It is, im not saying I'd give BVHR I ride to the airport at 3am or anything. I just mean the game is great and I hope it's just a lot of talk but I keep reading and hearing ps4 user say they won't be supporting the game or if it doesn't come by such and such they won't play anymore.ThePloopz said:
They never gave a date and on their twitter they said “upcoming weeks” for this exact reason but on the anniversary dev stream we were told it should take 2,3 weeks at most so that’s the time frame people were going by. You can tell they didn’t even think it would take this long because they gave the shrine return date way in advance and gave the date for the double bp event in advance. I personally haven’t played this since the ptb ended so it can come whenever for me. My question for you is why do you feel like you owe them? You’re not the only one who feels this way so I’m not trying to single you out or anything, I’m just curious because yes they made the game but you paid for the game and the dlc’s that you wanted so to me that’s a fair trade.BOSS242 said:

23 full days since they announced it was in certification. That's a long wait.
So it's been 26 days since it was turned in for cert to Microsoft/Sony and they announced that the 12th would be PC's release. Or 17 business days.
Also, I remember them saying "in the next couple weeks" which taken literally means two not three but the phrase is often used flippantly to imply "later on" not really as an indicator of an actual timeline.
SO yes it's been a really really long time coming for this patch. But I dont really think anyone can say they missed deadline. They have never given a date so how could it be past due?
So compensation or any talk like that is just silly. BVHR owes us nothing! They've made one of my favorite games ever and I feel like I owe them, so if it's my patience and understanding they want? They got it
Also I'll be taking that patch as soon as you can get it to me! Please and thank you X-D
I'm just saying I love this game and I'm still excited for new content albeit very watered down excitment. So I dont want people turning on the game if they do I'll never find a match! We've already started calling this game "dead by lobby" due to the past couple of nights! X-D -
The killer would win every time! This could work if you also stop showing which gen is being worked or remove gen aura from the killer. If all you have to do is patrol gens until you find the one being worked that's too easy.Tsulan said:
Right now, the devs don't know what to do with the hatch.Runiver said:@Gorillastache said:
As someone who plays a decent amount of both sides, I can say I hate the hatch as either side. As a killer it just feels so bad to kill 2 and down a 3rd while they still have 3 gens up and know that if you hook you're probably just going to let the other one get away despite wrecking them. In addition, hatch stand offs are so stupid. You just [BAD WORD] stand in one spot hoping you see the survivor sneaking up and can get lucky enough to time it so you can grab them out of it.As a survivor it creates such a toxic environment. I can't say how maddening it is to get put on a hook with two already dead and see the other guy just sitting in a [BAD WORD] closet by the hatch because that's what's going to get him the most points. It's equally as frustrating to have to sit there and wait while the slow as ######### bleed out timer ticks down. If we didn't get the gens done than we don't deserve to escape. Simple as that. The worst part is it's worth more than escaping regularly. It's like you get rewarded for getting your ass kicked with a bonus 2500 bp.
The hatch is just toxic for everyone involved and should really be removed from the game. I know they are working on changes for it but just remove it entirely. It's not hard to get the gates open if your team has any idea what they are doing. The game is already survivor favored. And if they don't then that's part of a team game. Sometimes you get ######### teammates. Die and move on or rank up so they are at least semi-competent.
I disagree.
The hatch as you state is exactly as it should be : an easier escape for the one letting you to die.
It's the original concept of the game, when the game wasn't a scoobydoo fest of altruism like it is now. (Even tho it had HUGE flaws before too, but it wasn't in the concept, it was in the mecanics)They're just turning dbd into a stupid teamgame, while the original idea is to make survivors to have to cooperate until it's not necessary anymore, and to let someone else to die in order to get an easier escape for yourself.
And yes, it's sort of "toxic", but it's the original concept of the game : either you take the risk of saving (and put yourself at a stake, which is why it's so heavily rewarding to save), or you just repair and eventually let die to get the hatch/exit gates. The main issue comes from the fact that the game is turning into a teamgame, especially with the omnipresence of SWF, and the already clear advantage survivors do have, which is rather unrelated to the hatch itself.
As a killer, I don't mind the last one getting away. I just dislike the eventual hatch stand-off, but I usually simply hit and accept it.
My proposal was to:
- remove the hatch. (Most people stopped reading after this)
- remove the gen regression during this stage
- give the last survivor a bonus to repair speed
This way, the last survivor still has a chance. He has to work for that escape, but it's not a free escape like the hatch. -
How about 1% to movement?

