I can understand spawning next to a dull totem but it seems outrageous to me that survivors can spawn next to a lit hex totem and I'm saying this as someone who primarily plays survivor lol

The worst case I saw was on Ormond I spawned in next to a lit hex and then found ANOTHER lit one not too far away. I had cleansed Undying and Ruin back to back I felt so bad for the killer. Okay jk, it was a Freddy and he still murdered us all but that's beside the point.

Would it be asking so much for them to make hex totems spawn opposite of survivors at the VERY least? Ideally, survivors shouldn't spawn in on totems at all because this can even go the other way too, what if you spawn in next to a dull totem and they have Undying and can see your aura immediately? Cheeky e^e

So yes, do you think this is a problem and if so do you think BHVR should revamp totem spawns / locations?

    No.

Just played a game as Deathslinger.

I pulled out the stops. I brought the big guns out. I played like the low class Stormtrooper you see in Star Wars and couldn't hit my target. These survivors are Jedi's and they are just dodging and my potato aim didn't help.

To give you the story of what happened. By the time I caught the first person, three gens were completed. The game was not going in my favor. We also were on the wreck haven map. The one called Gas Heaven. I highly dislike this map on killer and survivor. Just the map alone is not a good one in my opinion.

So after getting the first hook, I pretty much gave up but wanted to defend the flash light person because to heck with the flash light. Also she was the easiest the catch out of the four. Everyone came in doing saves and replacing on hooks expect the person the top of the list. He never got hooked. xD almost but didn't. The one with 1 perk found a key and bounced out after I killed flash light girl. Which forced the other two to try and get out by door. I caught the other who was at the bottom of the list. Anyway game ended up with two kills instead of one because people wanted to be the silly and try to save when they kept getting hooked.

The worst part is. I played dirty. I became killer shack guard. Not like I could aim anyway, and then I went right after the flash light with no cares about the others because she was on death hook. Needless to say, I sucked horribly and I can admit that.

But this is how end game looks like. Regardless if I would of done good or bad, something tells me with these toxic survivors (expect the top one he was console). They would have been toxic no matter what. I was being nice. But why does DBD allow people to be like this? Like I honestly wish DBD would just remove peoples abilities to talk after games if they are like this to much.

  • @CreeRoyalty said:

Since the DS nerf I have not seen one killer respect the perk. I'd say a majority of killers I've gone against at red ranks either camp the hook or they walk away for a bit until a hook save and go right back and tunnel the same survivor, down said survivor, and then immediately pick that survivor up and hook again. Why? Because no survivor is running DS in the state it's in. Then what happens is they give up on struggle hook, especially in solo que. Now, I like to use different builds and most games I don't us DS. If there's a couple of games where I'm getting tunneled I'll throw it on. The DS nerf has led me to hide and wait for the killer to rotate until he finds a survivor because I'm decent at looping but I'm not the best by any means. If I go down I know what will happen...camp or tunneling. Just my thoughts

It happens to me a lot. I had enough of this 10 years old killers... I deleted the game. Now I play HOME SWEET HOME SURVIVE and I’m very happy with it! It’s more balanced. Dbd it’s made just to please the killers, survivors are nothing for this game...it’s impossible to win as a survivor now with so many nerfs and toxic changes.

  • @Sluzzy said:

Does the company executives know how bad survivor gameplay has become as far as being unbalanced? I played about 5 matches tonight and I am already done. Once again, every match was another bloodbath, even against Trickster once. All at Rank 1 btw. How do these survivors keep re-queuing against impossible odds and killers being satisfied with non-stop wins? My mind is literally blown that this is acceptable.

Look at your statistics please and start balancing for fairness. This is honestly getting ridiculous that nothing is being done.

I uninstalled the game because it’s too killer sided. Maybe you should try something else like me: HOME SWEET HOME SURVIVE it’s more balanced.

  • @OniWantsYourMacaroni said:

There are other games like dbd, just google it.

