No it shouldn't, because in maps hooks and killer belongings are different I believe.
Maps also track Hooks, so they count as Killer Belongings.

Doesn't it activate in killer belongings?
Then it would activate on Hooks as well.

What difference does it make?
Broken Bulb OP!
-
If it is on a reworked map it can always be assumed that it is a Bug before thinking that the Devs are shadownerfing a Killer. E.g. Trapper was/is (?) not able to place Traps there too.
On another Map it worked to infect the Switch, but this was before the latest Hotfix a few days ago.
-
I like when they do it, because it amuses me. Like, why take the BPs when you can also ragequit like a little baby?
And this ranges from Killers who DC when the fifths Gen got finished (despite having burned a Pudding, 4 BBQ-Stacks and probably AT LEAST 20k BPs without any multipliers) or that one Nea I downed right before she could open the Hatch I closed before with her Key.
-
Exactly, the Gens dont get powered.
See Adrenaline and NOED as reference:
Once the Exit Gates are powered, if there is a Dull Totem remaining on the Map, this Hex is applied to it.
Instantly heal one Health State and sprint at 150 % of your normal Running speed for 5 seconds when the Exit Gates are powered.
Those Perks need the Exit Gates to be powered, which means they will activate when the Hatch is closed and EGC starts. RBTs dont activate, since no Gen got done.
-
Nah. The chance to find the Key is lower. Only 1 Box can contain a Key, so statistically at base there is a 1 in 4 chance to find the Key. With an extra Box it is 1 in 5, which is better for the Killer.
-
Hag.
Just boring to play, because you cannot chase with her. She is strong, but I am always happy when I have all Perks on her after a new Patch.
-
If you work on a Gen, it is smarter to chase you off the Gen. Could also be possible that the injured guy was a good Looper and they switched targets.
Both which would actually be smart plays by the Killer.

That mori's where stronger in terms of balances honestly doesn't matter. Both were fun-killers that ended games prematurally.
By nerfing mori's first they bassicly unofficially announced keys are following soon and we have the insta heal problem again.
I'm extremly glad that mori's were nerfed but they really should have waited untill both were ready.
When they already have a reputation of being survivor sided, stuff like this really doesn't help
Also no offence. But you're reallly being delusional if you think survivors would not have complained as much if keys were changed first. It would have been exactly the same.
"When they already have a reputation of being survivor sided, stuff like this really doesn't help"
They get those reputation only because every damn time something on the Killers side is nerfed, people are like "They are ALWAYS nerfing Killers". Like, if I see that someone complains about "Infinites being back" when Breakable Walls are a topic and claiming that the Devs are survivor-sided because of that, they completely ignore the point that those god loops (which were way stronger without a breakable Wall to break) were removed a few months ago.
"Also no offence. But you're reallly being delusional if you think survivors would not have complained as much if keys were changed first. It would have been exactly the same."
Nah, the backlash when something on the Survivor-Side is nerfed is way less. Probably because Survivors are used to it, or because basically all of the stuff nerfed was justified. Which is the same on the Killers side for most of the things, but especially for Moris. The game is improving for Killer all the time, which means that some stuff which was ok two years ago is not ok anymore.
2020 has been a really good year for Killers (and for the game in general), still whenever just one slight thing is nerfed, this Forum turns into a mess, because Killer players are acting as if their game got destroyed.
And still, I did not see an increase of Keys in my games. I have seen 1 or 2 Keys over the evening, which is the normal usage like before the Mori-Nerf. I had a game with 2 Keys in one game, but those turned out to be broken Keys which had no impact (except for losing me my Flashlight to Franklins..).
-
Its great that you opened the 34th thread about this topic. Very valuable.
They will change Keys. Moris were stronger than Keys, so its ok if they get changed first. And even if Keys would have been changed first, I am pretty sure that the Survivor Mains would not have opened so many threads. Its just the Killer Mains who complain that their broken stuff is rightfully gone while Key will take a little bit longer.
-
I mean, if you got stomped, quite clearly you should depip. The only thing that is a little bit annoying is that at Rank 1 you cannot gain anything from Pips, but will immediatly be back at Rank 2 after one bad game, even if you won the 1000 games before.
Basically every Killer can keep the Rank, if they play at least somewhat decent. From my experience, Legion is probably the easiest Killer to Rank up, you can gain Pips and Double-Pips quite easily and even after a bad game, you more often than not end up with a Blackpip.
-
To be fair, that can be normal latency paired with the very generous Chainsaw-Hitbox of Billy. Hit Validation will most likely fix the extreme cases, but it cannot remove Latency completely.
-
As long as you are not locked in an animation (aka Pallet Break), you should be fine by moving away from the Flashlight to avoid getting burned.
But it is an outdated mechanic that should be removed. It basically only affects Wraith, since nobody would really try to burn a Nurse (let alone that quite a bunch of people dont even know that you can burn her), so the Lightburn-Mechanic should be removed from those Killers.

