You can loop spirit, her phase has a cooldown.
True, but it's unreliable. You're better off using windows or scratchmark jukes or stealth if you don't have the perks to counter her

I disagree, she's fun too play as but she is the most unfun killer too fight as survivor. I shouldn't be forced too run perks too counter a killer i have a 1/17 chance of fighting. Her power has almost 0 counterplay when in the Terror Radius, she gets kills by literally standing still, and Prayer Beads needs too be deleted.
She needs a rework IMO, because right now she is just so unfun too fight. It feels like complete luck if I can juke/mindgame her half the time, and the other half I just die.
Unfun doesn't mean broken. There are many ways to counter Spirit, some involve changing your build. If you don't want to counter her then ok just don't get mad when she wins

I would love to see OP as a surv with his counters vs a skilled Spirit, so we get schooled and admire how a Spirit can be evaded and looped for 2 hours.
I have gone against Spirits with my perks and won, not always but enough. That's why Spine Chill is always on one of my perk slots. Nea main when I play surv, Huntress main(mostly) so don't accuse me of bias cause you have no argument :)
Plus anyone with half a brain cell knows you can't loop Spirit lmao

I have her icon cause I'm a weeb and like Japanese aesthetic, I'm a Hag/Huntress main

probably because any counter people have given me that isn't perks doesn't work. that includes you.
We gave you counters, whether you do or don't choose to follow them is on you. I just played Spooky Spirit with PB and they managed to do 4 gens without any perks to counter me so it's possible. This was at purple ranks btw
-
I think the Huntress would be terrifying. She knows how to hunt in the woods, so it's only a matter of time until she gets me

Iron Will or don't get hit. Use stealth. Those are your counters. If you don't want to use them then you deal with the outcome.
There's also Spine Chill and scratchmark jukes or windows. There's no excuse to not know how to counter her
-
That addon is ultra rare and bad so it's rarely run. 1 addon doesn't make her op
-
@EnviouSLAY said:
she doesn't really need a nerf; just the addons changed which isnt a nerf since its an addon that is optional :)
The only really problematic addon are the PB, the rest are fine tbh
-
All this salt about Spirit has made me want to use all 7 PB with the Amulet, plus Surveillance, BBQ, Ruin and ToTH :)

I get why people think it's OP, I just kinda hoped I could give some suggestions on how to counter it. Thanks for being so nice

Well first off ofcourse every tactic/strat in pvp isnt 100 reliable if that were the case pvp would be boring AF....
But here are some things that you can try while in chase.
manipulating- getting gud at manipulating in general for this game puts players on a whole other level of play and when going against a spirit you can do more... the drop of a pallet while shes phasing muffles your sound, so dropping pallets early and running away is always an option , most times she'll come out of phase and will be forced to chase at 110% for the duration of the cooldown, running to pallets and going through them but then next time dropping them early is a good way to stay unpredictable (which is essential when going against her)... running near pallets to make her thing you're going to it but really running to another loop is a good tactics, faking windows and going through them are both good tactics especially at ultra safe windows...
Most likely you're right, you'll comment back with the "spirit just needs headphones" remark which has been proven false vai players who have played her...
Look just ignore them, at this point they aren't gonna listen to counters and are pretty much spam on this post

back to perks huh? this conversation is over.

sairek explained it perfectly here
Good killers won't be nerfed because you don't like the counterplay options, so you do you boo

I was being sarcastic, can you read properly?
Spirit and Nurse are OP, and YOU killer mains are the ones making those counter excuses everywhere.
Killers cant die, can run ultra rare addons that make the game lame and on top of that you play Killers that break the game with teleports and ultra fast travels while seeing scratchmarks blood and pain grunts.
But its annoying because everything can be countered.
Nurse isn't OP, neither is Spirit. The forums are filled with options to counter both the killers and specific addons. Not the Killer's fault you choose to ignore it

By that logic, 5 blink Nurse is perfectly fine and it shouldn't be getting changed. It has a counter, after all. Just change your play style.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/731479#Comment_731479
No, I'm in a bad position because I don't have the telepathic powers to guess out of the 17 killers in the game, I'd be up against Spirit and don't routinely run Iron Will or Spine Chill.
Imagine if for example Hag traps couldn't be disabled with a flash light and even crouching always set them off UNLESS you ran Urban Evasion. Imagine how fun that would be. Imagine if the answer to counter Hag's power was just "Well, always run Urban Evasion, then!"
That's what it feels like against Spirit. "Just Run Iron Will!" "Just run Spine Chill!" It's ridiculous and unrealistic. What's even the point of having perks if I have to dedicate 2 of my 4 perks to just be able to caressingly soft counter a single killer on the off chance I run into them so I don't just shrug and die?
I agree that certain perks should help combat some killer powers somewhat. They shouldn't be THE answer to deal with them, though. If the only realistic answer to consciously counter play a specific killer is to run a perk, then the killer is broken and needs to be fixed to allow more counter play in some fashion.
You can counter Spirit by using stealth when you hear her phase, not falling for obvious pallet mind games, vaulting windows, walking instead of running. You seriously expect to walk away easy when injured and exposed out in the open? That's pretty entitled

