  • Thank you. I only watched the part where he used Stretched Resolution, this was already enough for me so I did not watch further.

But still I think that this is blown out of proportion by now. Nobody will ever know if someone is using stretched resolution or not, unless they are streaming. And I am quite sure that we will reach a point where Killers will start to blame Survivors for stretched resolution because they think it is the only way why they lost.

(Sure, it should be fixed, but I dont really give that much of a ######### about it, as I said, I will never know if someone is using stretched resotution... But there are also other things, like using Filters to make the game super-bright or just playing on low graphics to have an advantage... All this should not be possible, but it is whatever)

  • Ah, tru3 on his everlasting crusade against something which is just blown out of proportion now. Mainly thanks to him...

Out of interest, did he check it without stretched tho? Ghostfaces Reveal is so broken, would not be surprised if it would work the exact same without stratched resolution.

  • I mean, if I see that other Survivors have the same Skin, I will adapt and change mine as well. It does not really have to be a serious thing, it is just funny to go into the game with all the same Character. I mean, who has ever played against 4 Jeffs?

The problem is that it's too generous. It no longer registers the sidestep shuffle - because the system doesn't react fast enough, survivors see killers walking into pallets, while killers get stunned from (depending on how bad the survivors connection is) upwards of a metre away because they changed direction but the server didn't care. Which means that unless both killer and survivor have low ping, and I mean unrealistically low, killers are now faced with a lose-lose situation that honestly never existed for survivors (because if you were getting hit through stuns you could just throw the pallet early).

    @Zozzy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2476256#Comment_2476256

Yes... that demogorgon that clearly lunged to my side of the pallet and swiped through my body, only to teleport back to the other side and get stunned with no hit, was clearly me not messing up my timing and totally not the new safety pallet patch.

This happened already before the changed they validation method. It is not something new which just came up.

  • They did not mess up the timing. It only looks like that on your end, but the Server registered the Stun and not your hit, so you will get stunned without receiving the Hit.

  • Of course, SBMM will not change anything for the vast majority of players.

I hope that I dont see Twins tho.

  • At the moment, I will just buy him because I am a completionist. I did not enjoy his Kit at all during the PTB, maybe I will find him more fun on the Live Server when actually having Perks and getting more used to playing as him or against him.

It's more like I can't bring small game because I have to do gens. You can't rely on your team, at all. You need to make sure you participate in doing the objective, so hunting totems just increases your chances of dying by a mile.

This is another thing. I either play Solo or 2 man SWF, when I play in SWF with a friend, I tend to play less efficient. Besides the obvious talking to each other and just having a good time, I also know that at least one other Survivor is competent enough (often enough when I am hooked I see two Survivors wandering around and one Survivor on a Gen, you can guess who the guy on the Gen is...).

And when I play Solo, I am basically glued to Gens. No Chests, no Totems, just Gens. Because then I know that at least one person is doing Gens.

So I totally agree with your point. However, the chance that NOED will ever be reworked to something which is not tied to Totem Cleansing and maybe rewards Killers who did well instead of giving a huge Buff to the biggest Potatoes, is really, really small.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2476021#Comment_2476021

And since BHVR is adament on not buffing solos, we rather unfortunately must complain about NOED since it, alongside Ruin/Undying/Tinkerer, exemplifies the massive power disparity in this game between SWFs and solos.

    Exactly.

The Totem Counter which was asked for for years being tied to a Perk is a pretty big sign that they will never bring Solos closer to SWF. And I would say that Solo Survivors cannot afford to bring a mediocre Perk like Small Game, because they basically have to bring strong Perks, since Solo is the most miserable role.

  • My biggest problem is, if you wanted to use Silent Bell and All-Seeing before his Buff, you had to sacrifice mobility, because you were not able to equip Windstorm.

Or, if you wanted Windstorm, you had to choose to either use the Silent Bell or All-Seeing.

So if a Wraith player wanted to play with their strongest Add Ons, they had to sacrifice in at least one aspect - either mobility, or Stealth (Silent Bell) or Information (All-Seeing). But now they have Windstorm for free, so if they want to use their strongest Add Ons, they dont have to sacrifice anything.

