  • Imagine a big, intimidating Killer who comes to a Online-Forum after losing 1 game to complain while tears are running out of his eyes.

  • Why should the Killer have to spend those seconds to break a Wall to actually play the game?

Partially this, but also because there's not really a single good name for them. Some people call them infinites for example, but they're not infinite, so we can't call them that. Internally, we call them different things which is fine because everyone knows what we're talking about, but we'll typically call them strong windows externally. I went ahead and updated them for clarity.

"unbalanced windows" would be a term which would fit without calling Survivors out for exploiting.

  • Piggy, I just like basic M1-Killers and she also provides a Slowdown.

  • Quite a lot of stuff.

I never complained about survivors working on the same gen. I complained about 3 gens popping at the same time while I down 1. Survivors working on the same gen is a blessing in the beginning. The only thing this patch will do is make 3 gen stronger. If multiple survivors all get on the same gen it won't repair as fast.

I am sorry to disappoint you, but my mind does not circle around you (whoever you are). Just stating what was one of the biggest complaints during the past weeks/months.

But I am doing something, I am trying to find the hatch so I can close it as soon as only one is left.

Well, you lose your 250 points for closing the Hatch (if you did not max out on Deviousness anyway), while the Survivor loses almost 900 points in the category which will 100% not be maxed when he is sacrificed.

Its sad, because that is the opposite of the real issue. These changes will only encourage the above mentioned strategy.

You should explain this to the people who complained. But I doubt you will have much success.

  • And yet the most complaining came when the first Gens got done fast, because Survivors spawned together. So the Devs are basically reacting to the complains on the forum.

  • @Peanits said:

Basically when everyone is in struggle and nobody can possibly free themselves, it skips everyone straight to the sacrifice stage (much like when you hook the last survivor) so you aren't waiting around for a minute doing nothing and waiting for them to die. It won't change the actual gameplay, it'll just end the game when you can't possibly survive.

Well, then give Struggle Points. Personally I dont care that much, but when something like a Bloodhunt is going on, those 800-something points are not that bad, combined with a BPS, the event and WGLF.

EDIT: Also - when someone is on their first hook while the other Survivors are either dead or hooked (second stage), can the person on the first hook still try to get free?

Agreed. There’s no cool down on any other aura reading perks as far as I’m aware, and it’s not like seeing pallet/window auras is some overpowered ability. Even if they removed the cooldowns and buffed the range of both perks, I doubt they’d see much more use except by new players and in niche builds.

If they would buff Range and remove the Cooldown, those two Perks might be useful learning tools. I see Windows as somewhat decent, because it might help Solo Survivors to see where Pallets and Windows are or which ressources have been used.

But without the things mentioned, new players will have an efficient learning tool and it would also help experienced players to learn new Maps (at least that is what I would use Windows for).

  • Can I spawn with a Key if the Killer brings a Mori? When nobody brings any items?

(even tho it would still not be a "fair trade" at this point, because Moris are stronger)

  • If this can be done without much effort, sure, why not.

  • While I also think that Dedicated Servers are a big fail and should be scrapped or postponed (in my opinion, if anything will kill this game, Dedicated Servers will do), opting in or out of Dedicated Servers will be bad.

You will split the number of players, meaning that there will be longer Queue Times. And this is something which should be avoided.

  • Regarding Zenshin tactics, Cruel Limits and Windows of Opportunity:

Those were not used often. I can see Windows as a semi-decent Perk, but Cruel Limits and Zenshin Tactics were nearly useless. Windows could need a Buff anyway, the range is too low.

Lithe-->Depends how the Loops are. It will still be used, I guess, from what we have seen on the Screenshots, only the problematic Windows will have a Door. I highly doubt that Jungle Gyms will get a doorway next to the Window. Changing Loop Tiles or the distance between Tiles will not Windows disappear.

Bamboozle-->This Perk basically had its justification for God Windows, but lets be real, people were using Bamboozle on mindgameable structures, because then they would not need to learn how to mindgame. They will still use Bamboozle, because why bother to learn how to run Tiles as Killer, when you can simply dedicate a Perk Slot to have it easier.

So yeah, the first three I mentioned could get some love anyway, but I dont think that Lithe or Bamboozle need changes.

The person running prove thyself is under the effect of prove thyself.

"Seriously don't make threads if you don't understand the mechanics."

While it is not the nicest way to say this, I 100% agree on this statement. I feel that a lot of people complaining about Prove Thyself dont understand how the Perk works.

Nothing to blame you @Promonex , but Prove Thyself only removes the Penalty for both Survivors you will get when repairing with another Survivor. And two Survivors having it will not result in an increased repair Speed, this is not how the Perk works.

  • I think Plague was a good Killer since she got released. But I am not a big fan of her, because I think she is quite boring to play. This opinion came before the recent Buff of giving her one Corrupted Fountain at the start, but for me it was kinda boring to puke on everyone until they are broken and then basically dont have a power anymore. Sure, everyone is Oneshot and this is good, and like I said, she is a good Killer, but it made her boring for me.

