What do you "had" it's still there. Literally whenever I try to hop on with my friends, stuff occurs. Either they show up but one of us don't see each other, an error would occur for no reason, cannot connect to host, etc.

Those are bugs. Originally it was intentional.

I stopped using it since I rarely get to stab with it

Just run into a locker immediately, lol. Bonus points if you take Head On+Inner Strength. They either wait out your DS and risk gens popping like crazy, leave you so you're safe(which ACTUALLY prevents the tunnel, better than eating the DS imo), or eat the DS, or you get healed to full, Head On them, and then run away and they're chasing a full health survivor again..

    Bit of an update.

The first entry in "Claudette's 8th Birthday" has PERFECT pacing, it's much more enjoyable to listen to.

I don't understand why "The Hunger" and "Blood, Brass and Grit" are so bad in comparison. MAYBE for parts of the hunger, but not the entirety of both sections.

Hm, iirc I wasn't even a fan of Claudette's first one.

I didn't know what to expect really. However, the idea of having the survivor tell the story would be awesome. Killers, i guess the narrator, depending on the killer maybe. Legion and Ghostface could tell their own story. Naw, it would be better to hear Sally talk about her experiences.

The only time I don't think the killer needs to speak is for Michael Myers and Leatherface, in which case for Myers I feel Loomis would be an appropriate alternative. Freddy also possibly, since he's not really alive anymore and I feel like it'd be weird having Freddy tell his story, even if it is the story of that awful reboot. But even then, those are licensed so they likely wouldn't get anything anyways.

Overall though the narration just feels bad to me.

The main reason I'm even playing survivor is trying to get the Archive missions complete but I don't hardly get a chance to do anything. Just had a game where I was in the basement looking for a med-kit and Feng got downed near. I hid in a locker and waited for her to get hooked down there and when the Wraith left I got out to save. BUT I had Spine Chill and he was still looking towards the hook so I waited longer. Feng then proceeded to kill herself, which I promptly saved her once I realized but she already wiggled to second state right as I save. She then proceeds to fast vault the window until the killer comes and I just used the shack pallet, causing her to get downed instead of me. I saved the Kate that had gotten downed but the game was already lost at this point. Feng then proceeds to flame me and call me a locker hiding rank 20 and a sandbagger. I'm pretty much at my breaking point with this game.

I think with the archive missions you pretty much have to accept that you're most likely not going to live when doing them. If for example you have one where you have to get 3 great skillchecks with This is Not Happening, you pretty much have to equip No Mither and a toolbox with sabo skillchecks. That's how I got the challenge. I equipped "increased skillcheck on sabotage" addons for my toolbox and went around saboing hooks until I got 3 great skillchecks. With get 2 unhooks in one game, you're pretty much forced to either wait until you get a game where everyone's done their rifts, or run BT and unhook in the killer's face. If you're doing a difficult archive mission, don't worry about surviving, just finish the mission so you can get a better one next time.

Fun fact, the disturb 25 crows took me 4 games. I disturbed 19 on Hawkins, 0 on a corn field map, 3 in another game, and finally the last 2 in the last game. I don't know what happened because I felt like I'm always disturbing crows.

Sometimes instead of using the back button, press Esc to back out and it doesn't kick me out sometimes, but it doesn't always work.

It seems like kicking people out is a bug, to be honest.

It may be a bug, or it may be intentional. If you for example open the store, you get kicked out of being ready in a party. I assume this has to be because if you're in the store you don't really have time in a lobby. I assume if it does the same for the Archives. It'd be hard to maneuver around in there while in a match as well. Either they just made it kick you out because the Archives is more complex than the store potentially, or it's bugged and it's only supposed to force you to be unready.

That said, I wish there was like a "fast selection" type screen when choosing a new challenge in the survivor/killer menu, instead of having to go through the whole thing. Like perhaps allowing you to choose one of the connected nodes while in lobby waiting, and giving you the option to go to the rift and select a different node if you want to instead choose something away from the last node you were on.

Yeah, that's totally a "letter of the law" vs. "spirit of the law" line of debate, though. I have to assume that people who make this argument understand that they are taking a bad faith position, they just insist on not acknowledging the problems that come with this kind of system in terms of how it locks a lot of the player base out.

It's also a "have our cake and eat it too" case for Behavior, putting a Fortnite-style battle pass in a traditionally priced $19.99 game with $89.87 worth of expansion DLC (i.e. all the stuff that features new characters, not just cosmetics). Every non-F2P game that dips its toes into this particular pond experiences backlash, and it's because the publisher essentially takes consumers for suckers. Look at what happened with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, as a good example.

