How would you implement a buff on solo survivors?
Kindred could be base kit or at least some variation of it could be. An indication when someone who isn't the obsession is being chased. A totem counter. The ability to see if someone is ready to be picked up while in a downed state. Some type of way to see what perks other fellow survivors have. These are a few buffs I could see survivors getting. As this would exclusively help solo players, since SWF has access to all of this knowledge.

Maybe that means SWF was never a good idea?
The game would be dead without SWF. So that is certainly a good idea for them to implement. What they need to do is buff solo survivors with more information to bring them up closer to the same levels as swf. Then they can buff killers in turn.

Demo doesn't kill my FPS. But I also play on a Pro.
I don't think Demo kills my fps either and I'm using just a regular og PS4. However I noticed when I played him for a while like maybe 7 games or something the entire game was acting laggy, until I reset it. So maybe he does something? lol
Also I like Demo as a killer, I don't think he is bad at all. I feel like he is one of the most balanced killers they've made that doesn't have like a one shot, or extremely annoying factors to him that make him unfun to go against.

They won't show swf in the lobby, because killers will lobby dodge, which will increase wait times, something they are trying to cut down on.

There is a major difference between playing someone who is better than you, vs. playing against the player whose been at top rank, and has a high amount of hours.
A green rank player vs. a red rank player isn't gonna teach the green rank player anything. Instead it will just be an easy game for the red rank player, and a sweat fest for the green rank.
What I consider fair is a green rank vs a purple rank, as there is a difference in skill level, but it isn't massive.
This is why the +-6 rank rule and mm is unbalanced and unfair. As a player, you shouldn't face against a player 2 color ranks above you. Perfect example was one post where a player was a rank 14 killer, yet he faced a rank 7 survivor (purple rank). The +- 6 rank rule essentially mad eit so a yellow rank killer faced a survivor who had massive amount of experience compared to the rank 14 killer.
A +-4 rank rule, would be more fair and balanced, as at most you would face 1 color rank above you, which would lead to more fair matches.
Another symptom is the MM and how essentially you get green ranks vs red ranks all the time.
I agree a green rank killer won't really get better against red ranked survivors. Green rank killers usually don't have a basic understanding of the game mechanics yet to see an improvement. It would have to be at least yellow ranks I'd feel before they could take advantage of stress inducing games. Mostly like at the lower spectrum of yellow ranks so like rank 11 or 10. If you are much higher than that you don't have a enough of a grasp of the games mechanics to improve how you play.
But yeah matchmaking is dumb, I think everyone who plays DBD even the devs agree it isn't in a good place right now.

As I mentioned, the wall doesn't work. See this thread here for more people griping about the exact same thing. And yes, I know about baiting the flashlight out, except they know and take off in a straight line, only to swing right back around when you go for the pickup. Just slug you say? Great idea....oh crap, they have unbreakable. Meanwhile the gen jockeys with commodious boxes are banging out gens every 45 seconds. So just pressure them off...well ruin is useless, and pop only works after you hook someone, but you can't hook someone when the flashlight mosquito is buzzing around.
So you chase them off gens, but they run to the nearest safe pallet or god loop where it takes 60+ seconds to run them down, whoops, you didn't pressure gens while chasing a survivor because now the gates are powered and the hit you just worked 60 seconds for is negated by adrenaline. So you finally get a hook, where they hook bomb with BT, then body block, and even if you do down him again, he has DS. GGEZ, and nerf billy and noed please, they're OP.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/126494/flashlight-blinds-out-of-fov
I've never been blinded while staring at a wall ever in DBD. I have probably 4000+ hours on the game even if it's split between killer and survivor. But yeah. Also I'm Myers, if they are dumb enough to come to me and for some strange reason I can't just smack them, I can stalk them. It's a win/win for me. They aren't doing a gen, and one is on the ground so they are not doing a gen. Another is feeding me an insta down whenever I like on a killer with a tiny heartbeat. They are also most likely injured because they were in audio range to try and make the flash light save.
Stop the hyperbole man. I'd gladly enter a game with every survivor having flashlights, I don't need franklin's or lightborn. Those survivors are just gonna feed me free hits, and evil within, while not doing gens while they attempt to make saves and babysit fallen allies. I have zero issues with flashlights at all.

