You know what gives you immunity from being downed when unhooked inside the TR? Borrowed Time.
And no, BT should not be base.
And no, the hook should not have a 'safe zone'. This would be abused by leading Killer's back and delibrately unhooking inside his TR to get a free safe zone, then healing to full inside of it rather then running away. Kind of like how people force a proc of BT. And since healing can be done without an item... (Either by the unhooker, or via Self Care)
Looks like I found a way to abuse it. ?♂️
I said a safe zone for the unhooked survivor, not for everyone. Maybe read before spouting off things. You couldn't heal the unhooked survivor in the safe zone. The survivor who was unhooked would be the only one immune. You could argue that if both did that to each other, they could have immunity, but in that case they gave you an extra hook you normally wouldn't have. Who's winning in that scenario? Neither of them can move afterwards or they're downed again. If they leave the hook protection field, they're gonna get injured again regardless. That leaves only two people on gens.
Even if that did become a problem, there's a very easy solution. Once someone else is hooked, the protection zone dissipates for any other survivors.
Should also add Borrowed Time doesn't work for every killer now, because of Oblivious, so you can't say "That's the counter to all camping!"

This has been suggested multiple times to the point where I'm genuinely surprised people don't just a look it up to see if someone has suggested this. Because trust me you are definitely not the first person to come up with this, not by a long shot
Slowing down or pausing the timer has already been tried. It was been abused by survivors maybe if we lived in a perfect world where the survivors wouldn't abuse the mechanics this could be a thing that gets implemented.
The funny thing is as much as it has been suggested, and as many times as I see this same answer, the WAY it was abused by survivors was to "stay in terror radius". There are EASY fixes they could have made to avoid that. For example "if only the hooked survivor is in terror radius". This would not be abuseable by survivors. "If other survivors aside from the hooked survivor is interacting with an object inside terror radius, hook progression continues as normal".
Also, there are other ways to punish camping that would be fine and not be abuseable. They could put a protection zone for only the unhooked survivor, to where after they're unhooked, that hook protects them from taking damage for 30 seconds. Then the camping killer either has to sit there and wait out the 30 seconds, letting others pump out generators, or go look for someone else. You might argue survivors could bring med kits and heal themselves to full health, but that doesn't sound like a major issue to me, if that survivor wasn't camped, they would have gotten a heal anyways, but if it does become an issue, you could easily make it where that survivor could not use items while in the protection field. Sure, the protection field idea would also allow survivors to unhook right in your face, but the positives far outweigh the negatives. You can hit the survivor unhooking in your face and still chase them. You can't be tunneled off the hook, etc.
People spout that "It was abused by survivors" line so often, and so often someone brings up a suggestion that would completely render it unabuseable, but then it's ignored. If the devs had put ANY thought into their system after it was abused, it could have easily avoided abuse cases.
Camping is what drives away players, I can guarantee that, because if I didn't have the iron will(lol) I have, I would have quit ages ago.

The changes specifically.
I personally never really thought her changes were just from crying survivor mains, but I think they did get BHVR to focus more on their stats. Because apparently addons like the Saya were overperforming... Who knew?
I just find it hilarious that a majority of people, both survivor and killer, can agree on changes being a good middle ground, and those bozos are still crying that "she's f tier" or "it wasnt enough"
Yeah, I agree. But I only really care if a change is balanced or not. I mean the Spirit COULD potentially be too strong even after these changes, but we'll need to see. I'd rather they not change anything else though unless she's still overperforming.

@StarMoral said:
So far, I've definitely seen a majority of people agree/comply with the changes. I personally didn't really want Spirit touched, but was willing to meet in the middle for changes.
For me, these changes were the middle.
Honestly, the only people who are complaining are those who vehemently wanted no Spirit changes OR those who just want her gone. IE, edge cases.
I can definitely see how Spirit would be considered too strong, but I also don't think people complaining is the only reason she's getting changes.
I don't want her gone, and I don't mind changes, or do you mean the only ones complaining about the changes specifically? If that was what you meant then woops, I thought you meant complaining about Spirit completely. My biggest problem with Spirit though isn't any of the above(except for collision). It's more with how players will use her to tunnel people down. It just takes away a lot of the fun of Spirit when playing Survivor when you get a Spirit who's just leaving the hook, then phasing back to down you once you get unhooked, and sadly I see this all too often.
Then sometimes she's so good chases are nonexistent. I think that's a big reason people don't find her fun to play against. The chase is what survivors enjoy the most. When you're not even really getting to run, it's kind of like going from gen simulator to hook simulator.

You're not really making a point, but okay.
How am I not? You were saying if he didn't play scummy he'd basically be handing survivors a free win. I said he wouldn't and mentioned many things I've seen that would say otherwise.
If there were 3-4 gens left while he was playing scummy, him not playing scummy wouldn't reduce that number to 0.

