  • I had to abandon a teammate to get mine. I felt bad, but not bad enough. Was tired of all the tunneling and sweaty killers I had since this morning. Even when someone dc's or suicides while 5 gens are up, Killers are still playing like their lives depend on it.

  • I play Claudette as well and I face many similar games as you. People remember the bad times more than they do the good times, so if a Killer faces a toxic highlighter dressed Claudette and often has a bad experience with them, they will start to associate it with all of the players who play her.

I forgive Killers who tunnel me on maps like Yamaoka, since I most likely made their eyes bleed. If I notice a Killer has it out for me just because I’m Claudette , I turn on ultra blend mode and make sure they never find me until end game.

I mean seriously all day today I've been getting relentlessly tunneled and camped for playing Lisa Garland and Im even seeing in the forums that its a trend to be toxic towards Lisa players so why? Why aren't we allowed to like a character? (EDIT: I mean come on how can you hate her :( )

If you think you got it bad, try playing a Claudette. I main her and I constantly get tunneled. Many, many Killers hate her. Once I switch to Dwight, all the tunneling stops.

  • The purpose of wiggling is to prevent the Killer from taking you all the way to the basement, which gives them a huge advantage. It isn't for you to escape them when they take you to a regular hook. Killer goes through enough in order to down a Survivor, further hooks would break the game for a lot of them, making your queue longer.

Survivors are not meant to have specific traits other then their looks. There are plenty of perks to aid you during the trial. If you need a freebie, play Claudette for the extra stealth. Killers are supposed to have an advantage over Survivors, giving them abilities would make a lot more work for the Devs when it comes to balance. I don't ever see that happening.

I agree it would be nice to have more one time use items in the game that get switched up every month or two. Like a trip wire that alerts you to when the Killer is going a certain direction, a weaker bear trap that Trapper uses that can be used on Killers once during a trial (only one would work even if all 4 Survivors equipped it), a flash grenade that will cause everyone in the area who is facing the general direction of the explosion to get blinded, and a one time use cloak of invisibility that disappears once it is used.

  • I wish there was some information about updating Trapper.

It is nice to hear animations and character models are getting looked at.

I agree. I've saved up a bunch of map offerings that I'm gonna be using over the next week or two.

I am doing the same. I hate it. As much as I am a blendette, that map bothers my vision when I am in it.

  • I hate the new map with a passion. The contrast is terrible, navigation is a nightmare and it's pretty big so more time running across the world to save people. Just trying to go from upstairs to downstairs is a nightmare.

Are team did a good job with it's atmosphere and design, I just hate playing it. I'd rather have the meat plant, which was my old least liked map.

There was a DbD exam with 60 or so questions about lore, in game items, devs etc.

you had 24 h to participate, if you got more than 90% you got the chance to win 500 aura cells (raffle)

Thanks, I didn't know about it.

  • I'm sorry, but I would find that suit terrifying in real life, especially if it was chasing me with a knife.

  • @Mooks said:

This has nothing to do with the exam?

    What exam?

  • Yes, buff hag. Make it so her traps can never be disabled and will instantly reset after teleporting to a phantasm! Make her immune to flashlight blinds and pallet stuns while you're at it!

Muahahahahahaha, the salt will be so delicious.

  • Depends on the situation. If it is a high mobility Killer and the gates are close to one another and they find hatch? I will vault spam so they could get it over with.

Otherwise, I will try to find hatch, search chests for keys, or sneakily open the door when spinechill lets me know the killer left.

  • Avis is a name that I just liked. I know it is a car rental company but I also heard it used as a persons name in a Julia Child movie.

Deene is the name of a wonderful Irish lady that has helped me when I had no one to turn to many years ago.

  • I'd rather have Devour Hope as basekit vs NoEd.

  • If you lost with 4 perks, you will lose with 5 perks. I’d rather the Devs just balance the game around the top tier players and not the potatoes.

  • I would recommend you play Survivor until you reach red ranks and get a good grasp of the game. That way, when you play Killer, you’d be more privy to how your opponents operate. You should also play Survivor to grind Blood Points and use them to level Freddy Up and unlock perks.

The thing that sucks with this game is that you have to level up so many characters just to unlock their perks for each other. You then have to spend more points on the Blood Web to access it, which takes forever.

Finally, go watch some Killer gameplay on YouTube. I recommend notOtzdarva. He’s enjoyable to watch and explains decently enough.

  • Tunneling = Genrush

If you want to punish one, then you agree to punish the other. Both are the same in that each side is trying to complete their main objective as fast as possible. Why do Survivors think that rushing their objective is fine and fun but disallow it for their opponent?

