Crouching does have multiple meanings in the game; one of which is very derogatory and is specifically the meaning I'm referring to. The rest are just due to the limited emotes in game.

The people who use it to taunt are generally either children, have the mentality of a child, are having a really bad day and did something out of character, or could just be a miserable person.

Regardless of how people try to reframe it as just 'a video game' the fact remains there is still a person behind the screen and saying it's just a video game is no different than when people saying 'it's just words' or 'lighten up' to someone who is a victim of bullying.

I'm gonna have to disagree here, there's a big difference between getting tbagged and getting insulted in post game chat for eg; bc unless they explain why they tbagged in post game chat (in which case they're reportable if they're bullies) the killer is the one interpretating the tbags in the end, I'm not saying it's all a big misunderstanding and everyone is being nice bc that's obviously not the case, but i feel there's quite a difference between if go in thinking "ah they're taunting me bc we're playing a game against eachother" and being midly annoyed about it or thinking "ah they'd be insulting me if they could bc they want to bully me over a game" and getting hurt over it. Also, even watching streams & videos of popular killer mains (survivor mains too, but to a lesser extent in my experience), they regularly insult survivors as 'game banter' and i've never seen anyone claim it was toxic behavior, toxicity is very subjective in the world of video games. I genuinely believe how you feel about tbags depends on how you interpret them, I very rarely feel like the survivors are actively trying to bully me bc i don't take tbags as insults, but also i don't tbag bc I know some people feel strongly about them.

And anyways to get back on track of the post, even admitting survivors tbagging are all being toxic jerks, it doesn't change the fact there's as many toxic killers. Ultimately there's no doubt both sides are equally bad in my mind (but you could argue killers can be more affected bc in a 4v1 it'll feel more personal, mostly if mutliple survivors are being jerks) and I don't understand why people make all of these us v them posts when neither "them" or "us" is the only side ruining the other's experience. We're all miserable.

Well there's a small difference between tunneling and sluging in order to win the game and taunting in order to annoy the killer

in the case of tunneling and sluging for the sake of annoying others then yes I do agree with you

Tbagging as taunting in a pvp game is nothing new or worth screaming "toxic" over, it's not like they're hurling slurs in a voicechat. Also the vast majority of killers who tunnel / camp as their game strategy (aka from the beginning of the game) don't actually need to do it bc they're not in high MMR no matter how much they tell themselves they only lose bc they're going against a sweat swf on comms (but that's a discussion for an other day).

Teabagging is no more just pressing a button repeatedly than telling someone to f... themselves is just saying words. Technically correct if you completely ignore the intended meaning.

Tbagging doesn't have an "intended meaning", you're literally making the meaning up by yourself and getting mad over it... it's the only way besides emotes and nodding (that are also considered toxic) for the survivors to express themselves, i don't tbag bc ppl act like i insulted their mom over it but everytime i consider doing it or have done it in the past was to say "good hit / that shouldn't have hit" "bye / ggs / thanks / please" "lol" "look / come here" or whatever, even if the majority of people are using it to taunt you it's literally a pvp game and not that deep. As long as they keep the taunting in game you're just being dramatic if it actually upsets you to the point of wanting to quit the game (and in that case you should definitely stop playing it tbh).

  • Survivor: Jake Park

    Killer to go against: Nurse

Killer to play: depends on my mood, probably PH, Trapper or Huntress

  • Honestly it kinda irks me how most healing speed boost perks don't work with self-care; deliverance / autodidact / we'll make it / self-care would be a sick combo haha

Maybe if healing speed boosts worked for self-care to a lesser extent (like half the speed boost) it wouldn't be op

  • Crazy how half of the forum's posts are people preaching "killers' job isn't to make survivors have fun" while the other half is posts like these complaining that survivors aren't fun to go against...

People just go around encouraging killers to tunnel and slug to "make their own fun" while claiming survivors pressing a button repeatedly makes killers quit the game; i don't know if it's really funny or quite depressing to be honest.

This is way too much. I have all Killers and Survivors P3-50, so I would get around 1,2 Million Shards in total.

The result would be that BHVR would release way more cosmetics for Auric Cells, because players will be more likely to have more than enough Shards to get the Cosmetics they want. So it would just be more expensive for those who dont have that many Characters prestiged.

    @Topic:

Just go in with low expectations. Just dont think it will be too much, because honestly, getting Characters to P3 is not really an effort compared to getting all Perks on them.

