Try playing soloQ survivor. It will change your world.

I have and haven’t lost a game since.

Poor wraith. He had his moment in the sun and then the devs nerfed his lunge without giving anything in return (maybe faster un-clock).

Revert the lunge. It was fine before.

Expecting devs to revert something that the survivor dogma was crying about months. What a waste of time, devs don’t care about killers because they’re not the majority.

    enough said.

why does alch ring not have some sort of drawback or negative too it? it’s way to powerful to just be an addon with no negative downside too it.

Why can boon totems relit??? Boohoo, lost yo a good blight get over yourself.

    Are they?

High Mmr killer here and I’ll tell you right now, no chase is fun when playing a weak killer. especially when it’s a broken 4 man, bonus if they’re streaming and making money off you too! But I doing chases as a nurse against a 4 man toxic twitch party is always fun. Especially when they get so upset that they beg their audience to report you!

I personally don't play Survivor simply because I just don't find the gameplay interesting however I'm after the Rift stuff this time around so I start doing the Survivor challenges and back to back I just keep going against very good Killers with 4k+ hours who use whatever builds no addons but teaming with insanely weak Survivors who run perks that make zero sense who just go down every couple of seconds.

I can see why Survivors say X Killer is OP, this isn't reality it's just this level of play is insanely low. If you spend 75% of the game just running around not doing anything and first gen pops 10 mins into the match of course the Killer is going to dominate and i've seen this now. I never ever get this luxury as Killer my games are just click squads who afk gens in 5 mins, bring maps that massively favor them regardless of what I do, these Killers i've gone against today have undeniably had very easy wins handed to them.

People say "Buff Solo" I don't think doing that will actually suddenly make solo's do their objective or make them suddenly better.

Honestly It's sad to say but I am so jealous of these Killers having such free games where they barely have to pay attention, I would love to have this luxury for a day just to experience It.

its working, it’s working so we’ll that it has uprooted the balance of the game and pretty much killed the game for killer. Of course devs won’t admit to it because his out of touch they are with reality and all…

    Pop goes the weasel

    Scourge hook: pain resonance

    Corrutped intervention

    Deadlock

Match start, can't get a gen done in the first 25 seconds, find and get someone, hook them, 15% lost, know which gen has the most progress, pop it, 40% gone, gen get completed, blocked second most progressed gen, still lose 15% from pain resonance while blocked, pop it afterwards, over and over again.

If you play your cards right it might be the best anti genrush build.

Scourge hook: pain resonance is my new favorite perk and is aboslutely a meta perk

Thank you behavior for actually adding a new meta perk, yes you still need to be lucky with hooks location but still, this is a super good perk.

This seriously adds little to nothing to the table. Let alone to the meta as a whole.

  • @JohnWeak said:

For the last few days, i have noticed a huge decrease in the skill level of the killers i face even though i don't rank down MMR wise as i'm winning 70% of the trials.

Do you experience the same thing ?

My queue times are really long, around 10 minutes during the evening, and ye, average killers now. I rarely see a good one.

Hey probably because survivor meta is near broken now with the dead hard buff and all the good killers see no point in actually playing anymore.

  • @Brokenbones said:

But they just nerfed keys and hatch? Notoriously survivor sided mechanics

There are a lot of reasons to be annoyed and upset at BHVR but siding with one aspect of the game isn't one of them imo

Only took them 4 years to finally do it…..but pre undying. Gone within the first couple of months.

  • @HaunterofShadows said:

I don't think boons are a problem. I've played with them and against them and they are strong but not too strong which I like

Really not being able to see scratch marks or blood for all survivor close to the boon. Then you’re Mmr is not high enough.

  • @Mandy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2581427#Comment_2581427

And as the killer you can then just hit the survivor and hook the one you're carrying. You've also got 2 survivors (minimum) not working on Gens, and another injured survivor.

Ah yes let’s talk about the small positives than actual fairness lol.

  • @Mileena_Kahn said:

Curious to know if you have any stories of survivors being a bully and how did you handle it?

