I mean, they did have problems.

Library, even before Boil Over, was a nightmare if there wasn't a hook. Same with the top floor of Thompson House.

My issue is that the Devs move glacially slow on changes. It's way easier to killswitch Boil Over than it is to mess with maps.

    True enough, on all accounts.

It also does not help that the devs literally knocked 6.25% off the struggle bar with the QoL change (1 second is 6.25% of 16 seconds). Couple them together and the Survivors are basically being rewarded with 31.25% free wriggle progress.

And the devs HAD to be aware of how many 'I was at 99%!' already happened in a normal game. Killers would have to be hooking people before Survivors hit 68.75% of the wriggle bar to hook them, now. The lack of a real 'minimum' fall for 'a great height' is not helping, either.

I wish they had a filtered mode specifically for her. Shes balanced in my opinion but its just that I hate getting puked on and having my character start puking. The noises and visuals of all the damn puking makes me feel sick

If they made an option to change the vomit to rainbows and the puke-sound to a crowd of children going 'Yaaaay!'; I'd totally play Plague again.

If the infinites are the problem, then that's not a problem with the perk but rather with the map design. So maybe maps like Thompson House should have a hook in those problematic infinite areas. RPD should have a hook upstairs in the library. Any other problematic areas in maps should have a hook as well.

This takes Boil Over from being used in a bully squad to being used as intended.

The maps did not have the problem until this perk was buffed to God-tier broken levels. That tellsme it's the perk's problem and not the maps.

Plus, it'd be easier to alter the perk instead of go over every map & tile with a comb to find every immunity spot.

I mean I do agree with you for the most part but I'm going to tell you the same as I tell dumb survivors who complain about NOED if you feel like there is a possibility for NOED if you see a Totem break it but for killer find it and stomp it CoH really isn't that powerful yes it is Strong wont argue about that but it can be countered like everything else you just have to find it when wow hit a survivor and watch where they go and holy crap Batman you know where it is or at least the general area. Again everything else I agree with

    The difference being two-fold:

    1. The Killer's time is more valuable than Survivor's, because his is limited by how quickly Survivors do gens. He has less time to spend Snuffing totems because he also has to: Find Survivors, chase Survivors, h it Survivors, hook Survivors, pressure gens, possibly keep an eye on exit gates, etc.
    2. Even if the Killer snuffs CoH; it will pop right back up in 8 seconds, meaning his Snuffing is literally a delaying action, whereas a Survivor doing bones is permanently removing a perk.

You can’t escape from a one hit 119% speed killer. A killer with 1 hour in this game can kill you , totally undeserved kills

The Killer found you and hit you after you failed to cleanse the totems: Kills were deserved.

This Survivor-minded bias of 'I get to decide what's a deserved kill!' needs to go. Because no, you don't. 🤡

  • Survivors want Survivor meta to change: Dev gives Survivors yet more OP perks to pick from.

Survivors want Killer meta to change: Survivors are given yet more OP perks Killers have to change their meta to counter.

Killers want Killer meta to change: Devs nerf Killer perks that are overused.

I wonder why Killers are leaving? 🤡

I represent survivors as well. Sounds like he and I are the only ones that represent survivors on this forum.

Good joke. I live when Survivors scream the loudest and then scream everything is Killer-sided while getting a Struggle boost of 6.25% for free in a quality of life change, Boon totems that break the game, Boil OPver for functional immunity...

  • Yes, for the Killer.

You do good? Survivors insult you and tell you to uninstall.

You do bad? Survivors insult you and tell you to uninstall.

You don't follow the ever-changing Survivor Rulebook? Survivors insult you and tell you to uninstall.

You get a 4K? Survivors insult you and tell you to uninstall.

You uninstall? Survivors insult you and tell you to install, THEN uninstall.

They have admitted a mistake a grand total of one time before and it was due to survivors being unhookable.

One of the previous patches effectively made survivors unhookable due to a change in the "Save" mechanics with flashlight and pallets and they had to hotfix revert it while admitting they screwed up.

So hopefully this will be their 2nd time admitting it...But I doubt it.

They have yet to fix the 'Survivor makes no sound on the ground' bug that costs Killers some kills.

But they fixed the 'Sometimes Killers don't have music' bug within 24 hours. Because that made it way too easy for Killers to hear Survivors. 🙃

  • @Warcrafter4 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2779686#Comment_2779686

The issue with that is that no map is designed around falls giving survivor wiggle progress and thus this causes issues not only on specific maps but entire map realms such as red wood maps both having forced double fall spots.

