Use your phasing. When phasing as Sadako, you can tell when you're invisible by looking at your hands. If you cant see them, the survivors cant see you. Use it to time approaches to squeeze distance out of them

It's not even that good. If someone is rescuing another person, then you are already aware of where half the team is. So it is, at the very maximum, showing you where two people are. Call of Brine is the only one that seems any good to me and it's really hard to tell in practice when I use it.
Its bit more than that. The Ira breding is long enough to watch them. Sure, you know where they are, but the reading lets you know where they're going and what they might do.
-
So, this is most likely what's happening:
Ruin only detects on generator release
Survivor releases Gen, Ruin procs
Ruin is down, generator regression is stopped
Undying kicks in, ruin is reinstated
Gen fails to start regressing because it only checks for survivors releasing, not for progress
Killer is also now unable to kick affected gens due to that checking for Ruins status, not regression(?)
Generator is now effectively frozen until touched or ruin is down
This could potentially be abused to forcefully freeze a Gen at 99% by survivors, though it would be difficult

somebody says you need to rotate the sadako and make her behinding the camera . but I don't know if that working
It does, turning her stops it.
Issue is, eventually, she turns back around, and its always when people aren't paying attention to her.

Blight had a similar issue on release, and they fixed it.
Onryo isn't just small - her camera feels lower than Hag. Low camera angles also tend to make people motion sick (which was a core complaint about Blight) so we will see what the devs do.
That said - she needs help in a lot of areas...like actually giving her an impactful power and not just a bunch of superfluous fluff bolted to the carcass of an M1 killer.
Blight sprints across the map tho so that lower camera felt really fucky and hard to control. Onryo doesn't suffer that.

This explains why my games have been fair(er) lately

Suggested this, got slammed for "too op"
Us legion mains will just have to wait until we get passed over, nerfed for some reason, then cry in a corner.

I know I compared Nurse to an F1 car a few months ago but you didn't need to take it so seriously bhvr.

It is screams ghostface? Then literally tell me, who is ghostface from? 😂😂😂 the only thing original is the robes and the characters behind the mask. That's how the devs did it because of licensing. If the devs could they would've made him the og black robes ghostface.
Ghostface is the mask. Anyone who wears the mask can call themselves ghostface, even if they're not from scream

Why do you do it? Why do you add skins for licensed characters that aren't even in the movie? Look at what you did to ghostface, he has literal ice outfit and am I expected to get excited when I see him? It's dumb. Nemesis with his blighted outfit, why? You ruined his look from RE3. He should've gotten a skin from the older games but not a blighted one. I just really hope Michael Myers doesn't get a blighted skin because I thought dbd was a game where we have these horror icons but you're changing their appearance? Oh I'm going against sadako? Hell yeah, oh wait, what is that new skin she has? THAT'S NOT EVEN SADAKO. All I hope is for people to not buy these outfits because they completely change the characters look and makes a licensed character less worthy. I mean, would you have bought nemesis if his blighted skin was his default?
Ghostface isn't "screams" ghostface, its an original character using the license to the mask, nothing morw
-
Its not about running away from killers, its about evading them, by losing them and not getting caught.
Issue is survivors will just W to the furthest corner of the map so you either can't chase them or can't protect gens, which eventually culminates into a lose lose situation where no matter what you do, survivors keep gaining time

I've played 12 games with her today and feel like I'm starting to get a grasp on her.
TLDR: She's extremely cool in theory, but needs some more love and doesn't play how you'd hope she'd play.
The Good
- Her visuals are striking and very different.
- Her audio design is stellar overall.
- Her tiny size makes certain loops a bit easier to mindgame.
- I frigging love her mori.
- One decent perk.
- TVs (when they work correctly, more about this soon) allow her a good amount of on-demand traversal.
- Her premium skin may be my favorite skin ever added to the game. Finally a skin that makes a killer look scary without making them stick out like a sore thumb!
- Her addons are mostly decent, way more interesting than Artist's - except for the completely useless Oblivious one.
The Bad
- TV spawning logic is all over the place. Indoor maps can have TVs spawn in the middle of nowhere on the second floor above a gen on the first floor with no way to access it easily, and I've had one game on RPD where all but one of the TVs were in a completely useless position.
- Her stealth is...cool, but sort of useless. It's impossible to tell where your phasing 'image' is going to pop up, making it unreliable for mindgaming, and on approach, once I'm within visibility survivor behavior seems to be almost indistinguishable from their behavior if I just approach manifested.
- It feels like far too much of her kit has been shunted into brown and yellow addons. Not since pre-rework Pig and Demo have I had a killer where it feels like I have mandatory addons (well Doctor, but Doctor is Doctor).
- Condemn feels like an afterthought. People already seem to be completely ignoring it, and even so - I've managed to max out exactly 2 people in 12 games despite trying to do so. It wasn't difficult for them just to elude me until they were able to drop stacks. The KI notification is pretty brief.
- A lack of any sort of reliable anti-loop tool immediately makes her extremely mediocre. If you get sent to Eyrie, Ormond, Swamp or worst of all, the newly buffed Badham (why?) you are going to get looped to pieces and teabagged all the way to the exit gates by any half decent survivor.
- Her size makes certain interactions really fiddly. Snuffing boons, for example, requires pixel perfect positioning, weird angles and feels...off on some locations.
- Something about her scoring feels wonky - even games where I kill 3 survivors don't seem to be awarding me enough points. No idea what's going on.
Suggestions
- Consider baking some of her addon power in baseline, particularly Watch and Hair. Right now, using these two makes her stealth feel 'right' - and it's never nice to have mandatory addons.
- Condemn feels like it needs to be more meaningful as a secondary objective. Right now, people just seem to mostly ignore TVs and tapes unless they are in a 3-4gen scenario and need to disable a specific TV.
- TV spawning logic should not put TVs on different floors to their gen.
- Perhaps adding a small speed boost after demanifesting would help her in loops?
For phasing your hands also phase in and out when you phase for survivors (baring latency)

