Best change possible, if Bubba stays in or around basement when two more survivors are hooked there for too long he goes into his fury that he does when he hits a wall and automatically leaves the area.

No. In no way should control be taken away from the Killer to make Survivors happy.

I’m not the only one who “Thinks” it’s an exploit, I know it’s an exploit and many others do as well too so…

Congrats; you're all wrong. Saying 'A bunch of us think it's an exploit' does not turn it into an exploit. The power of groupthink does not work here.

Exactly, that’s why if I get downed by a blight or see my teammates go down by a blight exploiting I don’t see it as a loss or even an outplay, it’s just the killer using an exploit that shouldn’t even be possible.

Except it's not an exploit because we all know the devs fix Killer exploits in under 24 hours.

Just because YOU think it's an exploit does not mean the game should be changed to fit your opinion. The Survivor Rulebook For Killers is not real.

  • @ThiccBudhha said:

Other than dodging the obvious ones, not really. They only plan to address this by buffing solo survivors. Nothing for killer, really, as per the standard.

    Don't you love that?

    1. Balance Killers around SoloQ
    2. Admit SWFs are super powerful.
    3. Buff SoloQ closer to SWF level.
    4. Ignore Killers.
    5. Profit.

Ah yes, the ancient game development art of 'Cater only to one side's fun'.

Odd it's not showing what this is. it's the cartoon theme.

  • If you do; make sure your profile is set to private, as you will get '- rep' Survivors projecting their loss onto you.

IE: They did not lose, because you 'clearly' camped, slugged, tunneled, used OP perks, used OP Killers, did not give the hatch/gate (also known as 'sweating for the 4K' and 'Be happy with a 3K' or 'Stop being a tryhard') etc. etc.

  • I was hoping for something from The Merkins.

  • Killers get an uncleansable totem:

Devs: Remove it! Fix it right away! This is a MASSIVE PROBLEM! Survivors are unhappy!

Survivors can abuse Boil OPver to drag games out for 40+ minutes:

    Devs: Meh? Just deal.

I wonder why Survivor queues are so long... 🙃

    Basically;

    1. Pick Blight
    2. Raccoon City Police Department and without map offerings, even
    3. They're vaulting anyways or just hanging around the tricky corners so I have a much harder time using Blighty boy's M2
    4. Get tired of this ######### in five minutes
    5. Leave
    6. The ban timer is 30 minutes(does imply I've left matches before, some matches were just ######### and some days I tend to tilt more than I want compared to others)

I've essentially been meaning to come to the forums or to some other outlet to try and give some honest feedback about the game but between not having a good outlet and feeling like I'll be ignored, told something ridiculous or be lost in the cacophony of voices I'm done caring.

I'm willing to give good feedback if given the oppertunity but you guys need to pick up the slack, this game isn't even alpha testing quality, it's less than that. Also, ban timer being 15 minutes to begin with was bad, should have been 10 minutes and the fact that it can go to 30 is dumb. Also, ban timer or not, there needs to be a surrender option for hopeless rounds for starters.

Also, the survivor business has never been better, I played survivor instead and I get out on 2/3rds of my matches too which is probably overtuned.

I know the typical forumgoer is going to look for an excuse to get stupid but in spite of my basically calling the devs goofuses I'm also going to moderate my thread a bit in addition to what Peanuts does, so be nice lads, and discuss.

ban timer being 15 minutes to begin with was bad

    It starts at 5 minutes.

    should have been 10 minutes

Good news; it starts at 5 minutes.

the fact that it can go to 30 is dumb

I believe it can go up to 24 hours? But that's good; people who hit that cap are ruining allot of matches.

there needs to be a surrender option for hopeless rounds for starters

No. Everyone would use it the moment they start to lose. I'm a Killer going against a 3-4 man SWF & I start to win? Players vote to quit the match.

Survivors starting to win? Killer votes to quit the match.

You don't get to dodge the DC timer because you're losing. The game is not only here to let you win. If you can't hand that you're going to lose some in a PvP game; don't play. 🤷‍♂️

  • Hex Pentimento: The Hex that requires Survivors to cleanse.

Boon Totems: A mechanic that encourages Survivors to not cleanse.

Boy, real thought went into that Killer hex, huh? 'Let's add a hex based on Cleansing at literally the same time we make Cleansing outdated. That will make Killers happy! 🙃'

  • Take: Lithe should be baskit.

Reason: Because OP does not want to get caught.

    Low quality bait.

I think both sides should just play the game and stop trying to farm or throw for challenges. That'd be awesome. Hate it when I load in and the killer is tapping a gen or the survivors are pointing at a hook. I'm not farming.

Yeah. Gotta love logging in to play the game, and the Survivors reee in the end game chat 'OMG! We were making motions we wanted to farm! Why are you selfish?!'

