    • Boon 1: Any survivors aura within the boon radius is revealed to all survivors. If the killer is within the boon's radius, their aura is revealed for 3 seconds for every 30 seconds they are within it.
    • Boon 2: Dropped items within the boon's radius will recharge items over time excluding toolboxes (too op i guess nvm)
    • Boon 3: You are unaffected from the blindness, exposed, hindered, hemorrhage, incapacitated, mangled and oblivious status effects when within the boons radius. (Leaving the boon's radius will re-enable all of the status effects for as much time as they have left, if any)
    • Boon 4: Every 60 seconds, a randomly chosen dropped pallet within the boon's radius will reset it to its upright position. (too good on The Game?)

To be honest most of these sound very OP if all survivors use them and they are around the entire map. But the same could be said about current boons like Shadow step, so I'm not sure really.

I don't think these are too op tbh here's my thoughts on each of them:

Boon 1: Basically boon: kindred, it doesn't seem op at all. Good for solo q, no point for swf to bring 4 of them (or even 1 tbh) when they can just tell their friends where they are.

Boon 2: if the effect works only once per item it wouldn't be op. If 4 ppl bring it they'd need to wait for the item to reload + 14s blessing so it would really not be op; build to last would still be much better

Boon 3: good but very situational, i don't think anyone cares enough about status effect to bring 4 of them

Boon 4: Definitely not op, this one sounds actually really weak tbh. There's like 2 pallets max within the boon's radius, and you'd have to wait 60 seconds for one of them to be reset, assuming the killer didn't break the pallet or snuff the boon (unless ppl bless a totem after the pallet was dropped, in which case spending 14s blessing + waiting 60s is literally not worth it when Any means necessary exist and is better bc it has aura reading. One person with any means necessary could do a better job at reseting pallets than 4 of these boons.

    • Who would win ?

Felix. Yun-Jin and Feng Min were too busy trying to rip eachother apart, being the two most competitive out of the lot, that they completely overlooked him and didn't realise he took the lead until it was too late.

    • Who would cheat ?

Ace would cheat succesfully until Yun-Jin becomes suspicious and put the bank far from him. Meg would attempt to cheat in an desperate attempt to not lose, and fail miserably.

    • Who would be the first one to lose ? (yes i did all of them up to the final three, sue me :p )

Kate would play dumb and lose on purpose when Feng Min & Yun-Jin start getting worked up over the game.

Meg would be the first one to lose for real, strategy has never been her strong suit.

Jane survives for a while because she inherited the previous losers' stuff, but it's not enough to stay in the game.

Ace would follow soon after, once he couldn't stay afloat by cheating.

Jonah is taken out by a short lived alliance between Yun-Jin & Feng Min, who got fed up with him showing off his quick maths skills.

  • Honestly I loved it I whish it never left :( Granted I was usually in green / purple ranks back then but I still was happy to play on it both as survivor & killer.

This would be a great tactic if Oni hadn't fought and killed his own father who stood opposing him.

To be fair it doesn't sound like he knew it was his father until it was too late and he "screamed in agony" when he realised. Also his goals were first to honour his family's name and then to redeem it, so I'd say there's a good chance he might not want to kill one of its members.

  • I personnally use "us v them" to refer to the ideology that survivors & killers are somewhat not the same playerbase or community, which usually entails that one side is toxic & op and ruins the game for the better other side that doesn't do anything wrong ever

  • @AbsolutGrndZer0 said:

I am legit curious why Wraith of all killers bothers you the most?

I very heavily dislike him. He's just going around bing-bonging it's infuriating lol.

For real tho, I'm visually impaired so he's completely invisible to me when he's blurry bc I can't tell if it's him or just my sh*tty vision (and on the other hand I sometimes think I see him and start to run when he's nowhere near me), which is very frustrating bc I know other survivors can see him and I have to rely on them a lot (which is not a good thing in solo q lol)

Also since his buff I started disliking him even more bc he became more popular so I see him way too often (don't* see him technically :p), and to add to this 8 times out of 10 it'll be a facecamping tunneling Wraith so obviously that doesn't help making him likeable.