Not really, she still moves at 176% speed at base, add sounds and scratch marks into the mix and you're still not likely to get away. Lets not forget you have to walk unless you want to run into her (for a free hit) so you don't leave scratch marks, so you're only at 56% speed. So in total she has 120% speed on you (that's almost default Billy speed advantage with chainsaw while she can go in any direction freely), while she can hear your footsteps, breathing, and if you're injured you're screwed. No we don't "throw iron will into the mix" because
A) perks aren't counterplay against killers. We shouldn't have to run perks good against 1 or 2 of 17 killers because they're unbalanced.
B) Stridor says hi
C) You still hear footsteps even in the worse case scenario
D) Scratch marks and moving grass lead her near you, into sound range. At the worst back onto the survivor.
Knowing she's phasing alone won't do too much, we also need something else. She either needs omnisound so she can't tell direction, loss of scratch marks, an indication of where she's at for the survivors, or something else. The community has given plenty of alternatives. She won't be garbage, she will be fairer. Spirit problems, in the simplest terms, is she gives the survivors no info while she gets a boatload and a speed boost, on a low cooldown, with no downsides besides losing the body of the survivor in a game where sound and scratch marks matters more.
Her clues are too subtle. Tiny shards glowing on her body is not good enough when skins, lighting, LOS, and the survivor looking where they're going for 2 seconds can get in the way. Footsteps are not good enough if they're so light you need to be on a rainy map and without chase music to hear them. She needs changes.
You can't tell exactly where a survivor is if you hear footsteps. If you're running from Spirit, she phases, and you walk in the opposite direction for a bit, she might know you're in the general area, but without collision she could attack with you behind her, with you a decent distance away from her, or she could keep going thinking you're running in the other direction. She has a specific time limit she's invisible, she doesn't usually have enough time to determine precise location before her phasing wears off. Even better, you also have the option of running, stop running, and then walk in the direction you were running, leading her to think that you turned around, which will make her lose even more distance. This gives survivors a way to mind game the Spirit back imo.

How would you have him play? Should he tip his hat and let the survivors win? Because if you give a survivor team an inch, they'll take a mile. And if you try to be nice, they'll sh*t on you anyway.
Funny, because he usually 4ks in his videos with 3-4 gens left. Sometimes they might have 1 or 2. I don't think I've seen a single video of his that ended with the doors opening. That said I haven't watched a lot of his more recent videos.
I also see a lot of killers NOT play scummy and still 4k quite often.

This perk was totally bs, imo. It's totally unfair to make stealth killer lose their main power. Poor wraith has NOTHING but invisibility...
I feel like it was only BS for Wraith, but even then, that doesn't justify making a perk literally help a killer while being a detriment to the survivor in any situation. There's no killer perk like that that doesn't add BP(and usually even then it has a benefit to killers in some capacity. I've used Distressing to make survivors not know if I'm actually near them or not with Spirit to get gen grabs, for example).

I thought this was about the killer field of view and I was about to rant about how Shadowborn should be standard. But yeah there's a lot of toxic pricks killers deal with. It sucks because toxic players create more toxic players. I used to be a complete ######### to people because I would get trash talked every game so I stopped feeling any empathy for survivors. Which bled into my survivor games. I felt a lot better towards people when I started watching streamers like Otzdarva who encourage a positive attitude and good sportsmanship.
TBF Otz from every video I've watched of him uses a lot of scummy tactics like hell and then says "sorry for <insert scummy tactic>", lol. I like the builds he does but the way he plays leaves a bad taste in my mouth sometimes.
To OP, while you weren't really doing anything bad in this scenario, I've only gotten one salty response, maybe two as killer when I play. One was because I was using NOED when I was new, but I shut them down really quick with my response, because I killed everyone before NOED even came into play which made me laugh at the person complaining about NOED of all things, and I don't remember the other. I play pretty fairly I think(I don't use moris because I believe they're stupid, I don't tunnel, unless that person is the only one I can find at the time, and I don't camp), so I don't receive a lot of hate messages from survivors. I think it's possible to ignore the toxicity as long as you don't play like an ######### to people by preventing them from playing the game entirely.

Rest assured if there's an object take full advantage of your new power over it
??
It seems weird from the killers perspective but I tested it and played against may of objects and had alot of fun ?
I mean, yeah, why not take advantage of it, but just like I said before they made this happen, it's pretty BS to make a perk that can ONLY hinder you against certain killers.
People were like "Ooh, they wouldn't do that, surely it'd work both ways", but nah, let's just make a survivor perk that helps killers and hurts survivors, lol.

