When Actual BBQ shows auras of survivors and awards the same amount of bloodpoints? BBQ provides benifits and bloodponts, WGLF only provides bloodpoints.

Granted atm all Aura perks are useless, but that will be fixed and I still want to know why.

Fun fact: WGLF use to grant 200% BPs :D That's why it did nothing else. Then Survivors would literally kill each other over BPs without BT or a care in the world as long as they got their stacks. I'm talking unhook in front of the killer without BT twice, sandbag other survivors and even point survivors out for a stack. It was chaos. This was before safe unhooks was a thing. That's why its so lackluster. You'd get so much more BPs than killer for a weaker version of BBQ but Survivor's decimated it.

  • @Dwight_Fairfield said:

I've no problem with them. Michael has to work to get them going. And you can counter it by jumping in lockers. You can also tell if he has it by his left hand being closed.

I never knew that O.o Thank you.

  • You run what you like. I love DH and BT. I love being able to run a killer for ages and unhook a survivor who is being face camped by a new Bubba so they get away while I take the heat. It feels great knowing you're the reason most everyone lived. DS is mandatory on Laurie. Without it, 90% of the time, you get tunneled either way xD

  • NOED just gives that final push for killers who didn't have insta-down to apply enough pressure because they played like survivors always tell them to do. It's a little reward for the killer and an unpleasant surprise for survivors who did nothing but gens without worrying about totems. Balanced; as everything should be.

  • @King_Steve_Forever33 said:

But it could activate afterwards? Just based on the way the perks are said to work it should activate is the point.

It heals you after 30 seconds. If you're broken, you can't be healed. Under normal conditions, your broken status would disappear after 30 seconds allowing the trigger to heal you. Deliverance is 60 seconds. After 30 seconds, the first perk tries to heal you but can't so it deactivates. You still have 30 seconds of broken and since you missed the trigger, it will not trigger twice. Status's will never double but if a number is higher, it will reset to the higher number. If you have 5 seconds left on MYC but unhook someone and it triggers, you're back to 60 seconds, not 65 seconds.

  • This is a pvp match. If you lose, suck it up. Its your skill vs mine. Not bots. If you can't handle a loss, you shouldn't play. Its simple as that. When you ruin others' experience because you played bad or refuse to play efficiently, you shouldn't be allowed to play PVP games. All you do is hurt the game and the community. Street Fighter is a pvp game. They get massive time bans for dc'ing. Any game where you play against a real person for a show of skill is Player Vs Player. Its unsportsmanlike and dc'ing until you get a super easy match is lazy and shouldn't be allowed.

  • @King_Steve_Forever33 said:

@AVoiceOfReason yes but that doesnt answer the question.

It does. You can't be double broken and a perk can't make you broken if you're already broken. That would make no sense. It's like Yugioh. If an effect says must be sacrifice a monster on the field to counter a spell but the monster died due to a second card in the chain that activates first leaving no way to trigger the effect anymore, the effect never takes place. If you're broken, a second card heals you after you're broken for 30 seconds and it activates but your second broken is 60 seconds, you miss the activation time since you're still broken and can't be healed.

  • Depends on how mad they've made me. Sometimes I'll say gg then wait for a negative response then say, "You should try not dying. It does wonders lol." I leave afterwards but that's if they really got under my skin.

  • @King_Steve_Forever33 said:

@thrawn3054 second wind makes you broken when you heal though, so you are broken when you heal. Its also weird that second wind and adrenaline work but this doesnt.

Second Wind makes you broken as punishment before rewarding you. Its a trigger. If the trigger doesn't happen, no reward.

  • @Anghroth said:

Actually, there would be a really simple solution to fix camping/tunneling. Starting a chase with a just unhooked survivor? -5000BP + camping the hook for 30 seconds, also -5000BP.

    Problem solved

If that seems fair to you, you should die on first hook. Fair for killer for outplaying you. Seems stupid, doesn't it?

Guy, this is a videogame, not a platform for people that need to feel strong in a videogame because they can't in their real lifes. Everyone deserve to have fun, not to 4k

Its a PVP game. You're facing people, not bots. Handicapping one side is unfun and unfair to the other.