  • Multiple issues from the top of my head:

1- Survivors could abuse it by staying around the hook

2- Killers could abuse it by standing 17 meters from the hook. It wouldn't even make it more complicated for ranged killers

3- Killers could easily go closer to the hook and catch up to a survivor running for the unhook

4- Killers like facecamping Bubbas who make it their all brand would simply not care

5- Solo q survivors would still largely kill themselves on hook, so the extra time would only come into play for swf

  • Yeah fingers crossed, maybe there's a tiny chance the petition will convince Netflix

  • @alpaca_boyyy said:

@MandyTalk can you give us insight if BHVR has seen the petition made with over 19,000 signatures as of writing this?

BHVR is definitely aware of the community wanting Stranger Things back, but they can't do anything about it without Netflix's agreement which is where the problems come from unfortunately.

  • Spirit because there's good chances he wouldn't want to kill his descendent, and if he decides to do it anyway he might not be on his best game. And if I'm gonna die I might as well enjoy a heartbreaking family drama before I do lol.

  • Honestly he's just boring ? I mean I literally just launched DBD expecting to play for a couple of hours, had two tricksters games in a row and closed the game. They weren't playing particularly sweaty, I escaped both times along with most of teammates and had a couple of decent chases but those two games were enough to bore me into closing the game.

Personally I feel like Billy would fit more as a legendary skin for Steve instead of being a killer cause of his sacrifice in S3

Yeah I originally put him down as a legendary skin and put the Mind Flayer "monster spider" form as the killer (hence why it's written legendary skins plural but only one named), but I figured the monster spider would probably be too hard too implement and you could argue Billy isn't the killer, but the Mind Flayer is bc he's controlling him. (also even if he's had redemption, it wouldn't be the first killer that isn't actually an awful person, like Artist or Spirit for eg)

You bring up an important point lol, completely forgot she didn't age since she was dead.

  • Yesterday I've encountered my first afk killer in months

If you encounter a lot of them you're just very unlucky (or there's an afk epidemic and i'm the lucky one for not encountering them)

  • Literally never met a Nancy that wasn't acting like an absolute newby or didn't throw the game for the entire team. Where are those S tier Nancy, please, i'd like to meet them.

  • Could be a bug. One time a similar situation happened to Me & a Nea, she stunned me with a pallet and we were both stuck on each side of it (not inside the pallet), I could see the option to break the pallet but nothing would work besides the camera. Nea was down but not moving at all and she eventually DCed (so I assume she was stuck as well). As soon as she DCed I wasn't stuck anymore.

They might go away like the old glowing prestiged clothing so id keep farming if you like them. I only say this because i missed my chance at those and regret it slightly. Ideally tho you should always prestiged for the increased rarity of items more then the cosmetics

Legacy was a special reward for those who had gotten the bloody cosmetics before the grind rework, the bloody cosmetics have always been the prestige's rewards and I doubt that will change. Also, the increased rarity of the bloodweb has been proven to not be working times and times again. It has never been fixed and i don't think it ever will be, partly because rarity is kind of a mess and there's a lot of low rarity offerings and add-ons that are better than higher quality ones.

  • Tbh I wouldn't mind if it was a crest/emblem type of thing but i really would prefer they announce what the reward is so people can make the choice of losing their items & offerings to get the reward or to keep them if they feel it's not worth it. There's a bunch of ppl hurrying to P3 their characters thinking they'll get an exclusive cosmetic or a bunch of BPs to make up for it and they'll probably be disapointed (and mad at BHVR) when they realise it's neither of those things.

  • Maybe they're doing "stun the kill X times" challenges ? I'm struggling to do them bc i don't like wasting pallets if I don't need to but there's no such thing as wasting pallets on the game lol

  • I need Robin & Eddie so bad :( even if they're just legendary skins i'd buy them, I hope BHVR didn't give up on ST & try to get a new contract with Netflix (but my hopes are so, so low)

It needs minimum 4-5 seconds to be useful. BT gives 2 seconds of speed boost while the Killer is slowed wiping their weapon. Plus there's a slight delay in the unhooking animation before the Survivor can run.

