  • It’s been a difficult year. This thread is so long I didn’t read everything, but good you decided to turn off post game chat. If people are rude to you there is no need to read it, especially if you’re having a hard time already. Just come on the game and enjoy yourself. No need to be bashed by other people. They might be having a hard time but they’ll get over what happens in game no problem. They’re just venting.

Regardless, others here have said why some people don’t like Spirit, but equally true is that no matter what you do, some survivors will complain. As long as you’re having fun, and not spreading toxicity, I don’t think you have anything to be afraid of. Let them be angry and then let them get over it. You don’t have to be involved.

Hope this year is better for you.

Edit: Ooh I see some people recommending streamers to watch. I personally really like Fungoose, but haven’t watched his streams only his videos. He’s very informative and educational and seems to me like an all around nice guy. If you don’t find anyone else check him out!

  • You mean healthy to dying right? Not injured to dying state? Because of broken emblems I’m now in purple ranks and I am actually seeing some survivors going down because they escaped a chase and didn’t mend.

  • I think as someone said, the unbroken emblem is broken. So it’s harder to stay at red ranks.

  • The survivor emblems are broken atm and I deranked to purple ranks, and the teammates are really god awful.

I just suicided on first hook as I saw a Cheryl walking within 5m of my hook, forward, backwards, forward, backwards, while the killer was already off chasing someone else. Not to mention she is only 5m away from the hook, you might as well save at that point.

Get me out of this game right now!

  • Inb4 someone goes “it’s latency not hitboxes!” :angry face:

  • Hah this sometimes works. When you break LoS, do something no sane person would do, like stopping and crouching at that corner. Or making some tea, or getting yourself a snack.

Hey even if the Nurse catches you, you made yourself a sandwich amirite?

No but seriously, sometime you just do what no sane person would do and keep the Nurse guessing, and then the next time you act sane again and it gives you that much more time to get away. This works sometimes but when it does it’s really funny(for you and for the Nurse hopefully).

It IS a big deal! And the simple fact that you don't seem to realize it says long on how little you understand what's going on here.

What they are saying is that the killer has a way easier time to hit them, which ISN'T TRUE!

The killer has to do the very same legit hits than before, survivors ARENT easier to hit! it's just that there's now a big delay between the moment where the killer hit the survivor and when the hit register on the survivor side.

By pretending it's a hitbox problem you are just pushing the idea that it's just a case of the killer getting a massive advantage, which will just increase the already pretty bad mood of the community.

If you can't even realize that, maybe you should just stop posting altogether.

So yes it is a desync issue, but the killer does have a massive advantage. I play on high ping as a survivor usually so I know. At a ping of 100ms, by the time I see the killer round the corner on my screen, the killer already has rounded the corner for a second and has been walking to me for a second now. On my screen I reacted the moment I saw the killer and made for the window. On the killer’s screen he turned saw me had 1 second to approach and THEN I reacted.

That is a very very big advantage. (Supposing I got my example right)

To the killer, all survivors are just reacting slowly(as much as by 2 secs at 200ms ping) but to survivors the killer has extended range.

  • So I just thought I’d put my 2 cents in. On the Switch version which I play, the survivor animations actually look fine. The idle animation and the running while injured could be worked on, but the rest are ok. I didn’t know what everyone was complaining about until I saw a video of PC gameplay, and yeah that was horrendous. The animations on PC look clunky and unnatural, but on the Switch version they actually look ok.

The UI changes didn’t they say it’s because of new features they were going to implement for new killers? I think they said that. In order to implement certain new features for new killers they needed to change the UI ahead of time.

You're either the luckiest person alive or just extremely oblivious because they are god awful right now.

Actually just like to say on the Switch version that I play on hitboxes are actually fine, and I feel might have improved a bit. Maybe he’s playing on the Switch.

Edit: just read my own post and thought I should clarify, on the Switch version hitboxes are as per normal, maybe slightly better sometimes. They’re not always fine, just like before the update.

If only we could read their minds of sort, they probably are currently thinking about giving Freddy an overheat mechanic.

Those extendo-arms need some oilin’ amirite!? :D

  • I usually get over it by the time the next match loads in. And if survivor queues are really long, I play killer. As someone who has no problem complaining about my teammates, I’m thankful at least that today I had some good matches! Though we all got killed I had no problems with my teammates, so thank God for that!