It's kind of a weird road to see this game go down. The irony is that most of the stuff in the Rift is pretty mediocre; I'm not too thrilled about charms (even as a concept), and quite a few of the cosmetic pieces are just recolors. I think the Tomes (the challenges) could potentially work even without the Rift tracks in place, but man those level 4 challenges are something else.

Honestly I'm more worried about what happens when all the challenges are done. Getting rift fragments without the challenges is going to be hell and I don't expect anyone to actually complete the rift without paying for progression. I'm currently at tier 12, and 3 of those are from the tome, and 7 of them were given to me automatically when the rift thing started. Meaning I've gotten 2 tiers in 3 days. With 70 rifts total, and I think there are 93 rift fragments you get from the first tome(9.3 tiers), and I would assume this would be the case for each tome, meaning with 4 tomes you get 37.2 tiers. The other 32.8 will be done just from getting rift fragments from exp. If I did my math right.

  • That first game I imagine maybe ONE gen was done the whole match looking at their BPs, IF THAT. Second game they did a little better, but either way, I only see one BNP in both games and an "insta heal" which is basically just a heal while moving, because it still takes the same amount of time as if you were being healed normally.

My thoughts exactly. It's like he's just trying to get it over with as fast as possible or something.

Yeah, the narration's not good. To make it worse, when I turn Autoplay off, it doesn't stay off. It keeps resetting back to "on." It should stay off forever unless I change the setting myself.

It's sad because I was expecting the lore to be more well polished since they were adding it directly in game as story.

I have to assume the developers cannot possibly be this tone-deaf about their game, and that these level 4 challenges we're seeing right now aren't final.

If I'm wrong and they are this insane, it would be a shameless push for players to spend money to bypass challenges that everyone knows are functionally impossible. I will definitely stop engaging with the Archives altogether if this section of the tome hits the game in this state.

I mean, we told everybody a battle pass would be like this. Everyone said "You don't have to pay for it", "You're choosing to pay for the battle pass",etc.

  • @meatisadelicacy said:

I've wondered how these challenges are going to throw off the balance of the game. I'm a survivor main, my dailies are 99% killer, and I almost never do them because of it. I might play five killer games a month. With the challenges being 50-50, won't that throw the balance off? And being a survivor main, they'll be even harder for me to do, and vice versa. So are killer queues going to be out of control at all ranks now? Survivor mains trying to do really hard killer challenges sounds like a nightmare to me. I almost wish there were two rifts you could purchase - one for killer or one for survivor based on which you played more.

I was afraid a battle pass would make this game be a lot less fun and you could already see both survivors and killers playing differently on day one.

Honestly this should make it easier for you to do the killer challenges because you'll be in a lower rank, vsing potato survivors.

I shared a ss showing my solo que match getting a 4-man escape against him, it isn’t op just because someone or multiple people feed him stalk.

To be fair your killer was rank 8 and the other four were ranks 3 and 4. Also if you haven't tried it, Judith's Journal + Furtive Chase completely negates the downside of having to stalk a lot. You can get to tier 3 extremely fast by stalking your obsession, hooking them, and then stalking the new obsession. I'm not arguing for or against removing it, but it's not as bad as it seems if you know how to abuse it. I used Judith's Tombstone + Judith's Journal and if I had not killed my obsession third, I would have got a 4k mori quite easily with plenty of stalk left to spare.

I didn't farm them off hook. I knew it was my priority in the game but I still played it normally.

And yeah, I know I got tiers from just playing; that's why I said "from the challenges and grind." I earned 12 combined. If it's true that you get almost 9 tiers from challenge rewards, then I earned 3 tiers just from grinding the challenges. I ended the night at 22.5 tiers. I wasn't counting the glitch.

I don't know the specifics of XP gain, but I'm getting well over 500 per game, so if you need 800 XP per fragment and you need 10 fragments per tier, that would mean I would need to play around 15-16 games per tier.

Yeah that sounds impossible and nothing like the one hour a day I heard they were going for.

Lol. Somebody has their panties in a bunch.

The point isn't the bp, the point is that they're taunting the killer by doing it. Instead of being big kids and, you know, leaving when it's clear, they hang around as a middle finger to the killer. Why does the killer need to hold their hand out the exit gate?

I mean, killers will sit there and stand over your body until the EGC ends, and this was a thing long before there were challenges that forced you to do it. It's the SAME EXACT THING, if not WORSE because the survivor can't force the killer to hook them, while the killer CAN run people out of the exit gates.

Funnily enough when some killers try to be toxic while I'm near the exit gates on the ground knowing I'm not getting out, I crawl toward it constantly, they'll pick me up(or may not have to), put me away, and let me crawl again, until the EGC is almost over, and then, the idiots will pick me up as a final "Nope", and guess what? Now the game is bugged and won't end until one of us DCs, and of course it isn't me that DCs. That's my kind of payback. They just sit their trying to attack me, and my body moves up and down as they attack, and they can't do anything to me. I love when that happens honestly, and crawling toward the exit gates, no matter how far away I am, will always cause the dicks to do it at the last second.