It is basically pre-buff Wraith with 3 Add On-Slots. And if you ask if Killers should have 3 Add On-Slots, the answer would be a definite "No" from basically everyone who has some knowledge about the game and is not entirely biased.

And sadly, I have seen quite a bunch of Wraith who use All-Seeing and the Silent Bell and it gets really annoying to play against them with basically 3 strong Add Ons. It is not like Wraith is OP or anything with All-Seeing, but he would also not be weak if it gets nerfed or reworked entirely.

(Another topic would be that those Add Ons are especially powerful on Indoor Maps, which are already very good for Stealth Killers)

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2475074#Comment_2475074

You don't find escaping from a match one of the ways to win?

If you get sacrificed by a killer using NOED then you don't escape. How to you prevent the possibility of that from happening? You cleanse totems. So how did you come to the conclusion that it does nothing to help you escape?

As for what might or might not happen. You might not get all the generators done. Why should you try and repair them then since if you won't be escaping unless you use the hatch. Why should you open chests? They might not having anything useful in which case you just wasted time opening it. Then their are lockers and pallets. You don't know if they will be effective in helping you so why use them?

    Flawed logic.

The way to escape as Survivor:

    • Do 5 Generators
    • Open the Exit Gates

And thats it. IF the Killer has NOED and I die because of it, it is whatever. But if I run around and do Totems (or just look for them to memorize their locations) I do nothing to fulfill the conditions to escape. I just waste time, I am basically a second Killer at this point.

And yes, it might not be possible to get all Gens done. This can happen if the Killer applies pressure. However, it is still what has to be done to escape. It is more likely to not get all Gens done if Survivors waste their time doing Totems.

Regarding chests - yes, those are a waste of time. I never said anything else, since the Toolbox-Nerf it is only really beneficial to open Chests if you REALLY need a Medkit or are REALLY hoping for a Key. Flashlights are meh, Toolboxes are useless (even the best Toolbox cannot compensate the time wasted for searching the Chest).

I will ignore the Lockers and Pallets. This is just a bait at this point.

  • Every second you are searching for Dull Totems, you are not on a Gen. And searching and cleansing Dull Totems does exactly nothing to win the game for you. In fact, it can even lose you the game, because while you do nothing but searching for Totems, your team might be dying and not having any pressure at all, because at least one person is running around doing "nothing".

Just for the chance that the Killer might have NOED. It is wasted time if he does not have it. And also wasted time if you dont complete all Generators (most likely because players are not efficient aka working on Gens).

Let alone, if you cleanse 1 Totem, you did exactly nothing to prevent NOED. Even if you cleansed 4 Totems, you did not prevent NOED, it is only prevented when you know that 5 Totems are cleansed. (And if 4 Totems are cleansed, you can be sure that the last Totem is the most hidden thing in the game...)

  • Ruin and PGTW. In general, I dislike Slowdown-Perks. I like to win games with fast Chases, not by prolonging the game until the Survivors run out of Ressources.

Would probably win more games if I would rely on Slowdown, but eh.

  • Nah, they were a bit overnerfed IMO. Before they were too strong, but now I feel that they are just useless. They clutter the Bloodweb, which is my biggest annoyance with them.

And even if you bring a Commodious Toolbox with a BNP and extra charges (which is probably the strongest combination for Repair), it will not guarantee you a win at all, not even close, despite investing 16k BPs for it.

Outside of pinhead cause he will literally just come out with no MMR, Probably Spirit.

Pinhead will roughly have the SBMM-Rating of your other Killers. He will not start at 0, otherwise every Pinhead would start at 0, getting brand new Survivors who face nothing but Pinhead for a few days (and even worse - from experienced players). So it has to be a Killer where you play badly.

@Topic: Nurse, easily. Got Baby Survivors during the last SBMM-Test, I am horrible at Nurse. But I never really bothered to learn her, but I might do with SBMM.

  • Yes. Demo is one of the most fun Killers to play.