Every game a survivor is on a power trip when I’m playing bubba.. How do I handle it? I camp them and keep swinging on them till they die. If it’s their whole team. Then I slug them all, but I don’t hook them. I wait for all them to bleed out. Takes longer and gives them time to think, if they dc they get nothing. So it’s a win win for me. Idc if the entity is displeased with that. There need to be some form of retention. And bhvr won’t give you that.

    oh hello TAG :0

i'm not implying that it cannot be 'balanced'. based on my understanding on this community's idea of 'balance', it can very much have changes to help benefit both sides. however, because of the nature of the game and its type, you're still going to have issues that will always maintain some sort of unbalance for both parties, RNG being one of them. the game is designed to feature unbalanced dynamics for a reason, and it's to keep it from becoming stale or boring for most people. think of it as like a board game like 'sorry!' or a card game like UNO. they're, by logic, asymmetrical party games as well because of the RNG factor of the cards and whichever rulesets you decide to use.

in this case, the "ruleset" of dead by daylight is hook and kill or escape, and the RNG is your maps, tiles, perks of the other side, etc.

that's why i decided to respond to this thread's title, which is "this game will never be balanced", because they're actually right; it never will be balanced! i just thought it'd be fun to bring this point to the table.

Not talking about map tiles, they’re fine. But most survivor perks, items, and addons are busted to high hell. And devs still pamper them. While they give killers barley anything.

like for example this latest patch. Gives survivors a boon that can be relit unlimited amount of times give survivors the boon buff and one of them can hide scratch marks and blood. On top of that Hal of them can’t even be cleaned by the killer. But of course killers got the trapper and plague buff that’s barely noticeable.

Im hoping VHS does well, this game needs some competition.

Me too, but I have my doubts. This game has some serious potential. But the poor decisions the devs keep making continue to stack up. I’m seriously just starting to think they care more about sales at this point then the actual community.

No killer with the exception of nurse stands a snowballs chane against survs running all meta perks and high end items. Thats why comp has so many rules about what perks, items and maps can play. Even then the game is fairly lopsided.

Exactly there’s absolutely no chance but hey spirit actually making survivors play. Gets nerfed. It’s obvious what side they’re on..

    Hi guys,

After playing killer in high MMR(I mean only seeings 4 gamers join my lobby at once, almost all the time, 1.5k hours -6k hours each, avg of 2.5k hours usually as I've tested) I've come to some realizations, as I'm a 50/50 player and sometimes was a survivor main.

    1. Playing killer became truly unfun, no matter if I ended chases quick(quick for strong survivors as i mentioned moves between 40-60 seconds), by the time I hooked them and went for some gen pressure, I would had lost 2 gens. If the chase was longer than that(which is possible, survivors are good), I would had lost 3 gens.
    2. Pressuring other players and dropping the first chase if it's too long isn't a good idea in high MMR, all of them can play the game(most of the time) pretty well, considered they all have quite some hours and they can all run you for a bit. THERE IS NO WEAK LINK in higher MMR.
    3. You must be a master of one Killer. In the previous ranking system, I enjoyed playing many killers and I became pretty good with them, which borught me nice results. Now, In high MMR, if you're not REALLY good with one killer's specific anti loop power, you're gonna struggle. be a master of one if you wanna try and compete in this level.
    4. Which brings me to the next point, most M1 killers are not viable in HIGH MMR. I consider myself a good M1 killer but when I played pig, even with dashes and all her stuff, I get stumped by good survivors, they know how to counter m1 killers easily in most maps.
    5. Master a killer who is viable, my blight is good, but since I don't know too well how to hug tech, Z flick and do more techs well, good survivors stomp me because they know how to handle normal good blights. become a master of a viable killer, if you master a deathslinger, you're gonna get stomped cause they will hold W and pre drop strong pallets until you lose, for example.
    6. Not only that there's no weak links in chase, because they're good survivors, they know how to be efficient on gens and really crush you. I never resorted to tunneling or camping because I find that gameplay boring, but it looks as a neccisity now tbh. ruin undying would get cleansed really fast in high mmr.

