I'd say then maybe such a change can encourage teammates into playing a little better as opposed to just assuming that a safety net can just easily take care of things.
Have you been in solo queue? It's all about hook bombing to get those limited altruism points and nothing else.
I don't have to bring DS when I SWF because I know my friends are competent.

According to the usage rate, the chances of him getting dsed is bigger than the one of him avoiding it and again, the perk still requires no skill to be used
It requires no skill to immediately smack someone off a hook as well. At least the person who has DS has to hit a skillcheck instead of pressing m1.

Except that's not necessarily dominating the game. Sometimes the killer just gets lucky and suddenly gets to build some momentum. And while you're getting DS'd, those other two survivors are being saved. In that moment, the killer loses all their momentum. They're back to having no one on the hook.
Deactivating after one other survivor has been hooked could be abused, but deactivating after two other survivors have been hooked... that would be reasonable.
But if nothing else it should deactivate upon the survivor starting an action like repairing gens or going for a hook save. A killer shouldn't be DS'd when they grab a survivor making a hook save. If that survivor with DS is healthy when they decide to make a save in the killer's face, there's no way for anyone other than a one-hit-down killer to stop them.
Slugging tho. Even more momentum.

Do you think getting ds'd after NOT TUNNELING ..like dude i hook someone else and then i get ds'd regardless LOL
You guys should remove the DS possibilty if killers hook someone else .
Keep track of who gets saved. Or if it's too much mental gymnastics for you, use make your choice as a built-in 60 sec timer so you can switch your brain off.

What is backing up your theory of the perk being useless in high ranks? Strange isn't it i mean the perk that is useless was used the most in high ranks. Do you really want to tell me that this perk being used the most there was useless? I kinda doubt it. Do gens still get done? Yes ofc they do otherwise the perk would be broken af, but it slowed down the game regardless due to no great skillcheck progression.
I agree on new players, however it was the least used in these ranks and quite rare to stumble into it because you know matchmaking should rank new players together. Ofc people will face stuff like that when they do team up with red ranked friends but should we balance around that? I dont think that this is wise in any kind or way.
Show me other games that do balance around people who have no clue of the game.
It would do nothing at high ranks when the red ranks actually mean something. And people brought ruin because they felt like they needed it, when in reality corrupt is just better. At least this new ruin affects people who can and can't hit great skill checks alike. I had a game on the Thompson house where old ruin would've been useless because I hit my greats, but I got interrupted in the house with a 90'd gen and it went back to 0 after I got off the hook.

Is this anti tunneling or anti "dominating" perk? Make up your mind. You cant have a perk that will solve all your problems with toxic killers.
I mean it doesn't solve all my problems if they just wait a minute or restrict their greed.

Almo told killers to tunnel in another thread.
Also you don't need to tell me what to do, however, new killer players will not know how to handle it and lose the game because of these two. You can use both perks diffrently from the intended way in order to waste so much time of the killer again it varies depending on how much hours the killer actually has which according to you is bad design.
New players will already not know how to extend loops, etc. You don't need to make their survival chance 0% with old ruin. It's overkill in low ranks or useless at high ranks.

If unhooker gets downed right away there is someting done wrong.
That might only happen with chainsaw guys or some addons on others.
This is not tunneling, but camping and its another story.
In these cases i would recomend Kindred.
They got tunneled off hook. It was a tunnel. They deserve to use their DS.

What stops the unhooked from getting healed by someone else while the other person is being chased, downed, and hooked?
Nothing stops it, but nothing guaranties it. DS is an insurance policy against your own teammates more than the killer lmao

I meant killer players, they are affected by these 2 perks and handle it diffrently with their amount of hours. Time for change for both of them?
They have the ability to handle them. Neither are unavoidable. Slug and don't tunnel.
Ruin is just there until they find a totem. It has the potential to never be countered if it's in a really good totem spot. It has the potential to get wasted immediately. Either way, bad game design.
-
@Shaai1 said:
Once killer focus on someone else a.k.a unhooker its not tunneling.
If killer is still able to catch even the unhooked one after downing unhooker, its unhooked one mistake, he has enough time to run away.
It is just not tunneling anymore.
We're talking about the guy getting unhooked getting immediately downed and then the unhooker gets hooked first. Then the guy who originally went down gets hooked again while he was tunneled. No DS.

@DepressedClownMain said:

DS is the literal definition of a perk that requires no skill since you get downed and are rewarded for it
Don't tunnel :)

@DepressedClownMain said:

The argument is that skill should change how you are affected by game mechanics, and "new" players should be punished for being bad.
They already are by dying extremely early at loops and not knowing what to do against certain killers. Don't need to rub unnecessary salt in the wounds.
-
@Waffleyumboy said:
Too many people are calling for DS to deactivate when another survivor is hooked. This would enable tunneling and make the perk useless.
Survivor gets unhooked, killer downs them, killer downs unhooker, unhooker gets hooked, unhooked gets hooked aka tunneled.
"B-But I still get hit with DS after hooking 2 people omg"
So you're complaining about... dominating the game?

