I'm not, im throwing very powerful things out there to showcase that "it can only be used once so its ok" is poor logic.
I mean everyone knows that not all one use things are the same in terms of power. Just for you, how about "It can only be used once and it's not as impactful as a key or mori"?

WHY?
this is my experience as a lv16/17 killer
first game amazing, started with people in my rank, i got 4 red emblems, i was so proud of myself.
2nd game rubbish, games get worse the more i play. lets put me with lv10's and 11's, ooh i know how to make your experience more fun, now let's throw in lv7's and 8's?
first of all the matchmaking is horrible and then you get into a game and now it's time to catch those survivors.
now let's use some shock therapy, why? when most of the time it doesn't reach them?
get insta blinded even though torches are not suppose to work like that anymore?
lovely gen rushing! a gen or two seems to get done in which seems 10 seconds to me at the beginning of game
lovely blendettes that you only see rushing to the exit
lv8 meg's and nea's running circles around me. clearly you would say ignore them walk away in which i do do. what happens they come running back egging me on. give a little chase, last 3 gens complete
all the dev's seem to do is create more frutrated customers instead of happy ones
also when ever i press static blast, it never seems to do anything, unless i'm doing it wrong
advice on how to use him would be appreciated and yes i did write this in a haste.
You hold down static blast. It's not a press.
You sound like you're just using shock therapy whenever, there are specific times to use and not use it. I'd recommend finding doc tutorials on youtube.
The insta-blind thing is a bug rn.

Never really understood the whole "only works one time" argument. Some of the strongest things in the game only work 1 time. Keys only let you open hatch 1 time and a mori only kills you 1 time.
Imagine equating moris and keys to unbreakable. WeirdChamp

Well it's annoying to go against when using the now popular end game builds and you know what the devs do to mechanics they find annoying.
You're jumping the gun. They have to nerf killer end game builds first because devs are exclusively survivor sided /s

skip ahead to 6:30 the beginning is about monetization and that is not what this post is about.
now before you point them out, YES they said they MIGHT look at DS and how it can be abused AND they will be LOOKING INTO toolboxes, but still base gen repair speed is a problem even without toolboxes, and unless they nerf toolboxes to literally nothing, toolboxes will still speed up gen repairs, just not as fast as they currently do.
the devs saying that "just let the outer gens go on maps like temple of purgation" so basically, start the game with a handicap, and the survivors having a head start on their objective..... if that is not survivor bias talk I don't know what is.
their excuses for not changing stuff like hex ruin into a non hex perk is STUPID, their reason is because "its a hag perk and all her perks are hexes" why should that be a good enough reason to not balance this perk to be in a better slot? makes no sense at all
devs are survivor biased and they have been showing it a lot more lately
Feel free to go protect 2 corner gens on the opposite end of the map instead of the potential 3 gen in the middle of the map. Just don't be surprised when you lose.

Not all cases can be because of camping. You could see a survivor who is about to hook bomb just as you hook, you hit them because they don't commit till they are hit then hooked boy DH to take the second hit and BT procs.
Wait a second and insure you hit the right person instead of just turning your brain off and pressing m1 as soon as you're off cooldown?

Or if you're a brainlet just wait until BL 1 lmao. It's funny when they back noed which literally impacts the game no matter what survivors do but when it comes to BT and DS: "It's braindead invincibility smh please rework"
Bu-bu-but you can CLEANSE ALL 5 TOTEMS WITHOUT KNOWLEDGE ON HOW MANY WERE CLEANSED BY YOUR TEAMMATES! IT HAS COUNTERS! Unlike BT and DS which both get solved by just not being a d*ck or waiting for the timer to run out. Oh wait

@Waffleyumboy said:

While were at it, I don't like any killer except for wraith. Can we delete all the other killers and make wraith burns take 1 sec to do?

Try not camping and you'll find out that BT isn't that big of a detriment to you.

You're missing the point.
Unbreakable and DS aren't an insurance policy for another perk. They are insurance policies by themselves. You shouldn't have to run one perk as an insurance policy for another, using two perk slots.
Unbreakable is an insurance policy for the killer slugging and not letting me use DS. It still applies.

You know whats also not fun? Survivors stacking 16 2nd chance perks. Some of which can be used multiple times per trial (looking at you Dead Hard, and Borrowed Time). But we don't see the devs care a wet fart about them, because its only the killer having to deal with that bullshit.
Calling dead hard a second-chance perk is kinda inaccurate. The survivor could've rocked any other exhaustion perk and they wouldn't be in that situation where they had to use dead hard. It's an exhaustion perk like everything else.

