5% movement speed is significant at a lot of loops. I use PWYF on Bubba a LOT and just 1 stack is a game changer. Having to deal with a killer that is 5% faster than you the rest of the game is an interesting idea, but it's too much of a punishment for either a free stun or a free pickup that also costs a perk slot imo.
Perhaps only till your next down would work
-
Demogorgon. Some people say he needs slowdown to setup. In my opinion, all he needs is distressing, IF, and NOED for the endgame and he can usually tear SWFs to pieces.

Not really in order to do that you need to down the survivor close to the gate but not too close make sure no survivor at your location and maybe have a perk that will help you and still you will lose the game.
Untrue. I pop even untouched gates sometimes, especially if i have a very defendable hook near it. Suddenly theres a timer to save their friend and escape, and i can do both while barely moving.
Most people see gate popping as self destructive, and it is to an extent, but knowing when to open one yourself to force plays is one of the most fun things to do.
-
@apathyinc said:
You can quit any time you want, just select "Leave Match" and it's done. But since there isn't a way to 100% identify a SWF, you could just end up quitting over every little thing that doesn't go your way, even if you were up against a bunch of solos.
This explains a lot

Or you could open the gate yourself
This. If you see a 99% gate pop it open and either force an exit or let the egc apply pressure for you

I don't believe they should be healed from cleansing. just cleansed of sickness. No where did I ever read or hear about a damn insta heal from her fountains. I cleansed when I had deep wounds and it only took the mend away and I was still injured so do that same thing just take sickness.
Id be fine for them healing a state if they were healthy when they became sick compared to if they were already injured.

As a survivor main I have no idea what killers go through on a daily basis and what things are pitted against you. I want to know how the game is for you and what you would do to make the game more balanced. All I ask is that the changes be reasonable. ( I want to and I will listen)
Edit: From what has been told the problems are as followed
- Poor Map design
- Matchmaking
- Perk (for both sides)
- RNG
- Generator Speeds
- Survive with friends
- Toxicity
- Disparity between killers
Thats for now if I missed anything tell me and thank you.
As someone whos actually played the survivor side, how 80% of your pressure comes from survivors being idiots or chickens. Ive won way too many survivor games because the second the killer loses interest me i just get back on the gen. If they chase me off its just wasted time on their part while others do gens.
Basically, doing your objective as a killer makes it harder, not easier, to win games against people with any shred of tactics

That's an interesting idea I haven't thought of. If she could pick up her traps after they've been removed, she would be able to keep her power throughout the trial. Instead of losing half her power by the endgame like Freddy.
Only traps that werent powered mind you. Itd be a bit much to give activated ones bacj, they had worth after all

@Bwsted said:
The hatch spawns at the beginning of the trial, but it becomes visible when the usual conditions are met (gens repaired, remaining survivors, etc.)
The hatch will be added to the map when you get in range, but its aura will be revealed only once the hatch is visible.
This. You can track it, but can't see it before it actually appears. If you pay attention you might find a score event for tracking it when nothings really nearby.

Not always. I'm pretty sure one of the killers has an addon that doesnt exactly apply to their power.

Do you have poor internet connection? That's the only thing I could think of... Hit validation doing what it is supposed to to you?
I have over 800 hours in the game and have watched over a few thousand hours of streams and have never seen this issue before.
Sometimes, but even when it's a consistent 20 ping it still fails.

I think Pyramid Head probably is the one that actually makes me feel powerful and dangerous when playing him. He's really tall and strong, look-wise. Gameplay-wise he also makes me feel powerful, just because of how he can shred through the survivor's defences. I think his mysterious vibe also makes him dangerous and scary, on-top of that his HUGE knife.
Please tell me your killer that you think makes you feel powerful and dangerous when playing!
Demogorgon.
I know how to do massive damage and pressure the entire map with him, and thats before perks. Whack on NOED, Distressing, IF, and STBFL and the second that last gen pops its a slaughter cause he only has 2 objectives to defend.