But thats why it would be a random one just generally normally regressing. Luck on your side? Pop still totally effective, almost better now. Same for surge and overcharge. It would be like you said, not necessarily rewarding or hindering to either side provided that you play well

Yet it hinders a killer's perk set. That's the issue.

  • @LunarMess said:

A lot of what seems to make the game stale for survivors, is just the utter lack of anything new to do in the game, and with MMR, i am absolutely scared for what might happen to any type of game in DbD at high skill levels. As the Devs have said they dont wish to add new objectives to the game.

I think its really time to add something new to the base that is already there. Sound and skillchecks are bread n butter for generators, but the constant same in and out of every game makes survivor very dull if you arent getting chased.

A few ideas for generator skill checks could be a way to also solve the issue of quick gens.

    https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/p-iW1g9fpdzaMQDkGx8RWDYdYNJAQFpSrg3Dc18VEcPlkRcuHU7W1xyOiADFhlaoiIjndzNehJkJfujZFrL74GTiQTCcFZhzn0IJqzxBOcgDSEykVJBWlXQXffFystXqDxa8MHrD

A sound like the deathslingers chain is the sound cue, and gives an idea of how fast this skill checks might be.

    https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/0WEndIf2fRNSh5yCWvcA0cGgiedRNAALvpCMFrb4jNCa7OS5TkuBL9_jzBdYLy4IF0GDtcuIRRFH2iS3dseaGRYcKh5rOHc9vylMRqeRU4S20KPeJKF1O-8_cxt2RmiIZ7HV_NHT

Each 25% A generator is progressed, a partial mini-game ((micro game if you will)) triggers, 1 of 3 ACTUAL skill checks.

    1. Wires. you need to connect a wire with another, while hitting ( 25% / 15% / 7% / 5% ) Skill checks, each succesfull skillcheck during this phase will reward you with 250 BP, and make the gen work 2 / 1 / 0 / 0 % faster for a short period of time.
    2. Hot Parts. Skill check great zones are your only way out. Hitting regular skill checks during this time will burn you, 4 / 3 / 2 / 1 Burn(s) will decrease repair speed by 10% and force you to scream and get off the gen if burned another time. The gen will overheat, forcing survivors to move to a new gen.
    3. On the Fly Repair. The generator no longer progresses for 3/7/12/15 seconds, during this time, skill checks will appear at a constant rate (one after another) each great increases repair speed for 5 / 3 / 1 / 0 seconds after this time has finished, each good decreases repair speed for "x" seconds after the 5 / 3 / 1 / 0 seconds (# of skillchecks). Each failed skillcheck will prolong the stopped progression time by 0 / 1 / 1 / 3 second(s).

Once you finish a generator, receive the "Splintered Fingers" Status affect, and release grunts of pain at a 85 % reduced rate. (when healthy, 0% reduced when injured)

    • Splintered Fingers

All actions involving a characters Hands pause this affect ( Healing, vaulting, throwing pallet, Generators, Totems )

Make chases Action Speed reduced by 12.5%; Great Skill Checks No longer Appear.

    Lasts for 15 Seconds.

"Hard Work Never Pays Off Here"

The change will shift how survivors think about doing generators, and hopefully prevent survivors from working on multiple gens, then suddenly hoping onto another to try and finish it. The 12.5% Also would slow down 10 seconds of time from the 80 second gen time, and healing will only gain a measly 2 seconds of heal time, but this will keep the effect persisting.

[Edit Clarification : This isnt supposed to be focused on the bit about slowing or anything, but mainly how bland the system has become,i just had wanted to add more to make it seem more flushed out]

I believe they're adding a new mechanic for survivors in the next major patch.

  • @rogueplayer00 said:

Maybe make it so that whenever you hook a survivor and exit a 35 meter radius a random generator begins regressing automatically? Just so that its one less gen to kick, and allows the killer more time to search, and if they try to go back to hook, it takes about the same amount of time as it would for the killer to run and kick a gen so it evens out unless the killer actually stays away and searches?

There are a ton of perks that do that and it would negatively affect Pop and Overcharge. That and wouldn't do much in the long run.

I dunno why it was deleted either. I must've hit something wrong when I was trying to edit words cuz I realized I made a bunch of minor mistakes cuz it's late and I'm on my phone.

