  • I'm with you on this stuff, because they can rework it to be more fair, sadly though....

The dev's don't actually care, because DBD IS ACTUALLY FAIR in a horrible way.

Ranking isn't important (they stated that)

Camping may have been intended for the game, which would explain why they won't do anything.

Looping and Gen rushing are fair because the killer can camp

D-strike, same as looping and gen rushing.

if survivors are stronger then killer (it could just be based on the players skill) same as top bit.

They are leaving the debate of these topics up to us, because they don't have a way of fixing, and probably never will. These are things players have been getting angry over ever since the game came out (I'm pretty sure of that at least) and if they haven't solved or found a way to stop these complaints, then this show why DBD will fail and the comunity itself is so toxic.

They can rework DBD, some of its op perks, and in the end have it come down to skill. Of course so much would need to change.

Hook mechanics, Gen mechanics (gen mechanics might not be that hard though), add newer objectives, and other things to.

Its sadly fact, and besides people who can use the garbage game mechanics are not going to want it to change any time soon either.

(I'd avoid this site if I were most of the comunity is extremely rude, hypercritical, or just awful as DBD's mechanics)

So killers and survivors can't ask for any nerfs or buffs

Story mode sounds cool and I think it would be if done well, but it would be a huge amount of work and realistically it's not going to happen for a very long time, if at all. The devs have much bigger fish to fry at the moment.

As for the legacy thing, I'm guessing you're just going to tell me it isn't fair no matter how I try to justify it, but I'll give it a go anyway. (Disclaimer: I don't have any legacy skins, because I'd only just started playing at the time, but I was there when the change happened.) Prestiging a character used to be a much, much bigger time commitment. It took like 5 times longer than it does now. The legacy skins were a reward for those who put in so much effort to get there before the devs made prestige a lot easier. It's the same as event-exclusive skins - you put in the work, you get the reward. The skin is like a badge of honour that says "I put in this much time and work into this game at a point in its development when getting to this place was much more difficult". And you want to have a badge that says that you did all that work, even though you didn't? Now that's unfair. Exclusives are exclusive for a reason. It doesn't affect your game at all, it's just an optional identifier to say "I was here, and I did the grind". Just get the next exclusive item that comes along, and you can have bragging rights for that. But let the people who did the time get the reward for it. You're not entitled to something you didn't earn, under any circumstances.

Woah! Slow down crucifier, I didn't mean it like that.

Okay I know a decent amount about DBD, but I only have been playing since christmas last year in 2017.
But I didn't know thats some of the main reasons why, they made it exclusive.
So I wasn't around at the time to play DBD at the time (due to still being under house rules)

    But tell me this
How many people are getting reported/banned and unfairly targeted because they have legacy?
How come there can't be new challenges/events that let late players like us get a chance to get them?
Whats to say they have a different/new look for legacy, but its not the same as the ones that were the event exclusive?

Somebody hacked my friend's dbd account and gave him legacy, later my friend got banned, and he didn't even wear the legacy into a match (not that he told me of at least)

I'm not saying I want a badge of honor, I just want a costume, there is nothing stopping the devs from making different legacy cosmetics that are not the same or as rare as the others.
Like people who have legacy (from the event) get a special medal on the costume or something?

Okay so before you start excusing me of wanting something I didn't understand was a badge, make sure I know first.

    ... sure thing. /s

Before I get crucifide like everyone else here for saying something...

Yeah I already noticed one thing I forgot to mention.

If you run stridor, you'll here the survivors talking, this would give stridor users (like Micheala) a strong advantage.

Also I know it would make sense they didn't talk at all, but if they did, it would make sense if they stopped talking when they here the killer is near by.

Unless of course your playing Micheal, Pig, and Wraith. Maybe Spirit while using her ability?

  • @rj1567 said:
Most of the things you suggested have absolutely nothing to do with the lore as it can be expanded easily that as example the entity tries new types of trials that are more effective in harvesting emotions.

Personally I don't want talking survivors it is so stupid. Why would you talk in a place where every noice could kill you?
This isn't like Last Year where the survivors locations are always known so it doesn't matter or F13 where you use the sense ability and are close to them and then when they are talking also doesn't matter.
This is DbD were stealth is actually an option you can use. Also all survivors are strangers to one another so there are even more reasons to not talk to each other. Also it could be possible that maybe the entity makes it so they can't talk.