Sorry but the Killer role does not come with free mind reading powers. If I want to play normally, I'm not the selfish one.

  • Translation: Killers, remember to feel bad if you don't bow to your Survivor overlords and ensure they are OK with you trying to win! Remember; you can't win if Survivors have a challenge to do! Their fun comes before your attempts to win!

Seriously; the Killer is your damn opponent, not your buddy. Do you really expect Killers to log into a match and figure out if you're trying to do a challenge, and then expect them to let you/help you do that challenge?

And you expected this to be so normalized that you came on here to shame/'remind' Killers of their apparent duty to Survivors?

The Killer ain't an employee there to pat you on the head and ensure you had fun and did all you want. They're called 'Challenges' and not 'Farm with the Killer' for a reason.

  • Honestly, No Mither should:

    1. Be hidden from the Killer until hit. (IE: You look healthy to the Killer until he hits you once. Then you always appear injured.)
    2. Make instant-down attacks require 2 hits to down you, since M1 hits down you in 1 hit.

NOED, the only perk that can be disabled before it even takes effect, yet people consistently complain that the work it takes to do such a feat is too much.

Of course, if you ask the simple question "well, what amount of effort would be appropriate to fully remove a killer perk before it ever activates?" you don't get a response, because the people complaining don't want to admit that for them, it's 0.

I love the suggestion 'Why not just have it be on 1 totem from the start?'. I always have to wonder if they have 0 clue this would render the perk completely unusable, or if that's what they want. Let's just take this one perk that's not even a threat until end game and allow Survivors to do 1 totem to remove it. Sure. 😆

I also, legit, don't understand the 'it's unhealthy for the game' comments. How? It's a perk that can be deactivated by doing bones. But apparently a perk that forces Survivors off gens is 'unhealthy'? I guess gen slowdown is just unhealthy. 🤷‍♂️

  • Imagine thinking Salty Survivors sending hate messages is a metric to shun Killers by.

I had to set my Steam profile to private because Survivors would blame any and all losses on me camping, tunneling, or slugging, evne if I never did any of that. Literally every other game had that inane '- rep camper!' idiocy.

Usually after matches where I hooked someone and turned around to see their friend expecting me to walk away like a gentleman so they could unhook. Of course; I chased them, but I was the 'camper' because I did not give them the unhook. 🤡

  • @Mr_K said:

Killers that can one shot the whole match. Not a problem.

Killer that can one shot due to a perk/addon before gens are completed. Not a problem.

Killer that one shots due to an end game perk. Blasphemy.

NOED gets a bad rap because survivors believe they won once the last gen is powered. The killer wiping the team after this point hurts their sense of accomplishment.

Exactly. Survivors have pointed to a made-up, arbitrary win scenario (5th gen popped) and said "Killers have failed' or 'Killers have basically lost'. They then use THAT to claim it's a flaw with NoED, as it now 'rewards failure' instead of the truth; that it's an end-game perk.

They also ignore the fact that, if NoED lasts until it triggers; Either Survivors were lazy, or the Killer out played them. But neither sounds as good as 'It gives unearned kills! 😫 '

Imagine unironically thinking at this point that survivors are still the power role... dude, you need to put more hours, you seriously lack knowledge of the current state of the game.

4 second-chance meta perks each, controlling the speed of the game via the gens, getting a free 6.25% (1 second) off the wriggle meter for no reason, another free 25% if the Killer drops 3+ inches with one of those second-chance perks, infinite healing with Circle of OP...

But Survivors aren't the power role. Sure.

  • @Aidan_fowl said:

Im starting to think that killers just want survivors to be able to walk and be dead on first hook at this point.

And some Survivors just want Killers to hit them, but never be able to kill them. Your point?

  • Winning is not toxic, so long as you're not cheating or abusing exploits. Anyone who says otherwise is a sore loser.

  • No. Survivors don't need yet more information spoon-fed them to help them turn off yet more Killer perks via avoiding/breaking Scourge hooks.

  • 99% of the time someone tells you '<x> is bannable!' and it's not cheating, exploiting glitches,or preventing a match from ending forever; they're lying.

dont blame others because of the way your play. You don’t need to camper to have fun

You don't need to do gens to have fun.

See, players thinking they can decide what's 'fun', and then thinking they can ENFORCE what they think is 'fun' is part of the problem with DBD.

It's what gave rise to that Survivor Rulebook For Killers meme, after all; Survivors deciding they could put their 'fun' above the Killer's agency to play how they want.