Trapper, hag, clown and myers are for most people used to do dailies adn to possibly derank with cos to do well with those you have to be good. Most are not good hence the increasing wait times for red rank survs. They are now being shoved down all killer ranks in the name of 2 get kille dand 2 get out. The two that die are the brown ranks. The two that get out and make things miserable sometimes are the red ranks. Never is there true balance in this game. You are always either doing the stomping or getting stomped on.
The higher you go as killer the more likely it is that you will be outclassed. Nevermind the using coms part.
Trapper sets up anything more than three traps and already 1 gens is gone. Same with hag.
I dont want to solely play the killer that i am but i am also not stupid enough to hamstring myself in the name of having fun when the game will be anything but.

Well, after enough matches of not having fun and not seeing any improvement, yeah, I'll stop playing. I mean, I played an FPS while being the absolute worst for a long time, but even though I was terrible it was fun and I was able to see slow, gradual improvement. Every match was a mix of skill levels, so I wasn't just getting stomped by much better players constantly.
Although, I don't think I really have a competitive drive. Especially not in DbD. I play to have fun, whether that means just memeing around or actually bothering to hook survivors as killer or whatever seems fun at the time. But whether I'm playing to screw around or to win, in order to interact with the players improvement is required. And I've seen improvement since I started, but lately when matchmaking keeps putting me up against survivors of a much higher skill level, I just feel lost. There's a lot going on in DbD, so when you're worse at everything vs the competition... you just kinda get stuck and flounder.
You should have seen my first time playing a multiplayer fps....I was terrible. lol I played against my friend who was match better than me and a few other people I think it was in Halo or something. I died like 20 times before I managed to kill him once. But slowly it was me dying 10 times before I killed him, then 5 times....he quit before I got much better though. I still sucked at fps's though, just got better. It's really not my genre. Though I do like Overwatch alright.
I got an obnoxious competitive drive, but also I like to have fun and meme around. My competitive drive can get in the way of others enjoying something because I'll see the most effective methods of playing something very quickly, which ends with other people not having fun, and not wanting to play with me.
But uhh back to DBD the match making is pretty screwed. my rank was in the yellows I think like 14. Because I took a break and just about every game was a mixture of red/purple or just red rank survivors. There was even a reverse game where everyone was green ranks and I was the purple ranked killer. Normally I'm red ranks so I didn't have a problem facing them, they were actually easier than most actual dedicated red ranks, probably because of the dumb ranking system reset. But I know a lot of killers were upset that most of the survivors they've faced have played long enough to actually get to red ranks even when their own rank wasn't even close. So I understand why it isn't fun. I just hope it get fixed with the new mmr system....

Didn't they say they were planning on implementing the different MMR for each killer after they tested out the MMR system? I don't think the individual MMR is getting implemented right off the bat.
Hmm I honestly don't remember, I think that was what I was most excited about that I didn't pay attention to if it was after or not.

It's a big buff. When you get deep-wounded, you'll want to repair the generator ASAP before you get put in the dying state!
So what they are saying is, the killer hits you, injures you. Stands there and hits you again, and you go into deep wounds instead of dying? Honestly it sounds horrible, as soon as the perk gets changed the killer would just grab you instead of the second hit, they get more points for a grab anyways. If they don't grab you they probably have save the best for last, and just got 3 hits off of you for you to get 2 extra seconds of gen repairing time.
Not a big fan.
-
I'm confused, all I read from your reworked or buffed idea, is that it's current effects are the same, but instead of just injuring you when you get hit, you also get thrown into a deep wounds status effect. That sounds like a pretty huge nerf to me.

