Yeah cause screw everyone who likes her lol. You don't like her so now no one should be allowed to play her? I'll make sure before I do anything in DBD I'll come and ask you for permission first to make sure you enjoy it mkay <3

Notice how they said to rework the character and refund people possibly and yet the snarky Andy such as yourself immediately went for passive aggression over nothing

They don't appreciate much of anything. Sadly BHVR has to keep the softness of the Survivor crowd in mind. They didn't here.

Oof. This reaction is so strong I can practically feel it pimp slapping me in the face. It's weird how many us v them posts y'all force into forums. Almost like it's an agenda atp

  • @HugTechLover said:

agreed, sometimes I cannot believe how long they scream for. It’s atrocious.

Bro my friend was playing Lisa and she would not shut up. It was so annoying and loud for no reason

  • Please spare me the whole skill issue while throwing in DH combo. That's old. You definitely have a point with people dcing against the new killer but you're intentionally ignoring the core issues with the last 2 killers that people have been talking about in length. The main issue isn't their chase potential or whatever. It's the fact that they lock down areas and games that would be at most 15 minutes because 30+ minute games.

Knight was literally complained about because he has the ability to hold a 3 gen so long the servers will end the game. The problem isn't with zoning killers moving people out of loops. It's the fact that the core game is so unbearably bad with the gen speed that killers who lock down areas can hold games for way longer than it should.

  • Ugh another one of these complainy us v them posts trying desperately to justify literally playing the game 💀.

These posts are getting old atp. OmG HoW dArE tHe KiLlEr/SuRvIvOrS tRy To WiN 1 MaTcH oF DbD? Let's spit some real facts here for a minute. I can personally garauntee the people who make posts like this trying so hard to bash 1 side for sweat are the exact same killers/survivors that talk massive trash and insult people because only they are allowed to sweat. People have been talking about camping/tunnelling, 3 gens yada yada. Big whoop. Meanwhile you guys always seem to leave out killers that complain about Genrush, Bodyblocking, and Swf. You guys have this unbearable ego while constantly victimizing yourselves over a video game. I cannot even begin to count how many posts where someone is crying about not playing by a "rulebook" and getting salted for it.

What I'm trying to say is people who make posts like op are usually the same people that complain in the exact same manner about something else while spouting us v them nonsense

Wait, was that the time when old DH was bugged and gave no distance (on top of the usual exhausted on the floor)? That ######### was hilarious.

Yup. That's exactly why I don't find DH that much of a problem. It's the exact same distance as the bugged version

I pull off so many sick ambush attack mind games near loops, only for the survivor to Dead Hard it as soon as the hit lands. If i choose to miss on purpose to "bait it out" they get away while i recover from the missed attack anyways. So a survivor can literally wait at the loop, and as soon as the pig gets close, press E. There's another uncounterable scenario for delusional survivor mains that say "just wait it out".

Let me guess. By sick ambush attacks you mean the classic bait one direction and go he other one last second to catch people off guard? Trust me it's not unique and doesn't require DH to counter

  • @Bwsted said:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/XKBVZ0R0BEYS/image.png

    I love you for this

  • Trust me, I wasn't the one creating copious Eruption and DH salt threads unlike you guys so...

  • Exactly the point. I'm also going to add to this point rq to make it more accurate..

Community: We want fun, interactive killers with a decent ability and isn't horrible to play.

Devs: Releases Pinhead, Wesker, Blight, and ig Twins in a sense?

Community: Uses exactly those same killers for gen defense protocol/proxy camp simulator.

  • Let's talk about this really quick here. Try to look at the designs of the killers since Trickster. We have Trickster, Nemesis, Pinhead, Artist, Onyro, Dredge, Wesker, Knight, and now Skull Merchant. Of these 9 killers released in a row, 8 of them have an anti looping tool in their disposal. Some of them shut down looping entirely making it easier to get downs if you try to loop them. That's a problem to try and loop killers designed to be good in chase. So what's the solution if you're facing get hit or get hit killers or zone killers that can make you run out of options fast? You guessed it. Holding R1.

