Yes it's strong is unbeatable no it's not I've beaten many Blights that use this kind of build. Be unpredictable with your movement slide one way than slide to the other and it may throw that player off, also hug walls at loops, circle around some trees I've done it and it's happen to me as well when I play Blight.

Killers use hex perks bring in Counterforce you want to avoid pop how about bring in Repressed Alliance to block the gen when he comes back to pop it with the Tinker information.

Blight has the ring try using Overcome and Lucky Break combo it works pretty well most of the time.

If you beat Blights with this Build, those Blights were pretty bad. I win many games as Blight, because he is such a strong Killer, and I play without Add-Ons and only use Corrupt Intervention as Slowdown. If I would use this Build, I would win way more games, because it is just bonkers.

And how does Overcome (with or without Lucky Break) help against a Blight with Alchemist Ring? They get their Rushes back immediatly, you wont make distance with Overcome.

What do you mean it doesn't rob you. It takes priority over the Survivor's side despite the fact that he has crappy internet. Sounds like robbery to me.

Unless BHVR makes a server that actually prioritizes the player with actual good Internet you're never convincing me that these stuff aren't robbery.

It is server-sided. If it would be based on the Survivors Client you would never get a Hit through a Pallet.

  • @Myla said:

It still happens but the pallet validation just robs you for lols 90% of the time.

It does not rob you of anything. It was not meant to hit.

Before validation you got a hit which was not deserved.

  • You need to kill them with the Tombstone.

  • I would not say that it is true, but this is one reason why the game will never be completely balanced. Too many factors.

You cannot just buff a Perk (or Killers in general), because design failures like Nurse exist. Something might lift up Killers like Clown or Trapper, but as long as those are Buffs to all Killers or to a Perk, Nurse (and other strong Killers) can also utilize it.

This is why most balance changes involve Tweaks to the actual Killers (their power or Add-Ons) and not the whole Killer-Side.

Its otz take this with a grain of salt that guy know all the map like its his backyard and he play this game everyday 6h a day. Most of the player are average and using high mmr is worthless because you cant compare otz mmr to the top mmr of other player because its like comparing a challenger player in league of legend to a pro player its not the same and both are at the top of the game.

To be fair, if I read the Forums, many say the game should be balanced around the Top players. So, the argument that Otz is a very good player is not really valid, in fact, according to the logic of those who want to balance the game around the Top, every Killer should be as good as Otz, otherwise they will get worse results.

  • For Youtube, I guess it is more clickbait than anything. If you would write a title as "Power Struggle buffed"; nobody would really care, since the Perk is garbage and will probably remain garbage.

If you write "OMG Power Struggle Reworked!!" with some arrows and red circles on the thumbnail, more potential viewers, since they want to know what the Rework is.

I mean yeah when one side gets nerfed the other shouldn't get a nerf neither just for that reason

But Ds and Pop are not equivalent in my opinion

They are not. And comparing them based on the timer was nonsense. But players still did so.

  • They got compared when PGTW was nerfed (Timer reduced from 60 seconds to 45 seconds), simply because both have a timer.

This was the sole reason. And the wrong mentality of "When one side gets nerfed, the other side should get a Nerf as well".

  • How long did you think about an idea which is basically a built-in old Mori?

  • Because around 3 people play Plague. So why create a Plague-Skin when she is a rarely played Killer, when you can bring a Skin for a more popular Killer, which will generate more money?

And personally, I am never really excited for Plague-Skins. To me they look mostly the same, it is just Plague. Her base design is really good, but the Cosmetics dont really offer much variety IMO.

  • Honestly, there is 0 point in caring about SBMM. Because it is not skill-based. You can lose SBMM-Rating despite being the better player.

    Two examples:

Killer-->You play Billy, get 8 Hooks, every Survivor escapes. Another Killer plays Bubba, camps the first person they find and gets a second Kill with NOED, 2 Hooks total.

Who played better? Obviously the Billy-player. Who gets more SBMM-Rating? The Bubba.

Survivor-->Today I ran around a Plague for 5 Gens on Coal Tower. I got tunneled after every Unhook and was the only person who died. Does that mean that I was the worst Survivor on my team? no, not at all. But SBMM thinks that I am worse than my teammates, since I died and they escaped.

