Around 2 and a half minutes as Myers on coldwind. Got tier 3 really quickly, and then they all were downed within that single use. I don't usually slug that early but I got 3 procs on infectious and thought "...well if you insist".

his animations are getting fixed soon confirmed by one of the devs
Wait our complaints were heard? Didn't even know they knew about it lmao. That's a good start at least. Suppose I can get used to the dumb roar if the camera and animations get fixed.
-
Yeah like everyone else has said, SB hasn't been complained about in a while. It's not overpowered or anything, neither is dead hard, they're just both pretty annoying to deal with. And the fact that autoaim will stop your lunge on a sprint bursting survivor even though you definitely could've hit them.

They can still change it in chapter 19
They can...but there's not a single chance they will because they have a reason for the survivors in a vertical line (so long usernames aren't cut off). And when BHVR has a reason for something there's no shifting their judgement after that, no matter how small the reason is.
-
It's still very bad, but it's an improvement over the last one. Anything would have been an improvement though so it's not saying much. Survivor portraits need to be horizontal. This takes up so much unnecessary space. And from the looks of it, the killer power/item icons are still not aligned with the perks.

I honestly wouldn't mind it if we got a 2 killers mode with 8 survivors just for the funsies. Like an arcade game mode if that makes sense. I know the queue times do not allow for more game modes to be added, but it would be hilarious lmao.
You could do so much with new game modes for DbD it's not even funny. 2v8, 1v1, flashlight tag, killer gun game (switch to a new killer everytime you hook someone), random perks, turbo mode, sudden death, killer oriented modes like Deathslinger+Huntress shooting range, Blight pinball (smack into as many targets as possible, each successful slam gives you another rush token.)
There's SO MUCH, BHVR are sitting on a ######### goldmine and still have no idea what to do to make this game fun again.

I already have to spend several thousand bloodpoints everytime I want to play Wraith, I don't wanna be doing the same thing with survivor too.

Clunkiest feeling killer in the game? Have you played nurse in the past 2 years?
I used to play Nurse a lot, she feels a lot better to play than Billy, her FOV and animations haven't been made objectively worse unlike Billy. She has a few bugs that get in the way sometimes but at least the actual mechanics and her camera/viewmodel/abilities etc feel fine.

I think the issue with lesser billys is because he got nerfed. Granted the nerf wasn't bad by other standards but it was still a nerf. If a little tiny change is placed upon a killer and someone shouts "Billy is no longer meta" then the mentality will be Billy is weak. I see this happen in several games. Someone gets a slight nerf, they are still effective but many just assume they aren't worth using anymore. Despite not actually trying them out and come to a conclusion themselves.
The main reason I always see as to why people stopped playing Billy (And my reason too) is because he's not fun anymore and is the clunkiest-feeling killer in the game. I'm perfectly fine with the overheat, with add-ons it's nonexistent and addonless it's a minor inconvenience at best, but what I'm not fine with is the terrible camera and animations that have sucked the fun out of the killer entirely. If something doesn't look good I'm not gonna have fun playing that something, just look at how most people reacted to the survivor animation changes. Gameplay-wise, it's fine, but visually it's not nice to look at whatsoever and makes the game less fun and worse-feeling overall.

I dunno he used to be able to feather his Chainsaw so much faster around objects and stuff to hit you. But i've gotten a lot better at running the Killer and stuff since then so it could of just been me
His movement speed while feathering is the same. Unless you mean the actual charge time, which was the one thing that was actually a problem with Billy, and was the only thing along with cooldown that they needed to change.
-
I still play him but very rarely. The animations and lower-than-normal FOV (I swear it's like 80 degrees or something instead of 87 and I really want a dev to come out and confirm this) kills any enjoyment I could potentially have with him.
And idk why people keep saying the overheat doesn't change the way you play Billy, because it absolutely does (at least it does now with the gimped 3.8c/s compared to the 5c/s which was perfect then they nerfed it for some ungodly reason). It doesn't do much, but the thought of overheating is always in the back of your mind when playing him, always glancing at the lower left corner to check what your overheat is at (and then looking at the top left and top center to check gens because lmao who cares if information is scattered all over the screen)

