Yeah....I'd rather not stay under the hook unless I know that killer is in a chase. Even then it's risky. Maybe...just maybe if you have We'll Make It! I might stay and let you heal me since it's healing at double the speed. But other wise I'll usually want to be away from location that just gave away a notification of my whereabouts. Besides most people have self care, go do a gen and I'll worry about patching my own self up.
-
Man...at this rate Legion is going to get crazy buffs...and then I'll have an even easier time 3 to 4 manning every single game like I have been. Sweet lol
-
If you are good as Legion you do well, if you are not good with Legion you get trolled, and bullied. I think they should have just moved The Legion into Hard difficulty, since it seems to be people are either having a lot of success, or they are just doing horribly as them.
-
Kind of sad, I've seen plenty of times that someone just goes to a locker, hides there nearly the entire game, and usually only moves just enough so crows don't sit on them before jumping into another locker. Oh well, I guess I won't really know that we are basically down a player so I won't get as annoyed by it maybe.
-
I suffer from the corn blindness, and as I primarily play Michael. It not only gives away my position, it also gets in the way of me being able to stalk even though I can personally see them running from me.
On the Game map I usually kill everyone every single time. So...the list for the most part makes sense to me. However...I for some reason have a low rate of living on the corn maps....and usually every time I get on one it's against a Hillbilly with tons of room to roam around the map lol

Personally I think the balance of this game is kind of all over the place. It's hard to judge highest level of play because their are multiple areas to think of in my opinion. You got SWF's who are frankly ready to ruin the killers day. Death Squading around. But take those same really good players and just have them play solo with no coms. They may be a bit harder to kill, but I'd still favor the killer to well kill them, at least the majority of the time. And then you got killers who might as well be on SWF levels difficult due to items, and ebony moris.
This game shouldn't imo be looked at as a hardcore tournament level game. It isn't, never will be. It should be balanced around people having a good time. And the majority of the player base dying more often than they are living probably isn't the best for the game in the long run. Regardless of it being randoms, or SWF.
I agree with normal games catering to the higher level players for balance is generally pretty smart when it comes to setting the game straight for decent balance. It usually trickles down into the lower ranks as others get better. But I don't think it works very well in this game. I mean who are even the top level players in Dead by Daylight? I see an occasional tournament or two hosted by a fan, but it's not like it has hard core tournaments with money on the line that I know of.

I felt before the recent patch at rank 1 I survived about 50-60% of the time in solo. But currently during the event it's kind of like...10% maybe? Because everyone is milking flowers instead of doing objectives, and usually the first persons chase even if it lasts 3 minutes, no ones done a gen and that's already someone hooked and nothings been done.
But I did feel like the survive rate went down immediately during the last patch, even before the event. I'm not amazing at chases, and being immersed and hiding isn't viable either because it gives no blood points, and de-ranks you way too easily. But it feels like a lot of the things I abused before are gone, and chases are much quicker.
On the killers end, it feels way, way easier. Almost every game I've played has been a 4k, with the event currently the hatch hasn't even come into play in the last 5 games. Well...it was a 4k with my Michael, it wasn't when I tried out Freddy and Pig for the first time ever, but I didn't have any good perks and still did pretty well.
SWF's I think is really strong, I think solo play is lopsided in the killers favor by a good margin. It's also easy to avoid SWF if you are that afraid of them. I know some days I don't feel like dealing with it, and just leave a lobby when 3-4 instantly pop in.
-
Billy for me, the one hit down is annoying enough, but you know his ass is running BBQ and Chili, so you either drop whatever you are doing if you are close enough to the hook when someone gets downed, or you know he is gonna be at your location lickity split before you have a chance to get away safely, it's just frustrating to deal with imo.
-
I think this event is horrible, the summer event was much better. With the cocktail machines being gens. At least we got rewarded for doing objectives.
Survivors just got a nerf to healing, this event rolls around and basically asks us to not work on any objectives and instead extract nectar from plants which takes quite a bit of time. Go through killers who are also using ruin and sloppy butcher. It's beyond killer biased. Killers on the other hand get rewarded by just doing objectives aka hooking survivors which is what they do anyways. Except they have way more time on their hands to kill the survivors than they normally would because of it. It feels like a serious chore as a survivor as well, sitting through long heal times, sitting through nectar extraction, sitting on gens etc. It's just frustrating to me, and I don't know why they didn't see the obvious bias towards the killers side.
-
It does feels bad man when you haven't been hooked until the very end. At the same time having to wait probably a full minute for you to die is a bit annoying as well on the killers end. I don't see it being the full amount because you'll have to attempt to jump off the hook sometime right? Either way, it's probably ultimately a bad idea. So...just get hooked earlier! Problem solved! lol