They actually did say they didn't want slow down perks to have as much synergy. On top of that, the suggestion was "run ruin, with pop as an insurance policy". Like...what do survivors have to run with borrowed time and DS for their insurance policy? By suggesting that we even NEED other perks as an insurance policy, they're outright admitting that Ruin is garbage now.
What do you mean? Unbreakable and DS are both an insurance policy. There's a chance it never gets used. There's a chance that they do get used. When using both, one can backup the other in case killer slugs or decides to tunnel and pickup.

i would say that needs to happen really close together. i dont WANT to use slowdown perks. i feel i have to. i would rather use perks that have some fun involved.
Well they can't do everything at once or it would be a clusterf*ck. Gotta test each piece individually to make sure it would work imo.
-
@toxic_clown said:
i am kinda sad about them saying theyre gonna try to remove synergy from slowdown perks. like boi, we use them for a reason. dont ask how to nerf them. ask how to make it not necessary.
If they can lower the amount of slowdown synergies there are, they can work on changing different aspects of the game to make it last longer/ make killers do better

Mmm yes of course. He totally was looking for constructive responses.

Well guys its been fun. Or it used to be at least. But now im just sick of this cesspool of a game. Red rank killer ques are short but the games are stress inducing because i have to play my hardest every single killer game to avoid getting gen rushed. Its not fun anymore having even more pressure put on me by the devs when i play killer. So then i switch to survivor. That way i can wait 10+ minutes for a lobby where i either get slugged, camped, or i green/grey rank teammates. Its not enough fun for the amount of time i wait. Even when i play with 1 or more friends the queue times just go up. The devs have shown they lack the capacity to listen to the killers at all and so now the game is virtually unplayable on both sides for different reasons for me. So im uninstalling to make room for other games i can play and have fun consistently. Bye everyone and i hope the game gets better. I really do.

He can't because it didn't happen.
They just simply said they like this ruin since you can't combine it with pop because 4 slow down perks aren't fun for anyone and that future slow down perks would be designed with this in mind.

Letting the outer gens go makes the map smaller in a way
Being mindfull of wich gens to patrol is actually really good advice for killers strugling with pressure
The only reason to go to the outer gens is at the beginning of the match if you think survivor spawned there
You are not giving up 40% of your objective. Your objective isn't defend 5 gens it's sacrifice as many survivors and that works best if you make your patrol area as smal as possible
Once again really good advice that killers actually should listen too
Nah, obviously every killer main is the best and there isn't a SINGLE thing they can do to improve their playstyle. /s

@Well_Placed_HexTotem said:
I was just watching the live stream, what is this nonsense? Many of the maps are complete trash, many of the killers lack the needed mobility to play in this new gen rush meta and the answer is let two gens off in the distance go? This is actually worse than when the other guy said to go play Civilization. And they said it with such straight faces. I can’t fathom being so disconnected to something you presumably spend so much time working on.
So the doodoo M1 killers are basically supposed to just give up 40% of their objective because why bother balancing killers or maps? I guess it would be too frustrating for survivors to play on maps that are balanced. Extra LOL for when the dude whose job is literally to balance the perks in the game, didn’t even know Leader doesn’t affect gens any more.
I expected absolutely nothing but the typical spin job from this Q&A and yet they somehow still found a way to disappoint.
I mean go ahead and patrol that one generator on the opposite end of the map instead of the potential 3 gen if you'd like to, just don't be surprised when you lose.

I like more skill check chance with a smaller skill check zone to compensate.

Dude, mind breaker is an abomination, it's really hard for them screw up a perk so terrible. Wouldn't be surprised if they managed it though.
In the case of mindbreaker, it would probably be a rework instead of just statistical buffs (also known as taking more time to buff than other perks), hence why it would be on the backburner.

Just because they didn't mention those perks doesn't mean they think they're good. Some perks are easier to buff than others.

You can literally stop Survivors from vaulting or dropping a pallet provided you don't get dedicated.
I'd recommend looking up Doctor tutorials on when and where to shock people. You sound like you're just using it any chance you can, which is what you shouldn't do.

Starting out as a fresh Survivor is harder than starting out as a fresh Killer imo. Depends on the killer of course, but anyone can M1 survivors who don't know where to go or what to do to avoid it.