I completed the first tome. Most of them were done in the first try and I earned 12 tiers in The Rift from the challenges and grind. YMMV.

Did you BT farm people off the hook or something? I was unable to get the unhook 2 in one game because of other survivors doing all of that. That said, I started at tier 7(I would imagine others did too), and you also got exp from doing the trials, not just the tomes. That would be why you made it to tier 12.

So each fragment costs 800 regardless? How is the EXP calculated? What gets you exp, how much do you get for what? Is it the same as player level exp or something separate?

  • @InfinyMage said:

The Best thing Survivors can do after youve healed or body blocked or what ever excuse you have for staying is LEAVE. We dont want chump change BP... We would rather be able to start the next game. Than wait the full EGC timer out. Please just leave. It takes long enough to find a lobby as killer sometimes so dont subject us to further meaningless waiting. We sit through an entire match from start to finish.

At least a a survivor a match ends the moment you either get sacrificed, escape via hatch, open closed or spawned hatch with key, escape via exit gates.

A killer has to wait till every survivor does one of the above mentioned. To be able to even consider Que for another game.

And for anyone who wasnt around before EGC was a thing. We veterans do remember. So please even if its just a minute or two saved, dont remind us of the old days of hostage games.. Because thats what you do as a survivor when you wait till last seconds of EGC. Wether good or bad intentions its the same feeling.

It honestly sounds like you don't even want to play the game, considering the way you talk is you only want it to end. I'd imagine waiting forever for a match would make you want to play it, not wait for the next one.

As for pre-EGC, it's not like survivors were being toxic by having hatch standoffs. They were in a hostage situation just like you were. Blaming survivors for not leaving through the hatch when killers were there literally to prevent them from doing that is silly.

  • I actually had a Trapper farm with me today. I assume it was to get his trap achievments. I wanted unhooks, but he refused to hook anyone. =/

"Juggling multiple survivors" sounds great in theory until you realise you spend more time running between survivors than they do mending.

His killer instincts are terrible at showing distance so you're as likely to run at someone who you can't physically reach as you are a nearby target.

His speed is so low that survivors even a moderate distance from him can 100% counter the power by simply running in a straight line.

You injure multiple survivors, and down the one you can't get to/end your power on the last one after stabbing them. How is this a bad thing at all? Either they mend, then heal, mend, then get on generators with you able to one hit down them, or don't mend and bleed out. All of these situations are good for Legion.

So your killer instinct ran out as you were chasing someone who you knew EXACTLY WHERE THEY WERE. This means you now have a target to chase and down instead of looking around for that pesky P3 Claudette, AFTER already hitting another survivor, or even multiple. Again, this is not a negative point to Legion. You've taken out one health state of one to three survivors and are about to take out two of another. Any other M1 killer, or most, would have ONE injured and everyone else healthy.

His speed is not low at all when using Frenzy. He moves 1% less than Wraith speed, the absolute fastest killer in the game. When he isn't, he moves as fast as every other killer who has the max movement speed possible for normal movement. I'll use the same argument a lot of people use when they claim that if one survivor can do something, all survivors can. If one killer can make great use of Legion and 4k consistently, all killers can.

  • While these completely suck, I have to say the name Decisive Light is pretty great for the flashlight save 2 times in a trial. That said that means I need to get better at flashlights. Good thing med kits aren't as good now, gives me a reason anyways.

Wait, COMPLETELY repair 4 generators? Doesn't that mean you have to be on all 4 solo? Or do coop actions still count for complete repairs? Jesus if not that's gonna be impossible. I've only done that one time and that was because no one was doing gens but they managed to run him around long enough for me to do those 4 gens, and we still died.

  • Yeah, but some are just silly. Like that time when Sprint Burst exploit was a thing. They fixed Sprint Burst but you could tell they didn't test any other exhaustion perks. Others got problems shortly after that and surprise, we had to have a fix to Dead Hard as well. You'd naturally think "Oh, I just messed with Exhaustion, maybe I should go check the other Exhaustion perks", not "Well, Sprint Burst is fixed, time to ship the changes!".

The lie detector test determined THAT was a lie. Survivors do it regardless of how the killer played in game. If you make it to the exits, just leave. Stop holding the game hostage for extra points and grandstanding and move on.

Saying this is holding the game hostage while multiple killers say that standing over a downed survivor waiting for the entity to take them during EGC is not is pretty silly. But I only do it if a killer is camping or tunneling or brings an ebony. Or if it's GhostFace.

This in all likelihood will only ever happen once in a game. Competent survivors will know not to group together against a Legion.