  • It would certainly allow the devs to finally balance the game around SWFs. But every time I've suggested this, people have a ton of vague reasons why it won't work for DBD, even though voice chat has worked for every other multiplayer game.

bruvs do you think that they coded the game so that the skillchecks are psychic and can predict the moment you get off gens? You're arguments are flawed because you view these impossible skillchecks as rewards to the killer. I am a killer and survivor player and these skillchecks happen to me atleast once a game. Even if it is intended, it is completely stupid and I don't see a point in punishing players who would rather do a different objective. I sincerely hope you don't complain about gen rushing, because you're only solution is that survivors should stay on gens instead of doing something else.

    What? Psychic? No.

I'm saying the game could be programmed to literally roll 0-100 for a skillcheck if you hold shift while leaving a gen. If it gets a 41 or higher; the gen pops. That would be a 60% chance to cause a skillcheck if a Survivor 'hastily' leaves a generator.

But it could be programmed to only do this if it's been 5+ seconds after the last skillcheck. Thus; leaving right after popping a skillcheck won't pop a skillcheck. No psychic powers needed.

Even if it is intended, it is completely stupid and I don't see a point in punishing players who would rather do a different objective

And I see it as punishing Survivors for leaving the gen in haste. Sorry, but your point of view does not make mine wrong.

Are you kidding me? A function that won't work? I gave you a solution to EVERY one of your counter arguments. You basically just admitted you are out of ideas against it by saying iT JuSt wOnT woRK!!!!111

I am thinking, clearly, by giving you solutions to the problems you see behind it. The one who is struck by their own gridlocked mind is you. Give me a reason against it for which there is no solution and I might reconsider.

But go ahead, flee from the argument you have lost.

Your solutions cause MORE problems. The simple fact is that, and read this very slowly so you understand it: Not. Every. Game. Needs. Drop In/Out. Functionality.

This game would not work with it. It's too abusable. Pausing? Really?

How about being able to log out when downed, then wait to log back in until you're safe? Oh, it puts you near the Killer? Ok, now the Killer still has to find & pick you up. Not to mention how it may put you on separate floors in a map like The Game. Or behind a wall, if the Killer is near one.

You wait to let you log in until the Killer is not in a chase? Sure. But again; could spawn you someplace the Killer cannot reach right away.

The bottom line is that THIS GAME IS NOT MADE FOR THIS FUNCTION TO WORK. Just because 'other games have it!' does not mean THIS game needs it. You're wrong. It happens to everyone.

But keep thinking you 'won' by screaming louder. Peace. ✌️

  • Here's a shocking fact: Not every game has to be like every other game! 😱

You wanting a function that won't work is very much a you problem, not a dev problem. But I'm out. It's clear you can't think of anyone but yourself, so have fun asking for something that would never work. Hope you like waiting forever to get it.

Have fun thinking of only yourself. Just don't blast the devs over it.

  • @fixthis said:

Make the reconnect wait until the chase is over for X second or not carrying someone anymore or not being in a radius of X meters of another survivor.

Give SWFs the option to pause the game, when someone drops out. If they refuse, the one who dropped out can't reconnect.

It's not a ME problem, sorry, this is a problem because of people like you, who apparently can't think further than they can see. For whatever reason you can give that speaks against a reconnect, there can be a solution. This is not a universal physical law we're talking about, but a game.

You're adding so many rules and caveats and now pausing? Sure! I'd love for SWFs to troll me by DCing when I down someone, then voting to PAUSE THE GAME because they can. 🙄

It's a you problem because you can't think past 'I want this' and are willing to ignore every problem it creates to get what you want.

Sorry but not every game needs drop in/out ability, and this game does not have it. If you can't see past your own nose as to why this would be horrible for the game; that's a you problem. Very much a you problem.

  • @fixthis said:

1.) The game is not in any way balanced against anything.

2.) Then give the one reconnecting a disadvantage like being downed, spawned close to the killer and giving them a notification or if they were being carried by the killer, put him back on their shoulders.

But sure, let's not even try to think of a solution. 😍

    1. Not a good reason.
    2. And what happens if the Killer is in a chase, and suddenly has a Survivor on his shoulders? Or is already carrying a Survivor? Also; SWFs would happily DC when being downed by the KILLER, then log back in to get picked up by their friend. Their SWF buddy could tell them when the Killer is already carrying someone, so they log back in, safe from being picked up, and get saved.

The game is in no way geared for drop in/drop out gameplay. This is not a Developer problem; it's a YOU problem. Sorry.

  • Or it's because the game is not in any way balanced against drop in/drop out play?

I mean, far be it from me to point out that someone could DC when they're about to be hooked, then log back in to continue doing gens, and thus never get hooked.

Or they DC when downed, then log back in once their SWF friend says the Killer is on the opposite side of the map.

