  • Posted this in a similar thread, here we go...

If we're talking a killer vs killer free for all, it would depend a lot on terrain. If it was Hillbilly vs Trapper, I think Billy would win in an open arena, being able to utilize his speed, but in something like a realm in game Trapper would be able to use his traps to limit that. Ultimately, I don't have one killer I think would win hands down, but I'll run through the strengths and weaknesses of everyone.

The Trapper would, as I said above, be most effective in a proper "map", but even in open terrain he wouldn't be a pushover. One of his perks is Brutal Strength, which would be helpful, and his cleaver would give him decent reach. Also, he's one of the more intelligent killers, being raised normally and not going insane.

I love The Wraith, but he wouldn't be that great in a fight. His power is best for surprise attacks, and he needs add ons to do that effectively (Ghost and pink clapper). None of his perks would be particularly useful, and his weapon isn't very practical. He could easily beat a regular human, but would be overpowered by most other killers. He'd have to outsmart his opponent in a 1 on 1, but in a free for all he could definitely slip away and let everyone else fight it out, then pick off weakened prey.

The Hillbilly is another strong contender. His hammer and chainsaw are both devastating weapons, and the latter gives him excellent speed, especially in open terrain. Given that one of his perks is Enduring, he'd certainly be hard to kill, and the description for Tinkerer would imply that he's smarter than he seems.

The Nurse would have the potential to be an excellent hit and run fighter, if it wasn't for the fact that she gets fatigue immediately after she hits someone, and would be helpless during this time. If she was going to blink and hit, she'd need to kill or disable in one hit, which just isn't feasible on killers like The Demigorgon. What the blink would be useful for is making a quick getaway from a dangerous situation. Also, The Nurse has some form of telekinesis, based on her animations for breaking pallets, damaging generators, and hooking survivors. This is likely very short range, but could still throw off some killers, perhaps being able to telekinetically catch hatchets or bottles. But overall I think she'd be a bad fighter.

The Huntress, on the other hand, would definitely bring some girl power! While she would be a lot more limited if there were no lockers, her hatchets still offer her a unique opportunity to safely deal damage. And if she had add ons to hinder or exhaust her target, she'd be even more of a force to be reckoned with. Her biggest weakness is her mental underdevelopment, so she could easily be outsmarted.

The Hag would sadly be pretty bad. Her perks delay survivors and punish altruism, but in a fight gens and hooks don't matter. Her weapon, being a part of her body, wouldn't be good for blocking attacks. And surprise attacks can only do so much when many killers could probably throw her around like a rag doll. And the final nail in her coffin is that she seems to be crazed by her hunger for flesh, so she probably couldn't do much planning or strategizing.

The Doctor is an interesting one since I think every killer would react differently. Huntress and Hag would definitely be thrown off, while The Trapper would probably adapt pretty quickly and The Demogorgon might not be affected at all. His weapon and physical strength are unremarkable among the killers, so his success would come down to his ability to outsmart his opponent and the power of his shocks. When he shocks a survivor, it just maddens them and stops them from vaulting or dropping pallets. But when he moris someone, he easily kills them with his electricity. It seems that his shocks are stronger at closer ranges, which makes sense given how electricity travels. So The Doctor could be... surprisingly... effective at close range.

The Clown would be a pushover. Once he's out of bottles he's just a fat guy with a knife. He would get killed if he tried to take the time to mix more bottles, so he'd have to capitalize on them and win quickly. But the bottles hinder, not halt, and an intoxicated Myers could absolutely take The Clown.

The Spirit is another killer that people think would be really strong, and I agree, for a number of reasons: first, she has two perks, Spirit Fury and Rancor, that suggest she has a massive amount of potential power. Second, her sword is nothing to mess around with, assuming it doesn't re-shatter. And finally, I'm not sure she could even be killed. Maybe destroying her head and/or heart would do the trick, but given that she's still kicking with her legs severed, I'm doubtful. In light of all this, her power is at best, a triviality, and at worst a liability if damaging her husk would damage her. However, she is completely blinded by rage, so she's likely one you would have to outsmart.

