You lose ALL of your pressure when they hop into a locker. Yeah they can't do anything but you can't down them and thus you have no pressure on survivors. You HAVE to leave them and if you are unlucky and can't find another survivor fast enough the survivors gets lot of gen progress... It's a lose - lose for killers. If you leave the survivor in the locker they can just go out and then do a gen as well..

This is literally the only thing that DS will prevent now. Nobody likes getting tunnelled and slugged straight off the hook, locker DS is the one way to avoid it, and you should've gone for someone else.

just remove her ability to hear survivor ehen phasing this way stridor spirit would be nerfed and if shebwant to standstill survivor could still walk to counter his mind game

Nah, I don't like that idea. That would then make it a boring guessing game on both sides. It'd be more fun to give survivors similar levels of information that the spirit has eg: Spirit moving grass if she phase walks through it.

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

The Hillbilly changes were absolutely necessary. Unlimited freedom of use of his chainsaw over and over and over again was just unbearable to deal with.

It wouldn’t matter if he missed. He could just keep coming and coming. It wasn’t balanced in the slightest.

Imagine if Spirit, Blight, Oni, Nurse just freely kept immediately using their power after just coming out it?

If Billy players did what you're describing (spamming the chainsaw) they were bad and wouldn't even come close to downing you with it. The limit isn't even a big deal in a chase unless you have double engravings, so I don't know why you think he's suddenly not "unbearable" now, he's still the same in a chase.

  • Survivor movement feels worse and killer hit detection looks god awful too. So making the best decisions based on the distance of the killer, faking pallets etc. (you know, actual skillful plays and the signs of a good survivor?) is virtually impossible because you're getting hit from a continent away from your actual position and it is so awful and lame to deal with.

  • Yep, they've said this after they've pushed changes yet again. It literally proves they still don't take the feedback into account until it's too late and that ######### blows my mind (or better yet they don't even look at the feedback because they said they "hear [us] loud and clear" which suggests they had no idea about our concerns)

  • I'm pretty calm about the changes now tbh. Started playing some functional games, and decided to take a break from DbD and just watch the train wreck until BHVR finally decide to get a grip and listen to their community.

  • @Chchchcheryl said:

A lot of people actually like the new movement, its certainly been polished since PTB

I can't say the same for the UI but they've explained its become this to accommodate for future changes that won't otherwise be possible

Unless they were literally forced to re-code and redesign the UI for future use because they couldn't add to the old code without it breaking, this excuse is complete BS.

And who actually likes the new movement? I've seen maybe 1% of people say they like it. Hell there's even a hashtag spreading on Twitter calling the devs out to revert to the old movement (Which shouldn't even be a hashtag anyway, they said the new animations won't noticeably affect gameplay but it does.)

  • The new animations have done something to the hitboxes idk what. It's like the survivors are more forward now, so their hitboxes are behind them. I have no idea if I'm right but that's what it looks like. I keep seeing people get hit around walls, killers consistently hitting thin air and when I played a few matches i was getting hits that I absolutely should not have gotten. It's a huge mess rn.

I honestly prefer the old one.

but the new one is not that bad once you get used to it (in my opinion)

As survivor it's not bad because half the time you play with your brain switched off doing gens so looking around the screen is fine. As killer...no. Just no. It's terrible.

  • Ive only played 2 matches on Asylum so far and it's overall worse than it was before.

The main building has these really dumb entrances that aren't intuitive at all to enter through. The rubble was raised on one side so you're forced to run up the other side. WHY? There was no reason to make movement and map traversal less smooth than it already is.

Oh and that really out-of-place breakable wall is still in the same spot lmao

  • @Ghouled_Mojo said:

Console here. New UI is terrible. We already knew this though by seeing videos of the PTB. Be back when it gets reverted. ✌️

Please stop forcing unwanted features on us.

Well according to them it was "necessary in order to make the player names readable across all platforms and resolutions as well as make room for new HUD elements like the Hook Count."

I REALLY want to know what platforms or resolutions they're trying to accomodate for because having stuff all over the screen is the exact opposite of what you want for a console experience on a big TV. Jesus Christ BHVR...

  • Well you already said you wouldn't mind maining Blight, and he's the killer with the highest skill cap by far. Definitely recommend mastering him, even though the collision can be awful and his POV is terrible and probably won't be fixed for another year or 2. But if you can get past that he's definitely the most fun killer right now.