If you lost all your bloodpoints and items, it is likely because you got disconnected from the killer on YOUR end, not that the killer rage quit. However, seeing as how you kept your key, I'd say it's a bug.I didn't de-pip and when it went to results it said the killer received 0 points, and my internet had no hiccups. It was also very convenient, that if it was to have me disconnected that it did so while the killer stood still and stared at us walking through the exit gates after guy I saved off the hook got swung on and put into borrowed time state.

As a Pig main, games are usually 5 minutes long if the survivors are extremely competitive but otherwise, your looking at 10 to 20 minutes games. A lot of killer's say "2 minute" games but even myself with 600 hours haven't had a game where all generators are powered on in 2 minutes.
All 4 survivor jump on different gens asap (5-10 sec)
Only one survivor can get chased at a time, everyone else stick to his gen.
60-80 seconds later 3 gens should be done and the first victim hooked.
Now either a) killer is camping and the remaining gens will be done in another 60-80 sec or b) killer is not camping -> free unhook and heal -> repeat the above.
= 120 - 160 seconds to do all gen
This leaves another 1- 2 minutes to open the gates and you are still way under 5 min.
Okay, that's all cool and all but it's easier said than done. LINK me a generator rush video that shows all generators being powered on in 2 minutes!

Can you show a current patch game that is that quick. 2016 had brand new parts which was broken, and got nerfed.
Video is 6 months old. No BNP used.
Your point is?Ah I could have sworn I saw 2016 for it's date. I see that I was mistaken, or maybe I clicked on something else while watching it. Also why did the killer never even attempt to protect his gens?

This leaves another 1- 2 minutes to open the gates and you are still way under 5 min.Really? All 4 survivors jump on a gen at the start of the game in under 10 seconds? That almost never happens, because usually 2-3 survivors spawn very very close to each other, usually in bond distance.
The killer can pressure multiple people at once, often during chases they lead you to other gens heeding their process, also just hitting them, and then swatting someone else heavily slows down. There is also herding survivors into a death trap. Where you intentionally let them finish certain gens to create a gen lock, while pressuring others, to ensure they do not get done.
If the killer leaves, people go to save, they are not doing gens, and it's not always free, depending on how much leeway you gave them.
Your stating a perfect scenario that almost never happens for survivors against any competent killer.

Out of curiosity, what rank were you during your rampage? I usually have mixed games as Doctor at ranks that are high green and quickly start to lose once I enter purple. Besides, while you can encounter the infamous 4 man flashlight death squad, that particular group is more commonly seen at red ranks where Nurse and survivor post-game toxicity are the law.I'm at rank 1, I'm not really bothered by flashlights to be honest. I don't see why anyone would complain about them when all you have to do is spend 5 seconds to patrol and stop it from being a thing when picking someone up. Or face a wall, that works too.
-
Bring on the colorblind support! On certain maps I can't see the generators or my totem's auras! I'd love the fix.
-
My thoughts for Ghostface's power was having him enter a closet and be able to teleport to any other closet on the map. If someone else is hiding in a closet their aura could be revealed to him so he knows where they are at, but he couldn't teleport to it while they are inside.
-
I'll agree on some things, I think Killers have ridiculous hitboxes that hit people on the other side of pallets and windows that shouldn't exist. Their hitboxes also tend to connect when they shouldn't as well requiring little aim most of the time. But I do not agree with exhaustion effects making certain perks useless. I think it was a good change, and those perks are still just as viable, just not as easily abused. I suck at flashlights to be honest, so I typically don't use them, and leave it to the other people who like to do flashlight saves. So no comment on that.

