I want to play plague, but I can't hit the broad side of a barn with Huntress's hatchets, what would I even be able to do with Plague's Corrupt Purge?

Precision is less important with corrupt, just charge it up and spray it all in their general direction. It's more important with vile purge where you want as much of the spray as possible to go into them - survivors often start dodging and spinning as soon as you start charging it so just back up and unleash it all into them. Or you can just splash them with a bit of it and go after someone else leaving them to break or cleanse on their own.

  • I wouldn't hold out too much hope, they announce things they're going to do in anniversary streams then never mention them again.

Jokes on you im a no mither gamer XD.

A good build for this (as i recently saw an uptick in plagues I started using this build) is no mither, DS, resilience and DH. This build actually puts in work.

    Or my stealthy NM build:

Lightweight, iron will, no mither, resilience.

Fun to play every once in a while, maybe swap lightweight for calm spirit if you feel spicy.

I've gone against a no mither player as plague who kept cleansing. Bet his teammates were happy with him.

  • Hawkins is a good map for most killers, including clown. Don't chase survivors for long periods they're injured or not. And definitely don't chase one survivor for 5 gens and then dc, that's more fitting of a rank 20 than a rank 6.

No. Please don't do this, we already have Myers and I like my extra reach on tier 3. Nemesis is fine; learn to play him and quit begging for buffs, because the buffs for Killers always come with ill-conceived nerfs elsewhere that entirely ruin the Killer.

? I made this comment ages ago. I still think tier 3 is underwhelming but I'm not massively invested in it. I played him, got my adept, unlocked the perks and am back to my regular killers.

its not a waste of time im doing the community a favor to get these nihilistic players from playing dbd

Well you aren't really doing anyone a favour because no one would be banned from this. You're allowed to block survivors in corners for short periods. Both chainsaw killers, plague, and trapper are allowed to get a free one-shot out of it. Pig is allowed to keep you there with a ticking timer until your head explodes. Any killer can keep you there the rest of the match once EGC has started until you die.

Are some of those cruel? Yes. Bannable? No.

    Keep out of the corners

  • As a plague, keep doing this please

    @SCREAM_FOR_ME said:

Eitherway, I would still report you for unsportmanship.

you can waste your time in that way if you like

  • They should also double the amount of pallets, just for fun

  • Keys, but only if it's a last second switch. And formerly multiple blendettes (friendly or otherwise)

  • Ooo used to work like this before undetectable, you could see crouched pigs and cloaked wraiths, it destroyed ghostface more than any of them, only tier 1 Myers and old Freddy were immune.

Spine chill works well enough on stealth killers and the only two killers I can think of that go fully invisible are wraith and spirit, I think wraith is counterable enough anyway and spirit isn't but being able to see her all times would actually destroy her, way more than iron will or spine chill, and again is using perks to fix balance issues which I want bhvr to do less of really.

  • mostly just grumpy that expanding bot matches turned out to not be a thing, but I'm glad they updated it for new players.

That it's easy to dodge and loop the killer. I've been playing for a couple years and I'm just not good at it. I'm older though, in my 50s, so that's my excuse. My teenagers got me into the game a couple years ago. The yellow glyph skill checks... couldn't do it, so I gave up on it. Maybe I have a slower reaction time. Who knows. I have almost 3000 hours in the game, so I'm just saying.

Every once in a while, I'll get toxic players purposely try to bring the killer to me. I guess, because they want me to be more bold, or not play stealth. Who knows.

I've gotten better at using pallets, but not against killers like the Trickster, Huntress, etc, that can just go through it.

It's always nice to see older players :) anyway there's no minimum level of skill required per hour played as long as you're having fun. Hopefully MMR will even matches out a bit so you don't get stuck with killers with cat-like reflexes and teammates who demand perfection.

With the ranged killers it's often better to drop the pallet early. Especially with the likes of deathslinger and trickster, I'd drop it very early or not at all.

I mean tbf, it is a bit embarrassing to see people complain about Noed when they themselves are kitted out with second chances. Still, both those profiles are defo kinda silly, lol.

Just let people play the game and let them run what they want...

    They're the entitled ones lol

I wasn't running any of the forbidden perks mentioned on the first game (I did have a flashlight but it got franklins'd) I got facecamped then insta-rehooked on the first game while the others escaped and I still wouldn't have said anything in postgame bc play how you want but he started screaming about how bad we all were.

But owing to that match I did put on DS which is where the second one came in, you'll be shocked to know it ended up getting used

I keep getting blinded but don't drop the survivor. Even got my first ever perfectly timed flashlight save got the blind score event and he just couple secs later hooked them anyhow. So my pov says nerfed.

