Survivors keep complaining about the exhaustion "nerf", when its really a balance, but fine whatever.

    How does this sound then?

Exhaustion can go on cool down if you are running, but only if you are not in chase. So regardless it will be on cool down like normal.

However, if you enter a chase and run, it will stop the cool down. Walking would proceed with the cool down though, even during chase, as it is now.

Would this make you happy? Or is there only one extreme for you guys?

you want to make changes because people complain? thats not how balance works.

it doesnt need a different nerf than whats coming. it doesnt need your changes either.

"you want to make changes because people complain", because that's what I said. Please don't put words into others mouths. Trying to meet a fair compromise here. So everyone can be somewhat happy. But survivors that are un-reasonable, I.E. all the ones Review Bombing, and killer like you that assume things won't help in the long run.

You all act like I am tying to completely change the whole premise of the update which is incorrect, I am merely suggesting a minor change, that really won't effect much when it gets down to it. Yet no one can seem to grasp that simple Idea, and they go right into hostility...

Thanks for your input though. Have a nice day

how do you make any compromise?

the survivors complain because they want to complain not because the majority of them have any remotely valid balance arguments.

their argument is: i dont want it changed.

    you cant compromise on that.

dont cater to survivors complaints when the majority of them dont even give any balance reasons. have some backbone.

I wish every match was a team based game xD. U fail to understand that there are many selfish survivors around, that's why i run SC. And as a solo survivor 50% of the time

what do you want me to do about the fact that survivors dont want to help other survivors?

its a team game no matter how you look at it. if every survivor was meant to be a great one on one combatant, why the hell would you need 3 other mates?

playing survivor is a team experience, or its meant to be. thats why they nerf Self-care because you're supposed to rely on mates for that.

  • @Vietfox said:

The problem with Self Care stems from a different problem altogether, which is that injuring Survivors has no significant effect. They can heal an infinite number of times, so the only way you can truly capitalize on that initial hit is by making sure they go down and then die. Self Care is a problem when combined with looping and safe spots, since Survivors can just heal up during a chase.

Also for BT? If u dont camp/soft camp BT is not activated.

Some of u wont be happy till survivors run without any single perk.

You shouldn't be able to infinitely heal your self. Especially during a chase. Self care enables reckless gameplay when you should be playing smart.

Right, cause i got 0 deaths on all my playtime thanks to SC, and the healing speed is so OP as well. XD

you could continuously heal over time. heal a little there, heal a bit there. specially during pallet loops.

the smiley doesnt make you sound more clever.

Because you obviously must be a "survivor main" to not like the update.
This is what "killer main" logic is. You can't be playing both sides , you must be main something.
    Stupidity at it's finest.

considering how many complaints there are, and the general way survivors tend to conduct themselves in the games i play and how sassy you guys often are when writing on the forum, yes that was my general idea, that the vast majority are survivors who made those negative reviews.

also this is a buff for the general killer and a nerf to the general survivor. why would a killer dislike that, considering how one sided matches were before, unless you used specific perks as a killer like Ruin?

  • it just shows how immature so many survivors are. i mean considering if you camp (because you want to or 1 gen left) there is always at least 1 survivor, that's gonna call you names, or call out CAMPER! in the end. (why do they even bother). i never got the idea that the oldest audience of DBD community were the survivors, i always got that they were the killers even before i got the game from watching the streams. this post you make doesnt prove me right or wrong, but it certainly does prove that a vast part of the survivor community are not very old. i mean lets face it, killers didnt make those negative reviews.

things get a little harder for them (yet its not even remotely as hard as it has ever been for the casual killer (Note: CASUAL)) and they instantly start the whine which is meh, but most importantly, they instantly give the game a bad review on steam.

all because things arent going their way. because its not as easy to win as it used to be. mind you, the game is a lot more balanced now, albeit i still feel the over all game is too short though.

these dolts didnt even attempt to adjust to the new settings, they just instantly rage quit and went to the steam boards to make a negative review. how long has the patch been live? and there are so many negative reviews already.

