I've always thought it would be cool for Oni and Nemesis to have a power swap, just give oni a chain attack instead of a tentacle and make the infection something to do with blood, then let nemesis sprint around the map after building up enough of whatever and instadown survivors with the fists of doom
-
Pretty sure that's completely your fault

Is there still two eyrie of crow maps on the latest update?
Yeah, because dead sands isn't a variation of eyrie of crows, it's a separate map in the same realm
-
A lot of these are just basekit addons, while it would make him better the game just isn't fundamentally viable for him anymore. I would recommend that you watch Otzdarva's video "The elephant in DBD's room", basically so many maps are completely devoid of grass and there's so much counters to him he can never really be viable outside of basement trapper (at least against competent survivors). I appreciate you sharing your ideas though, they would definitely help.
-
They are adding this later this year in phase 2 of the QOL changes. My dream come true as a console huntress main
-
Definitely, I really don't like having my eardrums attacked by weskers chase music playing as or against him.
-
It is really strange when you see a constructive and well thought out comment with 14 downvotes and 2 upvotes, it's always the same people it seems to happen to as well. With downvotes, you can just click the button and move on, instead of providing a reasonable disagreement and explaining why. I don't think it's healthy.
-
Because once you're above the soft cap (Separating brand new players) you can go against pretty much anyone, one match you might get a frosty eyes hag, the next a blight flickmaster supreme with 10 000 hours. Not much you can do about that

A Payday 2 chapter. Cloaker as a killer, so you can dropkick survivors and tell them to go cry on the forums (if they added that voiceline).

I'm in oce, literally any other game I play stays under 40 ping, but dbd decides that it will be fun for me to spike between 80 and 600

Ok thank you. But it could of been maybe a random in the server lagging the server on purpose. Not saying ur that person but the lag didn't seen normal. But again I can be completely wrong on it.
Plus where you on Garden of Joy when that happened to you just making sure we were on the same server
It was on badham, and I'm on oce servers so im not surprised about the ping thing. I doubt it's anyone actually lagging the servers.
-
I was playing survivor with some of my friends a few nights ago against a slinger, he speared me and hit me (you could see the blood spray thing) and i didn't take any damage. Everyone was on 200+ ping so it was probably a server issue. With the gate opening, they could have just been camping the gate with wake up and leader or something.
-
I'm pretty sure this is just a server issue. Many times this week this has happened to me, it's not a cheater thing it's just a connection issue. It will say you disconnected in the egc screen, but you don't get a penalty because it wasn't you.

Actually I have a happy life. I'm a Dbd player for the beginning of it, and the way the game is going and unfortunetly peolpe minds is really start annoying me. Before this, people had good competitive mind. Now, 100% of my games are hook, camp, focus and hard tunnel. I love this game, and I really love to play it. It's annoying to saw that, the fact that behavior are not listen to people and a big lgbt wave that doesn't have to overflow like it does and is killing the game's goal is a proof of bhv losting their game's goal. So don't worry about my life, I'm happy about that. About the game I'm not.
How is bhvr losing their game's goal? behaviour IS listening to people, just maybe not you specifically. They have to take into account the majority of the player base. And what do you even mean by "a big lgbt wave that doesn't have to overflow and is killing the games goal"? They're just embracing diversity in their game, nothing wrong with that. It's not killing the game.
You may live a happy life, but it will be happier when you realise that a video game company does not care about your specific opinions, and going around saying lgbt is killing your favourite video game isn't going to have a positive effect.
-
It would be my dream to never see houndmaster or singularity again, but this wouldn't be healthy for the game. All it would do is increase que times for people playing the hated killers. I understand the phobia part, but instead of outright banning those killers, just make a setting that changes the models and textures of the killers and powers that may have accessibility issues for certain players.