I still have PTSD playing my trapper and when I finished setting almost all my traps, but (I usually keep one on me just in case) it was down to one gen. This was on Haddonfield, it really makes me not want to play low-tier killers, hopefully after trappers qol changes it'll make him easier to play.
I also have a miserable time playing most setup killers as they just don't have time to setup anymore, I am kind of scared of the new MMR system as I feel like most my games will end super fast if I don't play the best killers possible.
I had a game against a trapper not too long ago against the trapper. I hear people talk about all the gens being done in like 2-3 minutes. Never in my like 4000+ hours have I seen it happen to me as killer or as survivor. But against that one trapper....Less than 2 minutes in 4 gens popped, and before the 3rd minute was up that last gen popped while the trapper was setting up traps. It was pretty unreal to be honest.
I'm not scared of the new mmr system. I think it will be good, as they've said all of your killers won't have the same mmr, so if your testing out a new killer you barely have any playtime with, you'll also be facing weaker survivors. Sounds much better than now, where you play a killer for the first time, and it's in red ranks, and you get destroyed before you even have a chance to figure out what the killer's abilities are.

I dunno, maybe it's different for other people, but I don't get better when I go up against survivors who are extremely above my skill level. I can't catch them and I can't figure out how to catch them. I just get bored and I quit playing. When I go up against survivors around my skill level, I can get gradually a little better over time. When I go up against survivors who are way better, I see no improvement.
It's pretty much the same if I go up against killers who are extremely better; the only difference is I die too quickly to learn anything.
It can be different for different people. If you have the I give up attitude because you are not having fun. You probably won't get better, you also don't usually get better after facing something once. You need to do it several times. The getting better quickly usually comes from having a competitive drive. For example your motivation for not losing as killer to these red ranks, is so you don't get bullied and teabagged every single match. You'll get better at chases even if you lose the games, you'll develop better pressure without realizing it because you start to understand what they are thinking etc. It doesn't mean you'll automatically go from a 5 to a 10 after those ten matches. But it could mean you go from a 5 to a 8 in a much shorter amount of time than normal.
You can still improve and get better while playing games at your skill level. It's just usually a slower process.

If getting a strong team happened 20-30% of the time, it wouldn't be a problem. You could improve, but when it's 90% of the time, there is no fun or improvement to be had. Losing 10 out of 10 is a great way to get people to leave the game. I don't play the game to become the best to ever play, I play it to enjoy it..
DS needs to deactivate if you enter a locker, touch a gen, get healed, or another survivor gets hooked. You don't play the same caliber of survivor that I do, if you did, you would want flashlights nerfed too. All BT needs is a 30 second cooldown.
I play killer in red ranks, against red ranked survivors with Myers quite often. Survivors with flashlights happen. They run at you as soon as you hover over a person's body that you knocked down. Most of the time you can hear it through your headphones. You usually have two options at this point. Grab the survivor while facing a wall, or turn your ass around and smack that flashlight wielding survivor. I usually look at a wall, or to a spot that would be difficult for survivors to flashlight you from just in case they found one in a chest when picking survivors up even when I don't see one in the lobby. Just out of habit.
I feel you on not wanting to get basically bullied until you improve enough to where they can't bully you. I was only addressing your statement that you can't learn from constantly playing players who are better than you. As that's usually the best way possible to learn any game quickly.
DS doesn't actually bother me as killer...unless I've hooked someone, and then I down the person again after. I usually don't pay attention to how long it's been when I've chosen not to hunt them down. I don't agree with if they basically do anything it should get deactivated. The killer could have gotten there just in time to see where the survivor went, and the survivor went to a gen, and the killer slaps them. Like a Myers or Ghostface or something. They still technically got tunneled. But they absolutely didn't get tunneled if someone else got hooked.