And you are not a bad Survivor if a Baby Meg used every Pallet on the Map in her first Chase and you dont have anything to work with. Because even the best Survivors cannot play well without Ressources.

This just shows how flawed the system is. And with a system this flawed, can you even say that you are paired correctly or incorrectly? Whenever I play, I often think that I am paired incorrectly, because either the Killer is a lot weaker than me or the other Survivors - or both. But maybe I am even paired with the correct rating, because it does not matter how well I did over the matches, as long as I die at the Endgame (completely irrelevant how I died), I will lose MMR.

Meanwhile, as Killer I can get 4 Baby Survivors, followed by a strong group which lets me end with 2 Hooks. And I doubt that one 4K game shoots me up into an SBMM-Rating which results in a match of me only getting 2 Hooks.

  • I think this happens when all Servers in one Region are full. So you get connected to a different Server.

I also had this multiple times already, with all players coming from Europe.

  • Good Joke.

The Perk might be used by players who want to be annoying. But it wont be Meta.

God, I hated the Wake Up bug. People would be like, "No no, I always used Wake Up."

Back on topic, I'm torn on that particular example. On the one hand, it did make Survivors objectively a ton stronger. However, it was a bug and wasn't intentional. I'm assuming you are taking this to "both DH and Nurse were not intended to work this way, therefore, this bugfix is reverting them back to how they should be", right?

The difference to me is that Nurse (and DH) are getting fixed, as they should. However, both of those things were perfectly strong already and weren't suffering that badly because of it. They didn't need the help, unlike a lot of other bugged Killers and weak perks. So, maybe it's more an issue of priorities.

Yeah, but also the stronger Perks or the strongest Killer deserve to be functional as they should be. If there would be a Bug which allows Clown to move at 150% Movement Speed when out of Bottles, it would be fixed, even if it would "nerf" one of the weakest Killers.

And while I agree that Clown should have received more changes, this does not change my mind on Bugfixes not being Buffs.

And when it comes to priorities... I guess Nurse-Mains would disagree that they should wait for Nurse-Bugfixes until the Devs have buffed the weaker Killers.

Things that result in the strength of the character or item in question going up are buffs to me.

To back up that belief, here is the Wikipedia entry that gives a definition.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/2JQNNM4EX36R/screenshot-20220105-183051-samsung-internet-7e2.jpg

So, according to you, the Wake Up-Bug from a few years ago (where it speed up every action and not only opening gates) would have been a Buff which got nerfed in a later Patch?

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2734292#Comment_2734292

    It's the sentiment behind it.

Instead of nerfing Pinky Finger and then buffing his awful add-ons (most of them) they nerfed his OTHER best add-on to boot.

Will Nurse become stronger from this change?

    She will.

But Bugfixes are still no Buffs.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2734132#Comment_2734132

    No.

The fact of the matter is that Clown got objectively weaker this patch. Twins got effectively weaker. Nemesis got effectively weaker.

You know who didn't need buffs? Nurse. The one Killer they buffed.

Am I glad Nurse is fixed? Sure, it's great she's working properly. Does that mean she needed to get stronger than she was already? No. Does that justify nerfing astronomically weaker Killers? No. Does it excuse not addressing CoH? No.

Clown being weaker due to a Nerf to Pinky Finger is true, however, Pinky Finger deserves the Nerf. Clown itself still needs some love though, ideally, both should have happened at the same time. But nerfing Pinky Finger is completely justified, it is a very dumb Add-On and there is 0 skill involved, since he does not slow down after Bottle Throws. Super easy to get direct Hits.

And fixes are still no Buffs. Fixing Bugs with Nurse does indeed help her, but those are not Buffs.

    You dont have to.

PTBs are not for testing anyway IMO. They are for creating Hype. But without any meaningful content in form of new things or bigger Reworks (mainly for Powers), there is not really much to do.

So just dont download it, I will also not download the PTB this time.

Yeah, people on here are being a bit dramatic. Lot of good changes in here.