Huntress with Tricksters Trick blade addon, ricocheting hatchets

Thanking you that man!
Thus far I've had a head pop every game… a rather alarming success rate. Though obviously map dependence is a thing, I haven't faced something really nasty yet, but it has been surprisingly effective so far....
Let Me know how you get on 🤘
Tried it out today, I got Midwich first match (not sure if that's good for the jigsaw box spread) and it went pretty well, 3k no head pops though 🙁 (also it was napkin MMR because I rarely play pig).
Game 2, I got sent to Hawkins by a Steve 4-man that were just doing head on in that one room, so wasn't a great match to do it in (they weren't doing gens). And then I had to do something else. But it's a fun build, thanks for taking the time to share it with everyone. I'll have to use it a bit more before I get the full value.
I also have a build idea of my own, if you'd like to try it.
Play Nemesis
. Insidious
. Coup de grace
. NOED
. Blood warden
Bring a Hawkins offering, chase a bit and use your coup stacks and don't try and win.
Then, when it gets to 2 gens, hide by one of the exit gates and camp with insidious. When the survivors try and leave, they'll be met with a nemesis travelling mach-3 towards them, with a fist raised and a NOED ablaze
-
How did that zombie even get up there?
-
Because I've sort of developed a love-hate relationship for no mither after I got it 3 times in one play session in chaos shuffle.
-
If you're doing a gen, totem, chest, exit gate or healing in front of him, he can't insta kill you. And if he camps you until you finish the gen, just keep failing skill checks. Pretty much the only counter outside of lockers.
-
Sea otter!
-
Used to until I learnt it did nothing. Same with the 'did you have fun?' button.

Except you aren’t losing a meta perk for a counter perk, if the perk hard counters a killer then THAT perk is the meta in that scenario. Or you can just swap to the meta perk that counters that killer better.
Killer is Legion? Swap from Dead Hard to Sprint Burst. You didn’t really lose any “meta” perks in that swap but now gain a better advantage.
Killer is Spirit? Put on Iron Will. Doesn’t matter if it’s not meta overall, it’s a massive counter so in this scenario it is “meta”.
Twins? Flip Flop with Power Struggle. Doesn’t matter if these two perks aren’t good against any other killer when they make it near impossible for this one killer in particular to pick you up. Or alternatively, just use Unbreakable.
And then there’s also the issue that you can bring certain items to counter the killer.
Trapper? Bring a map and now he has literally no power.
Plague? Swap from a med kit to a tool box.
Oni? Bring a med kit with max charges.
Or even map offerings. M1 killer? Garden or Badham. Stealth killer? Eyrie. Dredge? Red Forest. Trapper? Any map without grass. Yes they are reducing the chances of being sent to the map next patch, but still you have a 20% chance every game of gaining a massive, hand picked advantage.
While I understand your point and agree that the new player experience should be a priority, revealing the killer in the lobby is not a good idea right now. Maybe if there were some massive changes to the game then it could work but with how the game is designed, showing the killer gives you too much of an advantage.
A workaround to this could be to only show you the killer once the perks are locked in? I like ops idea, but you could just choose the counter to whatever you're going against, like if you can see the survivor's items/addons and rarities, and they have a sabo build, just switch to a knockout build. Neither of these builds are healthy for the game either, and being able to predict what builds your opponents have and see which killer it is just isn't going to be viable at any level past beginner.
-
While the point of this mode isn't to be balanced, you do have a good point. The survivors have a lot more to work with (even though there were no new classes or abilities this time???) and killer can be pretty frustrating, especially if your teammate isn't exactly competent. And it's pretty hard to tell yourself that this gamemode is just for fun after a 15 minute que and a 5 minute genrush. And then getting a softlocked teammate. That's why I either play survivor or just don't play the mode.

I agree it certainly wouldn't be the in the realms of being a strong perk but as you say, in certain situations like Freddy, impossible skill check Doc and Coulrophobia it could be used to throw off the killer as well as in chase it may lead to making it seem fast vaults have occurred when line of sight is lost if scratch marks aren't easy to track.
Also, I have thought about a similar Hex perk idea (probably too weak though) as a flip side to this boon idea - a hex that copies the Doctors illusion ability but obviously for any killer. It would be amazing if the illusions looked like they were moving around the map to make them believable but I don't know how possible it would be technically
I agree, there is opportunity for niche value in there.
As for your hex idea, also love it, but I can only imagine the bugs if this was actually implemented. Say there wasn't bugs, this would actually be pretty useful to throw off checkspots and mindgames (assuming the illusion is near you while in chase).
-
Really like the build, very well thought out, I'll give it ago next time I try pig!

