i think alan wake's boon is suppose to be something hex:undying where it boosts boon perks and by boost, i mean actively makes boon stacking across 4 survivor more common.
I.e having circle of healing+shadow step+dark theory alongside it. apparently, it is suppose have boon speed as a bonus and it used to show totem aura's allowing your teammate to plant 4 boons across the map more easily as soon as single boon is lit.
I guess it could be interpreted as that, but sadly, even tho in boosts cleansing and blessing speeds, it only does so when the totem itself is lit, so most of the time the bonus speed is useless unless you want to relocate the already lit totem.

Complete opposite; with the exception of the time that I get cucked because the game decides it wasn't a fast vault, for some reason, Finesse likes to save me. Genuinely the best Survivor perk we've had released for atleast 2 years and while I wish it worked while injured/didn't have a cooldown (maybe not both) it's still a staple in all builds now because it fixes killer latency.
Yea I wish it wasn't health state specific, it probably needs a cooldown tho, even tho I think it could be made a bit shorter, something like 20 seconds would be nice.
-
@Devil_hit11 said:
killer player don't approve of boons, they think mechanic is busted. i don't see them buffing boons any time soon. i'd increase their radius to 32 meters. and see if the perk are any better.
Having a larger range might help some of the Perks a bit, but that wouldn't really fix those mediocre effects some of them have haha.
I don't think it's Killers who don't like boons, BHVR probably isn't sure how to balance them at all, seeing all the previous version of Circle of Healing and the dreadful meta it created 💀
So they probably opt from making new ones, or new good ones at least, seeing that the last Boon we got was from Alan Wake which is the worst boon we have so far lol.

Correct! Your health state would not matter.
Yippee! :D

Lucky Break is now kinda meh, it's not the best, but not the worst, but I have a solution!
Make Lucky Break prevent the Blindness from being in a Locker, and now you have a unique Perk that isn't just Iron Will with extra steps!

Not quite. The old Buckle Up protected both the healer and the person who was healed, meaning when paired with For the People, you could run in, instantly pick someone up, and both of you would be safe thanks to the Endurance. We're Gonna Live Forever only protects the person who was picked up - the healer would still be in danger.
Does Bloodrush activate no matter the health state? It's not really clear from the patch notes to be honest.
So if I'm getting it right, in the next update it should activate for 60 seconds after getting unhooked, you then can press a button no matter the health-state to instantly recover from all exhaustion, is that right?

What's wrong with playing Dracula like Spirit? All they did was make Bat better which is what people asked for, saying Bat was mediocre.
What's wrong with arguably the most overpowered form being nerfed a little? Wolf Form will still be fine and viable.
I'm not saying anything is wrong, just saying that the Wolf form kinda became obsolete because both other forms are now way better than it, at least I think that's the case.

How could you miss it when you used to mainly for distance? I can't reach window/pallet, press E.
It was equally difficult to miss for swing as current DH, but you had more attempts per game.
"miss it" as in "feeling sad that the old version of the Perk is gone", not that I missed like run into a wall lmao.
-
@VomitMommy said:
A lot of survivors
I have started to play current DH with Iron Will and it's quite fun to use imo. Old DH was brainless to use.
Yea it was pretty easy to do, but I aswell also miss it (from the Survivor's POV of course), it was a fun Perk.

@Rokku_Rorru said:
He should lose his power after a scamper, no lunge. literally 0 effort to do well as him.
I wouldn't mind if his Slice & Dice was made a bit more harder to control (tighter turning) in exchange for making Slice & Dice Scamper a thing you can do without it being 99% of the time just free distance for a Survivor.
-
The only thing they should do with Scamper is to make it faster, 1.3 seconds is enough for any Survivor to just duck under a window and make you miss every time. The current speed also ruins the flow of the Slice & Dice speed.
So changing it from 1.3 seconds to 0.9 seconds would be enough I think.

@typervader said:
The backstep on wolf form is perfectly fine. The wolf form NEEDS a weakness and being unable to mind game is fair.
Sure, if the benefit was good enough I wouldn't mind him not being able to mind-game, but as of right now his pounce isn't that good, high risk for a low reward to be fair.

I would love if it just stays perm and have no mere 90 seconds of use, since its a perk that requires everyone down or killed. I think that would only be the change it needs.
Yea that would be cool, but due to Perk tiers it needs to have a value that scales with it.
If it was infinite it would need to have another effect on top that would scale with the Perk tier, which would also be cool I guess.

