I'm really disliking boons, as a killer. As a survivor, I refuse to unlock and use them as they feel too strong, and I'd be a hypocrite.

I've been a consistent killer main, but with boons I've lost most of my enjoyment as killer. I can't play anyone that uses hit an run tactics, as everyone just rushes to the boon and super quick heals. I can't really afford to even let a survivor get away, to pressure another area or surv, because again the injured one will simply heal themselves very quickly. Certain tiles are an absolute nightmare without scratch marks, and it's near impossible to tell if the survivor is even there still after they break los, and have shadowstep. This makes for a very unfun experience.

Am I just complaining and over reacting or does anyone feel the same?

Also, inb4 "just do bones XDD". The problem with that statement is that if I "do bones" as a killer, it doesn't do much as the boon is simply put back up. Id feel differently if I could actually break the totem just as survivors do to hexes, but I can't. So that's really not a valid argument. I don't know if being able to break the totems as killer would solve the issue, but I feel like something needs to change.

All in all, I love the idea of boons. It's fantastic. Truly. However, this iteration is not a good one. Maybe it's just me though.

    What do y'all think?

Dodging every single witch. That's how I feel

Now that dead hard got the hit validation and many players are feeling robbed out of their hits, what do you think about Dead Hard giving endurance during the dash instead of invencibility? Killers could still hit you, you'd get the speed boost but would need to mend after. Considering Dead Hard is easily on the top 5 best perks for survivors, I think this would be a fair trade.

    What do you think?

Buff a perk that rewards survivors for playing bad? N O

Expecting to behave in any way you wish and not getting called out for it is petty af and infantile. Just take responsibility for your actions.

I am pretty sure anyone is able to comprehend that your statements don't make much sense and that you keep contradicting yourself. I you didn't care you wouldn't have to disable messages at all cause it wouldn't bother u. You don' want to admit it, fine. But don't expect others to not pay attention to that. Btw it is normal to care about other peoples judgement. It is a good thing actually as only people that have mental impairment do not care for real. Anyone without that impairment will care, avoid it (through behaving according to social rules or through explaining their wrong behaviour to themselves) or deny their responsibility.

I don't care about messages, that's why they're disabled. If you gotta harass the killer, you need help lmao.

I don't need "responsibility", it's a game. Go outside and stop pretending to have the moral high ground" over a videogame

  • @tennmio said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2590987#Comment_2590987

This was about how certain people KNOW that the'll get messages, because they know exactly HOW they're playing. XD I mean I thought this was obvious. If the survivors do a missplay in the beginning you can take advantage of it or take it easy. You can assume they might have gotten into your lobby accidently because of mmr working wrong. You can know 3 people brought bp offerings and let them take a breath and take it easy a 5 gens remaining. Or you, like that one did, be selfish af and just hook 1 and slug the other 2 and camp all of them.

If you or anyone behaves like that, yes you'll have some people, including me, assume that you are not an empathic (emotionally and cognitive), respectful and good person. Moreover I assume that most people that behave like that have messaging disabled, because they know that they get messages and comments. I guess they know that they are behaving selfish and that they expect messages like that.

Tbh every single time someone here complaints about getting so many ""unfair", insulting and rude messages" and even messages that aren't approopriate, I am pretty sure that the messages they get are most probably fair unless they aren't appropriate (like life threats and comparable).

Haha I just saw what you posted b4. So yeah I guess this applies for you as well... . Like I said I am not afraid of getting a message, but some people are. They are because they know that their behaviour is looked down at and that they are getting judged so they decide to ignore it or better make sure they don't even get them. It is easier to tell yourself that you are not doing anything wrong and that they way that you behave is okay if you don't even have to face any consequences to your actions. But somehow they do konw what they are doing is wrong, cause if they didn't they wouldn't have a problem with getting an unjustified message in the first place.

Sending harassment because someone played in a way you don't approve on in a game is petty af. Just move on lol

Cause listening to someone complain will totally impede you being able to "play however" you "dam well please".

XD Haha sure makes a lot of sense your line of reasoning.

I don't care if they complain tho, it's not my problem lol

That would be a super bad thing. If the maps would be cut in half you would pretty much always be in the terror radius of the killer if he has a bigger radius. Especially if he brings perks that widen it you would always hear him. Also the gens would be way to close by then and you would run into issue like five-genning yourself, because the killer could literally just hear what generator your touching rn.

You know I'm not being literal, right?

Like sure, the first game its something new but going down to frenzy hits which have no counter is just boring.

I'm not one to normally call no counter play on killers, hell I didnt even want spirit nerfed or deathslinger as I know there are things I can do to counter it. However legion frenzy you cant, I dont mind taking the injure but the fact if they double stack addons they can start downing you in a few frenzy hits is stupid.