But a singleplayer campaign or just singleplayer missions with the option to also have it as COOP would be something i would love

Let clerify the talking bit if it was in the game.
The survivors would interect with eachother and say something after something obiviose happens (like a skill check fail or completeing an action)

The trick here is, the killer/ person who plays killer/ you or me, can't here them say anything.
Yeah I guess your right that nobody really wouldn't want to talk in the relm of the entity.
But I think it would add something more to the characters, give us something to bond with the characters.

You are that is also more of a gameplay then lore issue, maybe I'll move it to wish list.

dont say people dont do it becuz they do some killers and survivors get salty simply becuz of the fact u beat them plain and simple doesnt matter how fair u played
i can link so many more pictures of this if need be from both sides

Let me rephrase what I said.

"It can lower the chances of mean/toxic messages"

They just were not as good as your friend, if they didn't do said cheap tactic, then they are just sore loosers. People are going to be salty for loosing, and if they can't accept the fact the loss to someone with more skill, then them....T-O-O B-A-D.

These players are in higher ranks too, I've heard thats where a lot of toxic players comes from. Not all of it, but some.

Your right though, people will be ######### despite loosing fair and square. But then you can report them.
But you said it your self though.

"It can come from both sides"

I'm sorry for your friend got some sore loosers.
NOTE to everyone: you can win by playing as any character, so if you think someone is playing nurse or claudette to win...(you might be right) but they are there for us to play as, so just get better at the game. Its a skill based game. and don't be a jerk after the match if everyone played fairly.

You can't change that fact. I'm surprised the Devs haven't found a solution yet, this has topic has been going on for a long time, you'd think they would want to do something to stop it.

But just for the record, your not justifide for camping if you were having trouble chasing one survivor (or tea bagging, and flashlight flickering) .
(unless you have actual proof they were hacking)
Because then it could just be that you are not the best at hitting survivors who can juke.
Or the survivor is just better at dodging.
Just to make sure your aware of that.

Also you don't really get any mean or toxic messages at the end of the match, if you DON'T Camp.

Oh look… we found the entitled survivor main. ^^

    Its truth over oppiounin,
I'm slowly adjusting to killer, can't wait to get clown. but I haven't gotten any mean messages for playing the game fairly weather I win or loose. funny thing is someone who was being toxic actually apologized after the match.
besides why be all by your self, when you can be on vc with your friends. And who likes being IT during a game of tag? its fun but your by your self.

I'm a killer main but i'm not totally against DS. I just wish it wasn't an 'obsession' perk. Nor do i think it should be 'saveable'. It should be a one time use during your first 'pickup'. One and done. No more dribbling. No more 1/3 wiggle bullshit.

A lot of killers would dis agree, I forgot to mention though that you can't use it if you have been picked up.

  • @Eight said:
Eh? Clown is pretty cool to play.

The point of the bottles isn't to inflict any damage (or even slow people down), it's to control the survivors' movement - ideally before they reach a looping point. If the gas actually caused injury then it'd have to be limited further, like a hatchet, which would take away the only unique thing about him.

Bamboozle is also pretty fun to throw in on any killer.

Thankfully, I rarely see skilled Clown players. But when you do, they're damn near impossible to escape from.

Maybe he's impossible to escape because he's kinda like Freddy? Freddy got a lot nerfs and then hardly anyone played him any more. But when the very few people started playing him, survivor mains are not experienced with him anymore because you rarely see him, and they are least expecting him in a match......Hm? maybe I should main clown or freddy? if hardly anyone is playing him, then I'll have the element of surprise.

  • @Dr_Trauts said:

    @VolantConch1719 said:
This does seem like a decent idea. However, it still doesn't bring him up to Nurse or Hillbilly.
Kenneth/Jeffrey/Clown/Druggie/Whatever is more of a niche character. In my personal experience, his power doesn't do much of anything to actually help him. Throwing it in a normal, vault-less, pallet-less chase is practically pointless. Sure, the slowness is cool and all, but it just doesn't last long enough be default. Also, unless there is another Survivor in that exact area, the coughing is pointless. No one is just going to randomly throw bottles around.
However, he is excellent at shutting down pallet throws. I just did that about two weeks ago. A very stereotypical toxic Claudette (prestige and all) was standing at a pallet, healing herself and clicking her flashlight at me. I threw a tonic at her then dashed at her. I can also happily say they missed their DS. When they got off the hook, I found them again, hit them down, and they rage-quit.
Outside of this though, the Kenneth/Jeffrey has next to no usability. I only play him for dailies. Luckily, his daily is so easy that you don't need skill at it (looking at you Sally/Nurse)
So yeah... I stand for this, but I'm not sure if it would be enough. Anna will always be better.
His perks are good though (well, two perks anyway, I personally don't see much use in Coulrophobia)

Heres the thing? if clown had my buff, he could hit wide spred and not need to worry about a direct hit like huntress. he would not only find survivors by throwing his tonic in places, but he would also render the into a weaker state. This isn't meant to be a top tier buff, this is to make him unique, and add something new.

