But it is. The game doesn't end as soon as you're placed on a hook. In fact once you reach the 2nd stage you get to PLAY the mini game which consists of you repeatedly tapping a button. 🙃
That's not a minigame and being on hook isn't gameplay. By that logic, cutscenes are gameplay too

Haha no worries I don't expect much on this forum (worst dbd community?)
This wouldn't be the first time over the years when something wasn't working as intended and people didn't care then it showed up fixed in the patch notes a month or two later.
This is why I'm against the penalty. It's buggy, messy and not fit for this game. I feel like they shouldn't have rushed it and fixed the bugs and stuff. Plus it's way too harsh for a party game.
Example: Overwatch only has a penalty when you leave 7 matches, and it starts soft but then it soft-band you from joining for a few minutes, then gives you an exp penalty. All that increases with the number of bans and only decreases with games played on their entirety.
That seems like a much better system

Man literally no one even listened to your concern, feels bad man

Sorry but you can't win every game. You're gonna get put on the hook sometimes. It's part of Survivor gameplay. Face camping is a strategy just like all the other troll things Survivors do are strategies.
I don't wanna win, I wanna play. No one here is saying "I shouldn't get hooked", we just said "hey, staring at a killer isn't gameplay"

Are you not getting to play cause you're on the hook? That's part of the gameplay. I'm pretty sure you were also playing as you were being chased before you got put on the hook. You just didn't get to play the way YOU wanted to play.
You build a bridge and move on to the next game.
Having a staring contest with the killer isn't gameplay. If I wanted to stare at someone and do nothing else I'd go to YouTube or Netflix, not a videogame

Exactly, I don't give a sh!t that i give my team 60 seconds to do gens while im hooked, im want to play this game too god dammit.
Everyone saying otherwise is a tryhard hit hard in the head.
That's why you just suicide on hook if you're camped. The others aren't entitled to those 60 seconds I spend staring at Clown's loving eyes
Edit: bad word?

So? Everyone should get to play

Yes it does. Killers don't have much to counteract all that Survivors are able to do. It's fun to see Survivors reaction when they don't get to lose how they want to lose.
Imagine justifying the fact that someone didn't get to play just cause the game is imbalanced
-
If it does, I'm leaving. I'm not gonna play PS4, that has less framerate and plays worse than PC, against PC. I don't want an unfair advantage. They better make it optional or alot of console players will leave

I actually disagree with the generalisations that killer x is killer y with/without a, b and c. Take deathslinger for example - his only similarity with huntress (power wise) is that it's a projectile attack. Aside from the basic mechanic of how projectiles work in general their powers have very different funtios, advantages, disadvantages and strategies to utilise them. Deathslinger will (should) be played quite differently from the huntress (if you want to get the most out of his power)
High mid tier with the appropriate perks. Mid tier base. He's still good. I've seen people compare him to Clown or Legion, which is far from the case
-
@Pulsar said:
He will always be lower than Huntress unless he gets a significant buff.
I mean, Huntress is high tier, so I agree
-
@Quol said:
The reason people arent saying he is good is that he has one of the worst map pressures of the entire roster. Not only does he run at 110 speed but he has no ability that helps him expand his presence like the other 110 killers have.
Well he has insane chase potential. That alone is good enough map pressure to be high mid tier. Downing survivors fast gives you map pressure cause they have to get off gens
-
@Exxodus21 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1106322#Comment_1106322
I think he has less pressure because his ranged attack doesn't give him a down and has a limited range.
Small terror radious. Use monitor and it's 16m. Free first hit chained into a down with his power. How is that not atleast high mid tier?
-
@Accullla said:
He will be top tier in some people's hands and bottom tier in other people's hands. Just like every other killer
Exactly, he looks good and fun, I dontrelle see why people are calling him worse than Oni. He's a Huntress with more pressure cause of DW.