/BT/DS/
They pretty much do that exactly and a few others as well.
BT I completely disagree with, DS is barely skillful with the skill check. Neither are close to the extent of old ruin.

Are you really saying that survivors making mistakes and getting punished for it is a bad design? You realise how absurd that sentence is right? Let FPS games remove snipers because people who can hit the shots will be punished by the slow reload/low dps.
This argument is extremely flawed. At least bad snipers can still go for body shots. In this case, they literally get damaged for hitting a shot, just because it wasn't a headshot.

Odd when people explain how to bait dead hard o.O
Imo you use it to correct a mistake in a chase, you were to greedy, dh, make it to x. Dodging hits with it and the dedicated servers is too much a gamble.
So care to explain how you bait this exactly?
Bait dead hard are for the people who still use it to try and dodge a hit (there are still quite a few!)

Look how great it is, players getting punished for not being able to do certain thinks
A perk shouldn't affect people differently based on their hours in the game. That's bad game design and it's unhealthy for the game.
-
@DepressedClownMain said:

It is a perk, not a think you must activate. Byt since you made the no effort argument, should ds only activate when you were chased by the killer for 3 minutes? 5? And dead hard, surely it takes a lot of effort to use it right?
I played a ton of survivor to know that point is absolute bs
At least I have to press "e" to use deadhard. Can't say the same about old ruin.

Good afternoon, I'm looking my game and is not the one i bought some months ago, actually Freddy and the Doctor are really different about what you offered me at the beginning when you sold me this game. I am also looking there is a perk that i was using (Hex: Ruin) its not the same one when i payed you the game and basically I gave you my money due to i like all those products. Is there a way to receive all my money back due to what I bought is not on the game any longer?
It is legal to remove things that final costumer got by paying real money.
I'm also looking all people is angry due to RUIN perk and they are right, survivors are doing engines in 30 seconds. Please let me know how to open a case to receive all my money back or receive an update with all perks and characters i payed.
Please advise.
No.

That's the difference between how players play, some players make use of all aspect of a perk while some just use it for one aspect, if you're not smart enough to make use of a perk to it's full advantage, i don"t think you have the right to sully it
Self care is so slow that you would never get that off if the killer kept on you. Maybe if you used a med kit or syringe. But self care will not make a difference in that situation lol.

And I’m fairly confident that more than nobody would want it.
I don’t like hate fighting stealth killers and flashlights, but I’m sure there are those who enjoy that type of gameplay.
That's like giving yourself no mither for a bigger challenge except you don't have a choice in the matter and the whole team is affected. No thanks.

- You can destroy hexes, and now there are 2 of them so it is easier to find them.
- Killer has to use 2 perks slots, so he has only 2 perks if you destroy his hex totems.
- Killer can chase only one person at the time, so you could still do a gen if your friend is being chased.
The devs don't want garbage slow down synergies like that anymore. The game would become more boring than it already is. No.

You accept the low risk by crossing the road... Yeah he accepts the risk but it doesn't mean it's fair. Your analogy doesn't work at all here because if we are going by the logic of the situation it would mean drivers aren't punished for running someone over. Let's reword that analogy to make it make sense.
Your accepting the risk of getting ran over by crossing the road when it looks safe but if a driver speeds round the corner and mows you down for crossing the road and getting in the way then he's punished so the killer should be as well...
Do I really need to spell out that the driver didn't get punished and extend the analogy even further? The driver got away. There you go.

Why not? It's assurance to reset when you ended a chase, it can also be used to prompt killers to give chase as they rather not see you get healed within proximity, it also prompts a killer to break a pallet and gives you distance by using selfcare infront of a pallet, there are many usefull uses to it.
Using self care in front of a pallet isn't tactical. It's BM lmao

What a load of cr*p. Any experienced player could see what was wrong with the game, which is why 80% of killers ran ruin at red ranks. The game is already a "clusterf*ck" because the incompetent balance team rushed out a change, which removed the band-aid that helped fix outdated game mechanics.
Then they double down on refusing to fix the issue and even say they're "looking into" the other slowdown perks killers have. That's not the mindset of a development team that wants to fix the core issues of their base game.
But let's put that aside for a second. The devs have the community participate in vanilla games all the time. That should've given them plenty of info on what was wrong and needed fixing.
I mean you can call it a load of crap, but that's the optimal way to make changes to a video game. Feel free to make your own if you think you know all the answers lol

I agree they shouldn’t be abusable, but I’m saying they shouldn’t not buff a perk because it might be.
If it gets abused by such a small portion of the roster, then those killers should be adjusted.
Why should more than 80% of the killers get a gimped perk, instead of 2 or 3 others getting adjusted?
If you're still talking about the ruin change, it would've sucked no matter who you played against. It's important to stress: The higher mobility killer thing is not the main reason it didn't happen. It's because nobody wants perma regression in the game with no counter.