They even nerfed DS this patch, like wth? Do you really want me to play without it!!?!? LITerally eveyr killer at red ranks runnels and camps the survivors which is prety op btw and yyou have to run BT. RIP DS, the only perk in the game that was perfectly balanced but the devs nerfed for no reason other than a bunch of killer maynes whinning about it instead of actually getting good. Seriously, this was the absolute worst patch ever made to this game. killers are to OP and then then just get another buff wow so dumb

as a player wit h 2000+ hours who plays both sides the same goodbye, never coming back to this trashy game or the forums JAHJKHh ahi ugsd gag sagfgfhfgh April fools btw kgiopg gj aiopghi hghf

You can play Home Sweet Home Survive instead of dbd. I left dbd 1 month ago too from the same reasons. The game it’s broken from so many nerfs and it’s favorising the killers. Devs only listen to this killers. And I posted so many threads about how bad they camp, they tunnel, they use NOED so they can stay AFK all the game and get easy kills at the end, even if they are very bad as killers...so many things that I don’t like about this game...I don’t even have the time to write them. All my threads complaining about these things that make this game unplayable have been deleted in an abusive way. So enjoy a new game and let the killers play alone. They just want to play with some bots not survivors with human brains. They will complain always anyway. Btw this forum is 90% killers. So you will have spam from their salty comments.

The latency in the game is really bad thanks to there being very few servers.

I live in Europe and the servers are okay for me. It’s at the beggging, but the game will get better.

  • @AChaoticKiller said:

I belive it won't grow to big especially with it only having asian servers, from the look or it it's pretty survivor sided like just open all the doors you come across and close them in a chase you even have vents and holes only survivors can go through and the holes just end the chase right there.

the hit box for killer is also pretty small it was kinda funny seeing all the hits that should have connected missing like 6 times.

I live in Europe and the servers are okay, I can’t complain about them.

  • @Ohnoes said:

The problem with the game is:

    1) Only Asian servers.

    2) The killer behind a paywall is FAR better than the original... It is like you are just being pushed to spend for that.

Has anyone else experienced this type of teammate? Why do they do this? They aren’t going to escape either when they pull this kind of crap. Just had a match where a Claudette constantly vaulted and got into lockers repeatedly around me while I was working on gen, trying to get the killer to come to us. I ran and she got downed and hooked. I wasnt going to save her but of course the others did. Then she would miss skill checks( I’m betting on purpose) and running her teammates chances further. None of us escaped and we could have if it wasn’t for this traitor teammate. Can we not punish these kind of players? Has anyone else come across this? What are your stories?

It happens a lot to me in my recent matches, I don’t know why...maybe it’s some sort of a mad for nerfing all these perks like DS, OoO etc.

or it’s a killer main who wants to #%^* on survivors.

It's entirely discouraging. Frankly, of all the times I've stopped playing, it was because of the killer role and survivor toxicity.

    Basically this.

I saw more killers upset about undying nerf (which was well needed) than I have seen survivors upset with the DS nerf (which was also well needed).

Another difference at the time is that I did not see survivors posting this kind of posts either, but I might have missed them.

I posted 3 posts complaining about DS and all got deleted without a reason. They were also posted at different days. They were deleted one by one, this is the reason I posted 3.

  • @rglarson13 said:

Survivors love to hate NOED, and call it a reward for losing. But in the same breath, they say that DS needs to exist to punish killers for tunneling.

That same logic applies to NOED.

It's there so the killer can punish survivors for bad behavior. If they would just spread out their attention across both generators and totems, instead of tunneling the generators out of the game, they wouldn't ever encounter NOED as a problem.

But it's the killer's job to pressure survivors to make them leave generators, you say. Well, it's the survivor's job to avoid getting hooked. A good way to do that is to be someplace other than at the generator when the killer comes by to check; what better place than cleansing a totem?

But tunneling is no fun for the survivor who is killed, you say. Well, having gens tunneled out of the game denies the killer the 12-hook game everyone seems to think is the proper way for a killer to play; that's no fun for the killer.

But NOED just rewards killers for bad play, because it only procs when they're losing, you say. Except if a survivor played better they wouldn't ever have a chance to use DS -- it's a reward for losing.

But generators are a survivors's objective, you say. Well, hooks are the killer's objective.

But you can't be sure that all the other survivors cleansed totems, and it wastes too much time walking around looking for totems, you say. Well, it wastes a lot of time walking around to multiple generators to check if a survivor is there, and a killer doesn't have teammates to rely on to do their job for them.