But I know for sure that whatever the reward is, players will complain that it is not enough.

I know 21k shard per p3 is never going to happen (even 5K per P3 would be too much), if we get shards it'd be a really low amount. I think we'll only get a special crest, which is going to sadden the many people who wanted legacy 2.0...

So like a new version of prestige, but only in the post-game screen? Interesting. Would be nice to see that combined with some kind of iridescent shard / small auric cell reward. But alone, yeah that is disappointing.

We're definitely never getting auric cells for free lol. If we get iri shards it would probably be a ridiculously small amount, but it'd be cool if we got 21600 shards per P3, aka enough shards for 1 outfit for each of them, which would make up for not having an exclusive cosmetic.

WHAT DOES A "SMOKE BOMB" DO?

Simply put, the smoke bomb DOES NOT blind the killer the same way flashbangs or flashlights do. Instead, it obscures the auras with the blindness effect, as well as obscuring the killer's sight with the visible smoke as well. This would be a fun alternative to typical blinding and flashbangs. I specifically would like to add that it only gives the killer the blindness effect while in the area of the smoke, as soon as the killer exits the smoke, the auras return to the killer.

    Possible addon Ideas

To start off I will not be listing the separate addons that essentially only upgrade the ones prior I.e. slightly to moderately.

    • Iron Fuse: Slightly/Moderately increases smoke bomb duration
    • Tear Gas: Makes the blindness effect persist after the killer exits the smoke for 3 seconds
    • Gunpowder: Slightly/Moderately increases smoke bomb range (also could include by distance ex. +3 meters)
    • C4 (ULTRA RARE ADDON): Grants the ability to "Place Smoke Bomb" once placed Press The Second Action Ability Button within 10 meters of the placed smoke bomb to activate Smoke Bomb remotely.

    ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Slightly Decreases Smoke Bomb Range

    ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Moderately Increases Smoke Bomb Duration

    Final Thoughts

Honestly, I think that we need more items to play with as survivors as well as different interactions to have with the killer and other survivors. I'd love to see your ideas with the possible additions to survivor items as well as new offerings, should we be able to modify how the trial behaves more? let me know!

    Thank you, love you all!

*stares at killer* *throws smoke bomb* *vanishes into thin air*

Fr tho it's a really nice idea, it doesn't sound like it would be too strong but could offer some good plays opportunities (it would even nerf facecamping) and create entire new playstyles. I like the idea of having it as an item with mutliple charges, with add-ons to bring more or make the AoE bigger. We could also get a perk similar to Leon's to craft smoke bombs during the trial.

Would the killer be stunned by the bomb going off? If so it probably would be too op, so I'm assuming not.

and honestly the memes would be hilarious.

  • The website says this: "For now, note that each prestige level will modify your Character-specific Prestige crest, which other players can see in the post-game tally screen. That way, you can proudly showcase your commitment to your favorite character."

So I think the reward will be like a special crest to show everyone that you P3ed your character before the rework, which would be very disappointing to say the least, I'd literally take bps over that.

  • Too dark. Indoors structures are just way too dark but the devs didn't fix the other recent maps that have the very same problem so i doubt they'll fix this one either.

  • The other day i literally didn't play two games in a row that weren't in the same realm. It happens so often I started wondering if it was somehow a bug; the bloodweb sometimes bugs out and spawns the same perk over and over again (until you pick it) so I thought maybe it could be possible for maps to be bugged in a similar fashion.

In reality it's probably nothing but coincidences, even if i like to think there must be a reason as to why DBD sends me to RPD over and over again lol.

The way I see it, prestiging killers gets them closer to what I see as a "finished" character, p3-50 all perks. Each killer is a unique playstyle so unlocking everything on them has some form of value.

Prestiging survivors is just spending points for the sake of it, when one character with all the perks is the absolute maximum gameplay value you can get out of the survivor side.

When the prestige change hits, I'm going to go from having a survivor with all the perks and like 3 killers with all perks to 28 killers with every build available to them. Meanwhile someone who spends their points on prestiging their survivors for the change will have exactly the same thing available to them after the patch as before.

I agree, I've been prestiging survivors because it doesn't change anything gameplay wise and i want to "complete" them, while the killers i want to prestige are the ones I play the most and bc i don't play them during prestige I've been waiting since they announced the grind rework last year to do it lol. When the rework comes i'll definitely prestige killers before finishing my survivors, but until then I'm going to prestige the survivors with the teachables i use the most so i'll have them unlocked on everyone already.