Billy is my fav Killer to play against. So fun in a chase and even when he get's you with his chainsaw it's like "ahh good play"... but tbf i think people did spam his chainsaw too much before the nerf which made him a bit too OP. I couldn't imagine old Billy in this game the current state it's in. He would have a really high kill rating.
If you were against a Billy that was "spamming the chainsaw" he wouldn't have downed you for a long time because he would constantly be losing distance and position advantage over you (unless he was running cooldown, I'll agree with you then because both the cooldown and charge time add-ons were stupid). A bad Billy going for chainsaws all the time was literally better for you than him chasing you and smacking you twice.

I try so hard to play by "the survivor rule book" to avoid toxicity but I agree, some people deserve it.
Holy hell dude just play how you want, because everyone else is playing how they want (eg, the survivors you went against clicking flashlights). Survivors and killers don't give a ######### about your fun, so why suddenly start caring about theirs? I never thought I'd see someone with 5K hours mention the """survivor rule book""" even as a joke.
-
When injured, if you have iron will and she doesn't have stridor you can sort of lose her if you make a wild guess while she's phasing and she messes up. If she has stridor and working headphones there's almost nothing you can do except pray you had enough distance on her when she started phasing.
Her counterplay while in a chase is guessing at nothing. Which...you can't really teach, Spirit's design is just that unintuitive and dumb.
Oh yeah and if spirit is standing still on the other side of a loop, do *not* walk away from the loop. I seriously don't know where this came from. If she's faking the phase she can literally SEE YOU WALKING AWAY FROM THE PALLET, the killer you're playing against is a human being with eyesight and a brain, they're not an AI. They'll see you walking away from a pallet and then start phasing up to you and hit you for free. Or if not they can take 2 seconds to break the pallet and now you're stuck in the open and that's a free hit.
-
Alert is probably the most underrated perk of all time and nobody's mentioned it yet.
You get to know which pallets are gone and where you should be running to.
If you haven't yet seen a killer and they're in a chase, you find out who the killer is
You'll see if they kick gens right after hooking so you know which ones the killer is currently prioritising
If you ever got fooled by faking pallet breaks (I seriously don't know how it works on people but it does), you'll never get baited again.
For a brief moment you see which direction the killer's going after breaking a pallet if you're behind a wall and need to juke them to get out of the area after they break the pallet.
It's ridiculously good.

If I’m not mistaken they did this for long names so they fit in
Of all the things they could be accommodating for they want to make sure long names are not cut off and have this take up even more screen space and give up clarity and functionality? When we have survivor portraits now that tells us which survivor's which and their current status? I really need to stop trying to make sense of BHVR, my brain can't take it anymore.
-
Idk why people are so scared of bright haired Neas with flashlights. They are almost always the worst player on the team. I haven't seen a single good pink-haired Nea in my 2 years of playing.
Now P3 Neas on the other hand...the ones with the brown shirt and pants with the P3 head. THOSE are usually the crazy good survivors.
-
@Phasmamain said:
Honestly the new movement looks better but feels about the same to me now. The new hud we’re getting is the old and new combined and I love it personally
It still needs one change:
Survivors. Horizontal. Not vertical.
I don't know how a professional designer or developer could look at the survivors in a list going down like that on the HUD and think "Yes. This looks good, and is a much better design than the previous one."
-
I don't mind all that much, but when you see them every time you play, that often, some of them for over a year now and there's seemingly no chance of it being fixed in the foreseeable future (Billy's animations, Oni's camera flick, Blight's terrible collision, fat shame spots...etc. bugs that came out of nowhere, have been in the game for so long and BHVR either haven't seen our numerous bug reports or simply don't give a #########)...it gets to the point where I legit do not want to play the game anymore.
And hey, I haven't played in over a week only logging on for the codes and daily BPs so it worked - the bugs and recent decisions killed all my motivation to continue playing.
-
You're essentially an M1 killer on indoor maps with any mobility killer. Billy is no exception. You're not gonna get many chainsaws, but you can use it for mobility around the outside of the map. There are *some* things you can do at certain areas with engravings like the office area where basement can be, or those loops near the exits, but apart from that you're not gonna get any kind of curve or chainsaw on a survivor that's paying attention because there's a window or tight corner every 3 seconds. The loops are too short and Billy doesn't move fast enough.

