Hmm, that's odd, I don't recall making a thread about how many times this thread has been made. I must be confused as your response would only make sense if I had made a thread about such a topic.
Its more like that your Thread is not special at all, there is no reason to open it. Devs are aware of it.
Not to mention that there have been worse cases, 1 Survivor is only 1 Rank higher and two out of three are still in the acceptable Range of +/- 6.
-
Whats the point of creating the 500th Thread about Matchmaking? Yes, it is broken. This was told 499 times before your thread.

Right. I guess that's why in-game communication is so frequently used... oh, wait...

This makes far more sense. If I'm going to be limited to maybe 6,000 blood points because I got steamrolled, I'd feel less crippled if it became 12,000 with a x2 bonus.
In my experience, SWFs like yours are outliers, not the norm.
Yeah, ingame Comms with such a wholesome Community. What should go wrong?
Cannot wait for being called things in Russian, Italian and German because I did not run the Killer around for 15 Gens.
-
"as it was intended to be anyway from the start"
Oh look, someone else who thinks that SWF was never planned.
A Debuff to Healing and Genspeed would not make sense. This would also hurt Solo players, if I am playing Solo with 3 man-SWF, they would all be slow on Gens (and not the usual "not doing Gens", but actually slow when workingon them) and be slow when healing me. So while playing Solo I would have the same disadvantages.
Besides that, the idea of buffing Solos to SWF-Level is to buff Killers accordingly.
Let alone that Killer-gameplay is not as bad as people claim it to be...
-
The majority of people are not complaining about the removal of super-strong Loops, they are complaining that the Devs over-reacted on some of them.
Like - Coal Tower, the Windows are free Hits. You need to be a really, really bad Killer to not get a Hit there. And Coal Tower was not really a problem, ti was one of the most balanced Maps in the game.
Or Storehouse, same, free Hit because the Survivor is forced to run into the Killer. And here it would have been enough to just close the God Window all the time.
Same with Pantry, free Hit.
Ironworks is either an Infinite or - guess what - a free hit.
Not to forget that while it is good to make sure that strong Structures dont spawn next to each other, having exactly nothing in some areas is not good. You can also not get better if you dont have anything to use. There is 0 Skill involved or Skill does matter at all, when you have nothing.

nah, the problem is the code, not me. I think you haven't read all I wrote, I'll repeat: in other games, it doesn’t throw me out of matches at the slightest loss of connection. The words about the fact that I should not play online games with a poor Internet connection, however, my Internet connection is quite good, sounds very disrespectful to me, as a person. be careful with the words.
Yeah, and in this game you get kicked when you are losing connection. So dont play this game until you did not fix your router problem. Easy as that.
-
"Most likely, the problem is in the game code and it turns out that the game destroys not only my experience, but also the experience of other players, since I can be throwed out at the beginning of the match because of this problem. "
Nah, the problem is you, not the code. The problem is the guy who wants to play an Multiplayer Onlinegame while not having a good connection. The other 4 players in the game dont care if you DC intentionally or get crashed out of the game, they are either in a 3v1 from that point or the game ends completely, when you are the Killer.
-
This game is not competitive. Players who cannot lose a game behave like it is competitive, but the game itself is a casual game.
-
You need to play Leatherface with Add-Ons, which means, less Chargetime. Those are basically his best Add Ons, or most likely the only Add Ons which make sense on him. There is a huge difference between Base Leatherface and Leatherface with Tuning Guide/Primer Bulb.
You also can only rely on your Chainsaw when you are 100% sure that it will get a Hit. Billy is more forgiving on that, he can recover quite quickly, but when a Leatherface does not hit, thats already bad and when he bumps into something, the Survivor is gone.
He is not than bad to play with good Add Ons and Perks, but certainly one of the weakest Killers and in desperate need of a Rework to make him a) better and b) more unique.

