I was wondering if someone here could clarify it for me coz I don't know if I misunderstood the community stream a while back, thanks in advance <33

I've been playing a lot more casually recently and enjoying the game a lot more as a result, so the MMR change is kind of exciting, looking forward to it!

what are they changing about the mmr?

  • @dj_mags said:

I’m begging, as a PlayStation player, to please hide the crossplay globe in the lobby. I have over 6k hours on this game, but because I have that globe, PC players dodge me like I’ve got the plague. I’ll get dodged multiple times in a row and then I feel like the survivors who take their place are at a much lower MMR and I shouldn’t be paired with them.

Can we please save the crossplay information for the end game screen? There’s zero benefit to seeing it in the lobby, other than for lobby-dodgers to dip.

outta my lobby filthy console peasant :,D nah i'm just joking. Played 3k hours on ps4/5 too before swapping to pc.

hi! I'm looking for new friends to play games and chat with! I'm reluctant when it comes to vc'ing with complete strangers, so I'm give me a day or two. I'm 50/50 when it comes to skill, as I'm quite rusty. I'm from Poland and play on pc, I main Mikaela, but recently got into Taurie and Orela too ^^ I mostly play at night, I play for fun, and please, be lgbtq+ friendly

    My discord is Mauriikma

you lost me at the last part. I have no issue with lgb but forcing someone to be friendly with them just isn't it

It took me like a week to get the map and I used to many offerings. I hate the nerf map offerings got, then the annoying part about the trophy is that you need to do main gen and escape. There's a 3 gen that can spawn there if the killer decides to defend it, the map is technically killer sided. It gives me old shelter woods vibes. Then there's the issue of if the killer dc's (which happened to me twice), if the server crashes, if someone else completes the main gen while you're in chase, if you get tunneled out, etc. etc.

Then that's just the problem with that trophy there are some trophies you might not ever get like Hemophobia- Escape the asylum without losing a single drop of blood. The only way you're getting this is if the killer you're going up against is utter trash

Same with item of obsession- Escape as the last survivor and as the killers obsession without getting hit,

There are even some killer specific trophies you're probably going to get any time soon like the Vecna ones escaping with hand or eye artifacts. These probably aren't getting changed to convivence anyone. Fortunately I have 100% trophies in dbd and all dlcs but trust I know what you're going through

Nevermind I just did it xD faced a spirit and one guy dced very quickly. We still played it out and got down to 1 gen. She killed the bot and another guy and let me and the rando escape :)

it should be two uses and the skill check should be removed. With it becoming a general perk it will be a strong anti tunnel perk.

I actually agree. The skill check should be removed. I mean you are legit taking a perk for anti tunneling. At least give us the effect lmao. That is like failing deliverance to get off the hook

  • W Behaviour doing a bunch of nothing. The Classic as always

    The Problem:

Frankly, the game is designed as a 4v1. That is why tunneling is so effective; it reduces the game to a 3v1 scenario in which the odds are heavily stacked to the killer (obviously). If a player is dead at 5 gens, the game is essentially a loss for survivors. It's unproductive to give survivors insane speed, endurance, no scratchmarks, etc., when survivors can already bring perks such as DS, OTR, DH, and more. What needs to be evaluated is the 3v1 situation, especially at 4 and 5 gens, without punishing the killer player for gameplay to the level of disrupting or limiting their player agency.

    The Long-Term Solution:

While a blanket gen repair speed buff for remaining survivors in a trial, if the right conditions are met, is ultimately the correct solution to tunneling, this may be too abrasive to initially implement. [The condition of a survivor dying at 3, 4, or 5 gens is met, similar to the bonuses in 2v8.] The "hyper-turbo-tunneling" playstyle is mitigated when the 3v1 scenario is slightly more evened out. To highlight this, many survivors will not bother to work on gens if there is already a player dead at 4 or 5 gens, seeing it as pointless. Yet, once the knowledge of "evened-out" gen repair speeds is implemented in a match, it may encourage survivors to continue to play even with a killed teammate.

    The Easier Solution:

Collectively, we should begin balancing by looking at what actually informs player gameplay and alters strengths and playstyles: Perks. Many perks for survivors are outright disabled once endgame begins, such as DS, OTR, and others. This is a good thing. While all the gens being completed is an indication of the killer losing, when is that moment for survivor? Typically, it is most commonly "decided" for the survivors when there is a player dead with multiple gens remaining. It is poor game balance to allow large gen slowdown perks to work with a player dead at 4 or 5 gens. If a player is tunneling aggressively at 5 gens and has a kill by 4 gens remaining, it is currently possible to continue to have 3 pain res hooks to regress gens.

