I think hes great for both sides. i dont think he should be able to break pallets with his dash though.he can break it faster than if he was breaking it the normal way then he can quickly dash at you again. other than that and the odd hit round corners i feel abit cheated on, hes a great killer.
the last complaint though could just be me on his screen being closer than on mine. but i like the killer alot.
Are you talking about compound 33? Yeah that add-on is dumb af, idk how they haven't nerfed that yet. And the 2nd point is entirely the server's fault. I really wish they'd fix these servers soon, some hits look so BS on the survivor's end but it's fine on the killer's, it's only amplified with blight because of his forgiving hitbox on his lethal rush.
-
My biggest pet peeve is the fact that the swamp maps are still able to be played on and haven't been disabled to be fixed. Seriously BHVR, Badham got disabled immediately because of a bugged totem spot, the swamp has numerous fat-shaming spots (some survivor-only spots too), is basically unplayable for Blight due to horrendous collision and they're still playable and not a word has been said about it? Like what?!

I run BBQ, enduring, agitation and blood echo/corrupt. Not a great build but it gets the job done. Not a fan of the slowdown kind of Plague, I don't even go for the full puke into broken anymore because of these servers, I usually just chase them normally then infect them when they're on the hook.
-
+15 degrees of optional FOV as a slider in the options menu, an increase in Wraith's movement speed while cloaked up to around 140% and Blight's POV fixed. Those are the only 3 things I want and I can go back to using 4 perks and playing Wraith :(

I don't need to watch anything lol, I play as and against spirit regularly....
Then you would know she doesn't move grass, corn and crows?? She makes noise when going through them, but she doesn't move the grass itself. If she did I wouldn't be complaining about Spirit all the time.
-
You have to aim at the center of the survivor to get a hit on them while vaulting. It's not inconsistent, just consistently bad. Same with Huntress (well, in theory, in a world where her hatchets aren't the size of a continent)
-
Damn, Demo's such an unpopular killer that people don't even know how his power works anymore lmao.
-
You're pretty spot on, and you could probably apply a similar mindset to almost every current big game company too. It's kinda sad that this is how the big franchises and games are run now. I only ever look forward to indie games now, or a very select few companies like Arkane and id

And whats bad about being RNG?
Remember they are Hex perks. Which are supposed to be high risk, high reward perks.
But as it stands now, Undying is just a high risk, low reward perk. As so many other Hex perks.
Undying Ruin rewarded killers for being pro active and applying pressure everywhere. Which i think is a great way, so everyone can enjoy the match. Lazy killers that camped or tunneled didn´t get anything out of that combo.
Are you seriously asking what's bad about more RNG in this game....
I like the hex effect, I'm not against it being a way to prolong a hex totem, but I don't like when the outcome of said effect can range from "normal" to "######### absurd" when you've used up all that time running around the map to cleanse 4 hexes because you didn't roll the dice good enough all the while your team's getting slaughtered.
-

But thats not bad. I really don´t get all the hate for Undying.
It's RNG in a game riddled with so much of it already. Undying was the thing that tipped it over the edge. It's the same as other hexes, but when it worked well, it worked wayyy too well. And it let high mobility killers keep survivors off all their totems as well as their gens because lmao 6 seconds of map-wide aura reading around every totem who needs to run Thrill amirite. It's now consistent. We don't know if it's still gonna be a good perk, personally I think it'll still be a big part of the meta and everyone's overreacting, but the good thing is that people will stop relying on the RNG for ruin and undying to be effective.

Do you think Demo will get nerfed? How? I've only ever heard people say he's pretty weak.
Just asking as I was thinking of picking up Demo as I have a few Auric Cells remaining.
I don't think he will, I was just saying that because that would be the requirement for me to stop playing this game sooner. He's absolutely not a weak killer either, he's really good. It's just the general opinion on the forums that certain killers like Demo are low tier even though he has one of the best map mobility tools in the game if you set it up right, and a power that can shut down the strongest tiles in the game. I definitely recommend buying Demo, he's really rewarding and fun to play.

I could go back and forth with you but the fact you think the twins and demo are underrated says it all really.
Sure, I'd rather not waste time trying to get through to more brick walls on this forum anyway so you're saving both of us the hassle.