The matchmaking won't let you get better. You can't learn if you're constantly getting survivors that are much better than you. There's quite a bit that the devs could do to make the killer experience less stressful.
- Nerf DS. 4 survivors, 2 hook states where it's available, 60 second invulnerability, translates into 8 minutes of safe time for survivors.
- Nerf flashlights. It's ridiculous for the beam to be outside of your FOV and still be able to blind you.
- Add a cooldown to BT.
- Increase gen times, or give better slowdown perks.
Actually a very fast way to level up your game is to constantly play people who are better than you. Obviously you need to have a grasp of the game mechanics. But let's say you played ten games in something at difficulty level 5, it can go up to to 10 in difficulty. Your skill level is at 5. You'll play and do fine, but your personal skill level won't really increase. You play 10 games at level 10 difficulty. You may lose every single game, but you go back to level 5 difficulty and it's suddenly a cake walk.
My description may have been a little weird, but it always works for me. But I come from a lot of fighting games in my background. I like fighting people who are better than me because I improve much much faster than playing against people who are at, or above my skill level.
As for your suggestions.
As for DS, I'd only nerf it so that it becomes disabled if you are not slugged, and someone else got hooked.
Flashlights to me personally suck, I never bring them as survivor. You almost never get a flashlight save, and all the good killers have headphones on so even if you blind them at a pallet they just follow you anyways.
I wouldn't nerf Borrowed Time, but I would change it from Terror radius based, to killer proximity based. Don't camp the hook, and if you just gotta camp the hook, take down the survivor who decided to do the unhooking right in your face.
As for increasing gen times, I'd be all for different killers having different gen speeds, going from 80 seconds to a maximum of 90 seconds. So Billy would be an 80 second gen killer. Demogorgon could be 85 seconds, and someone like Clown could be 90 seconds. But that's just a thought. I don't agree with a universal increase, as that would just make strong killers even stronger.

Myers is fun, but just doesn't have enough pressure in red ranks. Never really cared for demo personally, but that's just me. I have fun playing with trapper and just spamming traps in random spots. Always amuses me when I get the TRAP!
I don't really have an issue keeping up with Myers in the Red Ranks. Unless it's a bad map...but even those I can overcome if I play smart. But he is my main. As for Demo I think his power is fun. People panic and start doing weird turns that slow them down when Demo readies a charge allowing for a lot of easy hits by canceling and going for a normal attack. He also can annoy the crap out of survivors when you place portals by gens. You can just keep checking and see if any survivors are working on the gen or your portal, giving you map awareness. Survivors also waste time destroying them so there is a little bit of stall potential...and of course some extra fast travel.
But uhhh....neither are as brain dead as Freddy, if that's your idea of fun.

Leatherface doesn't have map pressure, and basically has to be in the same area's as Billy to use his chainsaw effectively. So Leatherface is the easiest to deny their power, because Billy can still use his power to traverse the map! Bwahahahaha cough cough.

That's a server latency problem, not a Hillbilly problem. For every hit that looks bad for survivors, you'll see the same amount, if not more, that just go through the survivor.
I know, but it's more devastating against Billy, than most other killers. I just felt like memeing though. lol

This is base kit Nurse all over again. Instead of 'getting good' and knowing a more unique play style, they'd rather have their Clowns and loop endlessly.

Just curious how they'll gauge a win or loss with the new system if this game wasnt considered a win with this system.
I kind of wonder to be honest, but since there isn't a way to tell how good you are doing, I wouldn't worry too much about it, unless you just keep losing every game, or winning every game. Then there may be cause for concern with the system.

The current rank system doesn't even matter, since they are changing it to the mmr system I believe in the next patch.. So your black pips, pips, or de-pips don't have any effect on anything. I personally don't find the Plague very fun to play against. I usually run Self Care, Botany Knowledge, Lithe, and Borrowed Time. She counters two of my perks just for existing. If I bring a medkit it's useless. She also counters any perks that have to do with healing (We'll Make it, Autodidact, Inner Strength etc) , and Iron Will. She even makes No Mither peeps throw up every where for easy tracking!
She may not have the lunge, or vault speed of tier 3 myers, but she can hear those cries of pain that he can't when searching around gens.
99% of Plague's also run Thanatophobia, making those gens go by fairly slowly so your punished for not cleansing, and punished if you do.. the game is even slower when she runs other gen slow down perks. It's just not a fun match for me win or lose.
Strength wise I think she is fine. I just don't have much fun playing her, or playing against her. Throw up everywhere, don't cleanse everyone is one shot and no more power, or cleanse and have a brain dead spit that you just rotate your camera in a survivors general direction and they just go down near instantly. Thrilling game play on both sides.

New to the game, can someone tell me what is SWF?
Survive With Friends. They are basically complaining that the survivors can talk to each other, and tell each other that the killer is coming their way, or the killer is at the shack. Killer is chasing me do gens etc.
They are stronger than solo players, most of the time. But they usually have a weakness of being overly altruistic, and cocky since they are usually just trying to have fun. So they make a lot of mistakes solo players wouldn't at the same time.