  • @anarchy753 said:

I can safely say I have NO IDEA why anyone would start with the survivor side.

My killer side is done but my survivors have been in a mess of random prestiges from P3-50 all perks on on characters I use to the bulk of them still sitting at P0-40.

You can have one survivor with many perks and prestige all the others while still being able to play survivor with good perks with the one survivor that has perks. On the contrary if you prestige a killer you won't be able to play them with good perks until you've reached P3 and kept going until you have the perks you wanted.

If you don't mind playing with bad perks and / or aren't a survivor main, then yes prestiging killers is probably better. I personnally don't play a lot so prestiging means I won't play the character for quite a while, which isn't a problem for survivors bc they're basically all the same, while it can be bothersome on the killer side, I'm already not very good at killer so playing with T1 bad perks is not something i enjoy at all lol.

People will get rewards for prestiging characters but they are not gonna be cosmetics or charmsç This already confirmed.

Ah... kinda sad but at least I'm not going to waste all of his stuff then, thanks for letting me know!

  • ggs i'm so jealous lol i've only P3ed 11 survivors and 3 killers :'( i main Jake and he's not even prestiged at all bc he has the most perks... i don't know if I should waste all his items & offerings to hurry and prestige him before the rework in case we get a new cosmetic like legacy

  • As killer: Iit's one of the most killer sided maps (if not the most), and you'll win 8/10 times on it if you play well (aka if you don't waste your time defending the saloon's gen)

As survivor: Bushes everywhere :D, stealth is fun sometimes. Also the loops feel different that on other maps, it's refreshing.

  • Stay. I never understood why people think console players suck. I mean they do, but not more than PC players lol.

  • @Mandy said:

There will be more information about all these changes coming up, yes there will be some base game changes which helps to address why some of these perks are meta.

Thanks for addressing this, I was so shocked by the announcement I didn't register the part about base game changes haha I'm much less worried about the nerfs now, really excited for this and the prestige system and everything else!

  • Honestly they're absolutely beautiful so I'm not mad we only get twelve if getting more means less quality ! Also gets me excited for next year's anniversary to get ones for other characters! They're really so cool I hope it's not a one time thing only and eventually all characters have!

  • Yeah honestly when they said they were gonna rework all of the most used perks i was like.. uh all of them are you sure?

BBQ, corrupt intervention, self-care & iron will don't need to be nerfed, and BT's only problem is bodyblocking which I can't imagine would be impacted by a nerf...

I hope they don't nerf those but buff other perks so they're not the meta perks anymore but are still good, i feel like any nerfs on those perks would nerf them too hard, but we'll see ig.

  • I don't think there was unfortunately, i was hoping for an update about the icons showing what your teammates are doing :( im hoping the massive perk rework help buff solo q tho

  • Kindred for survivors, would buff solo q without buffing swf

For killers not a perk but buff kicking gens a little as it is currently not worth it without a perk

I just am so confused like it's just awful like every match is the same thing no matter how I play I have tried all the ways I can think of to like make games as fun as possible I go out of my way not to tunnel people and I don't camp yet it's like they have some kind of vendetta and I am just lost. Like I get it's just a game, so I shouldn't feel unhappy about it because people can be awful, but it's actually starting to get to me like I don't have fun these matches I don't get super mad, but it really doesn't make me happy. Like I don't understand how or why anyone would get mad at a perkless killer or Demogorgon with meme addons, every game feels like the survivors think I took away everything they cared for or something because they genuinely are awful.

Like I'm not one of those people who are like oh this made me into a basement Leatherface main, but I don't really feel the same way I did about the many posts complaining about tunneling or camping anymore, like genuinely don't. The constant games like this I have played just really made me realize that survivors aren't much better when it comes to toxicity. When they literally take it out on anyone they come across just like the toxic killers, like if anything I won't wanna play much anymore because of these experiences that I had so eventually they are just going to play against constant people with the same mindset as them to make the game as miserable and unfun as possible for the other side.

Also sorry for my venting, like just really felt a bit sad after those games, maybe it's time to take a break from dbd for a while I suppose lol maybe the nicer people will come back during the anniversary chapter if not I'm not sure what ill play because dbd really was my favorite game.

Killers have been spreading the "playing as toxic and sweaty as you want, your job isn't to make the game fun" agenda for a while; survivors decided to make their own fun. It's an endless cycle, you're getting bullied (and honestly that's a very strong word for banter in a pvp game) bc survivors get frustated at toxic killers and default to toxicity the same way killers killers get frustrated at toxic survivors and default to toxicity themselves.

