Ever since the RE chapter it's been the case. Maybe a lot of people wanna play Nemesis.
It's an unpopular opinion but i'm enjoying longer killer queues. it's kinda nice to chill between games.
I’m definitely not complaining or anything, it’s nice if I’m playing with friends to not have to wait forever and as killer it’s nice to be able to mess around with my build and spend points. It just surprised me because I keep seeing people post here about “15 minute survivor queues” and that is really far from my experience at the moment.
-
No need to be toxic, I don’t dc myself but points are about the worst argument for this killer in particular.

Dcs rn are awful.
I'll never understand dcs, why waste your own time like that? Get some damn points.
Can’t really get points against a killer where you spend half the time on the ground and all chases are against Victor, who gives you absolutely nothing in boldness.

They run to another loop. Trapper require setup, as soon as you know a trapper is in the game, you know the area, the one opposite you spawned from, is probably trapped, so you should tread it carefully and disarm traps.
Freddy and Clown are the only ones i agree with you on. All the other killers you listed earlier have some way other than just dropping the pallet to counter them. Doctor has a very thin shock and you can dodge it. It also slows him down when he uses it, meaning if you dodge it, you have plenty of time to vault a window or still drop a pallet.
Running to another loop how? What key do I press for that again? ;)

Literal whataboutism.
I say, holding w, and just dropping the pallet is boring, too effective, and leads to only nurse and spirit being viable.
you say: But what about all these anti-loop killers.
That is literal whataboutism.
Stop being a Scott Jund sheep and realize that you can fix more than one thing at once. Either fix hold w or make gens take longer. Something needs to be done.
You say holding W is boring and too strong.
I say it’s the playstyle that the developers are encouraging through their recent balancing decisions, including killer powers, and that it’s not a simple thing to fix because it would have significant balance implications.
That’s not whataboutism, that’s just what people usually call discussing a subject.
I don’t watch Scott Jund.

Ok lumping in Trapper and Trickster in with Nurse? Also you're complaining TRAPPER is to strong at anti-loop...... TRAPPER?!
Confirmed.... suvivors just want M1 no power killers they can loop for 5 minutes *face - palm*
And as far as Doctor goes the power has a stupidly long delay before exploding AND slows him down. It's literally the Huntress / Nem / PH issue where if he spams his power you pretty much get infinite loops AND his power doesn't even damage. it's actually VERY hard to "anti-loop" with it and usually involves mindgames of tricking the survivors to predrop a pallet / vault something and coming around the other side.
Same pretty much goes with clown slows him down and the gas doesn't linger to long if it isn't PRECISELY placed you can ignore it.
Freddy? *ring ring ring* Freddy's big power (B to Aish level fo power) comes from his map pressure not really his anti loop. You ... DO know the snares don't work while you're awake yes? And he's an M1 killer before he get's the first hit in? It's kinda like a reverse Legion / Plague, paying with 1 health state. And you're Immune to being M1ed for 30 seconds then take another 60 to fall asleep, upon wich ANOTHER clock will spawn...
I think you’re failing to understand what I’m saying. I’m not saying that Trapper is OP or on the same level as Nurse. I’m saying that these killers have anti-loop powers which encourage survivors to drop pallets early or forego looping and try to make distance. If Trapper traps a loop, then how the ######### do you expect a survivor to use it? Come on dude, at least try to understand the point I’m making instead of arguing against something I never even said.
If you can’t anti-loop a survivor as Doctor, Clown or Freddy then you’re not using their powers properly. “He has to hit his bottles” is not a good counter-argument; I’m assuming a baseline level of competency with a killer’s power. Doctor can throw on a Discipline add on, or just, idk, get good and learn the timing, it’s not really that difficult. And survivors typically can’t use clocks to wake up when they’re being chased.