  • @Alify said:

New hud looks more fresh and useful.

Don't care about colors, placement and portraits. The only thing I don't like is that in PTB it was impossible to determine when a dying survivor is being healed or unhooked (flashing red bar), but this will most likely be fixed by release. Everyone will get used to it and everything will be the same anyway.

I won't get used to it. Like I literally won't be able to tell who's injured or not from the HUD unless I focus on it for a longer time than usual, which is the exact opposite of what I wanna be doing in this game, when a survivor could be in the distance and me looking to the top left to try and see who's injured or not is the difference between me seeing that survivor or not. Either I stop caring which survivor's which and who's injured or not, or I stop playing because my eyes hurt after just 1 match of playing killer with the new UI.

  • @Klakky said:

Why do so many killers complain about it? It's one of my favourite maps as killer, specially as trapper, can get a 4 gen easily. I love trapper. I should call him, haven't used him in awhile :'(

Trapper is literally one of the only killers who can deal with Haddonfield because you can trap every single one of the stupid as ######### God windows and drops. Hag can do it too. And maybe Nurse can deal with Haddonfield because, well, she's Nurse. But have fun trying to down survivors in those houses if you're a killer that has to chase/can't literally noclip through walls.

This feels like a bait/strawman thread.....op is clearly mad about DS or something. Which...if thats the case, you've been abusing DS....its was obvious it was gonna get changed.....you have no reason to be mad.

They have a valid reason to be mad. If they're unhappy with a change to a perk they liked they have every right to express a negative opinion towards it, even if you think it's a bad one.

I play on my own every day. Dude, it's not that hard.

Never said it was hard, I just said it was a mistake. And it's boring. Very boring.

  • I usually play Clown if I just wanna switch my brain off and throw some bottles, same reason why I very rarely play Legion, and now I won't have to run any add-ons because his reload is now an acceptable speed, therefore I won't have to spend any more BPs on him. I'm all for killers becoming less add-on reliant.

Wish I could say the same about Wraith, I really miss playing him but I'm currently levelling other characters and I don't have any more windstorm add-ons :(

  • The biggest mistake I used to make was playing survivor on my own.

  • I remember getting BBQ at level 1 on Deathslinger, and I got BBQ 3 by the time I got to level 16. Have never had that kind of luck ever again. Had to spend well over 2 million BPs on Pyramid Head and Plague by the time I got BBQ on those killers.

  • What made then toxic? The fact that they were better than you? Or did they do something during the match?

Whatever the case, you just got BHVRed. Matchmaking is nonexistent and almost every aspect of this game has some kind of bug that still hasn't been fixed. We just have to deal with it I'm afraid, at least until BHVR finally wake up.

  • @RiskyKara said:

Is spirit really that easy to pick up?

The one skill you need to learn with her is listening for survivors, and you've been doing that since you first started playing with every killer. That's where her skill cap begins and ends. It's why "use a headset" is literally the best and only advice you can give to anyone wanting to play her.

  • Yeah she really needs a nerf. Can literally crouch and hide her terror radius, it's so OP, it makes me think she's a survivor only survivors should be able to crouch.

  • Don't try and backrev survivors with your vomit, it's rarely ever worth it unless you managed to body-block a survivor. Even with the best add-ons it's unlikely you'll get them infected in one puke. Just chase normally and then puke on them when you hook or down them.

As for builds Idk what the best build for Plague is, I use a really bad build on her (BBQ, Agitation, Enduring, Corrupt). Corrupt is a good perk on her though, infecting the gens that aren't corrupted at the start of a match is usually a good idea. Chase perks in general are nice if you're good at ending chases as an M1 killer and I prefer a more aggressive Plague build than the slowdown type.

  • I don't see many rants on here about X being OP, it's more "X is unfun/annoying to go against" and people constantly twist their words into "Lol they think X is OP lets flame them for having an opinion" when that's not what they mean at all.

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1921506#Comment_1921506

Blocking other perks is just a bonus. What 1 token would block is the OoO users aura mid chase, allowing them to still see where the killer is when it activates mid chase, but the killer can’t see the OoO user (in theory)

Oh yeah I forgot it would (or should) show the aura to the killer every 30 seconds, there is also that. Suppose it wouldn't be that bad

  • ...no way this isn't bait lmao.