I was hoping that this idea with the right tweaks would hit a fair spot by accomplishing:

    1. No face camping and less tunneling (hopefully leading to less complaints and toxicity)

    2. Giving the secondary objective of saving other survivors more weight, which leads to less gen rushing and less dumb farming for BP. People have been clamoring for giving survivors more objectives and survivors have been complaining about how they're not getting enough BP so why not hit both?

    3. Giving the killer a lot more information on where the survivors are so killers can plan ahead more and have less downtime. It's basically a weaker BBQ but it'll give enough information so that a good killer whose paying attention could capitalize on it.

    4. It's something new and interesting but doesn't totally change everything. It'll be nice to shake things up. Both killers and survivors will have to adapt.

Of course the idea is definitely not perfect and it could easily be way too survivor or killer sided depending on how it's implemented. And it probably wouldn't make those that go out of their way to Facecamp or tunnel off hook too happy but I always thought that the majority of people did it out of necessity not cuz they want to.

I do believe they're adding a secondary objective in the next chapter called, "Glyphs" but don't hold me to that. Some do face camp out of anger or a show of dominance rather than a need. I do it if I feel like I lost no matter what. Altruistic survivors most of the time clamor together resulting in multiple hits and hooks for me, turning a terrible gen rush into a decent and fulfilled match with 2-3 hook kills for me. Tunneling is one of the best methods to reduce stress on yourself as killer and makes it easier to target someone who is already hurt over a healthy survivor.

The new mechanic might add a much needed breath of air for killer side and much more rewarding on the survivor side (BPs). Let's hope so. I would like to actually chase instead of starting a match and feeling like I've already lost after 3 gens pop and no one is dead. It's just logical to get overwhelmed.

  • @DaKnight This is the original OP and my comments. If you have something to relay, do it on this. I thought this thread was taken down but I was wrong. This was why I made the thread, "A Continuation".

DC is a major problem, I had 2 players DC on me the other day. I sent a chat to them saying " If y'all DC match making will be lock for a while "

Both stated " So we have several accounts we just go get back in a game and keep playing till match making is unlocked. And when someone makes us mad we just do it again and again. And to be frank with you we just don't care".

So It does not fix the problem if they can go to a different account and DC again. It is like a ever lasting circle of BS..... And I know the players I have talked with have just about had enough of the BS with the things that go on in DBD.....

Dead By Daylight is supposed to fun not stressful.....

Sooo what is DBD next move in controlling the DC.

Anybody have anything they want to ADD.....

Sounds like console. It happens. They still have to log into multiple accounts and sooner or later, they will run out. Otherwise, just finish your match and move on. Only you can control what you do.

  • These remarks are actually really well done lol. They had me laughing lol.

  • @MandyTalk Could you delete this thread that I created please? I thought a previous thread was deleted but it was just an error and I have no way to delete this one. Please and thank you!

  • The previous thread was not deleted so I'm gonna copy and paste it to the previous thread.

  • @Terro I don't know why your reply was deleted but I think a better way to remove or diminish camping and tunneling would be to actually supply a way to reduce the pressure and stress on the killer. A reward for leaving the hook. Not a direct benefit to killer or a negative to survivor but a middle ground that is fair for both.

I think we'd see a lot more positivity and keep the nature of the pvp game play without changing everything. Feel free to contribute.

That would be fine but the games where I get tunneled the other three survivors are doing this.

That's the main issue I have. I get teammates who are UE around the map and doing no gens but when I'm killer, I get teams who do nothing but gens. It's the nature of the beast.

Took a break from the game for a few months, started playing again recently. What in the world happened to matchmaking while I was gone? It's not too hard to find a match during the day, but both last night and tonight I just can't find survivor matches. Been playing since 9:20 PM, it is now 10:13 PM, and in that time I've only gotten to play one match. First match had like a 15 minute wait, now I've been searching for nearly a half an hour with no matches. On PS4 by the way.

PS4 killers are at a disadvantage and SWFs are more likely on console.

Yes they're legit strategies. Your ideas of how games should be designed is really one dimensional. Balance is important but so is QOL, feel of the game, direction the game is headed in and general health of the game. Just because something is a legitimate strategy does not mean it's, balanced, healthy, or fits in that PvP game.