I'm gonna make a smurf just to main Legion and meme with that. Gonna call it "oh yeah".
I love this game

You're comparing tomatoes to chicken. What I'm talking about is game feel, I am not talking about power. Or overall viability. The legion feels nicebecause he can vault windows and pallets and moves fast and can get that satisfying hidden even if it's not as good as the plague with her ability. what I'm saying is the optimal way to play against the plague is to not interact with the mechanic. Accept your fate and be injured the whole game. and people are not interacting with this mechanic so much that the devs are making it so that they have to at least get one corrupted Purge in.
"You can completely negate the Plague's Corrupt Purge"

Camping is explicitly listed as not reportable. Meanwhile, the reporting section has "Purposefully losing the game" and "Ragequitting" listed under "Unsportsmanlike Conduct." Not a very good comparison.
Those reports are thrown out because it's not reportable, seriously. It's like reporting for opening an exit gate as killer

You ever tunnel a key user but you feel bad because they had a green key the entire time?
Too many times to count, but man are those red keys more common than green
-
@Arbmos1998 said:
I think it is fair to say that the Key is a beyond stupid mechanic that should not exist in this game period. It is an item that heavily rewards Survivor even if they play badly and heavily punishes Killer but doesn't in anyway punish the Survivor.
personally i really dislike EGC as it's boring for both sides at the end of the match because as Killer you pretty such need to slug and even then it's not guaranteed to get the 4 man due to the sound bugs (Survivors literally making 0 sound on the floor). Even when it's one person left, you close the hatch they still have another 2 chances to escape meaning Killer moves back and forward between gates which once again is very boring heck they may even have a Key thus giving them a 3rd chance even though you found hatch first so the counter play is none existent.
I see a lot people comparing Keys to Mori's and this a stupid comparison for a number of reasons as they are completely different.
Key:
- Key an Item which has bonus features with add ons (Killer Aura for example)
- Key can be used every game with a certain add on that allows you to keep it even if you die
- Key can be found in chest
Mori:
- It is an offering which can only be used once (depending on how many you have)
- Requires 5 Devour Hope stacks. That's even if it gets that far
- Rancor, terrible perk anyway as it requires all gens done to even be used and even then it's not guaranteed
- Tombstone Myers, negative being slow speed and by time you even reach tier 3 against an optimal team the game will be over anyway
- Punishes Killer points massively
- Can't be found by RNG in match
Lets just picture something for 2 seconds. Imagine if Killers found a Green 1 use Mori in a locker and it was all based on RNG. The Mori also would not need a requirement of the Survivor being hooked first you can just use it when you first down them. Think about how frustrated Survivors would be if this was a mechanic. People who use Keys most their matches just think about that for a bit and think to yourself if that would be fun for you.
Tunnel the key user, I do that alot

If it constitutes as losing on purpose, which it does, and it constitutes as ragequitting, which it almost always does, it can be reported and there are ramifications if it is done excessively.
The fact that no one has gotten banned for hook suicide says it all. Camping is basically losing the game as killer but it's not reportable. Neither is hook suicide and it'll never be
-
@TAG said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1098047#Comment_1098047
That's not how that works. You can't just say "Oh, you can't report me for purposefully losing because whether I win or lose is up to my own personal preference." And no one is entitled to your time. If you want to DC, DC. If you want to suicide, suicide. Being punished for it doesn't mean that you are literally incapable of doing it. Just know that there are ramifications for doing so repeatedly.
No there aren't, no one has gotten banned for suiciding, there's no punishment. Why? Because you aren't entitled to anyone's time if they're being camped, that's why the option to even hook suicide exists
-
@TAG said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1097074#Comment_1097074
That's not how it works. You don't argue against getting reported for losing on purpose by saying "Well, I don't consider it a loss, so it doesn't count!"
The point is, it isn't a loss, because there's no concrete way to win in the game. Plus no one is entitled to my time if I'm being camped on hook, or if they aren't doing gens. If I see that I'm taking my leave and moving on
-
@TAG said:

Deliberately dying on the hook after getting downed once is losing the game on purpose.
Not for everyone, for me getting bp is a win (like most people)
-
@TAG said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1096091#Comment_1096091
It literally says so in-game. A player who hook suicides is purposefully losing the game for themself.
"Ragequitting" is also listed under the same section. Hook suiciding almost always falls under one of the two.
No, hook suicide isn't losing the game because there's no way to lose. Some people think getting points is a win, some people say that pipping is. The fact that you get rewarded for hook suicide by points or even a pip means it's not a loss
-
@TAG said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1094864#Comment_1094864
Look for "Purposefully losing the game" under "Unsportsmanlike Conduct."
If the devs haven't said it is, they won't ban for it so. I'm not staying in matches to play a staring contest with the killer, I'm moving on. Plus a hook suicides doesn't lose anyone the game. I had a game with 2 dc and 3 gens left and we managed to espace
-

