As of patch 5.7.1 my ini started working again without any changes being necessary. I use the GarbageCollectionSettings line.
Not sure if BHVR listened to us or all of this were accidents. The AA enabling was an accident or disabling it again is. Either way, we are free from AA once more.
It works on Steam, but not other PC platforms, at least windows store :(

I seem not to be able on Windows Store, I was able until last patch :(

That lack of graphical options on PC is a bit of a shocker I must say. I can understand them wanting to keep it running as optimal as possible on consoles but on PC it is a bit disappointing
AA actually makes games less optimized to “look better” so in any case forcing it on console is a bad idea and should be an option to chage in both PC and console

It was removed for various reasons:
-Both devs and license holders decided that the best solution was to remove all masks, recognising that even if it's a fiction videogame, real players would take part of this mechanic to blackface in a multiplayer videogame. Lore or the fact of being a videogame are not an excuse to justify the capacity to be able to blackface making it look harmless. The fact that people cared too much about smartface and not the other 3 speaks by itself.
-Blackfacing is a racist thing itself that shouldn't even be discussed about why. Just a way to mock black people, and most of the people of this minority doesn't like this: https://www.vox.com/2014/10/29/7089591/why-is-blackface-offensive-halloween-costume
Why these Halloween costumes aren't ok, explained.-No one really cared about getting and using the other 3 faces, people just wanted the Claudette one, I bet no one here has ever faced a leatherface with any cosmetic that isn't the default or smartface one while it was possible. By this then, everyone would get tunneled to death just because they are playing claudette, the only free black character.
-Since its appearance, it has been a tool to target black streamers and make racist comments. Yes the offenders would probably get easily punished, but by the years it kept happening and it's frustrating as hell and traumatic just being targeted once because of your skin color condition, but of course, white people never had to worry about it or know the pain. (Note: people keep saying it's twitter fault, but the movement to remove it started there by black people showing their experience and they got a lot of attention and support to make it happen, that's just what happened).
If you want the words of black content creators and their experience and arguments, I really recommend this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RE7RZv_dhC0

Victor is not getting an octopus costume because that's not a pirate hat. That's just part of common French outfits from around the 18th century

notice that they don't allow clip recording on nintendo switch, suposedly for performance, but that patch didn't do anything

Nor does someone misusing it and hitting it too late and getting downed prove it either.
Devs haven't listed they reverted the dead hard validation check. So we can only go off it's the same as it's been since the change.
What the picture proved. Is just how broken and unhealthy dead hard is for the game.
the only thing your picture tells me is despite the perk is overused it didn't help them to survive and 3 of them didn't even get 10k points, not sure how that shows it's broken and unhealthy.
True is Dead Hard is strong, but there are barely some other good perks in the game, dh is one of the few decent ones, and that's the reason why you see it a lot
-
people still using it doesn't prove it's working as intended
-
I researched this around youtubers/devs’s tweets years ago because I found it a curious topic.
Just a system they started using around the Freddy chapter, a country/city name devs would use to refer to chapters in development without saying out loud the license/character name around the office avoiding leaks, but a while ago they started using names related to the universe for chapters and tomes.
Super cool, but they never gave any hints
-
This perk is insanely good I prefer it over ruin, wouldn’t be mad if it became basekit as it rewards constantly kicking the same gen to get that minute of value every time

if you play on PC you can use low settings to make the FL bean an opaque effect instead of lighting. Switch has it by default too. Unfortunately low settings, specially for performance as requested, haven't been addressed on PS and Xbox platforms

all this doesn't do anything with the fact that you made really weird comments about her that you made too before editing

She is older in DbD. All chars have to be adults in this game or ther are problems. They also stated this somewhere.
she’s canonically a minor and using the argument of “in the game she’s older” as excuse for thirsty stuff is straight up weird and disgusting

considering op has unironically asked for swf to be deleted on several occasions and begged for bhvr to stop nerfing killers, im still not entirely convinced this one is satire.
so u actually must take Sluzzy seriously
-
you got a hint twice about how this post is satire
-
tentatively doesnt mean completely, might not have worked for you but for others maybe it did, it's also the PTB they will track this to have a solution for live release, but again, BHVR can't completely solve a total disconnect Valve does to Steam forcedly

Complain to Steam not BHVR, they do this weekly maintenance since history was made

I don't think they can actually do that, seeing as they don't own the design and it's outside the bounds of the contest it was created for.
In the contest rules they stated that when you submit your design you automatically give all its rights to BHVR even if the design didn't win