If it isn't, the only thing that spine chill is good for is against GhostFace, Myers and Pig.

Survivors are hiding? Learn the common hiding spots and look away from the gen as you approach. That's all you have to do to counter spine chill, and now the perk is almost useless.

And what's so bad about it giving you information for "nothing"? Why does it NEED to have some sort of downside or severely reduced range. The only change it needs if you really really wanted one of the most harmless survivor perks nerfed for whatever reason, is the range is halved if the killer is undetectable.

  • Why has that always prevented you from running the perk? Just use it if you like using object, who cares what anyone thinks about it?

  • You're using up 2 perk slots to block your aura being read from up to 24 meters after 1 survivor's dead and you're in a 3v1... I'm not seeing how this combo is good. Also what would you want to block your aura from? The only perks I could think of being useful for are I'm All Ears (maybe like 5 people in the entire world use this perk) and Nurse's (which is also not a popular perk anymore, and spine chill does a much better job of telling you if the killer's close and is useful all the time)

  • Hey if a survivor's gonna sit next to a totem being literally useless to shout out your location I'm fine with that, far far far better than them currently being able to do it while working on a gen. I won't ever run Undying but I'm sure the people who do use this perk won't care in the slightest.

  • I really couldn't care less at this point because it's not fun to play to win anymore, but as killer, if any survivor escapes via the exit gates it's a loss imo. Even after closing the hatch.

    As survivor...I have no idea.

  • Played it when it was on a free weekend at the beginning of 2019. And Idk, I just learned it by playing and watching streamers. It's very easy to just copy what other people do in this game.

  • If they're running those builds and playing in that way it obviously is fun. Their fun is obviously determined on if they get the W, so that's what they set out to do. And obviously running the meta is how you give yourself the best chance to win in literally any game ever, that's literally why it's called the meta.

  • You're not wrong but I really don't know what they could do to her power to balance her. Mayyyybe if she had the effects of both her ultra rares. Can't blink to areas unless she has line of sight but is 105% speed. Maybe add another effect where it would eat up both her blink charges if she wants to go through a wall. It's hard to balance a power that clashes so badly with every other mechanic in the game.

  • I have not once seen anyone call Deathslinger "OP". I've seen him called "boring" but never overpowered. Seems like you're just intentionally missing the point like everyone else.

But the one opinion that annoys me is "Demo and The Twins are low tier"

  • Her counterplay is making a guess based off of nothing, which only matters when you're healthy. When you're injured you're dead if you don't have iron will. If you do have iron will, you're playing the "guessing at nothing" game all over again. And if she has stridor your iron will doesn't matter. She's not a "broken" or "overpowered" killer by any means, no killer is. She's just a pain to play against and it's not hard to see why people find her boring.

  • @Trashmaster said:

I don't hate the deathslinger, I hate the huntress for having one of the most cancerous abilities in the whole game.

Deathslinger constantly has to spend time and slow himself to reload and/or reel, then add missed shot cooldown, the optional but long stun for chain breaks and pallet breaking.

Meanwhile huntress tosses multiple damaging hatchets with a massive hitbox, bullshit add-ons and basically unlimited range, on top of that hatchets have a very short cooldown, with the slight downside of having to spend a few seconds to reload every now and then.

That's...a take that I've never heard before but hey, the forums never cease to amaze me. Without add-ons Huntress' cooldown for a missed hatchet is 0.5 seconds longer than Slinger's (technically it's the same, it takes 0.5 seconds to actually shoot and the cooldown is 1.5 seconds). I will agree that her hitboxes are bad, but in terms of both killers missing a shot, it's basically the same.

Just wish i had survivor who give me tips post game, and not toxic people. I don't feel at all bad from losing, since yes. I will have to lose some games to start understanding how to better patrol, apply pressure.

I used to give killers tips at the end of the match but they used to get mad at me for it. And tbh, rightfully so. A lot of people will interpret the advice as "you didn't play well, I can play well and I'm going to tell you why you're bad". There are very few people who will take it as actual advice. People on the forums will give advice though and my advice for you would be:

Monitor is a bit of a meme on Doc. It's one of his perks but it doesn't synergise at all with him. You want a bigger TR so your static blast can potentially find more people. Distressing can be good on small/indoor maps like coal tower, Midwich etc. STBFL is a good perk on him though, I know a lot of Doctor players use it. And NOED is... NOED, Idk what to say about that perk. If you feel like NOED is helping you then keep running it but I would recommend something like pop or surge.