To answer your question there are only 2 reasons why this game is still worth playing:
Until these two get nerfed I'll have a reason to keep playing.

The only people that would say that are people who go against him that aren't very good. To someone that plays killer or is experienced at survivor he is far from that. He's pretty much in the middle of the killer tier list not weak but certainly not top tier.
The only people who think Blight is mid tier are those who don't know how to play him. Another underrated killer just like Demo and The Twins. He is absolutely a high tier killer.
-
He has counterplay for sure. It's not easy though, a good Blight is very hard to play against but the counterplay is definitely there. If you get to a tile you have to stay there, he'll get a free hit on you if you just run in the open. You have to plan where to go and force him to break pallets. At shack he can usually get a guaranteed hit but honestly that goes for a lot of killers these days. Any open area = death, so if he's rushing, get behind things and make him use up more tokens to reach you.
Blight has counterplay. He doesn't have *much* at a lot of tiles and it mainly involves pre-dropping pallets if you're at a jungle gym, but it's not the same as a good Nurse or Spirit. His add-ons absolutely deserve a nerf though. Alchemist ring and compound 33 are completely overpowered and need nerfs.
-
Sure he would still be good, but that would be such a boring way to change his power and would remove almost all of his identity. His ADS time is fine as long as you change the other mechanics around it. It's what makes him unique and fun to play, I love the insta-ADS of his gun and I wouldn't want that taken away from him. I still think my suggestion is the best:
Give him a TF2 Sniper/Widowmaker mechanic: The longer you aim down the sights, the faster and farther the spear will travel. Could take between 1 and 2 seconds to fully charge and at that point he can shoot at the full 18m at the full 40 m/s speed, but if you just quickscope it would go maybe 4 or 5 metres at 25 m/s. Then you can maybe buff his movement speed whilst aiming a little bit (From 75% to around 80% by default, add-ons to increase movement speed can remain unchanged so you could still get an extra 15% movement speed.)
My suggestion would give him some more strategy at longer ranges, but you could still get fast hits at short ranges and still be rewarded for quickscoping over autohaven or swamp loops if the survivor hugs the loop for example. And you would still have the zoning potential.
Also they could probably get rid of the penalty on the "decrease TR while ADSing" add-ons too. Would make a stealth build with him viable, sniping people off gens with a tiny TR as you approach while aiming down the sights. Could be a really cool build.
-
They're incredibly boring, and rely on a playstyle that nobody likes, not even killers. Plus the fact that BHVR were fine with literally releasing unfinished content and had the ######### balls to charge money for it. Plus plus the other fact that it was probably the most broken and bug-filled patch ever released.
The Twins still don't feel finished. So many oversights to their design that it's completely unacceptable at this point. 4 and a half years of experience making this game and they come up with this abomination? Right after Blight too, it's so baffling that we get a killer design so great then a design so trash one after the other.