Similar to the state of certain survivor perks that disable in endgame, there should be a limit or caveat on gen regression perks that prevent them from further use if the condition of a survivor dying at 4 or 5 gens is met. Pain res would disable outright. If a player is playing killer in a match and has killed someone with 5 gens remaining, are pain res and other slowdown perks necessary to win? It's unlikely.

It is possible that this change could encourage players to spread hooks more appropriately and shy away from tunneling playstyles.

I actually agree with this title. Remove all gen regression/slowdown if a person dies before the mid point of the gens aka 3 gens. There is no justification for the killer side to have gen slowdown/regression if they got into a 3v1 situation at 4/5 gens

In normal dbd it's rare I get a ggez maybe once every...seven? Months but my lord 2v8 I had a match where we did terrible as killer about 25% done on hooks by the time gens were done and boom two ggez at the end. I guess some survivors really find being toxic fun then? I don't see the point of it doesn't really discourage since I see as that survivor just doesn't escape often. Also because I hear Dale from King of Hill reading typing it to me.

how is typing ggez toxic. lmao please get a grip guys.

This ######### is so extremely busted and annoying to verse and was clearly put because of legion. Anyone that isn't a dash killer is legit unplayable because of it.

I am loving this so much. We need sb on command in normal mode this feels sooooo good to use.

  • I actually found the solution. Press Tab and Shift to bring up that one steam overview then tab out to whatever you want to do :)

  • @SpringMyTrap said:

Hopefully never, they will be a massive decline in gameplay quality and the inevitable compensation / killer design change will make the game so much less enjoyable.

edit: to people downvoting me, do you genuinely want the game to turn into blight (krasue/ghoul moreso) by daylight? or do you just completely lack the ability to understand cause and effect and think they'll actually keep making fun and interactive mid tier (as of today's standard) killers in the dbd with these systems?

do you not understand that the people wishing for these changes are already constantly facing these killers? That is why they are asking for them. We NEVER face killers below A tier

  • @Emeal said:

Yeah, if you want the full Rift, you need daily play too.

Its almost like the system was made to incentivize players to play and not for players who don't want to or cant play to still get a cool reward. I put in my hours playing surely I should be rewarded more than you?

If you are not playing, why should you still get rewarded?

maybe because they … paid for it?

Wrong. The game is mostly solo q. Killers 4k solo almost regular and sometimes swf as well. The games out of balance. BHVR should realize its too easy for killers. Especially ghoul and krasue. They both need an entire rework because broken.

where do you get your info that the game is mostly solo q? Or is it just trust me bro? i am a solo survivor and would actually love to know the source

"Just lagswitch to play the game" is absolutely insane advice???

at this point it's not even a crazy thing to say anymore. I sometimes check ping and it drops from 300 to 30 for killers. I really do believe so many are actually using it already

  • I basically always have 20 ping but for some reason the killers have 90 or higher…it's just a disgusting game

I really like the class system, but what I also appreciate about 2v8 is how alive the maps feel. You’re always seeing teammates running around or interacting with stuff, and having two killers makes it extra exciting. You can never get too comfortable since you might get surprise attacked. Not just by stealth killers, but even regular ones running the shadow class.

THIS. A random wesker popping out of nowhere slamming me into the wall xD Man I love 2v8 so much hahaha

  • @sinkra said:

They need to just make it permanent already. Surely they csn see the numbers that most players prefer it.

literally this. 1v4 is so unbearably miserable it is actually disgusting. I don't give a damn about perks. Facing killer perks has to be the most disgusting thing on planet earth. 2v8 is so chill deluxe so relaxing man. Bring it back asap

How many people have actually played a party game? I see people saying that DBD is supposed to be a party game, and I'm wondering how many people have actually played a party game in a real life party?

Party games are supposed to have really simple rules, so that people can quickly learn the games even if they're drunk. They often involve very simple minigames like "mash a button to pull a boat", or "guess what percentage of Americans have used roller skates in the past year", or "guess what picture your teammate is drawing".

What part of this is anything like DBD? Does anyone think they can go to a real life party, teach drunk people how to play this game, and then have the new people do well in this game?

