It is possible.

I finished the challenge too. Make sure NOT to hit those great skill checks!
-
I agree that swf on comms can ruin the experience. Even as a survivor, when I’m partied with a swf often it’s a miserable experience. It took me so long to realise why no one else was getting noticed and caught and it’s because they’re on comms and they lead the killer away from each other, often into me. Also they always find each other to heal and work on gens.
Not all swfs are like that of course but when they are it sucks.
-
I find it hard to find survivors on saloon. When they hide in the bushes it’s just a snooze fest. I’ve actually escaped from dead dawg very often.
Maybe you’re just good at the game. I mean the saloon, not the game. You know what I mean.

Thanks for the feedback so far guys, I thought i was going to get flamed tbh!
Oh I think Haddonfield is currently known as the most survivor sided map in the game. Pretty sure they are going to rework it at some point.
On another note, is Badham preschool still in rotation? I haven’t seen that map for months.
-
Wow I wasn’t expecting all of this when I opened this thread.
I’d just like to throw in my piece though and that’s that I am fine if they include a lgbtq+ character into the game, and glad for the community if they do so.
I guess there are many out there who politicise the issue and jump on the bandwagon and such and virtue signal and all that, and I guess we can argue about all that. But I’d just like to say that I am perfectly ok with lgbtq+ people making themselves known in my community and welcome it in the game.

He doesn't give any actual tutorials or gameplay, just vague statements about how amazing clown secretly is despite his forum name.
Truth is clown is just SLIGHTLY better than he was before. The reload time reduction was much needed. Yellow bottles...yeah, most often not worth using. Hell, even Otz struggled in his video to justify using them even if he was genuinely trying to explain the proper time to use them. They have extremely niche uses that require the stars to align to get proper use from for a underwhelming speed buff.
Which is all a shame because a lot of us where expecting a big rework, not some small buffs to his already underwhelming power.
Aww that's too bad. I love playing Clown but yeah he is a little underwhelming. I'm also pretty new so that's definitely a contributing factor but that's why I'm looking for tips or gameplay videos on him.
I definitely think he is viable, just not that easy to use, especially because I play on console and aiming bottles while moving is a little harder. But I am still learning so I won't say conclusively whether he's good or not, just that I like him.
I did watch some Fungoose videos on him though, and this was before the rework. But man, just watching him play killer stresses me out. He tracks so many things and keeps so much in mind. So Clown I think is definitely viable if you play in that manner. It's just...you know...I have a life and other interests and I'm not gonna sell my soul to this game. I'll get better at him in the time to come but man I'm not sure the investment is worth it just to be good as the killer. I'll still hop on once in awhile to play him and get better but that will take some time I guess.

No. That’s not true. I still see Docs that constantly waste Static Blast in areas that have no survivors, and just spamming Shock willy nilly, often missing.
So there are still tonnes of players that just don’t get Doc. They get creamed because they don’t know how to use Madness as a time wasting tool, or how to properly use Shock as an anti loop.
The truth is that Clown has always been a little obscure. The correct way to use Tonics is the least intuitive way to most that pick him up. The Antidote isn’t any different. It’s either going to take awhile for some to wrap their head around it’s optimal, devastating use, or they just won’t get it.
Tutorial pretty please? :)