I wouldn't be surprised to see a ps5 version with updated graphics... But the current PS can barely handle this game as is, I literally can't play on PS4 anymore because it runs PS4 so hot it flashes off.. now my PS4 always runs hot no matter what game

Don't get your hopes up. A PS4 should be able to easily handle this game, its just poor optimization and programing that causes your system to heat up.

What perks do you get put down for using?

I play stealthy too, although I tend toward a pretty aggressive method of stealth and am not afraid to do gens behind the killer's back and whatnot.

I use Self Care, Plunderers, Urban Evasion and Spine Chill. I tried to switch out SC with Bond but I noticed that people would run the Killer to me more often when I did. Also, it was hard to rely on people to heal in Solo matches, since more often than not, my teammates are either too aggressive or to chicken and head for the hills.

I cannot loop well. I hit my peak after playing for more than 1000 hours and I have come to the realization that I am just not a great gamer. I have an issue with my left arm and hand that makes controlling my character and looking behind me at the same time very difficult so I opt to sneak around. Now, that doesn't mean I will sit in a bush the whole match. I will come out and take hits, body block or try to get the Killer off of someone who is on death hook. I will also try to get the Killer to chase me to the other side of the match during endgame so my team can finish the final gen and get out. I don't mind dying for competent teammates. Now, if my teammates are idiots or overly aggressive and unhook in front of the Killers face at the start of the match, I ascend to Divine Bushette.

  • @Luciferr_2nd said:

Currently, Hex: No One Escapes Death is a very frustrating perk to go against as a survivor. This is because it rewards the killer for bad gameplay, all four survivors could do really well in the match, but this perk can literally give the killer easy kills they dont deserve. At the end of the day, noed rewards the killer for playing inefficiently, and this is poor design. I never use noed when i play killer (at rank 1 btw) because I don't let my games reach that point, a bad killer gets rewarded in failing their objective to sacrifice.

The idea I have to fix this is very simple:

Only give the exposed status effect to survivors who are dead on hook. That's it, easy fix.

This is now good design because the killer is rewarded for getting that survivor to that phase on hook, rather than being rewarded by failing at your objective.

I think I make a very valid point, and the developers should consider redesigning the perk.

NoEd rewards Killers who pressure Survivors well enough to rush gens and forget about doing totems. It also rewards Killers who do well throughout a match with only 3 perks.

It punishes bad Survivors because if the Killer was truly bad, then they wouldn't be much of a threat in endgame, seeing that the Killer wouldn't have had many hooks, thus giving the Survivors plenty of time to look for the totem once someone gets hooked after they're downed by it.

  • I don't see an appeal to any of them since I am a filthy potato.

When I play Survivor, I play stealthy and pick perks that I always get put down for using.

When I play Killer, I just use whatever I feel like using. I do use NoEd a lot since I don't care to play any of the top Killers. I like Trapper and Hag the most and with how fast generators go, I kinda need it to buy a little more time in endgame.

  • Calm Spirit is your friend. Just play until you get a camping Killer and hide near them. With how often people complain about campers, it shouldn't be too hard to complete.

  • I enjoy farming matches. It's a nice change of pace from the usual sweaty matches that take place and shows that the community can come together and just chill. I don't care for it too much from the start of the match and prefer the farming to start later on when it's obvious that the Killer is much, much better than the group of Survivors and that they have no hope of escape.

If I play as Killer and someone DCs at the start of the match, I will 2 hook the rest if I can then let them farm. I understand how it sucks to lose a teammate and you still have 4-5 gens left since it happens often to me. It sucks even more when the Killer still plays like their life depends on killing everyone a fast as possible.

  • He is in a really bad spot. His power can be countered with a map, perk, or be completely disarmed. Heck, Survivors can walk around them in narrow locations while he himself will step on them. He also wastes a lot of time collecting traps. I think it is ridiculous that the Devs haven't buffed his base trap carry amount yet. His traps should be a little darker as well.

  • I do. Since I don't have Michael I was able to get PWYF and STBFL from it. All I want now is BBQ & Chili. I want to get Bubba, but since he is getting a rework, I would rather wait and see what they do to him.

It always confuses me when people say "if genrush is a problem you just need to apply pressure" yet when the killer does apply pressure they are "campers, tunnelers, petty/trash, etc".

There is no winning in this community.

This also goes the other way with killer complaining when survivors run DS/BT but will then (actually) camp/tunnel them...