@Zanely89 said:
You said the survivor add-ons are not impactful, unlike the killer add-ons which are game changing.
Try another perspective, you can go into the game without item as a survivor and still do just fine (because it is not impactful like you said), but killers are add-on dependence, meaning killers already spend a few thousands BP just to have a shot to change the tide in their favor. Furthermore, survivor can plunder to get item from chest, which is another compensation for lower BP.
All in all, I'm indifferent about this change as I don't really care about item and add-on, I can do just fine without them. I just disagree that killers always get higher BP as the mean to earn BP for survivors is there, it is the question of whether the survivor make use of them. The Dev already listen to survivor and adjusted the scoring events a few times and it just seems that it is always not enough.
I actually don't use items very much myself unless I'm playing with my other survivors who don't have a lot of items and add-ons to begin with. They also don't have the strongest perks. I know that it's possible to earn a lot of blood points with survivor. But as I stated in my post it's not consistent, or possible to guarantee in a match like killers are. I mean with the current system I can literally do nothing but gens, no one gets hooked, I open the gate and leave, and de-pip, and get hardly anything unless I run at the killer and try to get them to chase me.
Also the killer gets a decent perk that either stalls survivors who choose to counter it (Them jumping into lockers instead of doing gens), or gives them information on where to go next. Survivor gets a dead perk that does nothing, if they want to keep their add-ons they also have to put on a dead perk that does nothing. And the perk that does nothing isn't something you can guarantee you'll even get in a match. You may get all 4 tokens one game and 0 the next.
With killer, you get rewarded for doing well in chases, which I am very good in chases most of the time, so it's almost always at 3 or 4 tokens. It's actually skill dependent instead of waiting around to get smacked, or trying to bum rush the hook from where ever your location is before your other teammates get there.
Anyways I guess I'm over it, just don't think it's justified, especially since killers bloodwebs are full of add-ons. It's way easier to find what you want. Instead of going through a ton of add-ons for a flashlight you don't want, or random map add-ons that do basically nothing. To find the stuff you actually want.

A few things here.
1) I disagree that Survivor addons aren't as impactful as killer addons. You have to take into account that a Survivor team consists of 4 players as opposed to one. Sure, a single ultra rare item decked with the best addons won't match the quality of an ultra rare addon for Killers. But 4 survivors with decent items and addons will.
2) Yes, in a single match a killer generally gets more BP than a survivor. What about when the killer has a bad match? He has to sit through the entire match and get scraps for BP whereas if a survivor has a bad match and dies early then they can simply move on to the next match and continue accruing BP.
3) Point 2 is compounded by the fact that there is generally no reason to spend BP on multiple survivors outside of learning teachables or wanting a different cosmetic (different survivors are pretty much different skins). Killers have to spread their BP among many different killers just trying to get optimal perks on them all unless they want to one-trick a single killer whereas Survivors can just stockpile everything on a single survivor.
1) I'll disagree with you on the first, as almost everything ridiculously powerful has been nerfed in some shape or form other than keys. Which honestly should be nerfed along with mori's. Insta heals which are not instant anymore, and the endurance boost, destroy your medkit. So the only real add-ons that matter are add-ons for toolboxes, and add-ons for medkits. Being able to heal while outside of a chase isn't game breaking. And as stated toolboxes were nerfed.
2) If I'm having a bad match as killer the survivors clearly did the gens, and I failed horribly which happens once in a blue moon. Luckily that gen rush that they performed, I can easily go and open the gate if they keep messing around in the match, which will force them to leave and I can move onto the next match. Still getting more blood points than the survivor who had a bad game.
3) As stated the blood point difference is massive, you can level up killers much faster than survivors. Heck for survivors, I go play killer when I want to level them up because it's 3 times faster. So yes while survivors are just different skins, doesn't change the grind if you actually want to play a different survivor, especially if you want to completely archive challenges, or dailies. Also getting every perk is a thing.
-
I think Zarina's model looks better than her still image. She's not that bad looking, not exactly my type but she's certainly unique looking compared to the rest of the females.
I don't like the look of Deathslinger however. His look just doesn't strike fear into me at all. He looks like some guy in a goofy cowboy outfit trying to be spookyyyyy. But to me he just looks silly. Kind of looks like he belongs in another game. If you like cowboys you'll probably like him, but to me he just isn't worthy imo of being added to the set of killers we currently have.

