It has it's uses in niche builds, although the obsession dying removing all stacks is a ridiculous downside for a perk with a not amazingly-strong effect
-
I loved old Freddy in a lot of ways although there were lots of things about playing him which were crap, I don't want to get blinded by nostalgia. When I mained him, selfcare and adrenaline were two of the biggest meta perks (most matches - 4x selfcare and 3x adrenaline) and both screwed him -hard- and who can forget gens and totems and unhooks all being done in your face, ugh
Then new Freddy, I enjoyed playing him with pallets and some weird builds. Not much more to say, he was too much reward for too little effort and stronger than an m1 killer has a right to be - less so with pallets, but I'm talking from both sides. I didn't see many Freddie's with pallets as a survivor. I saw a lot with swing chains and sloppy butcher and thana and pop and tinkerer and every possible slowdown, even dying light sometimes, lol. The feeling of falling asleep was thematic at least
Now this newest Freddy...eh I don't play him anymore and I'm happy not to see him as survivor anymore. I'd like to say that I want to see a return to old freddy but I doubt I'd play him again after a few nostalgia games. And honestly I don't think I've found any version of Freddy interesting to go against as survivor.

Yeah when killers stop tunneling and camping
You've noticed survivor queues have been quicker during the event right? I.e. people who usually play survivor are playing killer. In fact most people play both to some extent, this divide is mostly in your head.

Trapper is awesome on this map, and hag would probably do the same. The small paths help Nemesis' zombies a ton. The small rooms and multiple floors make it easy for demi, freddy, spirit, and nurse to teleport grab you off a gen. Doc can shock you while being nowhere near you on a different floor. Legion and wraith can easily trap survivors in a corner with their speed. There is only one pallet I've seen that doesn't take one second to walk around. It blocks a hall, while the rest of them are in between something as small as a chair and a wall. Walk around the chair, you don't even have to break the pallet.
The poor design makes it the absolute easiest map to trifecta. Hell, two gens can be in the main hall!
Basically, this is the best map for killers that they EVER made!
The only killers that this map isn't excellent for are the ranged ones, which is pretty much the case with all indoor maps for them. See trifecta above for how to dominate with them. I suppose super speed killers like billy and blight would also have trouble on this map, no more than game or midwich, though.
Honestly, if anyone should have a complaint about this map it's the survivors. Every game I've played on this map the killers camp the center, meaning the survivors cannot possibly finish the trophy generator and will definitely end up having a trifecta.
I've done well on the map as killer but it doesn't exactly feel like I'm outplaying the survivors if I'm winning because they can't find gens or figure out how to get to hooked teammates. It's a recipe for frustration on both sides really.
-
Yeah sometimes and it's good for knowing where teammates are being chased or going for saves but you'll also see them waste shack pallet and self-care in the corner + other painful things to watch
-
One killer that seems to shine on there is demo. Long, thin corridors and the portals mean you don't have to bother navigating the maze as much.
-
I'm gonna try it as pig with rules set no2 and jigsaw's sketch I think. Or maybe tampered timer and crate of gears. Lots of fun to be had either way.
-
MMR isn't on.

That one is very annoying. I prefer the blatant hackers, at least I can just go stand in a corner watching YouTube.
The speeders are also often a waste of time to report because the video can be deemed inconclusive.
I had a Jake who had that, but I ended up reporting him for extra perks and infinite exhaustion instead, when he dead harded twice in 20 sec and he had 4 perks none of which was DH. And he even dead harded for memes because I wasn't even close. Sadge.
It's ridiculous that for speedhacks the process is to record it and then have someone watch it and try to determine by sight. If a player is moving at a speed that doesn't make sense in regard to perks/add-ons/bloodlust etc it should be automatically flagged.
-
Who here hasn't made another player quit?
Not sure that "made" is the right word as it's not exactly on purpose

AFK farmers sometimes set up an auto clicker so they can farm hit points from survivors. Strange to put it on a Wraith, though.