I can continue with more points but this post is already long enough, about the second part of the title:

If you've seen Otzdarva's last "Best Build for every Killer" video, you would see that almost all his builds are the same. Ruin+Pop+Corrupt and something for info with slight varities. this is a silent message for the devs I believe, that in high MMR you gotta have some stacked slowdown gens/crutcs one shot perks like Devour in order to stand a chance.

This is not fun since it renders most perks of the game useless. the other tactic is to tunnel and camp and tbh after playing killer in high MMR, I would never blame killers for doing that again, I truly understand why you're doing that. I won't because it's boring but understandable.

Sorry for the long post, hope you get some intake from it.

I totally agree, but unfortunately devs don’t care about the killer side. Because it’s not the real selling point of the game anymore.. This game is dictated over what the survivors say and do. Look at the Pyramid Head nerf. They cried about how he can make a “unfair” play by acting like he was going for his m2 then surprise them with a m1. Nerfed next patch. Or how about nurse? A extremely hard killer to master and was completely gutted by the devs to satisfy the survivors because she was to “hard” to play against.

Ntm I think it’s funny how they give killers mediocre buffs and get praises for it. How sad is that..but what ever I guess..

Whispers…? Map pressure??? Yeah that’s enough of this conversation..

I am a Gold III Pig I don't actually try that hard unless the SWF is flashy toxic, overly body blocking toxic, hook breaking toxic rare that I get them but I get them pretty frequently and it is by far annoying but I lack perks which synergies make this easier so, I just do my best and run a train and if they really annoying me by being toxic I throw a loop and tunnel and camp super hard and never fail for the FAKE grab crap. But weak killers can be done well just need perks.

I gotcha, but I have all perks except pinheads. Also I do have good builds that I use on my killers with the occasional meme one.

You are going against 12k survivor all the time? Sounds like you are a real bad ass! There are only 15 PC players in the world with 12k and over. I'm guessing you are at least in the top 100 and have amazing skillz that you are demonstrating on your twitch channel with tenths of thousands of followers that make you lost of money. Am I right?

Edit: "From looking at your posts" - how do you have time to research random person post history with all that fame? Just a hobby or are you a pro with few K hours experience creeping through people post history?

Welp, it's you who complain about this stuff when solution is at hand. If you wanted to have a casual experience, you wouldn't care about mmr or win/lose ratio. That's why it exists in the first placed: to separate different types of players. But all I see now is you wanting to bring pub stomping back.

I’m not going to be forced to loose just to have fun with a weak killer. That’s seriously dumb af. Btw I win to rank up to tier 1. Which is the main objective of the game. What’s the point of doing the main objective if I have to purposely derank??? There’s no logic in that. You all can bend over to that garbage.

  • @Xayrlen said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2533262#Comment_2533262

But have you thought about not making a sweatfest every game? You complain about tryhards when you yourself tryharding for that sweet easy 4k. Try chilling in your next game and eventually you will be placed within the desired mmr.

Yep just throw 5 games just to have fun for two. Jesus what a great solution on a game you’re supposed to try in.

  • @darryl said:

im a solo red rank survivor main but i want to start playing more killer.I have played alot of pig, trapper, and myers.I played wraith for the first time and got matched with good survivors. This does not make me want to try other killers just to get my ass kicked every game.Do i just keep playing survivor or what?

Hello, I’m gonna give you the honest truth that people shy from. Playing killer after your first couple of matches to determine where you’re gonna be played on the Mmr scale. These games might suck but you’ll be put with ppl your level. But as you get better at killer you will be paired with better survivors as well. This will go on till you hit a point where it’s next to impossible to win. In other words the better you get the worse the killer game gets… so enjoy those few couple of good games till it throws you in the deep waters.

I'm feeling a bit more relaxed now and i'd like to apologies to the forum and the Devs for my 'Killer Players should quit' message

There are some good killer changes in this recent ptb, the hatch and key nerf, some killer buffs. But i'm still concerned about the Spirit and Slinger changes, not to mention how they'll handle the still-accruing gen speed problem, but hopefully the changes to them in the ptb isn't final and might change.

Its just anytime i feel something unfair is happening, i feel i should step in and do whatever i can to make things fair for everyone.