Breaking news: Survivor upset about being hit
They should just implement a system in the game where the survivor gets to vote on whether the hit counts or not. If the game registers a successful hit the game pauses and the survivor gets a vote, M1 for yes it was fair, M2 for no it was not fair. The game then either allows or disallows the hit and then carries on.
I second this. *aggressively spams m2*
-
I like going against them. My main problem with them is Victor’s tracking. He can hit you no matter what you do sometimes.
-
Nice :) Thanks for the heads up friend.
-
Haha I love this post. I’m more a survivor player who has been playing killer more recently since before the last patch, and it’s interesting to hear a killer main’s perspective on playing survivor.
Very true indeed, but I do have fun playing survivor. Items can be interesting, like if you do a sabo build. But yes, killers can go out of their way to make your time miserable and skill does not guarantee your win.
But I still prefer survivor because of the team aspect, because you don’t have complete control and need to depend on others. I find it uninspiring when you’re completely invulnerable and in control and need nobody else. That was preferable years ago when I was younger and more headstrong and wanted to be able to do everything on my own.
But now as I am more grown up I find it more interesting to learn to get along, deal with difficult people and to depend on others. And it is more of a challenge and unpredictable.
Ok this is becoming a Ted talk, time to move on. But yes survivor more interesting(to me), killer not so much. But I still play killer sometimes to see how the other side fares.
-
I think someone did say killer ones appear more often, but that was about a month ago. I’m not sure they fixed it since then, because recently it has been 50/50 for me. But a month ago yes, more killer ones.
Also, wish you get well soon.
-
Haha! Tis’ funny.
-
My Switch charging adapter broke and I haven’t been able to play for 2 days! :cries:
Hopefully my replacement comes today and I can play again :)
-
I’m actually not sure what people are giving you crap for. If they were indeed trying to bully you, once I’ve secured my win I’m gonna make sure I win even if they bleed out.
If I leave them downed, I only gotta worry about unbreakable. But if I pick them up, I gotta worry about them Kobe-ing, deliverance, power struggle, flip flop, not reaching a hook in time, and STILL I have to worry about unbreakable.
If they were truly a bully squad, I would slug them and leave them there to make sure I won while taking the least amount of chances. Them having to wait is just happenstance.
In other cases, I would take more of a chance by hooking them because it’s so unfun for them and me to leave them on the floor. But if they were indeed bullying, I’ll do what I need to make sure I don’t get bullied, even if they have lie on the floor and I have to wait for 4 minutes.
I think the OP was just trying to protect himself, not be toxic, and just so happens the bully squad got served and he came to share that karmic justice was served after all and we can all bask in the glory.
Thats how I interpreted it anyway.
Also, he felt bad the one solo queue guy had to be wrapped up in all this. I don’t think he was trying to be toxic.
-
I think a good user friendly solo queue build is Kindred/Bond, Spine chill, BT and an exhaustion perk.
I prefer Bond over Kindred because I don’t run self care and it helps me find my teammates so I can heal or heal them. And it’s still good if you need to hook save, not as good when you need hook saving though.
BT is always great for hook saves.
If you want to be more of a team player you can run Prove Thyself, perhaps with Better Together.
If you want to go totem hunting you can use Detective’s Hunch and Inner Strength for healing.
Currently I run Aftercare, Desperate Measures, Empathy and Lithe and that’s a lot of fun.
-
I’ve had experiences of teammates deliberately sabotaging each other also. While it’s not the same thing as hacking, thereby depriving the killer of his/her win, there are some pretty petty people playing this game right now, and I find this behaviour to be on the rise right now.
-
Alert and aftercare. Both are sooo good.

I normally don’t stick around pgc but someone said the hitting on hook was not necessary and they said they were being toxic because ds was being nerfed.
Ah ok. I'm not sure that makes sense but ok.

Personally I’d go with Kate, but to each their own.

Oo. So they actually admit they're toxic?

As a killer, I've been trying more to be more fair to survivors. Not tunneling/minimal camping, etc. Even the last survivor I may give hatch too if they don't wiggle. But if they wiggle they go on hook lol

I just disabled my messages. And I can't even watch anything dbd related because everyone is toxic. Whenever I try I just get annoyed how disrespectful people are to others. It is insane.
Yup. It's shocking to watch people who are completely ok with being toxic. Very distressing.

Absolutely!
I had one game where a Dwight started running in and out of one locker next to another survivor doing a gen. The killer went to them and the other surv hid in a locker. Dwight pointed at the locker to tell the killer where the other one was hiding and got downed and bled to death while crawling around following the rest of us to tell the killer in which fire tion we were.
- Killers DC'ing if they saw red envelopes and all survs getting - 1
- Survivors running around doing nothing and just vaulting around others with gens to alert the killer
-Being left to die on first hook because no one came to unhook
- Another one where three survivors where just crouching in the school patio between 2 pallets and stayed there the entire game.
And so many more.
I was talking to friends yesterday saying I think some killers are taking advantage of the current situation and being nasty as hell. I mean, why play if you don't get any more than 10,000 blood points and the match lasts 3 minutes? Unless you just play to screw people up...
I did a build explicitly for this type of killer and still get ratted by another survivor, that's just not on.
I found two I believe were SWF in another game, both with keys that did nothing and waited for the other two to get 2 gens done so they could look for the hatch. One got hooked and taken to the basement, DC'd on first hook so they other one ran towards the killer to get sacrificed too.