One thing I'd also like you to consider is that DW will not down people most of the time, and the iri button (arguably their best addon) makes that happen way less due to the way the addon works (map wide TR). They're kit does not synergize well with itself.

Part of that though is due to True's skill, not due to base kit Legion (unlike Spirit, Nurse, or Billy). This is all due to Legion being an M1 killer for the most part... whose power is the only nonlethal power. Every other killer can use their power to down people. Legion is the only exception. They're very tricky to use overall, and it's not as easy as nurse is or Billy is... yet they're top tier.

And yet, you still get a hit on one, and know where the others are, and are heading in the direction of another. This isn't a bad thing.

It's fine that Deep Wounds will not down survivors most of the time. It's not MEANT to. It's meant to slow them down.

I disagree that it's only True's skill, because he himself said he would rate Legion higher, and that people would be surprised by how he would rate killers if he were to make a tier list, because he rates them based on their ability to juggle multiple survivors. He says this multiple times when playing Legion. Nurse and Billy can also juggle multiple survivors, it's WHY they're top tier. Legion isn't top tier because he's not as strong as them, sure, but are you asking for Legion to be good or top tier? Because as far as I've seen from True Legion is still good, but not top tier.

  • Yeah, it's even worse because killers are camping to make sure survivors aren't unhooking, and people are literally rushing to hooks so I can't get any unhooks. Been on this for 4 games where normally 2 unhooks it would take 1 or 2. I don't think BHVR realizes that when players are given a certain thing to do, and the opposing side knows about it, they do everything in their power to prevent that.

  • That's not specifically the Halloween event. The Halloween event is literally just the putrid serum being in the battle pass, and the offerings. The Rift/Archives are entirely different.

  • @HatCreature said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/798358#Comment_798358

Well when I say beneficial I do mean that if they are already injured and you use the power they get BT and that's better than getting downed, that's as if you weren't already injured. Unlike Plague, Legion can't upgrade their power to down anyone and must hit them normally. I can see what you mean though with Plague and Legion being similar but Plague doesn't get a 4 second stun when she vomits and she can upgrade her power as well as not give Survivors any second chance such as cause Deep Wounds so Plague is much better than Legion so Legion should be buffed to match her.

So for an example of replacing DW with something else, FF can instead put them into a state similar to Madness where they can't heal, cleanse totems, or even do Gens. So for a fixed amount of time they are in a state where they can't do anything and just run around like chickens. I think Mending takes 10 seconds so this could last 10 seconds and would be so much stronger than DW because you can still do all those things while you're in the TR and a smart Survivor takes advantage of those things. Right now, once Legion hits you it's a 50/50 chance they won't keep chasing you so can just Mend right there or just do a Gen while they are chasing someone nearby and once the TR is gone you still have 30 seconds before you fall down so time is on your side.

Legion is designed to juggle four survivors at once though. Plague can't do that as well as Legion(She still can, but not as well as Legion, because she can't keep track of all four). Of course if Legion hits people while they're already injured, he'll only give them Deep Wounds, his power isn't meant to down them, and if he COULD down them with it, he would be severely overpowered. Imagine running as fast as Wraith cloaked and still being able to down people. You hit as many as possible with DW, then on your last survivor you down them. The other four have to mend if they're out of your TR, which gives you time. If they heal, it gives you even more time. I believe the devs did as much as possible to give players a fast killer without making them overpowered, by setting limits on it's use. If they had not set limits. Legion would be more powerful than Nurse, because you wouldn't be able to get away from them.

Of course, seeing True play Legion QUITE A BIT and 4king a lot with them(even with no addons) also makes me think he's not nearly as bad as people say, and honestly even makes me think he's one of the better killers. I actually like Legion, sue me(that said I'm not a high rank killer as I've been trying to get survivor out of potato ranks and it seems like a full time job, but I feel like if I got the hang of Legion enough, I would not have any problem using them. Getting stunned out of your power at pallets with no DW on anyone sucks though. However I blame that on myself).

  • Even worse I've had killers camp the event gens to prevent them from getting done, and so far played 3 games, 2 moris.

  • @HatCreature said:

The biggest problem Legion has right now is that his power Deep Wounds is tied to Borrowed Time and they work exactly the same way, Legion's DW is actually STRONGER than BT because Legion's has a 30 second timer rather than BT's 20. If BHVR just replaced what FF actually did to Survivors then Legion would be fixed because BT is not a threat towards Survivors, it never was and it was never designed to be as it was first introduced as a Survivor Perk, that right there says this cannot be weaponized and Legion proved that by making it too powerful and needed a nerf.

Legion needs FF to do something else and then the Add-ons should reflect what that is and technically that is a buff to the base power and add-on changes.