Anyway, i'm sorry again and i hope there are no hard feeling toward me

Expecting to change the fairness in dbd is like trying to stop world hunger. Next to impossible.

Because I’m going up against survivor who have over 12k hours. Pretty obvious, but I get it. From looking at your posts you seem like the guy that would loose on purpose just so he can get matched against terrible survivors for ez kills. Jeez, talk about sad.

btw if I were hacking I wouldn’t be having this problem lol.

Obviously a low killer Mmr talking.

  • @DawnMad said:

This has been talked here a lot of times. Punishing players for playing together isn't a good idea. The best solution would be to buff Solo Queue information and killers in general.

Yeah the devs are nvr gonna buff killer to that degree, because it would upset the survivor dogma that festers on the forms..

  • @tester said:

True. Some people are used to pub stomping and are now upset they can't do that any longer.

Its so fun being paired up against a swf 4 stack every single game where I have to try my absolute hardest just to draw even with a weak killer. Yeah no wonder why the variety of killers are nothing but nurses and spirits at top Mmr. I sure wish it was ez like what survivors have.

There is no fun for killers at top Mmr anymore and if you think there is, you’re obviously not high enough on the Mmr scale.

    It's too funny.

The devs have obviously gotten out of touch with the reality of things and prefer the survivor echo chambers to listen to.

  • @ad19970 said:

Yeah no they aren‘t. Perhaps the new boon perks are too strong, doesn‘t mean thy dont care for killers.

And no, not everyone is laughing about this update. Some people are happy with it. And some people, get this, are critical towards this patch, or at least a few changes, while maybe liking other changes, and are able to voice their criticism without sounding like a 10 year old.

“doesn’t mean thy don’t care for killers.” Your obviously blue pill…

  • @ad19970 said:

Dear lord, insane how people still think BHVR only cares for one side.

And because BHVR is so survivor sided, they buffed Trapper and Plague, right? And that's also why they nerfed keys into the ground, right?

Not to mention all the other good changes that killers have gotten in the past.

If you think that small pathetic buff to vommie mommy was enough for her. You’re delusional. Ntm trappers only good change was the extra trap in his inventory. But the new addons aren’t even that good. These changes are minimal at best and doesn’t really change anything for either of them.

Now looking at the survivors buffs, it’s like reading the intro to starwars ffs..and not trash ones. Actual buffs! Like to windows, do you know how sting that’s gonna be now? A survivor constantly seeing all pallets and windows during a chase.

    You’re obviously blue pill

finally someone else says it. Making gens take 100 seconds would not only be beneficial for killer but it’ll help new players better understand the percent values brought on by perks and add ons that effect generator repair.

People have been saying it for years………….

  • @SunderMun said:

2 killers nerfed, 2 killers buffed. Loads of bad add-ons getting buffed, and in some cases, new effects, across half the killers.

Yes, 'these killers getting nerfed' are totally not just rebalancing for the health of the game alongside healthy buffs to killers.

I wouldn’t even count vommie mommy’s change as a buff, she’s still trash.

  • @Sonzaishinai said:

So what we know so far

Boon totems provide a safe haven so they probably have an area of effect associated with them.

Lighting a boon totem will probably replace cleansing a totem so it will take 14 seconds by base. A killer can remove these quickly so i assume something like hatch close animations.

Boons can be relit. And you can only have one boon

    What this tells me is

Your boon probably needs to be close to where the killer is.

If they are in a small radius then putting them in a corner of the map won't do you any good. So to make good use of them they need to be in danger of being snuffed out.

14 precious seconds to light a boon for it to be snuffed out in a couple of seconds sound an awefull lot like kicking a gen and having it stop regressing by a single touch. Unless the effects are actually massive it seems to be a timewaster more then anything else.

you don’t see a problem with the killer having a second objective to deal with when it’s already stressful af juggling 4 survivors and apply pressure to gens that only take 80 secs to do with one person on them?? Ntm all boon perks you have in your loadout can be activated by lightning one and if it gets extinguished you can just find another dull totem.. seriously devs are way to survivor sided.