I've been 5-bagged by fellow survivors while on hook!
I was doing a gen at cold wind, minding my own business, a survivor runs to the gen, makes it explode and I went away to hide, the killer comes, this idiot who knows where I am, starts running with the killer behind to take them to me, I get downed, hooked and this evil player comes to t-bag me instead of unhooking me.
Holy crap that is awful.

It was originally meant to be played that way.

Yup pretty much all of this. Swf seems really unfair. This is the way the game was meant to be played.
Challenging and unpredictable yup.
No friends to play with yup.
-
I made a post about this just yesterday, asking if anyone has noticed increasing toxicity. I’ve had more games recently where survivors go out of their way to sabotage the team.
What you described happened to me once where a David threw every pallet I was running towards and nearly got me sacrificed. I suspect he even led the killer to me through loud sound notifications. The Myers chasing me finally noticed when the David threw shack pallet in my face and the Myers downed me. He didn’t hook me and looked for the survivor but didn’t know who it was. Long story short, I finally escaped because the Myers didn’t hook me on my last hook but he used my body to bait out the other survivors so I just narrowly made it.
Guess I’m not alone in experiencing this recently.

I read it perfectly fine? My comment was in regards to you being downed lol. The thing is, you don’t know why the killer played the way they did. I’ve seen teammates get tunnelled and wanted to help, only to then find out they were using OoO or teabagging the killer, so they deserved it.
Next time, just leave. There’s no point wasting yours and the killers time just to taunt them at the exit gate. It’s not that deep.
Mm this is a good point. I don’t like seeing my teammates get camped or tunneled either but sometimes it’s impossible to say if they did something to deserve it. Most killers in this game are just good people trying to have fun, not ruin someone else’s experience.
I’ll still try to save someone getting camped or tunneled though but if they did deserve it, shame on them.
-
I don’t think he is the weakest killer in the game, though probably not the strongest either. I play mostly survivor but more killer recently. Don’t know if clown is strong but I have fun when I play him and that’s what matters I guess.
-
I just started playing 4 months ago too and yeah I complain about this game at all because I love it. There is so much to love about this game I just want it to do well.
I just prestiged my first survivor and I kind of like having to be creative with whatever perks I can get. It can be kind of hard when you rank up too fast though, and get put into games where the other players have vast amounts of hours more than you. I’m not sure the grind is the problem for me, but there not being enough players to fill the ranks or matchmaking issues but yeah something needs to be looked at, though I don’t know what. I’m not sure the grind would be so bad if I didn’t have to sweat if I got matched with people around my skill level, or if there were more players in the game, since I like using meme builds anyway.
But yeah I love the game and don’t know how to fix the issues, nor do I know if BHVR has control over some of these things, but I still love it!
-
Congratulations :)

Thanks for this! Those are some really nice cosmetics! May I know where these codes are advertised? Is it on their discord or something?

Another 2 games in a row where people just dc-ed before first gen! Alright I guess people are just not feeling it. I’ll give DbD a break today and go for a walk or something. Hope people start to feel better.