You sure you weren't slightly too early? I got a save yesterday so they seem normal to me

  • Two purple addons on trickster (or that iri instadown) and you can get downs pretty much as fast as bubba...who is also not better than nurse. Especially against survivors like in that video who stand still, spin in circles on the spot, and drop pallets from the wrong side (I usually hate it when people go "oh the survivors were just bad" but cmon)

Trickster isn't a bad killer anymore and is pretty miserable to go against but people are getting very overexcited over him. Although if saying he's better than nurse will get him reworked into something interesting than I will say here and now with God as my witness that trickster is better than nurse, and may I be struck down if I'm lying.

  • As the devs love their stats I'd be interested to know Billy's current pick rate

  • If it makes you feel any better they probably say that to every killer. Unfortunately you need to develop a thick skin because those types aren't going anywhere. You shouldn't have to but it is what it is.

  • I just got it and a feng crashed (her model kept running into the wall for about a minute before the DC). I crashed myself 30 seconds after. An amazing gameplay experience

  • Nerf wraith

    Buff spirit

  • Eh, maybe as a glyph related thing.

  • This does look obnoxious but the title is a bit clickbaitish. A lot of those downs were out in the open and other killers (i.e. bubba) would've had them down equally fast. If we're taking addons into account pinky finger clown would be faster (plus trickster's own ultra rare probably) Also survivors dcing is not always a good indicator of how overpowered something is or not, I've had survivors dc against padded jaws trapper.

Again I'm talking about balance not fun, trickster is unfun to go against and with this I'm sure even less so.

  • I thought all your games were SWF already?

  • Do they stay like that? Does it have a hitbox on the floor, can you interact with it?

Well I prefer when survivors loop because its more fun and more chances to outplay the other player. Different people complain about different things. Contrary to popular belief killer players aren't all one massive hivemind that see the game in the same way.

Right?? I can't complain about holding W without someone going "well first you complain about survivors looping and now-"

    Except no I didn't?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/269371/any-tips-for-flashlight-saves-etc-thanks-in-advance

    1. down the Survivor
    2. pretend to pick up the Survivor. Look down with your head and if youre playing Killers like Demo, who can fake the grab, press CTRL but dont finish the Animation (for a portal ir whatever). This way you can fake a Grab.
    3. A wild Survivor appeared!
    4. Quickly turn around and smack her/him.
    5. repeat if he/she stays nearby. After like 2-4 Times of Faking just grab the downed Survivor and make sure to look towards a Wall or a big Rock! You could also spin around like doing a 360 before the Grab to confuse the Bunny Feng with her Flashlight!
    6. Profit.

You really dont need Franklins but you can take it with you, if 3 or 4 Flashlight got picked.

Good advice but the OP wants to get flashlight saves, not avoid them

  • It doesn't matter what flashlight it is really, a yellow works fine, the timing does have to be right though. Just start blinding as the killer 'bounces' the downed survivor on their shoulder. I just practiced the timing with two friends in kyf once and since then if I'm well positioned I'll usually hit it.

  • @DeathByGiggles I think you were the one who wrote or published the dev diary where they were mentioned, could you clarify?

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Seems like Killers really got used to be carried by Dedicated Servers and their shenanigans. I did not get many Pallet Hits in the first place when playing Killer, glad that I dont get the short end of the stick with both roles now, just because I have very good Ping.

Same here my ping is usually around 30 and I'm not used to getting many pallet hits anyway unless the timing and distances are just right, so it's extra irritating playing survivor and having things happen where in this order I drop the pallet, it hits the ground, the killer swings, the killer gets stunned, and then I get hit - usually at the hands of a wraith or huntress playing from an Antarctic research base or an internet cafe deep in the Amazon rainforest.

  • That's what I mean, they suggested there should be something there.

Sure enough, I finally loaded up the game and discovered for myself that there are no offline bot matches, and what a shock that those we've reached out to aren't saying a word. They either don't care, or they've been told not to say anything.

The developer update literally stated in regards to offline bot matches, and I quote:

"This will let you try out everything you’ve learned in a real-world scenario without the stress of other people watching."

How am I supposed to try out everything I've learned in a "real world scenario" with just Trapper or Dwight, especially without perks?

For years gamers like myself have been begging for a way to practice in DBD. I and many others don't have a plethora of friends that play this game, so it's impossible to get a custom match going. And trying to practice while engaging in sweaty matches doesn't make for a great learning tool.

