  • You dont need to earn anything its just a game, play like you want.

Getting through these Survivor Challenges is agonizing when so many games end up with terrible teammates and camping Killers.... Ran a Killer for 2 whole Gens, get hooked...fine, that's a fair trade... But then two people run to unhook me when the Killer is right there. He sits right on top of me, chases away the Survivors who made zero attempts for an unhook...and immediately sits back at me...while everyone just leaves me to die.

It's just beyond agonizing that matchmaking has me paired up with Grey Ranks, when I'm in Purple Rank, that barely know how to play. With Killers that never leave the Hook and it's "Well, they can do that". Im tired of Camping Killers....that get rewarded for it at my expense, while my 15+ min queue time gets wasted so early on and I get zero chance to progress any of my challenges.

    yea.

and im tired of being punished by playing against SWFs. there should really be a seperate lobby for that. lets see how many killers want to do that.

    Hi,

Disconnection penalties have improved the attitude of every player. Very few players are DC'ing, and more players have started playing more seriously. There is 1 downside to the disconnection penalties, though. Killers can't DC if they are in annoying situations. Imagine this: a rank 14 killer plays against rank 4-8 survivors (happens from time to time). Every survivor uses clutch perks and they are just trolling around (with their flashlights), since they know the killer is too unexperienced to catch them. In those situations, the killer should be able to leave without consequences in my opinion. The killer gives the win to the survivors (which makes the DC'er the only loser) (If a survivor leaves, he gives the win to the killer, which means the other 3 survivors lose too).

On the other hand, if the killer sees survivors uses white wards/good items/escape cakes, the killer may NOT leave, since the survivors will lose their offerings/add-ons.

What do you think about this?

    Regards, vVNootnootVv

i dont agree. but i do think you should be able to see the rank of your enemies before entering, also whether or not if they queued together.

that way i can leave the match before it starts if i end up playing versus people who are rank 4 when im rank 10. which happens somewhat often

Plague. I have no idea why but nearly every Plague I face is dogshit at the game.

most i see playing Nurse are absolute trash as well. though ive tried her myself and i was dog ######### too. shes really really difficult but most i see (im rank 10) never gets it right with Nurse.

  • i camp in mostly 2 different scenarios.

1: i hook 2 people on hooks right next to each other and i have vision of both. Survivors are now bait that MUST be unhooked otherwise they all lose. it would be foolish of me to move myself away.

2: i have no kills and theres 0 generators left all they have to do is open the gate yet i just caught a guy and hooked him. if i walk away i lose him, if i stay, i get a last chance for a last fight before the game ends and possibly some kills.

Either way its a valid strategy in both scenarios.

Tunnelled for 18, camped for 2. I can assure you that our definitions should be similar. Moving out of Kindred range for 2 seconds total is camping when it leads to either going to struggle, or dying. Tunnelling is targeting the same person and only hooking them until they die. Or at least they are for me.

More and more killers have also used that line on me lately, but I'm also on Xbox and we don't have Endgame chat.

There also isn't any "play better" when I get all of one chance to practice and usually in unfavourable situations.

You're right that you don't know my games, but it also leads to a problem that just about everyone who "comments" on my issues have: they don't even try to empathise with me or see my point. They don't know my struggles and a lot of them just don't care.

Take my thread The Hillbilly problem as a perfect example, I went "I have played a lot of games against and as Hillbilly and here are my findings, especially regarding his skill floor." and an overwhelming majority argued about skill celing, flicks (especially helpful for a console player!) and high rank gameplay. My points get ignored and people bring in completely different arguments.

As for time on hooks, I KNOW how to play a stealth game, I got to red with a combination of stealth and running. I did it when an overwhelming majority of killers didn't camp and tunnel. If I was given half a chance, I proved myself.

My problem is that in the current gen-rush/tunnel meta, there is no opportunity for me to do anything before I get done in by the killer.

i dont think its so much that people dont see it from your perspective, its just that people dont agree with you. i dont agree with you for instance and we're playing the same game. We play the same game but clearly tunnelling is a big deal to you but not to me. You made it sound like camping was a big problem too, but now you state it only happened in 2 out of 20 games. thats not a lot. at all. thats hardly even a problem worth mentioning.