His power doesn't help survivors in any way however, Plague's power cannot kill if you don't cleanse, but she's basically tier 3 Myers all game. Should her power be changed as well? They're very similar aside from Legion moving faster while Plague taking a while to put you in that injured state.

Premonition and Spine Chill will still work against them, and due to the changes of it, E1 Myers is now susceptible to it.

Unless somewhere in the patch notes they say it was a bug, thus rendering this comment null and void.

i have to agree with the killers and not because it would be a nerf but because it would suck as a survivor and actually heavily favor killers. after your second hook you cant use ds if you get tunneled and your not given the opportunity to be saved by a teammates. you will be killed right where you get downed and a hook wont be destroyed after your death so getting a lucky wiggle off the killer is harder in end game for you or your team. Believe it or not survivors get saved a lot when there on the last hook and they have also wiggled off me a few times because i killed the survivors in one area so there were no hooks. As i have said before no one really has a good nerf for mori's. you could just make mori's only usable after the second hook which would be a really boring way to change them and even then people will still complain.

There are ways to ensure you get grabbed though, and 99% of the time if the killer tunnels, your DS goes off right after first hook. That said I do see the negatives, but the idea was that they're still sacrificing having less points by using a mori on you. You're already 3rd hook, so if he gets you to a hook you're dead anyways, so they risk not getting as many points by not hooking you and instead using a mori on you. It'd literally just be for the animation, which is the way it should be imo.

If perks are being brought into this then I could Dead hard and use my purple insta-heal so insidious wouldn’t work. Spine chill and premonition counter the stealth part of stealth killers, does that mean that no one should play stealth killers?

    You also won’t always de-pip.

If you have Dead Hard, and a purple insta heal(why are we still calling them insta heals anyways?) to use on yourself AND you're the one on the hook, sure. That's a lot of requirements for a common thing, but yeah, if you also were a killer without a way to reduce your TR, sure, this would work, it'd just be really hard to use all of those every game for such a common occurrence, especially, again, with the way rarities work, since you get far more red addons than purples.

Here's the thing about Spine Chill and Premonition and "stealth killers". Stealth killers don't exist. They're all just killers. They're not lumped into a class of killers. They have stealth abilities, sure, but that doesn't completely nullify them, and they generally have other abilities as well. Spine Chill works the same for any killer, when you think of it like that, same with Premonition. Pig's main goal isn't to be sneaky. It's part of her, but it's not her "role", so to call her a "Stealth Killer" feels wrong. Same for the others, except maybe Wraith. He's the only one I would consider being known as a "Stealth Killer" because that's literally all he has and all he's known for, and even then he has a loud bell that signals whether he went invisible or not(depending on addons). GhostFace doesn't have to be stealthy to stalk you. If he's leaning he can do it in plain view because you can't break him out from behind something(usually, he's buggy seeming with his reveal) and still get you to 100% unless you have some cover, and you don't ALWAYS have cover, and he will always make progress, so at some point he can still pop it on you. Not seeing him helps him, but it doesn't make him completely pointless if you can. So I disagree that those completely counter them. To some degree, yes, but it works the same for every killer. It doesn't discriminate. Some it just hurts a bit more. That's different than a perk being completely unusable because it's a certain killer.

Sure, just 95% of the time you will.

thank god they will be gone. as for moris i see everyone wanting them nerfed but not once have i seen someone offer a good suggestion on how they should be nerfed.

I offered one a long time ago. A few killers got annoyed with me removing the ability to kill survivors by hand before death hook(and making it base kit) and changing the offering to something with a different objective than generators for survivors, putting the game in favor of the killer but not in a way that actually makes it where they win with no effort and no one gets bloodpoints. Other than that everyone else ignored it. Mainly because if it's not an anger fueled discussion on nerfing something into the ground, or buffing it to where you'd have to be one armed and blindfolded to not win with it, people ignore it.

Insidious won’t work, you have to stand still so the survivors can still run away. Aren’t some killers supposed to counter certain things?

You'd only have to stand still until they're unhooked, at which point they have no borrowed time and you can just re-down them. Killers are up to 15% faster on most normal occasions, and even higher with perks. You could stand directly next to the survivor for that. As for killers countering certain things, I've always been of the opinion that perks should not be countered by killer powers. Perks should counter perks. Otherwise what's the point in the perk? Why should I bring Borrowed Time if at least one fourth of the killer roster can nullify it? Also I don't feel like killer powers should grant them the ability to just be complete ######### in game just because they picked a certain killer and now there's no way to play other than do gens and leave one person to do nothing and depip.

What I’m saying is if you’re certain that the killer is approaching then use it, problem is that it also hurt non-camping killers, a camping counter should counter campers, not everyone.