It's not useless, but it isn't strong either. Usually if you are in a chase you can already see if the killer starts breaking a pallet. And if you are not in a chase it probably doesn't do you a lot of good seeing that the killer broke or kicked a gen a mile away, other than maybe a tiny bit of relief knowing they are not close enough to smack you for at least a little bit if they decide to come your direction.
If you have nothing else I'd probably try running it.

I've been playing since the game launched. I've got over 600 hours put into this. But Killer health is at an all time low. Sure, I'll get gamed where I 4k, but the SWF games? The gen rush games? They absolutely ruin the experience. There used to be games where I'd lose, but I still had fun. Now, when I lose it is ALWAYS, without fail, SWF or toolbox survivors who teabag and spam EZ.
I've had enough of it, to be honest. I'm not enjoying the game anymore, so I think it's time to move on.
Wait till they update the ranking system with their new MMR crap. Hopefully the game will be able to put you in matches that are around your skill level instead of how it is now. If it doesn't get fixed...maybe then consider shelving it.

I like the looks of it at the very least. Though the rooms and areas are very tough to differentiate. So I get extremely lost as survivor, I also have trouble finding generators. Lots of unsafe pallets as well. I actually did have a lot of fun on the map regardless of all these things before they nerfed Balanced landing. After that nerf I dread going to Hawkins. It isn't an auto loss, but it just isn't very fun to me anymore.
As killer, I honestly haven't gotten the stage very much, but it's been a 4k every time I went. So I guess it's really good if you are killer?

I did it twice with Leatherface trying to get BBQ and Chili on both PS4, and PC. It was suffering both times. But I didn't have really any perks unlocked with anyone, and it was faster to use Leatherface because he came with BBQ and Chili than using Myers or someone else.
Though...now I kind of want to go back and give him some actual perks like Play with your food, and maybe Nemesis. So I can try him for real. Maybe my experience won't be as bad. Especially now that I know what add-ons are good on him, instead of just going like....obviously he wants Chili! lol

Is it considered toxic if I teabag my fellow teammate as they are getting brutally murdered by the killer's ebony mori? :3

I haven't played on Switch DBD in a while, the 20 frames per second as both killer and survivor was just frustrating. Especially with the graphics looking like they are pc set to low, and then blurred a few times.
It was tough to loop as survivor, and tough to land hits as killer with the jaggy camera.
But uhhh...any time you are at low ranks as survivor. They usually don't know what they are doing, most kill themselves on the first hook. Just how it goes, I don't think the tutorial will help, at least not the current one. They really need an updated tutorial to help new people. No where in the tutorial does it tell you that you only have a 4% chance of getting off the hook, and each time you struggle it kills you faster.

Oni starting out is kind of meh. Once he get's his power I honestly think he becomes a bit too op. I'll be making 90 degree angles and he just follows me around corners. Half the time I start to a pallet and if it isn't the safest pallet ever he can quickly change directions the moment I would have to drop it to avoid a hit, and go to the other side before I can vault back. Not quite sure what to do against Oni's power just yet, before it was 90 degree angles. Now it's....hope it's an extremely safe pallet, or just go down.
I'm not saying he needs a nerf just yet. I need to get better. His power when active is way stronger than Billy's I can avoid his dash most of the time when I see it coming as long as it isn't point blank.

People are toxic on both sides, in any multiplayer game ever. /thread

I say the randomness of the game is to blame, though I'd say killers being too weak or strong is more of an issue than Gen speed. You've got some killers that can quickly steamroll survivors if they are not careful. Billy (especially on Dedicated Servers) Spirit, Nurse, Freddy etc. They don't really need any help even with current gen speeds.
But lower tiered killers like The Clown, Legion, Trapper etc. They take too much time to traverse the map, and down survivors to even set up pressure, and to stop gen rushing.
So some killers are too weak, some are fine/strong. But there are obviously other stuff as well like map sizes and design etc.
Then there is the killers who bust out two iridescent add-ons/There strongest add-ons, An Ebony Mori, and play as toxic as possible and slaughter survivors before they can hope to get gens finished.
Alternatively you can have the survivors who bring in crazy tool boxes, and Prove thyselves and before you can down someone the gens are pretty much finished. Randomness makes DBD hard to balance for imo.

