This only time his power is in issue is when hes guarding the basement or a hook and no one likes him for it and its his iconic douche thing he does.
you ask for this nerf so you can be guaranteed to go in and save your buddies.
you are not entitled to everyone in your team surviving. do generators and let him die. you still win with 3 survivors.

Body blocking a hook is a normal strategy for survivors. Especially with perks like We're Gonna Live Forever and Mettle of Man. I understand it can be annoying to verse as ive have been against a full squad of swf trying to body block hooks. But its no reason for the killer to get salty and facecamp.
face camping isnt salty. its a strategy. if you get out with 3 guys and 1 guy dies, you still have a victory. the Killer loses.
OP talks about a single time hes been messaged, but when ive been looped and flashlight bipped all the time and decides to tunnel a guy and camp him to death, im being threatened EVERY single time by toxic survivors.
i legit dont trust any survivor on the forums saying they would never be toxic. i always get some sort of ######### thrown my way if i decide to go ahead and camp for what ever reason.
i either dont talk in the chat at all, or simply say GG. i dont start flaming people but clearly camping someone invokes the urge to trash talk others in survivors.

If you tunnel each of those survivors. Sure.
how does tunneling change the fact you have to capture them X amount of time to get them killed unless you camp them?
it doesnt. Tunneling doesnt matter

Well it's frowned upon because while the immersed player is doing well not being seen and never being chased - he's also just offloading that burden on the other three survivors. Sometimes you got to take aggro or people start dying - and if you got one or more blendettes, survivors start to realize they are the one carrying them by either intentionally or not, distracting the killer from looking harder for them. And then paying the price by not being able to do gens, losing out on light bringer and risking their unbroken emblem - for people who would not do the same for them.
he's offloading a burden on other survivors by doing 3 generators alone?

I'd rather get facecamped by an insidious bubba than play stealthy. ( to me ) stealth is the most boring strategy in the game , both as survivor and as killer.
no ones asking you to play stealthy, but those that want to should be rewarded equally.

Most people assume the way they play is the right way and if you don't play like them you are playing wrong and useless. I'm a stealthy player. It's funny how many times I have a game where I did 2 or 3 gens by myself, performed 3 or 4 safe hook removals, healed several people, and maybe even knocked out a hex totem only to get messages from other survivors afterwards that I'm a trash player. Apparently I have to hook farm with the killer, not work on gens, and die to be a good player according to most of the survivors that send me messages.
yea. i mean it sounds like not all people see all ends of the spectrum here.
im not even asking for stealthy players being granted more points than distractors or even taking points for those that distracts and swarms. both people are important, im just asking that stealthy players are also granted some value BP wise so that being stealthy is also a viable way to get BPs.
because the end of the day is, you NEED someone to be stealthy to continuously do generators. but that guy might not cash in a very large sum of BPs compared to basically everyone else.

Being found doesn't equal to being butchered. When you play solo you are like, well at least he is chasing me and not them because a fair amount of time you will find people playing horrible, straight up garbage players that are unable to loop 1min +
So is it going to help to stay hidden for longer? no it will help when you take over and show the killer what is what.
Why do you assume people that are stealthy play solo and arent team players? players that are stealthy dont necessarily let people stay on hooks. Being stealthy doesnt mean you dont sprint, it simply means you do what you can to avoid being seen by the killer, unless you have to like taking protection hits. Many survivors dont give a flying ######### they just swarm the killer because they can. and the fact that they can, is super sad. the killer has no power.
And also why is this some sort of Chased vs stealthy guys? its not about whether you shouldnt get points for being chased, there should just ALSO be given adequate points to those that stay stealthy and do gens.
if everyone stays hidden, then you can do many gens without losing anyone. thats good too. its effective in the early game. early game dont even need a distraction

ormond is NOT a map designed by the new standart.
i am talking about maps like Hawkins Lab or the Dead Dawg Saloon here.
you should be easily able to mindgame the pallets on these maps, even as a medicore gamer.
not sure what map Dead Dawg Saloon is but Hawkins Lab is an okay map ill give you that.

the pallets are unsafe.
you can mindgame them and get hits, which rewards skillful gameplay.
yea... they are not unsafe. maybe for rank 1 players, but for the rest of us they are not. you literally just read how people hated the Ormond estate map due to the amount of pallets and pallet loop sizes.
you are the only person ive met that says that pallets are great, so ill take what you ay as a grain of salt.
Maybe the "pros" like pallets, not that ive ever met em, but the rest of us, you know, majority of the killers, probably dont. at least not when the loop becomes too strong and long.
Some loops are almost impossible to mind game. it might "reward" skillful gameplay, but that just means it rewards the best, and makes the mediocre and worse players lose the game entirely.
-
i see..
and why is that tho? why doesnt the trap activate when they are no longer slugged or unhooked? why does a gen need to be done? and if its the end game, my traps are basically useless? because no gens can be done?
-
@Endstille said:
Thing is survivors can be chased for a long amount of time, depending on the killer and obviously the skill of each side. However stealth is utterly boring, nobody neither killer or survivor has time to waste. Also interacting with the other side is basicly the whole game so tryin to like get rewarded for not interacting with it is like something that should not be rewarded imo.
I know you disagree as you have another viewpoint on the matter but thing is that survivor chases are not that short depending on skill in chase.
but just because its boring doesnt mean it shouldnt be rewarding to AVOID getting butchered?
the stealthy blokes often get the gens done. they need credit too.