Good sir... what killers are viable for purple and red ranks? Is there like... A tendency towards who you face there? Or do you see all kinds of killers? Ahm... I don't know about you, Red Ranks and Purple ranks, as an XBOX player, are filled with Spirit, Freddy and Nurse.
Why do you think that is?
Why don't killers play as other characters? Cause they feel they don't stand a chance against those suvivors.
Why not buff other killers for them to be red rank material? Why nerf Spirit and not make it so that people decide to play as other killers? I can't remember the last time I played Doctor, Pig, etc.
We don't know the reasons why Devs make changes to anything, they don't post statistics or justifications, they're all speculations.
"Spirit was over performing" ok, what's "overperforming"? what's considered balance? a 2k average? Or are the Devs trying to please more the "having fun" than an actual killcount balance? I guess we won't know, at least for now.
I dunno about you but I see a lot of people in purple or higher playing killers that aren't Freddy, Nurse, Spirit, or Billy. A lot of streamers also play a lot of killers at higher ranks and seem to do just fine.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/104279/prayer-beads-clarification
currently when she phases without them you can only hear the whooshing sound when you're in her terror radius. With prayer beads there is no sound at all. With the update I imagine it will be something like legions iridescent button, So it will sound like she's right next to you no matter where you are the entire time.
It's basically just to notify that she is phasing instead of not knowing.
What he's saying is that if she phases with this new addon, he's wondering if you'll know she's phasing if she's chasing you every time because you'll hear the whooshing sound, or if it won't play the whooshing sound in TR when she starts phasing.
To OP, I think it'll probably be like you suspect, which might be bad for chases. But every iridescent addon(or at least most) have a hindrance attached to them. Perhaps prayer beads bracelet is going to be meant for surprising people at gens and be bad at chasing. So to use that addon effectively you'll probably have to juggle survivors.

BP and that's all. Game offers nothing else anyways lol
You get significantly more BP for playing killer, and you don't have to just do gens and escape without offering any other form of gameplay(which there is more to survivor than just doing gens and escaping if you're actually playing the game, which I don't count what you're doing as such).
Btw last I checked farming survivors off hooks was actually reportable, I either Peanits or someone saying that if it was intentional farming that it was.

I just had a game where skillchecks were so choppy that I could barely get a good skillcheck let alone a great.

can't ######### first hook and I unhook you lol and I do gens and search chests and do totems. I'm not screwing around the entire time but if I deem the situation for me to get out then I do. I won't stay around and kill myself for others. I'll get out. Get over it.
If I see you coming for me across from the map and I know you're in the same match as me, I can easily just one hook myself. I do it for moris, and I do it for people who plan on farming me.
Either way, the game you are playing sounds like gen simulator to me. I cannot see any reason why you would play DBD if all you wanted to do was gens and leave.
Also searching chests IS screwing around. So is doing totems unless you suspect NOED or it's lit.

Then do it lol. I get more points for unhooking you in the killers face and sacrificing you and still getting out. I'll do it every match I can because it increases MY chances of survival. I don't care about a single other person. None of you matter to me. As far as I can tell, you're all expendable bots that I shouldn't worry about in the first place seeing as how you all play anyways lol. Don't like it? Don't get caught out and hooked lol. Get over it lol. Thanks for the free points :)
You wouldn't get points from me is what I was saying. All I have to do is wait until you're being chased by the killer to come unhook me, then I kill myself on hook and now you're screwed.
Also what's the fun of even playing survivor if you literally do ######### all and look for the hatch?
-

Really? You don't imagine people throwing pallets all over the place just to get a challenge done and then having no pallets left in a match?
You don't see 4 people self caring in a corner for a full gen worth of progress each?
Forcing killers to bring moris because they're so terrified of flashlights that any time they see a single one they bring an ebony?

@MrPenguin said:
Her gimmick needs to go, it's not fun or fair to go against or play with imo. Its just a guessing game on the survivors side, which I don't want in DBD. On the killer side it's too easy and my mind state is basically "yeah yeah I'm spirit, good luck when you don't even know where I am." But that's my opinion.
"time for a true display of skill! -stands still-" This has become a running joke between my close friends who play killer when they play spirit. It's not fun to win just because the character you're playing makes skill irrelevant.
Knowing whether she is phasing or not will nerf her into oblivion in chases in addition to the collision removal. The collision removal was the only REAL thing she needed aside from addon changes. With no collision, you can now manipulate your scratch marks as to where she will not know where you are. You can run in a straight line, and run backwards, and it's a guessing game for the Spirit now where you are. Previously you couldn't do this because she would bump into you. It adds a survivor sided guessing game vs the Spirit that was much needed. Knowing whether she's phasing or not removes her ability to mind game you. Besides, there actually are ways to know if she's phasing or not, even if they're subtle.
Add Iron Will into the mix with the bump changes and it'll be extremely hard for a Spirit to find you if you mind game her.