If survivor queues aren’t long, it’s usually not a big deal to move onto the next game. If they are long and I don’t feel like playing killer, well I’ve been playing Hades and going back to Witcher 3. Those are pretty good.

    @SocialDistomancy said:

the game is in a horrible state right now, I got a survivor match in less than half a minute and 2 dudes dc in it with no gens completed so it's not even worth doing anything other than starting it up for the daily 50k and punching in the loot codes right now lol. I would rather play a social justice warrior feminist made game that is constantly insulting me for being a white straight man than dead by daylight right now, I would honestly have more fun with that as long as it was so ridiculous and insane that i could constantly get a laugh out of it. you can't laugh at how busted dbd is any more, it's just plain trash so keep an eye out for A Way to be Dead whent hat game comes out since it looks much more interesting anyways. as last guy I hid int he basement locker and went afk cause f*ck it. If he finds me he finds me if he don't he don't if I get banned idgaf any more 4 years later this game is still dogsh*t and it's always gonna be lol

Haha your description of the game was hella funny!

  • I noticed better ping on the first day. Hits (as survivor) seemed more fair than usual too. Played killer and didn’t seem like hits were unfair either. This is on Switch btw.

But not sure what they did, the network connection and hit detection is worse today, worse than usual even, which was already pretty bad for me. Now it’s really unplayable.

  • Well I sometimes lose count of how many hooks I've gotten all game. I try not to tunnel and try to chase each survivor. Usually a lot of them escape and I forget I actually got like 8 hooks that game. So yeah 8 hooks, 1 kill 3 escapes, not bad play I would say. If only the survivors somehow didn't find the need to t-bag at the gate that would be great.

  • So just to update, many players dislike the new patch, animations and so forth, but on the Switch version this patch actually fixed a lot of things. Graphics are more crisp, lighting is better, I can actually see where I am going and can see my own character. Hits seem a lot more fair, at least on my(survivor) end. My ping has actually gotten better too.

So at least the Switch version is running better. Now to fix everything else.

  • @tomas11403 said:

I personally despise the new movement, I feel limited by it when I am in chase in terms of mechanical setbacks, and in my opinion it looks unnatural and strange, especially when a survivor turns around quickly.

I really don't understand how people can prefer this clunky movement to old movement, which was very smooth with virtually no issues. I would love to hear why specifically you guys prefer it if you wouldn't mind sharing. (I'm not attacking anyone, just curious)

Hi so I thought I’d give a go at answering your question, see if I can clarify to myself to why I at least don’t mind the animation changes.

The animations transition more seamlessly into one another. Game looks more real, lifelike. That doesn’t mean some animations aren’t awkward, but you can see there are more frames to the movement.

I don’t see the strange stuttering or clunky movement other people are talking about. Again I play on the Switch, and movement has always been clunky. So it really hasn’t changed on the Switch.

The default standing animation is taller but thinner. I like how it is easier to peer over corners without exposing yourself. It seems easier to immerse for me. Some people say the survivors look like they’re jogging and I agree. But survivors have always been jogging I feel. The speed at which they run, it never felt like they were booking it to me.

Overall I wouldn’t say I prefer the new animations to the old one. The old ones were pretty good already and I had no qualms with them. I just have no qualms with the new ones either and can appreciate some things about them.

The most important thing though is that it affects peoples’ gameplay experience. It doesn’t seem to affect mine on the Switch so I have no problem with them, but I think that is people’s main complaint.

  • I like the new animations mostly. The healthy standing animation I agree is a little scary and the injured running one looks like they need to poop I agree with too. But the rest seem ok to me.

  • So I’ve had about 5 games now, all as survivor soloq. I understand what some people are talking about, animations and hud problems etc. But so far I too have not been having much problems.

For context I play on Switch Lite

    The pluses so far:

    (1) Game runs much smoother. No frame drops that I’ve seen. Even went against a Freddy and nightmare realm was ok.

    (2) Lighting looks better, game looks more crisp. I can see in front of me now. So far haven’t got stuck on invisible debris. My eyes used to hurt from having to squint to see in very dark environs like midwich. Now my eyes don’t hurt.

    (3) Hitboxes are the same for me, bad. But I’ve always had bad ping. For some reason my ping is slightly better now, and I think the hits feel more fair too. But they’re still pretty bad.