Meaning your big frustration is tunnelling which many dont agree is a problem given several different reasons.

if i had an opinion stating: I think clown is THE best killer in the game, and i made arguments for why i thought that, that doesnt mean everyone else has to agree. being upset because people dont agree with your opinion isnt the way forward, it simply means that you either see this as a bigger problem than the rest, or this happens to you by chance, more than it happens to others.

which i think statistically speaking doesnt make any sense that it would. That or your way of describing tunnelling is, again, different from mine. i could also as an example make the argument: Survivors pallet loop me 20 battles in a row and i dont like that" and somehow expect people to feel sorry for me but again, i dont think people will. Just because i think its a problem, doesnt mean everyone else has to agree. Survivors sees pallet looping as a valid strategy, just like many killers sees tunnelling as a strategy.

I agree that being face camped sucks when i play survivor, but i also believe that survivors often are part of that problems too. i often get unsafe rescues from people without borrowed time that just wants to farm me. i also often find that survivors dont play together to try and lure the killer away. In short, Camping can suck really really hard. it sucks to be camped, though again, as a person that does play both sides and have equal rank (though im still a killer main) i do believe that camping can be a valid strategy at times. like if you hook 2 people right next to each other. why would anyone leave that? the survivors HAVE to come rescue them so they are simply bait.

Further more i simply cant agree with you that tunnelling is a problem. I see your point, but i dont agree. it sounds entitled that you dont want the killer to go for you but dont mind him going for anyone else.

its a valid strategy and you even have DS or BT to help you out in case you get tunnelled for punishing the killer. The killer needs to kill people, and what faster way can he kill people than by going for the same dude? many times tunnelling doesnt work because different perks kicks in. and you also wont get far by ignoring generators as a killer, but it can, often be beneficial for the killer to tunnel.

You ask for people to see it from your perspective, but have you ever stopped and looked from the killers perspective? Gens flying left and right and you have only limited time to kill people. so naturally many killers think tunnelling is the fastest way to do this. and it can be, without DS and BT, but doesnt have to be. Tunnelling can go very wrong, but also very right. and if it helps him, why shouldnt he do it? why shouldnt he use a strategy that is completely valid (even devs said so) and can help him achieve his goals?

I get tunnelled too when i play survivor, but i dont complain about it. i understand it. When i know he's looking for me i simply dont do generators for a little minute because i know hes looking for me. then the moment he starts going for someone else the tunnelling is effectively over because now he have different targets.

Also this isnt about you. Because once hes done tunnelling you, he will move on to the next. he doesnt personally tunnel you, he tunnels the next person after as well. Although sometimes removing simply 1 survivor makes everything else less stressful so he might not tunnel then.

Developers said this game is balanced around 2 survives, 2 dies. If you die in all your 20 battles but some people survive in your games? then the problem sounds like its you, not your team. but it could also be your team thats just a bunch of potatoes.

Twenty games in a row. Tunnelled and camped out of the game.

Started with my stealth build. Tried using more of a running build.

I am not angry that I'm losing, I'm deeply frustrated that I cannot play the game. And given the excuse "I payed money for this game, I can play how I want." I PAYED MONEY TOO! I can't even PLAY the game, let alone how I want to!

You know what killers are also meant to do? Protect generators. That's right. Stop the survivors from repairing generators so they can't escape.

This game has bad tutorials, and I like that. But maybe we should all just stop looking at it all at face-value and re-evaluate.

Death in this game should be a punishment for failing your objective. Not for being the first to be found and always locatable.

no. the job for killers isnt to protect generators its to kill survivors. thats the MAIN job its even described on the tooltips sometimes that summoning the entity is your job. you do that by hooking people. and thus it grant you most BP.

Protecting generators is only useful because it extends the game long enough for us to actually kill you guys, because repairing generators allows YOU to leave. but if no ones doing generators because everyone on the survivor team is a potato then theres no point in protecting them.

Killing survivors is primary, protecting generators is secondary because it extends the game, protecting totems is third, depending on hex totems, can be secondary too. Sure if by protecting generators i can kill more people, then i will do that. but sometimes, tunnelling is the most strategic option so i do that too.

No killer says: i paid money so i can play how i want", we only say that when survivors like you, need us to give you an excuse for why we tunnel you. We're not sorry.

I often camp people when all the generators are done and i dont have a single kill, then survivors start calling me names in the chat afterwards because i got a kill. thats strategic, its not ######### and im not being mean.

If you keep on getting found and cant outrun the killer, then play better what else can i say. Ive never witnessed what you describe and my survivor rank is as high as my killer rank. its exactly the same, yet not once, have i seen myself being tunnelled for several matches in a row. And yes, while i get tunnelled the rest of my team does generators. i will probably die in the end, and sure that sucks. i might not even get many BP for that battle, but thats the CURSE of playing in an assymetrical game like this. you are reliant on teammates who can be potatoes, or in your case, who are unable to outrun killers.