Maybe I misunderstood you but you seemed to be under the impression that the original poster was asking about something the devs don't consider to be cheating. I was just pointing out that's not the case.
I simply said devs don't ban players from their games because they stretched the screen when it's native for some and needed for wide monitors
-
@dugman said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2649773#Comment_2649773
FYI Notqueen mentioned at some point a while back that the devs do consider using stretched res to see over obstacles to be an exploit. And Dowsey at one point mentioned that Fog Whisperers were told a while back that using stretched res could be considered a violation of the program.
Obviously they haven’t put in a technical fix to stop it, but they do consider it to be cheating.
ok but that does nothing with my comment

Overwatch, CSGO tournaments ban it, not the general ranked play though. I believe Fortnite aswell
Those are not devs bans examples, and fortnite has applied a forced aspect ratio in most cases possible, but no one bans their playerbase for having a different resolution to most while it could be the base native of an squared or wide monitor
-
I am willing to know which games bans people for stretching the screen as you mentioned since it's the main resource to fix resolution for wide monitors

can a thousand hundred eleven megs beat goku?

######### no, everyone wants an All Kill themed map but an indoor map and with the structure of Hawkins would be terrible and people would dislike the fact that it’s the same map and recycled

Nothing I said stops you from doing anything you said. My suggestion just presents it from being spammable for minutes on end.
No one does clicking for over ten seconds, “wasting minutes” on it sounds good on the killer side because they aren’t doing gens, doesn’t it?

1. I played mainly survivor back in 2018, so I never really had to worry about flashlights.
2. My migraines are only triggered by fast flashing light so the gen explosions, Doctor's shocks, Visuals on Lery's, etc doesn't bother me because it isn't really fast.
3. I rarely ever experience flashlight clicking. But when I do I usually don't mind it, but this was really fast and straight into my eyes from breaking pallets and vaulting windows, where I was locked into an animation.
I’ve had migraines once too. Speaking with doctor had let me known they’re not just triggered by strong or fast lightings but with a mix of stress or anger held for long, tried to do more research now and don’t see there is a more specific type of migraine that triggers just by a flash spam, sounds like a different type of illness I’m not aware or have enough knowledge

Then pay the one second charge. You can still do that. You just can't do EIGHT SEVEN TIMES like you can now. This would actually give batteries value. Flashlights already have ten times the shelf life of Medkits and Toolboxes as they are currently implemented.
There’s just no positive reasoning for that and removes important game mechanics, just because “killers can be sad on how they interpret it” isn’t a reason, by the same logic there should be penalties to killers too such as slugging, camp or tunnel, which are game mechanics but the other side can hate it or interpret it in a toxic context.
You bring an item to get positive boosts and not to carefully use it because you could pay a high price for nothing.
-
@WesCravenFan said:
All they have to is code a flashlight to always consume a minimum of one charge when activated.
That is it. Flashlight is fixed. Boom.
This has no effect on trap removal, zombie blinds, or killer saves. Those features (which take a minimum of second anyway), would be totally unaffected and the flashlights' base function remains unchanged.
What if you want to call the attention of a team mate or distract the killer to make them chase you or lose someone from sight for a bit
-
Saw in a post you play dbd since 2018, when flashlights produced a higher intensity beam before their graphic rework on the effect they produce for the killer and the visual they have, not sure why just now it’s a medical problem for you and not before, and if we get into things that produce lights, you can also complain about doctor shocks, nurse blink balls, gen explosions after you break them, the visuals of Lery’s…
There are many many things that “produce light” in the game that aren’t flashlights, it’s not a game made for light-sensitive people and if we wanted to make it accessible half of the assets would need to change and the game aesthetics would drastically change.
-
No not anymore ######### them pls hoping they get ruined bc of their nft fiasco
-
Because a perk is very good against 1/25 killers or by the sole reason that they are getting a fair counterplay you dont need to nerf it.
should we then also nerf the perk calm spirit for clown, doctor and the cenobite?