Wait, what? I've never ran into this. I mainly play Ghostface, Demo and Plague. Never ran into an issue where I can't hit them when I shouldn't. Ik it causes a lot of issues to Huntress and Oni, though. 2 killers I've never once touched.
Mind explaining what you mean?
Every time I've had a survivor interact with a vault they've become invincible for a few seconds during and after the animation. I can literally swing at a survivor who's done nothing but put a hand on the window frame and will magically miss, even if it's a medium or slow vault. Can still grab at least.
-
It makes survivors invincible as long as they plan to vault a window in the next 3 seconds.
Not even joking.

I'm guessing that's the most toxic thing you can do to your own team, reportable hopefully ban-able.
Solution?
Remove ability for killer to YANK people away from save, also, remove survivor ability to stop un- hooking.
Killer can hit, interrupting unhook, and still prevent save if using STBfL.
Survivor can't be toxic, killer shouldn't be camping anyway. We all win.
Its there to punish for unhooking in a killers face. Its alright as it is

LOL NO.
This is nowhere near as bad as facing Tuft/Tombstone Meyers that enters Mori Mode permanently. It limits her hatchets and only rewards you for having AMAZING aim. If this is a huge problem for you, you must be in Red Ranks. Even then, with the hatchet causing no cooldown on M1, it is already fairly easy for a Huntress to land a toss at point-blank range and follow it up with a quick M1.
The difference is the survivors cant avoid a good huntress. With myers its possible for him to never reach EW3 if the survivors are careful and alert

I'd love for killers to keep my offerings of poopy toolboxes and medkits too. Especially if I come across a farming killer whose funny, I'd want them to keep my decked out purple toolbox as a sign of appreciation.
All dropped items at the end of a match could perhaps go into a reward box or something, and you could place those items on whatever character you like. Idk, I just want that Ghostface to have kept that toolbox and be able to use it when they play survivor :c
Perhaps items left at the end of a trial are counted until some number, and when you reach it you get a charm showing that item that can go on hooks.

Want to scare the killer? Quentin.
As far as cosmetics go, Dwight has some interesting ones, he also gets special attention during holidays (He has a christmas present cosmetic as well as an elf one).
I went through all of the survivor cosmetics and I have to say I was disappointed. Too many recolors and not much originality. I mean they are designed well, they just don't "wow" me for the most part. I wish they'd hire me, I'd give them some nice designs.

Why are there not stronger penalties for this? This makes me not want to play at all. More and more terrible players are maining killers and relying on face camping and leaving players unhooked to guarantee a full clear win. Why isnt there a mechanic that will allow players to get up if they are left to bleed on the ground? They just leave you there and you cant fix generators, open the gate or do anything. You just sit there and watch the screen for however long it takes you to bleed out.
In the case of face camping, its despicable and shouldnt be done.
Slugging is aight tho, sometimes killers dont have time to hook you or youre more useful down

It's cheatable. You don't really need to lose the survivor, just the chase. Hell, you can keep following them as long as you dont look at them.
-
Survivor: Decisive strike. Delete it and start from the ground up for an anti tunnel perk.
Killer: Nurses calling. Way too good on killers who can obscure their terror radius.

For the past few weeks my friends and I have been having issues with pallets. when running from a killer the prompt to drop the pallet either doesn't come up at all or will make me drop it from the wrong side. there have also been instances where dropping a pallet has done nothing to the killer or the pallet is dropped and the killer somehow seems to teleport through the pallet, hits the survivor and then teleport back to the other side. i love this game but these thing's have made it harder to play and even harder to do tasks like stunning the killer X amount of times.
Does anyone else have this issue and if so is there anything that can be done about it?
If you're sroping from the wrong side you're hitting space to quick. You need to be on the other side before you drop it behind you.
As for the teleporting thing, is the pallet drop and the hit happening in the same moment? Killers can still land a hit during the drop animation, before getting stunned and being forced back.

Still, it doesn't make any sense. It should be classed as a buff and not a debuff. Then can you explain to me why Prove Thyself is classed as a buff? It doesn't make the repairing of a gen 50% faster.
If the bar is red, your contributions to the objective is under 100% effectiveness. As a survivor, when you have 2 survivors on a gen, you all lose a bit of speed, thus you no longer are going at effectiveness and the bar turns red to signify this. Even happens with sloppy butcher when you're getting healed iirc, because you, whilst not doing any healing yourself (unless you're a self care gamer) your contribution is less than 100% since you are delaying charges being applied.
-
Poor Kate, terrified that the dwight has cursed the gen and flinching expecting it to blow up.