You might Head on my huntress once solo, i'm fine with that - thx for the lols.
But against coordinated SWFs it can be really annoying when they loop you arround locker areas.
Esp. when they going down right in front of lockers and you have to check them before picking up.
To be fair, if there was someone in a Locker, you have two Hooks at this point. I would totally trade checking Lockers next to downed people (if I dont open them by accident anyway, lol) for a potential down without any effort.
@Topic:
Yeah, I have read it from other people already that Head On is OP, but well, it is not. Players are risking to get insta-downed just for a 3 second Stun which does not give that much distance. Saves should also be easy to avoid as Killer, just go a long way around Lockers or dont pick up people in front of Lockers without checking them.
-
Highly agree. I think back in the day when Deep Wound was introduced, the Screen got darker when the Timer was running down. Now it gets darker over time, and even if my eyes are not that bad, I barely can see anything after a while. And mending is not always an option, if a Killer is after me, I cannot stop to mend.
-
As it was already written, you are not supposed to wiggle off. Wiggling is a) immersion (you want to wiggle free from that bad guy who is carrying you) and b) to avoid being hooked where the Killer wants you to get hooked.
It is also a Core Mechanic of the game (Killers putting Survivors on Hooks), so it should never be too difficult to do that. If a Killer messes up with their Hooks, they can indeed have problems to find some nearby, if they already used them. But in general, this core mechanic should not be removed. This is why Sabotage is still not very strong (despite being buffed).
I agree that on some Maps there are too many Hooks, because sometimes I almost can hold hands with another hooked Survivor. However, I think (and this is only speculation) that the Hooks are balanced around the worst case scenario - 4 people burning Petrified Oaks. Even in this case, there should be Hooks nearby so that the Killer can hook Survivors.
(And well, most of the time I think the Hook Spawns are fine. There are some edge cases, but nothing too crazy)
-
It is mostly affected by the time you are playing. In the evening, when I play SWF with a friend, I have Lobby times of around 3 minutes. If I play Solo during the Day, my Queues are instant.
Killer in the evening is instant, but until Afternoon, it takes like 2-5 minutes to find a game.
(Those are my usual waiting times, at least Killer is faster right now, probably because many people are at home. But Survivor is still pretty fast during the day)
-
So you only got a 3K instead of a 4K? Man, I feel bad for you...
-
Also, being featured in a Tome does not mean that he gets Changes. Like 1 out of 5 Killers so far got changes, this does not mean that every Killer will get a Rework when their Tome arrives.
-
What was the thought process behind the Add On Change (Survivors lose their Add Ons when they escpae), considering that Survivors get less BPs (and have it harder to get Bonus BPs) compared to Killers and have 3 times as many Items and Add Ons than Killers?
-
At best, you can trade. Even with BT it is not guaranteed that the guy you unhooked can get away. So if someone is camped by a Leatherface, do Gens and dont feed him more Kills. And if you are camped by a Leatherface, at least dont ######### to give your team time to do Gens. Sucks for the person on the hook but thats the best they can do.
-
Ah yeah, Comms, the tool which make Potatoes into godlike players /s
-
I like Lerys - since the Rework the Map looks really nice and I enjoy to play it, just for that reason. Also they added signs to show where Generators are, which was my biggest problem before. I dont mind it as Killer either.
The Game, I hate on both sides. As Survivor, finding Gens is annoying as well as hearing the Terror Radius. As Killer, all those safe Pallets just annoy me. On both sides, I think the gameplay on The Game is boring. There are only like two Windows downstairs and the gameplay is done by running around safe Pallets without any variations. Even as Survivor you cannot really do something like combining Pallets with a Window, because there are only Pallets. But I like the game slighly more as Killer.
Hawkins, I usually hate with both sides. They went too far with the Pallets, they are too unsafe. I dont know about Killer, because every fking time I get on Hawkins I play Billy and keep bumping into everything.

Cheap games (and especially F2P-games) are tend to be more toxic. Because even if you get banned, you can create a new account for not so much money.
A friend once told me about a game he is playing where you need to pay 60 Euros to actually play it (one-time). He said it has a pretty nice community, because it is not cheap and nobody wants to throw away that amount of money.

No i already picked them up they flashlighted me as i was walking
Then you should not look at the Flashlight, like I have written, look up. If you look at the Flashlight, it is quite easy to get the blind. The critical point is to use the Flashlight so that you are blinded when the picking animation ends (because during the animation the Survivor can blind the Killer, but they will not drop the Survivor). If you are not stuck in an animation and someone is blinding you with a Flashlight and you dont avoid it at all, you will drop the Survivor.
-
Yes, it is supposed to happen. And it is probably one of the most skillful things a Survivor can do.
It is also counterable by looking at a wall or at least turning around before picking up. And if a Survivor is trying to blind you, look up as fast as possible, because if they did not get the timing right, you will be blinded, but not dropping the Survivor. If you keep looking at the Flashlight, you will eventually drop the Survivor.
-
I am glad that all of your 6 Threads are with a Screenshot of the Matchmaking. And amused that you did not censor your name in the first one, which was "Lets Derank :)"
-
Agreed to both posts.
Either give him 5 Traps by Default, with the Bags increasing this number, or give him at least one other Trap and place the remaining Traps more in the Center of the Map instead of the corners.
(I would prefer him starting with all Traps by Default, this would also have the nice effect that Survivors cannot spawn right next to a Trap and know that they are going against a Trapper)