I can really only say ive never ever seen what you describe to such a degree. for me it happens sometimes, but not often. specially not the camping part. And you know what that tells me? your definition of camping and tunnelling someone is vastly different from mine. because i refuse to believe that if i had been in your shoes those 20 matches, i would have considered what happened "tunnelling and camping". i cant tell for sure, because i werent there, but it seems highly unlikely.

Ive had 2 people on hooks right next to each other at all 5 generators left. I "camped" them because they couldnt get far generator wise with only 2 guys doing gens anyway and they were forced to rescue, so why shouldnt i "camp" them? even used deathslinger. Two hooked guy next to each other is the perfect bait. That too, is strategic thats not a dick move, its strategic. you have no right to complain in such a situation. yet of course entitled survivors feel the need to once again, call me names. calling me a camper. but it isnt camping its strategic. i brought up this point to once again say there are clearly different ways you guys see camping contra how i see camping.

What i fail to understand is though, that you know you are unable to play when hooked. and that bothers you. so why do you keep on playing? you will get hooked and you will clearly get hooked a lot untill you become better at hiding. try not to go for altruism points, actually stay low maybe? or go for urban evasion.

I'm not being entitled, and this isn't about having fun. I literally cannot play the game due to tunnellers.

My chance to play the game was taken away as soon as you decided to only target me.

It's not MY mistake that you can spawn next to me then just target me regardless of perks, map or any other elements of the game.

    what?

You complain that the killer targets you when thats his objective? He's supposed to murder you, i dont think he cares about your feelings about not being able to play when you are hooked. And what if he targets someone else then? then THAT survivors chances of being able to play is taken from him. you can make that argument against any given survivor being targeted by the killer, that is his job.

Whether he decides to tunnel which makes it faster to reduce the number of survivors to 3 (thus easing his game) or just slugging random people he meet is up to him.

it sounds to me like you're just angry that you lost. yea sure you werent rescued but you are not entitled to two rescues before you need to die.

if you die on the first hook, well too bad, be more stealthy next time. Leave the game, find a new game, try again. thats how it is. If you "cant play the game" when you are hooked and complain about that then find another game to play, because being hooked is part of the game. You could make that argument about any given game honestly, like PUBG. "oh no im downed and can only crawl now, you took away my ability to play" NOW FEEL BAD! saying you cant play the game because you lost, makes you a sore loser nothing more nothing less. but you are right, you CANT play the game, because you lost. so find a new match and try again.

besides, killers dont target one person only and then after that person dies, just go to the corner and sit and wait. They may target one guy, kill him, then on to the next. thats as legit as it gets. The only time someone would target you and then not play is if you pissed him off and asked for it.

And Killers dont usually spawn next to survivors, they spawn almost across the map. but even if he did spawn at the nearby gen, you should be able to hide regardless.

  • @gatsby said:

As a Rank 4-5 Killer, I get lobbies fast enough that I can be picky with the Survivors that I play against.

Survivors with similar names, lots of flashlights or too many with bloody outfits means I'm just gonna cancel and re-queue. Doesn't work perfectly, but it usually limits the amount of SWFs/Rank 1s that I play against

huh.. ill try and do that too

Ok, so how does deleting me from the game help your cause then, if it will force me away from the game?

I obviously load in as a SOLO with NO ITEM OR INTENT ON GEN-RUSHING.

The argument that someone payed money is invalid because we all did, as I have stated in my own thread. We should all be given a chance to ACTUALLY PLAY THE GAME.

If the killer camps or tunnels, that survivor has zero chance to play. They payed money, so why shouldn't they have fun? The killer said that they get to because they payed money, why can't I? I didn't fork out several hundred dollars to get beaten over the head by a single player with all the (metaphorical) power.

you DID have a chance to play the game and you failed when i caught you. you failed to stay hidden. stop blaming me for your mistakes. how i proceed after i caught you is up to me, how you proceed to do before i catch you is up to you.

stop being entitled. im not responsible for your "fun".

I'm not discussing behaviours here. I'm saying stop using the dumbest excuse to justify it.

    Read. The. Opening. Statement. Again.

Sometimes camping is a valid strategy like when all gens have popped, and sometimes tunneling is is a valid strategy because killing someone is my objective.

but what am i doing, i dont even have to justify myself to some random person. If i feel frustrated and takes out out on a guy hooked on a hook then thats my deal.

dont flashlight pip me then and teabag.

  • @PigMainClaudette said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1176024#Comment_1176024

My point is that I paid money to actually play a game. Kinda can't do that if I get instantly deleted.