The problem we have here is this. If a majority of the killers that were released back to back have kits that actively force you to leave entirely and hold 1, then why keep designing killers like this. Well that's a Catch 22 problem. Either they can design anti loop zoning killers that suffer from hold R1 or they can create Sadako varients that don't chase for efficiency? What I'm saying is they're running out of creativity with killer designs and they're reusing the same concepts to help add new chapters for content. It's an unfortunate reality but it's good that op on this thread is talking about the source of the problem, BHVR design philosophy, and not blaming survivors for not wanting to die in seconds trying to not be boring in chases to entertain the other side.

  • Hmm weird. For years, we all collectively agreed solos was the weakest role in game to the point there's a reason why weaker killers were called pub stompers. You guys cried and cried time after time for solo queue buffs that don't buff swf and we finally got it. Now it's a problem? Wow.

BuT kIlLeRs DiDn'T gEt AnYtHiNg WiTh ThE cHaNgEs. Survivors didn't get anything with the killer buffs that happened last summer and wen people cried about it, you guys said skill issue. Rather funny it's the exact same scenario and it's the same arguments but on a different side.

    Sidest of all eyes possible

  • @Monlyth said:

If it's that easy to counter it, why is it showing up- and getting value- in tournament finals? The tournaments that don't limit the perk to 1 per team often outright ban it against Killers other than Nurse or Blight.

Getting two hits in a short timeframe against good survivors is hard enough, but increase it to 3 with Dead Hard and there just isn't enough time to chase everyone without camping, tunneling, or 3-genning. And then Survivors get mad at you when you play with this in mind.

Wow we're still trying so hard to complain huh? Following your exact logic, why are killers still getting 3/4ks despite seeing so many DHs in these tournaments? You conveniently tried to gloss over the fact the DHs weren't enough to stop the tournament Oni from winning the whole thing. Clearly if people are getting kills despite DH existing, then obviously DH isn't the earth shattering perk that's saving impossible survivor games.

You guys want to complain about anything and everything so bad it's funny

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3366074#Comment_3366074

Not every killer has to have no chase power or map mobility. BHVR keeps releasing killers that incentivize the worst aspects of the game such as tunneling and camping a 3 gen.

I am genuinely convinced that people say they like Skull Merchant are trolling. There's a reason the matchmaking incentive is still 100% killer despite a new chapter dropping...

Oh and also all of the perks they've released besides 2 are complete garbage. They also completely gutted several other perks along with the patch.

Let's not bring up bp percentage as if that's a major thing to discuss. It's region based, not a 1 for 1 comparison of the people left in this game. If that's the case then the fact survivors had the incentive way more than killer would be concerning

  • Literally a game when I was playing Laurie, I got cucked by teammate and had to play hold r1 against Artist for the last 3 gens to get done simply because obliviousness is wild. I don hate chases but I hate being forced to cover up someone's mistake and dying because of it

  • @Monlyth said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3366685#Comment_3366685

Hey, only one perk showed up in this patch's balance changes, and it wasn't a Survivor perk.

I'm fully willing to acknowledge that Eruption was a stupid perk to play against. Is it really so hard to do the same for a perk that punishes you for hitting Survivors?

It is hard when a majority of the time, it's not exactly hard to wait it out. And even if you can't wait it out, a lot of killers have either decent mobility or have anti loop tools.

Is it so hard for you guys to admit the actual problem with the game is the gen meta rather than malding at a perk that requires you to fail in chase and gets countered by deep wound, bad ping, and the dreaded waiting it out tech?

  • @AnchorTea said:

I play Merchant and I keep getting players that give up 4/3 gens in.

Just gonna say this: her three-gen strat isn't as powerful as you think. If there's 2 survivors left than yeah it's nearly impossible. Any more survivors than that can have one loop/distract her. If she comes back to proxy gens, she technically isnt making progress by downing survivors.

Long story short, it's a skill issue. Not a design one.