######### the emblem system and ######### the pip system. It's been busted from day #1 and everyone here will agree. Literally everyone. I'm not here to satisfy my supposed potato team. I play solo only. I don't play with a single person and never will. I'm here for me and I'm #1 on my own team. I will let you all die to survive and I get more points doing so. Get over it.
If you play that selfishly you shouldn't get more points from doing so. You would ONLY get gen points and escape points, maybe perhaps boldness if you weren't playing like a chicken, but if you're playing for yourself then you are. Healing and unhooking are a lot of points that you'd be missing, and if I knew you were going to play like that I would kill myself on the hook right as you were about to get to me. Selfish people don't get to unhook me.

That isn't really being a detriment to yourself though, and honestly you don't even need Insidious Bubba to do that challenge, lol. Of course, the grab one will be quite easy as well with Spirit. I get gen grabs with her without prayer beads at least once a game.

Hmm, ok. I getcha both, and I see where you are coming from.
The way you phrased it made it sound like self care and anyone who runs it is bad though, I was hust trying to say there are scenarios and people who use it responsably and effectively.
Like when you said gens, and people self caring right infront of you or whatnot, I know lots who do that to be fair. But generally, if you don't get off gen after a few seconds, I'll go to working on the generator as well.
I understand Inner Strength is a quicker replacement to Self Care, but not everyone who runs self care is a Bad player, and not in every scenario is it a bad choice. I will admit, I usually run self care and medkit, because they kind of stack (and if my medkit runs out, I can always heal up regularly).
All I was saying is, there is a scenario where every perk in the game, no matter how bad you think it is, is useful. Except MoM, but that's just because Distraction hit scoring events are bugged, and MoM doesn't register them. (I honestly think it should register Distraction, and Protection)
Anyways, thank you both for having an honest, actually well thought out discussion with me. That honestly doesn't happen often, here or on other forums.
It might be decent if Sloppy Butcher wasn't such a common perk, but as is, I feel like Inner Strength trumps it in nearly every way. The uses of Self Care are so few and far between imo that it shouldn't be used, in a game where you need consistent use of a perk in order for it to be considered good.
I might also add that Inner Strength ignores Sloppy Butcher, which is another way it trumps the perk.

@I_Be_Pro_Fun said:
So, its a little obvious to mw that you two don't play Altruisticly in the sense of going for hooksaves and protecting teammates.
"If you get hit more than two times a match, you are doing something wrong." Was truly the dead give away. If my teammates get hooked, I am generally the one to save them (Usually run borrowed time, self care, Babysitter, and an interchangeable perk which is usually more gen oriented or Dead hard.
Say my teammate goes down, and gets hooked. I go in for the save, and get hit. I loop the killer, and occasionally heal a little, until either he goes after someone else, I am fully healed, or he gets me.
Now lets say, he goes after someone else instead of finishing the loop with me, and I fully heal. Sure, it does take longer, but now, I am ready to go. Say, six seconds before I finish healing, he snags someone off gen, and hooks them. I now heal up to fully, and can go save them.
If I had been running Inner strength, I would have had to go and find another totem before I could heal up again, meaning that getting hit while going for a save.
And yes, I know, if the killer is within distance to hit me when I go for the unhook, its unsafe, and could be considered farming. But there are lots of times killers camp (everyone knows that). There are killers who watch from afar. There are just the killers who are patrolling in the area. Sometimes I body block, or take a distraction event.
The reason you guys don't see it as viable, is because it's a waste of time and cannot be prepped like other perks (like inned strength).
But if you are playing altruisticly, or as a distraction to the killer (like me), self care is higher ranking due to the fact that it can be applied over time, can be applied mid chase, doesn't require me to do totems, and has no minimum number of uses.
While generally, Inner strength is more time viable than self care, the fact it has a limited number of uses, as well as has to be prepped reduces it's viability for more altruistic players.
So just don't completely disqualify self care's uses, please.
(Also, didn't they nerf DS? I thought you had to be hooked, and then you had 60 seconds where if you get grabbed it can be activated. Or does that not affect locker grabs?)
I do go for hook saves, when my teammates allow it, but I don't when they're over there directly by the hook waiting to farm them, which happens quite often. I never said "If you get hit more than 2 times a game, you're doing it wrong". I said if you're SELF CARING more than 2 times a game, you're doing it wrong. There should be no reason you should self care all game, other teammates exist, it's faster. Self Care is a time waste, meaning you should not be doing it that often. You can heal with more things than self care. Med kits, allies, etc. Self Care, if used, should only be used in situations where none of those are available to you, and that should not happen 5 times in a match.
If you're saving someone from a hook, then wait until the killer leaves. If the killer does not leave, you're putting your team in more danger by trying to unhook in front of the camper, because then they'll down you, and then down the other person, now they get 2 hooks, and can still camp one, likely the one they hooked the first time to ensure they die quicker.
Yes, you have to be hooked first for DS, but a totem takes 12 seconds, and then a locker takes 8. That's 20 out of 60 seconds. You can also have inner strength already prepped by the time you got unhooked, saving the person's time who unhooked you and protecting yourself in the locker in the event the killer comes after you with 3 different perks. If the killer grabs you out of the locker before Inner Strength deactivates, you have DS, if Inner Strength deactivates, you have Head On.
If you're trying to be a distraction, you generally won't have time to self care in front of a killer's face, not a good one anyways. You waste the killer's time as much as possible, then you're hooked. Self Caring in a chase gets you hit sooner more often than not.
A survivor has 60 seconds of hook time before they go into stage 2, and if you're injured, you shouldn't go for the save, someone healthy should. Everyone should be working on gens for as long as possible before unhooking that person. Self Care shouldn't be needed to go for an unhook, UNLESS you're going for an end game play, everyone leaves and it's just you.
-
I mean, I played Spirit when I first bought her(not long ago) and managed to get like 4 gen grabs in one game. I had an Ash literally gen tapping(funniest ######### ever), and I didn't even have prayer beads(in fact I had no addons and only one perk because I like to level up killers while playing them). I just acted like I was in a chase near a gen, phased out, and boom, walked around until I bumped into a survivor on a gen and got him on my arms. Every game I've played her I've gotten at least one gen grab. That said I haven't been leveling her lately as I've been playing more Myers when I play killer.
This is why I think collision in phasing needs to go.
-
I think the biggest reason are the most annoying players seem to play Nancy most of the time. Finding a nice Nancy is once in a blue moon, but then again, look at the source material she comes from. This is just my survivor experience. Though playing Killer I've found some decent looping ones.