It'll make people stop playing the game eventually, then nobody will play.

We COULD just not do it and extend the lifespan of the game.

and we paid money to play as well. its not fun to play against SWFs. its not fun to play if we lose the game because gens pop instantly.

So we tunnel. we run NOED. we run Hex Ruin. we camp sometimes. we do what we can to get kills.

  • @PigMainClaudette said:

So, as of late, there has been a rampant rise within the Killer community of tunnellers and campers. This has been the case ever since the Ruin rework. To me, there is zero justification of this behaviour.

I could reasonably see it back when Dying Light was based on the Obsession dying, and I can sympathise with camping out someone who's done nothing but flashlight and teabag you for a majority of the game. Delete them so they can't be toxic. Ruin their game since they ruined yours. It's ok.

However, I have payed money for this game too. I've bough a physical and digital copy for Xbox, purchased every DLC except for Ash and Leatherface, and even bought some Auric Cells for some cosmetics. So, why is it acceptable for YOU to tunnel or camp, gen-rush, teabag and flashlight at pallets, abuse perks like NoED and Borrowed Time, drag me back during EGC just to see the Entity kill me when I'm the last one alive and try to justify it with "I payed money for this game, I should get to play how I want."

Guess what, genius. I'VE PROBABLY PAYED MORE MONEY THAN YOU!

I don't gen-rush you deliberately, I don't know god-loops that well, I don't bring in any items and the only meta perks I run are Balanced Landing (if you can still call it meta), and Decisive Strike to deal with actual tunnellers on ONE of my two main builds.

I don't face-camp or tunnel you, I don't use only Billy's saw, I give you a free farming session if two of your idiot teammates DC early on you!

I show a level of common courtesy to everyone else. Mutual respect, until you show me that I should do otherwise. So, why is it not reciprocated, huh? I'm not an entitled player, or salty for asking that maybe we could have a mutual understanding of each other.

So. I'll say it one more time. This is not an excuse to forgive your abhorrent behaviour. We ALL payed money for one thing or another in this game.

Yes this is basically an angry rant, but enough is enough. I'm over hearing this dumb excuse. This isn't a free-to-play like Fortnite, so there should be zero reason to say this.

And to all those who think they can justify saying this, you are lying to yourself. I don't even want comments on this. Just for people to read and understand what I'm saying.

    behavior?

if im allowed to tunnel and camp, i can tunnel and camp. who gives you the right to tell others how to play the game.

  • @Liljay09 said:

When killers camp i get angry asf because i just got caught in the first 2 mins. I barely did nothing but probably pallet stunned only 2-3 times before i get camped for no reason. The killers that camp are sometimes prestige or in purple ranks (im in purple). Its annoying because you sit on the hook for about 2 mins and have to die without playing the game that took 13 mins to get in 1 match. If i get saved they tunnel and put me back on the hook. I can understand a patrol but not a camp. The only time i camped is when i went against toxic survivors who all had ds and head on and purple flashlights when it was endgame (i still lost). I can understand if there are new killers releasing or its for archives but other than that no.

If anyone gives a good detailed explanation on how camping or tunneling is fun for both killer and survivor ill shut up.

    Whats wrong with tunneling?

If your objective is to kill, and you kill by hooking people, then the most obvious choice would be to tunnel the person thats closest to dying on a hook? theres nothing wrong with tunneling unless you dont try and protect your gens.

Say i see someone getting rescued and i dont think the rescuing guy has borrowed time, then i will obviously pursue the rescued person to down him again. it makes sense strategically.

But if you mean tunnel as in run around entire game after one guy not caring about whether you ran by someone on a gen? i dont know.

Why would i camp? normally when all gens have popped and the gates are open. specially if no one is dead already, then i camp because i know they will try and save the person. then i get a last fight out of it, and a possible chance for some kills despite having been destroyed all game with no kills. so it just gives me some extra action in a situation i would otherwise lose completely.

ive had a pretty large amount of games where i turned no kills at 5 gens done in to 1 or 2 kills by camping when the gates opened.

  • @Todgeweiht said:

I am having the exact opposite problem, despite being a rank 1 killer I am getting matched against purple ranks and even brown ranks, its kind of annoying because I feel like I outplayed them but then I get to the tally screen to see they are all lower ranks than me and then I just feel I curbstomped them because of their lower skill level.

i can see how that might also be a problem. i mean for every rank 1 and 2 guy i face off against a killer, theres a killer rank 10 (namely me) they are passing around like a blunt

  • @Clevite said:

Extreme analogies aside, it is a tough problem.