What do you expect killers to do? Survivors can waste 48 seconds of a killers time by holding w, no windows, no pallets, no nothing. 48 seconds. Factor in picking that survivor up, finding a hook, walking them to it, actually doing the hooking. And you probably just lost 3 gens. Now imagine if the survivor knows how to press spacebar at pallets.
Like, at this point you are saying that, if survivors play this way, it is boring for them, and the killer is usually lucky to get 1 or 2 hooks, let alone kills. If survivors don't play this way, killers are too strong at anti-loop at survivors die in 2 minutes and it is boring for killer.
So why do nothing? We all agree these are serious problems, let's fix them instead of throwing whataboutisms at each other. Like, lets fix the game.
There was no whataboutism in my post. I was simply arguing that this strat is popular now for very good reason.
If you “fix” this, you make certain killers extremely frustrating (even more so) to face. Can’t loop, can’t stealth, can’t run away.
Like, the solution would probably be to have rebalanced the maps so that pallets are not totally unsafe and not totally safe either, but have some mindgame potential and playability. You know, make it a more interactive chase where both sides try to read each other and make the better play. The devs didn’t go this route though so instead you have maps that are either still hilariously survivor sided (Haddonfield, Fractured Cowshed) or filled with short low wall loops and dead zones (Dead Dawg, Shelter Woods, some Autohaven). You can’t play the pallets on Dead Dawg against a killer like Pyramid Head or Deathslinger if they’re even half decent so you basically have to make distance and break line of sight all the time.
If you “fix” the issue of holding W, what do you replace it with against killers where that’s the only real way to play against them? Survivors need to have SOME means of prolonging their death, otherwise any not garbage tier killer who plays with half a brain will 4K almost every single game which is a completely unreasonable thing to expect.

I mean..... Nurse and Spirit sure, but most killers arn't "unloopable". VS Nem and PH for example you can just play them like a Huntress mindgaming the power. You can get several EXTRA loops if you read the killer right, it's an extra layer of mindgames really beyond your basic 50-50 the moonwalk (ow wait dead hard, so not really a 50-50)
I'll grant you Huntress , Plague, Demo, PH and Nem really gobble up new survivors who havn't figured out what animation lock is yet... DS is kinda in a category of his own as the power comes out really quick but same basic concept.
Then you have pallet munchers like Bubba, Oni and Iri Button Legion. Those yeah, you kinda have to keep feeding them pallets and hope the gens run out before the pallets do, tho i've heard windows are really sexy....
Then there's Twins / Hag who hate crouching... another thing like 90% of the survivor base hasn't seemed to have figured out yet... Also babbynapping Victor is Hillarious, turns twins into.... Freddy basically. M1 killer + oblivious. Hell lump Trickster into that category who can be really mean over low wall loops.
But ofc why bother with brainpower when the sacred W key exists. Especially mean vs Nem since he needs like 8 extra hits every game before he becomes reaaaaaaally scarry. Once you take Nem for a walk it's such a ######### to have to decide between M1 or Tentancle (granting even more ditstance....)
Nurse, Trapper, Doctor, Freddy, Clown, Demo, Deathslinger, Pyramidhead, Trickster, Nemesis. All killers whose powers make looping much more difficult, or shut it down completely depending on the tile RNG you get. I don’t even count Spirit since you can’t loop her but you can’t make distance against her either, lol. Even stuff like Pig’s dash and Wraith’s lunge out of cloak can be anti-loop and encourage the “pre-drop and hold W to next loop” strat.
Please tell me how to loop a Clown or Doctor or Freddy without dropping pallets early and trying to make distance at every opportunity.
-
What do you expect survivors to do? The devs keep adding more and more killers that cannot be looped for any meaningful amount time, and the reworked maps have more and more dead zones and unsafe pallets, so survivors apparently did what killers always asked them to do and adapted.
It’s not very fun to play this way as survivor either. I’d rather use my brain a little in a chase but I also don’t really want to try to loop the really fun and interactive anti-loop killer, go down in 10 seconds and doom my team. So, sorry but until survivors get something else to work with, I’ll just hold W. Fun.
-
Twins. The absolute worst designed killer in the game and they suck any possible fun of a match. If I play against Twins more than once in a session it basically kills my desire to play any more and I go play a different game.
-
Lucky. I wish this was my experience but sadly it’s not.

