well I believe killer is fine, however adjusting the survivor emblems to better display your productivity and skill would be a start. whether that's just making the thresholds higher or reworking or adding different emblems is up to them to decide.
What would they do though? Any ideas on how to more accurately depict a Survivor's skill?

Isn't that the reason why ruin was nerf in the first place? Because baby survivors can't adapt to skill checks? Why should always be the Killer who should adapt on situations while survivors gets it ez? Yeah I'm a balance player who plays both Survivor and Killer, But I'm posting this topic on my Killer Perspective.. Its ridiculous and insane...
I mean do you deny that ruin in general was an unhealthy perk for the game?
Now that ruin (which only really affected the bad survivors, making getting into the game even more frustrating, while barely even mattering to good survs) is out of the way, devs can see how fast games can actually go and adjust the game accordingly.

I mentioned it above as well, but getting a perfectly accurate matchmaking system is never going to be possible in any game. However the matchmaking system currently in dbd can be improved on greatly and to a noticeable degree.
Not disagreeing with ya there. I just don't know what they'd do aside from making killer-specific emblem systems so other killers can actually climb the ranks (plague, etc).

No actually.. Because it gave time for survivors to find the hex totem.. That itself gave M1 killers to go from one generator to the next and hit or down survivor before the 1st gen is even done.. Now, especially on Big ass Maps, 2-3 Gens are done within a minute even before you find your 1st Survivor, Which is ridiculous and Insane at the same time..
I never looked for the hex totem. EZ Hex skillchecks all day long baybeeee.

Probably they don't play too match red rank matches.. But this problem only occurred after Ruin nerf.. Killers who uses Ruin in Red Ranks before its nerf doesn't get 2-3 Popping gen in a minute, Now, It's very common lately especially with a squad of 2-3 Toolboxes(4 is the worst).
I mean if you played in red ranks you'd know most red ranks work through ruin in the same amount of time anyways.

I don’t wanna hear anything from survivors unless you have something positive to say. If you think this ruin change is positive to the game then I don’t respect your opinion because you’re smoking something. It’s useless now. The perk is absolutely useless. So much weaker than what it was. And even worse, I can’t use pop goes the weasel with it. Because once they get off the gens, it’s damaged. So then right when I leave, they can get right back on. I can’t use the perk til they get rid of ruin. Going against survive with friends who are ranks 1-4 is impossible. Especially on maps like autohaven and Macmillan. The amount of killers playing is about to drop baddd. My ruin is op but i get smacked in the face with borrowed, ds, etc. The only hope of winning is using a top tier killer w noed. And you can’t say “well just apply pressure”. It’s nearly impossible to apply pressure all over the map to all 4 survivors. This is insane.
I don't want to hear anything unless it's positive
Proceeds to be negative.

Dedicated servers by design increase the interaction latency between killer and survivor, by putting a 3rd party between them. So its the logical consequence that hits gets more questionable for survivor.
So unless the developers tell killers to go f themselves and make hit detection serverside, essentially crippling high precision killers like Huntress or Nurse, there is nothing the developers can do.
Sounds good to me lol

Have you read my post? I'm posted this topic to point out the unfair nerfing of Ruin.. Since devs based their nerf on the total usage of ruin on the red ranks.. Since they based it on how many players use it on the red ranks, Then it's proper to address them that 95% of the Survivors on the red ranks uses these meta perk as well, therefore should be nerf.. And even If pointed out the real reason, The Devs will have no idea what I'm talking about because they themselves don't play on the Red Ranks..
There was more to the nerf than just "hur dur most killers were using it in red ranks"
I don't have much faith in the devs but cmon bruh. They aren't that surface level.

I am actually posting a topic which does not address the real reason why Gen Pops left and right in a minute. I'm posting this topic so the Devs will give equal treatment of nerfing(of course if they'll listen). Since they based their nerf on the usage of the perk, then why won't they nerf survivor's perk then, Since 95% of the Survivors who are on the Red Ranks uses DH, Adrenaline and DS? Because even If i point out the real problem of the situation, The Devs have no any idea what I'm talking about..
Mmm yes equal treatment. Survivors never get nerfed. Keep living in your echo chamber.

