This game will never evolve

The people who are playing it legit shriek in terror at the sight of changes, this happened when DS was nerfed and was met with a huge wave of complainers who wanted the change reverted, because it meant they couldn't play cocky and attack the killer directly.

CoconutRTS mentions the point "You can't teach an old dog tricks" And its true, the veterans dont want to have to actually play the game without DS/Deadhard/ or any other second chance perks so they just complain when flashlights get nerfed aswell. they dont want to have to learn how to play around new game mechanics.

You have to stop appealing to these players who are stuck in the past

  • They're not appealing to these players tho. They are actually making good changes.

    1. Which ds nerf are you talking about?
    2. Killers act the same way. To make this only about survivors is a bit bias. ( I'm not sure if that was your intention or not though)

You are wrong, because you don't understand the problem. I hate using the second chance perks, BUT they counter the play of the killer in a way that allowed me to play the game. After 3 games in a row of getting tunneled straight off the hook passed body blockers trying to save you. You start running DS, Dead Hard, and Off the record. It's not because it was fun to do so, it was necessary to buy myself an extra 60 seconds of play time.

  • Yet they probably knew how much divide these new mori/unbreakable changes would have and they are announcing them anyway? If the devs really catered towards these players that you claim, they wouldn't even think of implementing these kinds of changes. They change things quite often though... changing up old perks sometimes... new perks... new add-ons... adding new chapters... the game does change believe it or not and veterans STILL play it, if they want to, they could just quit. So yeah, they're not appealing to these players at all. And why bash on second chance perks? I don't use them myself, but it's fun watching other people use them, and they're actually helpful sometimes when the killer wants to be annoying and just tunnel you off the hook.

  • I don't think the flashlight changes will have that big of an impact for their intended use.

Flashlight trolls will probably lose their minds, though. When I'm playing killer and see a SWF running flashlights I load up Franklin's. After hooking one survivor and knocking a flashlight out of another survivor's hands, typically they all DC. I don't see that changing. It's not like they can threaten to actually play the trial.

  • To say this game will never evolve is to say you haven't been here long.

There was once a time when the game would literally last for hours while the killer stood on the hatch waiting for the last survivor. The game we are playing now is so different from that that I would say it has evolved for certain.

Now I can understand what you are saying, there are tons of people here (on the forums) that cannot fathom the need for change and how it out weighs the need for you to keep playing the way you want. These people will loudly go out of their way to decry anything that threatens their position, but that doesn't mean their points are even going to be considered as helpful feedback because in the end the devs will decide what is right for the game. What is right for the health of the game is to end the slugging and to end the game when all four are dead or dying.

Imo coconuts generally sucks as an advice giver ngl. I don't see the appeal in him. He only thinks about him and how he feels bout the game and how it's not the same for everyone else. Otz gives much better advice. Overall I do see your point though, but I mean this game has been evolving just very slowly until these past couple months. It's def evolving now idk what your getting at.

  • Change for the sake of change or to appease only one side is not exactly good for the longevity of the game. The game is not accessible to new players to replace the veterans because survivor is simply way too hard because of all the nerfs.

How are the Devs catering to them whilst also (which you have self-admitted) nerfing perks and etc for those players?

Most people have moved on from Deadhard and Decisive.