I used to just grind through it. You know make each killer "earn" their blood points. But it is just frustrating to me to have crap perks.

So I do the farm them on 1 killer I am good with and put them on another method. I know that is not what you want to do, but it may save you some frustration.

it IS what im doing honestly. it just sucks i cant do it the way its meant to work.

i just had a few matches with a low rank killer the old natural way hoping things might work out but they didnt.

  • @ZoneDymo said:

You go in with nothing equiped to learn how a new killer works...and you are upset you dont do so well....idk man, thats pretty weird of you.

how can you read what i wrote and get a completely different thing out of it compared to what was my point? the hell.

its not about whether i do well or not. its about the fairness of how the match making matches low level killers with high level'ed survivors. The match making is horrendous even at finding people at my own rank as im rank 10 and rutinely fight against rank 2 and 4's. couple that with me leveling up a level 1 guy versus survivors who are fully purple perk'd meaning they aint level 1, then you've created a situation that was never fair to begin with.

The Match making system MUST take into consideration that you only have 1 perk when it ranks you against others. if it cant find other survivors without all 4 perks as well, it could at least pit you versus people of lower rank than you to compensate. instance, me level 1 ghostface rank 10 general, could face off against rank 13-15 who have all their perks. at least that would make it more fair as my lack of perks might be made up by slightly by my higher rank level due to my skills.

but thats not what happens. in fact the opposite often happens, that i fight against rank 2 and 4s as mentioned, so not only is it an uphill battle on that front, but im also 3 perks short.

My entire post is about the fairness of that, nothing more nothing less. The match making system really needs to take more factors into consideration when making a lobby.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1174526#Comment_1174526

Then dont play Level 1 Killers in general, if you dont even want to put BPs in them. This is the other easy solution.

Instead you go for the third easy solution by playing, failing and complaining.

The entire discussion, had you properly read it through my rage, was that when you play a level 1 killer, the match making doesnt take that into account. it doesnt care if you have 1 or 4 perks, if you are level 1 or 50.

thats the point of this discussion, the match making sucks and takes nothing in to consideration which it should. you should NOT face high end people when you dont use high end killers.

and i do want to put BPs in to them what are you even saying? thats why i play them. its just boring to play another killer just to take the BPs i get from him and put them in a killer thats level one to level him up. thats a ######### way of doing things.

i get its the most OPTIMAL way of doing it, but it shouldnt be. the match making should simply take things in to consideration so that one can grow with the killer from level 1.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

You can grind BPs (it is super-easy to do that as Killer) and level your Killer to have some decent Perks and Add Ons. At least this would be better than expecting to do well with a 1 Perk-Killer and complaining afterwards when it did not work out.

you didnt read my post at all because i already pointed this out.

no you just need to git gud and adapt you have no idea how hard survivor is. Playing killer takes no skill you just hold W and press m1. All jokes aside but if your not having fun just take a break, the new mm system will come soon.

Yea i get what you are saying. Survivors are so annoying when i have no perks. well they are always annoying but some are more so than others. even when they can see that im struggling hard they still go to great lengths to teabag me.

My survivor rank is the exactly the same as my killer rank. namely 10.

It better come soon because i like this game. but it frustrates the ######### out of me when this happens. so im rank 10 and i some times get pitted versus rank 1 and 2s? what the #########. Theres a reason im not rank 1 and 2, because my skill level is around that of rank 10. im proud of my rank 10 i dont need to prove anything. thats my skill level, and i expect to be pitted against ppl of equal skill level for the fairness of the game.

i swear what in the ass is going on. who ever made this match making system was either drunk or deliberately wanted to see the world burn.

yea. or if you face 4 man SWFs, might as well chill as well.

people who go 4 man SWFs ruin this game. its an absolute cancer in this game that needs to be removed.

but yea gen rushing is also annoying.

  • @Dead_by_David17 said:

I come on these forums unsurprised at what I see all the time. I swear that large majority of all posts are all the same thing: killers whining about SWF, gen speeds, survivor meta perks, etc. Also claims that the devs are survivor sided and that they don't care about the killer player base.

So, I figured I'd try to compile my evidence against such claims.

    1. The pallet vacuum removal

    2. The Exhaustion nerf

    3. The DS Rework/Nerf

    4. The Mettle of Man nerf, probably the most hard hitting nerf to the survivor meta in the game, ever.

    5. The Balanced Landing nerf

    6. The mere existence of the Spirit

    7. The mere existence of Iridescent heads and how they still havent been nerfed in years.

    8. The mere existence of literally wall hack add-ons such as Myer's Mirrors.

    9. The nerfs to Medkits, toolboxes, and insta heals. Admittedly yes, instas were OP and toolboxes played a large part in gen rushing. But now, both are worthless.