No it's definitely a design issue. It is a skill issue to give up but pretending a competent killer hold a 3 gen with her power isn't a design flaw is wild

I'm not the one who keeps bumping this thread; y'all are. Why are you so desperate to hold onto one stupid perk? The Killer perk meta gets nerfed practically at the drop of a hat, but when a Survivor perk that's been in the game almost as long as Ruin has is called into question, it's too much?

DS, Self Care, and Calm Spirit basically got gutted and 2 of those were meta perks. You guys are so desperate to cry victim over perks in a game to the point you had to create a thread using evidence that's not even supporting you just to cry Mald and seethe.

The meta itself has been gutted on BOTH sides so the fact you guys spew the same KiLlEr GoT gUtTeD crap is wild.

  • @MrPeanutbutter said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/366845/to-everyone-saying-dh-is-so-easy-to-counter

It’s completely out of control and the only ones who don’t agree with this are survivor mains who never play killer and will also never play a match without DH because they would lose way more matches without it. At high levels, killers regularly have to deal with 5-10 extra health states on top of the advantage that survivors already get from communication in SWF teams.

    how is this fair?

Let's not hop on the "ThIs Is NoT fAiR" bandwagon acting as if both sides don't create unfair and uncountetable situations via perks and gameplay. Seriously don't do it

So, are you really going to lecture me about how this was clearly a skill issue?

Omg you guys cannot shut up about this. He literally still got a 4k after eating the DHs. If anything, all you did was prove how DH isn't the problem perk you think it is if people can activate it and still lose.

Honestly find something else to complain about

If I made a post about how much I love women upon discovering that one of the DBD characters was a heterosexual woman, would that get pinned to the top of the forum? 🤔

It's almost like heterosexual relationships were the standard unless it was interracial which is a separate issue that got normalized even faster than homosexual relationships. Open up a history book instead of spouting ignorant crap like this

  • Wow so this is what we came back to? Got it.

First DH wasn't even as problematic as it was for a long time because exhausted on he ground was a thing, then it got worse to he piin it was unusable during 5th anniversary. It took months to get hit validation and guess what happened? The servers basically crapped themselves and didn't down people when it should and it obviously needed a change.

Then comes the new DH that actually got nerfed twice if we count PTB to be a 0.5 second parry that's more counter able than old DH but now m1 and Ranged killers that aren't Deathslinger got cucked and now we're circling back to old DH?

Please make up your minds. Do you want old DH or do you want new DH? I'd rather it be gone from the game just so you guys can shut up about it for 5 seconds.

  • @ironblade said:

They tried their hardest to bring out a good chapter and they did. The balance and scream changes are good, the maps done right, the killer is really fun and good and the survivors are top notch. I'm glad they made survivors better now that eruption has been nerfed.

Yeah I'm not very thankful for dull merchant (aka predator from wish) or the changes. I would've been happy if Eruption blocked the gen for 25 seconds and not aura reading. The hook screams are painfully dreadful depending on who got hooked, barely any perks got changed, and BHVR seems to only make fun licensed killers and make original ones boring just to p2w a game you have to play for to play most of the time.

This was a failure of a chapter through and through.

  • The problem is I have no qualms with 3 gen defense at all. Every tactic that's not against the rules is fair play. Everything. My problem that I have is when people smack talk when relying on these strategies with success or failure not mattering. I also have a problem when my teammates cannot comprehend with the idea of not 3 genning if the killer wasn't defending it at the start

  • I guess top players of the game in tournaments. That's the only thing that is skillful since the rest of the game can be argued for a lack of skill

  • @Thusly_Boned said:

Sorry that was your experience, but I experience stuff like that maybe one of every 10 games, where as at least one survivor will act toxic in at least a third of my killer matches. I don't get bent out of shape about it, it just is what it is. A certain percentage of people are dicks.

Is your experience more represtative than mine?

    It's all anectotal.

And the numbers game thing is just a statistical thing, as there are four times as many survs than killers, so you are more likely to be BMed by one than a killer in a given match. It's not an "argument", it's just reality.