Exactly. I was pleasantly surprised to see the Nurse-Fixes. Because it took them so long for DH to be working with Dedicated Servers, I thought a whole Killer-Power might take way longer. My Nurse-games are mostly bugfree, I only sometimes have the Bug that I cannot use my M1 after a Blink.

But from reading here I know that others have more severe Bugs with here and if those get fixed, this is great.

Why Elden Ring, out of curiosity? I admittedly know little about the game, so it seems curious that multiple streamers are dropping (temporary or otherwise) DbD for the same game from a different genre altogether.

Because it is a From Software-Game. I will also play a lot of Elden Ring when it is released. Games from From Software are usually challenging and interesting. They are not as hard as people sometimes claim they are, but challenging enough to spend hundreds of hours playing them.

Games like Dark Souls also are games which are worth to replay, since you can try out different builds and the challenge is still there, even if you have completed the game multiple times.

Players expecting that Elden Ring will be a good game because so far, From Software did not really disappoint since Demons Souls.

(In general, if you have never played Dark Souls, Bloodborne (if you own a PS4) or Demons Souls (if you own a PS3 or PS5 for the Remake), give it a go)

  • Why the sarcasm? Is it that unbelievable that you can play Blight without Add-Ons? He is one of my go-to Killers for farming BPs, because I have 0 investment when playing him (because I dont use Add-Ons). Same with Nurse.

And obviously I dont go against Comp-Teams. Like 99,99% of the playerbase.

  • I am simply surprised at this point. This is another Chapter which features a change to Blight or his Add-Ons and AGAIN Alchemists Ring is not nerfed.

This Add-On is the one that should be clear. And every player who is not biased knows that Alchemists Ring is too strong.

Compound 33 and the Speed Add-Ons can be nerfed as well IMO. Even if those 4 Add-Ons would be nerfed or reworked, Blight would still be one of the strongest Killers.

EDIT: And I am pretty sure that nobody will touch Adrenaline Vile after the Buff anyway. It is still a really terrible Add-On.

  • "Anyone who has ever played The Cannibal by the release of the Mid-Chapter update will be awarded 6,000 Iridescent Shards to compensate for their removal."

This means: If you have ever played Bubba until the Mid-Chapter will be released (if PTB starts at the 5th, probably end of January), you will receive the 6k Shards.

    @Erasox said:

Because dead hard on killer sight give you false information..Hitting but get denied because of server hit validation and the general issue with the desync..and people can use macro for auto dh..you cant predict that because even you are really really close to them they hit the button and get a validated server dh non-hit. thats for many people so frustrating.

Cheating for Auto-DH is not a problem with the Perk itself, it is a problem with Cheating.

The false information are also not really a problem, because the Hit was not meant to it. If they would remove those false information, you would still not get a hit, just not the false information. And I even doubt that it will ever be possible to remove those information, since the Devs want to have instant feedback.

The only thing which is not correct with DH currently is that it eats some Killer Powers. And this has been acknowledged and apparently it is being worked on.

For the function itself - for someone who was around before Dedicated Servers, the Perk functions as it should be (minus the things I mentioned above). But Killers got used to getting many hits they should not have gotten because the Survivor was exhausted on the ground.

  • @Veinslay said:

Lol no. Just future solo survivor buffs and killer nerfs. Devs won't be satisfied with the game until there's a 4 escape average

And you ignore the Buffs for Killers?

    @Topic:

Just because I am curious - why do people bring up DH? I can understand Circle of Healing, since this would be the timeframe for changes of things from the Pinhead-Chapter and the Mikaela-Chapter. But DH is thrown in randomly why this Perk should receive change in exactly this one Midchapter.

Nah, you dont. Really, there is a huge difference between having a mixed opinion or not really caring about it and actually comparing Flashlights to Racism.

  • Nobody knows yet. But saying that only Survivors will be able to participate in Betas is wrong. But I guess it is easier to find QoL-Improvements for Survivors.

I doubt that Survivors will gain more BPs than Killers anyway, Killers get 30-50% more BPs in games and also have it easier to gain Double BPs. So its not like Survivor BP-gain will be anything else than miserable.