I mean this in the nicest way possible but if you can't detach yourself from what is literally in game banter (as long as they don't insult you after the game, in which case you should report them) and take it personally enough it makes the game unfun, you should just stop playing it, or at least take a break from it, playing something that makes you feel bad isn't worth it.

  • @Mewishis said:

Anyways, blah blah blah console Nurse game on fractured cowshed I don't tunnel its perkless nurse with recharge addons, they get the last 2 gens done everyone is 2 hooked beside one guy can't apply pressure because I am panicking due to not playing Nurse in a while.

It's endgame, I down someone, but too late to get anyone else and they are 2 hooked so no point in trying to go for other people and the other survivors simply leave, I let them go and lead them to the exit gate because I was slugging him to try to lure in survivors who were hiding at the exit gates which they didn't fall for the trick and personally at that point getting him sacrificed wouldn't mean much of anything anyway.

I let him go and he starts teabagging at the exit gate and leaves and I'm honestly just done because I have tried so hard to play as fair as possible no matter what and just let everyone enjoy the game, but the survivors are so toxic lately like the most toxic I have ever seen ever.

I am just ranting here because it's just so frustrating, like trying your best to follow these made-up standards and you still get bmed. I genuinely don't understand what I did to deserve all the toxicity towards me.

If you bring a survivor to the exit and they tbag they're literally just saying thank you or ggs, or whatever else. Like really if you take people pressing a button or using one of the 2 emotes this personnally and seriously this when they're the ONLY way of communicating ANYTHING in the game no wonder you're getting frustrated lol, they're trying to tell you something not dancing on your grave..

Even when people are actually tbagging to taunt you it's reallyyy not that serious or "toxic", banter in pvp games never hurt anyone, better tbags than insults in post game chat. Hell, most popular streamers ######### talk their opponent quite often, but i've never seen anyone call otz or whoever toxic for it, it's in-game banter, it's fine as long as they don't insult you afterwards.

Nah im pretty sure nurse is pretty easy but requires a good pc to play smoothly and not a lot of people have those.

Used to get hard frame drops/ lag a good amount of time when i blink on my last pc. Now that i have a new one every game is a breeze while im just chilling.

Im sure there are survivors that can run me for 5 gens still but im not getting those in pubs and mmr is capped anyway.

Nurse is genuinely easy if you have a good rig but since the vast majority of players dont have that she is unlikely to be a problem.

I don't think nurse is easy by any means, but I agree she's definitely far more difficult to play if your game isn't smooth. I tried to learn her a long while ago, it was a bit laggy and difficult but I made some progress, then the RE chapter happened and i literally can't play her anymore bc my PC can't run DBD anywhere close to smoothly (or run it at all some days..) Every time I blink my frames drop, my screen freezes for half a second and my PC dies a little inside.

    Ladies and Gentlemen,

Deathslinger gets nerfed, I say "Duck it." Determine which killer is most punishing once mastered since my baby was taken from me, settle on Nurse. Blight was a close second but bouncy-boy just doesn't appease me aesthetically or canonically.

Does not go well. Get spanked. Get spanked many times.

Obviously, this must be the Nurse learning curve everyone talks about. I stay the course. Which, FYI, was about 50 hours. Continue to improve. Don't always 4k but win so consistently now that I find myself sad when I don't find some sweaty boys to practice with.

I legit can't find the sweaty boys. They've been nowhere to be found. Find survivors just rolling over and dying for the dumbest of reasons.

Go, "Hmm." Hop on a game of Deathslinger. Get world's sweatiest boys. Come to a conclusion:

Nurse <-> Survivor relationship is unique. Like Blight <-> Survivor relationship. Also like Yvone Strahovsky <-> My Dreams.

So every game I'm spanked I get what, 30 chases? I get duped by a clever LOS play maybe ten times? The number doesn't matter and that's the point. Each survivor gets some approximation of a fourth of what I get. That's the difference. I play Nurse all the time. What survivors play against Nurse as frequently? Some survivors are so far behind they feel Nurse is unapproachable and they give up. Lordy, I have been traumatized by the DC spam to the point that I pity hatch almost every game. Anytime they encounter a nurse it is that asymmetrical exposure to the killer that almost guarantees the killer they're facing is going to poo-poo on them.

