Wont prevent Killers from mass-opening Threads to nerf every Survivor-Perk in existence. :]

Yeah, it sounds like there was a HUGE skill curve to that. Wish they would promote gameplay like this instead of interactive gameplay.
Not really a Skill Curve. Nothing in DBD really takes skill.
But it was either a complete waste of time for the Survivor(s) or really annoying for the Killer. There was nothing between.
It was good that they got rid of it.

I hope they dont touch shelter woods. That map is payback for the people who dare offer up a Last Mask
Shelter Woods does not belong to Red Forest...
It is still a sad excuse of a map and should receive some changes at some point.

IMO being Top 5 or not was always kind of a debate. The first three are pretty much set with Nurse, Spirit and Blight.
4 and 5 can be done by multiple Killers, including Oni.
-
Maybe you are not as good as you think you are?
I mean, you pulled every strawman in your post. Predropping, holding W, SWF, BNP, "Genrush"...
Do you have a video of your gameplay? Hard to give actual advice (if you even seek any and it is not only a rant) without anything to look at.

The best Gen Regression-Perk as Basekit.
Yikes.

I think what it shows is that people don't really understand the concept of the Q&A lmao.
If the answer to the question they asked is "soon" or "we have no plans currently" then what else are BHVR supposed to say?
Of course, it doesn't help that so many of the questions were things we already know the answer for. Questions about Switch cross progression, for example- there's no point asking/upvoting that because we know what the answer is going to be anyway.
This is also a thing.
If the Devs cannot talk about something, there are two options: Saying that they cannot talk about it or soon™ or not answering the Question at all. They cannot win with that one, both times players would be upset.
-
Yeah. Maybe not do any Q&As at all since the DBD-Community is ######### and does not appreciate it anyway.
-
Nobody knows. Gameplay-wise there is 0 reason why the Killer should be able to see names.
I have been targeted by one small Killer Main Twitch-Streamer at some point. This was ages ago (you were able to switch Killers in Lobby back then), but everytime I had him as Killer, he would switch to Nurse and mori me. Or one time he facecamped me with Billy (ending up on 5k points for him...).
Not that I mind it too much, but his reasoning was that apparently I said something toxic to him in his stream. So either he made this one up or there was some misunderstanding, since I dont go into any streams to vent or anything.
But yeah, targeting specific players happens. But I guess it is harder now due to Dedicated Servers (I did not go against said Twitch-Streamer once since Dedicated Servers are live).
-
At this point, I sometimes think that it turns off completely. This was a match which happened some days ago:
This was before Grade Reset and you can see that the other two Survivors were Ash 4, meaning they did not play much during that month. But also, look at the Perks. I dont know who was the Survivor at the bottom anymore, but the one above was a David.
And both of them were really crouching around A LOT. The Killer on the other hand was decent. The match overall was a 4K, because it was basically a 2v1 between my SWF-Mate, myself and the Killer.
The thing is, I dont know if our MMR is high or not. Because if you die often, your MMR becomes lower, regardless of what you did before. And when you get more of those teammates, simply because they are actually at your MMR, you might drop even more.
But MMR or not, it should NEVER be possible that I (almost 7000 hours) face or play with players who have way below 100 hours. This just does not make sense.
I dont have screenshots, but I also have the same experience as Killer sometimes - good team, followed by 4 new players. Or, when playing Survivor going against Killers, suddenly there is a Killer player with 40 hours.
-
You get a safe Unhook a few seconds after the Unhook. If the Survivor goes down during this time, it was an unsafe Unhook.
Even with BT, you should avoid risky Unhooks...Especially if you are doing those just for some WGLF-Stacks.
-
I wont go for an option, I might have encountered around 10 Cheaters so far. But I would not call it many over almost 7000 hours.

And as a killer you know that if you will fall for DH, which will prolong a chase to next tile, regarding LT, safe/god pallet it can prolong chase for a possible 1 gen completion.
There are people who can loop blight and there are those who cant. Sure lets nerf blight, but then lets nerf DH and iFrames aswell
Nice whataboutism. But at least it shows that you dont have an actual argument against my point.