@Mister_xD said:
actually i kinda like what they do with newer maps: have many pallets but therefore have them unsafe.
imo they should rework the older maps to work like that and it'd be a lot better.
what? you like to have more pallets? how does more pallets make the game better? it extends the already ridiculous loops this game has and the insane chases you can get

You would not believe how many times ive ran the killer around for like 5 minutes only to get down and see my teammates ( usually blendettes ) urban evading around the map. Cases like that are the reason why people dislike stealthy survivors. because most of the time they are just playing for themselves ( not saying you do this ).
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1126525#Comment_1126525
and the guy who was running the killer around the whole time allowed you to do that. if the killer was not on him then you would not have been able to do any of that. The killer would have been either Proxy camping or patrolling gens. I am not sure how the "Gen Jockey" unhooking others aids in the guy getting chased by the killer the whole game escape. from my personal experience those kind of players usually dont 99 % the gates, instead they open them and get the heck out. rather than taking a hit for their teammates.
thats not completely true. a stealthy guy remains stealthy. ive played it stealthily even though we had no one distracting him.
while a distractor is great, its not a MUST for me to do what i need. its only really needed in the late game if the last gens are too close.

Ormond is the biggest pallet problem in the game. I swear I broke 18 pallets and there was STILL a good 10 left.
i was LITERALLY just pallet looped in this stage which caused me to write my thread. ive been pallet looped before, but this made me very frustrated.
Being pallet looped like this is the reason wars starts.

@Avis_Deene said:
I can’t loop very well so I rely on being stealthy, but that said, as long as I cleanse totems, safely unhook and heal and take hits for my teammates, I do well enough with blood points. I even get in the Killers way so they can target and hook me in order to give my previously hooked teammates a chance to heal or finish a gen.
I do think the game should be a little bit more of a challenge for Survivors though. As things stand, they don’t fear the Killer as much as they should. Heck, when I see Piggy, I sneak up to her and try to Boop her Snoot. If I see Ghost Face peeking at me, I crawl behind something and slowly edge out to peek back at him for fun. The fear factor is basically gone, I know that after playing the game for a while that it’s natural, but the devs need to shake things up a little bit.
Yes but you can only unhook and get points because someone screwed up and werent stealthy enough.
With a team of stealthy guys, theoretically not many should be rescued. and you can only rescue so many people if few are hooked.
-
Loops with pallets are a problem because there are ######### ton of them, and gens are rushed insanely much. Those two are a volatile coctail.
Pallets (which there are way too many of) extends the game way too much considering how short the game CAN be and often are. Often when you have someone looping super well the rest gen rush. So thats just the worst of both worlds right there.
It makes me want to uninstall the game. actually thats why i uninstalled it in the first place a year ago.
-
Lets just face it.
i have never, as in NEVER, met a killer, nor seen a streamer who was a killer saying: I absolutely love to be looped". and i get that its a skill thing (im just mediocre) + perk skill (i have very few teachables).
Loops are horrible, imo mainly due to pallets. That is my opinion, its not the length of it, its the Pallet i hate. Sure there are those small Microloops which doesnt matter but generally speaking, i just hate pallets. i dont care about windows, i care about pallets. And i care because you can go from 0 gens done to 5 gens done, in a single chase due to all those pallets.
You chase a guy, that guy runs from pallet loop to pallet loop and sometimes i keep chasing them JUST to see where this will go. how many pallets can i break in a single game? how long would i be chasing this person? ive broken over 10 pallets in a single chase. Sure im being outplayed, i 100% understands that, but even so.
and those chases always gets extended by Dead hard or some other sprint perk + a good DS as well, so it didnt even END with those pallets.
I like looking for survivors, and i like chasing around after them, but i DONT like running from one pallet loop to the next. i HATE the fact that seemingly some survivors knows exactly where all pallets are across the entire map. they just homing missile towards the next one then we're back again. Why arent pallets COMPLETELY random? no survivor should know "where'ish" they are. they shouldnt be able to know, at all untill they see it.
Some of those largest loops, i cant mind game those so i dont even bother. i just run around till they drop a pallet, then on to the next.
I dont mind it the first few times but when im chasing a guy and all 5 gens are done, then it makes me realize just how sad the state of this game really is. Whether thats due to the strength and numbers of loops in the actual game, or just because Gens are rushed too fast i dont know. its probably a combination of both, given that Gen times are already pretty cancer the way they are now.
Yea sure im not supposed to keep chasing that little guy but still. sometimes i just run towards two pallet loops and i know he runs to the next and i know it, im like: yea.. humans sometimes do things they know harm themselves but they do it anyway, like cutting etc. thats how i feel when i chase after these loopers. i know its stupid and it breaks my game but i just keep doing it out of self loathing. out of anger.
Over all, would it be too much to ask for, that the developers removed the pallets? or at least without half of them? Looping with pallets sucks. And no, not the micro loops, regular pallet loops. I dont mind looping when pallets arent a thing because eventually i WILL catch up. but With a pallet? the chase takes a hard break, and it starts over.
No killer likes these loops. Many good killers can probably deal with them, but ive never heard a killer say: yay i like long pallet loops", please drop some more pallets because i have PLENTY of time to kill you all".
-
Too much looping and too little focus on being stealthy. This game doesnt need stealthy because you can just loop anyway. you are also not rewarded for a stealthy play as a survivor. I want less Loop potential, whether it by changing the map layout or reducing the amount of pallets, i dont care. Pallets are my biggest grief though.
Pallet down --> mind game a bit, --> run off to next loop --> rinse and repeat.
-
I think DS is one of the few cancers of this game. i mean killers already have precious little time to work, so if everyone in the enemy team brings DS its an aditional 4 extra chases you have to engage in.
Which is pretty mental.
-
@Tactless_Ninja said:
It's the opposite end of killer not getting points for killing everyone within the first 3 minutes. There needs to be some form of engagement outside simply doing the objective then leaving.
Besides, it's that guy getting hit who kept you from being found.
i understand that, and i dont want to discredit the guy who distracts. they SHOULD be rewarded as such. but we cant forget that everyone is working in a survivor team. i could argue, that ive done maybe 3 out of 5 generators alone, that also counts for something. yet actually staying hidden didnt reward me and and the gens ive repaired, bringing us closer to victory, also doesnt net me all that much.
Why does staying hidden not reward me anything? Why must i get chased to get points?
Its worth mentioning that if stealthy play was an actual thing (and the game was changed around that fact), we wouldnt need a reason to distract the killer. because right now, the points arent added evenly even though everyone does important jobs.