Just curious. With your logic, you would still try extremely hard if only one person spawned in the lobby, right? Because that's fair?

if everyone DC'ed except one guy during the game, id try as hard as ever to kill him. because the faster he dies, the faster we can both get out of this crap game that the DC'ers left us in.

beside, again, its his objective. If they DC, well that sucks, but im still supposed to murder the last guy. so by all means, i intend to do just that.

what i dont understand about survivors is, if they have a ######### game, or a good game for that matter, why must they always take it out on the killer.

i never trashtalk my killer when i play survivor. i dont, and cannot at all, understand why people feel the need to be an ######### in the chat after the game ends.

should he had let them go? thats not his objective. did he camp them? no, and even if he did its allowed. did he tunnel them? nothing so far appears that he did.

Reliance on crutches like that ultimately make you worse as a solo player. I find myself doing so much better when I don't use any perks at all than when I do.

Either way, infinite healing is powerful, and it makes ambush Killers kinda pointless. What's the point of getting a hit in early if they can spend 20 seconds to erase that?

It’s just that i hate having unreliable team mates when I’m playing solo and I genineuly feel like the new nerf for SC is going to turn into a trolling spazz.

I feel like the devs are going to make it to where you can only heal yourself so many times, I can only imagine trolling team mates leaving my healing progress bar at a touch away, give me a teabag, and then run off...

Isn’t Nurses Calling used to counter self care if the person escaped out the chase?

but you will end up with unreliable teammates sometimes, and playing survivor is a team game, not a solo game. so yes, self-care should not be done alone.

Bully for you. I don't. You are not the standard by which other survivors should play. If I have gone against a lousy camping tunneling killer I will joyfully and proudly teabag at the exit gate as my way of giving them the middle finger for their ######### play style.

theres nothing wrong with either camping nor tunneling at the right situations.

  • @BLUE_APE said:
Camping sucks, we all know this, don't bother arguing. Its lame, a wasteful match, and a pethetic way of trying save your rank.

Now if you want to do it this way, its more fun and fair for both sides.
I camped only once with Wraith, but I let the hooked person get saved, and I went after the person who wasn't just on the hook.

So heres a fair, fun and more efficent ways to camp.
    1.
(Whatever killer your playing) after hooking the survivor, get a good little ways away, (roughly around til the hooked S. doesn't hear your heart beat) and wait, for someone to come and save the hooked one. let them save the hooked S. and then charge after the the survivor who wasn't just on the hook.

reasons: you get can effectively get points from all survivors more likely saving your rank, and higher chance of just sacrificing a survivor because the same one that got saved might try to save again.
Its as simple as 123 hook, wait, chase, and repeat. If you choose to attack during a rescue....well just think about why killers could be getting nerfed.

    1. A more tricky but fun way, is to GEN CAMP!!
you find a number of gens clusterd close together (roughly 3 or 4) and when it comes down to the last gen, you gaurd those gens and rack up those points. Survivors will have to rotate between doing gens and dodging the killer, plus if the killer is running over charge and unerving presesnse, will make it impossible. repeat this for a good bit (make sure you maxed out on points) and then slowly try to down and then hook a survivors one by one (make sure that any near by hooks haven't been saboed. maybe run hang man's trick)

I think option 2 is the best bet though, and I like killer's doing that, because then its really fun just tagging in and out on both sides.

Camping hooks is for weak players and who can't (or won't) want to try to play the game the way it was meant to be played.
    Lame-Ohs.

why should i not bother argue? i think camping can be rather fun sometimes. sure i enjoy chasing survivors the most, but i aint gonna chase a damn thing if the first guy i hook happens at 2 generators left. then you can dangle on that meathook. if i hook someone at 5 generators? yea ill leave him.

when i play the game as killer, i dont really care about what you find fair, i care about my objective which is to kill. if we're down to 2 generators and i just hit and hook random people, odds are when the gates open, i wont have a single kill.

so no, camping is not lame, and yes i can bother arguing about why its not lame and i will. games are over in a flash, i can often not do anything else, and its not a pathetic way of saving ones rank.

and after that, your suggestions are very silly. why would i charge after a healthy survivor rather than the injured guy that was just unhooked? because its fair? are you kidding me? fair to whom? you call it fair and efficient, but its neither fair for the killer, nor even efficient!