So, TLDR, Nurse players get magnitudes more exposure to the relationship than any individual survivor. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.

    True TLDR, git gud.

Also it disheartens me to hear about Nurses being fed DCs for breakfast, lunch and dinner, she's by far my favorite killer to go against, even when they're so good we all die within two minutes. It's a bit sad bc you don't get to be chased much but it's always impressive to witness (and the game ends quicker than the DC penalty so what's the point of DCing, really?)

  • if you don't want to tunnel and camp just don't do it lol no one's forcing you...

In your three examples you mention survivors calling you a tunneler/camper but then say you don't care, so what exactly are you complaining about?

The game isn't telling you to play a certain way, survivors aren't forcing you to do certain things either, it's all you, you could literally go stand in a corner and no one could stop you. If you don't like tunneling and camping and don't think it's fun just stop doing it, it's that simple.

  • @gendoss said:

Man you're in a really good position. Only 4 hooks with 2 gens left? That's awesome.

im pretty sure it's both of the survivors' first hook and they're being left to die by the other two. They went from 2 gens 2 hooks to 2 gens 2 survivors dead (average solo q experience lol)

  • what exactly are you complaining about? that people save you? oh no how awful of them to play the game instead of hiding and wait for the hatch (which doesn't even count for MMR bc it's not a win). Longer game means more gameplay and more bloodpoints. If you don't want to be unhooked, don't hit the skillchecks. If there's two survivors and 5 gens left i'm not going to just hide and wait for the other to die lol I'm gonna keep playing the game and get as many BP as I can, which doesn't change anything for you. If you want the game to be over quicker, feel free to walk up to the killer instead of hiding in the corner hoping your teammate, who's also hiding, gets caught before you.

Also the situation you described with the survivor siding with the killer is literally so rare lol. im not sure why you're complaining about this considering if you don't unhook your last teammate you won't find yourself in that situation, unless you're the one getting saved, slugged and helping the killer in which case you're literally the problem you're complaining about ?

  • Honestly:

    1- Solo q buff

2- Custom games against bots so i don't have to deal w the playerbase lol / custom games alone so i can practice without wasting 4 people's time and looking stupid

    3- Grind rework

If you don´t see an issue that survivors actively try to ruin the game for everyone else, just because they couldn´t get what they want. Then i´m afraid you could be part of the problem.

lol how am i not seeing an issue? I'm saying as a solo q player people like her are really rare to encounter. People who just DC or kill themselves on hook are common, but ppl who go out of their way to ruin the game until they die really aren't, and I'd honestly rather play a 3v1 over a 4v1 with a teammate like that Zarina who's making sure we all die. As much as i'd like to play with teammates who don't give up at the slightest inconvenience, forcing them to keep playing is just going to make them play like that Zarina to get the game over with. Punishing the players isn't gonna help much (serial DCers just suicide now, stop them from suiciding and they'll just throw the game). We can't force people to play, just like we can't force people to play in a way that doesn't make their opponent want to DC/suicide/throw, it is what it is.

  • too much.

Found a post from july 2020 (so now it'd be worse) that says this:

"Grand Total for Survivors would be around 36,684,000 BP.

And Grand Total for Killers would be around 32,328,000 BP for killers.

If you want to P3 and give every perk to every killer and play just ONE survivor, it'd take somewhere around 215,892,000 Bloodpoints.

If you also want to P3 every survivor, though, it'd be around 398,592,000 bloodpoints."

I'm waiting for the bloodweb / grind rework that promised too long ago to get started, none of my killers have been leveled up past lvl 50, and only 3 of them have been prestiged.

Nope, 2 matches ago a Zarina was downed with 3 gens done against Myers on the Artists map. It was the first hook of the match. She instantly tried to unhook herself. Someone else reached her, before she reached struggling phase. After unhooking her, she didn´t move away from the hook and waited for myers to stalk and then down her a second time. Myers wasn´t camping so she got rescued again. Then she started to drop pallets without even being chased. Myers found her for the third hook.

    This whole action turned a 0 or 1k into a 3k.

So? Genuinely don't get what you're tying to prove/disprove? she tried to kill herself for some reason (maybe rage suicide bc she got hit reg) and threw the game because her teammates didn't let her. I mean it's stupid but this particular scenario rarely ever happens, i've only seen people doing this type of things to get challenges done (throw X pallets during a chase for eg)

  • Probably because:

1- Killers are playing increasingly sweaty & survivors don't want to deal with it every game

    2- Teammates suck

3- BHVR keeps nerfing solo q while trying to nerf SWF, making it an absolute pain

4- They don't want to play for whatever reason (don't like the killer, lowering MMR...)