If you need to wait out The Clown, you need to do the opposite for The Plague. Her best chance is to infect and then delay and wait until she can finish off a weakened target. But since she herself is likely weakened by disease, the best option against her is likely brute force before she can build up her advantage.

The Legion is an interesting case. Assuming they don't share a body and are 4 separate people, their best advantage is numbers. Their weakness would be that they're physically frail, just a bunch of kids with knives, really. And they're not seasoned fighters (except maybe Frank) and would be prone to panicking and making mistakes.

Crossing the bridge between original characters and liscenced ones, Ghostface would be trash in a fight. He relies on stealth, surprise, and picking on the weak, but he'd get ripped apart by The Hillbilly or The Trapper, and even Amanda could probably take him.

Now that we're getting into the properly licensed characters, I'll just take a moment to say this is going to be based on the game more than their movies (or TV show), although I will take it into account when I can.

So, Leatherface. He's one you'd definitely need to surprise or trick, otherwise he'll just rev up his saw and thrash around until everything is dead. Fortunately, tricking him wouldn't be too hard, since my understanding is that he ain't the sharpest tool in the shed.

Myers is an odd case, since in his movies he gets stunned by a bullet about as much as he gets stunned by a pallet in game. Like I said, I'm taking game over film, so Myers isn't invincible. He's tough and strong, but so are most other killers. He's one you wouldn't want to delay fighting, since the more he watches you the stronger he gets. Most killers could take on Teir 1 Myers and do well. Very few could do the same against a Teir 3 Myers.

Freddy is the other killer who I feel differs significantly from his source material. And before I go any further, this is based on post-rework Freddy. Anyways, you don't have to be asleep to interact with him, which makes him a lot less threatening. He can't dictate when and where the fight happens. Fire Up might imply he'll get stronger as he starts losing, but even then the numbers don't come close to Brutal Strength until Freddy's half dead. And while he's nigh-omnipotent in dreams in his movies, all he can do in The Fog is make snares and pallets. He would be intimidating, but not a major threat.

The Pig would be in much the same situation as The Legion, but without numbers. Her weapon is very short range, and to get a reverse bear trap on someone they need to already be helpless, so that won't do anything. She could get in one good ambush hit, but after that she's toast.

The Demogorgon seems to be like The Spirit in that their power wouldn't be particularly useful, but they don't need it to be terrifying. I haven't watched Stranger Things (shameful, I know) but I hear he/she/it is bulletproof, and that alone makes The Demogorgon a threat. Combine that with a terrifying lunge and a wicked bite, and The Demogorgon is a force to be reckoned with.

Last but not least, our newest killer, The Oni. He has a significant advantage in that he isn't just strong, he's a warrior and a veteran of many battles and duels. Even when not in Oni form, the katana is a very dangerous weapon and he knows how to use it. Also, he actually has armor, and while it might not stop a cleaver or an axe, it would likely hold up well against The Doctor's stick or The Hag's claws. In Oni form, he could probably only be stopped by The Demogorgon, but there's a catch: he needs blood. For most killers this isn't an issue, the only killers that POSSIBLY don't bleed are Nurse, Hag, and maybe Demogorgon if extra-dimensional blood doesn't feed The Oni. But there's another catch here: I don't think blighted killers have blood. The Spirit's blighted skin shows that in the chops in her limbs, it's orange all the way through. No blood. So The Oni could be at a major disadvantage against a blighted killer, especially considering that the blight gave The Trapper, and presumably others, even more strength.

So there's my battle analysis rant, kudos to you if you read the whole thing

Do you have a favorite perk build that would be considered non-meta, survivor and killer?

The latest build I've played with is Spine Chill, We'll Make It, Urban Evasion, and Kindred. Works well for a stealthier play style and forgetting hooked teammates back into the game quickly, but at the expense of exhaustion perks and other useful ones such as Borrowed Time.

    Me: Endgame Freddy!

Also me: With Ruin going, that might actually be more meta than I think...

Spirit would try the super-high-skill-cap-200-IQ-play-minimum-3k-hours-to-even-pull-it-off 'mindgame' of standing still like a dolt at a loop to try to trick the Nurse. The latter, being completely clueless about what a loop even is, would just proceed to blink and smack her booty. Then, she'd mori the Spirit on the spot, stealing her sighing breath to make a new add-on out of it.