I don’t know how the hell people even played killer with all of these
Because killer had their own BS to combat the survivor BS. Old Billy flick, old instasaw Billy which was literally less than a second charge time, old Nurse, Mori on first down, machine gun build, trap directly under the hook etc. But also people didn't really know how to play the game so nobody cares that much and just experienced the beautiful buggy mess that was old DbD together.

No killer wants to camp, it’s just as boring as doing Gens. The reason for camping (outside of being a new player) is to get survivors off Gens to come rescue, and slow down Gen progression. Plain and simple. Granted there are those that just like camping, but it’s really not fun at all.
Why would survivors get off a gen to try and save someone who's being camped to death by the killer? They should be doing the exact opposite and staying on the gen.

Playing video games is for fun. 99% of Freddy games on solo end up exactly the same. Giving copious BP to Freddy and getting practically nothing in return even if you prolong the game. No thanks. Get out and move on.
Feel free to stay in the game if you want.
Well it's your choice, but it is a ######### thing to do. You should try and come to terms with the fact that, while yes videogames are for fun and entertainment, in almost every game (multiplayer games especially) there will be those 1 or 2 things that are miserable to deal with and suck the fun out of the game. DbD just so happens to have MUCH more than 1 or 2 things. But you should definitely try and stick it out so you and your teammates can have an actual match and not go straight back to a lobby and loading screen simulator all because you don't like that one thing.
I despise playing against Spirit, and I'll never enjoy it, but I don't immediately run to her and hand myself over, there's no point. It's better to just suck it up and get on with the match.

I must be the only person who has fun spamming deathslinger / pyramid head shots.
I’m always going for the massive brain prediction shots behind walls with PH.
Slinger I bet is really nasty since the mangled addon buff. Free sloppy butcher? Yikes.
Going for ambitious shots is the only reason I play these two killers in the first place lmao. Playing them in the "best" way (i.e M2 Simulator 2021) is so boring and it actually made me worse at the killers when I first tried them and did this. Made me feel less confident with their mechanics.

For some reason they don't want hatchets to be able to proc surge, cause they want "consistency".
So yeah, they made a perk that it's not worth using on a bunch of killers just because.
Yeah that's why hatchets don't work with infectious- oh wait they do. Infectious works with literally EVERY KILLER ACTION that sends someone into the dying state (even lockers because yeah that makes sense) but surge, Knockout, gearhead etc require basic attacks because "cOnSiStEnCy"
I'm just sad, man. Weird excuses for decisions like this is holding so many things back in this game from being fun and interesting.
-
Deathslinger's a really simple killer. The better your aim gets, the better you become with the killer. There's really no other advice for Deathslinger other than simply saying 'practice your shots', except maybe backpedal when you're reeling someone to move them away from objects.
Same goes for Pyramid Head tbh. You're gonna get more hits from simply zoning survivors than actually hitting them with the ranged attack because he puts survivors into really tough situations where you're guaranteed hits no matter what they do unless you miss.
And someone else already said it. Both have arguably some of the best chase powers in the game but no mobility, so your map pressure comes from quickly downing survivors in 10 seconds as Deathslinger, or quickly burning through hook states with Pyramid Head's cages.