The double standard is annoying no matter what side employs it. No one has any right to tell someone else how they should play as long as that player is playing according to what the developers allow.

What are y'all talking about? If a survivor unhooks a different survivor right in front of the killer's face, it's almost always easier to go for the unhooker. You get one free hook when they first start unhooking which interrupts them and they have to start again. Your animation will wear off right after they finish unhooking and then you have the down. If you wait for the unhook and then go after the unhooked survivor that has BT, then you have to hit them twice while they're running instead of hitting the unhooker twice while they're standing still.

It is not almost always easier to go after the unhooker. It depends on the situation and how good the Survivors are. The best thing to do, if there is time, is to hit the unhooker before or during the unhook and then slugging the rescued Survivor. Even if that Survivor has BT active, it's only 15 seconds, and more often than not, they usually waste it by trying to bait a hit.

Now, if the person who is getting unhooked it a really good looper, then yes, it would be best to go for the unhooker.

Yes, that is what slugging means in this game.

Ah yes, mock my spelling, really shows your maturity lad.

Is the rescued survivor us a weak looper then sure, go for them. However you'll go through a bt, down em, only for them to ds you and waste more of you time. Even if your chases are short with them that's still ages you're wasting on one survivor when you could pressure another different survivor. Imo it's way more fun as a killer to chase everyone instead of one survivor over and over but play how you want.

Yes, it depends on the scenario, but unfortunately you're less likely to waste time by chasing someone who's unhooked someone instead of who's been unhooked. Yeah, you hit the healthy survivor so they heal and you chase the unhooked so you down them. Or you chase someone with the same amount of health states, will likely have taken a hit through rescuing so will be an easy down, let the unhooked go and heal because they're already injured, and the added bonus is it being more fun for everyone involved, at least imo. If you have fun by playing as efficiently as possible, go for it.

But in a lot of scenarios it's better to chase the unhooker than the unhooked.

It isn't easier to go after the unhooker, it is easier to go after the unhooked. All the Killer has to do is run up to the Survivor, count to 15 and down them. It isn't difficult to counter BT at all, especially since most Survivors try and bait a hit out of the Killer for the speed boost. Also, for the most part, if the group that the Killer is facing is altruistic, like they usually are, chasing the unhooked would be the smarter choice since their teammates would usually follow the Killer and try and body block and take hits for their teammate. So more time wasted for the Survivors.

Sorry for the jab at your spelling, I didn't realize you were a different person quoting me from the last one who tried to insult my intelligence by comparing me to a reddit user.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1336288#Comment_1336288

i mean, with bt in the equasion, you're better off chasing the healthy survivor. both have 2 health states to get through (healthy -> injured and injured -> downed or injured -> deep wounds and deep wounds -> downed). one of those survivors is also likely to have ds, whilst the other isn't. one will either heal, or be one-tap. one will be full health and not need to spend time healing. you apply more pressure chasing the unhooker than the unhooked, unless they purposely take bt hits and prevent you chasing the unhooker, in which case any claims of tunneing are immidiately null and void since they're practically asking for it by doing that.

if bt is in the equasion you're so much better off chasing the unhooker than the unhooked. everyone in the game having fun & getting more bloodpoints, and a better emblem score, is just an added benefit.

If the rescued Survivor is a weak looper, it would make them the best target to go after. The faster the Killer can get someone out of the match, irregardless if they have BT active, the easier time the Killer will have with the rest of the match. It is smarter for the Killer to hit the unhooker and down the unhooked. The unhooker will go and get healed, while the unhooked person will either get slugged, forcing someone else off of gens to pick them up, not have DS and get hooked again or have DS and waste more time. Depending on how many gens are left and which Killer it is, it may be more beneficial for the Killer to get the Survivor to use their DS early on. One of the worst things a Killer can do is to get looped by a Survivor who knows what they're doing. Why should the Killer allow anyone to waste their time?

Your last sentence is just your assumption. Rankings mean nothing and not all Killers think having their time wasted by getting into long chases with healthy Survivors are fun. Killers don't play to provide fun for Survivors, Killers play the game to provide fun for themselves. For many of them, that means killing the opponents as efficiently as possible.

Also, the word you are looking for is "equation".

  • @mouse0270 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1336246#Comment_1336246

Yeah, which is my point, its a time that its okay to use BT. As for a killer being petty would be to chase down the BT user and hook them. If its a simple hook exchange then its whatever. I've never met a survivor who got mad because he traded hooks with a survivor because he felt like he had no option to go for the save.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1336252#Comment_1336252

Clearly you missed the point here. It's only petty if the killer decides to chase the person off hook. As a killer you left the survivors no option but to use BT and hope for a hook exchange. I guess in your defense, I could have made that more clearly, but thank you for showing me that your a standard reddit/forums user.