    @MeneLaw said:

If tomarrow in ptb Bon coh is not nerfed im done

The Pig Add-Ons got buffed. The numbers being lower after the Patch does not mean that those were Nerfs.

  • Personally, I dont think it was needed. The only reason why one of the faces was black was because one of the four original Survivors was black. If there would have been 4 white people, he would have had 4 white faces.

I also dont think that this will change anything on the topic of harassment. If a Killers want to tunnel Survivors who use certain characters with a different skin color or want to actively harrass streamers who are People of Color, they can and will still do it, just not with a Smartface anymore. The sad thing is, you cannot reliable ban people for it, because as long as they dont admit it, you cannot really prove why they camped someone (as Bubba or any other Killer).

But if it has the chance to decrease harrassment, it is fine to remove the face. For me it does not matter, I was using the P3 since ages and so I get some juicy shards.

(On the topic of collecting faces - this was fun, but I dont consider this a good option anymore, simply because you cannot switch Killers in the Lobby anymore. So while this was a cool concept, I doubt that newer players would be able to collect all faces unless they play Bubba over a very long period of time)

It'll be problematic, you know how fast you gain a wiggle progress combined it with unbreakable and flip flop? You will either need to pick up instantly without looking or slug the downed survivor under a pallet.

Honestly, this discussion is so December 2020, it is just boring. Once again someone overreacts because of a Perk Buff. Classical DBD-Forum.

It is exactly the same stuff when the Perk got released - Oh no, SWFs will play builds around it and you cannot pick up Survivors anymore. And it will not happen.

And you think this change for this awfully designed perk is good? It needs a rework, not a buff.

I mean, it should be a useful Perk. It wont be after the Buff, so the Buff is pointless. But not problematic at all.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2729182#Comment_2729182

You know how boosted this perk is with SWF? This perk was horrible, because it was situational and useful with specific build. Instead of making it even more boosted, they should completely rework this perk to be also useful for solo players and be counterable by a killers.

Ah yes, just throw in "SWF" to pretend that a bad Perk is good.

All the complaints are about SWFs stacking Meta-Perks, but nope, SWFs stacking Power Struggle is the big deal. The Perk was bad and it will probably not used much after the Buff.

  • The last time I watched a TTV-player I went against, they did not talk a single thing about the game they were playing. They were talking about Genshin Impact the whole time with another player (3 man SWF) and a viewer.

Regarding the Drivers, most options will probably dont matter to me, since I just play the games as they come. I never was using any filters so far or anything else for nVidia.

Didn't expect the cringe/non-discussion replies to start so early.

2022 is truly a blessed year.

Vids of Streamers are only permitted if they fit a certain narrative.

You know, a video of a Streamer who loses one (in numbers: 1) game is allowed, because it shows how survivor-sided this game is.

Same streamer getting 100 4Ks in a role is not relevant, since they are doing it for a living.

I will watch the video later. If the thread is still open, I will give my opinion to it.

I use a Radeon RX 470. With reduced settings, I play on usually triple figure FPS, but the game feels like crap. It never used to be like this - only over the last several months has performance dropped. My FPS is still fine, but the game feels stuttery and laggy quite often despite it.

That being said, the game just isn't well optimised in general, so honestly I don't think it would make a huge difference AMD Radeon or not. I know people running on RTX 3070s etc who experience stuttering too. It's just DBD.

    Thank you!

Yeah, this is what I mean. I have read a Thread from a few years ago where someone said they had problems with the game when using a AMD-GPU. Also, when browsing the Forums, I saw people complaining about stuttering with AMDs, but I did not check about nVidia-GPUs, probably the same amount...

    @Bwsted said:

I'm using a Fury X, which is not exactly a new model.

On low settings, I can run 120 fps. There are some maps that are just badly optimized no matter what and even monster GPUs of any brands will have fluctuating frames on those.

Rather than just performance, I suggest you have a look at drivers as well. Generally speaking, Radeon is a bit lacking in that department and Nvidia offers control panels with much better configuration options.

    Thank you!