I agree but it is reportable. Report the people who do it on the endgame screen.
I know some people though who do that when they have a game breaking bug and want to avoid punishment for it.
Hook suicide isn't reportable, there's nowhere where it says it is. I'm not staying in a match against a camper or with immersed teammates, you can't force anyone to do that

So what you saying is that you always die if the killer gets you once?
No, not really. If say, my teammates have done no gens and it's been a good long chase, or if they're urban evading around. then I'll dip. If no one is coming to save me before 2nd stage, I'll try to Kobe, if I'm finishing 2nd stage and no one is around, I'll let go early. If I'm being camped , I'll dip too

I quite literally only play solo, and I can count on my fingers how many times people didn't come save me at any point. Specially with kindred.
Welp my experience is very different from yours tho, I rarely ever get saved even if I run the killer for 4 gens. Plus not to mention that when you do run the killer around they tend to camp. No thank you tbh

I don't follow your logic here...
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1092053#Comment_1092053
You have a full minute before you go into phase 2. That's plenty of time to finish the gen they already started and go save you.
Stop trying to kobe imediatly and wait a bit. Give your teammates time to finish their gens and come save you.
Only kobe if you have no other option.
Uh, solo play has another story lol. No one saves you ever, even with Kindred so you're better off either going a kobe or moving on to the next game where you can actually play, and this is without the killer camping

If they were lagging then they shouldn't play this game anyways. Dev's said today anyone with more than 150 MS isn't going to have a good time at the game (and they arn't allowed to say that player should stop playing live - but i'm sure we both understand where we are getting at). DBD is a technically intense game right down to the need of a good connection.
But random lag spikes happen sometimes in any game, it's very common

You're telling me that purposly attempting to get off hook 3 times quickly, and then not even attempting to struggle isn't obvious?
How do you know they're not trying to kobe cause no one is gonna save? In second stage, how do you know they didn't lag?
-
@NullEXE said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1092170#Comment_1092170
I never said to put a ban on people who suicide - that's dumb. Just don't allow them to rank up, or force them to depip if they are doing intentionally as a group. Sounds like a good trade off to me. However in way should you be rewarded for suiciding on hook intentionally during a match where you have 3 or less survivors depending on you.
Please actually read the post next time.
Uh, my comment still stands. How will you differentiate all those from intentional hook death? You have to differentiate to be able to punish accordingly
-
How do you plan on implementing this? Will you ban everyone who dies on first-hook, ignoring those solo players who weren't saved? Will you punish those who try to kobe cause they aren't going to be saved? Will you punish those who reach stage 2 and lag slightly, causing their death? Too many factors to justify it
-

Guess i'm still recovering from all the matche's survivors left just to ensure I black pip'd or de-pip'd. I have 0 remorse for the people complaining about there being a DC penalty. It was greatly needed.
What does that have to do with my comment? I'm sorry you experienced that, but if they do it alot they'll get banned, the first 3 are in place for crashes and bug purposes
-
Tbh, I find it funny when some killers complain about annoying perks but run moris or hard tunnel. Also when survs complain about moris, camping or tunneling but bring in flashlights, toolboxes and annoying perks. Both of ya'll play toxic af, stop them double standards lol
-
@NullEXE said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1092130#Comment_1092130
The option to be able to come back, could be looked at. Myself thinks that will only encourage bad gameplay. Imagine a person who is toxic enough to dc in the first place, knowing they can't get into a match until the match they dc from finishes. Well the easiest solution is to go back into that game and sabotage right? Especially if they don't get any kind of reward. Seems like a bad idea overall.
At least the remaining 3 have a slight chance to win, even though of how awful that chance is. The person who DC's should only receive punishment at that point imo. Maybe they should make the first DC 20 minutes instead of 5. 5 minutes seems just to giving to me.
20 minutes, are you mad? The first 3 are short to give space for the frequent crashes and bugs. The game would die if you got a 20 minute ban every time DBD messed up. (I like the game, but it needs alot of work :/)
-
Yes, perfect. You have my vote. You have shown me the perfect beauty of Queen Clown

Struggle phase alone lasts a full minute. And you shouldn't try to kobe either way.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1091957#Comment_1091957
I don't see why.
Camping is valid. Waste the killers time by staying
If no one is gonna save, why not kobe? I'll die faster instead of wasting time on hook or I'll be back in the game and no one gets off gens

Trapper needs something tho. Make them all spawn in the middle? Going around every corner for a trap really cucks him hard on gen pressure