    (4) The hud gives more information. I like being able to tell which survivor is on my team and their hook states. I definitely understand that many people see this as a step backward and an eyesore(literally). And I can understand that. I personally don’t mind and appreciate more information but I can see where other people are coming from. And to be fair, I AM playing DBD as a mobile game.

    (5) Some animations I like. They look better from the back of the survivor. The healthy running animation is fine with me. The crawling one is ok with me too.

    Cons:

    (1) The standing animation IS really weird. It DOES look like Goku or something. I freaked out when I saw a shirtless David walking toward me.

    (2) The injured running animation is weird, I agree with most people. I’m not sure I mind that much though. I like the higher frequency of footsteps. Seems more urgent.

    (3) Father Campbell’s chapel looks more like a war zone. Just nitpicking here since I much prefer being able to see well on it.

    (4) I’m back to playing survivor since queue times are ok again and it is worse than I remember.

So all in all, after a handful of games this update seems ok with me. I’m not dismissing other peoples’ experiences with it, just giving my own experience so far on the Switch Lite.

My TV is rather small, about 24 zoll.

I tried the smallest scale for the HUD but it didn't help at all

That rhyme! And your username. You must be a linguistic wizard.

  • I just got in a game on Switch. So far one game as survivor only. I’m only speaking for my Switch experience but the game seems to run much more smoothly. The lighting seems better and although I’m not a big fan of the UI or some animations the game seems to be running smoother. Still too early for me to say anything conclusively though. Definitely need more playtime, especially after what others have said.

Edit: Also the graphics seem much more crisp. Easier to actually tell what is in front of me. Saw no problems with hit boxes yet but I only got in one chase so too early to tell.

  • I’ll tell you when I finally get a game.

  • Survivor queues as they are now, having 1 or 2 bad games might be all it takes. I’m having second thoughts about this game as I play it too. It seems to reward cowardly behaviour, survivors not taking aggro, wearing dark colours and blending all game, unhooking and then hiding, sandbagging teammates. This is actually how survivors win and escape. Not many people can actually survive long enough in a chase, so they just hide all game.

Doesn’t seem like fun for the killer or survivor. But that’s just my opinion I guess.

As a rank 2 survivor, would you be able to escape the killer if you were playing that role?

Yeah, yellow and red ranks are the only ones really consistent in my opinion. Only because yellow you're kind of in the middle at that point and red is almost always red and purple ranks. I'm a Rank 1 Killer and Rank 4 Survivor on switch (crossplay off) and I've probably only seen a few yellow and grey rank survivors (however when I do they are part of a very obvious swf).

Ah nice a fellow Switch player! Thanks I'll keep that in mind.

You'll be a toxic killer main in no time 😈

Yes yes! HAHA! I kind of understand why some killers camp, ngl. When gens pop like no one's business, and you can't even find a single survivor because they're all blending and you play clown with no mobility, yeah its tempting to just camp the one you actually see and catch.

  • Oo it worked. Thanks!

  • @MrPeanutbutter said:

Stealth is a major part of the game, and killers have perks/add-one to help them find hiding survivors. Not every survivor can be a pro looper. The friends I play with are pretty causal players who don’t have thousands of hours in the game. They’ll probably never be pro loopers, so stealth is the only viable option for them to have a chance. Don’t get upset for people playing the way they want to play as long as it’s not cheating or toxic. Figuring out how to find players who are hiding is part of learning how to play killer

Mm I can get behind this. I'm currently playing more killer than survivor but I've played more survivor overall. I don't like stealth gameplay both as a killer looking for stealthed survivors and survivor hiding around, though the more I play and read other people's opinions on the matter, the more its a toss up for me. But this, this I can get behind. Not everyone has the time to play this game and became a good looper, so stealth being an option for them is ok.

That's cool. I'm 140 hrs into the game and Doc was the first killer I leveled. Loved shocking a laughing and all that. Then moved to Spirit and Bubba and now I'm practicing Nurse. The mental reward for hitting your blinks is SOOOO satisfying that I'm gutting it out and working with her through all the 0k matches and I actually got my first 4k with her last night on Deathslinger's map. I'm rank 8 killer and loving it!

Wow nice :) I'm fairly new to the game too, started around 3 months ago now, but I played mainly survivor so its good to see someone else new playing mostly killer! I hear Nurse is really hard but I haven't tried her yet. I'd love to try Bubba though. Good luck in your matches and see you in the fog!