I'd love to see some sort of animal/creature type killer introduced. I'd personally like something reptilian in nature.

    New Killer: The Zucc

Ability: Privacy Settings. The Zucc has two modes. In Lizardman Mode, The Zucc gains the undetectable status. In CEO Mode, The Zucc can see the auras of all survivors, and all survivors can see The Zucc's aura.

I'll definitely give it a read once I'm back from work, from what I've seen from the others, it's probably pretty damn good. If you don't mind, could you specifically give me some feedback/further opinions on what I say about Hillbilly, Doc, Myers, Pig,, and especially, Ghostface, Spirit, Demogorgon and Oni? If you don't mind, of course.

I think Hillbilly could recognize that the other killers are different, I just don't think he'd care. He killed a bunch of cows, which he had probably never seen before. He simply doesn't have a good relationship with living things. But he could definitely learn; Tinker definitely indicates he's smarter than he seems.

I think The Doctor is still off his rocker. He didn't snap like The Nurse, he slowly descended into madness. Maybe he won't see other killers as "diseased" but I doubt it. He seems like an egomaniac who would never accept anyone as an equal. That said, in my fanfic, the new environment of the fog in some ways snaps Carter out of it and awakens his curiosity.

For Myers and Pig, I just made my best guesses. I don't know their lore outside of the game; I haven't watched any Halloween or Saw movies, so I'll take your word about Amanda's jealousy issues. And Myers co-opping really is unprecedented. I doubt he developed the best social skills while locked up, but we really have no idea.

Ghostface is another question mark. His lore was mostly developed through him reminiscing about his crimes, but we don't get a ton about his personality or history aside from that.

An emotionally volatile or constantly fluctuating Spirit is definitely a possibility, and much more interesting than a permanently enraged one. I'll probably be using your version in my fanfic, if you don't mind. I'll be sure to give you credit!

The Demogorgon definitely isn't a mindless animal. Not as intelligent as humans- at least, not intelligent in the same way- but not to be underestimated. Definitely could be "trained".

The Oni definitely would hate all the other human killers except Rin. I disagree about The Demogorgon reaction though- you'll see in Chapter 2.

Alright, time to give my opinion about your opinions. :P

Trapper: I've gotta echo what @rj1567 said, at this point, he's probably a simple beast, not much going on up there.

Wraith: Yeah, I completely agree here, he still retains some morals which I think would lead to some confrontation with someone like Freddy... for obvious reasons.

Hillbilly: I mostly agree but, to be fair, lore states that Max is surprisingly smart. With that said though, your statement still stands pretty strong.

    Nurse: Yup, 100% agree here.

Huntress: Absolutely agree, if she hunted fully kitted out WW1 soldiers for sport then she'd gladly try it for opponents more her level.

Doctor: I honestly believe he's intelligent enough to work with other killers and too know when to use a certain ability at a certain time to avoid collateral damage.

Myers: Probably the biggest wild card, I really have zero idea how he'd take to working with others.

    Hag: Yes, yes she would.

Leatherface: With how terrified he is but also loyal, I agree yet again.

Freddy: I could definitely see him trying to screw with other killers emotionally and psychologically.

Pig: I think she would TRY to keep things professional but with how jealous she was in the films, if another killer began receiving more admiration from the Entity, she'd definitely try and backstab them.

    Clown: Yeah basically

Spirit: I think with how fractured emotionally she is, she could be trying to work with someone one second then immediately turning one them the next.

Legion : Gotta say, I agree with what @aderpymuffin said, they're a bunch of edgy teens that want to cause trouble(except for Susie, kinda) and most likely, they would try but fail.

Plague: That's actually a very interesting idea, I quite like that.

Ghostface: I actually could see Danny going two ways. He'd either be thrilled to share the "moment" with someone or something else, after all, he was known as a swell and likeable guy by day or he'd be pissed because they'd be denying him his "moment".

Demogorgon: Since I'm basically a certified Demo expert, here's how I see it. Demo's can be equated to a highly intelligent animal and, obviously, Demo's can be trained to do specific tasks. So, I kinda disagree/agree, it would take a bit to get it used to working with others but I think it would shape up eventually. In the meantime though, LOTS of ripping and tearing would be happening to achieve that goal.