You have yet to provide any rational reason for a Killer to not down the easy target other than "its not fun" for the Survivor. Why should a Killer play to make the game easier for their opponents? The onus is on the Survivors to get better at the game and make themselves a less desirable target as possible for the Killer by learning how to loop for longer and running the proper perks to aid in that endeavor. It is not the responsibility of the Killer to make sure you have fun or an easy time during a match.

You trying to insult me by declaring I am a "standard reddit/forum user" only shows that you have nothing intelligent to say.

I don’t completely agree with what you’re saying, although some of it is correct. If I get unhooked unsafely due to my team mate being a moron, then I’d fully hold my team mate accountable for doing so... But when the killer is intentionally going out of their way to camp or tunnel (to the point of other survivors being ignored for bait hits), it’s just sad as hell. This literally just proves the only way they can feel confident in getting a few kills is by tunnelling and lingering infront of a hook, which equals a bad player.

People should just strive to learn how to play the game in the best way they can instead of settling for some cheap tactics and literally ruining everyone’s experience. As far as handling the loop of the game goes, there is literally NOTHING you can do if someone decides to tunnel you. There’s only a select amount of pallets and windows that can be wasted before the killer eventually catches up with you. In this time you can’t do gens, you can’t help other team mates, you can’t get heals, you can’t do totems and the list goes on.

That is literally just going out of your way to ruin someone’s game because you’re not capable of playing the game the way it was intended to be played.

I always hear people crying about toxic survivors this and that but the killer is always faster than the survivor and the survivor can’t literally stand in front of a killer and make them unable to do anything that they should be doing in the game.

Killers cry about tiny little perks that come out for survivors, how they’re too strong etc. Just imagine an unlimited insta-heal coming out that everyone had for every single game guaranteed and a survivor could bodyblock a killer in a corner and take unlimited hits to prevent the killer from being able to do anything for the whole match. There would be absolute uproar about it. This in theory though, is facecamping...

Pallet camping ruins the Killers experience.

Pallet stunning ruins the Killers experience.

Flashlight blinds at pallets ruins the Killers experience.

Flashlight saves ruins the Killers experience.

Disarming Trappers traps ruins the Killers experience.

Running DS ruins the Killers experience.

Running OoO ruins the Killers experience.

Sabotaging hooks ruins the Killers experience.

Body Blocking ruins the Killers experience.

Popping 3 gens while the Killer is in their first chase ruins the Killers experience.

Vault spamming and flashlight clicking ruins the Killers experience.

Voice communication ruins the Killers experience

Everything I mentioned can be considered as a cheap tactic since they are so easy to execute, yet Survivors never think twice about doing them. They never consider the Killers enjoyment during a match. So, why is it wrong for a Killer to play as efficient as possible? Why does the Killer need to consider the Survivors enjoyment when the Survivors never do the same?

The goal for the Killer is to kill Survivors and killing them as fast as possible is the best way to do it, especially with how fast Survivors finish gens in today's matches. It is ridiculous to expect the Killer to be able to hook Survivors 12 times with how fast games go. If you have a problem, it should be with yourself for not being able to run the Killer for longer.

  • @LordGlint said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1336233#Comment_1336233

Thats applying pressure to as many ppl as possible. If a killer chases 1 guy while allowing the rest to regroup and heal up...he's only pressuring 1 person and the other 3 are free to be on gens. If the killer swaps targets and gets a hit like in your example... There's probably gonna be a hook trade if an unhook takes place, the fresh unhooked guy has to find someone to heal him because he doesnt have a teammate/time to heal up under hook AND the guy being initially chased also has to go off and heal. A killer's gameplay revolves around keeping as many survivors busy, and therefore off gens for as long as possible.

No no, a Killer who applies pressure and prevents a save is a bad and petty killer. Didn't you read the rulebook? Thou shall not inconvenience thy Survivor in any capacity.

I actually watch Otzdarva but I didn't see these videos ! Thank you !

You're welcome. Trapper is loads of fun when he snowballs, but against a super well coordinated swf death squad, he really becomes weak. If you suspect them being a swf in the lobby, I recommend that you equip the Bloody Coil add-on. It injures anyone who disarms your traps, so it will waste their time healing or they will opt to play injured. If you manage to get them in the basement, it will make it hell for the rescuer to save them, since they risk getting injured by the bloody coil if they disarm the trap ,making it easier for you to down them when you head back. If you're lucky enough to have the basement in the shack and trap all the entrances, you will have a very easy time, just expect lots and lots of salt.