Really it just boils down to the fact that survivors hate NOED because they were close to success, but then this irritating perk procs and undoes the results of your hard work, leaving you feeling like you just had the carpet yanked out from under you. Which is exactly what DS does to killers.

So....then if DS got nerfed, NOED should get a nerf too!

  • It can have skill checks only for extra bloodpoints, and the second hooked survivors even if they don't do the skillcheck they will stay on the hook without being got by the entity after an amount of Time like the first hook time. This prevent the suicide and the skill check will be just for BP. And after the second hook time they will be got by the entity if nobody came for them to rescue.

  • Yes it is! NOED it's too overpowered. In many games the killers don't do anything and wait for the gens to be done so he can use NOED. IT'S VERY TOXIC And OP! but devs only listen to the killers, and they will nerf only the survivors perks, we got a nerf for DS now I'm sure they will nerf all thd other perks killers cry about. So we can't do anything.

All killers are overpowered when you're bad as survivor.

Good survivors have a win rate of around 80% against Deathslingers and Pyramid Heads (based on the level of play of Sawpalin, Exlelite etc).

    I'm rank 1.

  • @TheBigBingus said:

Yes, I understand that they don't play by the normal rules of the game, how pyramid head can shoot through walls and slinger can basically deny half the loops in the game, but the whole point of the killer. they're different, and they force you to play differently because if you don't, you're gonna die. People who just say say that they're unfair and have no counterplay are clearly just entitled and refuse to play a different way, or maybe adapt a different playstyle against these killers. Slinger had the strongest 1v1 potential in the game, but he has no map control, and can't play well against survivors that group up, like say Billy can. Also, If you're good at breaking line of sight, he almost becomes worthless. Pyramid head basically deletes all conventional looping, but honestly if you run the tiles differently and juke properly, you can avoid him for quite some time. Saying they they have no counterplay, just because the counterplay that YOU are accustomed to against normal M1 killers is ignorant. If slinger had no counterplay, then he would he top tier and everyone would play him. but he's not, he's just a slightly better huntress with worse addons. Pyramid head I can sort of see the argument for of why he's so strong, but I don't think he's nearly as unfair as other killers. I've never seen someone complaining about Oni's strength, or how unfair Hag is once she's set up a trap web, yet I constantly see these 2 getting called unfun to play against. What are your guy's thoughts?

    They are overpowered.

  • @PlaysByShady said:

I think the problem is the inability to see how perks - in their current state - can be (and are) abused, which makes it exceptionally difficult for the killer to maintain any kind of ground in the game.

DS currently gives a survivor literally 60-seconds of invulnerability. They can sit on a gen and crank it out, thus pushing forward their objectives. They also literally get a free escape if they happen to have been hooked somewhat near the gate and somehow get off... the killer cannot pick them up and they crawl away.

Now compare that with PGTW which got nerfed to 45 seconds. The killer has to scout the map to find a gen worthwhile to use it on to get any use out of it, whilst ignoring other survivors and chases, etc. In a lot of cases it literally comes down to "do I chase this guy I've come across, or go exploring?", and even if they go exploring its likely the gen they'd want to use it on might pop by the time they get there.

How in the world is it fair for a survivor who can heal themselves, or be healed by any of the other three survivors, to walk around with 60s of invulnerability, but the killer only gets 45s to use their perk or give it up?

Now you might argue that, "oh, the killer can use pop multiple times, there's multiple chances"... true, but he's also battling against 16 perks from the survivors. There could be 4x DS for all he knows.

And when you mix those with borrowed time, unbreakable, adrenaline, and OoO on comms (which extends one perk slot to all survivors if they're on comms), you can see how the game becomes survivor sided and the killer literally has to sweat in order to assert some kind of dominance.

The killer is supposed to be a character that's feared, that you run from. But with the current setup, more often than not (at experienced level of play), survivors see the killer as a plaything, because they've got a multitude of perks that'll keep giving them second chances if the killer does manage to get a hit on one.

The game should be about skill and tactics... not about which perk you necessarily brought, or how many crutches you're able to use.

Killer is abusing some perks too.

  • @Ivaldi said:

I play Killer & Survivor 50/50, i'm rank 1 in both and have been for quite some time so i'd like to think I have an unbiased opinion when it comes to nerfs and i'll be the first to agree that Undying/Pop didn't need to be nerfed.