It's either a macro or a farming bot.
Sounds...strange. Worked out for us in terms of points, but he got about 6k points with 4 cakes on. He would've got a lot more by actually playing
@ThiccBudhha said:
Was it console? He was probably AFK while doing something else. Heck, I guess it could have been PC if he was on his phone. But I assume PC players would just use a different tab. I sometimes do that when I need to make sure the afk timer doesn't kick me in other games. Like, if I need to leave the room for a minute or two.
I think so. He had the crossplay icon for all of us so it wasn't steam or PS4.
-
I thought I was clever for discovering a perk "synergy"
It was sprint burst with urban evasion, and basically you save your sprint burst by -never- taking your finger off the crouch button unless you're in chase. Pretty cool right?
-
My main issue with 9/10 blights running tinkerer/ruin/undying/BBQ isn't that it's dull (although it is) it's that I love playing as and against blight and they're going to end up getting him nerfed. Ruin, undying and tinkerer have all had changes already and that combo isn't that common on other others so they won't go for the perks, they'll go for him.
Same as when IF was changed to include all downs and even though they knew he was up for review loads of Billys started all bringing it and trying to get every survivor slugged at 5 gens. Idiots shooting themselves in the foot.
-
Spirit needs a nerf. Nurse, who is admittedly stronger, doesn't. As for what you mean by "nerfing survivors", I'd need specific examples of what you had in mind before knowing if I'd agree or not.

I'd say normally camping and tunneling is like, 98% of the game. It's 99% with the event. And I'm seeing moris more than ever too, which makes me laugh. Survivors all bring in cakes which are harder to find and killers bring in moris. It's just a big FU to survivors. I noticed this a while back during the Blood Hunt events and before the ebony mori fix. Killers would bring them in even more during those events. Meh. I'm not bringing in cakes anymore and I know a lot of other survivors are done with it as well.
You still have a problem with moris? Who cares about those anymore

I didn't know that.. do you mean his laugh or he sings?
No it's a melody like huntress, fixed at I think 40 metres and can't be altered. It's more subtle and only on the survivor side, but you know when he's around.
Meanwhile slinger, our one and only stealth ranged killer, doesn't seem to need one. Trickster is just that much more oppressive ig

Lose a game... (eye roll). I never understand this claim.
Yeah it can. I've used autodidact in situations where the others are slugged and it can turn the tide back to the survivors or be worse than running no perks, depends if you got your stacks or not
-
I give hatch or gate a lot, and are there are some survivors that will always refuse it. It's very rare but they do exist.

I love how the Trickster laughs and talks to himself. It makes him feel more like the human he is.
Everyone else is supernatural in some way, but the Trickster is just a dude with a bat and throwing knives. He's not mute like 99% of the Killer roster (I think the Huntress is the only other Killer who makes any 'human' noises that are not breathing).
I love listening to him chuckle and talk to himself.
Plague speaks. One of the devs referred to trickster as the first killer that speaks but vom queen did it long before
-
I think they should chop it in half, or something. I wouldn't want any of it to go to waste but it's too big and labyrinthine to have much fun on. Kinda like meat plant, which is interesting aesthetically but having to figure out ways to get upstairs or downstairs when you need to get there ASAP is extremely frustrating, and on RCPD the effect is more extreme. I mean cases like where a survivor has a gen at 85% if you're the killer, or if you're the survivor you have a hooked teammate about to go into struggle or die, this happening very near you but on a different floor with no obvious route to get there.
-
Yeah win or lose, I like games that are close calls where it feels like it could go either way for most of the match and I got a lot more of those with killer with MMR on instead of just stomp or be stomped. It's just more interesting to me
Still playing a decent amount of survivor though because I've found a fun swf group, most killer I've done recently after adepting nemesis is kyf with them.

Itll let her sneak up on you easier, unless you hide when in lullaby range
Maybe in theory, but she's not going to catch you completely off guard anyway and 15 seconds isn't that long. I've gone against a huntress with it on lerys (bad map for her, a better map for the add-on) and it didn't achieve anything, it was just slightly confusing
-
I mean one of the quotes on the anniversary loading screen is Almo talking about the potential synergy with huntress' purple add-on that gives 15 seconds of undetectable after reloading.
You know huntress, that killer where you always have a pretty good idea when she's in the area anyway...
So no I'm not surprised the balance team decided making survivors oblivious while charging a Victor pounce is an interesting and useful add-on.
-
Doublepost
-
Still have 30 year 3 gateaux on hag on my PS4 account and if we ever get Xprogression I'll be playing 30 games of hag. The enjoyment of myself or others is irrelevant.
-
The four I play most are all in different rows
-
I've mostly been playing survivor and yesterday wasn't great, as in multiple vpn spirits and killers doing their best to get everyone slugged at 5 gens. Today was good, killers going easier after a dc, two of them apologised for tunnelling me (although they hadn't? but sure no worries). There was one pig who put on midwich with crate of gears and tampered timer but that was pretty funny in all honesty. That'll be a tricky one on the new map...
-
How come you only have nea at level 1? Did you prestige her or something?