You do have a choice to opt out of 4-3 man swf, If you see them pop into a lobby all at once just leave. You can just wait till people come into the room one at a time. Also while SWF sucks to go against, there are counters to it that people don't utilize, like friggin looking before you pick someone up or going at an angle to not get flash light blinded, and swinging the moment that body blocking takes place, expect it and adapt. It's way easier to go against randos for sure. But it's not the end of the world, especially with how altruistic teams like that is.I've done something similar to avoid getting blinded. If they were downed next to a tall-enough wall (some obstacles just aren't tall enough, pick up the survivor while facing the wall, and survivors won't be able to attempt to blind you until you face another direction.
Yeah that's the smart decision as well as slight patrolling. If they are going for that flashlight save they gotta be near by, chase them away and then pick up your prey. Once they are up on your shoulders it's way easier to avoid a flash light stun just by looking up most of the time.
-
I think camping is pretty annoying to be honest. I'm playing with my brother who is new to the game, and his first two matches as soon as he is found he of course gets taken down, because he isn't that great at chases it usually happens fairly quick. And the killer is just staring him down looking him right in the face. What can I say other than Welcome to Dead By Daylight. Some killers are #########. It's also just a salty experience in general. And don't give me this you got outplayed crap. If a killer finds a survivor and the killer is even half way competent, eventually they will catch them unless by some miracle they lost them somehow during the chase. Really just is how long will this chase last before they go down most of the time.
The only time I've seen camping a hook as a legit strategy, is like Leatherface with a insidious sitting just outside of sight with zero terror radius ready to chain saw if someone goes for the save.
I don't really mind patrolling killers, the one that investigate around them, it's really just the facecampers. Even with borrowed time you can't actually go in for a save because you'll just get grabbed off the hook. And the only solution to that is, sorry buddy, just go ahead and die while we get out.
Maybe their should be a perk for the survivors that puts up a 15 meter barrier around the survivor, making it possible for a save. But still ridiculously easy for the killer to catch up and still tunnel?

I'd say Leatherface would honestly be the one I'd be the most frightened of. He's one of the biggest killers if not the biggest, he is wearing someone elses face, and he has a big ass chainsaw to swing at you wildly with.

I would love Ghostface, I actually thought his power could be to go into closets, and teleport to any closet on the map, since he kind of did just appear out of no where in most of the movies. lol

It's mainly just a combination of bad map design and outrageous gen speeds that makes killer extremely unfun against good survivors.- Any map with a big building generally has a long window loop where you have no chance of catching up unless the survivor is an idiot.
- Each generator takes 80 seconds solo without a toolbox. Chases take forever around those fun and interactive buildings. Add on how many pallets some of the maps have into the equation and you get people that play m1 killers having three gens pop after the first chase with no counter-play.
- All of the killer stall perks are absolute garbage bar sloppy butcher which is decent. Everything else is either situational (Pop goes the weasel), or has little to no real value (thanatophobia, Ruin)
- A lot of the maps are large making traversal a gigantic time waster for the killer.
- Most killers can only pressure one survivor at a time leaving the other survivors to do gens with no punishment whatsoever.
Killer right now is unfun and unrewarding unless you play meta because the game gets done before you even get to play on the majority of the killers. Looping is unfun to a lot of people so they scream that it's the issue but to me that really doesn't make sense since we have clown who hard counters looping but is only an eh killer due to his horrible pressure and weakness to gen speeds. Our top tier killers are all ones that can both get around quickly and down fast because those are the only killers that can deal with gen speeds by saving themselves time with a quicker map traversal and quicker downs at the same time.
Unrewarding unless you play meta? Does that mean BBQ and Chili? That perk alone makes playing killer rewarding, I swear I get 50-60k blood points almost every match with that on. It's a little absurd to be honest. With survivor it feels like I need 3-5 games to get the same amount as playing killer once. Though I've never gotten we are gonna live forever on anyone for farming.
-
Feng Min for certain, can we get some more costumes for her? Especially on the ps4 lol
-
I love Urban Evasion, I've avoided the killer so much using it, and it's also nearly a must have perk against the hag. Adrenaline is nice, but urban evasion is just too useful in every single map and against just about any killer.
-
I personally think they shouldn't allow the killer to see the survivors at all when they load into a lobby. It will stop all the dodging, and it's not like the survivors get to see the killer, or what add-ons they are using before the match starts to plan accordingly. You bet your ass when I see 4 Claudettes all wearing the same costume I'm going to put on whispers or nurse's calling or something to help track them down.
But I get it, swf is super powerful with them all talking, telling each other where the killer is at all times, so they know when it's safe to do gens, or when someone's going for the save. But it isn't going to get nerfed, not being able to play with friends honestly sucks. Depending on randoms is ridiculously frustrating. Gens don't get done, everyone goes for the save at the same time, or no one does thinking someone else will do it. Randos will quit as soon as they get knocked down once, or sandbag you by pulling you off the hook when the killer is 5 foot away. It can be incredibly frustrating.
What I don't like however, is the idea of ranks, you want to try out a new killer you obviously don't have any perks or add-ons but they force you to go against a full squad of survivors who are decked out with sprint burst, self-care, DS etc. Of course you are going to have trouble, and it deters you from trying new killers. Likewise trying out new survivors to me feels a bit intimidating because they usually have terrible perks, and trying to get their adept trophies for just using their exclusive perks is also a bit annoying when playing at low ranks.
I do think a more casual mode, or a non ranked mode should be added, and that for the ranked mode they should maybe see about rewarding low ranks with blood points or Iridescent shards depending on where you ended up at?
-
Going back on topic to the actual poster. I think that it's mostly so certain add-ons can't be abused for the killer. Mostly super and ultra rare items in multiple games. But also I think there is no real counter to them. Killers have Franklin's Demise to get rid of survivors entire item + add-ons. Well as long as they don't have a chance to go back for them, they've also at times seemingly disappeared from existence when going back for it. Also it may just be me but I think most of the killers add-ons have a much higher effect than a survivor add-on in most cases.
-
I spawned, took a couple of steps and saw a hex totem. Next thing I know I hear the heart beat coming in fast in the first 5 seconds of the game, try to stealth away as quick as possible but I end up running right into Leather Face who has some Chainsaw add-ons that accelerate him and decreases start up time, so I get insta downed. I get put on a hook, Leatherface starts to leave, but not even 10 seconds pass before another survivor tries to rescue me. Of course he turns around and before I even have the chance to go anywhere I instantly get hit and mori'd.
During that match I also equipped a very rare tool box with great add-ons and party streamers....

