  • Also did it on the first try. I used my regular Clown-Build (BBQ, Corrupt Intervention, Brutal Strength, STBFL) and the Add On to make Auras visible when invigorated and the Add On to increase the Duration.

The Auras were probably not that important, two extra Bottles would have been fine as well. I basically used the Bottles until I was sure I had my 4 Hits and then I played normally without sweating to use the yellow Bottles.

A survivor screaming despite hit rejection is working as intended

    https://www.twitch.tv/mclean_bhvr/clip/TenaciousConsiderateDurianFutureMan-VJkEkcgAxvhiHjRr

I would not say it is intended, more like, this is how it works right now, because this is how they build their system, long before something like this Pallet Hit Validation was a thing.

And IMO, they should remove the Feedback that the Killer got a Hit when it was rejected. It is good that Hits now get rejected if they were not meant to hit, but the Feedback is really confusing and can be frustrating.

Even tho, I think it is funny that it feels like Killers are complaining more about being "robbed" of their Pallet Hits than Survivors complained in the last 5 years about getting hit through Pallets...

  • So because some very strong Players manage to do this, something like this has to be implemented?

  • Killer became so easy, getting 30%-50% more BPs is not really justified anymore IMO.

  • Hits through Pallets were always a thing and are still a thing. If you drop the Pallet to late, you will get hit, this did not change at all.

But it was made more fair so that Killers with high Ping cannot get free Hits when they should not get them. This is checked by the Server.

However, if you are indeed to late and get hit, this was a hit that was most likely legit. (There will still be Hits which are pretty odd, but their number should be decreased)

  • Blight was the last strong Killer? Twins are also strong. Nemesis is also far from weak.

In fact, since Plague, every Killer (aside from Trickster) has been decent at least.

And nobody ever said that Trickster is OP. He is unhealthy in its current state, but not too strong. And they should have scrapped the changes to his Base Power and just keep the Main Event-Changes for now, and think about something else. Instead, they weakened his 1v4 making him reload more often, while still keeping him quite oppressive in the 1v1. (Even tho, I have to admit, I get the idea of removing around 1/4 of his knives if he needs 1/4 less of them to remove a Healthstate)

  • If it is not in the Patchnotes, you should assume it is a Bug.

  • I highly doubt that it is ping-related in a way that the person with the lower Ping is favored. The same was said about the Hit Validation, and I know for sure that it does not work this way. (I have 30-40 Ping and get hit by Players from Russia, who most likely have higher Ping due to their distance to the Servers)

So I dont think it is how it works with Pallet Validation (or whatever you wanna call it). It seems to base it on what the Survivor sees on their end (pure speculation on my side). I only got 1 Hit cancelled so far, and this was against a Survivor with around the same Ping as me. So they also had good Ping.

  • So you want to turn every Killer into a Bubba?

You're probably gonna get tunneled either way. If you use DS the killer knows that he can just tunnel you down again after your next unhook and he won't have to worry about the perk. DS is a pretty crappy perk in my opinion. It needs to work on both unhooks and I'd use it more.

Sure, but at least you might buy some time. But of course, against the strongest Killer, DS is a Joke. You get around 15 meters of distant (since 1,3 seconds of the 5 second stun are used for the animation), a Nurse, Spirit or Blight catch up in no-time.

DS should really get its Anti-Tunnel aspect buffed, however, Killers start to hyperventilent if they hear "DS-Buff", despite them not tunneling (at least I always see people claiming that they dont tunnel, despite seeing the opposite in the game).

  • You have to run DS. If the Killer noticed that you dont have it after your first Unhook, you will just get tunneled afterwards.

  • Seems like Killers really got used to be carried by Dedicated Servers and their shenanigans. I did not get many Pallet Hits in the first place when playing Killer, glad that I dont get the short end of the stick with both roles now, just because I have very good Ping.

  • I have only played against 3 Tricksters since the Patch - 2 DCed after one (!!) Gen was done and the last one gave up after two Gens were done. Last one on the RE-Map, but he had the Ricochet-Knives...

  • Only because he is from the 30s does not mean that he has to be racist. Not everyone living during this time was racist, not even in Germany which has quite some history when it comes to Racism during the 30s. At least this would be my suspicion why you bring that up, because the other points you mention dont link to racism in the slightest.

In general, while I think that racist Characters are fine as evil Characters, I dont really want to see playable Characters with a clear racist background in a game. The thought that some people might play a Character because they can identify with them being racist just makes me sick.

Kinda like what happened with Decisive.

    People heard "nerf" and overreacted.

Exactly, another example. You barely saw a DS shortly after the Nerf, now it is a frequent Perk again.

  • If it is not in the Patchnotes, you should assume it is a Bug.

