The only time DC on last hook is when i have to go do something quickly OR if ive had enough dbd for one day and just want to get out of the game as fast as possible lol. I dont mind the minor dc penalty because im coming off to play something else

Nope, not on any of the ones it's happened to me.

If the EGC is going, the timer will expire and you will be returned to the lobby before you bleed out. So it sounds pretty sorted.
Yeah it's still annoying though, we're expected to wait there for no reason and 0% chance of escape. So what is the point? Don't they want to go into the next game?
And I only included this example because it happened to my last game. But most times it's when they go to find hatch whilst I'm downed and then just stay at the closes hatch... They don't even come back for the hook they just stand there afk... Like why?
-
If that's your playstyle then by all means play like it.
But dont be crying 'genrushes' 'toxic' or 'crutch perks' because if you give this type of energy to survivors, they'll sure give it back to you.
But don't worry, I'm sure keeping this strategy up will have you uninstalling the game in a few months after you've bored yourself to death :)

I thought they didn't go through with the open handed buff cuz it was too strong?

Deathslinger main here:
- if going into a tight space like a pallet, window or even a doorway, FAKE IT FIRST. Deathslingers are always counting on the survivor to do something predictable like this. If we miss, you can safely go through the tight space. If line it up but don't shoot, just go a different way as lining up shots is difficult.
- Lose LoS (line of sight), we can't shoot through walls.... Simples
- when lopping duck at the right time. Deathslingers have to shoot over obstacles lower than the survivor. So if you see your on the opposite side of a small obstacle, you better duck.
- If healthy dont pre-drop pallets, it just makes our life easier, we shoot: free pallet and a free hit when you break free.
These tips should help you do well, deathslingers love to quickscope as it gives no time for reaction, so use this to your advantage knowing that we won't hesitate or fake a shot, when it's the right time we'll just fire at will lol
-
Ahh quite true
-
Make her red light dissappear when phasing
-
My theory is that the hits are unfair due to the falling animation when you're downed.
You fly forwards by like a few meters when you get downed as opposed to before the update where you just flop on the floor.
This means that the hit box is slightly back more so that they fall in the same place they'd fall if the original downed animation did.

But if you come from the other side as killer and forget that this pallet is there, you created a God pallet.
But realistically who would forget this awful dead end and break a useless breakable wall? It's highly unlikely
-
I admit the loops have improved alottt, but this buff is balanced by how many DEAD ENDS THERE ARE.
There's literally one pallet which if dropped on the other side, you're stuck on a small dead ends with a breakable wall...
-
Don't mean to be rude but there's harder killers to go against... Thank you and goodnight

Neas.... God... Damn.. NEA MAINS

We know:
Has to be licensed - we have had two killers in a row who are original (blight and twins) so the chances of a licensed killer is high.
Has to be a very popular franchise - All the licensed killers we have received have been very well known and from a franchise (more than one film).
I have high hopes for either: Alien or predator
-
When I first wanted to start maining blight, I got ormond and backwater swamp... It was a nightmare, it made me never play him.
But after realising it was just these 2 maps I played him and now I main him :)
But yeah it really needs to be addressed

I'm Aware of that, but you didn't sldeserve anything. You got hooked in the basement, the most dangerous place for survivors, you are lucky he saved you let alone gave you the BT. I will repeat myself, your level of entitlement is astonishing. It's a video game. Grow up.
Why should I be lucky? Isn't the point of BT to unhook survivors in bad or dangerous situations? If you ain't going to be doing that then don't bring it. Wouldn't want you to run BT.
Besides I've learned that anything is acceptable in this game and even though its harsh reality but yeah it's just a game. I've always put off being toxic but if they don't care why should I :))). Tea bags and flashlight clicking for the win

was this worth making a post over?
Yeah actually, it was to see people's opinions on a really unlucky and unfortunate situation the survivor could not control as the map was small enough for a basement, team that unhook badly and leave you to die.
And to see how people felt about the killers choice to make their life worse aha
-
@Aquamarine said:
That just happens sometimes. The basement is meant to be a dangerous place and if the killer sees someone is going down there, he'll follow. Sucks to be that survivor on hook but that's how it goes.
Run DS + UB next time. The most effective way to handle those situations.
The funny thing is, killers complain about people running DS and that it's so OP.
Yet make us have to run it for situations like this.

Probably more the quoter.
You have understand that at Rank 1, its just one depip to Rank 2. You either have to not care sometimes about a depip or keep going hard to make sure you get at least two kills a match to keep it. So many toxic players too that depending on how the last match went I may be determined to just show no mercy. Yeah he probably could have backed off but sometimes these games swing and suddenly all 4 of you are out the door.
I guess hes one of those people that die when they lose a pip aha

Quote: "the difference between these perks and the killer totem perks is the killers perks dont need no skill"
What does Devour Hope (to name a sample) do if you have "no skill" as killer? Does the totem defend itself ? Does the Hex generate tokens automatically ?
You clearly didn't read my comment properly.
I wasn't talking about any totem perk, the comment was about how killers have skill-less and requirementless perks that help them prevent unlucky situations for totems (undying and thrill).
Whereas survivors perks that help prevent them from unlucky hook situations (deliverance and DS), require small skill check skills and a requirement.
So the comment I quoted who said 'Should a survivor who spawns next to a totem be nice' is an invalid argument, as no matter if they're nice or not the killer if they ran these perks will be safe :)

Normalizing bad behaviour is in general; never a good idea. That's a downhill slope.
It's better to just accept it for what it is; but give it no gratification and instead just move on. Pay no mind to things out of your control, like the behaviour of others.
I wish people could just accept it, but some ppl in this community are stubborn and will only accept it if they can be 'allowed' to play toxic too.