The difference is, Huntress has a wind up, a much more unforgiving 1 hatchet before a long lockwer search and reload, then have to rinse and repeat.
Can we stop with that "1 Hatchet"-thing when talking about Iridescent Head? She has 3 Hatchets because 99% of the time the Add On is used with the Infantry Belt. And yes, she cannot use other Add Ons like Wind-Up or Cooldown anymore, but this does not matter when she has the, by far, strongest Add On Combination.

It is so random, came out of nowhere and I had only seen one or two people suggest it once.
It's like the devs didn't even consider the situation survivors are in. Their bloodwebs have 55 different addons and 5 items, each with different rarities. Add to that the amount of map, luck and bloodpoint addons they also get. So they're less likely to not get the addons they're looking for and have to spend a lot of bp to get a decent chance of getting them. This is much harder than for killers that have less addons, doesn't have to buy their power, but also gain a significantly bigger amout of bloodpoints each game. This change is espacially hurting new players they have very little at the start of the game.
Still hope they revert the change someday...though knowing BHVR, it's most likely never gonna happen.
I guess most people would love to see this change reverted. But I have the same opinion - if you just put a little bit of thought into it you will notice that it is a bad idea. So I have to assume that the Devs did not put any thought into it. The fact that they always ignore this topic and never said anything about there reasoning is even more confirming that.
So "It's like the devs didn't even consider the situation survivors are in" is pretty damn true.

That's me, the Meg.
The day I was playing with Puppers, we went against a Rank 1 Nurse.
We all got out.
And don't say "Well, you're a SWF, or blah blah blah."
We have 0 comms. She got 2 hooks and that's it.
YOU'RE WRONG.
Being Rank 1 does not mean that she is a good Nurse. Can be Rank 1 with a lot of other Killers and trying to learn Nurse. (However, if there ever will be a ranking for each Killer, Rank 1 Nurses will probably the most terrifying thing in this game)
@Topic:
Yes, 100% agreed, a really good Nurse Player is very hard to beat. But you dont find that many of them, you will find decent Nurses and they will be a threat, but not unbeatable. If you find someone who is really, really good with her, its gg. But this is quite rare. Before her Rework there were more unbeatable Nurses, because of the strong Add On Combos. There was one guy on EU who always either used Omegablink or 3 Blinks with Range Add On and was slugging with Infectious Fright. Havent seen this guy since the Rework.

You know he didnt meant that, the problem is the survivour side who try to be cocky, get hit, DC and go on cry here instead of dodging the hatchet after they found out its insta down. Sure you cant do much if she is on you but lets be honest, if you let a huntress be on top of you, thats your fault not the add ons fault. I admit dedicated server made it harder to dodge it sometimes because "reasons" but the bad hitbox also on side of the survivours when the hatchet cant even fly over a simple tire.
Huntress is most likely the Killer I see the most, since the number of Deathslingers decreased. So I know how bad the Hatchet-Hits are, and you dont need to be a really good Huntress to win with Iridescent Head.
Like, I am starting to learn her, because I want to have it easier when the Tome arrives. I usually get a 1K or 2K. With less than 10 matches played on Huntress (at least seriously, with Perks and not just for a Daily). Yesterday I tried out Iri Heads and it would have been a 4K with 4 Gens left, but I let everyone escape and just farmed points with them, because I only wanted to try out this Add On.
If a Noob like myself can get a 4K at Red Ranks with Iridescent Head, people who are decent with her can even be more devastating. And I dont want to imagine what happens if really skilled Huntresses like Scott or Ralph would start running this Add On.
I dont DC myself, but I cannot blame people for DCing against Iri Head Huntress at all, it is the only Add On (maybe except for the Tombstone Piece) I would consider OP. I really hope the Devs will nerf this Add On when they are reworking Huntress Add Ons, she is already a pretty strong Killer without it.
-
Blinding at Pallets is actually not the smartest move, especially when being injured and not running Iron Will. If you can hear them (injured sounds, footsteps), you can still follow them while blinded, so the Blind will result in a bad situation for the Survivor, since they spend the time blinding you instead of getting distance.
So it can easily backfire to them.
I personally have no problems with being blinded, most of the time I can hear the Survivor and they will stop blinding after I got in a hit or two.
-
Apparently there is some form of Killer Rebellion where they want to bring Ebony Moris to mori DS-Users so that DS get nerfed. Heard about it in Tofus Stream and it is ridiculous.
Myself I have not experienced an increase in Moris, I get like 1 or 2 Moris every evening, so this is a normal rate.
-
You mean because there are some people who are reasonable and care for the other side that this Add On is in no need of getting nerfed?
Sure...
You know, I dont use Keys. So they are fine.