Me too, Rin would be so cute as a survivor. It's probably a rework of Spirit's power or something. I doubt they're adding more lore because right now we're focusing on Trapper and Claudette and they'd probably save that for the tomes. Maybe she'll be the biggest rework yet and be given two swords or something with a new power and new animations.

Well acting the way they act, they may as well be schoolchildren.

I've been recently getting into Obsession perks, which are really good like STBFL, as opposed to Hex perks that get almost zero use before they're broken. But I meant what I said: I feel like my matches are hit or miss, almost like I don't deserve to be at rank 5. But I say that because I saw another guy's post which said just that. When the devs close the gap between SWF and solo, maybe then it'll stop feeling like that. As for moris, I've never had more than like 7 at a time on any given killer, so you might want to check if that "60" was overall or just for 1 of their killers. I think the green and yellow moris are perfect, but the pink ones are so obviously unfair. I only really enjoy using them when I know I'm beating a toxic SWF group with them, and because the devs never made a SWF indicator, I never know for sure if they are.
It was on one killer, but that doesn't matter. 60 ebonies is 60 ebonies. As for "beating a toxic SWF group with them", I boycott the use of all moris, unless they're in a perk. I'll use Rancor, or Devour Hope, or Judith's Tombstone(I only use that for things like "kill all survivors in one match" though, except for the one time I wanted to try a build around it), but I will not use a mori, especially not an ebony, even for a mori ritual. If I can't beat the enemy with my own skill, then I just need to get better.
I also don't slug for the 4k, I leave it up to chance.
And yes, obsession perks are fun. I especially like to combine Furtive Chase with Remember Me. Easy Remember Me stacks without having to tunnel down your obsession. I used that combo a lot when I started leveling Freddy.

Implying that age has anything to do with sportsmanship? Man just go and see few killer mains on Twitch. I doubt any of them is a teen...
I'm pretty sure it does considering my game quality yesterday.

I did the maths on the same calculation and think your estimations of some values are incredibly far off.
I don't know why you'd assume that tier 2 and 3 give MORE fragments than 1 when even 4 does not.
You also neglect the daily bonus experience which can amount to a large number of levels.
Most matches are also only around 10 minutes long. Assuming that each match takes 25-30 minutes from clicking "ready" to find a lobby until being able to do so again is a vast overstatement.
Most matches in red ranks might be 10 minutes. A lot of games on PS4 in purple are 20+ minutes assuming the killer doesn't camp and tunnel people out of the game. Also what daily experience bonus? I may get 1-2 levels a day without a tome and that's playing several games.
On the weekends while the kids are out of school the game quality is so terrible that I only got 1 level playing like 5 or 6 games of survivor. Perhaps I'll do like some others and just grind out 5 minutes killer games by letting everyone do gens and escaping.

Killers are fighting fire with fire. DC hatch escapes and gen rush are the norm. Winning a match as killer feels inconsistent as if by dumb luck, because one match you get a 4k and the next 3 people escape. I can maybe believe that a few of the matches you have will be lost due to bad teammates. But c'mon, you can't just blame your teammates every time because we all know that killers who go through 5-gen chases lose 95% of the time. You probably just had a bad day, but be grateful. Killers have those kinds of days every day.
I generally see good killers rarely ever having those kinds of days.
As for the Mori thing, yeah, it's not as rare as it seems. A lot of people will tell you they are, but they're lying. People have 60+ moris in their inventories, or more, and those are ebonies.