It's 80/20 rule[1]. Devs might try to account for all possible situations, e.g. reward survivors for long chases according to how they were downed (NOED, chainsaw, M1, etc.), how many pallets there were on the map during the chase, how many gens got completed. But it's almost impossible to do it right.
But if it were simply based on number of hooks (not kills) for a killer and on escape rate for a survivor, it would almost always (80%) be correct. Which is more than fine for this game.
It used to be that way for killer and to a certain extent survivors haha.

@aurum_exe said:
Well, i play killer as well but mainly i play survivor and i kind of agree with his opinion. Instead of nerfing SWF (there are many solution that could be applied to solve the problem), they nerfed the only one perk who was really helpful for some low map-pressure killers. But i might add that good killers in DbD, never used ruin even before the nerf.
I played some games yersterday, mostly of them the killer was running Corrupt Intervention with no ruin at all, and blasted the entire squad anyway. Apply pressure doesn't mean you have to be anywere on the map at the same time. Some very good Billy for example, apply the strategy of protecting the generators in one side of the map, and it works. But i agree that against SWF is really frustrating and there is so less you can do, except mori'em or patrolling the hooks etc.
One rapid solution to SWF is when you're in lobby and see they have more than one flashlight or more than one toolbox, then leave the lobby straight away. Many red rank killers do like that.
They don't deserve to be in red ranks then.

And grab's. Halfway through a grab animation it just ends and the survivor gets away with basically a half time stun on the killer. Feels great that the survivor makes a mistake as to sit on a generator too long, and just gets away for free.
DBD is abusive to me but I have Stockholm syndrome.

I think productivity/efficiency is a good way to go. Obviously the more skilled players can run killers better but that isn't the only aspect of the game. knowing what your priorities are during every part of the trial and knowing what to do to give all your teammates the best chance to escape during the trial are most important. Like knowing that getting your teammates off hooks is more important than doing gens, how to take up as much of the killer's time during a chase given the resources you have, knowing that doing gens is more efficient than self-caring. then knowing some of the more specific scenarios like when healing is needed or not needed, whether or not you need to cleanse NOED if your teammates are fine without it cleansed and it would waste time to cleanse it, How to get a teammate out of a sticky situation (being tunneled/camped). Making or adjusting emblems around this would make it more skill based. maybe giving people worse emblems if they go a long period of time without earning bloodpoints or if they are earing less bloodpoints per minute then you know they are being less efficient?
None of these things can be calculated except for the bloodpoint thing, although those parameters WOULD reflect skill.
The system can't know that you got the teammate out of a sticky situation, all it knows is a safe unhook was made. Healing isn't as important as doing gens in a specific situation can't really be calculated either. What can be measured to determine if the gen is more important than the heal? The system can't be logical about it. It can only see the stats and award you for getting points because you did that action is some shape or form.
-
@NullEXE said:
Like what is with that? If there is a survivor between the Killer and a pallet. The Pallet shouldn't stun the Killer. Also what is with being like a meter away from a pallet, and it still stuns you? This has been a problem for a while, and never has been fixed.
I mean what's with a huntress hatchet being thrown next to you and counting as a hit?
DBD is hitbox and latency city.

Playing as killer now requires you to sweat super hard to win. Survivor mains wouldn’t know that though because all they have to do is sit on a gen for 80 seconds. That’s why you see the comments saying “git good”

The question is, when will they adjust it? It took freddy nearly 2 years before he even got what he deserve.. If the problem comes from the survivors side, expect a fixed immediately.. A week is even considered too long.. But if there's a problem on the Killer it took months and even years(Just look at freddy) unless of course its a nerf, Just look how they nerfed Oni twice after PTB and a week later.. Ruin is not an unhealthy perk.. In fact it even teaches you how to hit Great Skill Check, and probably defines your skill to the rest of the team.. But now Ruin is gone, do you even think survivors will even have a challenge since all they do now is Gen Rushing on Red Ranks? While killers especially M1 Killers are having a hard time going from one gen to the other especially on Big ass Maps..
I meant unhealthy in terms of it just was a game ender for bad players and not even a problem for good players. That's not a healthy perk for the game.
You can't outskill your way from suffering from the effects of sloppy butcher, etc. Everyone gets affected the same when hit. The new ruin is now in line with that type of gameplay (which is healthier for the game).
The next move the devs make will make or break this situation though. Hopefully maps change or something. But as someone who plays both sides, I think it was a good idea to change ruin for the game's health as a whole. There shouldn't be a perk that affects people differently depending on how many hours they have in the game.