Dragon’s Grip too. If they’re starting to walk back these absurdly long cooldowns on killer perks that can only be a good thing imo, some of them are just silly.
-
I’m not a fan of most of the survivor face reworks tbh, but this one is a big upgrade. Nice.
-
It was miserable. I don’t understand how such a stupid killer power design ever made it live but it was insanely annoying to face and left a grudge that still exists against Legion for a lot of people who played at that time, me included.
You couldn’t do anything. You couldn’t run, you couldn’t hide. Old Legion was like a less cool and more annoying Terminator: he absolutely would not stop, ever, until you were dead.
-
I play on low. Higher FPS is more important to me than graphics, and I can get 120 on low whereas every other option drops my frames noticeably. I also really hate how dark the game is since my eyesight is pretty bad and I game in a well lit room, so it being brighter on low is nice, I can’t lie.

then why play with them? if I have to carry like solo, I’m playing solo.
Some people find the game more enjoyable as a social experience. I have friends I play the game with who aren’t great and make stupid plays, and in fact playing with others makes me make more stupid plays too due to over-altruism and being distracted, but it doesn’t matter to me because I like them and enjoy chatting to them while we play.

This wasn't the first time I've had a red rank killer or what not, but it is the first time I have seen an ENTIRE game made up of red ranks. I don't understand how it happened, haha.
I’m guessing you were playing at peak hours (late evenings, particularly on Fridays and Saturdays). Survivor queues get quite long at those times so the matchmaking loosens to find quicker games so people aren’t waiting 30 minutes for a match.
-
You don’t need killer instinct procs if you know for a fact that a survivor is sitting on a nearby gen, I guess. I wouldn’t run it myself but I don’t think it’s that bad unless the map is huge.
-
You’re missing a vital part of the idea which is that once solos are buffed, killers are then buffed as well.
The idea isn’t to just buff survivors in general, it’s to close the gap between four solos and a 4 man SWF. Then you’re able to balance survivors and killers more easily because there won’t be such a big disparity between solo and SWF. (In theory, anyway.)
It’s great that you’re good at the game and whatnot but the kinds of buffs people ask for probably won’t buff survivors like you significantly in any case. It’s not like people are asking for an extra 5% move speed or faster repairs or whatever. They typically just want more information at base, the kind of information that comms give you like a totem counter, or an indication that your teammate is being chased.

I feel like latency and I are going to have a minor disagreement on that one if I try it. I'll give it a shot next time i'm unlucky, though.
And yeah, that's probably the biggest part I hate about the Hag-- the camp. 15 traps around a hook is just standard business-- the guy can expect to go to second stage, if he ever gets off at all. And if they're in the basement? Forget about it.
The Hag gets to win and facecamp better than almost anyone else at the same time.
Honestly, I do this all the time against the (few) Hags I play against and I’ve never suffered any issues with latency so hopefully that shouldn’t be an issue. You’re already moving away before she can even start the teleport animation. I should record a video of it next time I play against Hag to show how it works because it’s easier to show than to try to explain.
I think people’s suggestions that Hag traps around the hook dissolve like PH’s trails are good and the devs should look into implementing it. Non-camping Hags won’t care, and it will remove a frustrating part of the game. Unfortunately they seem kind of slow to address these sorts of cheesy camping strats.
-
I’m not gonna try to change anyone’s mind about Hag because I know a lot of people find her unenjoyable, but one thing I will say is that her traps can be destroyed by any survivor, even without a flashlight. So if you’re someone who’s interested in learning how to play against Hag, there is stuff you can do.
The radius of the trap is larger than her lunge distance out of teleport, so if you see a trap (which is much easier on the reworked maps because the ground is much lighter, and also pretty easy on indoor maps, but less realistic on maps like the swamp maps), you can inch towards it with your camera facing the trap. As soon as you trigger it (and since you’re facing it your camera won’t swing), immediately sprint away. Even if the Hag teleports instantly she’ll miss her swing, and whether she swings or not she’s slowed out of teleport so you can usually make enough distance to get to some kind of structure.
Do this every time you notice a trap, or even go looking for them in key areas you suspect she’s trapped if you want to be a real pain in her ass. It’s like playing against Trapper, you have to look at the ground as you move around the map. You have to mess with her traps as much as possible. The more traps she sets up the stronger she is and the more of them you can destroy, the bigger the chance you buy your team.
Not much you can do against a camping Hag that sets tons of traps around a hook though. But I’m all in favour of the devs nerfing that aspect of her power, it’s pretty cheesy.
-
Yes, a few. My in-game name is kind of generic though so I doubt they’d remember.