    @ChurchofPig said:

Personally, I think you're at a really good rank for matchmaking where matches are staying consistently around your rank. Just be aware and ready for what's to come when you play green ranks and higher.

Thank you :) I'm being matched consistently against purples already but so far they're mostly an adequate challenge. That being said, I haven't seen many DS/Unbreakable combos, only the occasional Dead Hard and BT. Then again I don't usually tunnel so I'm not very affected by some of these perks. But that might all change at higher ranks.

  • @JPA said:

At green ranks you do start to see a wide range of lobbies, but at purple ranks you will start consistently seeing teams which are almost entirely purple or red ranks. There is a big difference between rank 8 (purple) and rank 9 (green), at least in my experience (EU servers).

Thanks for your input :) I'll keep that in mind.

Welcome to the dark side. It's fun over here on Killer St. !

Thank you :) I love the rock version of the DBD song as Trapper, and the Clown version is great too! That's the next killer I'm levelling.

  • @Skullgrind said:

Thanks for sharing. Your experience mirrors my own when I started about a year ago as Killer. It gets drastically different from about rank 8 and down. I long for the fun ranks where you can mess around and have fun and maybe still win.

Higher ranks you run into the same 4 perks and often on every player. People ganging up on you so you can't even get 1 hook. Or you get a hook and they just unhook in your face and finish gens in your face and leave tbagging on the way.

Anyhow good luck and I hope to see ya in the fog! ✌️💀✌️

Ah ok I see. I do notice purple ranks are sometimes challenging and sometimes not. I look forward to seeing how the matches go. Just thought I'd put down my early experiences since it is a valuable data point. Then again, I'm kinda enjoying myself so no hurry to rank up either. Hah!

I'm pretty sure most balance changes aren't done out of venting.

People who think that the ones throwing tantrums on twitter, youtube, reddit or the forums are what cause changes are delusional. Sure, they can bring the dev's attention to the issue, but balance changes are ultimately done because after careful consideration BHVR realized they needed to be done.

If throwing a tantrum were all that were needed to get changes done DS would have been removed from the game ages ago. Same with camping and tunneling, those two are the biggest whines survivors make, been consistently that way for the past 4 years. All of those are still alive and well in the game.

Yeah sorry I didn’t make it clear. I don’t think balance changes are made because people vent either. Just worded it wrong. I think BHVR has been very reasonable thus far, albeit slow from what I hear.

As long as that remains the case I’m happy.

  • Yo I just got killed by a bumbling bill too! The kicker though was I was playing Meg. Haha!

  • I already use this to counter Doctor.

2 Cleanses is not always escapable. Depends a lot on the skill level of the killer and survivors.

There are times when no Undying and just Ruin is enough to kill everyone. I played a match earlier today with a Freddy using Ruin Undying Tinker and we couldn't even find the totem (Midwich hahah) and we couldn't even finish a single gen before all of us got killed. But Freddy didn't even need Undying we couldn't even deal with the first totem and we couldn't pop any gens because he was always there when he needed to be.

I agree that BHVR doesn’t favour either side. I’m ok with people venting their frustrations, I just don’t want balance changes to be made based on venting.

As far as Ruin/Undying, I felt it warranted a nerf. Maybe they overdid it, but I agree that it did need to be changed somehow. I don’t know how some people here manage to have no problems with it in soloq. Maybe they are just really good at the game, but my experience in game has not been such. Ruin/Undying is tough to deal with in soloq.

That being said, I do agree that DS and UB combo needs to be looked at too. I don’t quite know how you would fix that, but suddenly seeing one of my teammates just get up off the ground doesn’t seem too right. The swing in momentum of the game is so drastic. It’s bad enough if it happens once, god knows it’s busted if it happens more than once.

I mean even DS alone is problematic. I like how it is part of an anti-tunneling tech, but the number of times I see teammates making silly decisions only to realise later that they did so because they knew they were invulnerable doesn’t sit right with me. I mean I appreciate that we have a way to punish tunneling but can we not abuse it people?

I don’t know how to fix these problems, including how Ruin/Undying should have been balanced, but I know we can be more decent to each other and not abuse what has been given to us. That is all.

  • @AggressiveFTW said:

The reason they tbag is for them to get your attention and be toxic, but if they know you are not looking at them, they know their tbagging won't do anything to you since the killer can't see you doing it.