I wish they'd focus a little more on cleaning up the game instead of adding new killers as often. It would be cool to see leader boards or a better stat system. Maybe making new game modes or adding things for survivors to do other than gens to slow things down a bit.
I think that's kinda what OP was saying spend a little more time with fit and finish over new content. -

I dont think many will boycott and I hope after the release everyone goes back to playing and being happy with the game. But there's no doubt in my mind that BVHR has damaged their bottom line. I think the hype dying down from watching the PC people use the new stuff for so long before we get it was the most damaging thing! To ask the prices they want for an outfit, they needed that special "I got something special that few people have" feeling in our stomach if they hope to get that deep in our pockets. Nope, no reason to unlock killer anything if you dont use it or just want it.JammyJewels said:Why hold up PC players though just because Consoles require certification? I've logged in every single day and checked updates. Sure, it's taking it's time. But considering the huge amount of content I'm glad it's coming regardless. I don't play as much anymore merely due to the fact that I've done my best to prepare for the new content.
Also, off topic questions, I'd like to ask:
Should I prestige my characters?
+
Should I unlock all Killer teachables? I don't see much point to having them since I prefer survivor and the reduced reward for buying already owned perks in the Shrine.
And as for prestige, it's a personal choice but make sure you have all the teachables unlocked that you want to use, if they not going to use Katys new stuff and you have all the teachables you want that character to use then you can go for it, but honestly I see little value in it seeing how with the new store who cares about bloody clothes anymore and yeah the web resizes but its always back up to 40+ or all the way to 50 before I get all the perks I want to run back to level 3's anyway. So... your call
-
I absolutely love this game, and I like BHVR, and I think the Devs seem like good people that I believe care about console players just as much as the PC players. I dont think there's anything malicious going on here, BUT to say there wasn't a very huge mistake made by BHVR is being too polite.
So PC folks stop defending and think if you'd be ok with this? if consoles had it and the PTB and you were the ones waiting 5 or 6 months now with absolutely no changes to the game at all and then you get to watch as console makes videos showing off all the great new stuff and the devs move on with the celebration without you. Do you remember how bad the game had gotten before the update? I remember Tyde Time and the other youtubers all saying how until the update they were moving on to other games. We're still playing that game!! My guess you wouldn't ok with that at all!
A small company like this one will most definitely feel the financial pain they have caused themselves with this misstep. Every single person I know that plays this game on console has decide to reduce or not make any purchases for this game at all, and the sad part is that most of it is not to boycott but because we've gone too long without any kind of update! And that's a huge problem!! The wait we've been asked to endure since SAW is become wide enough its swallowed people interest in the game and to be hyped up for the new content only to watch others play with it for almost a month before you get anything is just such a bad PR move by BVHR that I dont know if they can recover, at least on console, and if it doesn't show up this week? "Curtain call" maybe a unfortunate but very appropriate name. :'(

I think that's the worst part. We dont even have it and it's already old news. Remember we also sat through the PTB too. I had planned to buy everything I could possibly afford but now that I've seen tons of YouTube and other internet outlets show off all the goods the less I care and the longer this goes on the less I care.
In hindsight they should have not showed off all the new in the PTB that was nice of them to do but a big marketing mistake!! And I know people won't want to hear and I'm glad for the PC folks they didn't BUT they should have held it and released on all three at the sametime!! It would have been a huge boom for them financially and anyone who thinks it will all balance in the end, is wrong and underestimated how much more people will spend to be one the first to own something and get to show it off.

Not too bad but I would have the rotation stop if someone is working one. Dull or live I would have them stay as they sit until the action finishes. I think it changing to active or going inactive as you're working just seems too luck based.robin said:I just read a discussion about changing the hex totem system and I got this idea that I thought was pretty cool, so I wanted to make a separate discussion about it. so here's the idea:
increase totems by 3-4 per map
every minute or so, the hex switches to a different totem through the map, meaning they don't stay in the same spot all game. It would make it a bit more difficult to pinpoint where the totem is. and if a survivor manages to find the hex totem, it can switch as they're cleansing it, meaning you have to find them quick and be a bit lucky that you found it at a good time.link to original discussion: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/3987/hex-totem-rework#latest

Billy? Hell no! Leave him alone. But leatherface? He needs help almost more than any other killer. He could use a speed buff for sure. Maybe have him rev the saw without nerfing his speed or at least make it very very minimal.