  • 1- Misery - Killer: Annie Wilkes | Survivor: Paul Sheldon

2- The shining - Killer: Jack Torrance | Survivor: Wendy Torrance

3- It - Killer: Pennywise | Survivors: William "Bill" Denbourgh & Beverly Marsh

4- The silence of the lambs - Killer: Hannibal Lecter | Survivor: Clarice Starling

5- Idk maybe Alien / Predator

  • Honestly that'd be really cool! I also wish they would put BPs & shards (bc i know they wouldn't give auric cells lol) in the empty slots in the free track

  • Yeah sabo got nerfed too hard, hope we get a buff someday (the sooner the better!)

  • I think the gap between swf/solo q needs to be reduced before making big balance changes, otherwise solo q is going to be even worse.

Also i disagree about balancing the game around high MMR, the devs have said a bunch of time over and over again that the big majority of players aren't in the high mmr bracket so balancing the game around top tier players would make it unfun for lower tiers, which are the majority of players, and probably unplayable for new players.

I genuinely don't understand wanting to privilege higher MMR tiers so they don't have to sweat to win because no matter the meta if you want to play to win and be amongst the really good players you're gonna have to sweat through every game anyway, even if the game is perfectly balanced

  • @Chiky said:

I have been thinking of new game modes that could be added to the game to add variation. Since the game is extremely repetitive for both sides, a little form of variation would be very welcomed to stop players from abandoning the game.

    Here are my Ideas:

-All random: You get to choose which character you are playing with, but all addons and perks are chosen at random from all existing perks and can't be changed.

-Buffed Play: Same as normal game mode, except players can have 8 perks instead of 4. I'd like 8 because it can be insane, but 6 can do the trick too.

-1v1: One killer. One Survivor. No hatch. No generators. No lockers (only killers can open them to reload). No basement. Goal: Survive for X minutes. When the time is completed, the hatch appears.

-Double Fun: 2 killers, 8 survivors, 10 generators. Everything else the same.

-Hardcore: Killers can get you mori on your first down. Everything else the same.

What do you think? Have tou thoight any other game modes that would be fun to play?

Here's what I think of your ideas:

-All random: Good and viable, "randomize" option should already exist tbh

-Buffed Play: Fun in concept, probably unplayable in practice (imagine 8 slowdown perks combos, healing perks and second chances etc...) the games would probably be very sweaty and very long.

-1v1: Sounds fun and viable as well! I wouldn't forbid survivors from entering lockers bc some perks need them (inner healing & head on for eg), just greatly reduce the time a survivor can stay hidden in it before a crow shows up

-Double Fun: So many people want this but honestly this is just going to be survivors slamming gens while one killer facecamps and the other chases someone else. Death on first hook is going to be the norm and killers probably won't get a 8k ever. Still think some games could be fun tho, who knows.

-Hardcore: I would consider forbidding perks for killers to make it hardcore for them too (or at least reduce the number of perk slots), otherwide it's basically hardcore for survivors but easy mode for killers. Maybe lessen the number of gens too. The idea is good but the balance would be awful is everything was the same.

The ones i would want implemented would be a randomize button but not as a different game mode and the 1v1 mode, so we don't have to go in custom games and can go against random people, maybe also the hardcore mode if it was more balanced.

I also want to be able to play a customized game alone or against bots for practice but i don't think it counts as a new game mode

I consider myself to be a baby killer, newbie but can still win some games depending on the circumstances, i watch videos, guides, study the game, perks, and play a bit of survivor as well, but im facing a "problem", im just chilling playing my game, doing my thing, trying to improve, sometimes i find myself on a bad situation of no kills and 3 or 4 gens done, well at that point i know i can't kill everyone, more likely, so i decide to camp the hook or tunnel, again im playing for fun, if i decide i want to take one survivor with me, i will, i read the rules and there is nothing against camping or tunneling, i know some people might find it not a honorable thing to do, well, for me it is, because im a weak killer and its a strategy that sometimes gives me good returns, like people trying to save the others and i end up killing 2 - 3, or even 4.., so stop insulting killers when they do that, i've been getting hundreds of insults after games on the chat, even when i say GG, i dont insult anyone when they loop me forever, or blind me, or drop pallets on me, im having fun, not trying to exchange insults with people every single round i play, i have 75 hours of gameplay, so please be considerate of people playing the game, we are just having FUN, and if you die its not a big deal..