Yeah it’s probably the most unbalanced map in the game right now. And with the Freddy rework it would’ve been the perfect time to do so.
I imagine map reworks take a lot of effort (which is why we still haven’t gotten that Swamp redesign) so it’s probably not a priority right now, especially with the focus on the upcoming health updates and Skull Merchant needing reworks every 5 minutes. And since there is five versions of it (why??) it would probably take more effort than most other maps to rework as well.
They've cancelled the swamp rework like 3 times now. I hope that when it's finally released, they don't just add a swamp equivalent of the teepee loop from coldwind for every loop.
-
It's an interesting idea, but I feel like the perk would be completely redundant once killer players learn how to tell it's just the boon. There's the universal "thunder" noise that plays once a boon is lit, and if the killer hears that, then hears the noise notifications, then the boon noise, unless they can't put two and two together that's pretty much a perk slot wasted. You wouldn't even have to snuff the boon. One niche use I could think of is failing a skill check against freddy in the boon area? Overall though, It's a creative concept and I commend you for posting your idea.
-
Dredges locker teleporting ability heavily depends on RNG, so there isn't much to master there (aside from the whole grabbing people as they run past thing) so you should focus on learning how to zone people with your remnant, e.g. place your remnant on one side of the loop and then push them towards the remnant from the other side. Keep in mind you are much slower after you have placed your remnant. That's pretty much all I can tell you.

Played since early 2022 on console, my only p100 is huntress.

The problem with making the game more "noob friendly" is that Dead By Daylight by nature is not a noob friendly game.
When you first queue as killer, you will struggle - you are loading into a game practically perkless going against survivors who more than likely have perks. Sure, they are inexperienced just as you are MMR wise - while the same is said for the survivor side.
Dead by Daylight is an inherently grindy game, causing many people to have to play game after game of having little to no perks - tunneled, genrushed, camped, etc.
There's a reason why a vast majority that play this game are veteran players who have chosen to stick with the game for as long as its existence. The people who have left, left for reasons such as perk changes, general changes to the game (some leave for the direction of chase versus stealth for example).
Dead by Daylight is a hard game to break into in today's day and age, not only due to the fact that you need to level up to even gain perk access (it's stupid and should be removed for more accessibility) but because it weeds out newer players as a whole. I would argue that early on Dead By Daylight was very beginner friendly, but today? No, it's not.
Even if the game became more "noob friendly", what would those changes look like? The reason why Dead by Daylight was so easy to play at first was due to people who had no idea how to play.
People urban evading everywhere, fog obscuring killer and survivor, survivors blowing up gens because they weren't used to skill checks, killers hitting people on the hook (thinking it kills them faster), and all of the other chaos that early Dead By Daylight had.
There is no way to make this game noob friendly unless you, as a new player, knows a more experienced player to teach you or you go out of your way to watch content creators. There's hundreds of perks in the game and is completely overwhelming to a newcomer and why many, many of the player base are people who have played and stuck with the game for so many years lol.
Well said.
The tutorials don't mention anything at all on looping, when to unhook, do gens, and all the important stuff that actually applies to the game. I think it's because this game was meant to just be a horror-stealth power trip game, and they haven't quite updated the tutorials accordingly. The only killer you learn to play against is trapper. Hopefully the new player experience is addressed in the 'and more' section of the changes!

That makes sense. In that way, you were kind of saying "Those people aren't worth worrying about." Kind of like the advice people give about real life bullies or jerks. And there's definitely something useful about that outlook.
I think in games like this, we're also kind of forced to deal with some number of people who want to be mean, so we need both outlooks. We need to care less about the bullies, but we also need to be proactive about making sure everyone at least has a chance to enjoy their time playing. I think that's part of what makes people play 2v8. Teleporting to hooks with unknown locations makes it hard to tunnel, hooks move to a new location if abkiller tries to camp, and I know I like the low probability of getting moried, so I've played survivor more than normal in 2v8.
Yeah, that's what I was getting at there.
And yeah, in this game there will always be people who are toxic, and there isn't any point in wasting energy on the specific people, rather the problem as a whole. Instead of brooding over that survivor who tbagged you at the gates after an 8 hook game, just try and spread positivity, that's what I think would really help this issue, it's a lot more difficult to be unkind when you're getting nothing but kindness back.

