  • new BT sounds like it was designed for old dbd, back when there was no basekit BT when survivors were expected to use the endurance to take hits.

now you DO NOT take hits in modern dbd. this is so backwards. With the BT endurance and Babysitter Elusive, people should be GOING AWAY from the killers!

I use it with autodidact and I actually don’t like the faster healing 😅 because it means less stacks, might just have to put the fries in the bag and stop running autodidact honestly; because free 50% healing on others is just super good on its own.

that's definitely unfortunate because Empathic is the perk to pair with Autodidact it makes way too much sense.

  • perk shakeups are great. I enjoyed the big Attack on Titan update even though it wasn't perfect and some perks I despised (it gave us overbrine) but we got some nifty things like Calm Spirits silent bone tickling. For some baffling reason we gave Calm Spirit a restriction out of fear of a bird meta but we finally did away with that!

And again my feelings are the same as last time....some good some bad. But its progress. I just wish this one had a bit more meat to it rather than mostly bring tier 1 and 2 adjustments

  • I was in a dbd phase with Judgment but 2v8 timers got me playing Halloween for now. I'll be back

  • 2v8 needs to be brought back to its 1v4 roots this version has kinda ran its course imo. throw out balance and just add regular loadouts and all the killers. maybe then people will get labbing. we haven't even TRIED that yet.

  • @httpain said:

Also this new design might encourage people start trying to take hits right after being unhooked which is problematic.

    genuinely makes no sense.

  • killers just wanna bully new players hence the Shoulder nerfs

  • having to work for your kills is unfair.

Aura perks are the new boogyman because content creators starting crying about them.

auras have been a "thing" ever since Nowhere to Hide and the Lethal buffs. It's why killers started to get upset at Distortion because now that auras were a "thing" they felt entitled to it 24/7

  • @Brimp said:

Shoulder deserved this for a while. A 40 second expose that M1's could still barely capitalize on due to pallet density was not it. For the price of the exposed and sharing of one of your hook states you prevented a kill earlier than you would like. In a lot of people's eyes that is a MAJOR upside compared to the downside and it still does that with the nerf to the perk. They just made the punishment harsher and not so "just rip off hook at no sign of a terorr radius and pre-run shift W and you can ignore the downside"

Shoulder exists so friends can introduce new people to the game and not quit because killers will only tunnel new players. doesn't matter if it's at 5 gens.

"i have 5 hooks and no kills! this is so oppressive and unfair!" they say as all those hooks were on one survivor.

  • Shoulder changes should not go through. If you are getting hooks as a killer you're doing fine.

  • survivors are comically overpowered so I appreciate having incentives to sandbag the match. Encouraging inefficiency in the name of fun is good I think.

I had some good fun baiting killers into complete time waster chases. Killers don't really realize you are haste boosted.

It's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things because catchup mechanic exists. Just watch out for generator progress. those are my thoughts as John Invocation himself

The Escapists in 2v8 keep popping their fog vials at match start and summoning the killers so yeah that's a new pet peeve for me.

that's some 1v4 No Mither habit for me...but there's literally no Lethal in 2v8!

  • opinions on auras has changed from when I started with the Twins. Scratched Mirror indeed was the "Wholesome Keanu Chungus 100" killer for years. Now it's boring and uninteractive

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

I mean, removing Auras while she is charging a Blink or Blinking is something that comes up often. And it would certainly help. I also think that they should bring back the Pallet Stun on her, where she went into fatique after a stun. This would actually reward pallet stunning a Nurse, which is hard enough to do. And it would be fair IMO since she can ignore Pallets most of the time anyway, even with that.

However, in the end, she will always be the Killer who does not play DBD. The only way to Nerf her and make her not suck afterwards (you can probably nerf her enough that nobody plays her, but this should not be the goal) would be to rework her Power. To make her Blinks way worse, but let her not rely that heavily on them anymore.

But this would require a lot of effort and especially a lot of courage from the Devs, so it will not happen. We know there would be backlash and we also know that the Dev would then scrap any ideas they might have had to nerf or rework Nurse immediatly, we have seen this often by now.

And well, after all, I am also very sure that the Devs dont want to change Nurse. While it would certainly appreciated if there would be at least a little bit of thought if she is the strongest Killer (everyone doing a Tier List slaps her on S-Tier as the strongest Killer without discussion), Nurse is the perfect excuse for every Pay2Win complaint. Even if we clearly see that new Killers are powercreeping older ones and therefore BHVR is making more money, they can simply say that the strongest Killer in the game is completely free, so there is no P2W going on.

just the pallet stuns and aura removal while holding breath would make her so much better to face. I think it'd be a fair nerf along the lines of removing Ghouls damaging vault that change alone made him so much less toxic to face without actually changing anything

You ask anyone decent at the game they'll tell you autodidact is hot garbage.

Sure you CAN last long without an exhaution, but an exhaustion is nearly GUARANTEED to extend your chase significantly, especially against all these new crazy op killers.