What are we talking about here. Go to Gen hold M1. Press Space to drop pallet or vault woooooow so advanced mechanics man. Run to survivor press M1 to lunge. Press space to vault and break pallet omgggggg immaculate gameplay holy so advanced omg. It is a party game…… A comp game goes 40 minutes like league of legends or counter strike and is super duper complex with wave management etc. Get a grip kiddo. DBD is not a comp game

  • @Nathan13 said:

Its pointless to extend events constantly this has been going on for a while. Seeing a lot of survivors wanting it permanently but it already messes with the queues, not to mention people only play 2v8 for the bloodpoints. I just personally don’t get enjoyment playing survivor in 2v8 after a few matches.

it is the most fun i have had in a while as survivor. Super casual game mode, vibing with a lot of people, cranking out some gens, having some fun chases and a really high escape rate actually. Been a blast and infinitely better than pain res grim embrace dead mans 1v4 nightmare

  • @bleep275 said:

Every match in 1v4 ive had this past week with the exception of a few have been hard tunneling. At this point i feel like theyre doing it to be petty about the almost update. Even in 2v8 im seeing more tunneling than usual. so shoutout to the devs for pulling out a carpet pull and showing the toxic parts of the community that they can continue to make us all miserable.

again 1v4 is completely unplayable. Garbage ahh mode with just a bunch of *** killers playing the game

  • thank god. This had to be one of the most annoying killers to face

  • @Rudjohns said:

    Go for the points

Don't need to go with details on how it should work, but basically:

-Killer spread hooks and all survivor escapes
They get around 40k to 50k points from the match

-Killer hard tunnels survivors and kill everybody
    They get around 5-7k points

So it's all about their choice. They pick which type of fun they want to have.

Also, anti-tunnel survivor perks should be drastically buffed:

Decisive Strike doesn't have a timer. Activates upon the first pick up. Neither Off The Record or Blood Rush, but conspicuous Action still comes to play.
These anti-tunnel perks are balanced even if they are that strong because survivors will get the best of them if the killer tunnels, but if not, if they want to use their perks they can't progress through the game without deactivating them. And adding a couple of other buffs to other perks to hard counter both tunneling and slugging as well should be okay.

At the end of the day, these changes are much better than what they presented in the PTB

This could work if we have a ranked system that benefits you based on points

  • @XDgamer018 said:

For me its simply too fast. A single m1 wiff can mean losing the match.

doesn't this also apply to the normal game mode tho?

  • @OnryosTapeRentals said:

Personally, I don’t think it is. The gameplay loop in both modes is the same for survivors, just with less content in 2v8. No perks, fewer maps, fewer killers to face, no items, no addons, no offerings.

I think it is a lot more casual, chill and generally speaking more enjoyable :) takes a lot of the uncontrollable out of the game since you have more mates which means you can have 1-2 more competent teammates :) which makes the whole game a lot more playable and less frustrating

  • @Inosennatoki said:

If all the killer players uninstall this game.

won't happen. Survivors did not uninstall after Dead Hard and DS changes. Killer players won't uninstall. They will simply adapt.

  • @CrypticGirl said:

I like this better than auto-dashing. I rarely played the Escapist class myself, but a lot of times I felt like the "dash" is wasted when I happen to run by an Escapist teammate.

it's definitely a lot more useful :) need to be fixed tho. My first game worked perfectly fine and then second one was laggy whenever I decided to use the sprint burst

  • @MashedBroccoli said:

the problem with the hatch is so many killers have incredibly loud chase music neither side can hear the hatch. There are some times where im trying to be nice and give the hatch to the last survivor but we can’t hear it and it takes way longer than it should.

LITERALLY THIS. Bro the chase sound is so loud I can't hear ######### with the nerfed hatch sound

  • @Brokenbones said:

    From 9.1.2 patch notes:

    • Team Skill (adjustment):Escapist Team Skill is now activated by using Active Ability Button 2.Range of Silent Rush ability has been increased to 12m (was 8m).

    So yeah this is intentional

it's kinda laggy tho whenever I activate it. Feels very unintentional xD

I've been in que for survivor in 2v8 more for about 10 minutes now, and I'm fine with the waiting, but it's been instant the past couple of times. I tried originally to que for killer in 2v8, then clicked on the, que as survivor while I wait thing, but that didn't do anything. Then I turned the game off and back on, went into survivor que, and now it's been about ten minutes. Is anyone else having this problem?