Also I am not a big fan of her Add Ons since things like Vile Purge effectiveness are only good until everyone is broken or things that affect her Corrupt Purge might not even come into effect (when not using an apple).

I dont have any Levels on her currently (she is P3-1), but maybe my opinion will change now that she got at least one fountain to use.

Haha no seriously though! I'm having an investigation into this perk. I love this game but I do miss when you would vault faster and you knew you'd make it across. Now it all feels dependent on luck.

I mean, you are completely right. I got two of those Hits yesterday in one match. Already running, Killer far enough away (on my screen), then I got sucked back and the hit so that it was "correct", meaning like on the Killers side. If I had used Lithe, I would have been exhausted on the ground (a familia feeling since I use Dead Hard) and had 150% Crawling Speed.

It is basically luck, you need to hope that the Killer has a stable, good internet connection and a low ping to the Server.

Some people are using Spine Chill and Resilience to get this extra Vault Speed to avoid Dedicated Hits, but I cannot see to use two Perk Slots to compensate for the bad Dedicated Servers.

While I dont think Lithe is a good Perk to begin with, I guess it is even worse with Dedicated Servers, and possibly way more frustrating. I would not use it, tbh.

  • You can crawl at higher Speed, this is awesome!

  • I think people like OP is one of the problems in this game.

  • Looking at your discussion history, I am not sure if you should make a "funny" thread about "Whiners".

  • Yeah, some Killers are way better than the Forum guys. "I lose, so the Devs are bad!"

Like, I vsed a Rank 10 Killer a few days ago. He should not have been in this Lobby, full of Red Ranks, he chased me for 3 Gens. All 4 escaped (he still got a few Hooks), and instead of blaming Gen Speed, SWF or the Map, he was like "gg" and "I spend too much time on you". Like - seeing the problem right away and not blaming the "toxic 4 man SWF" which was in fact a 2 man and 2 Solos or that Gens go too fast.

There is still hope that normal people exist in this game.

(Now he just needs to play vs Rank 10s instead of Rank 1s..)

  • @CallMeLs said:

In the screenshots They legit moved the window like 2 ft from where they were before, the god loops will still exist, none of these minor chances help the killer in any capacity they’re way too small to. Severe underkill.

I dont think you understood the Screenshots correctly. While the Nerfs to those Windows were 100% justified, they will nowhere near be as strong as they currently are.

  • So, Killers are getting some huge Buffs and you are already complaining before the PTB is even out?

If you fail to catch a Survivor in 80 seconds (at least) so that 3 Gens can be done, I think this is a case of "git gud".

  • @Nurgling7 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1196228#Comment_1196228

This. This is why I say this change is laughable. It was already common knowledge that 3 or more on a gen was pointlessly inefficient. 2 people per gen is still pretty efficient.

But you do realize that the game is not over after 1 or 2 Gens?

And you do also realize that the Killer is the factor that needs to get the Survivors away from Gens? And that this will be easier with the next patch?

Man, Killers get something huge and they are still complaining.

  • Prove Thyself is not really a Speedboost. And honestly, using it with 3 or 4 people on a Gen still provides some Data.

Unironically I think losing gens like that isn't okay. I don't care if I don't get a 3/4k, as long as I don't get BLINGBLINGBLING on my first hook, as it usually means I get to have a relaxing game and have fun. Those kind of games I'm more likely to give hatch, too.

Yeah, I personally dont care about Gens being done, as long as it is less than 5 Gens at the end of the game. Its just logical that Survivors will do Gens as long as they dont have other things to do (being chased or rescuing teammates). So I dont mind that at all.

  • While it is true that repairing different Gens is always faster, the most complains about this forum were

"I lost two Gens early" ("even if I still win the game, this is not ok!!!111")

And this gets addressed with that.

  • Maybe they removed all the Pallets in the Main Building?

  • @Freudentrauma said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1195625#Comment_1195625

I actually hope not. They have potential. Just need more thought put into it. Breaking a breakable wall just needs to be more of a good choice rather a chore.

I mean, if they implement them in a strategic way, they would be great. But the current version is just either "break this wall to have an easier time whenever you are chasing a Survivor here" or "Break the Wall to actually play the game" (Saloon). So realistically, it is never bad for a Killer to break a wall, there is no need to put a thought into that.

And this is something that should change - make them strategic, maybe put a breakable wall somewhere where it would give Killers good access to an area, but open another option for Survivors to use.

  • I hope they are scrapping it. The Maps can be reworked without breakable Walls, so I hope they will be removed on the Saloon as well (and the Structures will be updated to compensate this).

  • @Clevite said:

    Cj tech?

Vaulting a Pallet when a Survivor is downed next to it so that the Killer cannot break it, put picks up the Survivor instead, which allows for a Flashlight Save.

Can work, but unreliable. If people upload videos with a compilation of it, keep in mind that there will be most likely an equal (at least) number of times it did not work.