You cant use pallets/windows as they vault them, you cant heal because you go straight to mending, you cant mend because you're in a chase. You cant even bait pallets as they just catch up on the next loop.

I hope these arent staying, legions needs help but this play is just cheap and meh.

So now Legion is op because he's viable with addons?

This is where they messed up. If this happens, which I completely agree with if they aren't removed altogether but if you remove it once its blessed it keeps other survivors from blessing it if they bring in the perk, and then there will be complaints of that.

Well there should only be one Boon per type per team (1 shadowstep, 1 CoH) anyways

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2593719#Comment_2593719

Or the hex comes back if it was displaced by a boon, when that boon is snuffed?

Both. If the killer snuffs out a Boon on a Dull totem, the Boon perk is permanently disabled. If the Boon is cleared on a totem that had a Hex, the Hex comes back

  • @Miralis said:

I honestly dont understand what the fuss is about COH being OP. I played 3 games as killer and still 4k each game with multiple survivors having COH. Just FYI, I dont play killer, and I still 4k with this supposed god tier perk. Even as a survivor the perk isnt OP because killers still very easily can get 3k - 4k. I swear any new thing that releases is immediatly called OP if somebody doesnt like it. Boon: COH is fine the way it is.

Boons should be permanently removed once snuffed once, like Hexes

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2591835#Comment_2591835

No, face-camping and proxy-tunneling are a symptom of bad game design that allows 1 player to completely stop another player from playing the game. You can slow gen speeds to take an hour and killers would still face-camp and proxy-tunnel. This is entirely on the killers side of things and any nerf you do to survivors wouldn't change it. It's been going on since the game began and will continue to go on until the developers make changes.

Killers wouldn't feel the need to do those if gens were easy to patrol

  • @[Deleted User] said:

It's not a cut and dry solution to just reduce map size. What happens balance-wise when killers like Nurse and Blight are playing on smaller maps? Hag and Twins for that matter? It would be great for killers like Trickster, Plague, etc., and I do think maps are way too big. But it's not a simple fix

I think the top killers are only top because they have insane map pressure due to traversing the map insanely fast. If there's no need to traverse the map fast, their mobility can be nerfed without making them trash tier

  • @Munqaxus said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/290164/so-why-are-maps-still-huge

The reason there are large maps because there are high mobility killers such as Nurse, Blight, Spirit, Billy, Oni and Wraith, who can move from one side of the map to the other in a matter of seconds. On small maps, those killers absolutely decimate survivors.

So if all maps were small, those Killers would basically be guaranteed 3ks and 4ks every game. You have to have large maps for those killers and small maps for all the other killers so the kill average equals out.

The obvious solution to that is nerf map size to help killers with no mobility and nerf high mobility by powershifting their mobility onto another aspect of their kit

  • @EvilJoshy said:

No, bhvr expects you to buy everything again.

I really hope that's not the case ngl

We have no information on when cross progression will be released between Steam & Switch, we're still ironing out issues with it. We have no confirmation if/when cross progression will happen on any other platforms.

Oh no, I meant Steam and PS4 specifically. Unless that's out already lol

  • Tunneling and camping are a symptom of gen speeds, which are only a problem because maps are too big

  • @Ghoste said:

Map size is a tough issue because not all Killers are equal. Nurse or Blight for example don't mind large maps because they move so quickly. Shrink maps and the best Killers become even stronger. We need to buff weaker Killers without over-tuning the best ones.

I honestly think, if map size is reduced, then we can nerf the top killers without hurting them since we'd only be bringing them down to the level of the other killers, who would then be viable due to having pressure. Map size is a huge problem for most killers, like Clown, Trickster, Pig, Ghostface.

  • @tennmio said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2587164#Comment_2587164

I just had a game with 3 people bringing bloodpoint offerings and no one except for the killer got more then 9.000 bps. A Huntress on coldwind. The player disabled everything messages, friendrequest etc.

As if this person is not aware of how terrrible they behave?! I have nothing disabled cause I am behaving like a decent person and if I fail to do so I take responsibility for my actions. But those kinds of people are just children-like, entilted and refuse to take responsibility for their actions.

So the huntress is terrible for doing her job as killer? Bro go outside

  • @Nathan13 said:

The only maps that need to shrink a little are RPD and backwater swamp.