Problem is if anyone recommends any kind of camping counter someone says either "It's been tried before, even if you managed to make it completely impossible to abuse by offering logical solutions to the previous failure, it'd still be too powerful and survivors would abuse it", or just get up in arms about it.

Wouldnt BT or the new styptic be just as good at countering camping?

Freddy, GhostFace, Insidious, Wraith, Tier 1 Myers, Pig crouched, etc. They already took use of Borrowed Time away from Freddy. I wouldn't be surprised if even more changes come for it.

You could use it once you hear the tr, you should have a pallet nearby. If it is a stealth killer then try to stun them if you see them and then use it, you’ll either loop around the dropped pallet or move to the next one.

If you're injured and the killer isn't already chasing you, you would have already used it before even hearing the TR. This sounds like you're saying to use it while not in a chase, unless you stun the killer. But like I said, it removes an important counter to camping.

Honestly, it was a bit dumb to down someone only for them to get brought back up, I don’t want that back. They aren’t dead but they’re definitely more bearable for killers. Pink is still good for self-use though.

Only if you're in a safe spot to use it. You generally don't have that kind of time considering the time it takes to even start healing before you can use the instaheal part. There's a pretty big chunk of delay at that point to where a killer would probably be halfway done with his animation of breaking a pallet before you used it. I don't really like the way Instaheals were done personally, because I mainly used them to get people out of situations where they were camped, and now that's gone, but I have a bigger gripe with how they're handling med kits as a whole which imo were gutted with the changes to Surgical Suture, Abdominal Dressing, Medical Scissors, Needle and Thread, and Self Adherent Wrap, while also nerfing the charges on every med kit except one.

If you use it correctly then no build is required, eight seconds really isn’t that long.

Using it on other players in the case of campers, Mori denials, and everything else regarding smart use of healing other players have been completely removed from the use of a syringe. I suppose new Styptic can replace those, but they're far rarer(and I'm not sure about the use of them against moris since you'd still be in the dying state, and afaik you still can't use a styptic AND a syringe together, meaning you'd 100% have to be in a SWF to prevent a mori and even then it probably wouldn't work 99% of the time).

But a major nerf to nurse? And a buff to healing speed? Just sayin' if you didn't noticed.

I don't think the Nurse nerf is "major". I'd say it may be major to people who haven't played her much, or don't play her much, or aren't that good with her, but otherwise I don't think it's a major nerf. The healing speed is only to other players, while also there are now NO healing speed addons. Pretty much a nerf all around for the med kit unless you're healing others, which you don't bring med kits in with the intention of, and We'll Make It fills the role of healing others better than any med kit.

1 or 2 of the survivors can by doing gens and leaving. Especially if no one gets hooked.

Iri light is 270 which is

all survivors get 25 points for all the gens getting done and 15 for the exit gate opening. So you start at 35. Dull totems are 20. And you get up to 33 points for being in a chase while others repair. So 270 is pretty easy as long as you do 2 gens and are active doing other things.

So Iri is going to go to at least 1 of the 4 survivors maybe 2.

Unbroken is an iri as long as you don't get downed or hooked. So Guaranteed 4 if you do gens and leave without interacting with the killer at all. Light can still be 4 because you can do 2 gens and 2 dull totems and you've got 275. So 8 points is very reasonable.

You start with 35 points in benevolent, so you you only need to heal one person to get silver and get silver, which puts you at 10 points. This will get you all the way to rank 8.

After r8 you need 12 points to rank up. So it gets harder to rank up without cooperating and playing right and of course r4 to r1 its even harder. But the survivors at this point were trained to gen rush...

As far as I've been aware totems give Boldness, not Objectives. I could be wrong, but I was pretty sure it was boldness.

You're misunderstanding what i meant. You'll get the endurance hit and be put into borrowed time/deep wounds state.

Even if successfully put into deep wound state against a killer that can remove TR like freddy you'll go down because the mend timer is tied to the TR.

So it'll work but you're guaranteed to go down in a few seconds even if you don't get hit again.

Oh, right. So now both are countered by certain killers. Any med kit vs Plague except Styptic and Styptic against any stealth killer/Freddy. I mean med kits are becoming pretty useless now. Guess I'm gonna have to start using Adrenaline and Inner Strength. RIP perk options. At least I prestiged my David, so I can just use all the current brown medis I have rn and ignore them all. I needed to start practicing with a flashlight anyways.

Also are we SURE it gives Borrowed Time? Mettle of Man is considered Endurance and it doesn't give Borrowed Time.

My other favorite fourth perk is Alert, which gives you frequent, perfect information with no distance limitation and no cooldown, whenever the killer performs an extremely common action.

Problem with this is the new UNDETECTABLE status effect which now makes it not work on 1/4th of the roster.