Honestly I like the devs rework for DS.. but I wouldnt mind if the obsession only got off.. if all survivors can do what the obsession can with DS what's the actual point of the obsession... we've got rancor.... which threw point still stands that you shouldn't as a killer have to run a perk in order to counter said perk (until the nerf for DS comes)

Of course you would like the rework the dev's came up with, because you didn't main Laurie.
But the rework they have considered is trash honestly, its not changing the fact that everyone can use it.

If only the obsession could free them selves, and anyone else who ran the perk too could only stop the killer for a few extra seconds, that would be fair and more accurate to the movie.
Even so your right you shouldn't need to use up a perk slot to counter one perk that only one person might have.

(Also if your maining killer, try generator camping, its a non toxic, fun and fair way to play if your having some trouble)

  • @Bastion said:
all i want to see from DS is it doesnt work when you are "full Health" by this i mean you cant use it until you have been hooked once. this makes a Mori a complete counter to DS but so is juggling. but at least there is some counterplay to DS not just a free escape for anyone whos not a potato that cant hit a skill check...

If the dev's used your nerf,I'm sure you'd still complain because that wouldn't change much. Smart survivors would save D-strike for getting hooked a second or third time anyways. And you wouldn't have a mori on hand all the time, so theres whats wrong with your mori idea.
    Though would be cool

  • @HP150 said:

Ok, let's use your logic. "Franklin's Demise" was only used once in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie. So the perk should only be allowed to be used once per trial and only on one survivor? That's not making the perk movie accurate or fair for either side, that's just making a perk poorly designed.

DS needs to be nerfed, reworked, or removed, but your idea is terrible in terms of making it "fair" for both sides. You should make the perk accurate to a point, but not if it means massively limiting its use like your DS logic or it's logic applied to other perks, like Franklin's Demise for example.

So you think Franklin's Demise is poorly designed and needs a nerf?.....Really?.....Thats whats wrong with it?......

    next

get the idea that "D-strike can be removed" out of your head, its stayin buddy. Not everyone runs it anyways (Reworked and Nerf are fine, because it can still be fair )

Seeing as you might not one of those gripey killers, hows this then?

    Once per match
If you are the killer's obsession, you have 2 choices, you can either:
land the skill check to escape the killer's grasp while stunning them for 3/ 3 and half/ 4 seconds. (But leaves you in the broken status for 60/50/40 seconds)
    Or
cause the killer to drop a survivor while stunning them for "Said Time" (but gives you exhaustion for 60/50/40 seconds. If you are already exhausted then you will have more time added on.
    But
If you are not the obsession, then if you land the skill check you will slow down the killer's carrying speed for "said time" (The killer's carring speed will be decreased to the speed of a crouching survivor).

This is more fair then my last suggestion, cannot deny that, but honestly I don't care wheather or not you like it at this point.

  • I knoooooooooow that! Someone pointed it out during a discussion and I thought the dev's made a pointless nerf, thats why I said they should fix it.

Leatherface chainsaw's Franklin, causing him to drop his flashlight as he dies (see: the perk icon and name). This perk was specifically nerfed post-release to not allow it to activate on chainsaw hits. Why you would drop a flashlight from a hammer hit as opposed to being eviscerated by a chainsaw, I have no idea.

I knoooooooooow that! Someone pointed it out during a discussion and I thought the dev's made a pointless nerf, thats why I said they should fix it. Make it accurate to movie. I have been hit with Frank's Demises and have lost my item before, what I was saying was I don't think it will make a difference if the chainsaw made you drop your item and the dev's should fix that.

As for the DS change.... that ain't it. If it were up to me the perk would be deleted and replaced. But either way, having a perk be outright useless because 1 of your 3 teammates decided to take it as well is the opposite of fun. Granted there has never been anything fun about DS in the first place, I'd like to see RNG in this game minimized.

I'm sorry what are you saying exactly? I suggested the idea to make D-strike Accurate to the movie and fair for killer, but you don't like that idea? but your saying it wouldn't be fun if my suggestion became real? Look over your comment and try again.