When you see a glowing totem at the start of the match, do you think to yourself "hmm, match just started, lemme give the killer a break" and not cleanse it? If not, why do you expect killers to do so for you?
True I like your point, but that's the risk of bringing totems. Why do you think there's a perk called undying or even Thrill of the hunt?
However me being unhooked at a bad time and left to die on the hook. Can I control that? You may say 'use deliverance to get off yourself then' 'or use DS stupid'
I could use these. But the difference between these perks and the killer totem perks is the killers perks dont need no skill or requirement unlike DS (hitting the skill check) and deliverance (unhooking someone).
Yeah they may not be hard to do, but there's still a chance you may get put in the same situation (Got hooked first or miss the skill check by an inch)

it's a smart move in the position for the killer to do what they did to you, but it's also as smart of a move in the position you were in if you weren't having fun to turn the game off and do something else which I've done plenty of times on this game. most times I fired up the past couple of months or so I've actually turned it back off and played something else either because of the queue or the quality of teammates.
Yeah I normally don't get salty because you can just hop into a different game but it's just I went through all that waiting and loading to get a game with questionable survivors a good killer and a really unlucky and dissapointing situation
But yeah when I came back on just played some mk11 ykno, gotta love it.
-
The point of this post was just to see people's opinions about if it was REALLY necessary to go for all that effort of blocking me then waiting out BT, even though there is someone else also on death hook literally next to me.
I guess the player was just desperate to end the game quickly or somet idk, but you can't say you wouldn't get even a little bit salty in that scenario, including the bad teammates leaving you to die for ages.
And its not really his play that annoyed me the most its the fact I have to wait till the game is over 'not gonna tell my mate to DC' and then wait 10 minutes for another game because it was a slow queue at the time of playing.
So I just ended up turning off my xbox and accepting my quote 'if a game stops getting fun, stop playing it' :)

Yes, killers don't know what it's like to get singled out - oh wait, they are singled out every game. How many Rank 1 SWF games have I played where I didn't even get a single hook? "They didn't care for my feelings". In that case it's because I suck and need to get better.
But if we tunnel out a survivor, then it's us being unskilled.
Why did you get hooked in the basement? That's your fault. IMO, a basement hook should be devastating. It's the only hook that I will often be more likely to proxy camp, because it's intended to be hard to get the save.
You also have to gauge where the game is at any given point - if there are 4 left and 2 gens remaining, and you have an opportunity to tunnel out a survivor - do it. Sometimes games just go like that. If you play enough survivor you'd realize it rather than just complaining.
I don't know if your ranting at the quoter or me or even both lol.
But it was dead dawg saloon for one, the basement is quite easily accessible.
The blight was rank 1 and was good, he had 3 gens left when I got unhooked, which I guess yeah tunnel me out the game, but it's not like he was at a disadvantage, everyone was on death hook when I got unhooked.
And I'm not complaining as such, I'm just saying have heart dear blight, I've already been treated badly enough by my team don't add the cherry on top.
-
@Kees_T said:
That was totally on Steve fault for risking a save from the basement(a dangerous place) with the Killer nearby, and also other Survivors fault for not having the game sense to know when to save you.
Was he camping?
My mate was across the map on a gen that was like 70%, Steve and a Jane were both on same gen, they did kinda take importance on the gen than me but after they got it done Steve came to me, Jane got downed by the time Steve was at basement, blight Brigg blight just dashed to basement and yeah.
I'm not saying it's the killers fault, like the Jane and Steve were quite selfish in the match. But like cmon blight, selfish teammates, left on hook, and you decide to block me and wait for Bat to expire on me instead of going for Steve that whole entire time.
But hey a tactic is a tactic
-
Unfortunately there is nothing you can do but think positively, think about how many BP he's gonna get, how many pips, how much fun he's having...everyone gets bored of something they repeat constantly, and soon enough they'll realise face camping isn't useful anymore to them
-
@Crazewtboy said:
There is a easy solution to this issue. Don't get caught. Improve your running skills so it isn't you sitting on the hook.
Everyone eventually makes mistakes during a chase, and eventually you get caught..unless the killer is insanely new and or bad, but if we're on about any sort of experienced killer then that is unlikely.
When you get face camped, do you blame yourself for not running fast enough? Or do you blame the killer and say he's 'mad' or say he's 'trash'
It's easy to say 'just get better' but when you're put in situation it's a diff opinion.