More and more of these spots are being found every day on nearly every realm that has a 2+ story tall building in it.

So its a perk they'd have to literally warp and balance the game solely around it just like old Balanced landing; causing them to redo every single map in the game....Or they can just admit it they screwed up and revert it.

Or they can just admit it they screwed up and revert it

How many years did it take before they admitted the phase 2 hook mechanic was horrible? I still recall a Q&A where someone said 'When will it be changed? It PHYSICALLY HURTS ME!' and the dev's reply was 'Well, we thought of it, so we like it.'

What I'm trying to say is that they don't ever admit their mistakes. Even glaring obvious ones.

  • Yes. No more map offerings means Survivors can't abuse Boil OPver as hard.

I mean, they still can, since 99% of the maps have safe zones with Boil OPver. But at least they can't pick the strongest maps, if offerings were retired.

  • @Vampwire said:

i love that boil over is a perk that just screws killers in every possible scenario while carrying

Falling from 3 inches? +25% wriggle meter!

Walking towards a hook? +75% stagger!

Still slowly making it? 1 second (6.25%) reduction in the wriggle time due to great skillchecks! 🤡

  • If any fall is more than 3 inches; it's a 'great height'.

I'm sure the devs are aware and looking into this as we speak. Because the height should be 1 inch. Such an oversight.

  • Gen regression is mostly garbage because the 1-frame gentap exists and the devs will never fix it.

  • Boil OPver is broken as all hell. I can see why Survivors will cling to it and scream that it's 'not that strong' as loudly as possible.

'Play around it, like Survivors have too with NoED'

Oh sure, let me find the totem giving you Boil OPver and turn it off before it ever comes into play-Oh wait! I CAN'T. I would have to assume you have Boil OPver and hope you can't scurry to a hook-free area with a 3 inch drop to trigger it, only to leave you slugged when you do, and then you get up on your own.

Boil OPver is as broken as my hopes and dreams that the devs will one day NOT give Survivors everything they want to bully Killers. 🤡

    - Oh no, that Bubba is facecamping our teammate, what can we do?!

    - Jeez, are you new? Just slam 'em gens and begone, what else can you do!

    - Oh no, that Bubba has NOED!

    - Jeez, are you new? That was your fault for slamming 'em gens, you should've vacuum cleaned the whole map in search of all 5 totems instead of rushing gens, obviously! Oh, survivors these days...

Oh no, the Bubba is camping! This means I can do bones and stop NoED from ever activating! But I'll pretend that doing 5 totems while a Killer camps is somehow impossible so I can cry to nerf NoED while running 4 second chance perks in a 4 man SWF on voice comms! 🤪

What “huge buffs” have come to just survivors? I guess you completely forgot about the DMS buff that pretty much made it ridiculously strong with Pain R and also the perk by itself starting to be a problem on Artist. What about the addition of Deadlock that hasn’t been nerfed yet and is incredibly strong? Are you just going to disregard all that because you want to make the assumption the devs are survivor sided?

What “huge buffs” have come to just survivors?

    1. Boons. CoH in particular.
    2. The CoH nerf clearly being a hollow gesture to make Killers shut up without depriving Survivors of their OP perk.
    3. Boil Over being broken as all heck.
    4. The Quality Of Life wriggle change containing a Survivor buff because they literally can't alter anything in this game without giving Survivors something in return.

Did I miss any Survivor buffs?

  • 'Boring' is subjective and your post is basically 'Change Killers I don't like'.

    Yes, yes it still is.

Each flip is a separate event with a 50% chance.

What you are arguing is the gamblers fallacy, which is the idea that sooner or later it has to hit heads once. Unfortunately that's not how math works. Plenty of people in my hometown can't afford to leave now thanks to that particular fallacy.

You seem to be misunderstanding how odds work.

If I ask 'What are the odds of rolling a 6 on a 6-sided dice 10 times in a row?' the answer is not 1 in 6 (which is the odds of rolling a 6 on a 6-sided dice).

The fact they are entirely independent of each other means we simply multiply each roll's probability together: 6*(1/6)6=1/7776 =~ 0.01286%

You don't just say 'Oh, well, it's 1/6 because you have a 1 in 6 chance every time'.

  • The devs can't be bothered to spend 30 minutes fixing stretched res cheating, so do you really think they're going to make an entire offline mode?