  • It’s not that you’re bad, it’s just bad matchmaking and you probably don’t have enough experience.

Trapper also needs a buff. It is ridiculous that he needs to travel all over the map just to get to his traps. His base trap carry amount needs to be increased and he needs to start with more traps.

You also need to learn where to place traps that Survivors wouldn’t expect. Placing traps at pallets is super obvious. Most Survivors expect it and will avoid them, or know to walk right past it if you left a big enough gap.

Also, every killer suffers against red rank Survivors. I recommend you get your Hag leveled up in order to unlock Devour Hope and Ruin. With Trapper, you can protect those two hexes as long as they spawn in good corners.

Here are some videos to help you out:

    https://youtu.be/kvTesdUvYbI https://youtu.be/_ivq1_1bw40

  • What does “playing the game properly and fairly” mean? You are under the assumption that Killers are required to play the game as you’d like them to play and if they don’t, then they’re bad. Are there rules in the game that dictate how the Killer must play the game?

  • I'd equip a red mori for more than 2 flashlights. I will also play red add-on Trapper with iron grasp and lock them all in the basement.

Im r1 both sides, and i think the game is almost fully balanced

Second chance perks: All the second chance perks have counterplay imo just like noed

Swf: i dont have an opinion on because i dont go against them that much

Gen rushing: both sides can do there objective fast tho? Its not that hard to get a 4man slug as oni and billy or just tunnling and ending chases fast

Pallets and Windows: theres around 10 to 11 pallets and some of them are unsafe, infintes were removed and maps are smaller with more dead zones making it much easier to apply pressure as killer

Imo the games not THAT unbalanced

I disagree even though I'm not a new player

I agree with you and wish more players would realize that the game is pretty balanced as is. No one wants to because then they would have to admit that perhaps the problem is with them and not the game.

The only things I think that need to be looked at is:

    1. DS should either deactivate or have it's duration reduced if the Survivor is fully healed, works on a gen for more than 10 seconds, or fully heals someone else.
    2. Hillbilly needs to be toned down a little now that maps are getting smaller and have more dead spaces.
    3. Bubba needs a rework. He is only strong when he camps and I would be the first to defend anyone's right to play as they want to but Bubba really has no counter camping except rushing gens, which isn't fun at all.
    4. Trapper needs to have his stitched bag as base-kit and all other bag add-ons removed.
    5. Keys should only work for the key holder.
    6. Moris should only work on death hook. They can remove brown and green moris and increase the rate that red moris appear on the bloodweb if they make this change.
    7. Mobile DbD bots should be implemented into this game when someone DCs for either side.
  • I loved Naruto sans all the fillers.

Favorite Character: Itachi. He was just so bad ass, sucks that the plot required him to be ill and die. He should have just taken Sasuke's eyes for himself. Kakashi is a close second.

I really liked Orochimaaru when he was introduced, but his character got neutered later on and he was no longer the same for me.

Best fight scene for me was in Boruto where Naruto and Sasuke face up against Momoshiki. Too bad Boruto sucks.

Why would a killer need to take survivor's feelings into consideration? If anything, a killer should have to do anything to keep pressure on survivors, even with camping, tunneling and noed (anything really) and not care how survivors take it.

I agree 100%. Killers shouldn't have to consider Survivor's feelings. But it doesn't matter either way, no matter how they play they will still get insulted and accused for being a terrible person. Yes, Killers shouldn't take salty words to heart, but neither should they have to experience the insults in the first place.

They're playing smart, nothing wrong with that

Nothing, it’s just how there is a double standard when it comes to Survivors playing smart vs Killers playing smart.

Survivors are encouraged to finish their objective as fast as possible, irregardless of how the Killer feels, but the Killer needs to take the Survivors feelings into consideration, hence why we get so many complaints about tunneling, camping and NoEd.

I do like the way the current DS operates but it definitely needs some tweaks. It’s supposed to be an anti-tunnelling perk, but so many people abuse it. If you’re fully healed or working on a generator it shouldn’t stay active as you’re clearly not being tunnelled anymore.

No, Devs have stated that DS wasn’t designed to be an anti-tunnel perk. They just wanted to give Survivors a strong perk. Players are the ones who designated it as an anti-tunnel perk.

They did say they are looking into ways to make it less abuse-able.