Yeah your idea is 100x better, instead of a stronger chain a further reach sounds way more fun
I can't count the amount of times I've suggested this change for Slinger...The longer you ADS, the faster and longer the range of the projectile. I've never liked the suggestions of giving him a wind-up to his aim, or a slowdown when stopping ADS, that would make him a bootleg Huntress that doesn't even guarantee a hit. The fast ADS is what makes him unique. Then you'd probably have buff his movement speed while aiming to around 80/85% (Up from 75%) and perhaps his reeling speed should be a lot faster because if he manages to hit shots at a long range, those should almost always be rewarded with a hit unless there's some stuff in the way.
(Oh and remove the downside from Marshal's Badge and Gold Creek Whiskey please and thank you)
-
I really should keep score of these posts completely missing the point.
- Survivor complains that Deathslinger and Pyramid Head lack almost any counterplay in a chase (which is true), so their main point is "they are very boring to play against"
- killer complains about survivor and calls them entitled, and should adapt their playstyle to be more stealthy
- majority of survivors don't like stealth at all because they would rather play an actual multiplayer game and interact with the killer
...how is this not a valid complaint? Stealth is boring, so by default these killers are boring for almost everyone. Almost nobody is complaining about these killers being OP, they're complaining that they're boring and list valid reasons as to why they are. And then more of these posts come along and continue to confirm the survivor's main point.
-
Hag. No matter what, I will never play that boring, brain-dead abomination of a killer again in my life. She's level 10 because I got Ruin in the shrine and then never levelled her again.
-
Went from 'meh' to 'meh +1'. They slightly buffed the one thing he was good at (chases) and gave him some QoL changes like a faster reload. The extra bottle isn't a game changer or anything, it just made his power better at long loops which he kind of struggled with before. Overall he's still not great but he's not bad anymore, especially now that he doesn't have to rely on reload add-ons to be playable anymore.
-
The fact that BHVR and some people on the forum think an extra 15 degrees of FOV deserves to be 25% of your perk loadout and would be too strong otherwise...
-
Or they were just having fun with flashlights and head on with their friends and weren't this fabled "toxic SWF"? If 4 survivors are running head on I'm almost guaranteeing that they're not playing to win and won't be getting salty when they die. But sure if this makes you feel better.
Also in no other game have I seen so many people flame those that LOST and in such a circle jerk kind of way too. It boggles my mind.

No my character continued to face forward but began running backwards. The more I ran from him the closer to him I got. It was kind of messed up. I guess next time I should run toward him and see if it makes me run away. Maybe it is an add-on.
What you're describing definitely isn't an add-on. The only add-on he has that changes things is one that reverses the gas colours, so yellow is slow and pink is fast. If you get that Clown again try and record it, reversing controls sounds interesting and something that I didn't think was actually possible.
-
@HellDescent said:
Com wheel - yes. Looking for parts to repair a gen in record time - not a good idea. Survivors can just tap a gen, stealth around the map to get the part when game starts. Do it for all the gens without killer seeing them. And now you can get all gens to pop before killer can make the first hook. What it really should be is gens go at normal speed for the first half and then slow down for the second and reveal the part. Picking up a part will let you repair it faster by "x" value.
I'm pretty sure his gen part idea only affects the repair time when you DON'T have a part (2 minutes or whatever number you'd wanna use). If you had the part, the gen would be the standard 80 seconds. I'm not actually sure if this is what he meant, I didn't hear a number for the gen times w/ parts. And if survivors are tapping gens and pre-emptively putting parts into the gens that's a good thing for the killer? They'd have to go the length of the map TWICE, for each gen, just to start working on the gen to get the 80s repair speeds we have now. If they're running they're almost certainly gonna get found, and if they're stealthing that's so much time wasted walking round the outskirts of the map that it becomes a benefit to the killer because that survivor will have done nothing for well over a minute. If the killer doesn't find anyone well the survivors deserve the advantage because they played better than the killer did.
-
Well yeah? The beginning and end of her skill cap is listening for survivors, which is a basic skill that you've been learning to do since you started playing the game. And the reason why it's not hard is because she's actually a good killer. If she wasn't it might be harder but her power's stats are overtuned to hell for what little counterplay she has (which can be deleted with a perk), and any of her add-ons above yellow accentuate that.
And idk what it is with certain people who will go to hell and back to insist that Spirit has a high learning curve. I don't get that at all, you're maining a very easy killer and there's nothing wrong with it, nothing in this game is even mechanically difficult to begin with it was designed that way lmao.
-