If someone suspects a Survivor wants to do it, hitting M1 instead of Space will help, because they guy trying to pull it off will just get hit (or even grabbed, when injured).

  • It does not mean anything anymore.

It used to mean "Killer is camping", but Survivors do it also when nobody is there. So I would not give anything on someone waving, there is no meaning anymore.

  • I rather hope they give us the option to have standard Terror Radius and Chase Music or the individual one. I only like Myers unique Chase Music and Terror Radius, I thought that it might be a license-thing when Demo got a unique music, but since they are doing that since Oni...

Like, I get when it is boring for some people to hear the same TR/Chase Music all the time, but others dont like unique musics, I like the original one a lot. Also it does not give me a headache like I get when playing Doctor.

  • @MegaWaffle said:

Player 1 "Hey Its Myers and hes chasing me.

Player 2/3/4 "Great we are doing gens!"

Now you instantly have 3 people on gens. That's the real power of SWF, not the bully/troll but the simple fact that you know whats happening everywhere all the time. Even chill SWF can just toss a "oh hes chasing me" and that's a big green light to do gens.

When 4 Solos are playing and 3 of them are not being chased, why should they not stick on Gens? If I am not getting chased, I will do a Gen. Simple as that.

  • @Trollthem said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1193763#Comment_1193763

What you don't understand is that survivor don't need to get balance landing spot they don't need more advantage in the game and killer doesnt need anymore mechanic in the game , they need to add things for the survivors so they don't just work on gens its boring for the survivor to just M1 and its boring for the killer to just go around gens find a survivor and hope to down him fast enough so you dont get 3 gens rushed in your face.

I think you did not understand my point at all.

  • For Killer, I dont even know. I play a lot of Killers, so I am using different Perks, but most likely either Whispers or Enduring. Enduring is always on my M1-Killers and when I dont play an M1-Killer and get stunned, it feels painfully long.

For Survivor, easily DS, after an evening of getting tunneled multiple games in a row while not having DS. Also it ensures that there is an Obsession, meaning that the Killer might not tunnel like crazy (which they 100% will do when there is no Obsession).

  • First of all, the game will most likely never be 100% balanced. It is as close as balanced as it ever was, but 100% balanced is not possible.

Second, if it is balanced, there is no Bloodlust anymore. Bloodlust is a band-aid, meaning that it will not be needed if this game would be balanced.

Third, Movement Speed is somthing where you need to be REALLY careful. There is a reason why PWYF is quite a weak Perk, because you cannot mess that much with Movement Speed.

And personally, I think that the rule "The Killer is faster than the Survivor" should be applied all the time (except Nurse, she is the exception).

  • The function of both Maps is the same, the Rainbow Map (the pink one) can track way more things than the green one. To track something, you need to go past it. If you use the Map afterwards, you will see the respective Object.

  • It was written in another Thread, but the Search-Function does not work, so I cannot look it up.

  • Breaking the Pallet removes Bloodlust, not getting stunned by a Pallet.

  • Discordance is better. For Surveillance you either need Ruin, or kick the Gen at one point. For Discordance you dont need any more Setup.

  • Chance is 50/50. Even if all Survivors burn the same Offering, this does not increase the Chances.

  • @matchmakingworksfine said:

This would be a terrible idea imo. Killer would get too much pre map Intel and survivors would always pick survivor sided maps like Hawkins pallet factory

Either you are trolling or you are terrible wrong when you think that Hawkins is a good Survivor Map.

  • Pig. You can get the other two with Shards.

  • I pre-registered, just so that other people can get the Rewards (players who will actually play DBD Mobile). Got an invite to the Beta, but cannot download the game because my Device is not supported.

But would have most likely not played it anyway, I dont think that Mobile Games are any good.

  • Yeah, ingame voice sounds great. Cannot imagine what can go wrong with such a wholesome Community. My heart is already melting when thinking about speaking to some of the people I experienced ingame.

  • Do it with Leatherface. Even better.

  • @Trollthem said:

What people don't understand is that its another mechanic added to for the killer so he lose much more time as if he had free time before , they seriously cant give anything to do for the survivors for once ?

They did not add this mechanic for the Killer to lose time. In fact, breaking every breakable Wall is good for the Killer, because he will only profit.

The implementation of breakable Walls is poor. Thats it. They are either at structures which can be played from the Killers Side, making them only something which makes a Structure useless, or are 100% mandatory to break (like the Walls on the Saloon). Both should not exist, neither should the Killer be able to make Structures braindead by just breaking a Wall, nor should the Killer need to break Walls to make Structures actually playable for him (the Breakable Walls in the Saloon should be doorways all the time).

So they implemented the Walls as a feature to help Killers, but they have done so quite badly. If breakable Walls would be implemented as a strategic feature, they would have been so much better. Like, Killer can break a Wall to have easy access to an area, but opens a good Balanced Landing Spot with that. This would give the Killer a choice (and not just: I break it to have it easy or I break it, because I have to break it) and would be so much better.