I think if a survivor DC's killer should get a ridiculous amount of bloodpoints like 5,000 for each and the other survivors left could get some but not a ton, maybe 500, 1000. And if killer DC's each survivor left should get 10,000.
The reason for the big killer DC amount is it stops the game and match is over. A killer would make twice that if all DC and the match ends that way.
People DC so you can't get the pips and BP you deserve so if they do that it should be more than enough to compensate the other players for their time.

@Dwight_Fairfield samooid: The only time I ever do it is if I have been against a camping tunneling killer. They earn a t-bagging. What do you mean when you talk about tunneling?
Tunneling is the only thing I consider "Toxic" for a killer to do. It's when you camp the hook and you wait for the unhooking to happen then go after the one that was unhooked instead of going after the survivor that did the unhooking. It's cheap and unsportsman like imo. You should get survivors because you are better than them. If you only get them because you hit them before they even touch the ground? You are a jerk and it's not a viable strategy, albeit camping is as long as it's done right (NO TUNNELING) and at the right times.
Oh ok, I would consider that camping
And btw, if someone unhooks you while the killer is camping, its the unhookers fault

Oh yeah for sure it's the unhookers fault that's why you should go for him! As the hooked (not in a SWF) you have no choice when you get unhooked. It's why I think its toxic to tunnel. The killer is going to punish the one being unhooked for the mistake of the one who did the unhooking. I know it's the easier target to get the injured survivor and a completely legal move, it's just a dick move. I'd hope that killers feel a responsibility to punish bad play styles to make that behavior stop! It's the same as the camping argument. If I want to punish a camper I should not play to his game. Going for unsafe hooks is bad behavior I would hope we're all trying to make this game more fair and there for more fun for everyone. So a call to all killers "I know the easy target but we need you to do the right thing and go get that jerk that thinks he can do whatever he wants right in your face and you'll do nothing about it!" Also how I say camping is different imo...
Camping- staying close to hook to protect the kill and fight off against any attempts at rescue.
Tunneling- waiting at a close proximity to hook not to protect the kill but to be there for the unhooking so you can replace the kill once freed.
Camping- strategy that is sometimes useful especially near the end of match.
Tunneling- a no skill needed easy kill that gets you points but zero respect from me and hopefully from this whole community

Bro would you rather have the killer let you go. The killer is there to kill people. Yes if the survivor unhooking made a mistake and did a bad unhook than why should the killer not go after the injured survivor who just came off the hook. How is it the killers fault for taking advantage? I mean the killer can choose any target he wants. If he needs to thin the heard for a survivor making a mistake, than the killer should capitalize on the survivors mistakes. When you take out 1 out of the 4 survivors it becomes more in the killers favor. The killer won't be like "Oh look at that, a survivor made a mistake, I'll let them walk away and do whatever."
When I say bad unhooking, I mean the killer had no time to leave the hook to find another survivor and instead found two at the hooked spot. If you don't give the killer time to find a new survivor he will always go to the place where he knows a survivor is at.
I often try to aim for the rescuer at the hook, seem to hit him/her, and instead the rescuee is the one who falls down. Other times I rush back to the hook and the only person present is the one who was just rescued and there's no trail or sign of the rescuer. Too many just rescue and then run like hell -- no body blocking, no leading to a hiding place to be healed. As many who are saved from the hook simply do not run far enough to hide as if they don't know how loud their cries of pain are to the killer. Circumstances that seem like tunneling to them are just their own dumb luck from my view.
To tunnel imo, you must be there when the unhooking actually takes place. Killer makes no attempt to stop the rescue, but waits for the survivor to be freed and then hits him or runs him down completely ignoring any other survivors or objectives so he can rehook that survivor. It is impossible to tunnel if you gave the unhooked even a small window to escape.