It's not immature to not enjoy an opponent in a game gloating. It's generally considered bad sportsmanship to do something that can be considered showing off once a game is won. And a lot of killer players slug for 4k, and then follow it up by waiting for the third survivor to be sacrificed while they stand over the fourth waiting for their free mori so they can show off that they won. That can certainly feel like rubbing the victory in.
Also, why are you telling op that there's not any point in caring about something? They clearly care about it, and we shouldn't just say "There's no point for you to do this." That seems a lot like saying op's feelings are invalid. If you think they shouldn't care about it, it would be good to talk about why they shouldn't. Like when people say "Oh, that person's a bully, don't pay any attention to them."
However... having no hooks shouldn't be happening often at endgame. No arguments there. In the few games where I play survivor these days, if I don't have any hooks and I have teammates are on death hook, I go get the killer's attention.
I might not have been clear enough. When I said if anybody cares about this, it's immature, I meant that if the killer was gloating and actually cared so much that they beat someone in a video game that they need to rub it in, It's immature. Not caring about the gloating. And when I said there isn't any point caring about it, I'm not trying to invalidate ops feelings. I'm just trying to say it would be a waste of time and energy to do so, because I used to get quite mad when an opponent gloating, but I realised it's much easier to move on. English is not my first language so I try to be as articulate as possible, but I often word things terribly, so that's my bad.

when i haven't been hooked they shouldn't have the option to mori me and its hair pulling type frustrating when the killer slugs the 3th to go for the 4th then hooks them and waits for them to die JUST to mori the last survivor and being their toxic they get the last laugh for killing me which was gonna happen regardless but I rather be hooked then moried it's like rubbing salt in the wound
Ok, so it's a spite thing.
You realise that there really isn't any point in caring about a killer getting to watch an animation after winning?
Also, having no hooks while your entire team is dead? Maybe you should be more of a team player, then you wouldn't be the last person mori'd.
Not many killer players would doing this to 'rub salt in the wound' or 'get the last laugh'. If anybody actually cares about that, they are simply just immature.
-
What don't you like about the mori?
-
I try to play fair I guess, I stopped caring about kills a while ago. I still play out the trial and do chases and stuff, but I don't try and win. On Xbox, so less of those bm chatters. Still get the occasional message from those pre-pubescent children who have a massive ego and think they're 'juicers' or whatever.
-
Did you even fully read the changes? Literally half of the changes are against unhealthy or unfun things the killer can do. They've addressed the survivors with go next prevention (for survivor) and spawning grouped (which already happens most of the time).
Can you give it a rest with this 'killer sided ruining the game' nonsense? BHVr is obviously trying to do something here for the good of the game, and you, along with many others are ignoring all of the good changes, coming up with the worst case scenario for good changes, jumping to conclusions and saying that the game will be ruined by these 'killer sided changes'.
-
It's 100 % worth it, I'd rather this than more content and the game staying in the state it is now.

True, but opening the gates starts the EGC. This could potentially trap or kill your teammates in extreme cases. Making sure everyone is safe before starting the EGC (at least in 1v4) is probably the best thing to do. It can be situational, but most of the time it's fine (imo).

It is a shame that it took more than just wanting to make a good game. I agree that without the incoming fnaf wave BHVr likley wouldn't have felt such urgency, potentially doing nothing at all.
And while that fact isn't pretty, I guess we just need to be grateful that something is even happening anyway.
-
There's lots of great ones but the Anniversary one stands out to me because I started playing in the first twisted masquerade event in 2022, so it resonates with me specifically because it was the first one I heard. It's not even that impressive music wise, just memorable.

I've reached a point where I don't even care about kills or escaping anymore so I just do dumb builds and try to help teammates escape or get value from terrible perks

Yes. 100% agree - I talked about that the other day. They could definitely make the event of skill checks occur luck based. It defeats the purpose of Deadline, but regardless they need to rework luck and even the thumbs up when you end the trial.
No point of having it, either remove it or outright make it so when you thumbs up (you can make it sorta like Overwatch where you can only thumbs up randoms) and give a BP bonus. The game honestly is archaic when it comes to these features and I'm surprised Behavior hasn't done anything when it comes to "giving props".
Also, with the introduction of M&K to console, hopefully we get a better report system that allows us to type rather than give the generic reason on why we are reporting people too.
And it doesn't even matter if it defeats the point of deadline, because deadline is already detrimental anyway.
Yeah, as a console player I hope that, as well as the report thing you mentioned, we get text chat too. Not because I'm a toxic terry, but in the rare good survivor game or funny killer game (where we still play the game normally), It really sucks to not say anything or see anything they say. Though I guess it wouldn't be great to be able to see those wannabe 'juicers' calling me slurs or whatever else.
-
I genuinely think that would be overkill. They can instantly heal anyway, and use a herb to remove a hook state or heal. 80 sec endurance after an unhook on top of that plus aura being hidden is (imo) way too much for what they already have.
But this is a fun little meme mode, so who cares?