I'm actually pretty sick of how much the killers seem to whine all of the time. I know the struggles of both survivor and killer. But why do the killer mains seem to have this delusion that the killers are vastly underpowered? For every game that a killer gets looped, and runs into 52 pallets, there are 5 games that the killer kills everyone. If not everyone, 2-3 at least get sacrificed. Only getting 1 survivor or worse none is extremely rare. Call me strange but 2 is a draw, 3 is a victory, and 4 is an absolute victory. I swear you guys only remember your bad games, and expect to kill everyone without fail.Anyways, pallet thing can go imo. However I would rather bloodlust not get nerfed, instead I'd buff it by making it not go away if the person being chased never left the killer radius. As I've been in chases where I could literally see the person I was chasing on screen and bloodlust went away.
The fact of the matter is, it is literally impossible for the Killer to win if the Survivors dont screw up.
Between how fast gens can be done and how long chases can be stalled for it is literally mathematically impossible to win if the survivors are playing properly. There is simply not enough time.
The fact that the Killer side of the game needs to rely on "Hope the other person screws up" is not a sign of a balanced game, it is the opposite.
Killers are absurdly underpowered and cannot win if Survivors are competent and playing to win.The fact that you deny this and your response is "lmao whiny killers" really shows what kind of person you are.
You see I didn't just go lmao whiny killers, I said I'm sick of the whiny killers. An example of this and even being a great youtuber, Tydetime. He will ######### about how hard it is for killers despite almost every game he plays he pretty much kills everyone. Guess what? 4 perfect survivors should beat 1 perfect killer. How often do you play survivors who are perfect? Let me guess, almost never? That's the correct answer. Because humans are not machines, how does a killer get to rank 1? Oh right killing people other wise he will de-rank, or won't rank up. Sure I'll give it to you, if the survivors don't screw up, all are working on gens at the same time, can work through hex ruin, and are perfect at hiding from the killer they mathematically will win. But that does not matter in the slightest. Why? Because randomly you'll bump into a survivor who is trying their best to hide, they will go in for a bad save, they will take a wrong turn letting you hit them. They will accidentally run back to their teammates who are working on a gen and won't realize it, interrupting progress. Name a single perfect person in anything? That's right you can't because that is impossible, even the greatest at anything will mess up.
So bro you are the exact whiny killer guy that I can't stand, the pallets are a bug, the fact that you don't want it changed just proves what kind of player you are. Actually you know, I don't know from that statement alone. Other than I feel like you are an entitled prick who wants free wins. But then again who knows.
The thing is, you dont need to be perfect. You just need to be moderatley competent.
One mistake is nothing, you have to screw up multiple times for the Killer to actually kill you before gens are done.
Furthermore, the number of competent players doesnt matter, its completley irrelevant.
Doesnt matter if it happens in 1% of matches or 200% of matches, the fact that the game allows Survivors to be unbeatable if they are not idiots at all is the problem.
At that point you may as well just remove the killer from the game.As I stated 4 ridiculously good survivors should beat 1 ridiculously good killer. That's something that we might not agree on though. I'm rank 1 on survivor, and rank 5 on killer at the moment. I've had games against the flashlight mob squad, with all using DS before. They felt bad for sure, but that was usually like 1 in 15-20 games. Most of everything else was me just killing people left and right. I use Michael Myers as my killer main. And currently I get tons of hits abusing the current balance system. It will hurt, but I don't really think I should have hit them to begin with. It feels like a bug to me when I get stunned, hit them, and teleport forward at the same time. Like I said I have no issues with the pallet drop getting fixed. My complaint is about bloodlust getting changed.
Absolutley not. Again, if both the Killer and Survivors are "ridiculously good", it should not be an auto-win for the Surviovrs, it should be an even match.