You load into the game. You get a lobby. You check if the pings good. It is. You check what servers the regions the others are on. They're the same region as you. You play the game. Start a chase. The internet thingy comes up on the left hand corner. A little lag lasts about three seconds. Another chase same thing. Next minute you can't use your power or weapon, and survivors freeze in place or walk into walls.
HOST DISCONNECTED FROM SERVER or INTERNET CONNECTION REQUIRED TO PLAY THE GAME.
I very had this three games in a row. I just woke up and had one. The other two were last night Before I quit due to my penalties being built up. And now it's on 15 mins. Don't mind the penalty. Just the fact that I'm getting kicked out of my games, ruining my fun. I'm convinced that it's not my internet (mobile hotspot, don't have wifi) and it works perfectly fine on other games.
I think it might be server sided, or I'm being DDOSed.
The reason I think it might be server side. Is that my internet has never let me down once and for a fact I'm playing another game right now. Nothings happening. The reason I think I'm being ddosed is due to someone I ran into two days ago. Who was really salty and harrassed me in the end game chat. And wanted to verse me again, telling me to que up as slinger or nurse (obviously choosing nurse, I'm horrible at Slinger) ever since then. Laggy games. But I highly doubt it. Leading me to heavily believe Its server side, but can still be convinced otherwise.
If you have a fix for this or can confirm that its server side or I'm being ddosed (never been ddosed before, so I have no idea)
If it also helps I got phone calls last night during game that would cause me to lag a lot but not this much. Ignored them. Didn't know who they were. The voicemails consisted of unrecognisable laughs (male). Which consisted of two others one on the same day and another on the encounter of the salt lord I encountered. I probably won't respond for a while as I am continuing on sculpilting Charlotte on blender. Thanks for reading this.
Not DDoS. With the new dedicated servers they shouldn't be able to see your IP in any way, and a DDoS would affect all service, not just DbD. Furthermore mobile data changed IP pretty much every time you turn it on and off.
Servers are fucky, 100%

@Terro said:
There's CJ tech but that requires a downed survivor and a flash light.
There's also another one I've seen a YouTuber do months ago but it only works against really awful killers. I'm not totally sure how it works or I might be misremembering it, since I only saw them do it a bunch but they didn't explain what it was (they were testing/bullying a nooby killer). You pallet stun the killer and then slide back to the killer. If the nooby killer spams swing/holds it down during the stun (dunno which) due to inexperience or rashness, then the survivor can kinda step into the killer and not get hit (no clue how it works). Then the survivor just slides back over the pallet before the killer recovers from hitting it, since they're body blocked.
Oh wait that's just dumb tech.
Its because the hitbox on a swing doesnt share the collision box of a killer. By vaulting into the stunned killer, you end up in their collision box. Since the hitbox of the attack is always in front of the killer it will swing, hit the pallet, and because you're still next to the pallet (even if you're inside the killer) you can vault it.

Ok, fair enough.
However, not 'too close' or 'too far' is... incredibly chancy at best. It seems like no matter where I am, I can never fully reveal him. I have run behind him while he's chasing somebody and still been unable to reveal him! so I don't know what I'm doing wrong... :I
Too close seems to change, i think I've got it down to what he's doing (though its just theory). It seems when he's still, the minimum range is like 2 meters, when moving its like 6 meters and when in a chase its like 12 meters. I thinks its so in a chase the survivor he's chasing cant break him, and by running to close you're considered part of the chase. Or something.

Can literally be 5 feet in front of him, nothing in my way, staring directly at him. Exposed. Doesn't even play the noise to say that I'm revealing him.
Each. And every. Time.
(I am sure this is not how it's supposed to work. RIGHT?)
This is intended. You cannot be too close (or too far) from ghostface if you want to reveal him, and at least 33% of him needs to be visible. This is to reward positioning (in the case of a distant stalk or a well placed lean) and aggressiveness (in the case of in your face). It also helps with making sure you dont detect him just cause your camera lazily glanced over him in the distance, and so the jumpscare of him appearing isnt given away by the audio cue.
Intended behaviour, not buggy.