MrTatorHead plays against noob killers so he can farm his video content. He literally farms his content off of either noob killers who are clueluess or the worst m1 killers in the game.

Yeah i'll gladly play clown against you guys with no perk restrictions. Clown is alot stronger than you think i wouldn't be underestimating that killer. When do you wanna do this? Get your best 4man squad we can run it up whenever you want.

It's quicker and safer to heal with a medkit or selfcare than plotwist, so plot twist is only used in combo with DS and DELI, one of which did get hard nerfed this patch.

I've gone against Tator head before I can vouch that he's decent at the game

  • Houndmaster so I can get a little ruff as the Bark Lord

Unknown would be so much fun. I really wanna mess with Henrys and, burn me at the stake here, but Ghoul.

If people wanna commit mass injuries I'd rather people play Ghoul than Wraith; At least Ken's hot and not Undetectable. Sue me.

Would people hate Krasue? I don't think she'd be hated in this mode

I have to admit, I underestimated the Bystander Effect in regards to Xenos lethality but I'm pretty sure Krasue would actually suck. More bodies means more counterplay. Krasue does the same gameplay loop and just walks into the catchup mechanic and would have no tools for in chase heals and theres no Dissolution but rather the opposite pallets keep reappearing. No real breakaway plays.

    Perfect addition I'd say.

But if one of the ones do manage to get hits or blood fury it'll be a constant chain of blood fury and instadowns

I think Oni has diminishing returns here if you take 2 you'll just be playing into Escapist and Scout. you'd be forced to find the casual players and hope to farm them in order to catch the people that know to deny Oni any blood

  • the worst Trapper games are the ones where a scout follows you the entire game. they reveal you all match and contest all your traps.

  • some people just enjoy the power trip

  • unironically Legion wouldn't be an issue if it were 2 Legions you were facing

  • @Xendritch said:

Besides the obvious one being Plague I'll say Hag, her playstyle is way too slow and there are so many gens that setting a web isn't going to be very effective she just doesn't work for a mode this fast paced. Not to mention I can't imagine her being a very effective teammate like "okay I'm gonna setup a web you go keep the 8 other people in this game busy while I do that" just sounds like griefing.

Hag playing Chess would be pure misery on RPD

  • @random1543 said:

Ghoul and not just because he is my most disliked killer in game.

Ghoul its because of his lock on hit that has you stand in place and go into mending because ghoul looked in your direction. that will just lead to unfair double taps all the time with the survivors not looping at all, other killers that can double tap actually have to earn a hit with power to get similar effects (houndmaster, deathslinger)

imo if they remove the latch entirely for 2v8 he'd be a really balanced killer. Like maybe Spirit tier decent. He'd still be fundamentally weaker than Legion but at least the Legionbros could just go play him

  • @Xray said:

The gamemode is just overexposed, its been brought back way too many times and no matter what killer they add and what gameplay addition, it is beyond boring. Give it a years break. Where is the prop hunt game mode? Or even the swapped player perspective with third person killer they teased last year?

if it came back with all killers or all killers+ perks for each side that would be pure chaos and would probably be exciting.(bugs? balance? who cares..)

  • the most obvious tell are survivors who are aware of your perks when only 1 survivor should know about it.

  • @cogsturning said:

I played about 20 2v8 survivor matches and the person next to me was like this in every lobby. Has this happened to everyone or is it just Playstation, because the only people I've seen mention it so far are on PS?

Xbox bro reporting in...I have not seen any survivors do the Justice League meme

  • just like the smoke bombs, survs keep pathing optimally and its just obvious. you don't need eyes to know a survivor likes going to a safe place. I try to be unpredictable and assertive with the elusive and it works out pretty nice. I play loud characters like Lisa and Feng so I quite appreciate it

Because when he used to have this on the ptb there was a consensus that it was far too strong for tunneling and applying pressure. Now we've decided its fine for judgement because 'reasons'?

since then PH has lost his ability to hard tunnel with impunity. PH could just reliably camp a cage with an attack ready and frame perfect snipe the unhook and insta kill

Oh no that's a fair view on it. I personally see it like those 'Alien VS Predator' sort of situations, but you are right it does sound a tad gamey. That said, 2v8 feels gamey to me in the same way, and it's not necessarily a bad thing. It does depend on how it's handled.

And I almost forgot about MLO, but you're also 100% right we need a 1v8 of that.

it's ok everybody forgot! If we made a 5v5 I feel that'd be the time to explore the option of respawning and have people be killed each time they get hooked or something.

  • I personally don't want a killer being on my "team". I'd try the mode for sure but that's a mode that would feel "gamey" or like a sport.

I've been craving MLO though so now that 2v8 is a thing I'd love to see MLO get turned into 1v8. not that I'm trying to hijack the topic.

    I'll try anything once though

  • idk if adding curves to default was a good idea it was good incentive to not miss and maintain Zealous. but idk anything

  • my sausage fingers keep ruining wvrr6thing I don't wanna be extra careful

    edit: hi

  • I've been seeing a few yeah. Like I've seen an equal amounts of Trapper to Judgement and more Pigs than Judgment. I saw a Freddy trying Celestial Witness.