They're probably new too and frustrated they were winning the entire game but lost in the end, obviously they shouldn't insult you tho, just don't stick around to read the chat tbh.

This is wrong and false. I'll prove it. The killers job is to kill you. Whenever you get downed twice or even three times in a row, you think he has some toxic vendetta against you but most of the time that's just his best chance of winning. Survivors' job is to thwart killers' efforts, so it's not toxic to drop pallets in my face or run me around in circles, it's just good playing.

Things only go slightly into the realm of "toxic" (its so stupid to use that word when compared to games like league of legends, we're really just talking about mild bad manners here), but it only starts to go south when one side does something JUST to spite the other, that doesn't necessarily help the game. This includes killers face camping when no other survivors are nearby, slugging people just to watch them crawl around, shaking their heads, whacking people on the hook with their weapon. None of those things are moving the game forward, so that's a killer being "toxic". Survivors have a couple ways of being toxic too. The first is the obvious: teabagging and clicking flashlight repeatedly. They're doing this to taunt a killer when they escape or when he can't get to them. The second is item loadout: Flashlights and hook sabos and body blocks aren't the best meta right now, so when a team gets together with a million ways to blind the killer on his way to a hook, sure we can PRETEND they're just trying to win the game, but they specifically chose a loadout that harasses a killer instead of helps them do gens and move through the game.

I'm a killer main, that much should be obvious. Do I think they should remove tbagging and flashlight clicking and hook sabo from the game? Nah. Those just tell me when I can go super sweaty and toxic right back at them. If they're totally toxic for no reason (tbag clicking nonstop), I punish them hard, shake my head at them on the hook, I might even slug them and laugh as they crawl around trying to find the hatch. But that doesn't happen often. More often, they just choose a build I don't like. And if they clearly want to SWF and toy around with me using flashlights every step of the way, I don't think it should be illegal, but I"m going to tunnel and play dirty (my way of winning that's unfun for them).

So there's two types of toxic. There's being a dick for no reason, and there's generally playing in an unsportsmanlike way. One is crappy, one is fine, and I get to respond however I want to each.

Neither side is more toxic than the other, and you didn't prove anything (bc that's not possible considering "toxic" is subjective). Nodding, tbagging and flashlight clicking is widly considered toxic but tbh a little taunt in a pvp game never hurt anyone, it's not that serious.

Also i absolutely disagree about people using a certain build being toxic that's just ?? People call others toxic for using meta perks let's not start calling people toxic for running non-meta ones lmao. Altruistic builds aren't toxic, saving a teammate from being hooked isn't "harassing" the killer in any way. You said it yourself, the killer's job is to kill. On the other hand the survivor's job is to survive, not getting hooked certainly helps.

Like you can't seriously be saying survivors are more toxic than killers and then say you "go super sweaty and toxic" against people who use flashlights and sabo... so they don't die... which is literally the goal of the game...

With that logic, every tbagger, every Bully squad etc is playing to win and is a valiable tactic to play. Thx for clarifying.

really tho 🤭 so many posts around here are "survivors don't play how i want them to so i hate them and im gonna play how i want now!" as if they weren't already... like ppl talking about the ✨survivor rule book✨ are always killer mains who want to be applauded by other killer mains for playing toxic

  • Probably because it's a 4v1. You're either 1/4 of your team or the only person on it. If you're alone you're the only person who can make you win so you're more involved in the game and it hits more when you lose, bc you're the only person responsible for it.

  • People already play how they want and no one can force them to change lol... literally no ones play nice bc survivors (or killers) tell them to, some people just like going for 12 hooks or don't have fun sweating or whatever else.

(Also this entire post sounds a lot like "killers play however you want bc survivors don't play how i want them to", which I'm hoping isn't on purpose bc it would obviously be silly.)

  • i think it's short for "relationships", or well maybe it comes from somewhere else but it means the same thing

  • @Ula said:

Giving feedback when someone gets more condemned would help too.

Even if Sadako knew exactly how condemned survivors are, I don't see how that would be a problem.

probably same reason killers can't see survivors' hook stages, to avoid making Sadako a tunnel machine that only goes after whoever has the most stacks

  • Honestly I love going against Nurses, Demos, Billys, Deathslingers and Twins, but tbh if you're not playing to win and therefore aren't sweating every killer should be fine; unless the survivors hate this particular killer for some reason (usually Spirit & Freddy), I personally hate Wraiths no matter how they play lmao but i don't get mad at ppl solely bc they play him.