Yes I am lol the server is supposed to choose hit or stun and award 1 outcome

This is not how it works. The Killer can still hit you AND you can get the Stun, this was always the case. The new Detection should just make it more fair on the Survivors Side.

Looking at the video, the Hit looks alright. You should not camp Pallets like this (especially not those horrible Pallets).

  • I doubt it, her pickrate dropped when they nerfed her most stupid Add Ons, but then players realized that she is still good.

Will be the same now, probably a Drop because of the Stridor-Change, but then players will pick her up again.

  • As long as players buy the Sets. Let alone, there are not many Sets released overall.

Some Forum Warriors complaining will not change that others are buying and enjoying Set-Cosmetics.

Why is it ok for some people to be forced to play against something they hate, but not others?

I see people all the time saying "you're not gonna like every match/killer/map, just deal with it and move on to the next game", so why does that not apply here?

Because entitled people only care for their own opinion.

For them, it is ok to be entitled and say that they wont play on the RPD-Map and that others are "forcing" them to play on it.

But it is the worst if someone else says that they dont like something.

Did nothing to his 1v1 from the PTB, people were complaining that 6 knives is too little which I somewhat agree. They tried to combat the unfun complaints by making him weaker in 1v4 which is the complete wrong change to do as you said.

Ok, I misunderstood you on this one. And yes, I agree, they nerfed the wrong area, they should have looked at his 1v1 instead of the 1v4.

  • I dont think it was the correct Nerf.

They should have scrapped everything except for the Main Event Changes and tried again in another Update. With that change, they just nerfed his 1v4, because he has to reload more often (which in theory is not that bad, since he also does need less Knives to remove a Healthstate).

But I dont think that this was the Nerf needed.

Maybe I will change my opinion, but those are my initial thoughts.

  • They did nothing to his 1v1? They reduced the number of knives from 8 to 6, this is not "nothing".

Even tho, they should have scrapped everything except for the Main Event Changes and went back to the drawing board, the changes they did on the PBT are just unhealthy.

Nerfing his 1v4 by making him reload often is not the correct Nerf.

  • It is in the Patchnotes:

    • The map offering for Raccoon City Police Department has been re-enabled.

  • Hardest thing to get are Survival Points. I only get like 8000 if I get a DS on the Killer and escape while being the Obsession. So pretty rare.

In general, Killers make 30%-50% more BPs than Survivors. So while getting 30k as Killer is not hard and happens frequently and 32k is actually possible, it is near impossible to get those amounts as Survivor.

  • The Basic BPs of the Match will be doubled. So if you would get 25k BPs normally, you get 50k BPs instead. If you use a Survivor Pudding/Escape Cake, 75k BPs... And each BPS/Cake gives 25k BPs (+those 5%) extra.

  • @EntitySpawn said:

It's not a bad map at all, both variants are okay as either side and I'd say it's one of the maps where a skillful player can use the tiles (like the big boat) better than the average

It is not really the fixed structures (however, the Pantry can be a pain to play for Killers, if the Survivor knows what they are doing), but the RNG.

You can have a complete Deadzone in the middle with exactly nothing. No Pallet, nothing. Maybe a Hill, but even that one is not guaranteed and only useful for Balanced Landing. And those are the worst games on Swamp for both sides IMO, especially on Grim Pantry. If there is a big deadzone in the middle, Survivors will always run to the Pantry and while not as bad as it used to be, as I said, it can be a pain to play as Killer. And you cannot really blame the Survivors there that they bee-line to the strong Structure if there is nothing else around.

Then there are really obscure Totem and Hatch Spawns, Hooks can also not spawn in one area (from what I know the only Map where you can actually have problems to hook Survivors, if you get unlucky).

I really hope they rework the Map soon and the graphical Update gives some Improvement. But, I would not mind if they just delete it "by accident". (In general, I would give up Ace just to remove this Chapter out of existence, it never happened, no Swamp, no Hag...)

    Good riddance.

I thought exactly the same when reading "customize Chase music". And we all know, when you can replace the Chase Music with your own Music, people will replace it with "nothing" to get rid of Chase Music.

And it should be no surprise that the Community, who makes their game look like ######### by adding Filters or stretched resolution will also use Mods which give an unfair Advantage. I guess there are Killers out there, who just replace every Survivor Model with pink figures which can be spot easily.

None of the Fog Whisperers are actually influential, they are just a Marketing Tool and not for Feedback. I would love someone like Tofu being more involved in the Development, however, this is not what Fog Whisperers are for.

EDIT: And I mean, just imagine the Drama when Fog Whisperer A is involved into the Development but Fog Whipserer B not...

  • The animation when a sabotaged Hook comes back. It is just the animation when the Hook gets sabotaged, but backwards and super-fast. It looks really bad, but I always have a good laugh when I see it.