No. It promotes you to do mind games, to play roullete to miss judge flick side. To use sharp turns to change its bumps logic. To not only use W throw pallet, clip in wall and tbag
Yeah, and if you are doing this and you dont manage to dodge all 4 Lethal Rushes, you have 0 Reward, regardless if you get hit by the first Lethal Rush or the 4th.
If you manage to dodge 3 Lethal Rushes and get hit by the 4th, you at least know that Blight has to refill all Rushes before rushing again. But with Alchemist Ring, he has them back immediatly, regardless how good the Survivor-player was playing.
-
Maybe you should fix your internet problem before playing the game. The other 4 players in your game dont really care if you DC because of poor internet connection or if you DC because of a Ragequit, for them, the result is the same.
-
I mean, you can either have a strong Killer or a Killer who vaults Pallets and Windows. Both will not be possible.
I guess the Power will be the same, but there will be Add-On and maybe Basekit-Buffs. Thats about it.
-
IMO they should increase it at base and increase it further by 100k BPs for each Level of Devotion. This way the 2 Million for Grade Reward also make sense.
(You can go over the Cap, but you either have to play without receiving BPs after games OR have to spend them immediatly)

That's literally all slinger had going for him. He went from C tier to F tier
Thats because he was a very bad game design.
-
How do you know that those Killers were nerfed because of Solo-Queue?
I mean, I might give you Pinhead with that, however, Engineers Fang was Bullshit all the time. And the Box-Add Ons got nerfed, because the Devs kept his ability to use Hoarder (and Franklins) with the Box, which was asked about. So they nerfed the second best thing, which were the Add-Ons. But I can get behind the idea that this was done because of Solo-Queue, because there is less coordination and multiple people or none are going to the Box.
But Deathslinger and Freddy...
Freddy-->Really, he was so easy to play. He was simply too strong for being that easy, since they reworked him, my cat could probably play Freddy and achieve a 4K. Stacking Slowdown and reverse-bloodlusting were just awful mechanics which made him very easy to play.
Deathslinger-->It does not matter if the team is Solo or SWF, him being able to fake his power and also shot without any time to react was not ok. SWFs might have a better chance against him, because they coordinate better and do the Gens more efficiently, but this goes for Solos as well. When you go against decent Solos and you play Deathslinger, they will push the Gens, because you cannot really go into Chases with that guy. So the only strategy is to do the Objective and leave the game as fast as possible.
-
This sounds like Disconnects. Might be on your end. You can have good Ping and still have a ######### connection.
-
They get banned. But they create a new account and go on.
A friend of mine reported a Hacker a few weeks ago, they were banned the next day.
-
"Just like old ruin DH needs to be changed since it is in almost every match."
This was not the only reason why Ruin was reworked.
"Nothing but meta perks, how is that fun for anyone? Now this goes for both sides."
I mean, you have more variety on Killers side, as long as you dont want to go super-easy and run 4 Slowdown-Perks. But if you look beyond Slowdown, you can have more variety in Killer Builds, simply because every Killer plays different. So in total, for the Killer SIde, more Perks find actual usage.
For Survivors however, they have like 6 Meta-Perks. Of course you will see the same Perks over and over again. But, as we see with CoH, Survivors are also not allowed to have new Meta-Perks. Or good Perks in general.
-
Blue Dress and Wool Shirt, those are the Skill Check Add-Ons. But I also run Oppression and Lullaby on Freddy.
He is such a dull Killer to play, at least something which is a bit interesting to use.
-
This would remove one Survivor Perk from the Meta, which makes it even less diverse than it currently is. Because there is 0 point in running Iron Will if it does not reduce Grunts of Pain by 100%.
And nobody would run No Mither with 100% reduced Grunts of Pain either, since the Downsides of this Perk are way too big. No Mither should reduce Grunts of Pain by 100% anyway, without any swap with Iron Will. It would still be a bad Perk, but at least one Perk Slot is freed up.
-
@dugman said:
Huntress Lullaby is one of the few Hex perks I think isn’t strong enough to be a Hex, especially because it does absolutely nothing until it gets some tokens. Hypothetically even if the perk totally removed the sound cues from the start of the game, no tokens needed, it still might be a somewhat weak effect that shouldn’t be a hex.
But at least if they got rid of the tokens it would be an obvious buff. People could try it out at that point, and if was still too weak maybe just make it not even be a Hex or buff it some additional way.
The thing about Lullaby is that the game is not only played by veteran players. Even veteran players will miss some Skill Checks without Notification, so it would be at least annoying.
But, newer players will probably miss A LOT Skill Checks. And this would be too much. With Lullaby being a Hex they can at least do something against it, but otherwise, it would be a pain to go against for new players.
@Topic:
So... Basically old Ruin? How long did you think about this idea? It cannot be long.