Well that sucks. So, Hoarder now just increases chest spawns and notifies you of a survivor opening/looting them? That's pretty much Iron Maiden level of usefullness. Nice intel if you can capitalize on it, but veryyyyy niche.
Yeah, exactly. For me, it is not a big deal, since I would not have used Hoarder anyway. But I cannot imagine a real reason why they would nerf an already weak Perk, but I can totally imagine that it might have been caused problems with Plunderers Instinct. But thats just speculation.
-
@Onyx_Blue said:
Why run Franklin's when Hoarder now exists? If no one brings a key in, and you're the kind of player to despise that item, use Hoarder and pretty much guarentee no key will be found at all. Besides, most of the time Appraisal just recycles you with brown and yellow stuff lol
Hoarder does not reduce the Rarity of Items found in chests anymore. (I dont know why, if I would have to guess, it was not an intended change but maybe something which was not able to be fixed...I would not think of any reason why they should intended that)
@Topic:
I doubt that Franklins is worth the Perk Slot. I have never used it, I rather use a Perk which helps me to win. Franklins is just annoying, nothing more. I also doubt that anyone will really run Appraisal, Plunderers Instinct is better IMO and this is also not run very often.
-
And another Thread with made-up stories by the guy who complains about getting hit by a DS while slugging 4 people at 5 Gens.
My Survivor-Queues were the same as always. Including 1 Mori from a Killer who was the Prime Example why they have been nerfed, since he would have won with an old Mori while clearly not deserving to win.

Countering a single perk that a survivor might be using (also assuming that if they do have it, they didn’t use it after their first hook) doesn’t justify 7000 blood points IMO
I honestly dont care. Many stuff from the Survivor Bloodweb is not worth their price anymore. Every Iridescent Add On or Item (except for the Skeleton Key) is not worth 7k BPs either.
I guess Killers will survive if they still have to pay 7k BPs for an Ebony Mori.

If a Killer has a three gen, then yes, the Key does end games extremely early.
They should've been changed at the same time, if you change one before the other, then people will freak out.
You have quite an odd definition of "extremely early" when 4 out of 5 Gens were done at this point and the Killer got at least 1 Kill at this point.
If we compare it to a Mori, this can be a dead Survivor with 5 Gens, which means, the game is over and the Killer won and will just get some Bonus points from the remaining Survivors.
And well, people will freak out anyway. Even if they KNOW that Keys WILL get changed, because the DBD-Community is like that.

@Mattie_MayhemOG said:
Moris are now pointless because they were a way to have some success when as a killer you were not doing well. If you have already hooked all of the survivors twice you are doing fine and the Mori is not needed.
If thats the case you should rather learn how to do well instead of relying on the (former) most OP Offering in the game to carry you.
@Topic:
They are not even entirely pointless. You can still ignore stuff like DS (especially in Endgame) with a Mori. So having a Mori is still better than not having a Mori.
-
Keys dont end games extremely early, Survivors have to do the majority of their Objective to have multiple Survivors escape with a Key.
Not saying that Keys are weak by any means or should not be changed. And they will get changed, just at a later point.
-
The Sweaters will be released in the Shop afterwards. So you can basically get them with Codes now, but in the future, players will be able to get them by buying them (for Shards as well, except for Cheryls Sweater).
Regarding the Charms - not a big fan of the distribution-method, but last time I got one at the last day without much sweating... I guess the majority of people get it, if its fine for them to get them later instead of having them ASAP.

They. Could. Have. Waited. The fact they said they where going to work on both, only released one (on the survivors side of course), and did it during a HOTFIX instead of a full patch just comes off as...I don't even know really, its such a mix of so many bad and ill informed choices I can't describe it.
It would not matter if it would be a Hotfix or an actual Patch. They simply cannot do a PTB with changed Moris (or Keys), because people would use them before the Patch.
So if it would have been done during a Regular Patch (like new Chapter or Midchapter), it would have happened without any announcement as well. So it does not matter if it is a Hotfix or not. They had to do it this way, because otherwise you would have a game full or Moris for a while (or Keys, when they change them, which will probably happen instantly as well).

I am evaluating it for what it is..a change we waited months for just to make the worst change and keys are exactly like moris so I'm not sure how you'd think otherwise , this is just like pop and ds..difference is pop was changed without good reason
Keys are exactly like Moris...Thats a good joke. Keys require you to get to the Endgame to have multiple players escape. While Moris can just be used with 5 Gens left and it is a win for the Killer (unless they are super-bad).
Moris were far stronger than Keys. Not that Keys are weak by any means and they should and will be changed as well. But saying that Keys and Moris are exactly the same...oof.
-
Devs will nerf Keys in a future patch. They said during the Q&A where they talked about Mori and Key changes that the changes might not happen in the same Chapter.