But with that said, how much is too much? It seems like every single patch I see countless posts begging for survivor nerfs.. and then when you finally get what you want, you immediately start asking for another nerf?

In most recent events.. Infinites got nerfed? wasn't enough. Toolboxes + all Addons got nerfed? wasn't enough. Gen speeds got nerfed? wasn't enough. Hook saboing got nerfed? wasn't enough. More maps got reworked? wasn't enough. Keys are being reworked? wasn't enough. Decisive just got nerfed and Object has been confirmed for a nerf at a later date? Still not enough..

Now I see people demanding a Dead Hard nerf when anyone who uses it knows you end up dead on the ground 7/10 times.

I mean hell.. Just last week I saw someone asking for a Spine Chill nerf because it wasn't fair to stealth killers.

Will you truly ever be satisfied? or is it human nature to just constantly want more and more after you get your way once?

The Killers are just cry babies, they want to delete all survivors perks if they can. And devs are listening to the cry baby killers, and this game will die soon. They have just to stop trying to please those killers. But they will not...so this is sad and true. I don't see the fun of this game nerfing the perks. The perks were made for a reason. Killer must put an effort and play better if he/she is unsatisfied after the game.

  • @Arbmos1998 said:

    • Survivors hate Tunnelling and Camping.
    • Survivors also hate Gen Regression/Defense Perks that allows the Killer to extend the match without having to Tunnel/Camp. (Ruin +Undying rewarded Killers for Map Control a and allowed Killer to do multiple chases).

Survivors - Rushes gens in 3-4 mins giving the Killer no time to do multiple chases or get close to the 12 Hook counter. What does this cause?

    • Camping
    • Tunnelling
    • Slugging

    Pop - Nerfed

    Ruin - Nerfed

    Undying - Nerfed

    Pig Traps - Nerfed

Freddy Add-Ons - Nerfed (Most likely will again)

So my question is this. If Survivor mains hated Ruin + Undying so much are you guys actually wanting the Killer to play more lame as that is the direction the game is heading. I don't like Camping nor Tunnelling but let's be honest we have all had at least 1 match where we have been forced to do so to secure a Kill after a 3-4 min game. Not only does this create very unfun gameplay for Killer but it's obviously very unfun for Survivors.

Undying had 0 reason to be nerfed as it allows Killers to somewhat follow the Survivor Rule book to allow them to last longer in a match but for some reason Undying was considered "Unhealthy" for the game. How is a Perk that allows the match to be longer than 3-4 mins unhealthy for the game exactly? Meanwhile perks like Insidious are still in this game, a perk that is honestly only used for 1 lame purpose. Insidious could be great if reworked correctly so it actually has a good purpose.

I wouldn't be surprised if Devour got some sort of Nerf later down the track as that has recently replaced Ruin but if the Devs want to use "Stats" for their Balance then by that logic we should be seeing a Nurse buff at some stage, I'm personally fine with Nurse at the moment, I play her without addons but if the devs want to go off stats then I won't say no to a buff to her.

You are speaking as a weak tunnel camper killer.

  • @csandman1977 said:

I hear all the time that forums are survivor/killer sided. Depending who you ask decides the answer.

But i wonder. Considering the game NEEDS a majority of survivor players, there does seem to be an over representation of killer players.

    What would cause this?

Is it true that if you are coming here to the forums you are heavily invested in the game?

Is it true that we as (mostly) human beings are a community oriented species?

Do we crave companionship with those who share our interests?

As survivor, can you get in a game and pretty much put on a headset and share your game with others?

As killer can you do the same?

I feel like killer is over represented here mainly because this is the only place for killers to communicate with other killers.

Where else can a killer go to discuss strategies or perk builds with other killers?

Maybe im wrong and that psych class i took 27 years ago means nothing, or maybe im on to something.

Long story short, IF the forums are killer sided, it's because there is no other place for these virtual killers to hang out and socialize.

Finally someone accepts the forum is full of killers.

  • @russf10 said:

If you guys are going to make the new ds nerfed, can you guys at least make it so it stuns the killer automatically instead of hitting a skill check, this will help with people that dont wanna get tunneled and people that cant hit the skill check like a newer player or a player with shaky hands.