I think so too. Waited for a solid 5 minutes. Back to normal suffering Queue now I guess

Multiple of these on the map, with massive dead zones to anything else (not that it would matter, you couldn't even chain this with anything). Empty fields of corn as far as the eye can see. Every maze tile was the garbage Coldwind Special where no matter what you do, the pallet is hidden somewhere in the middle and useless even if you find it. Please someone on the design team show me what I'm missing in my thousands of hours of playing survivor. Clearly I'm just bad and can't loop killers on this incredible tile.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/B8CXQ7BJQKOZ/pallet.png

They are the so called 1 meter pallets xD their purpose is not safety but the illusion of safety. You absolutely CAN NOT drop these pallets. As long as they are up you have some kind of safety by being the greediest bstrd on planet earth. The moment you drop them YOU LOSE

  • @Katedavren said:

They always get the shine let Shane get some too at least as a skin a sticker something, this would be perfect against the nemesis so I can leave a survivor behind like Shane did

I really want the bald shane skin. Please make it happen behaviour. AY LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING WESKER LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING

  • It already is on :,D seems like adding that feature has kinda cooked the game. Now sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't

  • @IlliterateGenocide said:

yess more survivors that are kinda bad people

I wouldn't say Shane was a bad person. He simply adapted faster to what was happening than everyone else. He was basically Rick from Season 5 but in Season 1 already.

  • @PatchNoir said:

There is a reason we dont have a perk yet that repairs pallets in the game… because its strong. When we first had the option to remake pallets on anniversary it already was kinda problematic but still was balanced since it was brittle + the killer could insta break it.

Now on 2v8 we have pallet repair but without the counterweight, so you can reuse strong tiles over and over again, like shack or many others. Precisely you have to break the dropped pallets so they dont lift it, if you dont break it is safe enough to loop around to many times wich is throwing the game since gens fly

But breaking it costs time, just for you to chase someone else in the same loop accounting for it to be broken and BAM, new pallet there.

When survs are good you cant respect too much since they will window jump or go another loop, but breaking it doesnt solve anything cause it will be replaced by a new one.

Also from the new classes only fear and shadow are usable, since breaking things is a waste of time + you depent on the random to stay close to you (or you have to chase them the whole game for value)

The extra lunge one is useless on soloq since the activation requiriment is too high for its value + its worse than the coup perk and you have to synergize well with the random teammate.

Next event make repaired pallets brittle at least, also fix the invisible pallet stuns

Don't play 2v8 if you want to optimise everything. Play it for the goofiness and fun. Do not balance 2v8 EVER.

  • @kommandantlocke said:

i think rebuilding pallets should make fragile pallets, after the pallet is destroyed the next time its rebuilt it is a fragile pallet they shatter after they are thrown like freddys pallets u can still stun the killer but it breaks upon use

    No

  • Haddonfield has to be one of the worst maps imaginable…Brother there are 2 pallets on the side of the street which are 1 meter pallets and then 1 in the road. What are u supposed to do against a billy exactly?

  • Same with me btw. Did 4 and it only shows 3

  • @Shaped said:

    "Did you have fun?"

    No!

I unironically give 1 star ratings so many times xD with the hope the system doesn't give me the killer again

  • First and foremost Ghoul IS NOT BALANCED. At least not in the state he is currently in. I don't know what they should tweak about him but that bs vault over pallet and have no recovery time whatsoever to get a free hit is pure nonsense and should be removed just like they did with Chucky. Ghoul already has insane mobility. He does not need an uncounterable chase ability. Survivors are not running the loop wrong because there is no running the loop right against Ghoul. It is a stage 4 killer and should be changed immediately.

Why would I gamble my BP and go over 2M if there's a chance they'll lower the cap again and screw me?

What? You do realize you wouldn't lose those blood points right?

  • @Pantera5641 said:

The problem is that it takes about 5-6 minutes to level a character from level 1 to 50. You will say that this is not very much. However, it cannot be denied that sitting and pressing a button for five minutes in a row is very tiring, and you have to press it REPEATEDLY.

    My ideas for a solution:

1.Add something that you can just press the button once and go drink tea.

2.Add a separate menu where you can choose how many levels you want to upgrade your character to, and the system will upgrade your levels for you in 5-10 seconds. (This option is much preferable)

I 100% agree. Spending 2 million bp is beyond annoying….