Rank is then how you'd earn shards for stuff that isn't needed but is cool like outfits and skins and perks from the shrine. You could still have rank reset everyone but to 20 at the start of the season and anyone who made it to 5 or lower would get something cool like a killer head that you cant get any other way or a cool shirt for survivors maybe you could give rank 1's a special color variant of the item of the month?
I just think this game needs to give people a reason to keep playing and playing both killer and survivor.
The main point is if you separate casual from rank you give people a way to enter the game with the right mind set and people would be less upset with each other, you couldn't get mad if the killer shows up to play for keeps in rank mode, it's what it's for and you better bring your A game too, and remember no SWF so... As it sits right now I think it's why people butt heads so much some of us show up to do our best to win and others just want to play around. Very annoying when one of those goes against the other. This idea fixes that.

Sure I understand that, but the only reason I suggested it was the idea that it would keep both game modes full of both survivors and killers. Seeing how i imagine killers would gravitate to rank and survivors would want to play SWF for the most part and not care as much about rank. I think there would have to be some incentive to play both modes.Master said:@BOSS242 said:
But it would totally fix a lot of issues! One of the first post I put on this forum was a similar thought, that if you split play for rank from casual then everyone could practice but not against the same 3,4 people like KYF but against all kinds of players but without the "I have to play this way and be super try hard to hold rank" thing hanging over our heads.
I love the idea that swf wouldn't be a part of rank play. You'd have to build for and actually be good to hold rank. Also now you could set rules and have your emblems drive the kinda competition play dev's would like to see without the clear outlined objectives ruining the freeform casual that just want BP's. So balance could very from that of the casual to keep both play styles happy.
In fact how about rank play is just for rank and shards no bloodpoints at all. So to get anything from the blood webs you'd have to play in the casual bloodpoint arena first get some skills and what you wanted for items and then go for rank solo. And shards could be for rank only. So cool skins in store would have to be bought with $$ or you'd have to have played well in the ranked environment.
I think this would solve a lot of problems people have because if the killer camps for example he would be dumb to do that in a just BP match because he would earn more by keeping the game moving so camping and tunneling arguably survivors big two wouldn't happen in casual because they dont need the sac for their rank. And killers main issue aside from looping which not sure if you can fix that really? But SWF wouldn't be an issue because you couldn't do it when it really counts for rank.
Devs please, please read this conversation and address why not, if you guys dont like the idea, because I think its brilliant!! sorry this post is so long!

I dont think that the player should be forced to play casual, if you only want to play ranked, then he should be allowed to and gain BP/shards doing that

So a call to all killers "I know the easy target but we need you to do the right thing and go get that jerk that thinks he can do whatever he wants right in your face and you'll do nothing about it!" Also how I say camping is different imo...Master said:@BOSS242 said:

The only time I ever do it is if I have been against a camping tunneling killer.

I have tried to find a way to look up ps4 hour reports and came back empty handed. As funny as the watch answer was it may be absolutely correct:)

Thank you makes total sense. Still a bummer though ( said under my breath as I look and feet and lazily kick at the ground like a child)Runiver said:@BOSS242 said:
Yes kinda but I kinda think that maybe (and I could be wrong, admittedly I dont know the details) Behavior has had 6 months to prepare for this DLC and maybe someone should have turned in the paperwork to get the ball rolling so everything could release on time?? It's not the first add to the game, so NOBODY there seen this issue coming?? I've already said sorry, I over reacted and was wrong i know it and i mean it, sorry, but maybe?...They did talk about this in a previous stream.
The main issue is that it's not only paperwork. They need to give a full patch package IN ADVANCE to Sony and Microsoft, so they can check it out if there's nothing faulty or offensive or anything, in their own rules, for several days.
So they basically can't "prepare" for it, sadly. They just finished the patch a few days ago, after the PTB, so they couldn't "prepare" for it

The only way would be to actually delay the PC release because of Sony & Microsoft tantrum.
lol

Man who dropped the ball on that one?You know this is not due to Behavior, but because of Microsoft and Sony right ?

Sorry guys you're right, no reason everyone should have to suffer. It was just not what I wanted to wake up and read. I know it sounds goofy but i was really hoping for the 12th, 13th I had even taken those days off from work and I know that's dumb so spare me
just plain old jealousy

Man who dropped the ball on that one? Not happy about the way console players are treated like second class citizens on this game!! We've been waiting just as long as the computer folks and we've had to watch as they all got to play the PTB!! Now they get the everything live first!? This is a HUGE slap in the face!! You should have filed sooner or now make us all wait!!!! To care as much as I do about this stuff and to have you guys just not care about us is very hard to read and makes me very sad