It's probably one of the most unused perks:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/TS10O5IC2LCZ/image.png
Literally bottom 2 on NightLight, it's so underwhelming it isn't even funny.
What is the least used Perk btw?

@Nos37 said:
The problem with Teamwork perks is that they don't get used, so when I do use these perks, my teammates don't know what to do with them or what they mean.
We finish a heal. Teamwork: Collective Stealth activates. The killer comes near. The other survivor tries to walk away slowly to avoid leaving scratch marks, even though the perk is preventing scratch marks. 🤦♂️
I think the Perks rely too much on SWF play, in Solo Q they're basically unusable due to nobody running them and you cannot force teammates to stay with you, but in case of SWF nobody uses them because of the attrocious cooldowns…
-
@Hexonthebeach said:
I see perks that are good for beginners. I see perks that can help you hide and distract the killer. I see perks for gen speed. I see perks for more survivability and help you loop. And some have synergies with other perks.
Maybe they are not good for you but I like some of these.
If you think or use some of these Perks that you didn't mention by name and you think they're fine good for you, but that doesn't mean they are good in general or they don't have obvious flaws that could be easily fixed.
-
@Nos37 said:
Only perks that help SWF bully and help Solo live long enough to complete 1 gen are used.
They would have to buff these perks over and over until they're game breaking.
12 new survivor perks a year. Still the same 4 perk slots.
Can't have good perks without bad perks.
They don't need to make them meta, they could fix the obvious flaws the Perks have, like Poised being 5 times use Perk at max with a pretty pathethic effect, could at least make the effect last 30 seconds.
-
But without being snarky, what Perks do you really think are good? If you give me your examples I'll tell you why I think they're bad.

Blood Rush does not need to be touched at all. I pray survivors never realize how strong it is
That Perk is so situational that before it does anything you're most likely dead or never had the chance to use it in the first place, and it needs to be paired with an Exhaustion Perk to do anything at all (mostly Sprint Burst). Literally never seen the Perk used once one week after it's release.
-
@MaTtRoSiTy said:
I think its just a fact of DBD that the majority of perks will always be niche and for meme builds more than anything and this is okay.
We don't want every perk to be on an even keel strength wise anyway and some just never will be meta
Of course not every perk needs to be meta or really strong, but some obvious choices like This Is Not Happening could use small adjustments or additions to make them worth using on any level.
-
@ReverseVelocity said:
Inner Focus once again being so unnotable that nobody remembers it even when talking about bad perks.
why does it have a range limit
I mean, the Perk isn't really that bad, it can give you some useful info unlike some other Perks, it would be better without a range limit like Alert is tho I agree.
-
@Hexonthebeach said:

Just posting a list of perks without commenting makes not sense at all.
Because I have done so already like ten billion times, and I don't need to state the reasons because everybody knows why these Perks are bad.

I agree that some do need some love. But even perks like Lucky Break that do have a pretty strong effect, still don't see much use.
And as a Red Herring enjoyer, I'd say it's usable :)
Red Herring is usable, but it could be 10x better without screwing up your team haha, Red Herring activating with a press of a button supremacy!!!! 💪
-
@Solomonkane said:
Honestly, even if these perks were buffed they probably still wouldn't see the light of day unless they were miles above what the current most used perks are.
In the case of both Solidarity and Resurgence (I personally believe that these two are decent perks), since sloppy butcher has been meta, they're borderline useless because of hemorrhage. Maybe the recent nerf might change that.
Yea you're right, even if some of these Perks were buffed they wouldn't be meta ever, but at least some of them would be usable, like Poised or Red Herring haha
-
Agree, either disable the power, or just deplete all charges from it, so Blight for example cannot just instantly rush to you.
-
@supersonic853 said:
Surprisingly ive been getting decent value out of it with we'll make it. Killers are used to waiting to hit sometimes. So i either get a full heal. Or if they return and tunnel off hook which they think the endurance has run out. They end up running into it.
Hmm, never thought of that combo, might give a try, but on its own BT is kinda underwhelming nowadays, especially with DS actually being usable again in the next patch.