Oh! But guess what happens, they have DS.
Only one of them will have DS active though lol? That's if they got recently unhooked
-
When I'm at the gate I either:
A - If they have had a rough match, and I know they won't gain many BP that game, I'll let them get 2 hits on me at the gate, that's 1K points. It may seem like nothing but if every survivor did that, that's 4K which ain't bad.
B - Just leave, if I'm confident everyone is able to escape I.e no noed and all healthy ppl, then I'll just leave.
C - If I get to a gate with an injured survivor or myself Injured, then I'll heal up before leaving to gain those extra BP, because as I said in reason 'A', little bits of BP there stack up :) and cmon it's free BP, not gonna waste it am I.
D - If the killer has been somewhat toxic, or shown some toxicitity, it's only fair to give them a taste of their own medicine, so I'll teabag. It's called karma.
But I know alot of survivors aren't like me and always teabag, whether they've been toxic or not. These survivors are just pathetic, imagine being you, bless ya cotton socks xo

The amount of Spirits at the level where there is very little counter play is extremely rare. Similar to a god tier Nurse.
The vast majority of Spirits and Nurses you face have a good amount of counter play, even at rank 1.
Care to share how you counter-play these god tier nurse and spirit mains?

@DawnMad said:

If there is very little risk then it's the survivors fault most of the time. Assuming they bring Iron Will of course. Good survivors are very good at being unpredictable, against them just listening isn't enough since they have control over footsteps and grass sounds and Iron Will completely removes breathing when injured. Most times against these you have to rely more on prediction than knowledge so yes there is risk involved. And if you miss your power once you give them enough time to rescue whoever is on the hook and heal. That's the fun of Spirit.
But she isn't like nurse, if you miss a blink with nurse, the survivor can gain quite abit of distance due to her recovery of her blinks, slow movement speed and fatigue.
However if a spirit misses a phase walk? How is that a bad thing? You instantly start moving at your normal speed, no fatigue, in fact you gain a quick burst of speed when you come out of it and it doesn't take too long to recharge
So let's use your scenario, if someone went for the hook.
If a nurse missed a blink chain, she'd be in fatigue and the survivor can get the unhook and both make a little distance whilst she gets ready to use her blinks again.
If spirit misses her phase walk, the survivor can get the unhook, but most likely get downed whilst doing so as she wouldn't be in no state of slowdown.

Because I find all the complaining funny and people like to call the people who use them trash or reliant on crutches so if we disable them the killers can show how trashy they are and how easy it is for a veteran player to lose because he was tunneled and how easy a swf loses because it's a 1v3 after 1 gen is done. If my test is done people have to realize the perks are needed for people who are unlucky enough to suffer. It will also prove killers just like to tunnel if they get the chance. Of course ive had nice killers who didnt tunnel and I looked down and there was no obsession. Hell this killer was losing and playing wrath, the only difference between him and a tunneler is that this guy was actually decent he just couldn't keep up with that killer
Fair enough :)))

Well why else would you want to disable all 'crutch' perks if you didn't have an opinion on them?
-

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1873383#Comment_1873383
God some people really don't understand the point of my post
I think I get the point of your post:
Your saying that there should be an experiment where these 'crutch' perks are disabled, to see the changes in gameplay and escape n kill ratios right?
But what I'm saying is, doing this will disable perks such as BT and DS that are commonly used to defeat hardcore tunnellers. Taking away these defenses, will not only unfairly imbalance the gameplay of survivors, but also increase the amount of tunnel playstyles in the game.
Nothing is wrong with tunneling, but if this idea was to happen, it would encourage tunneling and most definetly cause even more complaints about tunneling.
-

If i tunnel or camp its at endgame or for pressure. I dont do it as a playstyle and I rarely do it. I never eat d's for the most part because I dint tunnel. This is just an idea to prove that killers will tunnel if they can and the games health will be ruined
You can't complain about all these 'Overpowered' perks and then encourage camping and tunneling for 'pressure'.
And its your judgment to know when you need 'pressure', you may think there's no pressure and start camping where as someone else may say you have enough pressure already.

I'm a beginner killer and I don't play Huntress much so this may be a stupid statement, but if they're that close then why not just M1 lunge? Okay if you've got a hatchet ready to throw give it a fling. If it hits great, if not they're in bopping range and it seems like that'd be quicker.
I freely admit I may be missing the bloody obvious! :)
Because if you manage to hit them with a hatchet, they gain very minimum distance whereas basic attacking them grants them lots of diatance for a loop, which is especially bad for a killer with less speed than the average killer

-
What exactly are you trying to say? Crosshairs should be on huntress?
-
Just do gens.
I know it's unfair and it sucks alot to be the one camped, but I try to think about how bad it is for the killer to do this.
They are likely to lose a pip
They don't get many blood points
They lose the game (1 kill vs 3 escapes)
Act like you don't care in endgame chat, and they'll think...Oh..
It works and is a good way to look at something so annoying :))
-
Just force them out by going at them and hitting them.
They'll either take hits before leaving OR get scared and run out.
This makes the game end quicker and stops them from being able to earn bonus BP through healing, totems etc.
Besides, you're never going to see them in your real life, they mean nothing to you. Move on to the next game or take a break. Change killers or play survivor for abit.
The game is for fun, once the fun stops, you should stop too :)