I do just have to say, your defense is inner strength is eight seconds. Which, comparitively, is faster than the 24 seconds of Self care. Quick question though...
How long does a totem take?
Cause I'm fairly certain that the totem + the 8 seconds (not including the fact that you have to find a locker).
Not to mention, it has a limited number of uses. You can use inner strength a maximum of 5 times a match! Thats if your teammates dont cleanse any totems as well, so you can heal 5 times, compared to Self Care's unlimited number of uses. And a med kit has it's own drawbacks. Its bright (bad for hiding), it has a limited number of uses (generally 1-3, maybe 4 with good add ons). But it is completely countered by Franklin's demise (which any smart killer would run).
Is Inner Care better for it's faster heal time, and the fact you can prep it? Yes.
Is it viable with the fact totems take longer than self care does generally, and the fact it has a maximum of 5 uses? Not as much as you write.
If I have to go for an unhook or a body block, I would rather have the 24 seconds flat whenever I get injured, than all the time and specific scenarios where Inner Strength is Viable. (Also, side note, Self care is good for waking up and I can use self care mid chase. And I dont proc Iron Maiden).
Thank you for coming to my TED talk
If you're self caring more than 2 times in a match something is wrong. Self Care takes 32 seconds, they were wrong about it being 24. Also Inner Strength + a totem would take 20 seconds. Finding the totem might take another 12 seconds, MAYBE, but you usually spawn right next to one, or can find one within the first 3 seconds. Now it's already prepped, you've taken out 1/5 totems for NOED(actually contributing to the match), and if you're unhooked, that person who was gonna heal you can go do gens instead while you get in a locker. When you're self caring, you're doing nothing for your team. You're just giving yourself an extra health state while someone else is being chased and two people potentially are on gens. You running to that corner to self care while the killer was chasing someone else instead of letting the unhooker with We'll Make It heal you just wasted time for absolutely no reason. This is the reason Self Care is bad. It promotes selfish gameplay. Oh and I've never seen someone get spotted because they had a med kit...lol.
Who runs Iron Maiden besides Huntress? And 10 seconds isn't a problem, you're usually too far from the killer for Iron Maiden to actually come into effect outside of just showing the killer where you were 10 seconds ago. If I run Inner Strength, I'm also running Head On, and I always run DS, so that's 3 perks great for locker plays already. If the killer spots me, I have Inner Strength activated, and I'm far enough away but in an unsafe area, I can run into a locker, they can sit there waiting to bait me into a Head On, and if that 8 seconds pops, I'm fully healed and if I manage the Head On, I've just created a fresh new full health chase vs the killer. If I don't get the Head On, I lasted longer than I would have if I didn't have Inner Strength.

I would probably return to the PC version of the game when I have the chance to, though the thought of being so far behind really puts me off going back to it. I haven’t played PC since January of 2018, meaning I’ve missed everything from the SAW Chapter onwards there. I’ve got a lot more characters with a lot more perks on PS4 and I absolutely don’t want to buy the DLCs I have missed on PC. Not a chance am I sinking more money into content I already own elsewhere. I’ve done it once before and I refuse to do it a second time. Cross-Platform Progression would be amazing, though I sincerely doubt it will ever be implemented.
I honestly think it's a goal they're working toward. I remember taking a survey and it asked about cross platform. I also think the addition of Bill to PS4 was probably not easy and I suspect that they did that in order to make cross platform a reality in the future at some point.

I do notice a difference between weekends and weekdays. Summer time is the worst to play this game and I can only assume its because all the kids are out of school.
I would love (and pay) for an '25+ age server' lol, like a bar for video games ^^ However that isn't realistic I am guessing. Kids will just be kids.
Your best bet is to find an adult swf group :)
I mean the game is supposed to be Mature. Kids shouldn't even be realistically playing this. Doesn't change the fact that one guy messaged me asking to SWF and it was a 12 year old kid trying to sound like noob3.