Mm. I'm trying to play her as if I was a mirror Myers, but I'm not exactly sure how effective her 'invisibility' is (and the survivor POV footage available is spotty at best) because it's as if I were a standard killer - I'm getting looped perfectly as if they could just see me.
When your hands are invisible to you you're invisible to everyone, use it to help time approaches.

she/he has already made it clear that she/he is from another platform. I don't play on the Switch but you can't judge that the person is inexperienced just because these skill tests are difficult using controller and not keyboard (apart from occasional problems such as fps drop, lag, etc).
Changing the subject but making a small analogy, it is the same for those who have visual comorbidities and have difficulties with the game's filters, colors, etc. I particularly have a lot of difficulty with dark maps and killers that use traps (hag/trapper), and I already wear glasses on the pc because of the high degree of astigmatism.
Finally, making it clear, there are many possibilities, and not because the person is "new or inexperienced"
about the topic, i have already spoken about it on forum, merciless storm doesn't need to be changed (neither nerfed or buffed), the point is you create synergy with others perk (like tinkerer) to catch survivors off guard in the skill tests that start at 90%. I don't particularly have problems with these tests as survivor, and there's no reason to remove the tests, which are precisely the counterplay to prevent the generator from being blocked (but if used with tinkerer for example or alone with a very fast killer, as I said, you can arrive before the survivors finish the generator on 90% and force the block).
I missed the platform comment, sorry. As someone who's played:
PC
Xbox
PlayStation
And switch
Versions of the game. Skillcheck ez. Its literally press button to win.

So yea my first game against the Onryo was not fun at all. I went into it blind because I wanted it to be as scary as possible. Unfortunately the scariest part of the match was realizing how freaking OP Merciless Storm is. I imagine this is going to be on the build of every killer from now until the end of time. How is this perk fair at all? Those skill checks are nearly impossible to hit all of them and you're basically punished for working on a generator. Its almost like giving the killer an easy notification that you're there and a gen is almost done. Who needs tinkerers when they can just use this new perk? I wouldn't mind if the skill checks were normal skill checks but to make them smaller and proc that fast is too much. New players are going to get screwed all the time going against this perk. Hell I would say most players are going to have a hard time with it. Oh well. I guess the new survivor meta is going to be to work on gens to 70% then leave them for someone else to do. Oh joy...
Ig you're new? Only times I've broke gens is either cause I ducked up going for a great check, or I was although tabbed, and I'm not a good player. Skill checks are insanely easy.

Ok there’s some stuff wrong here.
1st Why is Sadako A-Tier her perks don’t really look that good.
2nd Leatherface, Clown, Plague and Blight should be A or S tier cause Bubba has BBQ and chili, Plague has corrupt, Clown has PGTW and Blight has Undying and blood favor.
Remember when blood favor was toted as the worst perk in the game and served no purpose but for its icon to take up hard drive space

Except this logic is inherently flawed.
A secondary objective is something that exists in the base game to aid in your primary objective either directly or indirectly, such as opening a chest for an item.
Totems are exclusively tied to perks. Perks are not secondary objectives; they're effects with conditions.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2836466#Comment_2836466
Let's be realistic, who runs those perks by themselves? They're almost always used in conjunction with CoH... well, unless you're either a Giga-Chad, or the ultimate solo-queue troll.
Secondary objective is healing, as it extends survivability. Guess which boon has the worst issues...

Right now its biggest use is waiting out the timer than hooking someone so that no one can escape before the EGC ends.