  • Because she's one of the hardest Killers to master.

And trying to master her while flashlight squads, 4-man SWFs using 4 meta perks each, and the new CoH/Boil Over BS, all BM the Killer and insult them in the end game chat basically means you're asking for the worst DBD experience possible.

  • NoED is fine. You don't deserve free key for being too lazy to do bones.

  • I stopped playing at all when the CoH 'nerf' dropped. The devs made it painfully clear they don't care about the Killer experience.

    1. Pentimento: A strong hex! Except it launches at literally the same time as Boons, which removes Survivors cleansing totems, which is what Penti needs. Clearly just a fake perk to appease Killers.
    2. CoH being OP as heck.
    3. The CoH nerf clearly being a hollow gesture to make Killers shut up without depriving Survivors of their OP perk.
    4. Boil Over being broken as all heck.
    5. The Quality Of Life wriggle change containing a Survivor buff because they literally can't alter anything in this game without giving Survivors something in return.

During all that Survivor-favored stuff, what did Killers get? Dead Man's Switch. And I expect that will be nerfed hard while they continue to 'look at' Boil OPer.

  • Ok. I have looked at steam charts; tell what statistic shows how many people are playing Killer or Survivor.

You can't? Oh, that must mean you pulled 'if you look at that number clearly more than half are playing Killer then Survivor' out of nowhere, huh? There's clearly more Survivor players, just by looking at how long Survivor queues are; there's not enough Killers to go around, so Survivors are left waiting.

This game is the most Survivor-sided it's ever been:

    1. Pentimento: A strong hex! Except it launches at literally the same time as Boons, which removes Survivors cleaning totems, which is what Penti needs.

And yet, Survivors stomp their feet and whine that Killers aren't 'playing nice' and 12 hooking, knowing full well a Killer who 12 hooks can't get more than 1 kill without either being amazing or going against potatoes.

Which is probably what most Survivors want; a Killer who can't kill. So they insult Killers, and shame tactics that allow Killers to win, demanding Killers 'be happy with the 3K' and 'Stop sweating', and scream to nerf NoED while running 4 META perks each while in a 4 man SWF on voice comms. 🙃

  • Nope. Game can still end, so you did nothing wrong.

Today had two survivors left alive on the Mother's Dwelling map. I was chasing one and she ran up to the top floor of the hunting cabin to the corner of the balcony. When I picked her up the sway made me fall off the edge and she would break free. She would run back up to the same spot. After the fourth time of this dance I thought “F* ** it, you can bleed out if you want to play this game” left her to get the other survivor. After he was dead I felt bad so picked her up just as she was about to bleed out and let her wiggle free for an escape. I could see a lot of other players wouldn’t be so soft.

I would have picked her up, dropped, her, picked her up, dropped her, and then left her to bleed out while nodding. But I'm petty. 😁

Sorry but this string of changes just scream 'We only like Survivors'. If this ain't the case, then someone needs to make them aware of this. Because as it stands, nothing in the past few months has been anything but repeated slaps in the faces of Killer players.

  • Survivors are having fun, so it will be 'Closely monitored' for the next 6-12 months, then possibly nerfed once Survivors stop abusing it. After all; can't nerf an OP perk while Survivors enjoy it! 🙃

I'm one of those that am always in favor of the DC penalty, but at this point they seriously need to just turn it off. It seems since the last update they came back in full force just to spit on what BHVR said on the last Q&A, and it's always the type that holds the game hostage until you're forced to DC from it. I'm already at half an hour penalty and I never DC for any reason other than a hacker game.

I wonder if BHVR can't just do the same as Tecent Games did with PUBG mobile and go into a lawsuit against those hacker groups: https://dotesports.com/news/tencent-krafton-to-receive-10-million-in-damages-from-pubg-mobile-hacking-group. It's not like they are a hidden group or anything, you can literally search "DBD hacks" on Google and find plenty of groups that sell them.

And the great thing; Since Tencent won the lawsuit against hack-makers; This sets a legal precedent where others can sue and win.

That's why new lawsuits are always under so much examination; Because the win or loss sets how future lawsuits can go. Tencent winning means hack makers are a legal target for lawsuits from game companies.

    Damn. That's bullshit.

I guess the only thing you can do is log the account names of everyone you play with. When a DDoS happens; get the police involved. A DDoS attack is quite illegal, and can carry fines and prison times. And the cops can subpoena the personal information of those involved.