Everyone has a killer they hate for random reasons so you might as well play whoever you want!

I respect your opinion, but it makes no sense in hindsight. I'm not talking about cowering somewhere in the corner. I'm talking about making perks like Urban Evasion, Self-Aware, Diversion, Lightweight, Self-Preservation, Sole Survivor, and Fast Track more viable.

Regardless of your opinion about what will make the game more entertaining (watching players run amuck with the killer), it doesn't change the fact that not everyone should have to play the same way to have fun. If I want to take a slower approach to achieve success then I should have the option to do that and be decently rewarded for SURVIVING my way.

It's not my job or obligation to make sure the killer has fun taking me down. They have plenty f perks to help them with that endeavor.

Anyway, that's all I have to say on the matter. I'm not surprised that most of you (if not all) don't agree with my suggestion, since the majority of the community plays this way.

I mean it's fine if you enjoy playing stealthy, but as you said the majority of us don't so the community wouldn't be pleased if it became the meta. The problem with stealthing is that if it usually implies selfish plays (why risk getting caught to save a teammate?) and therefore is not encouraged in a 4v1. Solo q is the prime example of that, 8/10 times someone complains about their teammates it's someone who threw the game because they were stealthing. Also, besides sole survivor the perks you mentionned aren't that bad and I see them pretty frequently. Even if you personnally don't just hide in a corner the entire game, give the tools to make it a viable strategy and many people will do just that, mostly new players for whom the game is still scary. Stealthing itself shoudn't be rewarded, but escaping a chase by stealthing away should be and doing objectives too (which you'll more likely be doing if you avoid chases by stealthing), if that makes sense. If you don't get caught the entire game but did the objectives I agree you should get a decent amount of BP (it would also help for afk killers & facecampers), but I don't think much BPs are deserved for people who hide until their teammates die to escape.

  • I agree with saying that the BPs system for survivors is busted and needs to be reworked. However here's multiple observations:

You don't get BPs for doing objectives only & you don't get BPs for running the killer all game; which is stupid because these is what makes your team win.

You do get BPs for making saves & healing; that's bc otherwise you wouldn't get saved in solo q, hence the hook farming.

Your teammates that are "running around doing nothing" aren't doing nothing, otherwise they wouldn't get 24k BPs, they're probably stunning the killer and making saves, which are the only things that are viable if you want BPs.

The problem isn't that "reckless" play is rewarded, it's that winning the game (by doing the objective & keeping the killer busy) isn't.

I absolutely disagree about rewarding stealthing tho, you're playing against a real person so rewarding avoiding contact with them would be awful for killers, if you're just hiding the entire game I don't think you should gain over 15k BPs tbh. Not to mention that the big majority of players don't play to hide in a bush and press m1 the entire game. Survivors and killers alike would be mad if stealthing was actually rewarding, it would mean dying on first hook in solo q and boring games for killers.

  • Yes this issue is the main reason i don't use it. Saboteur used to be op and needed to be nerfed but BHVR nerfed it too hard tbh... at the very least they should fix this problem bc the cooldown is too long to be able to accidentally waste it. Like you shouldn't be able to accidentally double click and just not being able to sabo.. the perk should deplete for as long as you're sabotaging a hook, like killer's power where they keep the 'charge time' they didn't use for example.

  • I definitely think a "randomize" option is long overdue... not even necessarily for extra bloodpoints but literally just for fun. I've never done a random perk build even tho i'd like to bc im too lazy to go on the website & randomize until the build matches the perks I have. Even without the extra BP it would bring more perk diversity (but extra BP is always welcome).

Also I was thinking of a system where random perks are picked every week (ideally 4 per role, but maybe only 2 per role that would be the ones as the shrine of secrets). One of these perks being played during this week would multiple the BPs per game by 25%. That way people playing the entire randomized build would gain 2x BP, but people who aren't confident could still make a build around one or two of these perks to gain extra BP. I think this would definitely help diversify the perks, it would also help with the grind for people who participate, also it would make people create builds around unused perks and maybe discover some decent builds and underrated perks in the process.

  • A fun bordeline meme build: No Mither, pebble, spine chill & fixated

it's basically a stealth build with high stakes if you get caught. I use it for stealth challenges bc using good stealthing builds is way too boring for me.