Why is it not fair to the killer, whos objective is to murder, to go for the injured guy that was unhooked? he needs 1 hit to go down, the healthy guy needs 2. the healthy guy probably need 3 more hooks because he hasnt been hooked, the injured guy only needs 2 more to die. killing survivors vastly reduces the difficulty of the game for the killer, and vastly increase the time we have to kill the rest.

nothing you've said makes any sense at all.

  • i actually thought i was the only one. when i watch streamers they seem to be able to find and track down people doing chases fine, but i cant see a god damn thing.

and yea, crouching as the Pig in that stage is a nightmare!

How would these changes help with camping and tunneling?

People will always camp in games no matter what, it's not the game it's the person.

Tunneling is situational. I always go for the one who saved if I'm close, but if that person hides right away and all I see is the injured person, I'll go for that one. In that case it's the fault of the other survivor who didn't take aggro.

Camping is also situational. Some like me camp no matter what. I have my reasons. Exit gates open and first hook most will camp. Or would you run to the other side of the map at this point and give a free escape?

I wouldn't care at that point as the game is already lost. I'm a 4k or no K kinda guy. But I've never had a game where all generators were done and I just got my first hook.

well.. whats the problem with it? seems to be working as intended

Sometimes the hits look fishy. That's really it. I've seen it a few times in streams.. but I can't recall a specific instance of it happening to me, but I don't do risky pallet drops and don't record so idk. Maybe once in a while on sliding pallets as WhateverIGuess referred to.

Of course people are going to blame it all on lag, desync, P2P, or whatever, but good game design needs to take that into account. A clean hit that misses is just as bad as a clear miss that hits.

ive tried to hit people throwing pallets or vaulting windows/pallets what not where i thought: ######### why did i do that!

and then i hit him anyway and is like: the ######### just happened.

i guess it might be an internet issue? not sure. i dont think its an issue with the hitbox but yea, internet.

over all, time is my only real complaint because you just dont have time to do anything as a killer.

the longer the game, the more pallets will be broken in the end. the longer the game, the less of a need to run NOED and HEX ruin and all that.

also, while i dunno much about previous strike, i didnt play back then, going on a strike seems a bit odd. though i cant say i dont get killer mains for being upset. and i dont understand why people want to ridicule others for being upset about curret balance.

I would like to see objectives added to make gen rushing less of a thing. I saw someone else suggest 4 parts for the generators that might be too much, but i liked the idea.

sounds like a better idea than simply making the generators take double time. i mean at least you move around there, rather than being a big target at a generator.

games are too short though. no perk, survivor or killer can change that. well maybe it can, but a perk shouldnt be that vital to begin with, it should make different playstyles interesting.

  • im not sure i even mind SWF too much. i just wish games were longer.

i got a guy hooked after like 3 min, and we were down to 2 generators. (not like i chased him for 3 min, had to find them too and deal with DS). its a little easier to deal with when its 1 generator left because your area you need to patrol is smaller. but its quite large for a normal slow killer at first, and they just get repaired super fast since you cant cover it all. then

That is literally the argument every killer main resorts to if they can't provide substantial counter points. Fact is, survivor has some stuff that sucks too. Do killers need to be stronger? Yes, but that doesn't mean survivors don't need a better experience too.

Killers are being entitled thinking they are the only ones that deserve any sort of change for the better, and the only things survivors should get are nerfs and punishments. THAT is entitlement, to think only you and your side matter or deserve things the other side doesn't.