@JasonisLife said:
The title is the exact point I'm going to make. Although the ranking system seems to be accurate for killers, your survivor rank means next to nothing. as long as you aren't crab walking to the corner of the map whenever you hear a heartbeat or insisting on self-caring every time you are injured you will pip. what does this mean? It means that your rank isn't displaying your skill level, but rather how much you play the game. If that's the case why even have a ranking system implemented? And now that they changed the reset so that you only reset back one "color" players who reach red rank will reset to rank 5 and it will only take them roughly 20 games to get back to rank 1. And as the months pass more and more players will join the people resetting down to only rank 5 which will only help further unbalance the queues. So the issue is that one ranking system accurately measures skill (killer) while one doesn't (survivor) so a couple things happen.
1) survivors that really aren't that good at the game get gifted pips and reach high ranks, which leads to them getting stomped by killers who deserve to be in high ranks.
2) since every survivor is red rank there is no way for the game to determine who is actually good and who isn't so they just throw games together with people who have similar ranks but not similar skill so the bad survivors unintentionally sandbag everyone in the game, which leads to bad quality games.
3) since the top of the ranking system will have so many people due to the easy ranking, mid skill level killers (8-11) will be forced to be matched with red rank survivors as there are simply not enough players in their rank bracket again due to how easy it is to rank. and then as I mentioned in point 2 there is no way to tell if those players will stomp the poor killer or be too easy to catch, and either option really isn't that enjoyable.
I'm sure everyone has experienced 1 of the 3 points I just noted and I bet it will continue to get worse as months go on. Hopefully BHVR notices and cares enough to do something about it because it is becoming very frustrating to play the game. I want to be challenged, when I'm playing killer and survivor and right now it's rare for me to find a game where all the players both killer and survivor in my game are of equal skill, I know it never going to be perfect, but the current system is so far away from an acceptable level right now in my opinion.
What's the solution? make a ranking system that truly reflects skill (duh). It will take some experimenting to get it right and will take some time, but I want BHVR to show us they are making an effort to improve it. Let me know what you guys agree and disagree with and try to help draw attention to this rising issue.
There will never be a ranking system that can accurately measure skill because of how RNG-based and snowball-based games are. A potential million different things that could've happened cannot be accounted for.

Nah not loops, I’m talking about god loops and how survs use dead hard to further prolong those loops
Any of the killers that circumvent god loops (which I already listed) would work.
Also bamboozle.
Also picking a different target who's working on a generator.
-
@kinderjazen said:
I feel like killer is already a oppressed class and is the least played role and in some situations the killler can do anything and the survivors can just loop ya for days while they t bag and flash light click, it’s even worse for new killers due to the poor match making like rank 20s getting Matched with rank 9s
I mean I'd hope killer was the least played role because 4 survivors and 1 killer are needed for a game to start.
I suggest looking up videos on how to run loops correctly as a killer or just play a killer that circumvents loops one way or another (Huntress, Spirit, Nurse, Freddy).
I didn't know BM = oppression lol (Killers can BM too btw)
Matchmaking sucks for both sides in the highs and lows. Not just a killer issue.

Yes, due to non red rank survivors also getting paired with the red rank killer just because of their one red rank friend. Might also be why many low rank killers can't get games either except replace red with purple and green.

I don't see why you are complaining though. Gens already get repaired RIDICULOUSLY fast, the ruin is about to be gone. Yet...you're STILL upset just because a killer has the ability to pressure generators? What exactly do you want? For him to go back told Freddy? To be an M1 only killer? To have no power at all?
He has gen pressure, so you don't like him. That's all I'm seeing here. Survivor is more than just holding M1 when you're facing Freddy, and it's almost like it's too much for some of you guys. Like, I honestly don't understand why you want everything you guys refuse to learn to play against changed.
And then there's the whole "no skill required" bit. I don't think survivors get to criticize anything skill related. Not when BT, DS, toolboxes, insta-mettles, small game (which works on snares, AND dream pallets, by the way) the hatch, and flashlights exist. Actually, flashlights are one of the few things that take skill for survivors, so I take that one back.
You have all the tools at your disposal to make the game fun for yourself. It is not up to the killer to play in a way that amuses you. They aren't clowns there for your amusement.
I don't think you're capable of seeing another opinion other than your own. I'm just gonna end the conversation here and save my breath.

And? He earned the pop. He just hooked someone after a chase with two hits. I don't see the issue. He can't spam this ability either. It has a long cool down. This really does sound more and more like "I don't want to adapt, so I'd rather ask for a nerf instead".
It balanced, lol
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1010272#Comment_1010272
They already rock all those perks and use the commodious. None of which do anything against slugging in the long term. As for the commodious toolbox, those will likely get the insta-heal treatment soon. As they should.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1010273#Comment_1010273
It actually does. You said "if you're fully healed". Not being healed is a choice you as the survivor make. It's a risk you take. So, accept the risk, or don't complain about it. lol
I don't know if you actually read what I say tbh.
I said "I just feel like he has a little too much and ALL of it just revolves on making the game slow to a crawl. That's why I find him unfun."
Also many killers earn a pop but they don't get to just TP to a almost done gen and pop it.
Once again, the cooldown is significantly reduced because it goes faster when people are in dream state, and most of the game EVERYONE is in dream state because of how fast the timer is.