I wouldn't be against it, although there might be some outcry when people realise how often they go against some form of swf. (i.e. people usually talk about solo and swf as if every match is either a 4-man or 4 solos when these are probably the rarest combinations)
You’re right that some people would definitely complain. I think it would be interesting to see how often 4 man SWFs get beaten, and how often teams that killers suspect are 4 mans are actually a 2 man and 2 randoms, or whatever.

That often eh? All these rank 1-5s?
Do you think it’s hard to get to red ranks or something? It really isn’t, and that should be obvious if the red rank teammates you’re getting are as bad as you’re suggesting. It’s not like a kid can’t climb to red rank if they play enough.
-
There are a lot more kids on console, so you’re probably just getting actual baby survivor teammates.

It’s useless. Someone told me “slit ur wrists” the other day and it wasn’t censored, but I complimented some survivors on the “sexiness” of their lobby (it was all really handsome skins) and that word was blocked. Lol.

I tested DS a couple of times before and after the nerf. My survival rate isn´t any different then when i don´t equip it. Which is just like what the dev stats showed:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/2XCHN4HS62AA/e1xcujjweaewd7g.jpg
Going back to topic now, before a mod thinks we want to derail this thread...
I think once the Nemesis DLC goes live, more people will see the horrible spawn points and the devs will have to take action on this. Because lets be honest. Its not the killers fault for losing 2 or 3 gens in the first chase. Its a combination of the horrible spawn points, the gen speed and the lack of additional objectives. Where the objectives is the one thing i see as a solution.
So old DS was fine and didn’t affect kill rates at all. Good to know so many people complained about it for no reason then.
-
@Tsulan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2227883#Comment_2227883
DS does the same as it did before. The people that didn´t need it before, don´t need it now. The people that complain about it being trash, used it in unintended ways.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2227884#Comment_2227884
Survivors used it to have 60 seconds of immunity while they could do everything else. When it triggered, they claimed that the killer was tunneling. But when a survivor has time to repair a gen, heal or cleanse a totem. Then he´s not being tunneled.
But thats a whole different discussion.
Lets go back to topic: horrible spawn points and what to do with them.
You’re trying to imply that the DS nerf wouldn’t impact kill rates while also trying to suggest that old DS was overpowered. It’s one or the other.
-
@Tsulan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2227874#Comment_2227874
DS does the same it did before. It protects survivors from tunneling.
C’mon man, old DS was used for far more than anti-tunnelling and we all know it.
-
The thing about Dead Hard is that it’s either really really good, or borderline useless. Everyone remembers the chases where the survivor is close to death but then they Dead Hard to a really strong window, which allows them to live longer. It’s a really effective use of the perk and it feels bad. But these situations really are less common than the ones where survivors Dead Hard into a wall, Dead Hard in the middle of a dead zone, or Dead Hard into you to try and bait you into a swing. All of these are counterable for obvious reasons whereas the first isn’t.
DH is annoying but it’s way less consistent than Sprint Burst, which in my opinion is a FAR more annoying perk and the reason I hope they never nerf DH. But DH is way more fun to use as survivor than Sprint Burst so you see it more often.
-
I’ve seen more people being nice to each other about their pride charms than I have any hate, personally. It’s been nice to see actually. A few people have commented positively post-game about it; I wish I’d remembered to screen cap them for proof because it’s always heart warming to see stuff like that.