Dead Hard is skilless and overpowered, iit rewards you for playing poorly,ts annoying and boring as fu@k to face, but when its unfun to killers, its okay,
YOU SHOULD BE PUNISHED FOR YOUR MISTAKES,YOU DON'T DESERVE THAT PALLET/WINDOW.
First of all, no Perk in DBD requires Skill.
Second, I would not call it mistakes. Players play greedy, BECAUSE they have Dead Hard. It is not that they mess up a Loop, it is because the Perk allows them to do that extra Loop.
@Topic:
Being used often was not the only reason why Ruin was reworked. It was ONE reason, but Killer players like to pretend that it was the only reason. Which is wrong.
If it was only because of usage, where is the BBQ-Nerf?
-
Yes, it would be better.
IMO MMR should be based around Hook on the Killer Side and based on Team Escapes on the Survivor Side.
If a Killer gets 8 Hooks and 0 Kills and another Killer gets 2 Hooks and 2 Kills, it is quite clear that the first Killer is the better player. But not for the BHVR-SBMM.
If 1 Survivor dies to NOED after getting chased for 5 Gens, there is 0 reason why they should lose SBMM. The other 3 gained MMR, because they escaped, while "only" doing Gens.
I think it would be more fair to change it to Team Escapes and Hooks.

Maybe it's because this is more of a joke? Just to find out how much players hate it... Noone really cares about players who still thinks it doesn't need a nerf.
Yeah, because god forbid those have an opinion which differs from the narrative of this forum.
Polls without serious options are nonsense. And if it does not include a "No"-option, it is a poll without serious options.

While 1 Million BP for each side is great, it shows that the BP-Cap is laughable low. If I get double the BP-Cap every month, it is a good sign that they might want to increase it.
The thing is, if someone already has leveled up all Characters, there is not much to do with those extra BPs. You can get some Add-Ons on Killers or Items on Survivors, but thats it. Of course you can save those 2 Million BPs for the next Chapter, where you can store 3 Million total (2 Million via Rewards, 1 Million via the regular Cap), but this means that you are stuck on those and the games you play will not give you any BPs.
Maybe it is time to raise the Cap to 5 Million. There were so many Chapters and Perks released that even saving up 5 Million Credits is not even close to be enough to max out a Character at release. There will be still plenty of grind left after a Chapter-Release.