I don't remember the date but it was in a QnA stream. They better have figured it out with this mid chapter patch. And they better figure out queue times too. Lobby simulator is only fun for so long.

It's not for free. It take a few second to fully complete the TP, and it has a long cooldown. It also gives a huge "FREDDY IS COMING" right in front of your eyes. Clocks are MEANT to spawn on the other side of the map. It's called balance.
It's not Freddy that is OP, it's you having all the tools to combat him fairly, and not knowing/wanting to learn how to use them.
Alright let's ignore his kill rates and how long those games go on for.
The "FREDDY IS COMING" right in front of my eyes doesn't matter. He just stopped a nearly completed gen while being on the other side of the entire map. And the cooldown is significantly reduced because everyone is always asleep, so that really doesn't matter much.
But nah, it must be only me right?

But they did act here, they softened the matchmaking restrictions: Now rank 15 killers are getting matched against red rank survs.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1010186#Comment_1010186
Nobody said you weren't allowed to have an opinion. I personally just asked you a question.
- Freddy's dream snare hitboxes are the same as trappers trap hitboxes.
- So, the ability to apply gen pressure bothers you. Okay. Let me ask - what's skillful about looping and holding M1 all game? What's skillful about borrowed time or DS? And it's not for free. If Freddy has pop, he just chased, caught and hooked someone. He earned that pop.
- ALL the killers have the same lunge range. If you really want to talk about matching how things look, we should go back to only being able to unhook survivors from the front of the hook. Even more, did you know pallets don't actually have to be touching killers for them to actually stun the killer? Don't be so one sided. For balance reason, they all have the same lunge range.
You do have a different opinion, and that's okay. I'm just of the opinion that judging by what you're saying, you simply don't like a killer that you can't bully and genrush like any other M1 killer.
I think you missed the part where I said I was fine with going against any other top tier killers.
I can walk past a dream snare and still trigger it. Either make the visual bigger or reduce the hitbox.
I'm aware all killers have the same lunge range. It just looks terrible to get hit out of thin air.
Scrap the pop, even just tping to a 90'd gen for free (because time is reduced based on how many people are asleep and that sleep timer is already really fast) is lame and doesn't require skill. Maybe if clocks didn't ALWAYS spawn on the other end of the map and your timer was paused during chases I'd be okay with it.

You bet they are aware, this is one of the most discussed issues.
They haven't acknowledged the reason for the long survivor queue times, however. If it was just because of the SWF changes and the easy ranking up for survivors, they could have solved this weeks ago by just lifting the matchmaking restrictions.
I feel like it is that reason exactly.
And BHVR could've done a lot of things weeks ago, they just usually don't.

Wow so unfun, please nerf.
I didn't know I wasn't allowed to have an opinion anymore without the consensus being that I want "easy killers".
I don't mind going against any of the top tier killers. A big part of that is having games not last forever. Another part is Freddy's dream snare hitboxes not even matching the visual of them. Another part is Freddy just being able to tp to a 90'd gen and pop it immediately for free without skill involved. Another part of it is Freddy's lunge hitbox not matching his actual lunge.
Sorry I have a different opinion on what's "fun" to play against.

Hmmm... let me think. Adrenaline, endgame perk. Instant health state for potentially 4 survivors. Borrowed time, infinite uses... might as well just give em the infinity gauntlet while were at it. Meanwhile, ruin countered through cleanse. Noed counterable if cleansed. Bloodwarden 99% gates and wait till convenient to open them... yeah. Perfectly fair and balanced. Just peachy.
You're comparing apples to oranges.
Adrenaline awards a survivor for lasting until the last generator popped (fyi, surviving is their main objective)
Blood warden (and NoED, etc) rewards killers for failing to stop the survivors (fyi, killing is their main objective)
Don't like BT? Don't camp. Or use insidious. Or wait for the BT timer to run out before swinging. Or hit the rescuer, let the unhook happen, and down the rescuer.
-
@Calabrum said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/999077#Comment_999077
Ummm, how is it unfair? If every survivor 99% gates the perk is useless. Why should survivors be allowed to dictate endgame even if a killer is losing? "Endgame perks aren't supposed to be strong". You must be joking. But I mean if you prefer more people running noed then fine I guess. In addition, I suppose it's also fine that the survivors who lost the match can find a hatch and or bring/find key.
The perk is a gamble. Don't like the chance that it won't even be used? Don't use it. Willing to take the risk? Use it.
Also, killer can start the end game themselves if they really wanted to :)