But the thing is, you dont even need to be "ridiculously good" to win as Survivor, you just need to be somewhat competent.
Sure, you can 360 the killer all day and never get hit, but you dont need to.
The game is so forgiving to Survivors that even if the Killer is playing perfectly as possible and the Survivors are making mistakes, chances are the Survivors still win.
Survivors dont need to be ridiculously good or perfect, they just need to not be complete idiots.Dont get me wrong, there are still idiots who die of course, even at high ranks.
Hell, just a few weeks ago me and a David were repairing a generator inside the Killer shack, the Trapper comes up, we both continue to finish the generator since the Trapper isnt actually a threat to us at this second and it would be a waste to leave it at 96%, even the pallet is still unused.
Both me and David see him place a trap at the window so we cant go out that way.
Trapper finishes placing the trap and comes insidem the David decides the best way to escape the trapper is to jump through the window, right into the trap.
This was at rank one.But my point is that if the Survivors CAN be unbeatable and thats a problem, not that every set of Survivors is unbeatable.
I think there is a level of balance between the two. I don't think it's as one sided as people like to make it out to be. There are bad games for both sides. Those are what people remember the most. I'll admit that survivors who know what they are doing especially in a team together talking usually have an advantage, but a lot of the game is luck based. And there are other factors to add in. For example a killer might have some ridiculously overpowered add-on, or an offering. Huntress taking down people in one hit of her hatchet, or the hag instantly being able to teleport to any of her traps with make your choice on. Michael having infinite evil within 3. There are games with the survivor that the killer just face camps you the entire 2 minutes until you die on your first hooking after you spawned right next to him or his hex totem. Sure you can have your teammates gen rush while he camps, but the person on the hook has a ######### time barely getting to do anything that game except get chased and hooked. A lot of those add-ons are really rare, but I think they already make the game unbalanced in the killers favor.
Survivors can be slippery little eels disappearing from view, you getting unlucky and going to the wrong gens being worked on. People body blocking and flashlight squading. It's toxic on both sides, and I don't feel like the balance is that off. But then again that's my experience with the game.
The thing is all those things can be avoided and have downsides.
Hatchets can be dodged (not to mention hitting invisible walls because lol hitboxes), and Huntress gives you plently of warning of "hi Im over here", what with her directional lullaby.
Infinite Evil 3 is much weaker than its made out to be as no competent Survivors will ever let him get Evil 3. By the time he actually gets enough charge the generators are all or mostly done. Even if he does get Evil 3 early, its not like its an ez win either, he still has to go through loops and such and he has no way of countering them.
MYC hag isnt a pro-active strategy its reactive. You cant get MYC if somebody didnt already screw up and get themselves hooked.
If a person is on the hook, its their own fault. There is more than enough ways to avoid getting on the hook.
If they really hate it that much and dont expect to get rescued they can just move onto the next game by killing themselves on the hook.I must not play good survivors as I think the hatchets with the huntress are gigantic and are incredibly easy to land with barely any aim, or guess work from the Huntress. Also as a killer I don't think I've ever gone a game without hooking someone. It's not really hooking someone that's difficult, it's keeping someone hooked while also patrolling generators that is difficult. Which is why I don't actually blame a killer for tunneling like some people like to do, since it's the fastest way to kill someone and get them out of the way. Every game I've had the infinite evil within 3 on I've killed everyone with little difficulty. Actually now that I think about it, I can barely recall any games where a survivor hasn't been hooked, not sure what they could do to avoid it, if the killer doesn't eventually lose them. It's more like they delay the killer from hooking them as long as possible, unless the killer loses track.