No they don’t take a lot of the post seriously because they are just whining, there’s no math or stats or plausible resolutions, just nerf this, remove that, this is OP, SWF is blah blah.... seriousness comes from the content of the subject, not the tantrums of poor losers, who will blame anything apart from themselves.

so in the end, if killer perks extends the game, but survivor perks does the opposite by making longer chases that means he cant focus on generators, we're back to a short game that in the end benefits the survivors.

when i play survivor i dont hate neither BBQ and chili nor Ruin. because there are counters to both. a guy is hooked? walk away and hide from the generator. Ruin is active? ######### some totems.

theres no counter to Decisive strike, or sprint burst.

That's a totally fair trade off. The only defense survivors have against killers, besides flashlights is to run from them. Sprint burst is not infallible either as it needs to recharge. Killers can and often do counter DS by dropping the survivor before they can use it or make them mess up.

i wouldnt say that the only defense survivors have is to run.

they can stay hidden too. hiding is probably their biggest defense and what should be emphasized the most. id say trying to break line of sight should be the objective, but sadly thats not how this game works. this game works pretty well with looping also, so theres little reason to even break line of sight.

Ahhhhh hahaha oh my god and you wonder why no one takes you lot seriously

because this is a forum, so we should throw away all our humanity and devolve to apes, throwing feces at each other.

Starting to be snide or sassy wont get you anywhere. i dont care if you care about whether you get banned or not. though i highly doubt that person gets banned. i just do it flag people to try and keep things a tiny bit civil.

what you say makes no sense however.

no one takes killers seriously because they try to make the game more balanced? even if you think the game is balanced and killers dont, doesnt really change that people should be taken seriously, even if they wont be ridiculed by peoples "triggered" posts.

  • What i miss mostly from the game is, the balance aspect between having rank 50 killers and not.

leveling up a killer is a nightmare when you dont even have a single level 50 killer. the difference between having the teachable perks available to you on killers and NOT having teachable perks available, is just a huge factor.

games are over super short, and its even more difficult to deal with generators being rushed (as its their objective, no complaining about rushing) when during the chasing phase, they have multiple perks that helps them extend it.

the games are over quickly, and the killers are in dire need to extend the game, but they cant, because they havent learned the perks required to actually extend the game.

some end game killers like nurse with the right perks and add-ons and what not work super well.

but other killers dont work that well at all. but in general, the casual players who play killer are just.. overwhelmed with how little time they have to do kill anyone.

playing survivor, when ever i do that, feels a lot less.. stressful.

that and of course the most obvious: everytime i either win or lose as a killer i get flamed. i never flame people when i play survivor, im respectful. but i get flamed, every single time as a killer.

i can maybe find a stepping stone near you and say i might agree.

but how much does survivor add ons help in terms of speed, when talking repair generators?

and then how much does the perks help the killer extend the game? while i dont have the exact data, i dont think any survivor perk really helps shorten the game down insanely much, as they mostly deal with survival.

where as killers can extend the game at least some degrees when using spotting perks and gen extention perks.

I would say about as much as a killers does to help slow down gens or track survivors. Killers hate DS. Survivors hate hex ruin. Killers hate self care. Survivors hate BBQ and chili. Killers hate sprint burst. Survivors hate overcharge etc.

Its a two way street. Both sides have perks that the other side hates because it gives them serious advantages.

so in the end, if killer perks extends the game, but survivor perks does the opposite by making longer chases that means he cant focus on generators, we're back to a short game that in the end benefits the survivors.

but casuals dont have these perks thats kind of the point. and the only way to be a prominent killer is to run specific perks, where as being a survivor doesnt require you to run a specific perk in order to be successful. some perks helps a TON, sure, like sprint burst and DS, but you can still end the game super fast if the killer isnt using perks that extends the game.

he HAS to use it, survivors dont.

i dont even have most of those perks and my games can be over so fast.