One sprint burst is enough to gain enough distance, mostly when the killer isn't expecting it (genuinely never been successfuly tunneled when i run sprint burst). Also it wouldn't exhaust the survivor who would still have their exhaustion perk active (unless it's sprint burst in which case they had a 300% speed boost for 3 seconds or 150% for 6 seconds, which is plently enough). I'd say 5 seconds would be the absolute maximum, not minimum.

  • 150% haste for 8 seconds is... a LOT, that's like 3 sprint bursts in a row it's absotuley nuts. Imagine if it stacked with actual sprint burst you'd be zooming like crazy lol.

I agree it needs a buff but like that's just too much. Maybe make it 150% haste for 3 seconds, you give the survivor a sprint burst to run away, which should be enough.

  • I'd switch Trickster & Bubba around and put Dredge in A+ (at least until we see how it performs in live game), but otherwise I'd say it's a pretty good tier list.

  • Honestly adepts are such a pain for killers and too easy for survivors (getting an adept bc the killer is afk doesn't feel very rewarding...). I wish the system was reworked so it's easier for killers and harder for survivors. Like maybe "finish the match with at least 3 iridescent emblems" for both roles instead of 4 for killers and nothing for survivors.

  • I think the Q&A section is only for future streams (don't quote me on that). I don't mind really mind Wraith and Huntress, tho I was hoping for Myers to get a model update. I also don't really mind the kicking animations, but i'd be pleasantly surprised if they were changed, also the early killers absolutely need a Mori rework, it'd be amazing if we get those with the Mori rework to come, but I'm not too hopeful.

I just wish they weren't all short hair styles. Like, I feel this with David and Felix. All of their hairs seem either really really short, or really short lol. I want some variety.

Actually Felix, along with Jake & Jeff are the only three I can think of that have long hair cosmetics (and Jake is the only one with multiple hair dyes as well i believe, but I'm not sure about). Pretty sure Felix has the longest hair of them all lol, but yeah agreed we need more varieties for male survivors, frustrates me so much when we get head recolors and the only thing that changes is the glasses...

    image.png

  • There's literally no reason to not get different hair colors for men. Even if bright neon colors don't fit their personality they could get more natural looking dyes (like Meg for eg, she has a bunch of blonde / brunette variations).

  • I picked the "permanent perk but can be teached" bc it seems like the most viable option (assuming it's not a fourth perk), but it would imply killers know one of your perks and the possible playstyles or popular builds around it from the start.

And honestly it'd be fun but it's too late to implement tbh. It would lead to ppl only playing op characters (bc obviously if they have differences some will be better than others) and others complaining that the survivor they've played for years is now worse than others. I feel like disparities between survivors would have been fine if they were implemented from the start, but yeah ppl wouldn't like it if their mains were made dirty now.

Also there's already differences in sizes & loudness, I very rarely play Meg bc i don't have iron will on her and she's very loud for eg.

  • @Phasmamain said:

Could be abused with 3 others I guess? Otherwise that’s a great idea!

I mean admitting it doesn't stack then no i reckon it'd be fine.

  • ...that's actually really smart

  • The other day i got stuck in the loading screen for 13 minutes bc two survivors DCed after seeing the killer brought a mori... since their rework they're fine i don't get it. Usually ppl who play sweaty with moris also play sweaty without moris anyway so what are you gaining besides a DC penalty...

Don't forget that there's also no matchmaking in the PTB so accurate information with regards to balance is impossible to get from that respect.