Okay so now explain to me how this doesn't help balance the game. If I said face camping and tunneling is too strong against bad survivors but too weak against good survivors and impossible to balance then perhaps it would be easier to remove it. That way we can shift power around else where. If done correctly we may even solve gen rushing with my solution since it could force the survivors off gens and helps the killer locate approximately where the survivors have been.

It's a PVP game. A killer shouldn't have to do this and this and that to make another side happy before they can kill them. If you want to fix gen rush and problems with people trying to remove someone quickly (tunneling) then make it so after each hook and the killer leaves, all gens are blocked from survivors for 25 seconds. It gives a killer a chance to find and down another survivor and allows the hooked survivor a safe unhook without the pressure of being removed from the game so early.

Relieves a lot of pressure on the killer so he/she doesn't feel rushed and it evens out the flow of the game. Trying to remove something that is efficient in a pvp game is not something someone will agree to normally. If COD made it so you couldn't camp a corner for that last 2-3 kill nuke, it just wouldn't be COD. They use an MMR system also. Removing a play style or forcing someone to play how another wants isn't a pvp anymore because one side is being forced to play a certain way.

  • With the revert of the overheat, he seems to be the same as before without the quick rev. Glad they changed their minds. I do love the rawr lol.

  • @FilledPizza said:

I had to disconnect from a game because of this bug, what happens is that sometimes when you hook a survivor, your power just gets completely disabled (I couldn't channel abyss, use my portals, search lockers, break pallets, etc.), I was also moving at carrying speed so it was basically impossible to hit anyone. Meg's hook timer also did not go down. The only way to end the game was by disconnecting. I've gotten this bug a lot of times before and it's ruining a lot of my games, are the devs aware/working on a fix? I'm on the Switch version of the game and was playing Demogorgon.

Might be bad joycons. I too have a Switch and I'm getting drift so far a little. Try posting it in the bugs section.

  • I've only seen it happen a few times but I've been given the hatch many times over for good looping skills. I've been killed by the EGT more than hatch killed due to being picked up, taken far back then dropped so I get killed by the Entity. I just move on after saying gg. Sometimes they get mad and start to cuss me out for not saying something mean and other times, I've gotten apologies for their behavior. It's just random. I never take anything to heart. I don't know how their match was before the current one.

They might be blowing off steam. Whatever the reason, it's just a game. Losing my temper over it is a lot less interesting than seeing what they say when I say gg.

  • Camping and tunneling are legit strategies. It's a PVP game. Handicapping a player and forcing them to do something for the benefit of another player/players without the intention of balancing but to make their play style easier is not and should not ever be the standard. It's their job to kill by any means. Just like someone telling you to stop doing gens because the killer just hooked someone and they left. People would lose their minds. Stop trying to force your wants on another players' choice.

  • I rather go against killers who are equal with me and not have teammates who just UE all game while doing nothing. Same goes for survivors who I go against who aren't the ones who run in a straight line against Billy. I'm a bit competitive. I try not to get too upset but sometimes, I do get upset with RNG Layout. I would still feel better going against a good team rather than a 1 minute, 4k slugfest because everyone swarmed the hook.

I'm not the majority but I have been in games where my anger has extended, not from my mistakes or skill but from my teammates either doing nothing or just bad triple window RNG.

  • DC penalties should stay. I rather a hook suicide than a DC instantly. You chose to play a PVP game. Don't get upset and leave just because you're not curb-stomping the killer. Wait until MMR is fully implemented and you get people who are your skill level. I wager that more will DC and complain.

The only problem is if you like a head (or weapon) for example, you realistically should be able to mix and match it without clipping issues. I love Jane's Greek outfit. However, I'd love to use the head on other combinations. But the fact that it's locked when in reality it would cause almost no problems if it wasn't, is in itself a problem.

I allow the devs to have their own freedom of how they want to do their product. I do sometimes wish I could swap my Bunny Legions' weapon but if I couldn't have my Bunny Legion, I would be upset. I'm fine with linked as long as they look great. I match to make outfits look good, not to be unique most of the time so my opinion on the matter might differ from others but I respect the decision on how BHVR chooses to do their cosmetics.