Heres what I said Since you missed my point:
Laurie's perk is based off the part where she stabs the Shape after he tries to kill her.
In the horror movie Halloween (which you haven't seen apperantly)
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vFwCC7r92OA

But the thing is, Laurie was the only one who stabs Micheal. All of her friends died and they didn't have anything to fight back with.
My suggestion would make it so the killer would only have to worry about one person landing the skill check (You know if they ran said perk) while anyone who brought it along with them doesn't get anything because they are not the obsession. And it would become movie accurate.
(I forgot to mention it would also give the user exhastion,)

Me personally, I have started maining killer recently, and I hardly see anyone running the perk. NOW I KNOW I'll see the rage for it soon enough, but I have felt the rage for it even though I was to busy laughing.

There were 2 survivors in the match after the exit gates were opened, but they decided to mess around.
Nea was looping me, and I thought Blood lust is kicking in, you better get to the gates. She D-striked me after I downed her, but I would have killed her if it wasn't for borrowed time.
But even after the match ended the players said they were sorry for being toxic. (Even if they were, all they did was just give me more points and a good laugh)

That's not the point. The point is that to get a 25% speed increase (which I think is a modest progression increase), the Killer would have to be on the other side of the map, and not even the Hillbilly can traverse that much terrain in time to find the unhooked or rescuer.

    Oh okay

Never mind, I'm an idiot. I was making calculations for 0.5%/m, for some reason. At 2%/m, the Killer would have to be a little over 32 meters away from the hook, and for 50%, 45 meters. This may actually need to be reduced to 1%/m, rather than increased. I'll fix my posts to reflect that.

Alright, also your good, we all make some mistakes

It would make nurse and billy more op since they can leave, get the faster progression and quickly come back to the hook if survivor gets rescued. Should be more than 20 meters to make it work

Actually both of you have good points
What if for Billy and Nurse, said range was longer? to prevent just coming back asap to down again.

I don't think this would be necessary. A tweak of the percentage would be enough. Also, keep in mind that to reach just 25% increased speed, at a 2%/m increase, the Killer would have to be 70 meters away from the hook. It's not as OP as you think.

Well I didn't say they Bill/Nurse had to on the other side of the map, just maybe like 3 or 4 extra meters (From what you said) away from the hook

  • Also Looping can be fixed I think the devs could honestly just make looping area's/ maps that favor survivors, have blood lust activate a lot quicker in said maps/ areas

  • This idea with my suggestion would work

  • Rank is pointless to be honest.
Like seriously, there is no reward for it, and I've seen what wanting to get higher up in ranks does to people.
I think the devs should just remove it all together, as it is a source of salt toxicness, and rage.

  • So what your saying is, DBD isn't really a horror game because no one gets scared?
This actually makes me think of a lot of things actually.
I personally don't consider DBD a horror game anymore persay, I think of it as a hide and tag seek game with monsters. (Though when I learn I'm playing against micheal, leather face or pig, I get scared, I can't handle the jump scare)

Or...Heres a more cruel and simple solution.

If a killer is reported camping, then for 24 hours, every lobby said "camping killer" makes, will have a warning in their lobby (that survivors will be able to see) that says "CAMPER WARNING this killer has been reported a camper be cautious". (IT WILL NOT say what killer the person was playing as, just that they have been reported)
This will warn survivors that the killer they are about to play against is or might be a camper and they can choose to leave the lobby to save time ,avoid toxicness, and just avoid someone with no skill.
A way to shorten the timer is to play matches without camping.

This is much better then getting temporaryily banned, because then you can still play the game, but you have that little warning floating around warning people for 24 hours, everyone might not even play with you.

(there should be acception though of needing to do some daily rituels, but only that much)

NOTE: SURVIVORs if this did come in the game, we need to not abuse it honestly there is a difference between camping and just near by.

I know lobby dodging is annoying, and yes should be punushed in some way. but some people do it to avoid the high ping rate, or because their friend was kicked. but even so dodging to many lobbies should be able to be punished.

The gap between "killers are weaker then survivors" is slowly closing, and at this point I'm starting to see from watching vids and my own personal experience as survivor and killer, you can win weather you die or escape/kill someone or have most of the group escape you. I never watched his movies (Nor do I plan too) But it could work, like make a map where the world is bigger then you. and make chucky bigger, like the entity made him the size of the killers so he could sacrifice them.

Idk what part of this is confusing you. It's a waste of time and money for the devs to work on a game mode that is only going to be played by a small fraction of the community. It's extremely illogical for them to ever entertain your idea. They are already extremely busy designing everything, balancing everything, and bug fixing everything. They have no free time to work on anything that doesn't benefit them. It will never happen and you need to accept that now.