I think it's one of the worst exhaustion perks in the game. Overcome only really effects M1 killers, but that's about it.
I would not say it is one of the worst Exhaustion-Perks. I think at least Head On and Smash Hit are easily worse when it comes to actual use (Head On is more fun to use tho). And probably Balanced Landing as well, since this is the most situational one.
But Lithe, Sprint Burst and Dead Hard are easily better.
-
I mean, if you are easily offended by ingame-behavior, you should not play any Onlinegame in the first place. In every game you will get some form of disrespect, either in Chat or via gameplay actions. Like, I got insulted in several ways in World of Tanks from funny things like "Your flag looks like a christmas present" when I was using the Flag of the Central African Republic (because it indeed looks funny) to things that are not nice from people who are way too far on the right side of politics and play a game where you can play German tanks because they are "patriots"...
It is nothing which is unique to DBD. What I have noticed in the DBD-Community tho is that players heavily try to copy Streamers or Content Creators in general, either with their opinions or with some actions. But what is unique is that most of those players skip the step of being good. Then you have some Nea following you around the whole time with a Flashlight, just to get grabbed while trying a CJ-Tech or going down in 15 seconds.
I would also not consider ingame-actions toxic for the most part, the word "toxic" really lost all its meaning in this game. Dont like something the other side have done? Just call it toxic.
And IMO, Killers have way more ways to make the game annoying for the other side. Survivors can teabag and click their Flashlight, but this does not prevent the Killer from playing or winning the game. Killers however can make it impossible for Survivors to play by facecamping as Bubba for example. The difference is that the Community parrots that one of those is a "strategy".
But overall - if you are easily offended by others spamming a crouch-button or telling you that you are stupid, stick to singleplayer-games. Because this happens in every Onlinegame.
(The only difference from those are hateful slurs, like racist or homophobic stuff. This does not have any place anywhere in social interaction, but sadly I cannot say that everything gets banned, since both the player who said that they tunneled me because of my F-Word Charm and the one who said some really racist thing are still playing the game, despite being reported with Screenshots to the Support...)
-
For me, she is not really fun to play. I want to outplay Survivors at Loops. But you dont outplay them with artist, you shut down the Loop, the Survivor leaves it and you catch them eventually because you are faster than them.
And you cant really blame Survivors for holding W, because you cannot expect them to go down at Loops either, when they cannot really use them against her.
It is not really engaging gameplay IMO. Neither for the Artist-player nor for the Survivor. And currently I am not really interested in playing her, despite her needing a lot of Perks to be completed. But I rather enjoy any M1-Killer over her.
-
I would rework Stridor entirely. It was a Perk which was only used on one Killer. I mean, you could use it on any Killer, but I have never seen it used on any other Killer than Spirit, aside from Adept-Nurse. And a Perk which is only used on one Killer is not really good to begin with.
It should get a new effect which makes it worth using on more than one Killer.
-
@Pulsar said:
It basically just gives me insane value for zero input.
I don't have to be good to use Overcome. If I get hit, I get insane distance and can make it to any tile in any map. There is no baiting it out or denying it from being used (unless it's an instant down Killer, but those aren't common).
Dead Hard is better because of the validation. That's why DH is the most powerful perk in the entire game.
You dont have to be good to use any Perk in DBD. This is something that baffles me on a regular basis: "Perk X does not take any skill!"... Yeah, the whole game is pretty much low-skill overall. Its not like you are a god gamer when you are at least decent at DBD.
@Topic:
Obviously the Perk was exaggerated. But this was to be expected, it is always the case that this forum freaks out because of Survivor Perks and aside from CoH, it was always exaggerated.
-
How can you even talk about strong and weak Survivors or Killers, when SBMM has nothing to do with Skill in the first place?
A Bubba who camps the first Survivor to death and gets a second Kill with NOED gets more MMR than a Billy who has 8 Hooks and 0 Kills.
A Survivor who ran the Killer around for 5 Gens and dies to NOED loses MMR, while his 3 teammates who only hold M1 on Gens will win MMR.
Those two examples alone show that MMR does not mean anything in this game.
-
"Would you Agree?"
No.
-
CoH is not the problem, Healspeeds are.
As a general Boon-Nerf, Boons should only apply to one floor. They are designed in a way that the Killer can snuff them out fast, this is not the case if they need to go to a different floor, while the Survivors benefit from the Boon on all Floors.
If someone wants to set up a Boon on the top Floor of Midwich, they should have to be on the Top Floor to get the Benefits.
Then, regarding Heal-Speeds:
Either, capping Heal Speeds at a specific Value (I throw in 150%, to make green Medkits still worth it).
Or, make CoH static values - healing someone else always takes 8 seconds, healing yourself always takes 16 seconds. So a Survivor cannot bring a green Medkit, Charge Add-On, Speed Add-On, Botany Knowledge, Desperate Measures and has a Self-Heal time of 5 seconds.
This would keep CoH a strong Perk, while removing the ability to stack Healing Speeds to have a way too fast heal time.
-
This seems to be it:
https://youtu.be/njLA0rdu9A8?t=10Starts around 5 seconds after the timestamp. Really awful sound.
-
Just a Killer who does not understand the game. Many of those out there.
There is 0 point in protecting your Ruin if you dont chase players off Gens. This is what the Spirit did - so she still had her Ruin, but it did not what it was supposed to do, because she only stayed at the totem.
Her fault, nothing toxic here. Neither trying to do Totems nor doing Gens is toxic.
(But "toxic" is such an overused phrase anyway. Everything is toxic nowadays, it became a generic word for "things someone does not like")
-
I almost never get Coldwind. Today and yesterday not at all.
-
Because at some point, the "most balanced Killer" is not the most balanced Killer anymore if Killer becomes easier over time. The best mobility combined with an easy to use Instadown might have been too much.
However, the Nerf aka Overheat does not really impact him at all. You barely notice it.
What hurts him way more were the changes to animations and FoV. The latter can be somewhat fixed with using Shadowborn, but not everyone wants to use a Perk to negate a Chance which nobody asked for.
And the animations made him feel really clunky.
I guarantee, if they remove Overheat, Billy will not be played more, simply because his animations would still remain the same.
-
And?
-
Because you cannot just nerf her. Nurse needs a full Rework, her power will either be too strong (like it is currently) or too weak (if you put too much limitations on her). Nurse basically does not play DBD and she would never be released in her current state. The only reason she exists with her power is because she was released early in the game when a lot of broken stuff was around - like real infinites, old BNPs, old Moris, etc...
But Nurse stays.
And IMO she is not even that hard to learn. Hardest Killer to learn? Yes. As hard as some players might say it? No. I have read players say that it takes weeks or months to learn her, but not really.
As I said, she needs a full rework. She needs to get her Blinks reworked (I dont know, like not being able to blink through Walls at default) and her Movement Speed increased to make her more in-line with other Killers. It should be easier to learn and play her, but on the other hand you should not have a Killer which basically cannot lose anymore when you are really good with her.
And you wont see ideas to rework her, because it is pointless. First of all, I dont think that any player can really think about a full rework which turns Nurse into a Killer which is actually playing DBD AND keeps her in a strong state. Because this would include everything, like creating a brand-new Killer.
And, second - the Devs just spent time to rewrite her to fix her Bugs she had for years. They wont change her drastically now, because this would mean that all this work was for nothing.
Last but not least, there would be a huge outcry in the community if they would rework her Power.