  • Yeah, something for players who play the game for a long time would be nice. I really dont understand why there are exactly no Rewards for Devotion.

For Devotion, they could just let players choose a recolored Outfit - similar to the ones we got for the Anniversarys, those are just Recolors of the Base Skins. This for Devotion, everytime you reach a new Level of Devotion, you get one of those Outfits (you can choose which one you like). Even players who currently have a high Devotion Level would probably not get all Rewards at once (e.g. I am Devotion 29, there are 33 original Characters...)

It would just be something and making a Recolor of the Default-Outfit should be possible for every original Character.

Also, I really would like to see that the BP-Cap is increased for each Level of Devotion - 100k BPs/Devotion Level. And this would not cause big problems, with that, I would have a BP-Cap of 3,9 Million BPs, this is not even close to completing one Character on Release, if I decide to save that many BPs for new Characters.

Also getting something for playing Killers often or Survivors often would be nice. Some special cosmetics for getting X Kills or X escapes on a Character, this would also be a motivation for completionists AND maybe be a motivation to play less popular Characters (which would be a case mainly for Survivor). Even tho, I guess it could increase Lobbydodging by Killers if they see Characters who escaped often.

  • Thompsons House was disabled for a long time, but since it is enabled again, it feels like the probability to end up on Thompsons House is lower.

Like, after they enabled it, I still did not get the Map for over a week.

It is probably only a feeling, but maybe the chances to get on Thompsons House are lower due to the problem the Map caused back then.

  • It is part of a Shop-Cosmetic, Dolly Guitar.

  • I mean, yeah, those are my observations as well. I rarely see Keys.

The only time where Key Escapes spiked in my games was when the chances of getting them in chests were bugged.

Why are maps still poorly designed and still have infinites(rcpd *cough*)? Why do exhaustion perks exist to extend chases? play some killer you'll find out bloodlust 1 sometimes is needed to just end the pain.

What tiles are you possibly talking about that get massively affected by a 5% speed boost?

Stuff like Badham-Pallets outside of the Buildings. E.g. the Car Loops right next to the school with the one car and the rubbish/stones. Those are fair tiles which become unfair once Bloodlust kicks in.

  • Whispers is the best Tracking Perk in the game. However, it depends on the Killer, which one is better.

E.g. I run Lethal Pursuer on Nemesis, Myers, Oni, Plague and Legion, simply because those Killers benefit from finding Survivors ASAP (with the neat bonus for Legion that you can see how many Survivors are grouped up, so if 3 are spawning together, you dont end up with seeing the one lonely Survivor).

However, on Killers like Billy or Blight, I prefer Whispers, simply while Lethal Pursuer would allow me to get into a chase ASAP with those two Killers and their Mobility, Whispers basically does the same - sprinting over the Map with Billy until Whispers is on is only a bit slower than Lethal Pursuer AND you have it for the whole game.

    Here's the thing though:

There is no possible way for the killer to not kill the survivors while keeping generators from being completed.

Lets just say the killer is solely doing generator grabs on a survivor then dropping them.

There's no window to kick the generator so the survivor slowly slipping out will eventually complete the generator by themselves.

Also if the killer is downing them kicking then doing the pick up/drop then one of the two happens: Either the survivor bleeds out with the attack cooldown timer+ kick or they complete the generator as they fix generators 4 times faster then they can passively regress without ruin.

Mind you this post's game is with two survivors so even if the killer is doing this to stall one of them the other has free reign to complete one of the other generators.

    This Forum...

There is a Killer player who is legit taking the game hostage by not progressing it (by either hooking the Survivors or letting them just bleed out) or by letting the Survivors progress it and it still gets defended in this Forum.

Then, I want you to start explaining to me as to why we still have survivors doing it? Oh, I know... I got the answer for you! It's essentially a backdoor (which ignores certain game mechanics) to allow their teammate to escape, which normal they wouldn't.

    To address your other points.

Hours doesn't mean anything, sorry to break it to you. You can be the most luckiest person and never have to deal with it, or the most unlucky person in existence who has to put up with this daily. It doesn't matter where you stand in that spectrum, nothing, absolutely nothing, will justify DCing for the hatch.

That's what I'm trying to tell you, DCing for the hatch is bad because it encourages a negative behavior. However, here you are saying it's fine to DC for the hatch because it's rare. What? Are you serious?

I agree that BHVR have higher priorities than fixing this, I completely get that, but to say it's fine just because it's rare? C'mon... that's just outrageous.

Am I misinterpreting anything? Please tell me that I am because this doesn't sound right at all. I'm not trying to sound rude and my apologies if I do sound that way, but this is ridiculous, I'm not going to agree with DCing regardless of how rare and why it's used (with the exception of irl scenarios).