  • Hag: Love Shack

    Everyone else: Sex Dungeon

  • It will feel nice to have games where people don't run in a straight line against Billy and actually do gens so I'm all for it.

  • Disconnecting in a match is still screwing over your team so that they can unfairly have no real chance at winning. If you DC, you deserve to relax off the game for a bit.

  • I get a bit salty sometimes but mainly due to RNG placement in maps. I rarely think about other stuff. I came from PS4 and its much better than when it initially started and has come a long way. I don't get upset enough to quit but I do switch sides if I take enough beatings. When it comes to balance, there has to be push and shove, whether everyone likes it or not. Neither side will ever be fully happy but it comes with this game. The best I can say is, take a break. Console isn't the greatest experience but most pc games that go to console aren't due to optimization problems.

  • If the outfit looks great, I don't mind if its linked. That Minotaur outfit is fantastic. If I played Oni, I would have bought it. I'm hoping for a good skin that is unique for either survivor or killer that I like playing as. Preferably Billy, Claudette or Hag.

"little skill" ? Have you even played new Bubba (against decent loopers) on a difficult map? They still (nearly) nullify his power by chaining windows (which makes Bamboozle useless as well).

Also timing the charges while chainsawing around loops, corners, through doors and other narrow ways , around and through jungle gyms while avoiding all the tiny, dark edges of weirdly shaped objects requires more mechanical skill than most other killers in the game imo.

There's a reason most Bubbas are failing horribly from what I see and experience. Personally I've beaten all of the new Bubbas as a solo player thus far.

All of them either use up their stacks too quickly or miss the timing window allowing me to loop them around long pallets just like old Bubba OR they bump into something allowing me to get away for free.

Meanwhile all survivors do is hold M1 on a gen granting them their "very skillful" win and in a chase all you do as a survivor is dropping pallets and vaulting windows. Both mechanics are far from skillful and that's coming from someone who posted multiple 5 gen chases on rank 1.

I was going to reply to OP but you summed up what I was going to say about Bamboozle.

  • @chieften333 said:

Anyone else noticed odd stutters in movement? For killer it'll just stop me like I bumped into something, and for survivor it just stops me from sprinting for about half a second.

I've experienced it as Billy while using my chainsaw sprint. Literally forces me to stop as if I let go of the button. I think its a bug. Just a random stutter stop.

Edit: Left out a word by accident

Dude I was quoting what he said in the vid, he did kind of go through him, even if it wasn't fully phasing through. Most of the time killer hitboxes don't allow you to get that close, because they're so large. It's why looping favors survivors. It might be a bug, if it is I would like to know that it is a bug. Hence my question.

Leatherface is fat but his hitbox is smaller than his stomach would lead you to believe. That's why.

This morning I dropped a pallet right on a teammate as a killer was in hot pursuit of us. (I didn't see she was behind me - I thought it was the killer) and when I looked back I was horrified. She made it over and I fully expected a tongue lashing after the game. In chat I apologized to her for my mess up and she was laughing. Took it so well.

These moments too are what I live for in game. Those epic laughable fails and the victories when you do something and it works.

Do you think if they can get the new matchmaking system to work okay we might have less of a divide and find more people enjoying the game too? MAybe? Perhaps?

I'm glad you posted this thread as it really is bare bones reality truth. I hope it helps some people to see things differently.

I've had matches like that. I've fell in front of a Billy's chainsaw coming out of a building, landing right behind the player so I took a chainsaw to the back. It was pretty epic. Pretty sure Billy lost it lol. People are competitive so it's hard to enjoy a normal game most of the time.

I don't believe that BHVR has ever did something to hurt their own game on purpose. Its a bug for a reason and I refuse to come with a mob mentality. Those guys said its a lot of bugs so they must be right! You can have your own opinion but insulting someone isn't one. nobody is saying that its the cosmetics teams fault for doing their jobs and if there are people out there making that dumb argument then they are wrong. However it is managements fault for putting too much assets into one department causing this imbalance. You're right I don't know the noodle code they are dealing with but that again comes down to poor management.