If you take ruin into account then..
You on average get 8 skill checks every generator you do. Because every second a skill check has an 8% chance of appearing. Missing a great skill check wastes 7 seconds of the gen. Meaning you waste 35 seconds on average with ruin up for every gen you do. On total that's an average of 115 seconds which is still less than 120 seconds of the hook stage. You also have to take into account
Did ruin get cleansed
How long was the chase between the camper and survivor
How long it took the camper to search around the map for the survivor
Can the survivor hit greats
How many SC did the survivor even get.
So even with ruin surviving a game against a camper is still pretty easy.
You talked about thanatophobia
Thanatophobia on a camper. Basically only one person is injured the entire game if the killer camps so that 4% of gen regressions ain't much and is actually very very minuscule.
Again same goes for dying light. If the killer is a camper chances are he only has 1 hook the entire game if he camped. That 3% is even worse than thanato.
There are ways you can guess a killer is camping
Maybe nobody is injured for a period of time
The terror radius hasn't popped up
If the survivor waves his arms on the hook signifying "hey it's a camper"
But again even if you don't know the killer also had to spend a lot of time too
Looping
Searching
Hitting
Breaking and vaulting
Going to the hook
Hooking/picking up
Whereas survivors can spawn directly on top of gens and just get to work exactly at the start of the trial. You might say "but what if hex skillchecks just keep coming?" That's rng. Try hitting great sc as best as you can. There are also many times where you won't get much skill checks at all. use a tactic many dbd players do. Everytime you get a skill check and you fail, get off the gen and wait until the sparks go out. While it doesn't do anything it does prevent more skill checks coming while the gen progress is stopped for a couple seconds.
So after the guy dies 3 gens have already probably been completed which leave 3 to do only 2 gens. The process repeats. Killer has to loop for x amount of time and i can't stress how important loops are. If you are any good at looping you can loop a killer for more than 3 minutes. The killer downs the survivor. Killer wastes time picking up and going to a hoom and hooking the survivor. Also loses time hitting the survivor and breaking pallets and vaulting. While the last 2 other survivors are busy working on the last 2 gens while ruin MIGHT be up.
The thing is, that 115 seconds you're talking about is for ONE generator, not 5, and 3 survivors can't do 5 gens if each gen takes them 115 seconds. If each gen takes them 115 seconds, then that means that there will still be 2 gens left assuming they do one each. Thanataphobia and Dying Light, as I said, yes, they will only have 4 and 3%, but the thing is, killers run multiple slow down perks now, all together. I've had people with Thanataphobia, Dying Light, Pop, AND Ruin before. I only listed the maximum possible speed you could do a generator with ruin in play, and again, if the killer is camping, you don't have time to look for Ruin. If you spawn on it, then you're lucky, but otherwise, if the killer is camping, searching for Ruin will just make sure that person dies and then he can go on to the next easily.
If a survivor is waving their arms it doesn't always mean the killer is camping. I wave my arms when no one's coming to get me and there are 3 people on gens far off from me and I know I'm gonna end up going into second stage if I don't get their attention. There are different uses of waving your arms. Some survivors wave them just to wave them. If you don't know the killer is camping, he didn't spend any EXTRA time than he would have ensuring that person on the hook dies. You would and that allows him to move on to the next target he camps, creating AT LEAST a 2 dies scenario, which is their idea of balance. So how are you PUNISHING a camper by giving them a draw if in the BEST case scenario, only 2 will get out? I've already established that even if 80 second gens were possible, the survivor on the hook would still die before the other 2 gens were done. Survivors waste time in games before they know it's a camper, and in some cases even when it is a camper, but even if they did not, if the killer got his hook, you'd have to have already done 50% of 2 gens and immediately start working on the next gen(with no travel time) to beat 120 seconds of hook stages. But again, you're gonna try to unhook the person if you don't know it's a camper. No one's gonna assume just because they don't have a heartbeat he's camping, because he could be chasing someone else. Most will verify it first. Otherwise you're just leaving someone on the hook to die for no reason. But yeah, the killer did "waste time" chasing that first survivor, but sometimes you just end up in a bad position on a super unsafe gen just to go down super quick because there's no safe areas around you.
There's a reason a guy said he camped all the way to rank 1 and it worked. You also didn't seem to have any reply for my mention of the guy bringing Monstrous Shrine, Agitation, Iron Grasp, and Ruin which causes the person they're camping to die even faster. Sure, that might never happen again, but we every survivor was working on gens hardcore that game and no one got out.

Oh, so it only mostly destroys his main mechanic unless Doctor makes sure to always run a specific class of addon. Then it only kinda destroys his main mechanic.
It's still a Perk that remains extremely effective against Doctor when compared to all other killers. Just as Saboteur, Slippery Meat, and Small Game have additional effectiveness against Trapper.
I'd argue Small Game is significantly more powerful against Trapper and Hag than Calm Spirit is against Doctor. Sure, it prevents screams, but you still have your tracking with the illusions.

Because there exist perks that range from soft to hard counter specific killers. For example, the Doctor runs at an extreme disadvantage against anyone with Calm Spirit.
Whereas the killer only has one thing they know for sure, the item you're carrying. Survivors can even find items while they're in the match or change them mid-match when they find another one (or give it to someone else). Survivors don't have unique qualities between them since it's just about the perks.
To be honest I don't think Calm Spirit is even that effective against Doctor. It prevents screams, but if you're running Restraint addons, it doesn't prevent tier up screams, and it doesn't prevent madness build up, meaning Doctor can still cuck your item use. You still pretty much have to snap out of it unless you just don't care about using items you brought into the trial/found.
That said, I don't think survivors should see killers. But I also don't think killers should see survivors. It's pretty BS that a killer can go "Hm, 2 flashlights, time to bring a mori!" whereas a survivor can't say "Hm...a mori, time to bring a key!"