I am currently using a 1050 TI, which is okish for DBD. Medium with 60 FPS is possible, rarely I get some FPS-Drops (when near a completed Generator for example). This GPU is a replacement, because my 1070 TI had an electrical short circuit. So I only know nVidia-GPUs and the 1050 TI is not really good, some games I used to play are not really possible anymore.

I have seen videos of people testing AMD-GPUs and those were alright, but I dont really trust BHVR and their optimization.

I wish we had old ranking system (keep the look of the new grades cause they look good). Same reset every 13th and make it harder to pip on survivor end.

    Ranks 1-15 reset to 16.

    Ranks 16-20 reset to 20.

It should be harder for both sides. IMO you gain Pips faster as Killer compared to Survivor, because as Killer, you can have a bad game and still get a blackpip. As Survivor, it is most likely a Depip.

Also, it is quite hard to double-pip as Survivor, since it involves actually surviving. Double-Pips as Killer are easier as well.

    @Topic:

First of all, I dont think MMR will go at any point. BHVR is stubborn, they wont admit mistakes.

Second, the old Ranking System was ######### as well. It was bad.

But, MMR is also not good at all and it does not really make sense to have MMR in a casual game like DBD. Especially, because it is such a simple formula. And it cannot be complicated, because this is impossible. You would have to calculate every Perk, every Add On used and even the Map itself to have a decent Rating. This is not possible.

If they want to keep MMR, they should at least change it to Hooks and Team Escapes. The one guy who died should not lose MMR if 3 others escaped. And the Killer should not increase their MMR, if they camp in the Endgame and get a 2K with NOED, when they did not get any Hook before.

OR they revert it to the old ranking system, but change a bit:

    • Make it harder to rank up on both sides
    • Keep the Reward for reaching Rank 1
    • Bigger Rank Reset - maybe not back to Ash 4/Rank 20, but the old Rank Reset which set back from Rank 1 to Rank 10 (or something like that) was alright. The games you had for the first 2-3 weeks each month after Rank Reset were good. And I even think that the Matchmaking back then was more skillbased at some point, simply because Killers who are good will rank up fast and Survivors who are good will also rank up fast, so at some point (at least during the first week) those were paired with each other.

Ye true thought, I personally just love the idea of having a killer who can vault pallets and windows, I really enjoyed old legion for that even though if they where not strong. Yes it may not require alot of skill but we have plenty of other killers who have the exact same issue so ye.

I also like vaulting Pallets and Windows as Legion, in general, I like to play Legion, even tho you have to have the mindset that you will not win most of the games with them.

But I just think that they are beyond fixing if they keep that in the game. However, if I am not mistaken, the next Midchapter Patch should give some love to Legion (and Ghostface), so maybe BHVR can prove me wrong and make them a decent Killer again without being too oppressive in the 1v1.

  • @CluelessWanderer said:

I've been starting to wonder if the MMR is just turned off or something. It's been SO bad lately. And as you said- I've noticed being teamed with absolute potato survivors but the Killers are very competent, resulting in a blood bath. It's just awful.

It is not only the case that you have Potato-Teammates but get paired against competent Killers. Sometimes every player except for you seems to be new to the game.

    To give two examples:

A few days ago I went against a Billy. Playing in a 2 man-SWF, we both are playing the game for a long time (4k hours+ and almost 7k hours). We were paired with two Survivors who seemed to be quite new. The Billy also did not have all Perks at Tier 3 and was really not good, but had some decent Perks (Ruin, Tinkerer and Bamboozle). It was a 2v1 with 5 Gens to go and we managed to do 4 1/2 Gens, but lost in the end. The result:

My friend and myself will lose MMR. Probably not a small amount. And the Billy will gain a lot of MMR. Result? We will get more Potato Teammates and the Billy, who was at least new to this Killer, will face stronger opponents and probably be crushed a few games. Yay.

    Another example, happened yesterday:

We were paired with two Survivors, a P1-Meg and a Claudette who was the most basic Claudette you could imagine. No hours visible, but they were new... They had only 3 Perks, and they were either their character Perks or general Perks. Going against a Wraith, who got two Kills due to NOED in the end, but did not manage to do that much. My friend died on Hook, the Claudette died aswell, since she fell down to NOED.