They knew it before as well. Same like Killers new that Mori-Changes will come eventually. I have neither seen a raise in Keys nor in Moris since that Q&A. And its not because Moris are rare, because they arent.

Honestly just make them baseline now. At least common add-ons and offerings actually have an effect, even if it’s a small one. Moris are now just a cool animation at the end of a Survivor’s life.
You can still bypass DS after the second unhook. So you still get your free tunnel into a dead Survivor.
So they are not entirely useless. And tbh, I rather have a weak Offering than an Offering which is so OP. (And yes, they are still Iridescent Offerings, but eh... Odd Bulbs are also Iridescent, let alone that most Survivor-Stuff is useless in the Bloodwebs)

Siriously i can´t understand this decision and why this change is comming now and not earlier. What about Keys? Very often i was thinking the Devs are survivorsided and now , this .....
Mori offering shouldn´t cost longer 7000 BP .. change it from red to brown and 3000 BP.
It´s and useless offering now.....sad
That the change cam that late should be a good sign that they are not survivor-sided. They should have nerfed moris WAY earlier.
Regarding Keys - they will get changed. But Devs mentioned that Moris and Keys might not get changed in the same Patch.

Yeah but now Mori's are so SO much weaker than keys, hence why people tended to use Mori's more in lobbies with 2 keys or more
Keys will get changed as well. During the Q&A where the Devs answered this question, they also said that the Changes might not come in the same Patch.
But I doubt that it will take long for them to nerf Keys.
-
Its good that this Change comes out of nowhere. Otherwise the next days would be mori-spamming nightmares.
Regarding Keys - they will get changed as well. Someone will come up with it, but Devs said in one Livestream that Keys and Moris might not be changed during the same Patch.

I hope all of this delay means they are working hard on it and when it eventually comes back it isn't the shitshow it turned out to be, were killers with thousands of hours went against completely new survivors, and viceversa. I'm still waiting on it to learn how to play nurse without depiping my way back to rank 21.
Yes, same here. I went against Players who had their first game on a constant basis with Billy, despite winning every game with 12 Hooks. But with new Killers, I got the same Survivors like always.
IMO if they enable it again and it does not work again, they should just scrap it. IMO the Ranks are not that bad, they just need some Tweaks and they need to introduce a bigger Rank Reset again.

There are better tracking Perks to use. Or you can combine Nurses Calling with Sloppy Butcher to keep them occupied longer, aka raising your chances to see them with Nurses Calling.

Oblivious on whoever is effected isn’t any good to Wraith. You’re never going to attempt sneaking up to anyone uncloaked, and anyone Oblivious will still hear the wailing bell when uncloaking anyway. If you want a reliable tracking info perk that works great on Wraith, either stick with Bloodhound, or use Spies from the Shadows. Wraith doesn’t disturb crows while he’s cloaked, meaning they’ll always be there if survivors move past them within Spies active radius.
+ Oblivious Survivors are most likely more aware of their sorroundings so that a cloaked Wraith sneaking up might even be spotted easier.

Tbf though reporting players does next to nothing. You’re honestly better off just blocking them if you honestly don’t want to deal with them in another game, which is pretty unlikely to begin with, but it would still do more than reporting them
Blocking does not prevent players from showing up in your games.
@BigBrainMegMain said:
You cannot prove they're using the Map Offerings just for the shack pallet bugs.
Imagine reporting every single Twins player that uses Victor when someone is in a locker.
It's a bug, it'll be fixed.
^ this.
Not everyone knows that there is a Bug, especially since it affects Maps which are usually used when someone wants a normal game (aka no Indoor Maps or stuff like that) on a in general balanced Map.
-
Not really. When doing Hit and Run you want to spread damage across the Survivors and catch them later off-guard when they are healing/still injured. Deathbound just gives you the information that they healed, so you can injure them again, but thats it.

I think it seems bigger than it is due to all the open space. Aside from the tractor and three or four jungle gyms, there isn't much in the way of LoS blockers around the central building.
IMO it seemed bigger before the Rework, because so many safe Tiles were like two feet away from each other. Maps of similar size (like Temple of Purgation or Family Residence) never felt so big like old Ormond, because there was a better spacing between the Tiles (in a sense that you had to run further to reach the next Tile so because Ormond was so clustered, it seemed bigger).
But like I said, from the raw size, the Map is not that big. Maps like Ironworks or Gas Heaven are bigger for example.
-
Ormond is not really that big. It is like Number 8 of 17 different sizes, so right in the middle.
-
Well, obviously the best Auric Cell Pack is the one which is the most expensive, because you get more for your money.
If you want to buy a bunch of Cosmetics, you should check how much they cost and check which Auric Cell Pack(s) are the best for it e.g. if it is better to buy a large one or two smaller ones, if you have a bunch of Auric Cells leftover afterwards which you will most likely not use anytime soon.