Probably my killer in all honesty. Average survivors generally get bullied heavily, and while I'm half way decent in chases, I'm still not the best at it unless I have a lot of knowledge about pallets locations before hand. While as killer primarily playing Mikey, and just m1 killers in general. I'm actually pretty proficient at chases, as well as protecting key generators I don't want to see gone.
I don't tend to camp or tunnel though. But usually someones back on the hook fairly quickly in my games. So yeah my best as survivor with average teammates, vs my best as killer probably = killer. 9 times out of 10.
-
Only meta perk I run on survivor is Borrowed Time, and that is simply because killers tend to camp far too much. So it gets use just about every game, and is also very useful in the end game when the killer is actually forced to camp because they can't really do anything else.
Dead Hard - Dedicated Servers destroyed any chance for me to like or use this perk.
Decisive Strike - I feel like I get slugged and left on the ground anyways, even with out it. And very rarely do I feel like I actually need it...well maybe 1 in 5 games. Also when a killer uses an ebony mori, it's a dead perk.
Adrenaline - I don't like that it only works in the end game. I know it can be really strong, but half the time I'm not in a chase at end game or I'm already at full health so it's just a sprint burst at this point. I rarely get the full effects of it...also lots of killers are running NOED.
Unbreakable. - I have a love hate relationship with this perk. It's usually completely useless every time I put it on, but the time I don't have it on I need it. .-.

My experience with Dead Hard and Dedicated servers is not good. I remember I had a game with a wraith, I waited until he was about to lunge and the button for dead hard and ended up exhausted and on the ground. I also waited later and while he was uncloaking right at the end I decided to hit dead hard and it never came out and I just got hit. I absolutely hate using Dead Hard with a passion because it almost never works when I want it to. Doing the 'use dead hard to avoid a killers attack' was beyond frustrating to me.
One game I friggin used it by running up to the killer and dead harding, I got exhausted and hit at the same time, luckily I had borrowed time. I did eventually manage to get it using the same tactic. But it swore me off from ever using the perk again. Sprint Burst, Lithe, Balanced, I'll take these three over it any day. Also... They give me more trouble as killer than Dead Hard ever has. Dead Hard's only use really seems to be to get just enough distance to get to a pallet. When just about every other Exhaustion perk does the exact same thing.

Why don't I get an add on to keep ebony Moris?
Can I get a perk that lets me knock the add-ons off of the killer every time I hit them with a pallet?

Michael Myers, aka The Shape, aka The Boogeyman.
He is the reason I bought Dead by Daylight in the first place. I just have a lot of fun stalking survivors, and get a certain thrill of just watching a survivor and suddenly they are just scrambling for their lives like a chicken with their head cut off to try and not allow me to gain tiers in Evil Within. I also really enjoy the movie Halloween, it's my favorite horror movie of all time, and I watch it every Halloween.
I also play some Ghostface, Freddy, Demogorgon, and some Legion. Though I'm slowly thinking about learning to play Leatherface. Though I kind of wish the devs gave him, and maybe his add-ons a bit of a rework. He just feels really boring.
-
Dev's are generally not the highest level at their own game. I mean a lot of fighting game makers go out of their way to find professional fighting game players, to play test and find broken stuff to get rid of, because they couldn't utilize their own characters they created to their fullest potential. They rely on community, and hard data to balance most of the time. Though money could be a good incentive as well.

I've got no problem with borrowed time, or Decisive Strike. I never really get why it's so hated, I've seen a lot of killers who really like camping the hook, and really like to tunnel. It is the fastest way to kill someone I guess. I always go after the person who made the save if I haven't left the hook altogether. Usually it's an easy slap when they are going for it, and another slap after the save and that's a downed survivor for me to just re-hook, and go on to somewhere else.
It can be a little annoying once you start hooking people in rapid succession, because you may not remember who you've hooked and how long it's been. But it generally isn't something that happens often.