Oni: This one especially makes sense. Oni would probably view other killers as below him and Rin. He'd also probably try to kill the Demogorgon at every turn because he might view it as a "abomination".

Now, with all this said, the devs could definitely just say, "oh, the Entity is forcing the killers too work together or else they'd get severely tortured" but you definitely bring up some good lore points.

One final completely unrelated note, I'm FINALLY doing something that has taken a lot of courage from me to do... and I'm still not looking forward to it. *wink wink*

Yay!!! You can do it! And thanks for sharing your feedback! There's actually a lot of what you mention in my fanfic, but also a lot of divergence. I'd love to hear what you think if you want to give it a read!

  • @Clockso said:

The plague’s ability is to infect survivors and make them sick, however all it takes to fully cure them is to drink and wash their face from a pool of devotion, so what would happen if the plague tried to drink from it?

Will she get cured? Do you think the entity doesn’t allow her to drink from the fountain? Will the fountain get corrupted if she drinks from it? And if so why can’t she use it for free corrupt purge?

Multiple things I have on my mind:

The Entity truly doesn’t allow her to drink to torture her into doing what it wants

Maybe The Entity deceived her into thinking her disease is a blessing from the gods and she must endure it and accept it.

or maybe if the plague gets 4 kills the entity rewards her by allowing her to drink from the fountain after the trial ends.

what else do you guys think?

I made a thread called "What if Adiris isn't The Plague?" that posits the idea that Adiris and the plague have a symbiotic relationship and mutual dependency. If so, than being cured/purified would probably kill Adiris, or at least The Plague.

  • @TheDiz said:

I play both sides pretty evenly and I'm usually around ranks 4-6 as survivor and rank 10-14 as killer and I almost always bring small game to do totems so I don't have to worry about NOED and it makes the game a challenge to get all totems and gens. I personally think the ruin nerf is almost as bad as the MoM nerf as it essentially killed the perk and doesn't make much sense to me. To completely change a perk that so many people use is absurd and games will likely go really fast now. I guess we'll have to wait and see but I don't think it's a good change personally.

The MoM nerf was needed though. It was widely used because it was OP. Ruin was widely used because it helped fix a fundamental design flaw. Now I don't think MoM should have been nerfed as hard as it was, but the idea was sound.

It's a group for now. With Fibi and @GrootDude the Trusted statuses will give us enough legitimacy to declare you Lord of the Realms, High Priest of The Entity, Hand of Cote, and Supreme Leader of the Democratic Wholesome Republic of the Fog.

  • As survivor: I'm bad at looping anything with line of sight blockers. Also, I'll occasionally miss skill checks. Not because of Lullaby or Unnerving or madness. Just because I'm a booster animal.

As killer: I still get 360ed. And sometimes I swear survivors just disappear after I hit them the first time. Also, I should probably slug more (especially with the Ruin nerf) but I'm never willing to take that risk unless another survivor is right in front of me, I think they have DS, or I have a time limited power (like Blood Fury, Corrupt Purge, or Evil Within 3)

I know. Its just like how I can't expect Killers to assume that I am going to be an easygoing, laidback survivor when all they've had to deal with is teabagging flashlight loopers all day.

Yeah, we humans aren't the most rational creatures. I've been known to play Hag with an ebony because last game a 4 man bullied me as Clown.

Its sad that so many Killer mains are taking it out on Survivors.

I know there isn't much way to take it out on the Devs but there are those of us who are just as upset as you are about these nonsensical changes. 😥

The thing is, a lot of killer mains feel like recently, at least, devs have been only listening to survivors. Nurse got nerfed. Oni got nerfed. Freddy got nerfed. Now Ruin and (arguably) Doctor. They feel like the only way to get attention is by antagonizing survivors.