    10. The mere existence of the endgame collapse.

    11. The mere existence of second chance perks like NOED.

    12. The fact that bugs/glitches/exploits that benefit killers (i.e. Legion walking backwards after a survivor while their Deep Wound ticked down) don't get patched for months while ones that benefit survivors (i.e. when Wake Up buffed ALL speeds) get patched in a day.

    13. The fact that the match runs off the killers connection. If there is even a SLIGHT drop in connection quality, the survivors feel it. I literally faced a Legion playing on a Wifi Hotspot some time ago. The worst lag I ever experienced. He said he didn't lag at all.

    14. The fact that killers can get away scott free with holding the game hostage because they're scared of getting Decisive Striked/want their 4k/etc.

    15. The double standard regarding DCing. Why is okay for a killer to DC from the map they don't like, and yet it's frowned upon when survivors DC bc, say, they don't want to face a particular killer?

    16. The fact that camping and tunneling is considered strategic and yet, for example, jumping into a locker to force your DS isnt.

Mate? your opinion is as silly as a god Trumps Agenda.

Please enforce a camping penalty for players that use killers. The game get redundant and reduces the fun factor where we encounter several games in a row that have players that camp constantly after hanging a survivor. Can you implement a mental/visual distortion mechanic like the blindness if they camp around the hanging survivor?

"Please enforce gen rush pelanties for players that use survivors. The game get redundant and reduces the fun factor where we encounter several games in a row that have players that gen rush constantly".

all parts of this game have things that are unfun, your gen rushing isnt exactly a blessing either

why would anyone in their right mind get triggered by that? Like I said, at this point is pretty much tradition. When I play killer i couldnt care less if they tbag or not in the gates, as long as they dont do it during a chase or to taunt

its not a tradition its unecessary, and even if it is a tradition to some, then its a stupid tradition.

you cant make up your own ideas of whats tradition or not. Tea bagging has always been used as a way of ridiculing in games, so why the hell should it suddenly mean: bless you good killer, and good bye?

it doesnt. its still a ridicule, so dont tea bag.

That's pretty much standard procedure. I didn't touch Deathslinger until he was at least level 35 with some decent perks, otherwise it's just a stomp, particularly because I play at red ranks.

I used to never even consider playing a killer until I had at least BBQ and Chili and Ruin on them, just to give me a chance as I learned how to play them.

One of the biggest problems with the ranking system is they treat survivor and killer the same when they clearly aren't.

Each killer plays quite differently, and should have individual killer rankings, survivors are literally just different skins over the same abilities.

You can also burn iridescent shards at the shrine of secrets on perks you already own for a quick 150k BP, but keep in mind shards buy things BP cannot.

i dont burn iridecent shards on that as i use it to buy teachable perks that i dont wanna farm for (like Nurses calling).

i did actually play deathslinger from level 1 and im level 36 with him now. he was kinda fun but i also played from rank 17 since there was a rank reset. im level 11 now tho. he can be frustrating due to his slow speed but at the same time, i think hes fun.

Playing the Oni at level 1 how ever, just kill me already.

  • @ZoneDymo said:

They said they were working on a system where you would have rank PER killer, so a new killer would be at rank idk 15 or so, so you have some room to play around and figure out how they work.

    sounds great.

  • @28_stabs said:

You can also play the "easy" mode until you get all perks. Just play survivor.

Playing another killer and just slamming BP in to the ONI for start perks and level 15 isnt actually that bad of an idea.

Since the Ruin rework doesn't act like a gate to red ranks anymore, I suggest slugging more as a lot of these red ranks only know how to do gens.

ill try that. but if i slug them i have to slug them all, otherwise they dont really die

  • @[Deleted User] said:

What do you mean? It's perfectly fair for a rank 1 survivor to face off against killers as low leveled as 17-18.

On a serious note it's really unfair and it will continue to be this way for quite a few more weeks until they actually decide to implement the new ranking system, though it might not fix the issue, there isn't much else you can do except pray to the entity that you won't meet survivor team six again.

(The entity tortures killers confirmed guys.)

yea.. this is why i hate ranking up because you really need those perks to survive. at least i do.

When i was lower rank, like, after the rank reset, it was easier to manage.