I thought the same thing but a lot of high-level killers slobber over it, apparently they find the first chase THAT important

Personally I'd rather use Whispers and have a perk that helps both early and end-game

The thing is, the early game is the hardest part of the game for the Killer. Getting into your first Chase ASAP can help a lot. I also dont run it on every Killer, but for some Killers, I think it really has good value:

Myers-->Struggles with early game and I know exactly where to go to get out of Tier 1 quickly.

Legion-->I know how many Survivors spawned at a Spawn Point so that I can go to the Spawn where the majority of them is (sometimes they spawn that 3 are together and 1 is alone, so I make sure that I go for the 3 together)

Plague-->IMO it is good if I have someone infected early on.

Oni-->Early game where he does not have his power is his weakest, a neat side effect is that Survivors tend to hide at the start when they hear my Terror Radius to not give me the first hit, but it is easy to get, since I know where they are.

Nemesis-->To get the Mutation Rate going ASAP

Blight-->I am in a Chase immediatly.

But in theory, you can run it on every Killer, but I also use Whispers on others. Like, on my Nurse, I cannot really replace any Perks, so I stick with Whispers over LP.

  • No. The Perk is strong enough to take up a Perk Slot IMO.

  • @BrokenSouI said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/277464/so-what-happens-to-afk-sbmm-killers

It's fine. If they refuse to fix maps and gen speeds to accomodate their new SBMM. A lot of killers will purposely lose several times/days in a row to get incompetent survivors. Including going AFK. Because no one wants sweat fests 24/7 at the highest level.

It is kinda cute that you think that so many Killers are at the highest Level.

Most of the Killers will face equal Survivors and just pretend that they lose against Tournament Squads.

  • Can only speak for myself, but for me Plague is really boring to play. If the Survivors dont cleanse you are an M1-Killer. Which is still not bad, you still have 4,6m/s Movement Speed and basically a Oneshot AND Anti-Stealth, but it is not really fun IMO.

They need to add an incentive to cleanse and nerf her Corrupt Purge to compensate for it, which would result in Survivors who are more likely to cleanse.

  • IMO someone who decides to run Ruin/Undying/Tinkerer on Blight (+Alchemist Ring to be extra spicy) or MDR on Spirit basically every game should not complain when they get strong Survivors.

In the end, you prepare for strong Survivors by using Builds like this. SBMM should save the Casual Survivors from Builds which just go over the top, unlike currently where you can obliterate a Team with said Blight-Build, just because those are a very casual SWF or some Solos.

And yes, some things really carry players.

My last experience was far from enjoyable. Most of my game survivor used map offering, key or BNP sometime all of this togheter. I dont consider myself to be a top killer i belive i may be above average but not in the top 20%. So in my opinion i should not have to face those thing on a regular basis specially when i main nemesis he is far from being a top tier killer. The reason i face strong team in my opinion is probably because i play after midnight so during the down time. The worst part is most of my game i got completly destroy i adapt i start using noed but even that gave me just 1 or 2 kill my hook count was still low no more then 5 hook.

The only good thing about the sbmm in my opinion will be solo survivor.

But all that is my experience i played more or less 40 killer game during the last test and only 20 game as a survivor max. And with the wall of text i just said you can see wich role i think will have a better time

Your Rating was probably boosted. You have to keep in mind that your Rating was already calculated with regular Matchmaking, so you got Survivors who were far weaker than you (because the average Survivor is not really good at the game). Once SBMM was on, you got teams which were on the Level of your Rating, but above your abilities.

If it turns on fulltime, it should even out at some points, since you will lose Rating Points again when you lose against Survivors who are better than you, until you end up at around the same skill leve like the Survivors (which would be above average).

I had the same with SBMM during the latest test, my Hillbilly-games were really sweaty. But on the other side, my Nurse games were far too easy, which shows that I am most likely below average with Nurse, which resulted in a low Rating, which paired me with really low-skilled Survivors and I was above average with Billy, which gave me stronger Survivors (talking about getting 4 Hooks before all Gens were done).