Blood Warden should "charge" when the last gen is popped. Then trigger when the doors are open. I think 99ing doors is way too easy to negate this perk entirely.
This removes its threat of keeping everyone in till the egc pops

as I said above, latency would work in favor of the survivor here as the killer would be in front of the survivor then
Yeah but DVD has really weird autoaim for killers, I've hit people behind me as both hillbilly and blight before
-
you have to remember the damage hitbox lingers for the entire swing, so even as he turns he can still damage. Due to latency, the turn and damage happened at the same time.
-
If they're running in a straight line (even when it makes no sense) either you or they have horrible internet and rubberbanded back
-
Fire up. Not only does it require you losing gens, but the bonuses are completely negligible. I've seen it have an affect on a match once in the entire time its been out
-
@Heartbound said:
It used to work better a few years ago, but now most killers are trained to go across to the other side of the map since survivors spawn as far away from you as possible.
What this means is that Vigos puts you where you'd normally be anyway and the killer is going to beeline across the map like he normally does. Oddly enough what I've found works best is going to the center of the map to avoid the killer since most of the time they'll be searching the corners.
I usually flip the map and run to the killers spawn and do gens there since hell either start chasing near spawn or that's 2 gens going where the other can't be pressured

Thought so.
And to answer your question:
If the game engine would be potent enough (and I know it isn't given the amount of effort every little mechanical change needs) i would expect to see an arachnid killer.
A spider whose power would be to climb walls similar to the aliens in the old "Aliens vs Predator 2" (if someone except me even played/remembers that game?) With a similar pounce attack like Demogorgon or victor.
Imagine the spider killer walking on the ceiling in an indoor map or pouncing across that map from a tree or high mainbuilding.
And while that would be cool, it would also be mechanically broken and to some point more op than nurse.
So i would not expect to see it ever without being a lackluster version.
Oh and since you and I already mentioned the alien franchise (and I totally forgot that you asked for a licensed killer 🤣), we could straight up take the alien from the aforementioned game "AVP 2".
I've heard rumors its planned, but they are just rumors right now so take it with a grain of salt

By your logic CoH would be fine if it granted slower (self)healing and the nerf was the right direction?
though I don’t think selfcare is as useless as you both make it out to be. CoH has still limitations, it needs to get booned and is only available within a limited range, in most cases survs have to go out of their way to get there making the selfhealing process in its current state almost as effective as selfcare or even slower.
smart use of selfcare isnt that weak or niche and if the team plays around with it it could make hit and run playstyle as useless as CoH makes it now.
and a smart/coordinated team was always able to reset injuries easily even before CoH.
I think a better move would be to give it limited "charges." 1 heal is 32 charges, so maybe 64 charges before the boon breaks itself, but buff the speed slightly

Steam has had issues today. It could of been a disconnection due to that.
DBD can also just drop games for no reason with no warning sometimes.
-
Dead hard. When you do your dash you're hindered and unable to vault/pallet for 3 seconds, but the killer suffers a longer recovery if they swung at the dead hard.
-
@Mooks said:
Well. Wouldn’t Self-Care also remove the survival horror aspect in the same regard?
i think the problem with CoH is giving selfcare to the whole team while only using the perk slot for one surv.. proposal: leave as is but only grant the selfcare ability to the booner and not the mates.
Self care:
Was only usable by a single survivor on themself
Is slow as #########
Very niche
doesn't force the killer to abandon and potentially lose gens cause you placed a boon making the injured state a nonissue

Survivor got sick of deathslingers #########

Usually, NM. Some killers do it cause it cancels out the survivors loud as ######### scream when hooked though.

100% this.
I am a hider. The game was made with hiding as the intended gameplay mechanic, not looping. That said, I only like to hide between objectives. I would never hide doing nothing for 10 minutes just to draw the game out. But if a killer is coming towards me, I am not gonna click a flashlight at him, I am gonna circle the tile slowly to avoid his notice.
Mostly cause I treat this game as a horror game not NASCAR simulator.
This. Sometimes, if need be, I'll take aggro from another survivor, but 99% of the time I'm hiding and thinking about myself in the moment
-
Its not teaming, unless the survivor directly helps the killer (eg leading the killer to every survivor to get them killed)
-
I've never seen another survivor use it, I've only ever used it myself to mark items of importance (such as hexes or, previously, the hatch)
-
I prefer hiders. A lot more fun trying to guess where they went rather than "Run in circles for 2 minutes around a broken loop till you deadhard for distance and hit me with a pallet you didnt deserve"
-
what's this Hawkins you speak of?

Hillbilly. No matter what MMR I'm at or what I do I get the cracked hillbillies with meta perks, a totally silent chainsaw and terror radius capable of hitting me across the map around a 270 degree corner.