If you get tunneled you shouldnt have to hit a skill check so you dont get tunneled. You should just be able to not get tunneled. And yes I know some people will just say "get good at skill checks" while tjis may be true in some cases, some players find it extremely difficult to hit it maybe because they are nervous or it might lag during the skill check. This is just my opinion but I think it would benefit the game a lot.

It's a great idea! I hope the devs will take in consideration instead of just listening to cry baby killers and changing the game to please them.

Survivor is also ruined because of the animations. Not only was it said that “It would not affect gameplay or movement” (which was a complete lie) they also just look so goofy. when your injured you look like donald duck who just took a dump in his pants and is trynna run to a toilet.

The dying state animations are okay, i’ll give credit for that but the rest of the animations are just shocking. Devs said they weren’t gonna revert them but that is a mistake. BHVR, you have literally LOST players because of this pisspoor update. For the sake of everyone playing this game, cut your losses and revert these animations. it’ll only do you good.

The same can happen with Victor, it may be a major disadvantage not being able to see the windows well or where the survivors can go, but I am sure that he could have an FOV identical to that of Blight.

    Red Light.

Obviously if it gets to be in Dead by Daylight, it will have advantages and disadvantages. The disadvantage of him is that his Red Light is greater than that of the rest of Killers. Its advantages may be very small so that survivors do not realize that it is hanging around, another option would be to have a Low Terror Radius of 16 or 24 meters to sneak up on it but maybe 32 meters. Regarding the photo, imagine that this is how it looked in front of a Pallet and that its Red Light reached the metal bar that is on the floor as an Example.

    Hooks.

For Chucky to work, he could carry the survivors by dragging or force them to hang himself, to hang himself permanently, it could be 3 options.

    1. The Entity is summoned to the hook to hang the survivor himself.

    2. The Hook lowers when Chucky is 4 meters from the hook, hangs it and the hook rises to its original position.

    3. The Survivor hangs himself.

    What do you think?

It's really great the work you did to show us how it will be. I hope your idea gets to the devs and maybe they will think about it for the next chapters. Me personally I like it.

  • The killer's power should be jumping LOL. I think you should have an ideea for his power too, the rest it's interesting ;)

Its not fun anymore, its a buggy mess, but people still play it because there's no other game like this.

Friday the 13th, Deceit. And if you search you will find more.

  • I already don't play this game anymore and if I do I stay AFK!

One survivor's ability would inevitably become the favourite and that's all you would ever see.

    No.

Do you see the same killer every match? People play with different killers, they don't have a favorite, even if each killer have a special ability. This is the proof that what you think would not be like that.

    No.

And this seems to you to happen with the killers too? I see many different killers in the game and that is the proof people are different and choose different killers for their special ability.

Title. Since it’s now a true anti tunnel perk it should activate twice. It would only punish tunneling killers harder which is good.

This would also hopefully lead to less survivors who are being tunneled giving up on their second hook.

I Agree with you. I hope devs will agree too otherwise I stay AFK every match as a survivor.

This is disconcerting, but for a different reason.

You're claiming that there are enough survivors willing to quit the game over a nerf that solely impacts the abusive side of DS (but leaves it intact for its intended use as an anti-tunnel perk), that it'll impact killer queues.

Honestly, I think the game will be better off without such players.

And still you will wait an eternity in the lobby as a killer. Because many many many many many many many many many survivors will stop playing.

  • Killers will now have to wait an eternity in the lobby! I'm pleased!

I am "for sure" Rank 4, actually. Not sure why people throw that random "You must be rank X" insult all the time.

I don't know where you are getting the idea that only rank 1 Survivors would be left. The players most likely to quit over a Decisive Strike change are not the newbies that started playing a month ago. Unless they bought the Halloween DLC those players don't even HAVE Decisive Strike, let alone be invested in it enough to care if it was slightly changed to avoid tactics mainly used by the very rank 1 survivors you claim would be the only ones left.

My "attitude" is that a ratio of 1 dropped toxic Survivor in exchange for 100 returning Killers is a very healthy thing for this game.

100 killers playing with theirselves. Because all the survivors deleted the game.

The perk is relatively fine, I can see it being problematic in solo queue due to the lack of communication but it's far from being OP.

You play killer and that's why your opinion it's in your favor.

  • And you can only give DS a single time per match. At least make DS full time usable.