  • @botrax said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2473301#Comment_2473301

In the patch note they did if the best survivor dont have enough killer they will get paired with lesser skill killer

This goes the other way around as well.

But, this will be the common excuse for Killers who are not that good at the game. "Damn, the tournament squads did not find a game 5 times in a row, that is why I lost."

In general, it is quite funny how many people think that they will be in super high MMR-Ratings. And those are the same who claim that 3 Gens get done before they get one Hook on a constant basis.

Most players will have a fine experience with MMR.

  • Wasnt this already discussed in one of your other 20 Threads about Nemesis?

  • Purple All Seeing and probably the Silent Bell should be looked at.

Other than that, no changes needed.

  • @MarcoPoloYolo said:

You won't usually pip if you only get a 2k. Especially if you use insta-down perks. For survivor, I can't say.

But even with a 4K during a close game you will pip.

Close games mean that Killers get more Hooks and Survivors get more Unhooks. In general, both sides can do more stuff in close games. The fast games, like Oni who slugs all 4 Survivor with Infectious Fright or Survivors who complete all Gens in 5 minutes, those are games where nobody will pip.

  • Close Matches are those where it is more likely to pip or at least blackpip (instead of depipping) IMO. In a close match you can also pip as a Survivor when not escaping or pipping as a Killer with only 2 Kills if you got enough Hooks.

The fast matches are those where you will not pip.

  • Agreed. I was also really surprised that it stayed the same. And the only reason why there are not more complaints about it is because it is Clown.

Like, direct bottle hits are not really hard, especially if the Survivor is already affected by the Gas.

Way to generalize an entire group. While I am no as big as Otz or Tofu... I am a Twitch Partner and I think one look at my post history will prove your statement to be a broad generalization that is not accurate. I welcome SBMM. If you want to point out certain streamers - do that - do not group us all together.

This might be considered naming&shaming. And even if not, mentioning some specific streamers always results in some discussions.

And, since you mention Tofu - Tofu is actually for SBMM. He said on Stream that he will play Killer again when SBMM is active, because Killer was boring for him since it was too easy.

So not every Streamer wants to cancel SBMM to get easier games.

Just like it should be for the killer. All these points can be projected on the killer´s perspective. He is able to dodge the lobby because all of the reasons you named before. It´s just stupid.

Yes, and this is why I wrote that the Killer should not see names or profiles either.

But Items are alright. There are Killer Perks which are designed to counter Items (Franklins Demise and Lightborn, or even Sloppy Butcher against Medkits), the Killer should be able to prepare.

  • I am always for displaying this information post-game, but I feel that many Killers will lose their excuse for losing the game. But overall, yeah, it would be nice.

When I took statistics of my games (I stopped doing it, because in the end, I dont care that much and just want to play), I also tried to check if I went against SWFs, just out of interest.

    @Header said:

Just make the killers name visible

    problem solved

Nah. I dont think there should be more information going out for players to dodge Lobbies.

If the Killer is a Streamer, the Survivors might streamsnipe or simply dodge.

If the Killer has lots of hours, the Survivors might dodge.

If the Killer has a lot of -reps in the profile because of Salty Survivors, the Survivors might dodge.

If the Killer has lots of Screenshots of Spirit-plays on their profile, the Survivors might dodge, expecting a Spirit.

The goal should be less information before a game, not more information IMO. And certainly there should not be any reason for Survivors to start cherry-picking their games.

I agree in principle, but I'd lose the ability to message Survivors pre-game and ask them to remove the Key they are bringing.

Also, if names are hidden, can we put an indication of whether they are SWF or not? I don't want to uber sweat vs Solo's.

There is no point to encourage even further Dodging from Killers. Already bad enough that some Killers cherry-pick their games until they find the 4 Solos without Items.

  • No, will be activated with the upcoming Chapter which will be released on Tuesday.

Dead Hard is a Teachable Perk unique to David King. It can be unlocked for all other Characters from Level 35 onwards: Perk descriptions may vary from in-game descriptions for reasons explained here.Perks support Mouse-over functionality (desktop version only): hovering over the modifier words with your cursor will reveal the values behind them.On mobile browsers, the values are displayed in small text after the modifier words. Desktop users experiencing issues with the mouse-over may temporaril

  • @MigrantTheGreat said:

Hence the purpose of the perk is to avoid taking a hit. Using it for distance is essentially abusing the perk because your not using it as intended.