Result? My friend will lose MMR. Despite outplaying the Wraith at every Chase, except for the one where he unhooked me, after I went down while saving the Meg.

Not saying that we are the most amazing Survivors out there, but if you get paired with Potatoes, you might have a higher chance of dying, which lowers your MMR, which gives you weaker teammates, etc... And even Killers who are not experienced can win games which are a 2v1, simply because they have enough time to just Bloodlust every Loop.

And as Killer, I can get a group of Baby Survivors who get demolished, followed by strong Survivors, difference between night and day. And I highly doubt that winning one game against Newbies will skyrocket me to strong Survivors and vice-versa.

Well depends, I would also say that Trickster has just the same problems as old legion has, if not even worse. Half of the loops are basicly not existent against him and the other half are busted.

Yeah, but BHVR creating another Killer with roughly the same formula does not mean that they should revert Legion to this as well. Trickster also is not the pinnacle of gamedesign and IMO it does not fit DBD that there is a Killer in the game who can throw a Gajillion Projectiles and gets you downed guaranteed if there is no cover and struggles if there is cover.

  • @BenZ0 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2724844#Comment_2724844

What does it have to do with pallet and window vaulting? Its more like the issue that legion cannot down someone in their power. Giving Legion back the ability to down with the ability with other restrictions would make legion way better again.

This would make them even worse. If you want to keep the vaulting AND give them the ability to down with Frenzy again AND put other restrictions on them to "balance" this out, you have the same hot mess you had when Legion was released. Exploiting via Moonwalking was not the only reason why Legion was really bad designed.

  • I would not say so. If I think about original Legion, it did not matter at all how skilled the Survivor or Killer were, the Survivor would have gone down eventually. Legion was the Killer who guarantees a down while losing the game because it took ages.

And even if they give Legion some love, I think the only thing they will do is make them a bit faster and maybe reduce the fatigue. Because as long as Legion can vault Windows and Pallets, they will not be a strong Killer.

They're scared to touch them, because non-skilled survivors would complain about them.

Or, because Legion is a big design failure and can never be a strong Killer with their current Power.

  • Significant change. You cannot tinker with Movement Speed too much. NOED makes some Loops laughable because of the 4% Movement Speed increase. 3% is almost as much, so you probably would have to rebalance all Loops as well.

  • I mean, this is a pretty lame video.

First one was a Survivor lagging. That is unlucky, but it is what it is.

Second is 3 Survivors on a Gen and probably at least 2 BNPs. But you did not show the Loadouts afterwards. Yes, this is a fast first Gen, but the first Gen(s) dont really matter and another Gen will not be completed that fast, since they used their BNPs.

Third is you chasing a Survivor and a Gen got done. Nothing special here.

Fourth was you missing a Hit... But when it comes to predropping and holding W - yes, this is a thing. However, you can thank the Devs for that, by creating more and more Anti-Loop Killers, Survivors adapted to it. And holding W works against M1-Killers which can actually be looped as well...

  • Favourite things: The RE-Chapter, because I really like to play Nemesis. Also I like Claire and I somewhat like RPD. Also, Boons, I dont run them, but finally Survivors get a Perk which can change the Meta a bit. (Even tho the mechanic needs some finetuning, but I hope the Perks stay useful)

Least Favourite things: MMR - I was positive about it for a long time, but at this point, I have the feeling that no Matchmaking is active. I get Baby Survivors followed by strong Survivors without any pattern, same for Killers. After going against a stretched res-Blight with strong Add Ons and 3 Slowdown-Perks, I go against a Huntress who DCs after two Gens, because she did not hit a single Hatchet...

And, probably even more - the UI and the animations. Still looks worse than before and the atrocity which was the first version really lets me question what someone has to do, to become Lead in the UI-Department, when it can look so bad. And it still does look worse than before IMO. Same goes for some animations, but I have at least some hope that those will be changed and just take some time. (Especially this "I am injured and ######### in my pants"-running animation...)

  • It is pretty random. The last time I encountered this Bug was months ago, after that, all of the Survivors I faced had sound on the ground.