I think he's mostly fine, I honestly think all they need to do for Bubba is make it so that when he breaks a pallet with a chainsaw, his animation takes a bit longer. Right now he can break a pallet with a saw and move like immediately after which gets a little nutty.

Bubba breaking pallets that quickly is kind of necessary. The one thing he's good at is forcing pallets and it's his main counter, so he has a short stun time to deal with it. He basically doesn't have a power at main buildings and windows, so increasing his recovery after breaking pallets (in other words, nerfing the one thing he's meant to be good at) would make him terrible. He would have a much harder time catching survivors with his power than he already does.

  • It probably has a lot of life still left in it, purely because this game attracts a lot of new players. So we get waves of new players every now and again to replace the people who quit the game. And the only thing the players like you and me who've stuck around have to look forward to every 3 months is a new killer and 6 new perks, praying to highest heavens that at least 1 of those perks is actually useable. Normally I would also say we get a new map, but they've all been reworks recently, and the new maps we have gotten have all been terrible since Clown's map. And they're not even sticking to that 3 month schedule anymore, and we all absolutely know for sure that we're not gonna get any substantial gameplay or content changes in the foreseeable future so what do we have to look forward to? Because I'm not looking forward to playing the game in its current state for much longer knowing there's nothing major coming to the game in the near future I can tell you that much.

  • I'd say he's pretty balanced against good survivors, the match can go either way against him. I really want some changes to him though.

I REALLY wish cages acted like hooks. Or at the very least make an exception for BBQ and WGLF stacks, and make it so tormented gets removed if you get hooked so the fun and interactive strategy of "torment, hook, down, cage, down, hook" isn't a thing. Other than that I'm fine with his gameplay. It's pretty meh to go against but I'm done caring about that at this point tbh.

The fact I can find people by using my shock and the whole anti loop

You might enjoy Pyramid Head if you like anti-loop and area denial, he's pretty good at both of those things and has a little bit of a learning curve. And he's also really good at burning through hook states because his power is a massive middle finger to DS and Unbreakable which are the two perks that survivors use to try and break a killer's momentum.

  • They already nerfed her lunge. I think the only things that need to be changed on her now are the recharge and range add-ons. Just remove them and we're good. The counterplay Nurse has now is using the small time you have inbetween her blink tokens recharging to actually get somewhere. The 2 recharge add-ons remove that counterplay entirely.

That and the bugs and horrendous servers. Right now it's so broken that if a Nurse blinks on top of you and swings, she will down you before she even appears from her blink, and she'll sometimes make the wrong sounds. For example she'll be charging a blink and make her fatigue sound like she stopped, but it turns out she didn't stop at all and she was still charging the blink. And there's the countless bugs on the killer's end that I don't need to go into, we all know what they are. Really wish BHVR would wake up and fix this garbage already, it's been over a year and it's still just as broken as it was.

  • She's atrociously boring, and has nothing going for her but excelling at proxy-camping and drawing triangles on 1 half of the map and shutting down loops without even trying. Not a fan of that style of gameplay, I prefer actually interacting with the survivors and Hag doesn't do that. Demo is one of my favourite killers and has some setup to him, but once you place the first few portals in the areas that are important, it's then all about the chase and applying pressure that way.

  • The changes to his M2 were...questionable. I have no idea why they changed it in that way. If anything it made his power way more spammy. Before if he whiffed his ranged attack the cooldown was enough to let you leave the loop, now you can almost never get anywhere. And the slowdown after cancelling his power does quite literally nothing but make him feel worse to play as.

  • New tiles would be very welcome, but absolutely not the Yamaoka/Ormond ones. Please no. That long wall gym is so stupid and the other one is so weird I don't think anyone still knows how to run that tile, survivor or killer. The ones on the saloon are decent, but could be made better without the breakable walls.

  • I question why a lot of things are still in the game. Shrouds, map offerings, hatch offerings, the crappy bloodpoint offerings, 90% of all add-ons, the bloodweb in its current state, basement in its current state, Oni's camera bug, mashing while on hook...the list goes on.

  • image.png image.png image.png

These 3 perks completely shut down slugging. Still don't know why people aren't running WGLF. If more people ran this perk slugging wouldn't ever be a viable strategy.

1 … 16 17 18 19 20 … 63