Most maps are huge, like the Game and Red Forest lol

  • @survivormaingoesree said:

Devs are obviously oblivious to the balance that this game offers to the high levels of play. It’s really upsetting. Ntm nerfing killers that actually had control over the chases rather than survivors is equally infuriating. How are you supposed to catch a team of 6k hour survivors that make no mistake. (Unless you’re nurse) How t f is this supposed to be fair for weak killers like clown or ghost face?Ntm it doesn’t help that half the boon totems on almost every map can’t even be cleaned. This game is an absolute joke.

All this game needs rn, is cutting all map size by half. Make them smaller, then balance from there. Smaller maps allow killers to patrol better, thus eliminating the need for slowdown perks

    You: this.

Which killers whos been nerfed deserved better ? And which one deserved the nerfs for you ?

I think Pyramid Head was better when he could see the cages and was more fluid to play. He was strong, where he should be.

The Twins deserved the nerf. I play them and they are still killing machines.

Freddy deserved better. Yes he was very strong, but now he dont have enough dream snares and nobody play him anymore.

Spirit. It was the perfect change for her, she is now fair and still top tier killer.

Deathslinger, he deserved better. I dont play him but I dont understand why he has been change. He was totally fine.

I wont speak about all killers. It will be too long. But I want to know your opinions.

And I want the devs to reverse some nerfs, let us hear our opinions. About wrong and right changes :)

Trickster needs actual buffs. 115 movement speed like a regular killer

  • @tennmio said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2586786#Comment_2586786

Right, but your decisions and actions are indeed your responsibility. If you don't like being judged as selfish you'll have to adapt your decisions and actions. If you don't want to change anything. Fine. But you don't get to be offended if your actions cause critique. You'll have to live with that, just like everyone else has to put up with your behaviour.

The people you treat however in the game, are people during the game and they will still be people after the game. If they decide to tell you their judgment about your behaviour, you'll have to endure it.

Or I could just mute in game chat and ignore them, because I play however I dam well please

I don't know about the new series though.

It is canon, Seed is the movie where he even has a child so

  • Chucky doesn't have a son, his child is genderfluid and goes by she/her and they/them

  • @dallasmedicbag said:

he's basically a ranged killer just like trickster, huntress and deathslinger, yet his movement speed is 115%. in tier 3, he moves at the exact same speed as survivors so he can literally just hold it down while chasing and the range of that tentacle is crazy, not to mention the fact that you could just drag it if you miss it.

he's an extremely easy killer to play (well, maybe trickster is easier) if you understand his hitbox.

Not all ranged killers should move slow. Especially since Trickster should be 115

  • @tennmio said:

If 1 person dc's right at the beginning and 2 people brought bloodpointofferings for everyone, maybe consider not tunneling, camping and slugging people. With 0 gens done, ruin up, on a map (midvich) that you decided to go to. With you having good perks and add ons, when those survivors don't even bring 1 meta perk.

For those about to complain: No I don't expect someone to farm, I don't want to farm. BUT one can play differently in a 3 vs 1. Be respectful, don't tunnel/camp. Give survivors at least a chance to get some points. Just behave like a feeling, empathic human being, it's all I ask (if that isn't true for you, just play as if you posessed those qualities, like an actor).

Tbh I wish the devs would punish tunneling and camping in 3 vs 1's when bp offerings were brought. Like there is NO acceptable reason to play that disgustingly selfish if you are already having an advantage.

Your fun is not my responsibility

  • @pyramidheadmain6233 said:

A killer can pop NOED and turn a game around fast, hence why people aren't the biggest fan of it. However, if you were to make a perk like that, but for survivors, what would you make? How would survivors turn a game around in an instant?

Perk that doesn't punish the Survivors' mistake and gives them a second chance? It's called Dead Hard

This isn’t necessarily based off killer strength but it’s mainly based off how healthy and balanced their powers are. Remember, this is my opinion but feel free to share your thoughts about this.

If you want to keep buying stuff then just do it, no one is keeping your wallet closed but yourself.

The point he is trying to make is if you want bhvr to listen to the community, then the community has to shut down their income.

Every company is affected by income and so is bhvr.

Meaning no one is buying cosmetics or dlc is no income for bhvr, and thus they have to start and take a look at why that is happening.

But again if you want to keep buying stuff than by all means just do that, nobody is forcing you not to 😉

I guess as others have said though...don't kill your time hunting them down. If you see it, destroy it. If you are in chase, remember where it is when you have a moment. Yeah, on small, clustered maps like haddonfield...which boons kinda make even MORE survivor sided XD...they will suck, but on huge maps like red forest, the survivors have to be camping near their totems to get much use out of them, or run to one every time they get injured for circle of healing. Survivors waste loads of time overwriting hexes or reapplying boons so it's still kind of a double edged sword.

If you still think Spirit needs nerfs, after being balanced and just fine, boy..