Haha this made me laugh. Good one.

  • So by gen rushing I assume you mean all survivors carrying toolboxes with BNPs and such and finishing gens in seconds? Or some such variant.

To me I don’t think there is truly a difference between gen rushing and tunneling. I think gen rushing is harder to accomplish because it takes 4 accomplices but if it happens you could also say that is more egregious than tunneling. So I do think they’re equally as bad.

Also just to be clear, by tunneling I mean the killer ignoring all objectives and other survivors, focusing only on one survivor to get them out of the game. I don’t really consider unsafe unhooks into a tunnel tunneling. Even though I think the killer could show some grace in those situations by chasing the teammate who unhooked, I don’t think the killer is obligated to do so.

I also don’t consider tunneling a toxic survivor tunneling. I guess strictly speaking you are tunneling someone, but the point of discouraging tunneling is to ensure everyone has fun. I think someone who is being purposely toxic can safely be exempt from that.

I think gen rushing is hard to define. How fast or slow should gen speeds go? My experience so far playing mostly solo survivor and some killer is that default gen speeds are fine. Toolboxes mostly seem fine except for maybe the commodius toolbox and any better toolboxes than that. That thing can churn out gen progression fast!

Also I’ve been running Prove Thyself, and this isn’t really a meta perk but it is so strong that my escape rate after running it in soloq went from like 20-25% to 60-75% for awhile, and then stabilised around 50-60% escape rate, which is much higher than before I ran it. So just one guy in soloq running Prove Thyself can affect the game so much. I think there are other variable at play (I suspect killers go easier when they see a full team of solos and don’t expect gens to pop so fast) but I still think it says something about how gen speeds can be abused by survivors if they wanted to. I definitely think survivors have the power to bully the killer if they wanted to but mostly don’t because it takes a coordinated effort, you might have to run team based perks and sacrifice chase and second chance perks or just don’t think it’s fun to sit on gens. (Oh and of course some players are just decent folk and don’t want to ruin other people’s fun, but we’re not here to talk about that. We’re here to talk about how potentially certain things in the game can be abused.)

So tl;dr, I don’t think gen rushing is different from tunneling. Default gen speeds are fine imo but gen speeds can be abused through multiple survivors carrying toolboxes, toolbox add ons and even Prove Thyself seems kinda powerful. And everyone who does the above to give someone else a bad time gets a stern look and finger wag from me. Tsk tsk.

  • Hahaha! That story made me laugh. Just regular solo survivor things. Pretty funny though.

  • I was just gonna make a post about hit validation and here it is already! Anyone else notice it got worse? Maybe it has already been bad but it feels much worse today.

I usually have high ping so I expect to be hit from pretty far away but the hits today have been from another planet! I would vault a window, land and see the clown swing not even at the window and I’d still be downed. Something fishy is going on here.

  • I generally don’t have a problem with Noed. I agree that currently if it is taken away there is no reason to do dull totems, and I kinda like doing totems.

But if there were a change to Noed, I think taking away the speed buff would suffice. That’s pretty significant already imo.

  • Yeah I feel this game is more like Mario party than CoD. The fun in killer is playing with your food.

  • Ooh hey didn’t notice replies! Yeah I hope they improve the switch version. There are lag spikes when I take a hit, when I go into dream world, when I dead hard etc. I understand the constraints and I’m no programmer myself but many here have said the performance can be a lot better, and I believe them.

Here’s to hoping something will be done!

  • @Father_Dark said:

You were totally in the right here. I've been in the situation before too. As a rule, I don't camp or tunnel, but protecting that 3 gen is your priority. And if they come into the area, even if it's to save the survivor. That's their issue, not yours. They should have been careful with the gens they were repairing. Yes it sucks for that one survivor, but he played most of the game. It's not like you did this with 5 gens left. The response to him should have been "well don't get hooked in a sweet 3-gen spot do to poor planning."

“...he already played most of the game.”

Yup exactly. It’s not like he got tunneled to death from the start of the match. I think you did fine.

  • @TicTac said:

You are full health and you know the killer has no noed. You know he needs to hit you twice. There is no risk involved for you. Maybe the killer doesnt let you unhook, thats ok. But i doesnt hurt to look for an oppurtunity.

Whats the reason that this people leave immediately?

Ooh this gets to me too. If the killer has noed then fine. I’d look for the totem though, but if it doesn’t get found it’s understandable to leave.