So, if it doesn't matter that much, you wouldn't be opposed to simply removing the Great Skill Check zones, correct?
Just making sure I'm understanding correctly
I dont care, really. But it is just the typical overreaction which is happening.
-
Classical Overreaction. Maps usually have Hooks close enough together that you dont really reach the end of the Wiggle-meter at all. The only exception might be Swamp-Maps and maybe Midwhich, however, I have now seen a Midwich-Map with a Hook right on top of the Basement (next to the entry), so probably more than enough Hooks back on this Map again...
But I guess players will draw Horror scenarios, obviously mentioning SWFs (the ultimate strawman), Breakout, Boil Over and the new wiggle...
In the end, it will not matter at all in almost all cases I guess.
Personally, I would prefer extra BPs in Survival instead of speeding up the Wiggle-Progress, but if they keep the Progress of 1 second (at max), it would not have much impact anyway.
-
Obviously DS is not an Anti-Tunnel Perk, because it does nothing against tunneling. It needs Buff in its Anti-Tunnel ability.
When reading OPs Post, 1 DS should not matter that much to you. You can down and hook two players in 1 minute and the person who had DS did nothing for this whole minute. So you had tons of pressure, even when you get hit by a DS.
So even if you get hit by DS after around a minute, you at least know that the respective person did nothing, which is good for the Killer.

What do you “plan” about NOeD? You don’t control anything about it. It could not even activate at all. It activates, or it doesn’t.
"Man, I plan to suck all game to get an Insta-Down and a Speedboost, because I cannot run Loops as Killer!"
@AngyKiller said:
Jesus. NoED does not 'save you when you get outplayed'.
It's an end game perk, that activates in the end game. It's called 'planning ahead'. Why is that so hard for people to understand?
As for Dead Hard...I honestly think DH should be 2 separate perks:
1 perk dives you distance, but you can be hit if you time it wrong.
1 perk gives you a moment of no hitbox, but you don't dash anywhere.
You dont plan ahead for NOED. No Killer can tell me that they prefer to win after 5 Gens are done and not before. The first goal as Killer should always be to not lose all 5 Gens, followed by not letting the Survivors escape.
Regarding your DH-idea: Perk Number 1 would be the one which would be played, because it would just be "DH for distance", basically before they fixed it, DH had the same purpose and was complained about, because Survivors used it for Distance, which was the only way to use DH.
The second Perk you created would not be used, since iFrames without any distance dont do anything, unless you are directly at a Pallet.