The whole reason Wraith is so weak in the first place is because he has no chase potential. Just because he's a stealth killer doesn't mean he shouldn't have some sort of power in a chase. Even with purple windstorm and a bone clapper, he is a mediocre killer.
The better the survivors, the more apparent it is that Wraith is a bad killer. No good to average survivor would ever let you catch them out in the open.
Windstorm alone does not make him a good killer, he will still be decent at best depending on the map.
Sorry but that's just not true, Wraith is good with windstorm. And survivors will get caught in the open...if you can move fast enough to get to them which is why windstorm is so necessary to making him actually playable. You can't just make a beeline to survivors and not try to hide your approach. You have to think about where survivors can run to, and if you can, body-block them or get them to run to a different area. And in short loops you can use his enhanced lunge to easily get around those loops and hit survivors. You're definitely not playing him right if you think Wraith should be played like every other chase killer.
You should give Wraith another try with a build that works with his playstyle. BBQ, Sloppy/MYC, Ruin/Pop and enduring is what I usually run.
-
Well you can play Spirit in such a way that the survivors literally don't have the chance to juke. If you use your power in really short bursts there's not much a survivor can do about that. I think that's where a lot of bad Spirit players go wrong: phasing for too long around loops and mindgaming themselves when all you have to do is phase a little bit then use the speed burst to catch up to a survivor. She's not a hard killer to play. Her learning curve is all about something you've been doing with every other killer since day 1: listening to survivors. That's it. She's not the easiest, that spot would probably go to Wraith, Freddy or Myers but she's definitely down there.
-
@Yords said:
I think the "fearful" effect should be changed. It does make you find survivors faster which is good, but any good survivors would hear your bell and immediately run to a safe spot. It also doesn't help him in a chase.
I also don't think that he should have the bone clapper as base kit. It should be increased to purple rarity and it would probably be overwhelming for newer survivors.
The purple windstorm base kit seems pretty nice and I have said before that it should be a thing. Not too strong, but enough for him to juggle survivors.
The buff he got in the latest PTB was a great start (of course it was sort of bugged on the PTB), but he still needs chase potential.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1896919#Comment_1896919
If we give him something like 5% increased movement speed at all times, survivors could still loop him a little bit and throw pallets down early. This would not solve his problem of not having chase potential and kinda just seems like a band-aid fix, if even.
Like I said in my own Wraith post, I think that the Wraith should put some passive effect on survivors by shaking his bell side to side to sort of curse them with it instead of cloaking. This could be available when he is not cloaked. It has to help him in a chase, and I don't think that it should reduce survivors' movement speed because that would be too simple. I have said it before, but this is pretty challenging to just make up a new effect that would help the Wraith in a chase.
I'm not talking about 5% movement speed, I'm talking windstorm levels of movement speed while cloaked. He should be 140% while cloaked by default, then BHVR can rework the windstorm add-ons into something more interesting.
Wraith doesn't need another ability, windstorm speed literally makes him a good killer. He's not supposed to have good chase potential, none of the stealth killers are. His main strengths are map mobility and a playstyle that spreads pressure and catches survivors in the open, and he can do this really well with windstorm. If you're looking to play Wraith to chase every survivor from healthy to down then you're gonna lose because that's not how you play Wraith.
-
Just look up any survivor vs Spirit video on YouTube or play some survivor yourself. She doesn't move grass when she walks through it.

Yeah I know she has stridor but how do I play against it?
When it comes to things like stridor Spirit, Hag, Deathslinger you're no longer playing against the killer, you're playing against the time and the 5 gens that need to be completed. Against a killer that will win every chase without you being able to do anything you have to rush gens and be more stealthy. Fun, right? But that's how you play against these killers. It's dumb and it's boring but stealth and uber-safe gameplay is an effective strat and it's something that, if done correctly, will put your team in a really good position to win because there isn't much any killer can do about splitting up and working on separate gens, and playing really safe.

Would be a neat counter to the Spirit if she moved grass while phasing.
Which she doesn't.

Well, okay.
I hope they will share at least a part of those values the MMR based on when it becomes online.
Somehow i have a feeling MMR will hurt the variety. I can not explain it, i just feel that you will face with the same killers over and over again with MMR.
If MMR works correctly then yes, high-ranked matches are only going to be the best killers running the best perks, because most killers in this game can't win against a full team of actual good survivors. Like, killers like Myers, Clown, Pig, GhostFace. They literally won't be able to keep up with the gen speeds.

The devs made a mistake while making his POV model and they said it will be readjusted eventually but will take time because it's a lengthy process and they need to redo everything from the ground up.
With the amount of things BHVR actually do for this game, it's unacceptable that major lingering problems like Blight's and Oni's camera aren't a bigger priority. Any other company would've had this ######### fixed in a fortnight. BHVR are taking over 6 MONTHS. Oni's camera has been bugged for literally almost a year now. And it's not a small bug either, it happens literally everytime you demon strike a survivor.

Won't be a big deal since mmr will be on and you'll get paired with r20s if you never played her
There will be an "average" MMR given to all your killers, even if you haven't played them. You won't get matched with babies but you'll get matched with people that are "ok", assuming you're a good killer. If it started your MMR at 0 with every killer and wasn't influenced by your other killers that would be incredibly unfair.
I could be wrong but that's how per-character MMR works in other games like Tekken (knowing BHVR it could be all over the place)
-
I don't see why the undying nerf would promote camping? You never needed to camp before this perk came out so I don't know how it'll be any different unless those killers became reliant on the combo. Pop and corrupt will probably become the standard again, and you need to FIND gens to actually use pop, so constantly moving away from the hook. And a lot of people are probably gonna try devour+Undying, which also encourages and rewards you for not camping the hook.