I main Nurse and have a very slug-centered gamestyle. My rule of thumb is to go into the games (with 0 slow down perks or sloppy butcher, at most) and slug and hook people, actively avoiding tunnel (if I have more options than just the person who got unhooked, I'll take them). I will make sure to hook everyone somewhere between 1-2 times before it htis 2 gens and then I'll look to kill someone finally (as this slows the game down to a halt and usually means I'll get 3-4 kills by the end, but the enemy team can at least feel like they've played the game).
However, I'll run across people who sit on top of gens or run into lockers to force DS. I understand that this might be to prevent slugging. But I will 100% tunnel someone out of the game after they use that perk on me (unless it was my own doing of picking someone up before 1 min. is up). I feel like this is such a dirty way to use the perk and once it is gone, I can just abuse that fact (instead of being forced to assume that everyone runs it).
Just curious, whats your reaction on a survivor faking a DS locker? I've done it a few times and it's been enough to get some killers to abandon me (even though I dont even have DS unlocked or even have the character), so I'm wondering how you'd react to grabbing someone expecting a DS and then they just dont have it.
-
Demogorgon
Infectious, Distressing, NOED, Whispers/BBQ
Rat liver, Mews guts
I purely play endgame with demo as he gets stronger by default the less he needs to defends. Once its down to 2 gates and with NOED, IF and Whispers/BBQ, demogorgon becomes insane. I soon want to replace Whispers with STBFL but that might take a while to get myers levelled for it.
It may make him a very weak killer through most of the game, but once the gates are powered he becomes a stone wall capable of mass terror and damage in short amounts of time, especially if the survivors decide to group up.

I'm consistent red ranks but if I'm chased I'll be downed within seconds. I just plain suck no matter how much I practice. I will literally bring my team down if I get chased. But I take care of most of the healing and unhooking, and I can repair gens because I just hide until the killer leaves then go back to repairing. The only time I try to get chased is if someone who would die if they got hooked is being chased or something
This. I'll take aggro as a last resort, but you better believe that if it could end in my death i will abandon you

I would like to know, however, how the perk designs in that clip appear more, idek, like cartoony than the perks I have on console DBD. Do you have a different version, or is it a UK feature? I’ve seen this once before, though I thought it was some form of hack modification from that specific streamer or sth.
On pc the perk icons (and a lot of generic icons) are just PNG files that can be replaced and the anticheat just doesnt care.

Vigo and the Observer have their own pocket dimensions separate from the trial grounds and can choose not to participate.
We know less details about Vigo, but the Observer is currently able to control the fog and do pretty much anything he wants except escape to the real world.
A personal theory of mine is that these two are allowed to do so by the entity and havent really outsmarted it. Its watching them curiously to see what they do. In vigos case it may be curious about itself and letting vigo study it in an attempt to learn about itself.

Killer's ping matters too, but yeah the ping of other survivors is mostly meaningless. Might cause some weird teleports here and there but that's about it.
Thats an old thing. It only matters on their end now, for seeing survivors and progress on gens. With dedicated servers now it doesn't really matter as long as you have a fast connection (in fact, and i know this from experience, it's hard for a high ping killer)

Dying Light also reduces repair speed assuming you meet the qualifications.
You can mix it with Nemesis or Furtive Chase to swap obsessions, or just eat a DS. This lets you (potentially) stack 8+ Dying Light Stacks.
Besides that and the ones you mentioned, I cannot think of any other speed reducers.

Well that's an interesting theory but I think ONLY Vigo escaped since in one of blight's addons says this
Vigo's Journal: The journal of a man who claimed to have returned from The Void. The knowledge within has practical applications
"In a wasteland of forgotten dreams and endless routine, the man with a way out is God." — Talbot Grimes
So this indicates that Vigo might have escaped the realm but the question is How?
He didnt escape. The void is a subrealm where discarded killers and survivors go (i cant remember what officially said this, but i know its official). To escape the void would just put you back where you started most likely

Ah aight then.
Fun fact, theres a different kill animation depending on whether the survivor is healthy/injured or dying.