This was a big letdown in my book BHVR. You're known for your reluctance to be open with your community, so why am I not surprised that once again something that you said was going to happen, didn't happen. And the fact that nothing is being officially addressed in the forums after an all day discussion speaks volumes.

There's been no response to anyone mentioning it over the course of this month or since the patch even if you tag the associated people while they're around so I think it's going to go the way of console optimisation/disconnection husks/early game mechanic and probably soon enough boon totems whatever those would've been.

Just silence, no excuses, no explanations, just........

Yeah no one understands this either. The bot match with Trapper and Dwight was already there with the chapter 20 release. The developer update talked about something completely different for the mid chapter update. So did this get delayed, or were they just talking about what was already there to begin with?

Plus trapper is probably the most pointless killer to be able to practice. The bots aren't going to respond to traps like human players would and otherwise he's just an m1 killer. When people say they want to practice or get warmed up I'm pretty sure they mean more nurse, billy, huntress, blight etc

  • A killer's playrate always drops for a while even after mild nerfs, it'll probably pick back up.

  • I'm obviously happy to have less stridor spirit in my life but-

    1) This doesn't address spirit's core issues

    2) IW didn't really need a buff

    3) There may only be like three of us who like using stridor on other killers or using the stridor-lite addons nurse, huntress and freddy have but we are out there

  • @Peanits said:

With the chapter 20 release, bot matches were added after the tutorials so you can try out what you've learned in a more match-like setting.

With this mid-chapter, the tutorials themselves have been completely remade (e.g. the thing that teaches you what generators, hooks, etc. are).

Good to see you around @Peanits , this phrasing* from I think the anniversary event was a bit ambiguously worded but as the trapper bot match was already in we all took it as being able to have bot matches with other killers. Is this still something that's happening?

    * "Now, a tutorial is great and all, but it doesn’t quite compare to hands on experience. Before you jump into an online match, you can now practice in offline bot matches. This will let you try out everything you’ve learned in a real-world scenario without the stress of other people watching. Bot matches are already available on the live version of the game (click the Getting Started button on the main menu to check them out). "

  • I've played against him a few times now, not as him yet.

Doesn't feel particularly fun to go against. Either he catches you in an area where the loops have no high walls and you just die, or somewhere where they do and he takes ages to down you like before. The melody (again why does he have one and slinger doesn't?) sounds close enough to the terror radius to be confusing and annoying. He's probably one of the better campers in the game now. Animation lock equals death, so little point in using windows or pallets unless using them extremely early, just find a tall, fairly wide object and run around and around and around until he eventually catches up. Can't really do much that existing ranged killers aren't already capable of. Quick decay rate dissuades spreading the pain and makes him even more 1v1 focused.

So, not OP at all just...ugh

  • @Facture said:

I don't know, when I read the developer update it didn't sound like they were doing any additions to what was already in the game.

Here is the quote "Now, a tutorial is great and all, but it doesn’t quite compare to hands on experience. Before you jump into an online match, you can now practice in offline bot matches. This will let you try out everything you’ve learned in a real-world scenario without the stress of other people watching. Bot matches are already available on the live version of the game (click the Getting Started button on the main menu to check them out). "

They may have mentioned updates to the bot matches in the anniversary event, but I'm old so my memory isn't all that great.

That makes no sense if they weren't expanding them. Why would they announce something already in-game? And when people want to practice a killer against bots they don't mean just trapper.

  • I hope it isn't just one of those things they mention during anniversary events and then just never actually happen.

  • @MandyTalk any news on this?

  • iron will maybe an activatable ability with a timer

also buff off the record, make it permanent until the survivor returns to objectives (same conditions as DS)

  • I didn't see any mention of it in the patch notes...

  • I didn't play the PTB but ptb trickster looked pretty miserable to go against. Probably still will be.

"They tried to make him more fun to verse for everyone by doing absolutely nothing to his 1v1"

Going 8 to 6 blades is a big 1v1 improvement. It's also lazy. Balance in 2021 seems to be killers that can guarantee a down without the survivor having much input, and to compensate the killer is crap at anything outside chase. I do find that boring, yeah.

  • That's kind of adorable though

  • I feel very bad for switch players. It was a ridiculous idea releasing it on there in the first place - if they can't get it to work properly on a PS4 how exactly did they think the switch was going to fare?

  • I've been burned before by easing up when players aren't the smartest or best in chase - doesn't make them any less capable of doing gens though. If I'm trying to win I will go easier but only once it's pretty clear the opposing team aren't going to be making a comeback.

  • That happens a lot during BP events if you refuse to farm, so I'll probably stick to killer or swf