Unless you actually believe that 4X+ aholes play killer than survivor, that the role attracts aholes while surv attracts more civil people, in which case I would say you are blinded by bias.

I don't believe any killer is 4x whatever. My point is people bring up numbers game with this community when time and time again relative data isn't a smart argument. Remember Sadako having the highest kill rate in top MMR?

We can't use points like 4v1 when data like that is heavily skewed and misrepresented

  • @TheAcidFairy said:

Unless you really need that fourth perk, just run light born. It fits any build, can counter survivors really well, even has a chance to beat 2 survivor perks. They brought a flashlight? How wasteful of them! Best of all, you only need it at tier 1! Forget tiering it up, that's for chumps... just prestige once billy and your done. Best perk for all killers.

Why would I run a bad perk like Lightborn if I can run literally anything else and actually get value? Survivor flashie squads are the easiest to bait out for free hits so why would I invite people to crunch gens?

  • @Thusly_Boned said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3353742#Comment_3353742

Yeah, anyone who says only one side is toxic only plays one side.

And there is stuff each side does that really invites it. That said, it is mostly a player issue, not as role issue. Things like carrying your angst from one match to the next is the result of being immature and petty.

Why are people toxic to begin with? Could be a lot of things, but my bet is that most of the time they are just carrying their irl BS into the game, and it is contagious. It's all a manifestation of the boundary aggression that is essentially everywhere in the online world.

Now after 3K+ hours divided between both roles, I do think you are more likely to be subjected to toxicity from survs than killers (mostly because it's a numbers game), but when it comes from killers, it's most often a power trip thing. The thing about that that is that you can feel super powerful as a killer, or totally powerless. Experiencing the latter can definitely feed indulging in the former (in immature people).

I love it when people say numbers game yet the last 20 matches I played as survivor were exactly like op except one killer kept harassing me in PS chat to the point I had to block and report them. Numbers game is never going to be a strong argument

  • @wydyadoit said:

i’ll body block you into a corner as pyramid head and draw a line around you just to mori you

i’ll drag you crying and screaming from the edge of the gate with my iron grip build straight to the basement and make you crawl your way back out just for the memes.

sure i could hit you with my weapon, but it’s funnier watching you scream every time i hit you with my shock attack or bottle.

i’ll act out the scene from SNL as wraith and pretend you’re asking for more cowbell.

i use the scream port on nurse.

i go around collecting traps all game just to line all of then up at the exit gates then wait for noed and blood warden to pop at trapper.

i use map offerings as hillbilly.

i say ggwp at the end of rounds ironically. And the best part is you’ll never know if i really mean it.

And you better believe that i 360 noscope when firing off crows and hatchets.

not a fun thing to deal with regardless.

everything about this perk is bad design from the fact it encourages tunneling to the fact it's rewarding survivors for performing badly in the match and punishing the killer for spreading hooks.

it's not fun to play against, niche and extremely punishing for the other side when it works.

"we need perks like this in the game" said nobody. game would've been perfectly fine without such stuff.

I can't argue against that. Especially that one unhook exhaust perk. That's definitely a tunnel harder perk

And a majority of the killers I face are way worse than any survivor I face. What's the point with this us v them salt mine?

  • @EntitySpawn said:

Your post lost all meaning when you said all console players the worst.

Like get off your pc master race high horse and stop insulting people. I have seen people on all platforms play well, bad, camp etc. So dont try single people out because they didnt buy a massively expensive system and just went with what's best for them.

Camping can suck, especially when it's at 5 gens (even though that means the person who did the chase did awful) but I get it's not fun. But at certain situations camping is legit a strat to push for the win, the game isnt balanced for hooks it's done for kills.

In a perfect world I'd love camping and tunneling not to exist for survivors or for it to be needed to win as killer, but that's never going to happen with how balance and certain actions push games

Is it me or do some PC players have such a massive ego just because they play PC? It's almost Tru3 levels of ego atp

  • @MonsterDilf said:

Ah, nothing like starting off the night with a console Killer (as usual they're the worst,) camping the hook of any survivor. This guy let the gens get pushed, I managed 2.5 before attempting to rescue a Steve who was routinely hooked, tunneled, and the killer just stood around him, waiting for someone to rescue him.