I just dont understand the idea behind bringing a breakable wall in killer shack. It is completely unnecessary given it's a wonderful design and the loop is decent within it and not at all OP. Just for the record, once the pallet is down you eliminate strong loops so why would you insert a breakable wall then as u have just killed the fun inside of the shack. Please reconsider this and I hope sincerely other maps having killer shack not to resemble this new Mao's one. Otherwise, I am afraid that I will be leaving this game cuz Dead by Daylight has lost its iconic design and killed the fun in the game. Please let me have your thoughts on this. Not to mention that the new map having no legit loops. It makes me want to have the killer killing me right from the start because I wont enjoy those nonsense design loops.

goal is to kill survivors. Why do you deny the fact that THAT is his goal? why should he let a survivor out?

Im a little confused here. Does the perk receive some sort of buffs since we ask for nerfs?

Truthfully, its the attitude of killer mains nowadays.
Having played since release I've seen killer get easier, survivor get harder. FULL STOP.
Infinites gone, vaulting/perk/map/pallet nerfs, bloodlust added, end game timer added, hatch close added. All this has made being killer easier and survivor harder since release.
2 escapes, 2 kills is the devs unit of metric. You don’t have to like that but it’s whats given the survivors all their nerks and all the killers current buffs.
You look at the SB vs. NOED debates that happend at release all those years ago. SB now is mediocre at best where as NOED is still a high tier perk.
Killers now are up around 70% kills due to the trajectory of the game and the devs metric system, unless you feel their metric system is bad, in which case they can undo all the changes I've just mentioned....
It's only been recently that killers have started getting push back from devs because the state of the game is disconnecting survivors who know a game is going to end in a 4k so why bother for 3k BP.
And what do we see? Thread after thread recently of killers whining. People talk about salty survivors alot in this forum but ignore the elephant in the room.
my lord. could you SCREAM survivor main any harder than what you do?
-
@crossboy said:
Can people please stop making huge judgements about the state of the game based on queue times and what 3 people on the forums say?
It means literally nothing. Without hard data to back it up, you cannot draw conclusions about the number of players leaving.
do you think this is a science project?
if you wanna know if people leave or not, its possible to see in steam how many people are playing the different games.
and yes, people can make judgements on a game based on their own opinions, its quite common. specially when one person has an opinion about the game that suddenly a lot of people share.
-
why does this game even have so many pallets? ive run for over 3 minutes against one guy that kept looping me. ive destroyed over 10 pallets in a single game in a single chase it was insane.
This game should favor more stealth and less looping. Players should try and remain undetected not purposefully come out and loop the killer. at least thats my vision for this game.
That there are perks that even extends that chase is insane.
Reduce the amount of pallets or make them completely random so that survivors DONT know exactly where they are because they always seemingly know where they are.
-
I think the game should be more focused around stealth for survivors rather than the ability to loop and get chased for 3+ minutes.
Like, less looping potential (fewer pallets and such) and maybe thicker fog to actually remain stealthy.
if you are found, you should not get away like that. but you should also be able to hide better