Get away with this bugged mess.
What's so buggy about them other than no available pallet spawns at the start of the game?
EDIT: Oh I forgot about them actually stunning Freddy at some point lmao -
@KaTo1337 said:
- A lot of people dont know he exists, so they are irritated when they load up a match and find themselve in some grey filter-world.
- People like me who played him 500+ hours know how to use him at the highest possible level for him
- People love Terror-Radius. Freddy only has one when you are awake. A lot of people are "searching" for him, which direction he is coming from and offer you a free hit
- His synergy with Gen-Perks (especially Dead Mans Switch and Pop)
- He has a passive slowdown (Alarm Clocks)
- Good Freddy Players are rarely use the teleport, but fake the teleport massively, which buys time
- Over time the resources of the map are dead
Most important: When only a few players play him, you will mostly face good Freddys (same on Artist).
If every noob is playing a killer like Huntress or Blight etc., you see and feel massive differences in skill
Do not forget that dream pallets are a noob stomper haha.
-
Here we go.
Buff
The Ghost Face: Some of his add-ons could use a touch up and his stealth is alright but could be a bit better.
The Singularity: He just needs a few QoL changes, like a slightly faster wake-up time after teleport and add-on changes.
Rework
The Nightmare: Just mix the old Freddy with the current one, pull Survivors into a dream otherwise you cannot damage them, rework pallets and snares into something else, one is just Clown but bad, other is a noobstomper, keep gen teleport.
The Skull Merchant: Nobody wants to play against her, she is hard to understand from the Survivor PoV due to all the ######### she can have and apply to you, yet she is still bad, her counter isn't fun or engaging, wow how fun to just stand still or crouch walk and still get hit. Focusing drones for a chase with her rework was a mistake, she has a sickass robo claw yet devs did nothing with it. Just make her a stealth-information Killer with a sprinkled in chase power that is related to her claw, like a longer lunge or a jump attack I don't really care to be honest.

Seems intended. With the Halloween event, you had to complete every single challenge to unlock everything. This event has a sort of buffer, and if you can’t or won’t play enough to be finish every challenge, you can still get all the stuff.
Yea that's a lot better than last events with Trinkets, was just confused because other events always had a precise Trinket to Rewards ratio haha

Nah, current healing is fine.

It would also be good if revealing him would be more punishing. I tried him again today and it was so miserable. Two survivors were constantly following me and revealing me from a save distance and I was powerless the whole game.
I would just decrease the reveal distance from 32 metres to something like 24 or 20 metres maybe, so you would have a 16-20 meter stalking without the fear of being revealed

I think ghostface's philly add-on should be base-kit at the very least. I almost never want to play gf without philly.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3681122#Comment_3681122
for me, the annoying part is losing your stalk when you m1 a survivor. I wish you could stalk but if you fail, you keep your stalk. I know it goes against the whole punished for playing bad as killer but I feel like GF as m1 killer is weak enough that guaranteed reward is warranted for his power.
They could always reduce the punishment from 100% to 50%, so you still get punished for playing bad, but your whole progress isn't lost.

A lot of killers don't have a playstyle alternative addon so I don't see that as being a requirement especially when comparing to Myers, tombstone addons have been needing changes for a while since piece is broken and judith's only gets used for an achievement. Scratched Mirror is map dependant and Vanity's is useless.
Vanity is kinda decent, ever since they removed the movespeed penalty, game changing add-ons aren't a requirement, but they're always nice, much better than having terror radius add-ons on a stealth Killer lol
-
@Crowman said:
Ghostface has always had the issue of needing to run charge addons. It used to be worse when he had multiple charge addons.
I'm not against reducing his cooldown further. It's 24 currently, 20 might be perfect considering that Chuky's power is on a 15 second CD. But what "unique" addons do you really suggest for Ghostface?
He's missing a meme add-on (I love them), he doesn't have any playstyle changing add-ons like Myers has, with a power that simple it's kinda sad :(
+ There are some add-ons that don't make really that sense, like the one that reduces your Terror Radius by 12 meters while crouched.