Having her collision removed is really all I care about. I mean aside from how easy it is to tunnel with her, which is rather frustrating because I find a lot of Spirits on PS4 do this, but that's not really her problem.

Pay to Play implies that there are monthly payments. It's not a payment model that works for anything other than large MMOs with tons of content. This is not a large MMO. This is also a game with a lot of third-party IPs that likely need to have the money spent on them separate from everything else (so that they aren't taking a cut for the entire game instead of just for their purchases).
Well I know it's not gonna happen. I'm just venting about how god awful the game becomes on weekends when school is out.

1) "campers and tunnelers"
Camping has a big counter and that's to gen rush. If the killer camps punish it. By gen rushing the killer will depip and only get a single kill if you guys are any good. This will discourage the killer from camping more. Tunneling can be tunneled aswell. BT and DS are one of the most run perks on survivors. Also the same strategy can be used on tunneling killers. The killer only realy targets a single person which leaves the 3 of you free to gen rush and get out
2) agreed.
3) "stressful without friends"
Nope. The only thing that is really a hindering factor are bad teammates. Other than that you still have all your second chance perks, large god loops, fast gen times, and pallets. Even without perks the game is still survivor sided. Just don't get caught. If you got caught even though you had multiple loops to aid you, then you just got outplayed.
4) "survivors are boring" killer can also be boring. I can agree on 2nd objectives though. But the reason why survivors have no abilities is because devs didn't want a low and top tier between survivor abilities. They dont want to discourage anyone from playing anybody they want.
5) "rng is stupid" yes but i feel rng on killers have it worse. They can have ruin just to get it destroyed within seconds. They can spawn on blood lodge with 25 pallets. They can completely have their games ruined by one auto aim which can't be turned off. They can have all of these combined. And that's not even including all the tools survivors have against them.
You say gen rush is a counter to camping, and that the killer will only get one kill if they camp, but here's the thing. A person hooked takes 120 seconds to die on hook. A gen takes 80 seconds with Ruin in play(assuming you hit every single skillcheck, and even red rankers don't do that). If you're looking for Ruin you're wasting time against the camper. If you do it during Ruin, you have 3 gens done and if each one is on another gen that's half a gen done each, or(I dunno how much slower it is with 2 on one gen but) 90% of one gen done and another still at 50%. So how is the killer only going to get one kill if they're camping? That's not even including Dying Light or Thanataphobia, which both will slow gens down even more, even if only one person is injured/hooked. You also have to take into account time finding out the killer is camping, and running back to your gen. This also requires the perfect scenario of your teammates not stupidly attempting the save regardless. Meaning you either need teammates who understand, or you're in a SWF.
I mean hell I had one guy make a BUILD around camping with Ruin, Agitation, Iron Grasp, and Monstrous Shrine(Yes...Monstrous Shrine) just to ensure the camped person died faster.

Oh that. Well you'll have to rank up, or get with a SWF. At some point killers can't just down you easily. That point will take you probably getting to rank 10 or less though. You'll get camped until rank 10 or so most games(or someone will), and then at rank 10 or less the tunneling starts, so try to have DS by then.

then yeah, pay to play wouldn't do good.
I mean if it didn't cost to buy the base game and the Rift didn't exist(or at least it just gave you the premium and free tracks automatically), I don't think it'd be so bad. At least then I wouldn't get 15 year old douches in my games on the weekends.

p2p works better than dedicated servers(because game was designed for p2p and for now is poorly optimized for servers this is why we can't properly understand where and how killer hits, Huntress still has weirdest hitboxes, Michael can't properly control his stalk, autoaim cucks killers like never before. basically my point is where it used to be SOME GAMES ARE WEIRD now it's ALL GAMES ARE WEIRD)
change my mind
I was talking about pay to play, not peer to peer.

8 sec locker time + 12 second totem time + travel time from totem to locker = not that much better than self care.
Plus, it is hard limited to 5 heals (assuming no one else cleanses any totems)
Except you can do the totem before even becoming injured, and totems prevent NOED, and you're actually getting extra points and contributing to the game. With Self Care, you're literally just standing in place healing yourself for 32 seconds, and who needs 5 total heals? Generally you need 2 at most, maybe 3 occasionally, and you don't ALWAYS have to use Inner Strength to heal. If you're hooked, a survivor can heal you.
-
I just had a Nancy unhook me both times and completely ignore healing me the entire game. Everyone stayed injured all game and the killer won obviously. I was the last to die, kindly told the Nancy that healing will help win games, and she said "Self Care is a thing". I was like "Are you serious?" I walked up to her on a gen, she ran off the moment someone else was hooked, and I had to complete her gen injured. It was a very frustrating experience because she was also with a friend who was using self care. Like, you're friggin NANCY. YOU HAVE INNER STRENGTH.

Don't use Claudette. That's just asking for moris and crazy strong addons and tunneling.