You're claiming that almost no SWF group will be making call outs to inform their teammates where the Killer is? Well that is a 100% false assertion.
I'm claiming that the communication almost all SWF groups do isn't the reason why you're losing to them, and you would've lost anyway.
-
Sounds like someone just had a bad match. And I suppose it's mandatory at this point to rush to the forums to say "survivor bad" everytime that happens. You probably would've lost the match even if they weren't communicating to each other. And unless they were streaming how do you know they're all on Comms? Almost no SWF group is sweating their balls off telling all their friends what kind of sounds your footsteps are making or how many pixels you are away from their current position.
-
If I'm running inner strength I'd do it, but cleansing totems for noed is not worth it at all. All NOED does is grant a bad killer the ability to secure 1 kill at the end of the game. They get a cheap instadown at the end of the match, hook the survivor then proxy camp them until they're dead which gives all other survivors more than enough time to open an exit and leave. And it is more than likely that all 4 survivors are alive, because the killer was only playing with 3 perks and was relying on NOED to do something at the end of the game.
If NOED does proc I'll do a quick scan of the usual totem spots. If I find it then I'll cleanse it and we can save the guy on hook. If I don't then oh well.

"They're power is they're fast" killers. They lack play style variety like pig, oni, and the twins.
Oni's power literally is "go fast and slam people" though? And I'd argue killers like Blight and Billy have WAY more variety and different styles of play than Pig and The Twins. Eg with Billy you have lopro chains, double engravings, double turn speed, or just plain old Billy, all of these require you to play pretty differently, or rather they let you play differently. Blight has speed, turning, and tech with his flick that adds a layer of mechanical depth to the killer, something which every other killer lacks. Can't think of anything that The Twins have other than "slug and camp lol", and Pig is just "play killer but this time with a slowdown ability that's reliant on RNG"

I get where you're coming from but that's someone's choice to play like that against hag, I've found I'm more successful when I play very aggressively against hag. Plus that's more fun, she's a 110% killer so pulling her into a chase where she doesn't have time to reset the nest of traps I just set off means I can take her attention and aid my team mates who at least one of them are doing gens.
It's a choice to play a certain way against a killer, it's also a choice what kind of challenge you want it to be!
The thing is, a good Hag won't commit to that chase because she know she'll lose if she does, so playing aggressively doesn't really work. And if you set off a trap you should be dead unless the Hag makes a big mistake. It can be fun in a SWF sure. Running into the basement and dying going for dumb altruistic plays can be pretty funny (it's even better against Trapper) but if I don't want to basically throw the match, there really isn't any benefit to running into traps and going down in 15 seconds.

So playing the exact same way against every killer is fun and engaging? Ok.
Seems more likely people are lazy and don't want to learn...
Idk about you but I don't play the "exact same way" against Huntress, Demo, Billy, Leatherface, Blight or Oni. You have to take each of these killers differently in a chase and have to learn what they do to counter them. And these are killers that are generally liked a lot by the community. AND they're good.
Survivors aren't lazy, it's boring to play against a Hag because not only is there none of the excitement you get like you do with the killers I mentioned, there is literally nothing to learn about her either. Do gens and then pray you don't step in a trap if she comes near you to chase you off a gen. If you do you're getting downed and camped hardcore until death hook. There's nothing fun or engaging about playing against Hag, the best way to play her is to literally NOT engage with survivors.
-
@Chchchcheryl said:
because some people don't like a challenge
I like a challenge that's fun and engages me in different ways, like going up against a good Blight or Huntress. Very hard to play against but also very rewarding. I don't like a challenge that literally involves me not doing the one thing that's actually fun to do in this game as a survivor, and instead wants me to AFK on gens and crouch around the map. There is a very noticeable difference between a good challenge and a bad one.
-
@XombieRocker said:
Cuz she can't be looped around each pallet 3 times. That's about it.
Survivors like to play ONE way, and if they can't, the killer is "unfun", "boring", or "OMG OP".
As for placing traps under a hook, I wouldn't be surprised if that gets changed so it can't be RIGHT under the hook, but that won't really matter. I like to put them on the access ways to the hook instead, anyway. Forces survivors to either crouch longer, or trigger it earlier. In order to completely eliminate her ability to trap a hook you'd have to make it so she couldn't place a trap in such a wide area it would almost remove her power from large chunks of the map.
'Survivors like to play ONE way, and if they can't, the killer is "unfun", "boring"'
Have you, or anyone else who thinks this, EVER considered the fact that the survivors are perfectly justified in calling the killer boring because the one way in which the majority of players have fun and interact with the game is not viable at all against these killers?
"Survivors can't loop da killur so they think da killur boring!!!!111" like no ######### they think they're boring, almost nobody wants to play hide and seek and hold M1 on gens all day.