Which loop? We need more information if you want answers.

one of those regular small loops with some car tires and a car i think with a pallet in. but he didnt drop the pallet. i was simply not gaining on him. no vaults or anything just us running in cricle. i was literally just NOT gaining on him. is there really a "pro" way of running around a ######### car? i mean is it because i played the Oni that my large size makes me take more time to get around an edge?

is there a pro survivor way of somehow slithering through an edge to make a turn, that im somehow unaware of to cut time?

i have no clue it just frustrated me as im 115% speed and im clearly meant to gain on him at least when we just run in a damn circle without vaulting or anything. but i didnt. at all.

    werent even mind gaming.

  • right.

    any other real Oni tips?

I mean...you killed everyone. I'm not sure how toxic and bullet proof the quick sabo can really be if you still slaughtered everyone (I "only" got 3 of the 4 in the match I described. He got to the hatch as I downed him).

I suppose we'll just have to agree to disagree here because I love the change.

i would like to point out, that i dont mean toxic as its toxic that a survivor uses a feature thats been implemented.

i find it toxic of the developers to add a feature that they KNOW is going to be SWF abused to insane degreese.

i had a group that did somewhat well but i would not categorize them as great, because barely anyone did gens and they just ran around me. a great SWF grp would have made this work and i would have been left pissed. its like a secondary DS because i cant make it to the next hook, and i have to fight my way through people already blocking, i dont have time keep on hitting people.

couple that with the hook being taken down in what? 5 seconds? i have no time to find a new hook and i lose my downed survivor.

Just watching that Toxic Sabo guy video from Monto makes me want to get corona virus intentionally.

but to be fair, i have not seen it happen a lot, but when people do it, its absolutely insane how much you can destroy a killers game with one button.

  • @Aura_babyy said:

    Doing gens is toxic

    Sabotaging hooks is toxic

    Unhooking survivors is toxic

    Hooking survivors is toxic

    Killing survivors is toxic

    Dropping pallets is toxic

    Breaking pallets is toxic

    Using perks is toxic

    Not using perks is toxic

Who wants to add to the great list of *if it exists, it's toxic

its not toxic a survivor does what the game allows him to do, its toxic that the developers are so drunk they dont look at what they release in to this game.

an ability to block me from hooking + removing in within seconds? in a coordinated SWF?

no thank you. thats the stupidest thing ive ever heard.

  • @tippy2k2 said:

I had SWF abuse the ######### out of it. But then I just smacked the sabatour. They could get away with it once but I overtook them quick enough since I just kept pressure on them with smackings. If they were too far away, I just went to another hook instead of walking to the hook I knew they'd sabotage.

As a survivor, I'm also happy with it because sabotaging was basically worthless because it took so long. The killer could walk halfway across the dang map before the stupid hook clanged down.

i got a 4k in the match im describing so i won too.

but it doesnt change the fact that the ability to ######### a hook within mere seconds is not OP as hell

  • when you run Hex: Devour hope they do.

I'm not trying to be a jerk, but those are noob ranks. I consider myself still pretty bad at survivor and killer, but regularly hit rank 3 as surv and 7 as killer. It is a big deal if you don't "recall all the perks" because it means you don't understand the meta. You should play more and create your own opinion, not base your opinion on any streamer/youtuber.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1161370#Comment_1161370

"Antagonistic?" Please. One person has no clue what they're talking about and based their opinion on an internet personality.

The other isn't even responding to the matter at hand and made a knee-jerk reaction to the tune of "killers good, survivors bad."

I'm sorry if you consider my post "toxic," but I was making a fair point. Both, while expressing their personal truths, were also expressing personal bias and IGNORance (one even completely IGNORed the premise of the post.) It makes for bad discussion when people come in with an agenda that "one side good, one side bad" and ultimately just makes debate pointless.

The moment you start being condencenting every point you wanted to make goes out the window.

ofc they are noob ranks i never claimed to be great at this game. Base my opinion on streamers? i dont. why would i? how would that make sense?

If i based my opinion on people like Monto id come to the conclusion that nothing is a problem because he can seemingly make all killers work, but i cant. i cant see the usage of all perks either.

i have formed, exactly my own opinion. ive played the game enough to see certain problems including the fact that this game wasnt meant for SWFs and gen times are too short.

ive risen in rank since the rank reset otherwise i was around rank 10 with both survivor and killer. Call it noob rank call it what you want but its a casual rank and casual is what i am. ive also had this game for a few years, playing on and off, and is over all level 70. maybe that doesnt mean anything to you, but you dont need to be a pro to be heard. casuals should be heard too.

But dont assume things about people when you dont know a damn thing about them. Dont assume i base my opinion on youtubers when the only one i even remotely watch every now and then is Monto who can do all these crazy things and mind games that i cant even do. i base my opinion on myself and what i can do and what i think makes sense.