    @xEa said:

Spine Chill is totally fair and ballanced, its actually a mid tier perk at best. Dont use it, and DEVS, dont investigate this perk. Trust me, its not OP or anything! Not OP! Dont! Go away, take care of ... ahm... DS... yea DS is broken, but not Spine Chill.

Just wait, they'll come for it soon. They already came after Alert, which is worse.

I wasn't being super specific by chase i meant following with the survivor right there in eye sight no moonwalk or anything.

So wraith/pig can crouch or cloak and follow until down and myers/ghost can chase until down? Implying the Ghost Face can keep his power up as well.

I don't think you have to be in TR for the Endurance buff. It just says you can take a hit. Borrowed Time only GIVES you the Endurance buff if you're in TR. Think of this more like Mettle of Man, but controllable.

eh I just find there's literally no reason to use it over new styptic

Except for the fact that you'll find Syringes far more often than you find Styptics because of the BS way rarity works. So now we're stuck with another red addon we have to look at in our inventory constantly. I'm more annoyed by the other addon changes though tbh. Can't heal ourselves remotely fast anymore because people need to run Sloppy Butcher to make sure people keep going for the gen rush.

  • Playing Survivor with someone else I can rely on honestly makes the game much more calm for me. I like competition a bit myself. As long as I make sure that one of us gets out, I'm happy. I also disagree with @meatisadelicacy because I find a lot of players will try to help you out. That said, there are situations where there's nothing you can do, or your "teammates" aren't actually being helpful. The killer controls the flow of the match. If he decides to camp his first hook, the only thing you can do is do gens as fast as possible while the person on the hook fights for as long as possible so you guys can get out. If not, then you can play as normal. If he's tunneling that one survivor, you can try to take the hit so that he wants you just as much(though sometimes a killer will not care if they get a hit on you and only want one person dead asap).

Small victories, I would say would be things like losing the killer, or making him give up on you for the moment. Or getting that Borrowed Time save where he's camping at the end of the game and getting both you and that person out safely, making plays that surprise the killer, or yourself.

  • Sorry, but that isn't all it requires. I've had killers DC at loops that aren't even that bad, and some that DCed after long games that ended at the exit gates. Had a Legion DC because all four survivors managed to live during a long game with Dying Light + Ruin + actually healing each other before we even got the gates open. Don't blame this on killers DCing because people BM at exit gates. That usually isn't even what killers DC for. Usually it's sporadic. I've even had killers DC after they missed and hit an object. It's silly to blame killer DCing on Survivor behavior, but then also blame survivor DCing on survivor behavior. Blame the people who DC, because they made that choice, and just because a survivor ran them for 5 gens and decided to hump the ground a few times doesn't excuse their even worse sportsmanship.

    @ProfessorDunwich said:

I get a paltry amount of points and can't really play a killer I spent real money for and spent time leveling up. I find that far more upsetting than losing 10-20k bloodpoints.

I think you just had bad survivors. There are survivors who DC if they're found first. There are many who don't. I will say recently though since the Stranger Things update has been out for a while DCing has become far more prevalent. I think this is because they're newbies who have PTSD from all the camping at lower ranks that they automatically assume if they're found first, they'll be camped and just DC to end the game quicker because they expect it to be a bad game for them anyways(not excusing their bad sportsmanship, but when I was a newbie I DCed if found first as well for this very reason if I suspected the killer was going to be an #########). If you're higher ranked then maybe I'm wrong and you just got idiots. Either way I don't find it to happen every game I play a certain killer. Usually it's just, if someone is found first, they DC if they're a potato. That said, you can still get points as killer with 2 DCs, or even 3. Just farm with the remaining survivors and you get all the points you need. Oh, and Rancor obsessions DC a lot too. I honestly kind of laugh at that, because they still have a chance to escape.

Anyways to the main topic. I haven't seen people DC against Plague or GhostFace. Spirit, Freddy, Bubba, Billy, and Legion are the only ones I've seen people even remotely consistently DC against. But even then it's not consistent. It just depends on if you have ######### survivors who are not confident enough to win against the killer you're playing. Fun fact, went up against my first Prayer Beads Spirit yesterday and I definitely agree with all the "Prayer Beads OP please nerf" threads. Just having something appear in my face with no warning is definitely BS. We did almost get out because we went places where the generators were not to heal up(were not SWF, just kept meeting there somehow without knowing each other was there), as she kept hitting one of us and then going around to look for others, and even slugged people. We had 1 gen left and she just DCed. Oh, secret offerings are another potential cause of DCs.

I told you in my first post I don't know the reason, I just assume that there is one, otherwise they wouldn't have done it. I'm not a game designer, I'm not here to speculate about why the developers made the design decisions that they did.