We're aware of how to get feedback @Clockwork_Enigma and whilst I appreciate the concern, please do not worry. We will be giving more information on the changes closer to the time, hopefully prior to the PTB - although not as much in advance as a couple of months. And I'll be watching for feedback intently.

i didn't know mmr was actually turned off, (i mean with so few players i didn't think it'd matter anyway, but it being turned off makes more sense) and not to worry I'm actually very excited and surprisingly optimistic for all this, i genuinely think it'll go well :)

But my point with a change like this is that this is something extremely significant and not something that should be done with normal procedure. While I understand that there will be a week long PTB (which I feel is too short; I'd say two weeks to a month would be far better), it's the timing of it and the information the community has at the moment that's the most important; if we can know ahead of time and test it well ahead of time (say a month or two before finalization), then the community can properly give feedback on something of this magnitude before the live game launches with the changes in mind. Something of this scale should not have a PTB within weeks of launching the update; it should be at least a month prior.

And in regards to the PTB, while console users are unfortunately never going to have access to the PTB, they will still have access to players' streams and the patch notes, which will at least provide them with plentiful information to make a solid opinion on changes.

Again, something of this scale should have very thorough involvement with both sides, long term. I'm afraid if that doesn't happen, then things will go out of hand like they did with the introduction of Circle of Healing and the rework to Boil Over, and I don't want those scenarios to happen again.

PTB gives feedback for bugs and obvious balance problems, people don't play normally in the PTB and most people don't test it at all. PTB doesn't give accurate feedback on game balance bc it doesn't help figuring out how the changes will perform in live game. The only way to know that is to send the changes to live game, and see what happens. If things need tweaking they can still be changed.

(and i'd rather play two weeks of mayhem DBD with broken builds for everyone rather than two extra months with boring metas tbh, at least it'd be entertaining lol)

  • Wraith. I just absolutely hate him. Hated him before his buff. Hate him more now bc he became very popular.

Then Nemesis because he & his zombies make my frames drop

And then idk spirit or freddy maybe, but even then sometimes i don't mind going against them. Maybe Blight, Cenobite, trickster or even ghostface, it really depends on my mood lol.

  • ...seriously at this point what do yall NOT consider BM / toxic

If you stomp me I say gg, you played well (or i played badly and deserved it)

If I stomp you i say gg, you either tried your best or you cared more about memes and entertainment than winning (and a fun game is a good game)

I said this many, many times here but I really don't mind SoloQ. I'm also aware judying by posts here that many don't share this view. It could be that I'm mostly chill with this game. We all screw up at times so I don't care if teammates try and fail miserably. Keywork "try" the only thing that irks me if I'm on a hook and see everyone else just hiding or sitting on gens while you reach second stage or even die. Overall my personal experience is that most games I am with other players who do try to work as a team to escape. The decent games outweigh the bad.

Yeah I'll nuance my opinion bc this ^ made me realise I sound like saying solo q is always miserable for everyone, which isn't true (otherwise I simply would not be playing it lol). I have my fun in solo q because I'm a chill player who doesn't care about escaping. The only times i get frustrated is when I'm trying to do a challenge and just can't do it bc the killer thinks they needs to facecamp & tunnel me to secure the bag, which gets me to my conclusion:

Solo q isn't terrible most of the time if you're a chill player who doesn't expect anything from it; but solo q is a pain if you're playing to win or have an objective in mind (getting to high ranks, challenges or whatever)

Yeah lets compare kicking gens to a survivor literally unhooking themselves and saving their life, then using ds right after.

im not going to bother explaining why survivors 4% really isn't a big deal but considering you like shock arguments and comparisons that make no sense i'm going to entertain you:

Survivors trying to 4% risk sending themselves into the second stage, by you "balance means everything is the same for everyone" logic it means if killers have a 4% chance of sending a survivor to 2nd stage whenever they hook them they should also have a permanent risk of "oops i missed the hook, they slipped" everytime they try to hook someone, which would set the survivor free.

  • @Devilishly_Rowdy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2976099#Comment_2976099

I haven't mentioned any "perk" on my post, 4% is a game mechanic given to survivors for free, just like the hatch.

...do you really want me to re-write this with "kicking generators" instead?

  • Killers get a bunch of perks to slow down the survivors' objectives. How about a perk for survivors, where if they rescue a survivor they can perform an action to have an extra hook stage before dying to slowdown the killers' objective?

Or is slowing down the game just exclusive to killers?

    (that's how balance works, right?)