I am not really looking for arguments, really. I said, I will not change my opinion on that topic. The DC-Penalty is the way to punish those people, they cannot do it often because of that, otherwise they would give themselves (and the SWF-Mates who might benefit from their DC) an increasing Matchmaking-Penalty.

Let alone that this does NOT happen often. Like, really not often. Yes, hours dont mean anything, but can we for once not pretend that I am the absolute exception and that my experience ingame might be the norm?

I think if someone is saying that Survivors do this on a frequent basis in their games, they are either lying or legit forgetting the hundreds and thousands of games where Survivors dont DC for Hatch.

But we know how players in this game are - they have 100 games which are totally fine without any unfair things... Then there is ONE (in numbers: 1) game where a Survivor DCs to give another Survivor Hatch, so we HAVE to go to the Forums and complain about it (or, for Survivors: There is that one game where a Killer decides to slug the whole team and let them bleed out without any intention of hooking them)... Followed by 100 games without any unfair stuff.

As I said in previous posts, it would be nice if they would change it and it is indeed annoying and I dont think it is fine because it is rare. But they should invest their time in other things, the game has a lot of construction sites where the Devs can put work into. But I think it would be a waste of time to create a system which detects if someone DCs to give another person Hatch to prevent the Hatch from opening and starts EGC (and, on this note - what if it is legit Crash? Lets say there are two Survivors left and one of them really has a Crash - should the other Survivor be screwed by default? But this would be fine "because its rare", eh?)

  • @Steel_Eyed said:

It’s probably mostly to encourage each player to be involved in multiple parts of the game. Gens, healing, being chased. For killers it’s mostly about encouraging the use of the power.

Survivors: Sometimes you dont get the opportunity to do something. If the Killer is camping, you wont get Altruism-Points. If the Killer is tunneling one person, you get way less Boldness-Points. Let alone that Boldness and Objective are Categories which get maxed out fast, while you can end the game with 400 Survival-Points, because you snapped out of it 4 times.

Killers: Yes, encouraging to use the power, however, either this is more difficult (e.g. Pig, if you are not able to land the Dash) or simply inefficient - you should not be forced to use your power, just to get those points, while you max out in Chasing or Brutality basically immediatly.

  • @NMCKE said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2377933#Comment_2377933

Doesn't matter how rarely it happens, the matter of the fact is that DCing for the hatch is rewarding a negative behavior. Can we let that sink in? Survivors are actually being rewarded to DC; why is this okay again?

The fact that this is rare means they won't be DCing often, and their waiting penalty will be minimal of 5 minutes if they don't DC elsewhere.

Honestly, if someone DCs to open the hatch, the hatch shouldn't open at all and the EGC automatically begins. This way, you're not getting ANYTHING from DCing, like it should be.

The person who DCs is NOT rewarded.

And I will not change my opinion on that one - I have 6200 hours and it happened exactly 3 times (2 times as Survivor, 1 time as Killer) that a Survivor DCed to give another Survivor Hatch. But I guess I am the exception again and it happens every third game for everyone else, eh?

This is so rare, it is not worth to put any minute into this. BHVR has far bigger issues to solve with the game.

EDIT: Just to clarify it - it would be great if they would fix it. But it should be really low priority.

My initial thought, was that maybe it's to prevent over excessive farming?

I'm sure there's a more obvious reason that I'm missing here, though.

Not holding the game hostage. Once survivors are down they will die after 4 minutes.

Scummy to do but not holding the game hostage

Not if the Killer keeps to pick them up. The game will never end at this point.

  • I dont know why players even bring up strong Pallets as an argument to keep Bloodlust. If you dont kick a strong Pallet and bloodlust it, you deserve to lose the game.

Strong Pallets most likely dont have an impact on Bloodlust anyway, they need to be kicked ASAP.

Unsafe Pallets are those which get affected by Bloodlust and those are in general fair tiles (both players can outplay each other), but become unfair once Bloodlust 1 is reached.

But the Bloodlust-Weekend showed that many Killers are just really, really bad at this game and get run around unsafe Pallets...

  • Yes, I like to have something to do other than normal gameplay. Also, the extra BPs are always welcome.

The Rift is nice, I mostly dont need anything. But I use some Rift Outfits (like Onis Outfits from his Tome), which I would have bought anyway probably.

  • This is really a non-issue. Yes, it happens. Yes, it is annoying.

But it is not really worth to invest time into this, given how rarely it happens. And if a SWF is pulling that off, they will all be on the DC-Penalty (if it is enabled).

It will not happen on a regular basis that the same person will give up all their points they got this round AND increase their DC-Penalty, just to give someone Hatch.

While in a perfect world this would be fixed, IMO BHVR has other, more important issues to solve.

  • Killers complain that all Survivors run the same Perks.