I have noticed survivors body blocking me a bit recently while I’m being chased. It might be out of selfishness ie. I don’t need it, but I want the pallet/window, or it might be just be carelessness.
Yeah I’ve had that experience too now that you mention it. Again not often, just that once, I heard the terror radius but didn’t know where the killer was and was waiting in a jungle gym. When I heard it get closer I vaulted the window. A Nea came running by aiming for the same window. Apparently she was being chased and I took the window. She got the pallet but she still bodyblocked me right after the vault, very aggressively. I was like, “what is she doing!?” Of course I assumed first of all that it might have just been an accident, but she then killed herself on first hook so I’m pretty sure she was pissed.
But that I can still understand, even though it’s abit of an overreaction. People seem really touchy recently is all.
-
I’d like to know too. Jk, actually most Pigs I encounter don’t do this. It was just the one that I met today that tunneled me off hook even though no one has a RBT on them and I do and there was no good reason to. I just concluded they probably weren’t very good at the game.
-

Bith sides are toxic. And it was like since forever. I see a lot of toxic killers and survivors in my games.
Yeah. I don’t see a lot of toxicity generally. I’m sure both sides are toxic and I’ve seen some toxicity for sure but man these were so unprovoked. I see tunneling killers and tbagging survivors but I don’t really necessarily consider that toxic. The killers just want to win and the survivors are trying to provoke me to chase them. Sometimes survivors tbag at exit gates (when I play killer) but I can still understand because I happen to be playing hag or they felt I didn’t spread enough aggro. But this was such an overreaction.
-
@NoOneKnowsNova said:
I've definitely noticed an increase in toxicity on the survivor side, if it be something as small as tbagging after the killer had a bad game or body blocking teammates/teaming with the killer. However there have been many nicer players too, although this could be because there's now a clearer distinction between throwing players and nice players just not on their A game.
Ah yeah that is true. Most of my teammates have been nice. I had some really nice teammates on my subsequent games too. It was just really shocking to see someone go out of their way to sabotage their team. Like something must be going wrong in their life for them to take it out in a video game.

Yum I just got plague too. Thanks for all the tips guys. Really appreciate it.

I see a lot of people either bashing new clown saying his new bottles aren't effective, and a few people saying that they are, but with no proof to back it up. So I decided to play a round and record it for once. It isn't the best gameplay I have done with new clown, but I think it showcases how much more efficient clown is now compared to what he once was. Hopefully this gameplay will help people take it into their own hands, and this is how new clown was supposed to be played as. Sure there are more things you can do with his new bottles, but I thought for a while his new bottles would suck, but boy I proved myself wrong. It's crazy how good he can be now with some set ups.
Thank you for the gameplay. Very cool and I wanna try it too.

What? The DS and OoO we nerfs haven’t even gone live yet!
-
I’d say Kate too. Windows is a better perk than what Yui has.
But Kate’s Windows of Opportunity plus Yui’s Any Means Necessary is just value town!
-
I’m glad they tried to fix things though.
-
Hello fellow Switch players :)
I had no issues being stuck on loading screen.
Hope everyone is well!
-
Fungoose, but just videos, I don’t usually like to watch streams.
And Uncharted too. Imagine!
-
Oh... oh Oni specifically? I had a match against an Oni who had especially long range. Most of the other matches were within reason but Oni hits me from miles away. Maybe that’s it?
-
I play on the Switch and latency was fine after the patch.. initially. Now I’m getting hit with a ten foot pole from some killers.
-
Ooh an Until Dawn chapter? That would be fun.
-
I’m in purple ranks now, used to be red before the bug. I don’t mind depips because I don’t mind not ranking up, but playing among purple ranks again is very different from playing in red ranks. Not saying all red ranks are great, but in purple ranks I’ve seen 2 people go down from not mending in 2 days. There’s a great difference in skill. For context I play on the Switch with cross play off.
I don’t know if ranks more accurately show skill now, but survivors have been booking it once exit gates are open now. A lot of people don’t even bother saving. Not sure that is representative of skill.

A ratings advice, and age recommendation has nothing to do with whether people choose to be jerks and bully people.
And others don’t just have to put up with it. The right thing to do is to always speak up, and fight for a change of culture and attitude.
If people throughout history just put up with things because “that’s just the way things are, get over it”, we’d still live in a world of segregation, slavery, no women in the work place, and other awful, archaic things not fitting for modern society.
Bullying does NOT belong in online gaming. It needs to change. It can’t change if everyone’s attitude is “just put up with it”.
You muh man, are a hero.