All I'm saying is that, from what I can see, the problem lies less in the game design and more in your outlook. Perks help, yes, but they're not a dealbreaker. It's not a "punishment" not to have all the leveling benefits unlocked from the get-go, and if you think you should be able to immediately start winning matches the first time you pick up a character you're not used to playing, perks or not, that's a fault with you and not with the game.

EDIT: You said in your initial post that this concept was foreign to you. It's hardly an original one. Try playing other games where you unlock benefits by leveling up your characters, and then you might understand a bit better how the system works and why it's not as absurdly unjust as you seem to think.

Locking perks by levels hinders a lot of things. For example a guy who leveled Clown to rank 1 suddenly leveling Plague will be facing far more optimal survivors who have 4 perks each while he has one. That's a huge power imbalance. The same can be said for survivors. if someone leveled Claudette to rank 1, but the killer has 4 perks and you're using level 1 Kate, it's going to be significantly harder for you to get points to level Kate. You can argue that you could level someone else to level Kate, but someone might actually like to play the character they're leveling. Also 100k, or 150k, can't remember which BP can level you to like level 10 or so. That takes a decent amount of time without double BP. Then there's prestiging, in which case you've leveled that character well over the required amount of levels.

That's like nothing than... well, at least they don't get the debuff from Dying Light itself...

    I'll edit it above.

Yeah, it's also unhook speed, LOL. That's why Dying Light + Ruin is becoming meta. Heck I even see people run those two PLUS pop a lot lately. Just had either a GOOD Nurse or a hacking Nurse(don't know if people can hack on PS4 but this Nurse looked like they were using range addons, despite having no addons. I know when I play Nurse I don't move halfway across the map in one blink though even fully charged without addons, though admittedly I don't play her much. However on PS4 you don't play much vs Nurse, until recently anyways, so I can't be 100% sure. Seen 2 Nurses in 2 days and both hit 95% of the time in one blink chain after finding a survivor, but that second one was hitting me from a mile away with one blink and I was like "Omegablink", but it supposedly wasn't. The first one WAS Omegablink though).

  • @FireHazard said:

    @HatCreature

So, it takes 80 seconds to finish a generator by yourself without hitting great skill checks... if you add in the max 16% debuff from Thanatophobia... than that's like... 12.8 seconds added onto that.

So instead of 80 seconds flat, it takes 92.8 seconds to complete a generator by yourself with the entire team injured... now, we'll factor in a full stack of tokens with Dying Light on top of that. (Note, I can't find anywhere that says how many tokens Dying Light can have, but since it works off of all the other Survivors hook states besides the obsession... we'll just say for the sake of the discussion that it's 9 full stacks.)

Anyways, Dying Light gives the Obsession a 33% increase to Repairing, Healing, etc. But with 9 tokens on Dying Light + Thantophobia... that's a 27% decrease AND a 16% decrease from both maxed percentages on all Survivors EXCEPT the obsession...

So, the 3 Survivors that're not the obsession will get a 43% decrease to that 80 seconds... so that's in total 34.4 seconds added on to that 80 seconds making it... 124.4 seconds to complete 1 generator by yourself with no great skill checks!

Now, since the Obsession ignores the negative effects of Dying Light, it'll only take them 53.6 seconds to complete a generator by themselves with no great skill checks... but if you add the max negative effects of Thanatophobia onto that, than it'll only take them 66.4 seconds to complete one generator solo...

    That's the math my dude!

The obsession only gets a healing% increase now. They don't get a gen speed increase.

  • You can hear breathing. If you hit them once they can't hide from you. Also if you play survivor you should be able to expect where they'd be hiding if they were immersed. A lot of immersed Claudettes will hide in corners that will try to blend, but they don't blend like they used to so they're still visible in most occasions. Yamaoka Estate is a whole different beast though because it has crap pallets but better hiding spots. A Jake or Claudette with brown clothes can hide in the bushes and be nearly invisible because the colors almost match. However like I said, if you hit them once, it's impossible to hide from the killer, unless they have Iron Will and you don't have Stridor.

  • Sorry but no. I should not be forced to play a game where my bar is red for the entire duration of the lobby because I'm forced to ready up, or really in the example you're providing, not even have time to see if my bar is red or not.

  • @indieeden7 said:

Do you think those ideas haven't been suggested already? They simply won't work in the game, a killer that can fly would be ridiculously powerful, and a killer that could shapeshift would get destroyed by SWF and detection perks.

I mean a shapeshifting killer would still be hard to pinpoint whether he was the killer or not even in a SWF if he could take the looks of other survivors that were in the match, and couldn't be detected by detection perks while taking that form. By the time they were able to ask if it was their friends, it'd be too late because they wouldn't have a TR and would be right at them at the gen they were working on.