Nope the devs never said it was designed as a anti tunnel perk and even peantis said so
When DS originally came out, sure, but the perk after its rework was absolutely designed to be anti-tunnel. They even mentioned that in the patch notes for the DS rework.
-
This would get pretty boring. The only survivors you'll see would be Laurie, Meg, David and Bill. Do you really want Object, DS, dead hard and unbreakable to have even stronger effects?
-
Oni's quite a bit stronger imo. The one thing that made Billy stronger than Oni were his add-ons, and since he doesn't have those anymore Oni's power is definitely much better. The "but you're just an M1 killer at the start of the game" argument isn't even relevant when 95% of survivors don't loop well and if you're good at killer anyway you're gonna get hits relatively early on, especially if you have monitor.
-
All Wraith needs is extra movement speed. That's literally it, he's way too slow without it and it would instantly take Wraith from garbage to good, because the one thing holding him back is his movement speed. It's so ######### irritating that BHVR still haven't taken the hint.
-
You already seem to know how to play Nurse, so just keep doing it. If you blink very close to the survivor you can bait the dead hard or swing into them after 1 blink to make them use it. If you get close to them with one blink the survivor's gonna dead hard 99% of the time and then it's just a matter of using your 2nd blink to catch them. Unless they have a giant pair of balls and call your bluff, but those survivors are extremely rare and I haven't seen a single one do it. Using the wooden horse add-on basically removes the penalty you get from whiffing attacks and I run it all the time now because I'm sick of that dumb perk. It's a brown add-on and Nurse isn't add-on dependent at all so it's not like you're giving up a slot that you need, you can run it indefinitely.
-
Sounds like you already know the answer to your question and you just came on here to flame some survivors who got salty at the game.
You didn't do anything wrong, you know you didn't do anything wrong, don't give players like this any of your time and flood the forums with the same "survivor got mad because they lost" story, it's really not worth it.
-
It's not "fair", but it's such a small advantage that I really couldn't give less of a ######### if someone uses it or not. A survivor or killer having a slightly higher FOV because of stretched res is never gonna be the reason you lose a match.

I'm not gonna like playing against a Spirit Freddy etc. one way or the other, doesn't matter if they're perkless or packed to the brim with meta perks, their chase mechanics are still atrociously boring.

The funny thing is they got it kind of right when his rework first came out. 5 c/s on his overheat cooldown was completely fine, then they went and nerfed it back down to the original 3.8 for literally no ######### reason. i have had multiple games where the survivor just sat there as i walked up to them and just happily completed the gen while i attempt to grab them. It isn't a one off occurrence.
Dedicated servers might be the cause, but like sitting under the hook while slugged, it is being abused willingly.
That's still not the fault of the survivor. They committed to a gen, you went up to grab them, you got screwed by the garbage servers and they managed to complete the gen. That's not the survivor intentionally exploiting the game. It's like if I said that Huntress players are exploiting dedicated servers and her awful hitboxes. They're not, they're just playing the game, it's not their fault there's a specific issue that benefits the Huntress and is bad for the survivors.
-
"Survivors have figured out how to exploit the lag from grabs"
Lmao what? Are you people seriously now blaming survivors for dedicated servers? I have no words.