I didn't say they have to work on this NOW!! I jut wish this would be somthing they could work on in the future

Anyone can get to the upper ranks and win if the have skill or try hard enough.

The sprint burst bit, think all the devs did was give sprint burst a buff. I can control sprint burst and use it when ever I want to use it, which made Lithe out classed for me. Lithe should have an adjustment where
it'll activate when you vault over something, even if your not in a chase.

You are awarded xp after each game that goes towards your player level.

    Oh okay.
So I guess its either a quidsidence, or maybe a internet problem?
Because I lost a few matchs and or lost connection, and somehow my rank stayed at 17

You player level, next to survivor/killer rank icon?

Yeah my player level, next to my survivor rank icon. ( I'm slowly beginning to main killer but I don't know if that has the same problem yet)

Do you maybe know whats going on?

  • Don't listen to survivor mains
I may have had a little tough time reading this, but you tried and I think there is a way to make it balanced.

It's just going to take a lot.

DS should never have been put in the game in the first place

Well then the halloween DLC shouldn't exist because I wouldn't be playing this game.
I honestly played this game because of Laurie (Not the perk to be honest)
It needs a fair nerf is all, but knowing a lot of other people, they probably still going to complain.

  • FINALLY SOMEONE AGREES WITH ME!!
I feel the exact same way, I have suggested this idea before.

It’d half to still have some hefty camera restrictions on killer; having 3rd person would almost instantly kill all evasion tactics in a chase. That’s a no no. Identity V already tried this; experienced killers never lose a survivor.

Now experienced survivors loop the killer for ages because of 3rd person camera
But I guess thats a big YES instead of a no?

ARE YOU FOLLOWING ME? I SEE YOU COMMENT ON ANYTHING I POST NOW!!
Also this thing I made is long dead.

  • THIS IS AWESOME!!

The normal 1vs4 gamemode has enough issues already, better they focus on one mode before doign such stuff

Well then how did somebody do a 13 survivor one killer beta thingy?
There are some issues in the game I know, but I mean I said they should test it.

Testing costs resources and we need those on other places.

    DCing is still not punished.
Consoles dont even have a report/bann system yet.
Game balance, especially SWF matchmaking is ridiculous
    Countless bugs and exploits

Do I need to continue the list?^^

Do you like the idea or not?
I understand time, work, ect, I understand there are problems already in the game. I'm asking if anyone else likes these ideas.
    Not whats wrong with them.

  • This seems a bit dabateble, but thinking about it.
I think it would only make sense, at least for advancing in ranks, it gets harder and harder.
Perhaps it should get easier for the killer, maybe to make killers a little stronger they could get 5 perk slots, and 3 addons. (but for something like nurse for example, you can't get like 10 blinks)

I do have the perfect idea to help with gen rushing, and its in the perk DYING LIGHT

My idea for dying light is
After hooking your obsession, survivors suffer an action speed penalty, until 2/2/3 generators have been repaired
Notes: your obsession doesn't need to die or stay on the hook for the perk to stay active. If anything you want them to get saved, so after the gens get repaired (assuming the survivors don'y get caught first) you can hook your obsession a second time to slow them down.

  • This is to help prevent hook camping killers get what they want.
If there were not any hook campers well then this wouldn't be here You can thank camping killers for this ;)

I have moved on from survivor to killer, and I got 2 to 4 kills for my early serious matches, sure its not easy but its not impossible.
I don't need to hook camp, when I have a more fun and stronger tactic then a cheap luck base strat.

True survivors are not entitled a free save, but Killers don't deserve a free kill either.

Its fine if you are a casual player, but please refrain from doing statements about balance in this case.
There are people taht wanna play competitively too

I'm sorry are you saying because I'm a casual play, means I can't offer statemeants for balance? only competitive players can do that?
And competitive players deserve an un balanced game so they can win?
Because thats what it sounds like.

BUT Thats probably not what you meant, So perhaps you could clarify that for me.

Funny that you mention that, because right now the competitive players have to deal with an insane unbalance and the casual players cry for even more killer nerfs  (no insult btw)

You can't insult me with that because I have ideas to help out killers like my DYING LIGHT suggestion
    DYING LIGHT:
After hooking your obsession survivors will suffer a speed penalty toward Repair, healing, and sabotaging by 15/22/27% unitl 2/2/3 Generators have been repaired
(Its an "anti camping" version of the terrible Dying light we have now)

And besides, I haven't asked for any killer nerfs.