@Devil_hit11 said:
the perk increases speed boost from 1.8->3.8 seconds. the problem with perk is that you need heal to use it, instant downs bypass the perk and you have low control for when it activates.
My idea for overcome:
When walking, press active ability button to become injured and gain deep wound status effect. you gain 50% haste for 2 seconds
This perk cannot be used while exhausted.
Overcome causes the Exhausted Status effect for 60/50/40 seconds
--
Now the perk does not get countered by instant downs and you can use Made for this with it alongside controlling the activation.
Wouldn't this just kinda be worse Dramaturgy?
-
@Mentally_Mechanical said:
Strength in Shadows nearly saved a game from total loss before, and Wicked has been quite helpful too. Weaving Spiders, I don't know how you'd made it stronger without being ridiculous, but I appreciate what they're going for.
I love seeing perks like these, strong but situational and, in some cases, dangerous to use.
To be honest, Weaving Spiders just needs a rework, nobody uses it outside of SWF because otherwise it's boring waste of time for little to no value.
If they buffed the Generation regression than it could become very strong in the hands of SWF yet still not that much useful for anybody else.
If they reduced the time it takes to activate then it would be too good due to how much it regresses gens, but at the same time, if it was too good, the pick rate would go down because Killers would start to check the basement quite regularly, or just equip that one basement perk that I forgot the name of that reveals the Survivors' aura.
-
@glitchboi said:
It's kinda like how Lethal used to be a full one-time use perk, then got the added bonus of extending aura durations a bit. It's nice to have perks that despite being one-time use or without guaranteed effects have their own bonuses to them.
All of Sable's perks except for the Invocation one (at least they tried something new) are pretty damn solid. I love the self-care one.
Yea the Self Care one is pretty neat, wish more Perks were like this, imagine a basement Perk that would work like Head-On (activates after 3 seconds in a Locker) and it would tp you to the top floor of the basement (into another locker), that would be so cool haha
-
@Valyrie said:
Absolutely.
We got one for using the vaccine against Nemesis, I think DS should definitely get a brief stabbing animation.
The only POTENTIAL problem is it adding an extra second to the overall stun, since you'd need a second for the animation and then the 3 second stun afterwards, making it 4s in total. Not game breaking, but if BHVR doesn't like that then sadly I dunno if we'll get it.
They could make it during the pick up, but that would probably require too much work, since most Killers carry Survivors quite differently (Like Xeno or Nemi or Sadako)
-

@Akumakaji said:
There is the very, very, VERY niche case of 99%ing 5 gens and then complete then all in one fell swoop via the perk. Combos well with the otherwise mediocre Rockie Spirit
Because no gens are actually done, the killer never can reduce their patrol route and might get confused on what to do. But well, its extremely niche
I mean this could be really funny, but it would require a heavily cordinated SWF, to keep all the gens at 99% since the Killer would probably just kick 'em and mainly not die haha, also having one person doing the invocation at the right moment because it can regress 💀
-
@Nebula said:
Also regresses when you attempt to leave if the killer were for example to go to the basement / hook someone in the basement, and super fast as well, like sloppy butcher fast.
The first time I tried the perk I got 90 seconds in, let go for 4 seconds to check if they were hooking basement, and lost easily 20 seconds of progress...
No joke the worst perk to hit DbD live servers in history.
Holy, I didn't know it regressed, when I tried it once I just went afk and finished it lol.
Another reason not to use it.
-
@Mandy said:
If a Gen is blocked it cannot be progressed or regressed - so yes, this is not a bug but by design of the perk.
Then the design is kinda flawed and should be looked at again, 120 seconds is awful + you're broken forever after that.
-
@Marc_go_solo said:
That would be a very cool, optional addition. Save having to use randomizers all the time.
I would probably have one Perk slot locked for my love Fixated, and the other 3 random, that would be fun :)
-
@Xernoton said:
Yes, please! Random perks are great. It makes you appreciate some perks you would never use otherwise.
Agree, wish random perks weren't limited to Tome challenges :(
-
Invocation: Weaving Spiders
The risk vs reward just isn't worth it, waiting two minutes (faster with SWF, not in solo q) in one of the deadliest parts of the map just to become Broken and slightly reduce the time to do Gens isn't a good idea + it's very boring.
Ever since the chapter released, anyone who even spend some time in the basement with this Perk just basically ended the match right there, we weren't winning that.
The Perk idea is good, what isn't is the time investment and the punishement you get for completing it... The reward is alright, but it won't win you trials, since the time you spent in the basement would have been better doing literally anything else.
What could be done?
I'm not sure to be honest, BHVR took the risk with a Perk that affects Gen speeds, these are always trouble to balance (along with Haste). One thing they could is to remove the unnecessary punishment of being broken, second thing they could do is to decrease the time it takes to finish so it's usable in solo q, also decrease the bonus from other users.
They should either completely rework this Perk into something that's niche but fun, or keep it the same but have several headaches with balancing this.