Let's see little Timmy 13 year old crap a brick when the cops knock on his door because he felt bad he lost in DBD.

    Nah, they were on Xbox.

They just pulled my IP from a website that does that specifically for the purpose of booting. Don't worry tho, you can pay a small fee to remove your IP.

That seems ragingly illegal. If it's US based, I'd get the police involved.

  • Back when I used to stream; my steam overlay was private and my in-game name was not my twitch name.

Granted, that did not stop one baby from somehow finding me when I was playing Survivor, and send his 30 viewers to threaten and insult me because I did not trade hooks with him. His reasoning? 'I have more viewers, so I'm more important & should be the one to escape'.

The kicker, though, was the Killer in end game chat. I'm not quoting verbatim but the Killer admitted he was stream sniping Mr 30 Viewers because he had TTV in his name, listened to the man insult his teammates, and watched them sic his viewers on me. Supposedly, he'd log in to TTV names and, if they were chill; mute the stream and not stream snipe. If they were raging bleeps; he'd actively hunt them down.

He ended it with saying 'I would have given Angy the gate in front of your face, since you were so toxic. Your attitude is why I camped you.'

The streamer had an absolute meltdown while I sat there cackling like an idiot. I love karma.

  • What nerf? I mean, they SAID they nerfed it, but nerfs tend to actually make noticeable changes. 🙃

  • Honestly? Stop power buffing Survivors while power nerfing Killers.

It's like they forgot Killers are supposed to be a threat, and just throw that idea out the window with every update; more second chance perks, more Survivor-controlled Killer powers, and stupidly OP perks (CoH) and insane buffs to old perks (Boil Over).

While Killers get....Pentimento; A Hex that can only work if Survivors Cleanse totems...Right alongside Boons, which actively encourage Survivors to NOT cleanse totems!

I'm sorry but Pentimento being useless, CoH being OP as hell, Boil Over being turned godlike, and then the CoH non-nerf, and the Struggle QoL change giving Survivors a 1 second buff to wriggle-times simply because the devs can't add anything without buffing Survivors? This just screams that they literally could not care less about the Killer experience.

If that's not their intent, then they need to DO SOMETHING, because that's sure as sherbet ice cream what it looks like.

  • BHVR Will 'Look at it' for the next 12 months. Once the numbers say less Survivors are abusing the heck out of it; then, it will be ready to nerf. 😁

That's WITHOUT Undying. No perk lists effects of a DIFFERENT perk.

Undying turns into haunted Grounds, for all intents and purposes. Meaning there are still 2 HG after you cleanse one, because Undying TURNS INTO HAUNTED GROUNDS.

    So:

    1. There are 2 Haunted Grounds.
    2. You cleanse one, become Exposed.
    3. Undying turns into Haunted Grounds because Undying turns into WHATEVER WAS CLEANSED.
    4. There are now 2 Haunted Ground again.
    5. You cleanse one, become Exposed.
    6. The other one deactivates.
    7. There are now no Haunted Grounds.

This is WHY people pair Haunted Grounds and Undying together.

    Edit: Typos

  • @KramreTrac said:

But the second hex hg is suppose to turn into a dull totem if it switches with undying then we shouldn’t be exposed

    No. What happens is:

    1. You cleanse Haunted Ground. You become exposed.
    2. Undying, to all effects, BECOMES Haunted Ground, and Undying deactivates. Now, it's a new Haunted Ground.
    3. You cleanse new Haunted Ground. You become exposed.

This is how it works, and how it has worked for a long while. It's not a bug.

  • What happens is that you cleanse Haunted Grounds & get exposed. Then Hex: Undying transfers Haunted Grounds to it as normal. So when you cleanse again; it's Haunted Grounds a second time.

  • Developers: Hey! Let's take 6.25% of the wriggle meter away with the new skillchecks!

Also Developers: Hey! Let's give Survivors 25% of the wriggle meter for free if the Killer steps off a 1 foot ledge into the basement.

Also, Also Developers: What? Killers are unhappy Survivors can get 31% of the wriggle bar for minimal effort? This is a surprise!

The DC penalty is not a sentient being. It can only see that you DC'd. Not why or how.

  • While it should be changed; it won't, because it benefits Survivors.

Best thing to do is bring Lightborn if you see flashlights in the lobby, because they're probably using Cheat With Friends and want to troll with flashlight saves.