  • this game was never balanced around SWFs of 4 man groups, so when they appear, they basically break the game.

Are you really complaining that theres looping in the game? Do you want survivors to just stop for you?

im not complaining that survivors are looping nor gen rushing, im complaining that the game was made in a way that they thought THAT was the summit of fun. rather than focusing on actually staying hidden, they have made a game thats over in 6 minutes and one guy running from one boring loop to the other.

    @TheLastGreatStar said:

Stopped reading at 'nerfing some of the killers abilities'

I am all for difference of opinion, but you can't be serious with that. Survivors have DS, Unbreakable, Borrowed Time, Adrenaline, Dead Hard, Sprint Burst, Instant Heals, not to mention pallets, jungle gyms and infinite loops. This game has been and probably always will be balanced in the survivors favor. You need to seriously play as killer for a while and then tell me this thread makes sense. I've been rank 1 on both sides, so I am talking about things objectively before I get called 'killer main'

Pretty much what THIS guy said.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1160777#Comment_1160777

This guy didn't even read the OP. Or he plays killer so exclusively, that he doesn't know the survivor perks.

This is the quality of discussion on this board folks, don't take anything you read here too seriously.

not really mate i have highest level with survivors (12ish) but yes i have played killers (15ish) more. i just play survivor better. but i dont recall all the god damn perks in this game, neither for killer nor for survivors.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1160777#Comment_1160777

No, mate, he meant buffing the PERK "Sole Survivor" from Laurie Strode- the one you don't see because it's broken but in a whole different way than ds or ooo.

oh. right. thanks. i dont really remember all perks for survivors even though im.. oddly enough highest level with them and not killers.

  • @gatsby said:

@Beardedragon My idea is that Sole Survivor now makes scratch marks fade faster as well as disrupting aura reading. So if you really are the Sole Survivor your scratches fade 6 seconds faster and the Killer can't see your aura within a 72 metre radius.

Now that is a perk that could get some value and finally not be meme tier like it has been since its release. Stack it with Lightweight/Iron Will and you'll pretty much turn into a ghost by endgame

oh it was an idea. i was thinking it might be an idea, but i dont have my head wrapped 100% around survivor perks, so i didnt know if you were mentioning a buff from an already made perk.

well in that case i disagree like.. 150%.

The game was designed and balanced around the idea of a killer vs 4 solo survivors that had to play together without actually knowing or talking to each other. hence why there are perks showing one anothers position.

so no, Solo survivors dont need a buff. SWFs on the other hand, need to be removed.

  • @Boba said:

This game used to be a lot of fun to play but now with the reduction of toolbox progression and the hatch being able to be closed by the Killer. Makes damn near impossible to survive. Especially with the killers seemingly to be overpowered over the survivors abilities. . Game no longer fun as you never have an opportunity to escape and it seems your best bet is to only try to heal and rescue other survivors from hooks. Not fun. Not really worth the time to even try to play or progress. . Dead by daylight team I would suggest Changing and nerfing some of the killers abilities and taking away the ability to close the hatch so that the game might be evenly squared-off between Survivor and killer and return the fun back to the game.

as a survivor? this game is no longer fun as the KILLER!.

in fact it never really was with the gen rushes and constant looping and bullying the killer.

  • its quite simple really.

make 2 queues, one allowing for everyone including SWFs, and another only allowing for solo players.

this game was designed around solo survivors trying to find and help each other. being an SWF counter acts that and makes the game for the killer impossible, at least those of us with lower skill.

i dont want to play against SWFs and it would help to know when i am and when im not.if i could queue up against only solo players or at the very least, max 2 SWFs at once, this game would be much more balanced.

  • Because they dont want killers to have any form of power over the game. only survivors are allowed to dictate if they succeed or not.

Deep wound is a small slap in the face like: here, we gave you something, now be happy".

but its bullshit. Deep Wound sucks.

When the entire timer runs out of the chain but you dont hit, the injured guy should suffer from something else than deepwound.

  • @gatsby said:

I had a game on crotus penn aslyum where I could not slow down gens. That map is already rough for Killer as is. I was playing Legion and no one would heal until their gen was done. They'd always split up so no more than two of them were ever nearby. They'd wait until the absolute last second for saves. And anytime I got in a chase they'd finish a gen.

I didn't learn anything that game. My chases finished quick but I was only getting a hook per gen. So I just left confused. I just didn't have enough time. Nothing I did would work. They even worked on gens while deep wounded after a frenzy.

you dont. this game is rigged to survivors favor.