I don't think that you need to announce the fact that you are leaving a game, unless you're an influencer or a streamer. Do you do that with every game?
That's not really the point. These posts are an attempt to show the devs that the game is in a terrible state and they need to get their act together and stop ######### around. Unfortunately they fall on deaf ears and these posts don't do anything but the thought is there.
-
Remember that you're playing a videogame for fun, and that the outcomes of the game have no impact whatsoever on your daily life. And if it stops becoming fun, it's time to stop playing that game because that's when the game has become an unhealthy addiction.
-
You were probably running/walking in the radius before you crouched. It's literally impossible to use Victor's shrieks to know when you need to start crouching because if you hear him, he can detect you with killer instinct. The only way to not be caught is by crouching across the entire map or if you know he's in the general are, start crouching really early. Both of these waste so much time, obviously and by the time you've made your way to him they'll have likely switched back anyway.
-
Deathslinger has had this bug for a while. The spear won't hit a survivor and will just bounce off and come back. It's quite rare, I've never had it happen to me but I've seen streamers experience it once or twice.
-
1v1 modes, Blight race tracks with custom maps, 2v8, randomizer, moving gens, actual tournament settings there's so much you could do. And it's why I want this game to go full GMod. Just let the community come up with stuff. 99% of the playerbase have come to accept that this game will never be in a functional state so the least we could do is come up with new things to make it fun and exciting and you could do so much with the existing mechanics.
-
Wait, you're telling me you don't like being slugged on the ground for 3 minutes, and playing against a killer that can both facecamp and pressure another half of the map at the same time? I couldn't think of a more fun and well-designed killer :)
-
@ShamelessPigMain said:
It's a new map, give it a while and then pass judgement.
Even then, it's incredibly presumptuous of you to even question if they play their game. Of course they do. But they are themselves, with their own special insights, not the game's base.
We don't need a "while" anymore to know if a map is unbalanced, we know how the game is played and what's good and bad. The Game already was incredibly survivor sided and they made it even worse.
-
I remember playing against 4 Neas wearing similar outfits once and they all died within 3 minutes. Clone squads aren't always good at the game, the majority of SWF groups that you dodge are probably easier to beat than a group of 4 solo players, I don't see the point to lobby dodging.
-
It wouldn't be hard for them to do at all, and they could do things like the Trapper bag and windstorm changes in literally minutes, but they're so slow at doing everything else like map reworks, bug fixes, and the unnecessary changes like the HUD and animations that they have no time to even think about QoL changes (You know, the kind of changes that would actually make people happy?) We get maybe 1 or 2 QoL improvements a year it's so annoying
-
@Moodyy said:
look at billys animations :(
Yeah Idk when this was made but this is the 2nd video I've seen of a custom DbD mode that had Billy's old animations. Maybe it's an old build of the game, but the fact that they still exist and BHVR could revert them at any time is so infuriating.
-
The answer is in plain sight, no? People rage quit because they're frustrated with the game, and pressing alt-f4 or switching off the console is like a quick feeling of relief for them. They made the decision to shut the game off and walk away to chill out for a bit.
...I'll never understand how video games tilt some people so much, but oh well. I think it's a good thing that they chose to just walk away from the game instead of raging even harder.

Sort of related but the absolute funniest thing in this game is a Deathslinger furiously nodding while dragging a survivor. That will always be ######### hilarious to me. I really wish I saw Deathslingers have more fun like that.

If you feel like it's impossible to dodge his shots, that's because it is impossible unless you're at max range. Hide and don't give him chases. If you're in a chase pre-drop pallets when injured and just take the hit when you're healthy.