"oH bUt yOu cOuLd hAvE rUsHeD gEnS" I hear your screech! I did, but I also feel bad for the survivors who have to spend their game, laying on the ground, and then getting hooks and sitting there for 120 seconds + bleed out time.

One thing I notice commonly in the camping discussion (tunneling is a different topic) is this patronizing "well you should just do this," attitude, which really does not set tone for a proper dialogue about the issue at hand. It REEKS of this crabs in a bucket mentality, and I'm not here for that: killers and survivors deserve a good mix of risk/reward.

cant wait to see how many posts hit me with a cry harder/rush gens/thats just how it is/should killers just not have any fun then/dont play the game

Leave to PC players to always find a way to dump on console players acting as if they're superior. A lot of you guys aren't great at killer so let's drop the console slander, K?

  • Its weird. People are off their rockers about DH but now a perk that only benefits perks that aren't DH needs to be nerfed.

  • @EntitySpawn said:

    Two things.

    1. It's clearly too strong, doesn't matter if its situational or not theres a bunch of killer stuff that is situational and not this strong. Remember this can happen multiple times a trial as theres multiple survivors.

    2. This is just a big F you to people that want to try play in a more fun/fair way for the survivors. It punishes you for not tunneling, as soon as the perk is out any time I play killer I'll just tunnel after the second hook. Screw dealing with double exhaustion because I played nice, theres enough BS to deal with as is.

How exactly would you know the perk is in play outside of adepts (weird to tunnel people for adept achievements btw)? You wouldn't know the perk is in play until it's been used. It really seems like you guys are finding more excuses to tunnel even harder as if we aren't in a tunnel meta rn

  • @OrangeBear said:

It's more effective to run no exhaustion perk if you are not running dead hard.

I doubt the validity in that statement

  • Anyways can't wait to see the responses in the morning since it's late. I'm expecting very little but do try to surprise me and not go the whole KiLlEr MaInS or SuRvIvOr MaInS route to blame people for a stale meta

  • @MyelinXCVIII said:

Ok, so for campers and high mobility killers, I agree that this could be a decent time investment.

I primarily play Legion and if I happen to be around the hook when an unhook happens, I will try to get a chain going off of both survivors. When I'm not playing Legion though, I'm not going to travel a sizeable portion of the map just to deny one perk that they might not even use aggressively.

Right now the meta is holding a three gen from the start with eruption, not camping/tunneling. When eruption gets gutted, we will probably go back to Pain Res + Dead Man's which will heavily punish hook trades and synergise with camping so maybe hitting the unhooked might be less of a time sink then.

Of course none of what anyone has said so far addresses the problem that I have with the perk when I'm playing as a survivor with someone who does nothing just to get value from the perk.

I hate people who try to get perk value when it's not needed. If I'm going for the save, I'll most likely be injured and still have enough space to make it to a tile. They become tunnelling targets then dc because of it

  • @MyelinXCVIII said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3347085#Comment_3347085

Oh, I see. Your method of dealing with the perk is to pretend to tunnel and then abandon chase once all the anti-tunnel measures have been exhausted. I got it now.

No sane person is going to do that. You'd waste way more time than they would have if you had ignored them and they saved their OTR. Not only that but at the point in which you know they have no defenses (OTR gone, DH unusable due to deep wounds. Maybe they have DS but no one really uses that despite it still being decent) why wouldn't you hook them again?

The only scenario I can see your method actually being good is if you're camping the hook, at which point you're either already losing the game or you're a [BAD WORD].

Literally every person hits the unhooked person so they waste time mending. And if we really want to go there, let's not pretend and act like we aren't in a meta of tunnel/proxy camping near a hook. A lot of killers hover around the hook if they can defend it and a 3 gen. All I did was say to force them to not be on gens.

Also I main a killer with mobility so it's not like I'm actually wasting time when I can easily engage chase after hitting the unhooked person and going after the unhooker