@BigTimeGamer said:
i only give credence to Ranks 1 and 2 since, in the words of Tru3, those players are consistent.
still get a number of boosted monkeys, but you'll notice 1/2 is way better than 3/4
I look at it from a time perspective - someone who is Rank 1 shortly after Rank Reset is better than someone who is Rank 3 or 4 close before Rank Reset. This was even more drastic with the old Rank Reset (which was way better).
-
According to other Users here, all Red Ranks are 100% skilled, often found in 4 man Squads and Killers have never a chance to win a game.
So it might be just you.

The fact you think her best add-ons are the extra trap or crouching time is hilarious. It is clearly the tampered timer + extra box. That is literally a set and forget mori. There is a 1/5 chance the survivor doesn't live from it, there is no time to check all 5 boxes in 2 minutes. You tunnel them for a little bit while crouched? Now its a 2/5 chance they just die outright from it.
There's plenty of maps you can bodyblock survivors at the boxes. Lery's is especially horrible for that. You can just sit in front of a box until someone searches it and then block them in for a free head trap kill. The fact you don't know all this means you don't play alot of pig.
Pig is the only killer in the game I am happy to see gens pop on. But she is still trash.
Those are her best Add Ons, sorry to break it for you. Tampered Timer and the Extra Box dont do that much, if the Survivor can still get rid of the Trap on their first Box. And even with both Add Ons it is usually possible (on every Map) to remove the Trap, even tho it is more stressful.
Bodyblocking only makes sense if the Pig keeps Track of the number of Boxes or of the Beeping of the Survivor. If a Pig is doing that, it can force a Death, this is correct.
And I main PIg. But yeah, nice to see no arguments.

Try rereading the entire sentence and think it over.
Well, you did not mention with any word that you tried to get the Trap off your head.
But usually a Trap is not a Death, I faced a lot of Pigs and I died to the Trap only a handful of times, even when the Pig Player was running strong Add Ons. The Trap is only a guaranteed Death if she is blocking the Box with the Key.
@Shocktober said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1208925#Comment_1208925
Pig is terrible. She is an M1 killer, who can maybe do something with the lunge at some short loops which are unsafe anyways. The traps are pure RNG. They are only set-and-forget mori's if you run two very specific add-ons. And even then, it's a 1/5 chance it works.
Unless you are following someone with an active head trap while crouch, which is a borderline abuse of the game.
Pig is not terrible at all, she is a solid mid-tier Killer. Nothing compared to other M1-Killers like Billy or Freddy, but far away from being terrible. Sure it sucks if Survivors get the Trap off on their first attempt, but usually they provide good Slowdown. Pig is one of those Killers who just needs an Add On Rework (given the fact that her best Add Ons are yellow (extra Trap) and brown (crouching time)).
-
"If you're going to have such a broken mechanic, there needs to be some amount of counter play & not have to spend the entire game running in a circle waiting to die."
Did you try out those highlighted Boxes? Because when I read this sentence, I would assume, you did not.