They randomly spawn in the same set locations. In one game there will be a pallet on the end of a jungle gym but the next game on the same map there won't be one there. There's just a pattern of where they may appear, also it's easier to spot with the third person camera on survivor than it is on the narrow first person killer camera.

Not really sure why Killers feel so entitled to a 4k, there should always be a chance for a survivor to escape, even if its not that high. The hatch mechanics by themselves are still killer sided because all killers have faster movement speed so they can cover more ground searching for it
but if you force the killer to hook, then what about DS? because thats a good part of the reason many killers dont always try hook when he has one on the hook already or the gate is open or theres 1 gen left. its simply more safe to slug.
We are not entitled to 4k and you are not entitled to survive. but it still is a killers job to actually kill. If i increase my chances of you getting out by trying to hook so you Decisive strike out of my arms and maybe try and save the guy i have on a hook as well, then why would i? i can just leave you on the ground.
This is espcially true if the gates are open or theres only 1 gen left.

The unhooker is not invulnerable while unhooking, but the person on the hook is and it is possible to accidently hit them, so you have to be careful with that.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1111180#Comment_1111180
I guess the best argument is that BT and DS exist, so instead of one hit you might need three. If the unhooked guy is a quite good looper it might also be a mistake to concentrate on him.
that actually brings me to another question. are Pallets fixed on the game maps? or do they spawn randomly?
because seemingly some people knows exactly where they are at all times.
they dont appear to me to be random, which i think they should be. at least it would make it harder for survivors to do these annoying loops. when ive been chasing a guy for 3 minutes straight (which is stupid of me to do but i get annoyed) then i tend to camp him till he dies.
If they are random, at least i guess Kudos to the people that can loop well. as sickening it is to be against though.

Borrowed time. The survivor has 20 seconds to be hit, during which they are then affected with deep wounds. The timer of this does not go down while mending or while running. It's better to chase the unhooker in cases of borrower, by the way, because they might also have decisive strike in case they get tunneled straight off of hook.
i only thought legions attack timer wouldnt start when chased, i figured borrowed time was different.
that doesnt seem all that fair.
Also when someones being unhooked, whats the best course of action? because ive tried to hit an injured guy trying to unhook, but for some reason, that hit didnt do a damn thing. its like when you unhook, you are invulnerable or something. i need to wait for the person to be unhooked before i can hit?
-
Can someone explain to me how the ######### Borrowed time works? because according to the DBD wiki, the hooked guy who i hit during borrowed time after he was unhooked, has 20 seconds to heal up. but i chased him for 20 seconds and the timer didnt go down and suddenly the effect just wore off and he was injured. he was never put in to a dying state.
i feel cheated. Why did the timer stop?

Rank effects it because any killer under rank 10 would hear the notification and immediately go to another hook, if you think experienced players don't know how to deal with things more than less experienced players then I don't know what to tell you.
what if no other hook is nearby? sometimes the nearest other hook is further away than what you can make.
you live in some weird bubble in which 2.5 second sabotage time is okay, this isnt related to skill. because they would just follow the killer to find the next hook and do the same there.

you dont need the video to know that removing hooks with 2.5 second speed is unfair

I see killers on these forums all the time talking about this game being survivor sided, and I am not trying to argue that it is or it isn't. I simply want to know where the survivors are that make them feel this way. I can assure you they aren't the survivors I end up being paired with nearly every match
The majority of the time I end up being paired with survivors that:
- hook farm with killers and rarely attempt to do a generator
- just have to run and heal a slugged team mate even though the killer is standing right there
- do nothing but hide in lockers the whole game.
- basically do anything and everything stupid thing they can to make the game easier for the killer
What I wouldn't give to be paired with survivors that play like they have a brain in their head
its not about the survivors its about how the game was made.
the math between doing gens and chases dont add up for how little time it takes to repair generators. so when survivors also run perks that extends that chase with dead hard or even decisive strike or else, it just makes the math even more less in favor of the killer.
its not one survivor thats OP, its the game thats rigged wrong.