Well niva filters are different to changing contrast on a tv etc. And no most things arent the same or possible on console especially as easy as PC is.
Dont act like all those features arent more common on a pc... sure maybe some console player stick a cheerio on their screen for a cross hair lol but all of these features are way easier, more common and drastic on a pc.
ofc it's easier in PC but that doesn't mean console can't
-
@EntitySpawn said:
I'm on xbox, I'd do the same but I'm worried about killer queues. Let me know how queues are and what sorta skill you are and the time you play?
If I could avoid just pc and keep playstation I would. It's a shame but sadly there are pc players that ruin alot of crossplay games... there are some lovely pc players but considering theres alot of toxic players, hackers, people using things to aid gameplay like crosshairs, filters, stretch res etc. It just puts me off
You speak like if consoles couldn’t use all those with the right monitors, because they aint a PC exclusivity

there is already, bloodpoints, as you said, the more you play the more you get, seems fair and a good gift for me.
It's not for difficulty or skill, literally just an indicator of how much you and your matched players have played the current month.
-
I mean, technically you can already in the second stage of tutorials which is survive with and kill bots
but actually there is a mode like dbd mobile needed, where you can select the survivors, the killer, their difficulty, the map, perks, ... We need that

please don't call hackers modders, it's insulting

using voice comms is NOT cheating
This is not what the game rules say.
From the rules page:
Using 3rd party software or other tools to gain any kind of unfair advantage that wasn’t intended by the game, except if they have been whitelisted by us. We are not banning for the use of communication apps.
If using voice chat was not cheating then it wouldn't have to be explicitly listed here. The rules don't say "Voice chat is not cheating", they say "We don't ban you if you use it". There is a difference. If you use voice chat then you acknowledge that you are cheating by giving yourself an advantage that is not intended by the game, but, even though this technically falls under the definition of cheating, no bans are issued for it.
This is an important distinction for players who want to play as intended - they don't use voice chat or any other communication outside of the game, because the game rules as written define that as cheating. It's allowed, in a manner similar to house rules that are sometimes used for board games for example. It is allowed to use your own "house rule" by using communication tools without penalties (= bans) but you are still technically breaking the rules and not playing as intended. If you want to play the game as intended you need to follow the rules.
Using a controller while playing on PC for example is not listed in the game as something that bans are issued for because it doesn't have to be, because it's obviously not cheating. Communication tools do fall under the definition of cheating though, so the exception must be listed if there are not supposed to be bans for using them.
If using communication tools outside of the game is not supposed to be considered cheating then the rules page must be rewritten to clarify that. As the rules are written it falls under cheating. An easy fix would would be to change "We are not banning for the use of communication apps." to "The use of communication apps is not considered cheating.".

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2533928#Comment_2533928
I have explained why the rules as written say that using communication outside of the game is cheating. I am not making any presumptions about what the developers actually intend the rules to be, I am going only off how they are written. If you disagree please point out why it does not say that or where I am going wrong in my argumentation. I have also provided a suggestion how this can be fixed quite easily at the bottom of my post - please feel free to edit the game rules page if you can do this yourself or forward the suggestion forward to who is responsible for editing these articles.
It is entirely possible that I am wrong, but the the way the rules are written I don't see any room for interpretation going solely off the rules page. If the intent of the rules is that using communication outside of the game is not cheating then the rules should be clarified (for example as I have suggested at the bottom of my post) because they are not written that way (as I think I have argued fairly objectively in my post).
it's not up to you to decide what is cheating or not, we wouldn't endorse something that actively breaks the rules otherwise.
Please point out where in my post it makes you think I am trying to dictate what is and what isn't cheating. That was not my intention and I will edit the parts that are unclear. My intention was to point out why the rules, as written, say that using communication tools outside the game is cheating. As far as I know forum moderators don't have special "administrative" (in terms of the game, not the forum) permission which is why I posted that I disagree with what I perceive as your personal opinion and pointed out that the rules, as written, do not support your claim which again, I think is your personal opinion and not "official information" or an official "ruling".
I am sorry that you feel so attacked by my post that you need to resort to personal attack (the last paragraph - it is unnecessary and to me reads as nothing but a personal attack) but even if your post is "official / administrative" information / an official "ruling" your last paragraph is uncalled for and I would like to request that in the future you refrain from personal attacks. I did not attack you in my post, I would like to request that you show me the same respect and don't personally attack me either. If a part of my post is offensive to you or can be considered as a personal attack then please point it out and I will edit it. Attacking you was not my intention. Please feel free (or any other forum moderator) to edit out this paragraph of this post if you remove your last paragraph.
Please feel free (or anyone else) to make a constructive post pointing out where I am going wrong in my reading of the rules. I am only going by the rules as written because I don't have any insight into what the developers are thinking, which is something you might have.
People like you and other thousands of users here is exactly why devs do good giving no ######### on listening to player feedback