I'm not essentially taking away the dash, I'm simply saying, for how the strong perk is and awards survivor with another health state. Add a risk factor to it. The perk is the apiffiny of no risk, high reward.

When Injured, tap into your adrenaline bank and dash forward quickly to avoid damage.

    • Press the Active Ability button while running to dash forward.
    • Avoid any damage during the Dash.

Both times the Dash is mentioned first, which indicates it is the primary part of the effect.

So can we stop saying that the intended purpose is not to do the Dash?

  • It makes sense that the Killer can see the Items.

I agree on Names and Profiles. Those should be hidden, gameplay-wise there is 0 reason to see them before the Match.

  • @MigrantTheGreat said:

The problem with DH is when it's used to get to a pallet or window. Imo just lock survivors interactions for 2 seconds.

The intended purpose of the perk was to avoid taking a hit.

This would be the same like removing distance.

The intended purpose is to do a Dash. This is even in the Perks description. The secondary part is that you are invincible while doing the Dash.

  • I am looking forward to do Adepts. SBMM will not directly help with that, but getting reset all the way back each month will make it easier to get Double-Pips.

It’s bs that a killer can mind game you at shack successfully and you can just dead hard to the window. And y’all keep saying all this crap about how “you barley get any distance” or saying it doesn’t do much if you bait it yet in almost ever red rank killer game there’s at least 3 dead hards every game… I play both sides and I definitely think there are problematic killer perks but let’s not pretend dead hard ain’t a problem. Using it to gain distance to be in place of a blind for example is a circumstance that should not happen, they aren't dodging a hit, its just a free immunity distance boost

Who decides what the purpose is?

The purpose is what the Perk is supposed to do, and this is dashing and being immune while dashing.

Even if you say that only one thing should be possible, the Dash is the primary part of the Perk.

You basically want to kill the perk.

    ^ exactly.

Console demonstrates how a DH would look like if it would not gain any distance. Killer misses and can hit again basically instantly.

Killer's is a different story because half of their perks have ######### benefits and you have to stick to the strong ones unless you wanna get beat.

Survivors have plenty and yet everyone will still pick dead hard. I wonder what they will do if they nerf it

Then they will switch to Sprint Burst and Killers will complain about Sprint Burst. Which is actually stronger and makes every Deadzone safe, because you will reach a Pallet, since Sprint Burst actually provides Distance.

No, they are just running a Perk.

Or are Killers "abusing" BBQ? Are Killers "abusing" Ruin? It is stupid to use the word "abuse" when players are just having Perks in their loadout.

    Stupid mentality.

Besides, you did not get the problem when it only has the Invincibility - you gain nothing from it. The Killer misses a swing, afterwards, you are dead, because you are still in an area without defence.

Do you realize that half the people that complain it doesn't work, refuse to ever run a trial without it? and no it isn't you're immune to dmg, you didn't get that distance jump when it came out.

Even if it works, just the iframes do nothing, unless you are directly at a Pallet. Without Distance, DH would be useless, even if it would work perfectly.

Also, can we please stop to use the word "abuse" when players just play with Perks that are in the game? Nobody is doing anything illegal or bad when they play with Dead Hard...

  • You are too early, we start with the "Killer X is the worst Killer/an OP Killer"-Threads after the release. Please come back in a few days.

  • I think you dont understand what Skill Based Matchmaking means.

Of course you can go against 4 Red Ranks under Skill Based Matchmaking as well - with the difference that the Rank does not matter. So it would be irrelevant if you would play against 4 Red Ranks or 4 Brown Ranks, in theory, they should be around your Skill Level with that specific Killer.

  • B-Tier.

There are already strong Killers in the game which are not really fun to play, e.g. Hag. Nobody can say she is weak, she is one of the strongest Killers, yet, you dont see her, because she is not fun to play.