Pretty much every dev favours pc but you really feel the contempt with bhvr.
When I was on console and filling in any of those feedback surveys I put PS4 -and- PC just so it wouldn't auto-shred
-
In a complete coincidence my blight isn't feeling well today so demo and plague will be filling in for him
-
Remove double bp from BBQ and automatically double all bloodpoints post game every game for both sides = more perk variety

Not excited, but i am curious if they'll live up to their own statement of "wanting to make these 2 events (DbD birthday & Halloween) big".
So i'm expecting more than last time, and thus i'll definitely have a certain amount of disappointment if it's the same or less than last time.
On the other hand, i'll be happy if it turns out to be pretty good.
But again: No, i'm not excited.
And not because of them, but because i purposefully don't build up excitement over anything that isn't out yet, whether that's events, DLC, cosmetics, etc.
When something's out and i can see what it actually is, then i'll decide if i'm excited or not.
Yeah I'm also waiting to see what comes from that statement and if it has any meaning or just something said to dampen the backlash from last halloween.
There'd have to be something pretty interesting in this event that isn't any of the things currently known about.

No, because Clown came out without that bug. Nemesis has had that "bug" since he came out, and fixing it's basically nerfing it. I'm not against fixing it, what I don't understand is why they haven't yet made it, not even in this version, changes or buffs.
Actual buffs take longer, generally. For one thing Almo first needs to venture deep into the Canadian wilderness to commune with the holy Statistics.
I'll be annoyed too if twins/trickster,/nemesis don't get any more attention but have to give it some time.
-
It was a fix to a bug where he could hit through some closed windows and walls, how is that a nerf? Is fixing clown's pink bottles so they actually function a buff?
-
You both did the right thing.
-
Too many post
-
Also if you want more ideas I'd suggest totem defender snipe doc. Haunted grounds, thrill of the hunt, undying, no 4th perk, and the beam + green range addons. Only protect totems, ignore gens and survivors that haven't interfered with a totem.
-
Demoyeet? Is that just lots of shredding off high places?
-
The playerstats site says you've escaped 10,176 times. Which would probably be a lot higher if you stopped dc'ing after being downed once.
-
Trickster is the only killer I feel incapable of doing much at a structure like killer shack if the survivor knows what they're doing. I'd rather have no power at all and be 115.
-
"You can counter survivor meta EXTREMELY EASY. For example:
Borrowed Time; Go for the unhooker
Decisive Strike; Dont tunnel
Unbreakable; Dont Slug"
So a survivor brings these perks and get little use out of them because they don't get camped, tunnelled or slugged. And this is disappointing for them? I don't think that many survivors think that way.
I've known multiple survivor mains who quit the game or permanently switched to killer, and it wasn't for any of the reasons you mentioned. It was the constant bugs, the state of the game on ps4 and xbox, and the extremely stale survivor gameplay (the endless gen repair, basically)
I agree with you about a lot of the more recent killers being unfun to go against, mostly slinger, twins and trickster (for different reasons)
-
"Sry to break everyones hope but Prestige was NEVER MEANT TO GIVE YOU A ADVANTAGE!"
*laughs in Claudette*
-
Thanks to all of you for suggestions and @zarr next match this happens I'll record it afterwards. I don't just want to start with "survivors do this - it's uncounterable" if there's things I could be doing better
-
@White_Owl said:
Then just do the same. Ignore pallets and take the most direct path, you're faster and you will catch up to them. Plus the maps are closed, they can't run always straight and sooner or later they will need to curve, and that's when you'll cut them off.
The worst one I've had so far was on lerys, which I wouldn't have thought would be one of the worse maps for it but it felt like it
-
@Equus said:
Since sprint burst is an exhaustion perk I make them use it and go for someone else. They sprint miles from their gen and the next time I find them sprint burst is on cooldown so I get to see if they know other tactics. If they don't I get myself a hookstate. This kind of survivor also has a tendency to hop back on the same gen so if you fake drop the chase to return quick they are out of options soon.
I also don't kick unsafe pallets and try to force them to play it later so I can get a hit. Pallets are limited unless they are on a pallet heavy map like the game the good pallets won't last long.
You're right about getting back on the gen afterwards, I can tell because I run dragon's grip a lot. It does usually cause them to stop healing which can be a good or bad thing depending on the situation...
