  • You can basically buy rights to digital content.

Problem is that it is using crypto currency and that takes shits ton of energy, so it's not good for environment, so people decided that it's super bad that BHVR works with NFT.

    I don't really care.

So what does this mean for dbd?

  • Look up ponzi scheme and than look at the people who try to say nfts are great

  • Nothing really. If you don't care about it, then you are fine and you can just play the game.

I don't really get why is it that big issue for everyone.

They are trying to get moral high ground or some BS, so they complain about it.

  • That's why I suggested that people look up ponzi scheme as it's an obvious ponzi scheme

Oh, right, then factor in the environmental impact of burning ~5 gallons of gas per NFT and each of their transactions, and that Boss Protocol is looking at creating 10,000 NFTs (likely on-demand) to start with.

Just the creation of the Hellraiser NFTs will consume enough energy to power an Irish household for 83 years.

    Yup.

And IMO the IRL scarcity of gasoline should be much more than a ######### JPEG.

But that is the beauty and curse of currency, especially unregulated ones.

"it being unregulated makes it better, and ok to consume more energy!" said every criminal ever.

I understand the desire for an "unregulated" currency. However at the moment cryptocurrency has regressed to a "Gas Burn Standard" and isn't sustainable.

(######### it's not even like a Gold Standard where it's a trade of a material, it's literally a standard based on the consumption of one, "gas" is ######### limited)

If we got to the point that miners were using renewable energy rather than cheaper fossil fuels, that would be a more sustainable practice. But fossil fuels are just so much cheaper at the moment for a greater short-term profit.

well until people get together and vote out those in power who enable these corporations to run such unsustainable practises I don't think we'll ever see them stop. The only solution to the fossil fuel problem, is by having our politicians pass laws regulating the consumption of fuels and mandating the usage of green energy.

However people are either too ignorant of what to do, or aren't willing because of the impact it will have on their lifestyle in the short term. It's a really sad predicament isn't it?