    Hello,

I have a point what bothers me and that is camping. Killers are having no skill and they are just facecamping. I think this should be punishable🤔 This happens allot and imo it's the same as cheating. Please do something about it. 😊

It's not cheating though. If someone's getting facecamped, that's 2 minutes of gens for the other three. If everyone is doing gens that's at least 3 gens, and that's without toolboxes or Prove Thyself. And devs can't really do anything about it. Killers lose emblem points for "proximity to hooked survivor" but that's it. Plus, if a killer knows someone is nearby, they'd be idiots to leave.

well, solo survs could run Bond if they really struggle in finding other survivors, which is a very useful perk anyway (it's not like running Calm Spirit only to counter Doctor, that's what I mean :P). Also it would also be an indirect buff to Nancy's Better Together.

If even Bond wouldn't be enough because survivors are very far away, that would be ok as well: yes, you suffer a big penalty, but you are still doing an important job that will improve the team position, eventually.

On the plus side, swf now can split up very efficiently, while solos can try to do it, but they have no guarantee that other players will stick to the (silent) plan. In a certain way, the perk would even this disparity out more than increasing it, I think.

You've got a lot of good points. I'm sold! But right now I still doubt the devs will do anything to meaningfully buff killers.

u can do it here i ask everyone to create and evolve my killer maybe we create a cool comunity killer

Cool! So here is The Inferno!

Lore: Johann Liebermann was the son of a shopkeeper in Bremen and preparing to take over the shop when the Great War began. He answered the Kaiser's call to arms and joined the Imperial German Army, where he was assigned to a flamethrower team.

While many were traumatized and hated their experiences in the trenches, Johann thrived. Bathing the enemy in flames made him feel powerful. It was a euphoria he had never known. As the whizzing bullets and rattling machine guns formed a symphony around him, Johann fell in love with fire.

It was so beautiful, so wild, so free! To Johann, fire was the apotheosis of all creation. And yet humans had bottled it, exploited it, ruined it! But Johann understood. Johann understood what needed to be done.

One summer night in 1917, the German trenches were set alight. After the fire was contained, thanks in part to a sudden fog, records indicate that 84 skeletons were found, all charred beyond any possibility for identification. One of those skeletons was assumed to have been Johann Liebermann.

110% movement speed and Terror Radius. M1 weapon is the trench spike, a steel spike that was designed to punch through helmets and skulls, and had a grip similar to brass knuckles.

Power: Auric Flamethrower. After a short channel, The Inferno can fire his flamethrower. Hit survivors instantly lose one health state and suffer from the Auric Flames debuff, which puts survivors in the broken state and reveals the survivors aura to the killer. It is removed when hooked or after performing the Extinguish action (a short channel to stop, drop, and roll).

The flamethrower has (by default) one charge. One use consumes one charge. The flamethrower is refueled at one of four (by default) Supply Depots placed around the map.

Perks: I like the OP's perk ideas; I don't really have any of my own.

    Realm: Flanders

Map: Frontline Sector 8- a twisting maze of muddy trenches, tunnels, and bunkers with a dead zone of No Man's Land on one side (since this is only the German side of the line)

  • @FriendlyGuerl said:

I really hope that Killers will go away from their massive Slowdown aka Ruin/PGTW/Sloppy in one single Build, and go for Chase Perks instead.

But when we bring Enduring/Spirit Fury, that also seems to Give Newer Survivors a Frustrating Experience

HEY that's a borderline chemical weapon there buster! You better watch yourself. >:(

I'm sorry, officer, there must be some mistake. This isn't a weapon, this is just an old, fragile jar of pickled cabbage.

Oh also, just saying, I'm armed with HOT ass gravy in my corner, STAY AWAY!

Chemical weapons are illegal. Good thing a 15 month old mason jar filled with sauerkraut isn't technically a weapon.

And have you calculated how many games it’d take and how much luck is needed? If there’s not even 1 solid/clear slow-down within the base perks this is a problem. You can’t just hope 2 perks that generally need combo’ing will come in the shrine anytime soon. The shrine was more relevant when there was far fewer perks.

That's true, but especially concerning liscenced characters, there's only so much the devs can do. And I think there are much bigger problems rn.

  • This is addressed through Iridescent Shards and the Shrine of Secrets. You can get unliscenced killers and survivors with shards, and the Shrine can give you perks from liscenced characters.

  • Just use No Mither lol

  • Why are we objectifying the ladies? Which guy is the hottest?