When I havent been playing Judgment I've been trying out Celestial Witness+ Save The Best For Last combo myself. It's just the combo my m1 Krasue needed.

  • for killer, Finesse. I hate the Finesse+Lithe pair more than I did SB+ Vigil. Finesse encourages not engaging with the killer, and pairing it with Lithe can stall ramp up killers like Oni or Nemesis for potentially the entire match if the entire team is running it. Which I have seen consistently for years.

As survivor I can't stand DMS, Deadlock, Lethal Pursuer and Pain Resonance. I'm just gonna go against the grain and say I've never minded Noed I love end game shenanigans

  • PH kinda lost his relevance once he couldn't tunnel with impunity. he used to consistently snipe death hook survivors off cages and instantly kill them.

  • I'm enjoying it overall but I have to say I'm pretty disappointed in the lack of people playing her. Like, why have I seen more Pigs? Who the heck is playing Pig?

  • I suppose they are just testing the anti cheat for BHVR how thoughtful of them

  • only reason Boons fell by the wayside was because they got nerfed by the map changes; us indoor enjoyers abused the likes of RPD, Lerys, Hawkins etc

  • sure, i guess. I just want the shark more than anything

The ghoul and blight's dashes mean you have to interact with the killer, in this case use obstacles to dodge their dashes and dodge an attack to the side when playing against blight occasionally. A few dashes is still more interaction than one sunbeam from the sky as they still have to physically walk towards you, as opposed to pressing one button from a range and not risking anything.

See how your logic can be used against you?

I don't see a difference between a blight beam or a judgment beam. Blight occupies 1 survivor at a time entirely whereas Judgment occupies none but harasses everyone. I get that people enjoy the idea of attempting 5 gen chases but that's really boring for the people not in chase. I want some of the action too!

The risk is the same if neither Blight nor Judgment are translating power usage into downs they lose time and the game. Each Judgment miss is almost 10 seconds of repair. If the Judgment is playing risk averse by sitting in one area then they lack meaningful pressure.

  • this community can't handle prestige being shown in the pre game lobby I guess we can't handle a post count.

  • doc is OP and needs nerfs...shocking

Maybe a killer that controls Time would be awesome. The ability to give survivors hindered and give yourself haste seems like it would be fun. The design is slightly similar to The Clown so maybe something added to it. Not too sure, maybe I'll think of someone more.

What's the difference between hyper mobility and hyper range? The judgement just does the same thing as the other killers except at a longe range which is arguable better than having hyper mobility and he doesn't even need to commit to a chase…

You can loop a ghoul, you can do alot of things in chase as a good player to massively delay him. Blight also has huge amounts of chase counter play as well especially since his nerfs. Even nurse has distinct weaknesses that can be punished. What is the judgements weakness? He has none. You can say no mobility but he doesn't need it when his range is longer than other killers mobility.

the range means you have to actually interact with the killer, in this case a dodge to the side occasionally. this killers "chase" is very short but a single beam is still more interaction than some m1 killers as they have to physically walk towards you, allowing you to play on auto pilot with the visual heartbeat. pre running is the opposite of interactivity. Then there's killers like Artist who are so strong in loops they encourage no interaction as well.

  • @Withered8 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4113878#Comment_4113878

Okay if you take everything I said there literally sure but my point still stands.

This killer is the definition of mega power creep and creating more and more blatantly OP killers to satisfy a particular audience in the community. Why would you ever play artist when this killer exists, its blatantly a 1000 times better version of her, and artist ISN’T EVEN A BAD KILLER. People complained about nurse for years because she ignores fundamental game mechanics, but then when this killer and Vecna2 do just that suddenly its not a problem and I don't get it. These killers are even easier than nurse and way more frustrating to play against.

when the answer to every killer is to pre run and not engage, it makes sense to get a killer that forces survivors to dodge the killer. There's a reason people turn to Ghoul. But the only other answer to pre running is hyper mobility, which we already have enough of.

How many Nurses, Blights and Ghouls do we need?

And, frankly speaking, SB just led to people getting tunneled.

I'm really tired of this argument, because it ultimately boils down to 'If you don't willingly give up, I'll switch targets and tunnel'.

well yeah you have to make the bait convincing. humans are creatures who take the path of least resistance. it's why If you want to be chased you don't act desperate by tbagging and clicking incessantly for example. but I'm sure you knew that already.

if there are 3x SBs and 1 person with no exhaustion its kind of a no brainer.

  • something for the Bill mains I like it

  • do you have any comment on the Zealous window buffs?

I find this killer fascinating for the same reasons I do Henry. What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object? A good judgment shouldn't miss, but a good survivors should dodge, too. Only difference is you can't really run away from Judgment much, so there's no physical exhaustion from running after people all game its purely mental exhaustion trying to get reads on people.