I do believe it was said that they rather do cosmetics than fix their game. It's always mentioned that if they stopped doing cosmetics then the game would get fixed. That is just not correct. The game would stagnate then die without some type of income. You can't pay people to fix something for free. That is my point.

I get it man I love our devs but they keep ######### up. They are already half assing the game can't even get bug fixes going. It's frustrating and a turn off. If the game had less bugs then people wouldnt be spewing this negativity. Bro it took them like a week to change a number value on a ######### offering. A damn 1% plus and make it give to everybody that's all.

When it comes to fixes, small ones, they still have to wait for consoles to approve unless its an emergency. Everyone wanted to have equal updates and so we have them. I've been annoyed about a few things also but I've mentioned it once and left it be and it was fixed on the Mid chapter so they did listen. It's alright to be angry but you have to wait and give them a chance to do what you ask. Telling them to do what you want in less than a day is not feasible.

I hid in corners and bushes and panicked the second I heard the heartbeat lol

Exactly - neither side will be perfectly happy. It's why we need to show some respect to both. (That's why I say nothing in chat after if my teammates left me to die or a killer Facecamps and I've had zero play time. Not going to disrespect anyone like that. I'll simply move on.)

LMAO OMG yes, I am much more scared of my teammates than the killers usually lol.

I am guilty of unhooking a teammate without BT. If no one is trying to help them, and they are going to die,I am going to risk it. In fairness I try to take the hit instead of them - it sadly does not always work out that way. Teammates have gotten mad a t me for that but better I tried then they simply die. (I have kindred on when I pull those hail mary stunts - so I know no one is coming for them or they are too far away to make it over on time.)

Really the biggest problem I see in the game, in reality, is mismatching. I think once that gets sorted and we are playing with people in our own skill levels it's going to help a lot. Perfect - nope - I think people will have more fun though.

The game is very balanced for what it is. What you mentioned are the reasons why I enjoy this game so much. We see different reactions and plays. We learn from them and get better results. Its a gamble and when it pays off, it's a high like no other. Getting away with an unhook while the killer is looking the other way while face camping then everyone getting out is wonderful. Nothing like it or hooking that 1 survivor and making sure he/she dies after looping you all game is also very rewarding.

they are not strapped for cash this is a fallacy that stops the conversation.

My point was that they're different teams in BVHR. Telling them to stop doing their job to help the bug team that isn't their job will cause a major trainwreck for BHVR. They're artists, not engineers/programmers. Just because I'm great and Blender or 3D Animations doesn't mean I program. Different teams for different things. Everyone complains every day about the same things. They get it. Be patient. You're not coding their game so you don't know what they're dealing with.

No they are fixing stuff slowly the amount of bugs is absurd. Bugs ar eont a priority with BHVR ######### cosmetics are because that's how money is made. Dont you think people would be more inclined to buy stuff if the game worked?

The cosmetic team is completely different from the balance team and the others. If they stop making money, they can't pay their own employees. No employees means no bug fixes. No bug fixes means the game is dead. I've said this before. Give them time.

No fit is thrown but when I'm consistently taking steps and getting hit there's a problem actually my whole friend group go against bad wifi, VPN killers constantly and get bvr neglects to fix it.

You say this almost every day. Give someone a chance to actually do something. They can't flip a switch and it works. Would you rather the game just kick you out and crash every other match because they half-ass it? I shouldn't have phrased it the way I did but all the negativity against the devs is starting to get to me. No matter what they do, they will get trash talked about inept they are. They are still people too.

You also don't need to be a brown noser and just say everything is fine when it's not.

Being a brown noser is different from disagreeing with people. I have stated bugs before but continuously vomiting up the same things over and over again, day in and day out does nothing for us or the devs. They're working on them. Just because I don't constantly scream at people because I disagree doesn't mean I don't have any issues with them. The bugs people are describing, I haven't had yet except for the occasional sound bug when the survivor is on the ground and they make no noise.

I'm not going to agree or yell if I haven't had the same issue. That's ludicrous. If you don't like someone's opinion, that is fine but don't insult someone. I could say a lot about people's attitudes on here but I don't. This is a place of discussion, not ridicule. If I see something that I'm about to reply or make a remark on but it seems to be very hostile, I usually won't bother with a reply.