@Aikanaro said:

You are talking with killer mains, they are terrible survivors and live by the Killer kills motto, any little thing that presents a menace for them like a nerf its just bad and they will tell you infinite ways to counter everything.
If there are a million ways to counter something and you just want it nerfed so you don't have to counter it that just means you're bad. It's just annoying at this point, seriously
-

how do I stealth from something that gives no indicator that it's approaching. just hide 24/7? yeah that'll win games
Spine Chill? It tells you when she's coming. Not everything is as easy as loop and run, you gotta run perks that aren't meta sometimes. Spine chill is great at countering pretty much any other killer so I don't understand why you refuse to use it and refuse to counter her. Plus PB doesn't make Spirit op anyways
-
@artist said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/731496#Comment_731496
ok tell me what I can do in a chase then and I'll just tell u why it wont work or isn't reliable
Prayer Beads Spirit never do chases, so just use stealth if you really don't want to change your perk builds. You can't really loop a Spirit anyways so you shouldn't try
-
@Chubster said:
when all you need to do is disable the collisions when she phases to properly nerf her right
She doesn't need any nerfs tho, it's mostly just PB that are slightly problematic

What if there's no windows nearby?
What if I'm already injured and am making grunting noises? Then I can't scratch mark juke because the noises I make lead right to me anyway.
Well you are kinda in a bad position any killer, not just Spirit, will take advantage of. When you know she has PB you gotta play more carefully and try to not get caught in the open. Always be aware of your surroundings, just like you would around a Nurse!
-
@artist said:

perks shouldn't be the only form of counterplay to a killer.
You can scratchmark juke or use windows too, also don't use unsafe pallets to try to get away
-

in what way does gen tapping negate prayer beads. that literally makes 0 sense. it's a free hit regardless
If you gen tap with Spine Chill, you have more time to react and get away so that you're never even caught. Hope that helps
-
@Mc_Harty said:
Changing the rarity of an add-on doesn't make the add-on less bullshit.
Why do people keep suggesting this thoughtless idea?
Well it would be more rare thus seen less. It isn't that bad either as Spine Chill and gen tapping can completely negate PB
-
I dunno, Spirit and PB are completely fine. People just don't want to use counterplay I guess and just wanna loop?
-
She's balanced tho

Well for those of you who are not in the know, Netflix recently teased back during E3 that they working with multiple game companies. This included Behvaiour.
I hope not, it's a bad show

The number of pallets is definitely an issue. The devs can "say" they're fixing the safe/unsafe distribution but we'll see what the result is when it's actually implemented.
For now, this is why I prefer playing the hag. I like trapping the pallets which can end a loop before it gets out of hand.
It's not always reliable, but it's better than relying on a perk combo to fix a game balance issue.
I also started playing Hag, sometimes bodyblocking Hag if I feel extra mean lol

You literally just said you’re answer “break the pallet”, if you Dont break the pallet I will abuse that pallet until you do safe or unsafe , or run eduring sprit fury, pallets sorted
Nice you can abuse safe pallets, but I guess playing survivor is hard, huh? 🤷♀️

@[Deleted User] said:
I really wish they would get away from the "every map must have an insanely survivor favored middle building" philosophy too. Crotus Prenn Disturbed Ward is just ridiculous. 4 safe pallets, and 2-3 safe windows in the same building? Who ok'd that?
Isn't that building pretty much an infinite with Balanced Landing too?

Double pallets happen because the minimum pallet count wasn't reached, so the system will break the rules and throw in any pallet in any location, regardless of how many meters they are apart. I definitely agree they are annoying and pretty dumb, but they are very rare after all. Only way to really fix it is improve the pallet system, which they are doing with map reworks.
Don't do that, don't give me hope. But in all seriousness, I'm super hyped for map reworks if it fixes this
-
@HorsePower said:
Pallets have been constantly reduced in the past 3 years. The removal of double pallets removed TONS of them. The only reason they still exist is because the map didn't reach it's minimum pallet count.
There is already a cap for how many pallets can spawn on each map. All maps have a minimum and maximum amount of pallets (the minimum amount of pallets on The Game is 15 for example).
I recommend using Enduring and Spirit Fury if you're having trouble with pallet spawns. It's one of the most powerful perk combos in the game.
Killers already have the upper advantage in the game. They've had it since the pallet vacuum removal (maybe earlier).
Actually I still see double pallets, everywhere. I don't get stunned by them, it's just the amount of time it wastes compared to the time it takes to do gens, it needs to be looked at
-
U guys are overreacting. She's fine. I've gone 10 games in purple ranks just fine, no one has noticed. It's a bug, she's still top tier, chill