  • Solo q experience is miserable.

The SWF & solo q gap is too big but the devs have been balancing the game around swf lately without reducing that gap first, consequently nerfing solo q. Unfortunately they didn't mention QoL updates for solo q in the anniversary stream so I'm worried things will get worse and most of us will stop playing before things get better.

On a brighter note, here's possibily some silver linings:

    • The implementation of icons showing you what your teammates are doing. It seems to be in the works but it wasn't mentionned in the stream so I don't want to get my hopes up about it coming anytime soon
    • The solo q / swf gap could be reduced with the perks overhaul

I thought there would be more than that when I started typing lmao, but heyy if bots come before solo q QoL updates we'll be able to play against & with them instead of suffering.

could use the same argument against you, if tunneling and camping makes you win why would it be toxic since it's just you not liking it.

besides camping and tunneling might help you win the game (as annoying as it might be for the survivors or even the killer), Tbag and flashlight spamming don't help you winning except if you consider making the killer mad a win

I suggest you re-read my post, I'm literally using tunneling and camping as an example of how saying something you don't like is toxic is stupid... you don't need to "use my argument against me" bc you're literally agreeing with me.

And again (and for the last time bc we're literally just going in circles here), doesnt matter what you or I or anyone believes is "toxic" or BM in DBD, bc even if we disagree on what is or isn't toxic it doesn't change the fact that both sides are equally bad and making "them v us posts" is stupid. Toxicity isn't exlusive to one side, there isn't only one side who's experienced is being ruined by the other.

Making "will survivors only be happy when the last killer leaves?" posts is absolutely and utterly stupid and if i spend too much time on the forum i may go rabid one day and start making equivalent "will killers only be happy when the last survivor leaves?" posts everytime i see killers crying about "them v us".

  • I mean they didn't randomly pick 40 perks and decided to switch them around, they're doing this *because* of the playerbase's feedback on the meta being boring etc

Also considering game mechanics changes are coming with the perk overhaul i highly doubt it would be implemented without a PTB first, so we'll be fine i reckon. We don't need mulitple PTBs based on previous PTBs, the average players, which are also the majority, don't play the PTB so the feedback isn't representative of how the reworks would do in average games, it helps with big problems (like hemorraghe on downed survivors for eg) but not really with balance tweaks that usually happen a little while after the PTBs are live. So yes i'd definitely like a PTB, but i don't think multiple of them are needed tbh.

you never heard of sportmanship I guess.

It's not because in other game people do it (wich is also toxic in the other game) that it's ok to do it in dbd

lol first of all not caring about sportmanship =/= being toxic; otherwise you claiming tunneling and camping aren't toxic would be hypocritical considering literally forbidding someone from playing the game to ensure you win it is the furthest from sportmanship there is (someone doing something you don't like isn't "toxic", stop misusing the word).

Also i've stated multiples times that even if i personnaly don't mind being tbagged i don't do it to others bc i know they may not feel the same; and my point wasn't "tbagging is fine" but "both sides are toxic and making a them v us post implying the contrary is stupid", which it is.

  • ...I miss when wraith was bad and no one would play him

  • I think it's a shared experience between servers, most likely people play with their friends after work (so late afternoon / night) and can only play survivor, whereas people who play solo can play whenever they can during the day and play both roles (a bunch of people only play survivor with their friends and play killer the rest of the time).

  • As survivor my favorite thing is saving your teammates against the odds :) :

-Unhooking a teammate when the killer is facecamping

-Successfully stopping the killer from tunneling a teammate

-Somehow turning the game around when all your teammates are downed or hooked

-Sucessfully stopping the killer from hooking / picking up a teammate on deathhook

-Successful rescue & escape in egc with NOED

-Successful rescue & escape in egc when the rest of your teammates have abandoned the one who's hooked

As killer I don't play to win so a game is satisfying if I did the best I could and the game turned out well. For some reason I feel better when i do well and most suvivors escape than when I do well and get a 4k, not sure why lol but i like when we all have a good time and leave with an honorable amount of bps (without farming, that's boring af)