But too often this happens esp when you got chased all or most of the match. Maybe they are on death hook or maybe they don’t have BT, but a lot of the time they don’t even try. They’ll wait at the door or close to the hook, and make no attempt at all to save. I guess it makes them feel better about themselves.

I almost left my teammates too today. They didn’t do anything (for a good minute and a half on match start), didn’t complete a single gen in the next minute and a half I got into a chase, let me get to struggle on first hook, and didn’t go for hook saves until I gestured for them to. On EGC I almost just left them, but in the end came back for a BT save into a 4 man escape.

So no I don’t really understand why some teammates don’t even try for a save.

  • I guess technically it’s camping and tunneling but from what you said I don’t think it was wrong.

4v1 with a 3gen hold it makes sense to stay in the area with 3gens. It sucks to be that guy though, he essentially died on first hook. Hooked once, mori’d off the unhook, but I don’t think it’s your fault.

  • I’ve been running Prove Thyself and when my teammates see that perk they usually accompany me on a gen. I also run Bond in case I find no teammates.

    Hello everyone!

I've been playing for about a year-and-a-half now. I've been viewing these threads for a long time and I'm a first-time poster. Just wanted to share my accomplishment.

Today I got on and was going to complete a challenge as Doctor. Haven't played in awhile andI was just trying to have a relaxed and not super sweaty game. But as luck would have it I paired up against a SWF(I've deranked to rank 16).

Two rushed me at start of game tea bagging with flashlights to pull me through loops.

I obliged. They continued to bag and be toxic.

By slugging and keeping the other in Madness 3.. And then rotating hooks when rest of team joined.. I won.

And not only did I win, but the two flashlights DC'd on hooks when they knew.

I would have loved to have a chat option with them but I'm on console and I cannot express my laughter to them.

    Dear #Better and #Four More Years ...

    You got what you deserve.

    Go try Minecraft. (:

    Noice.

  • I play on switch so no post-game chat but I’m pretty sure I was getting tunneled because I was running Prove Thyself.

While I can understand why, I didn’t think killers found it so threatening. Sure I didn’t get value out of it but the killers (yes multiple) tunneled me for 5 gens so they lost anyway.

  • Well I’m learning chases too and I’m slowly getting better at it. I’ll share what I’ve been learning lately since I’m still practicing it and it’s fresh in my mind.

When running jungle gyms, you often lose sight of the killer. You need to know where are the safe places in the jungle gym to stop and wait for the killer to appear, and then where to run from there. I used to wait at the worst places when I lose sight of the killer because I didn’t know the jungle gyms well enough and didn’t know how to run them, so often I was out of position and the killer could just catch up and M1 me.

Many of these locations take advantage of the fact that no matter which direction the killer appears from, you have enough time to react and run the other way and reach a safe spot (pallet or window) without the killer catching up to you and getting a hit.

Edit: Thought I would add, this is not something necessarily you could learn from playing killer because many of these locations take advantage of the third person view of the survivor, where the survivor can see the killer but not the other way around.

I had my first match against a Forever Freddy earlier. That was the most agonizingly slow match I've ever had. I'd be 100% fine with them easing up his slowdown add-ons, especially since once he stacks them with the right perks, it basically takes you ten years to do a gen.

First time earlier today? Wow that’s lucky.

  • Red rank soloq here. Definitely a 3-4K most game. Most survivors don’t make it out alive. Some survivors can’t loop or play too much stealth. The more selfish teammates tend to be higher rank, seems like they only play for the pip and are not trying to escape.

Sometimes I make mistakes and am the weak link and sometimes I’m the one who loops the killer for multiple gens. It usually doesn’t matter, in 75% of the games 3-4 people die. 1 in 4 games 3 or more escape.

As a side note, almost every killer has been camping these few days. When they do that it’s mostly a 4K in soloq, and you can rest assured you’ll just be sitting on a gen for most of the game and then die on your first hook.

As a survivor we've all probably had a killer give us the hatch at least once. Hopefully as killers we've done it on occasion to a noob who was clearly in over his head or to reward a survivor who played us particularly well.

But, have you ever had a survivor give you a sacrifice? I haven't. And if this is less common than giving hatches, what does that say about survivors in general?

I’ve been given hatch exactly once and offered myself as a sacrifice once. Neither has happened very often so far in my experience.