That's your opinion. Most other players say otherwise. There are some perks survivors will nearly always use e.g. self care. There are some perks killers will nearly always use e.g. hex ruin and BBQ ans chili. Both sides will argue these are essentials in order to win, or gain an advantage.

i can maybe find a stepping stone near you and say i might agree.

no i didnt. i asked how they were a problem for you in general. i know their effect, but you can clean totems to remove the Ruin.

the games can be super short, Ruin and other Gen regression perks is one of the few things keeping killers floating in order to delay the game enough to actually kill people.

They're not a problem for me in general. I was making the point of how they can seriously slow down generator repair. I get why killers use them. They can and do slow down gen repair. Same with overcharge. Its not an easy ride for survivors to get gens done when killers use perks like that.

but casuals dont have these perks thats kind of the point. and the only way to be a prominent killer is to run specific perks, where as being a survivor doesnt require you to run a specific perk in order to be successful. some perks helps a TON, sure, like sprint burst and DS, but you can still end the game super fast if the killer isnt using perks that extends the game.

how is bamboozle and hex ruin going to be a problem? considering how fast you can clear a game, you'd think some of you guys had time to destroy a few totems on the way. i know that i do anyway.

Did you seriously just ask how hex ruin and bamboozle is a problem to gen repair?

no i didnt. i asked how they were a problem for you in general. i know their effect, but you can clean totems to remove the Ruin.

no its not. its an insult. but you dont even understand the math here. with each person having to be chased 3 times, caught, and hooked, by the times 5 generators and a gate has been opened. it takes 70 seconds for 1 generator, and most survivors knows where the generators are since maps arent procedural.

the time does not add up for the killer to win except with specific few killers. then we add all the perks like DS, sprint burst and other stuff to lengthen the chase.

You want to go back and forth again with the yes it is, no it isn't? Because I'm game.

Will you stop with your math arguments. Trying to get scientific and quoting times to do gens is laughable. Do you want to get out your calculator and tell me the times when the killer is running hex ruin, bamboozle, overcharge etc?

how is bamboozle and hex ruin going to be a problem? considering how fast you can clear a game, you'd think some of you guys had time to destroy a few totems on the way. i know that i do anyway.

most of these streamers, even if you think they're trash or not, are way better than the vast majority of killers playing this game. if they say things are bad, balance wise and can barely win, how exactly are the rest of us filthy casuals supposed to win? do you think they've complained for fun or attention? no they havent. they have complained because there are problems with the way this game has been balanced.

No, that's an analogy about the nature of the complaints about SWF. Saying I'm too stupid to understand something because I was hit on the head as a child, that's a personal insult.

but sure, go main survivor and tell yourself how good you are for winning. its not a balance issue, you're just that good. and most great streamers that complain about balance issues about the killers, who we can see also have high ranked survivors, are just plain #########.

    why not.

Is that the best you can do? Some pathetic childhood insult? You know someone has lost the argument when they resort to the personal insults.

Thanks for the suggestion, I think I will go play some survivor. This exchange has really put me in the mood for it.

still no and if you cant comprehend it, your brain has failed you. killers complain because theres a balance issue that eats away at the game.

playing killer is a stressfest since generators are done so fast, playing survivor isnt really a stressfest, its more relaxed.

Killers TEND (note the word tend) to complain about balance issues. Survivors tend to just be toxic in general by the tactic the killer is using.

Still yes, and if you can't comprehend it, your brain has failed you. Killers complain because they think there is a balance issue, when there isn't.

Playing survivor against a competent killer can be just as much a "stressfest", but I don't view facing a good killer as stressful, its fun. If you're finding playing killer stressful, then I'll say what the killers say to us "whining survivors" - git gud.

Or better yet, stop playing killer altogether. You're supposed to be doing this for fun. If its a "stressfest" for you, then its idiotic to keep doing it.

i intended to make a long post explaining why you are wrong, but since you hit your head as a child, like son goku from dragon ball, i came to the conclusion that my time is wasted on you.