See this is were im confused so any input is most welcome, also please excuse my ignorance if any.
Im a straight male (i do enjoy some Barry Manilow though so maybe not) with a brother in law and sister in law both gay. During Pride month i like to show support so put the Pride flag on my social media accounts. Ok.
Last year numerous gay people messaged me asking if i was gay, when i said no they told me i shouldnt be dispaying the Pride flag then as they use it to easily find other gay people so i thought ok never knew that and removed it.
I also know a streamer who had the Pride flag on screen (very small) showing support but was also contacted and told similar to what i was told and he also then removed it.
So can i ask what is the correct answer. Can straight Barry Manilow loving males show support by displaying the Pride flag or is it frowned upon.
Again please excuse any ignorance or outdated language i may have used, i wasnt educated very well.
There is no “correct answer”, unfortunately. Some people will agree with you using the flag to show solidarity, and some will think you shouldn’t use it if you’re not LGBT. It’s all a matter of opinion, different people will see it differently. All you can do is be respectful and supportive (which you obviously are) and you’ll be fine.
-
I feel like all this match proves is that the ranking system is totally useless. I honestly thought this was going to be a green rank lobby but everyone was red/high purple, lol.
-
There wouldn’t be so many SWF if solo was a bit less frustrating, in my opinion.
I used to play solo almost exclusively but I barely play it at all these days, and when I do I end up getting frustrated and switching over to killer. The ranking system doesn’t do what it’s supposed to do and there are only so many Megheads sprinting into trees and then dcing when they get downed that I can take.
The change to rank reset way back when was a horrible change and I still don’t understand why they did it.
-
Probably because it makes them uncomfortable for whatever reason and they therefore don’t want to see it in a game they enjoy. They’d prefer to not have to deal with those feelings while playing this game and the charm is a reminder so it doesn’t let them do that.
-
It isn't even that difficult vs good survivors if you know what you're doing and the map isn't terrible, IMO.
When I was going for Adept Hag the other day I had an interesting match where a lot of stuff was against me, stuff that people here would claim makes survivors OP - a lot of meta perks, all my totems got cleansed quite fast, there was a 3 man SWF, 3 flashlights vs Hag (and they knew how to use them as well, they disarmed my traps and got two or three flashlight saves against me from really creative angles so they definitely weren't babies). I was playing for Adept so I didn't camp or tunnel, and tried to play according to the emblem system so I hooked everyone multiple times. But I still got the 4k because it was on a balanced map and I know how to play Hag.
IMO killer is only really unwinnable if you get a bad map and the survivors know how to run it well. Otherwise, I really feel like at this point in the game's balance, if you're good at the killer you're playing you have every chance to win.

White Wards are bugged right now so it wouldn’t have made a difference. :(

Whaaat? I think it’s great, brings back happy memories of watching my dad play RE from behind a cushion as a kid.
-
It seems like the tutorial is going to be changed in future updates, whereas on the PTB it’s the same as before, so it might be that there are further changes coming to the bots mode as well.
I’d be surprised if they didn’t add a bit more customisation to it, like picking your killer and the map. It’s been a requested feature for a while.
-
The Game, without question. Much, much easier to patrol the gens, more confusing TR for survivors so easier to catch them off guard (they can see you coming from a mile away on Haddonfield), and pallets are breakable whereas strong windows are forever. I don’t think there’s a single killer I’d be happier to play on Haddonfield. Maybe Billy or Trapper I guess, idk.
-
I like that the image is a bit higher contrast and that the text is larger and bolder. Makes sense from a branding perspective to have the name of your game be front and centre and stand out more.
I preferred the old logo with the skulls more, though.
-
Considering that the farm maps are still really unbalanced, I wouldn’t hold your breath on a Haddonfield visual rework making it any more fun to play on.
-
I’ve had the same bug in the exact same spot as well, but I unfortunately wasn’t able to record it.
-
Exact same issue here. Copying the template as requested by the mods, with log attached:
Step 1: Play a match as survivor and use a White Ward.
Step 2: Check your load out post-game.
Step 3: Notice that your item and add on(s) are gone.
Additional information
- Character played: Claudette
- Perks played: Spine Chill, Balanced Landing, Borrowed Time, Kindred
- Map: Dead Dawg Saloon
- Item: Ranger Med-kit with Gel Dressings
If it makes a difference it wasn't the last match I played in the log, it was the match before that.