Wait, really?! I was under the impression you could grab them?
If it's true, why is that a thing?
If Killers would be able to grab healthy Survivors, they would just wait until they vault a Window or Pallet to get a free Instadown.
-
99,99% sure that this was a grab. It was a Nancy, after all, probably got grabbed from a Totem she wanted to get for her Inner Strength.
-
Break one of the Pallets and you have an unsafe Loop. If you dont break any of those Pallets and run around them...Yeah, you deserve to lose.
-
I have seen Hills spawn on Autohaven-Maps, also on Gas Heaven. So they are not removed.
That being said, it would be nice to have a guaranteed Balanced Landing-Spot on every Map (outside of the Basement Stairs), it is already the weakest Exhaustion Perk since its Nerf (But hey - Haddonfield is alright now, eh?).
And I am as well disappointed that the big joke called Shelter Woods did not receive any Updates. But Autohaven Maps are now full of Deadzones and Ormond got reworked balance-wise as well. Damn, those Survivor-sided Devs.

My main problem Is breakable walls. I don't *personally* need bloodlust, since I'm rank 5 and know what I'm doing to break the wall or abandon chase.
My argument is about the principal. They made bloodlust a thing because of infinites and hard loops, and they talk of getting rid of bloodlust, while simultaneously creating more infinites that waste time
Breakable Walls are not Infinites. They are not even god loops, since you can break the wall. If someone is not breaking those Walls, they deserve to lose the game.
People are way too sensitive about the addition of breakable Walls, it is not like that any of those Maps became the new Haddonfield or even survivor-sided.
Meanwhile, huge Deadzones on some Maps - "Just get better".

Tell that to the killers who can't catch me without bloodlust apparently :)
If a killer is seriously bloodlusting by running in a circle I consider that a win. I just wasted time using an unsafe pallet that's awesome.
The majority of Killers in Red Ranks are not good. It is way too easy to rank up on both sides.
E.g. I should not be in Red Ranks as Killer, but even I managed to get there. I cannot have a better proof that the Ranking System is too easy.
-
@Speeddemonsaif said:
Killer main here and here are reasons why getting rid of bloodlust will completely ruin the game. 1. Survivors will be op every loop will be a damned infinite. 2. Most people will facecamp amd tunnel it's the only way they can afford to get people to get close. 3. The last reason is survivor wait times will take over 30 minutes-1 hour as nobody will play killer. (Also if they ever remove bloodlust i can see Play With Your Food become a meta perk to regain your lost bloodlust with pwyf stacks.)
Seems like you are one of the persons who need Bloodlust to actually get something done. Then its simply: git gud. Seriously, either there are Tiles where you should not bloodlust anyway and just break the Pallet (like Jungle Gyms, Long Walls, Shack) or there are Tiles where you dont need to break the Pallet immediatly and this is were Bloodlust becomes unfair since Tiles where you dont need to break the Pallet immediatly (aka unsafe Tiles) are completely fair for both sides, but become unfair once Bloodlust kicks in.
And if a Survivor runs you around on those Tiles, they are better than you.
@TwistedJoke65 said:

When do people need bloodlust, infinites. How are the devs making infinites? Breakable walls. They are talking about removing bloodlust when they are making infinites.
Long story short I agree with you.
Breakable Walls are just a weak argument to keep Bloodlust. If you keep a breakable Wall at a strong Loop and vault the Window the whole time instead of just breaking the Wall, you have bigger problems than the removal of Bloodlust.
-
Honestly, I dont think that this is a problem which should be solved, at least not until BHVR does not have any issues to solve anymore - so basically never.
Yes, it sucks if one guy gets the Hatch because of that, but it is happening really rare. And the person DCing will not get any BPs out of this game and will have a penalty. If they were in a SWF, they will all have to wait until the penalty expired. Losing out of BPs and gaining a penalty will also result in them not doing that this often.
And yeah, while it surely can be a problem, I consider it too minor. There are other things they should take care off.
-
A Hag I went against today was able to place Traps in the Basement. At least I assume that is the reason why one of my teammates got grabbed there and the other one downed there right after the Unhook (which was the third stack of Devour Hope, so she had to teleport at this point).
This was on Pale Rose.
Maybe it is an issue on the reworked maps?

Having your game news restricted to one news platform that most people avoid due to toxicity , nonsense and falsehood is a problem on your part not mine. The devs should put the news for the game on the platform that game is on, ie steam, xbox, switch, ps4/ps5. I am not going out of my way to log onto a garbage third party site for nothing.
Thank you for answering my question though.
The News is ingame. If you just click it away without reading it, dont complain that you dont get any information. (At least the Advent Calender is in it, the 300k BPs compensation not, but since you also did not know about teh Advent Calender..)