@NursesBootie said:
Just a quick thought of little poor me.
Keys without addons just got two base stats: duration and range. You can't open the hatch with them anymore. As a tradeoff you can read survivor AND killer auras with the two stats you got on the key. For example:
|Green Key| 10 seconds duration, 8 metres range
|Purple Key| 15 seconds duration, 12 metres range
|Iridescent Key| 20 seconds duration , 16 metres range
Addons like Blood Amber and Gold Token now increase the aura reading range on either the killer or survivors.
And now the big one: The addons "Milky Glass" and "Weaved Ring" get a rework. They grant you the ability to open the hatch with the key.
The new addons:
|Weaved Ring| Removes the natural aura reading abilities of the key. Grants the ability to open the hatch with the key after channeling for 8 seconds with a map wide non directional sound queue.
|Milky Glass (New rarity, rare)| Removes the natural aura reading abilities of the key. Grants the ability to open the hatch with the key after channeling for 15 seconds with a map wide non directional sound queue.
And? What do you guys think about my idea, going in line with a mori change of course?
@BigBrainMegMain @GrootDude @Peanits @DepressedClownMain @SurviveByDaylight @Almo @Aven_Fallen @DepressedNurseMain @not_Queen
First of all, I love the idea of having Keys as a Player-Aura Read. I am not sure if it should be for Killer and Survivor at base, because while it might only be 8 meters, this would be enough to see the Killer in a chase and eliminate the Mindgame Potential the Killer might have.
Using Add Ons to open the Hatch would be an option, indeed. Also a channeling time is ok, but why a sound? To alert the Killer that someone is about to open the Hatch? Depending where he is, this might not help at all. And if the Hatch is far away from the Exit Gates, this would be hard to patrol. I am twisted on this one, because on one hand I would love if the Killer would have to do something to avoid an Escape by patrolling between Hatch and Exit Gates, on the other hand it could be quite unfair for one side or the other.
Personally, I would only let the pink Key open the Hatch and keep the Add Ons the same, except for Milky Glass and Weaved Ring. Those should change so if the Hatch is opened, the Key is gone. Same for the Survivor dying, he should not have an option to keep the Key in this case.
(Even tho, for my idea Keys should not spawn in chest, making Plunderers a Perk even less people would use, because they main reason to run it is for Keys, while your idea would not result in that, since the Survivor finds a Key they can use and if they want to find one to open the Hatch, they need to dedicate two Perk Slots to it AND get lucky... So I would say that your idea would make more sense, because it is always good if Perks dont get killed and there is some variety)

Badham still always has the house of pain, the two story building, two god pallets in the school, and plenty of good pallets besides.
Every Pallet outside of a Building is unsafe tho. So while the Pallets in the Building are strong, the ones outside are 100% playable by the Killer.
@Topic:
I would say Ormond is worse. Beside strong Structures and huge size, Ormond is also bugged when it comes to Scratchmarks.
-
If you want to go for BPs, play Killer. You get more BPs and BBQ is easier to get Stacks on than WGLF.
I think Freddy is the Killer who gets a lot of BPs, 32k BP games are quite frequent, with BBQ those are already 64k BPs.
-
Spirit is stronger, but I prefer to play as and against Billy. A good Billy is the most fun Killer to go against, and it is also fun to go for Chainsaws and Curves.
Spirit is...meh.
-
Regarding an Icon: I dont see why the Killer cannot take care for that on their own. You have to use like 3 of your braincells for that. If you cannot remember names, just the position of the Survivor in the UI is enough. If I can do that, I am pretty sure that more competent Killers than I am can do that as well.
Second, I dont think that punishing the Killer in that way will help. Because tunneling one Survivor out of the game as early as possible is sadly the best way of winning the game. I dont think that Killers will care that much for their Emblem Points, because they can get them "back" with their other Chases and have a way higher chance of winning this game, which rewards more Emblem Points.
-
Trapper does not need a full rework IMO. It would already help a lot if he gets more Traps. Either 5 Traps by default and the Bags increase (1, 2 and 3 more Traps) or at least one or two more Traps and the rest to pick up (but more in the middle of the Map instead of far in any corners).
This would already do quite a lot to Trapper. Other things can be thought about afterwards, but I think this is the minimum that can be done and would already have a good impact, because then Trapper players would not need to dedicate one Add On Slot to a Bag-Add On all the time.
-
Either Quentin or Ash, both because they need actual money to be obtained. Maybe Ash is a little bit worse, because you only pay for him, while when getting the Nightmare on Elm Street-DLC, you at least get Freddy as well.
Also Ash is annoying.

Yeah, because running around with Inner Strength searching for a totem is so much more efficient.
Or just use Iron Will and be efficient while injured. Thats how it works.
(even tho, I prefer people with Inner Strength over Survivors who use Self-Care. The Inner Strength-players either will not heal because they dont have a Totem or will at least do it quite fast, while the Self-Care player will go into a corner and heal for 40 seconds against Sloppy Butcher)

Questionable if it will be the same on live. During the Oni PTB my Dead Hard worked all the time, but we know how the current reality is.
But yes, no more Dedicated Hits would be great, even tho it is quite funny to see how some Killers are trying to get Dedicated Hits. But they are probably the most annoying thing right now for Survivors, I totally accept getting hit when I was too greedy or when I am too dumb to do fast vaults, but not when played correctly and simply got punished because the Killer is casually eating a Big Mac while playing DBD in his home McDonalds.