But sure; it's a skill issue and not a balance issue. 🙃

I generally agree with your posts, but constantly spewing out 'Us vs Them' posts doesn't fix anything. It's just annoying

Sorry, just somewhat bitter over these last few updates:

    1. Pentimento being basically a non-perk, since it was added around the same time as Boons. Boons, which encourage Survivors to NOT Cleanse totems. Thus, a perk relying on Cleansing was added at the same time as anti-cleansing. Feels like a middle finger.
    2. CoH was seen to be OP, still added. 'Will be looked at'. Sure.
    3. CoH was 'nerfed'. The nerf SOUNDS big (25%) but it's 4 seconds. This feels like ANOTHER slap to Killers; just something done to appease them while carefully not removing the problems with the perk.
    4. And now Boil Over; seen as a problem on the PTB. Still brought over live. Yet another ANOTHER slap to Killers.

Even if it's not actually true; the optics of these last few updates paint a loud 'We don't care about Killers' picture.

  • @GannTM said:

Boil Over isn’t OP. If players are trying to win, Boil Over isn’t impactful at all. The problem is that Boil Over incentivizes gameplay that drags games out for generation and is just boring for everyone. Boil Over honestly needs a complete rework because there’s just no hope for the perk in its current form.

Boil Over can, on most maps, render Survivors literally unhookable. That's the definition of OP.

  • Survivors are allowed to 'Hook DC' but Killers are not allowed to 'crash' when there's a map offering to take advantage of Boil OPver?

  • Because Survivors love their OP perks while screaming to nerf NoED and yelling that the game and forums are clearly Killer-sided. 🙃

Never seen anyone try to tell me DBD is the greatest horror game ever made or one of the greatest games of the past 10 years. I have FNAF fans telling me FNAF is, though. Which probably irritates people due to FNAF being lower effort than Newgrounds games from 07. It boils down to basically being a still image with a series of simon says/qte like events occuring. If you miss one, the game then pauses to load jumpscare.mp4 That's it. That's the whole game when you boil it down. Still background images that you can go through with security cameras, some QTE like events you must do or lose, and then the game playing a jumpscare video file when you fail.

Kind of annoys people when you have a ton of people telling you THAT is one of the greatest horror games ever. Borders on offensive, even, if you really like the genre. Hey you know what is an infinitely better horror game from the past decade, that was also made by like one guy? Phasmophobia. And it actually has gameplay besides "DO THIS OR A JUMPSCARE PLAYS AHHHH." I probably wouldn't get annoyed if I didn't genuinely have lots of people telling me these low effort games are deserving of awards and such. You can like something while admitting it's not a great example of quality in its medium.

Granted some of the later games such as security breach actually have effort put into them. Enough I can consider them an actual game and not a newgrounds tier flash.

I can add to this as well. People in Phasmophobia commenting at least once a week 'OMG! You should do FNAF jumpscares because FNAF!' Every week, another 'Add jumpscares because FNAAFFFFFF!' post has made me hate the FNAF crowd.

Then again, there's also the 'You should be able to play as the ghosts, like in DBD' crowd, too. It like some people see a game and go 'How can I stuff my favorite game into THIS game like a fetid corpse in an animatronic?'

Oh no, the team of one person can equip perks that give them an advantage over the team of four if said team doesn't also bring good perks!

I... yes? That is what it being an asymmetrical game means? Are you trying to propose that because there are more Survivors, they should always be able to have an advantage once perks are considered?

    It's Sluzzy, so probably yes.

  • I served my time. And I think they got tired of me rattling the bars. Very noisy.

  • No. Until they fix Boil OPver, all Killers have almost a right to bail when they see offerings taking them to RPD, because it's clear it's going to be abused for literal immunity from hooking.

  • Because FNAF is not horror. It's lazy jump scares.

That's like saying those 'Look at the image and see what's wrong' screamer videos back in the early 2000's are horror because they flashed an image and blew out your speakers with a screech.

Jump scares are low-effort tripe that surprises people, so the creators can claim 'Muh game/movie is scary because LOUD NOISE! Who needs writing, pacing, or atmosphere!? I'm gud horror master! 🤪"

I wonder why Killers are leaving the game...

  • Considering how massively Survivors have been coddled lately; I'm waiting for the announcement that camping/slugging/tunneling are now reportable because they make Survivors sad.

  • What nerf? The devs said they nerfed it but nothing noticeable changed. 🙃

  • I seem to have to say this in every disconnect thread:

It is not possible for the game to know WHY you disconnected. All it sees is 'connection gone'. And, in this situation, steam then gave YOU an error code. Not the game. To the game; a steam turning off is same as you force closing the game is same as your power going out is same as you unplugging your router is same as your cat stepping on your surge protector.

Every single one is just 'You disappeared' to the game. And it's impossible for the game to know why, because you're gone. There's 0 communication between your game and the server once you're gone.

1 … 9 10 11 12 13 … 33
